“ 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒 “
✦ . . ˚ . . ✦
. ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚ ˚ .˚ ✦ . . ˚ .
Parental - Yui’s relationship with her father is rocky and most certainly unhealthy. Due to his extensive history of vampire hunting and her long history of [redacted] the two don’t have the best relationship. From an early age it seemed like he was more interested in keeping her locked away. On top of performing exorcisms on her whenever she uttered something he didn’t like.
When she arrived at the Sakamaki Manor and discovered the truth of her adoptive father its said that she entered a heavy depression for a short period of time. At this time Yui has had no contact with her father minus the one time she had called him for help to no avail.
“ Despite everything, I believe I still love father ”
Shuu Sakamaki - To put it bluntly Yui doesn’t exactly like any of the sixth brothers she is forced to live with. But she does tolerate them. Despite the fact that Shuu tends to keep to himself and doesn’t exactly seek her out, he still displays behaviors akin to his brothers. Although Yui doesn’t exactly agree with his brothers sentiment of how Shuu is lazy or not good enough, mostly because she doesn’t have an opinion on him besides annoyance and indifference.
Relationship: pred/prey
Reiji Sakamaki - it’s suffice to say that Yui is petrified of the second eldest Sakamaki brother. From his need for perfection and the way he performs inhuman, and cruel experiments, it’s safe to assume she tends to stay away from Reiji as much as possible. Yui and him don’t get along but that doesn’t stop him from being obsessed with the younger girl. Once again all she feels for him is annoyance and fear.
Relationship: pred/prey
Ayato Sakamaki - To put it as bluntly as possible. Yui despises him. From his attitude towards her and the way he carries himself she finds it hard to believe that he could be a good- [the rest has been scribbled over numerous times but you can faintly make out praising and harsh words underneath the pen scribbles]
Relationship: unknown
Laito Sakamaki - [ The writing is heavily redacted in this section-] - apart from [REDACTEDS] feelings for Laito, Yui avoids him at all costs.
[ that’s all that could be found about their relationship at this time ]
Relationship: unknown
Kanato Sakamaki - Due to his outbursts and hard to control attitude Yui doesn’t spend much time, or any time at all with the vampire. His unpredictability makes it hard for her to want to get close to him despite [REDACTEDS] connection to him. She finds him scary and is unwilling to try to help him.
Relationship: pred/prey
Subaru Sakamaki - despite all odds Yui actually has a slight blooming relationship with the youngest brother. Despite his anger and the fact he still is a vampire, she finds it easier to talk to him especially because the two have bonded over his mother and the fact that Subaru seems to have a weak point for Yui. She finds his presence comforting at times and doesn’t feel as scared around him as she does around the other brothers.
Relationship: unknown

SHU FS2 CAME OUT. He looks balder than ever. I am not surprised nor entirely disappointed at his outfit being nothing to me, though it is a little saddening he’s following the same exact clothing trend he’s had in all his last cards. I like the unbloomed when it’s moving more but I like his little finger on head and his croissants naturally. Ugh, everytime I look at it, I strangely like it more. Why does this happen to me with cards! But also, why do the unbloomeds often eat up the bloomeds…?
The rose concept was already used on Hiyori you silly goose. Alas, they can share. But neither will be happy about it; he considered burning his shirt simply because Wataru said theirs matched.
I definitely like the fit more in 3DMV than in live2d, but it seems to often be the case with me so it’s only natural. But it doesn’t Always happen. Perhaps I was simply hating before. Or I am simply conditioning myself to it. The blue accents is very cute I love that shade so much. I like the coloured button-up a loooottttt & the red in the scr is so nice & I just I really like this outfit I do! & I like light colours so despite it being the same as his wedding tour 3⭐️ and his 4⭐️ in the wet Sena scout, it is pleasant nonetheless! It really is not awful, despite thinking he could have something far more unique, it was to be expected from how this round of feature scouts was going, where there seemed to be at most two categories of fashion, if not 3.
One thing I've been hating is the STUPID RANDOM STRIP OF FABRIC THEY KEEP GIVING THE 3DMV OUTFITS WHICH LIKE I GET BECAUSE IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY WANT TO DRAW THE EYES TO THE MOVEMENT OF IT A LOT OF THE OUTFITS SEEM DESIGNED WITH THIS PURPOSE BUT IT JUST LOOKS FUCKING STUPID SOMETIMES. LIKE. TOILET PAPER ROLL TUCKED INTO THEIR CLOTHES OR LIKE A STRANGE CURTAIN FOR THEIR ASS. OR SOMETHING. IT'S NOT RIGHT. But... well I suppose it works here. Especially since the cut of his suit is not at all a novelty but it's okay. But I was reminded of it seeing it in action in his spp... it is just nothing to me. The stupid piece of fabric I mean. it could be removed and I would not miss it. But I Understand It's Purpose therefore I do not despise it I just get find it silly.
What was the meaning of this. What’s wrong with you? Was there a need for roses on your flat arse. Embroidery on your behind. Though this sort of thing is awesome and cunty when done on like, jeans. And such.
He has a nice SCR… I like it a lot actually. SCRS aren’t always good & I never Purposefully get SCRS but it’s such a win to me when they are good because then I look at them & I smile. ☺️
Bwuh… I’m pretty sure Nito’s hair ribbon changes colour in scr to red too… maybe they both do… not okay. They look so, so good next to each other I should just die. I should just die.
It will never have the brilliance his FS1 holds, with it’s interesting silhouette which almost looks like a dress, and really fun boots, and the classic, stupid, gay, yet ever so fun Itsuki Shuu trademark hat on his head! But I am growing fonder of it the more I look at it. At least, everything ASIDE FROM THE BLOOMED. Which I don’t like. On the lower end of FS2s for me regarding bloomed illustration but points for everything else. You win this time despite objectively not being that good. I like the side of Shu it shows too. Even if his face looks stupid.
I don’t like his FS1 bloomed much specifically when it comes to his silly face & pose, but the outfit makes up for it. Do you notice how this is a pattern. But, either way, many parts of it are so dope, such as the spiral staircase, the dramatic element of the back of his outfit flaring up like that, the paintings on the wall and the chandelier. It’s all very grand. & if anyone deserves and should be expected to be grand, it is him. There’s a lot one can say about it really.
However, I like the lightness of his FS2. The romantic elements such as the shades used, the red roses, his ring. There’s a lot to be enjoyed here.
I haven’t looked at the full illustration for his FS2 yet but I am excited to witness it since often they coax me into liking the card more than when it is cropped/in actual card form. But his face in the bloomed, is stupid and gay. That is all. Otherwise, it’s Perce approved, all things considered. :-) but to be honest. It really does look like something you’d find at a mall. The outfit, I mean.

Mireya's Thoughts on Suginami Division
Ryuko Umemoto
"I'll admit, I didn't recognize this guy until my husband revealed he was part of the Yakuza group a few years ago who was trying to shut us down. Normally, being part of any sort of gang would be enough for me to despise you. I've little love for gang violence, Yakuza, or anything in-between. As I mentioned before, Kito Sakura over in Shizuoka is about as much as I can take, and that's mainly due to Reika-san."
"Anyway, like I said, being a Yakuza is enough for me to dislike you normally. ...But strangely enough, I don't feel that way about this guy. I don't know if it's because of his older brother, who's one of my son's teachers, or if it's because he's turned his life around and is no longer part of that life. I'll admit, when Kai told me he was an animator now, I had to do a double-take. A Yakuza-turned-animator? Sounds too good to be true. But when he showed me some of the work he's done, I had to admit, he had talent."
"So... yeah, like I said, I'm glad this guy has made the decision to turn his life around. I'm not saying I care for him or his past, and I certainly wouldn't invite him over for dinner. But it's good that that was just one dark part of his life. Hopefully, things will get better for him."
Maki Umemoto
"I've only met Maki-san a few times at several PTA meetings. Zakari tells me that, much like Rosho-sensei, he doesn't really do well with crowds, unfortunately. Of course, I'm not going to demean either man because of their shortcomings. So long as they manage to give my son the modicum of education he needs to succeed in society, then I've no problem with either of them."
Shuu Edogawa
"Ugh, my husband has far greater patience than me when it comes to this loathsome individual. When I received word that he was snooping around my club for the past week and a half, I knew something about him wasn't right. Eventually, I had enough and had security bring him to my office where my husband and I confronted him. I demanded to know why he was skulking around, and he revealed that he was a private investigator, which confirmed my suspicions."
"In case you didn't get it, I have a deep loathing for any sort of investigator, detective, generally, anyone who goes around snooping where they don't belong. Why? Because ever since I was young, I've had to put up with these individuals my entire life thanks to my mother. Almost every month she paid top dollar for these guys to come and do detective work on each one of her ex's, to see if they were cheating on her or not. It was... it was just a waste of privacy to have those guys come in and inspect everything. It was one of the things I hated about my life, and my mother." Mireya shakes her head.
"Anyway, apparently he was searching for a lost teenage girl who her mother had hired to bring her back. Hearing the girl cry about not wanting to return home because she found her home life stifling and her mother, overbearing... well, it brought back a lot of memories from my own childhood. I paid that pink-haired investigator twice as much as his client was offering him and told him to leave the girl and her boyfriend alone. I also warned him not to show his face in my club again unless it was for 'entertainment purposes only'. If not, he was going to be denied at the door."
"I haven't seen hide nor tail of that wretch since then. And I am not at all sad about that."
Sazanka Zombeez
"Much like my husband said, I'm not sure exactly what to say about this team. They're original, especially as far as their name goes, but... well, they're original, as I said. As for the members: I'm neutral when it comes to the leader, and Maki-sensei seems to be alright. But that investigator of theirs? I'm not sparing him nothing if we meet in this tournament. Nothing personal, but consider everything I say and do to you my way of releasing all my pent-up frustration from people like you have caused me and others throughout my childhood."

Diabolik Lovers Drama CD Analysis: The Dinner Banquet by Moonlight
This drama CD is already a part of my HDB route analysis for Reiji’s character, however, I wanted to post it separately for convenience - this post mainly consists of both analysis and my own thoughts and interpretations. I thought I’d post this separately just in case anyone wanted to read my thoughts on it without having to scroll down my entire HDB route analysis.
As always, this transcript is by the lovely @dialovers-translations.
So, shall we begin?
Word Count: 9,171 words
*Cling*
Reiji: Haah...I simply cannot get enough of the fragrance of this tea. During this short timespan given to me, I get to indulge in the highest of luxuries. At dawn, when everyone is falling asleep, enjoying a cup of tea by myself. A wonderful time just by myself. I even find myself wishing that the fools in this household would just never wake up again.
The door opens.
Shuu: ー Sorry to crush your dreams, but I’ll have to interrupt your ideal time.
Reiji: Hm? ...Tsk, Shuu. You truly do appear at the worst possible times. Hmph. Thanks to you, the best time and space changed to the worst time and space in the blink of an eye.
You usually do not wake up over the slightest thing, so what’s the matter?
Shuu: Hm...For some reason I couldn’t fall asleep. There’s this certain thing missing from my bed after all.
Reiji: ...’This certain thing?’
Right at the beginning of this CD, it’s pointed out to us that Reiji rarely gets his own time, he’s always busy with something and never really has any time to himself to relax - bringing us back to his perfectionism and how that can cause people to become restless until something has been ‘perfected’, leaving sparse amounts of time to simply sit back and enjoy your own company; yet that becomes interrupted, and Reiji’s sour mood returns.
It’s quite fitting that out of all the brothers, it’s Shuu who decides to deflate Reiji’s mood - if you’ve played or followed Shuu’s route, then you know that he’ll frequently do things to intentionally irritate Reiji, and I think that is exactly what he’s doing here. Shuu has a trivial problem, an inconvenience, and who does he annoy ? Reiji, and him being the way he is, voices his disdain for Shuu’s presence. What I find to be quite apt is how Shuu gives a vague hint to his problem and expects Reiji to know what it is. The reason I’ve said that it’s quite fitting of Shuu’s character to do this is because he does the same thing but with his emotions throughout his route - not only does he not elaborate on his inconvenience, but he purposefully makes Reiji question the circumstance; and we all know that Reiji despises not understanding things. To link back to a prior section, notice how Reiji only vocalises his displeasure, he doesn’t physically remove Shuu at any point, implying that he may not hate Shuu as a person, but he doesn’t condone his behaviour. Shuu catches Reiji’s attention and then promptly cuts him off, annoying him. Furthermore, notice how Reiji was the first person Shuu went to, yes Reiji is the most mature, but Shuu still went to him to fix his problem; that could imply that in this scenario, Reiji acts as the ‘caretaker’, the mature figurehead who deals with everything from financial affairs to personal problems - this further shows his need to succeed at everything, and be ‘perfect’ -.
Shuu: Nn...I’m tired...Oh well, I’ll sleep.
He drops down on the couch.
Reiji: Ah...! Wait! Please do not sleep on the couch!
Shuu: Zzz...Zz...
Reiji: Ugh...You...Vampire version of Sleeping Beauty! Shuu! You’re in the way! If you fall asleep there, it’ll ruin my long-awaited tea time! You’re an eyesore, so please disappear from my sight!
Shuu: ...Hm? ー Zz...Zz...
Reiji: ...! Kuh...He won’t wake up. This guy really...!
Hm. Oh well, it’s fine. I suppose he wishes to be killed by me. I’ll grant your wish right now.
Reiji pulls out a blade.
Reiji: Fufufu...If that’s what you want, Using this silver knife I’ve spent days and nights sharpening, I’ll chop off your head in a single motion. This is your punishment for corrupting my wonderful space. You deserve to die while writhing in pain.
Shuu: Nn... (sleep-talking) I can’t...suck no more...Zz...
Reiji: Heh. Dream on for eternity, Sakamaki Shuu.
Notice how Reiji still keeps up his politeness, even when practically yelling at Shuu - it’s fairly easy to see how much Reiji resents his brother, and with that in mind, it’s a natural response to be quick to anger. Yet, with Reiji’s annoyance growing, you’d think that his form of speech would differ and grow more irascible in his wording. I find it quite apt for Reiji to call Shuu “Sleeping Beauty”, not only for the fact that he usually just sleeps all the time, but the fact that Aurora/Talia/Briar-Rose (depending on what source you’re reading from) was a princess within the fable...and given that Karlheinz is the current Vampire King, that would give Shuu a ‘princely’ status. To add onto this, just because I thought it was neat, in the Disney adaptation of the fable, Aurora only speaks 18 lines - which reminded me of how little Shuu tends to speak. There’s not much to analyse for that part but I thought I’d mention it since I thought it was quite apt of Reiji to draw this comparison.
Something that did strike me as strange, was how Reiji decided to draw his sharpened knife at this point in the narrative - if Reiji truly hated Shuu (which I don’t think he does) why wait until now to attempt his murder ? In all honesty, I don’t think Reiji wouldve actually killed Shuu; in my opinion, I think it was more of a ploy to wake Shuu up - put him on high alert - and get him to leave the room. It’s in a vampire’s nature to have higher senses, so one should be able to detect another and or possible danger and it can be implied that Reiji was attempting to use those senses to his advantage in order to get Shuu to leave of his own accord. Additionally, how Reiji claims, “This is your punishment for corrupting my wonderful space. You deserve to die while writhing in pain” could be inferred to refer not only to Reiji’s current dilemma - his “wonderful space” being his time to himself without being interrupted, being surrounded by his own company and relishing in the sparseness of their occurrence; since Shuu has interrupted that, it has therefore become corrupt - however, it could also relate back to Reiji’s childhood and his CEN. It could be implied that if Shuu had been different, Reiji’s childhood might have been different too, but due to that not occurring, Reiji’s once ‘pure’ childhood has now been tarnished and 'corrupted' - pure in the sense that as an infant he would’ve received the care he needed, yet due to Shuu’s importance, that pure, ‘motherly’ care and acknowledgement was lost, and his once “wonderful space” was then only full of loathing and solitude; to me, that makes sense as to why Reiji says “You deserve to die writhing in pain”. Overall, this inference might be considered a long shot, however, it did pique my interest and I thought I’d share it.
Approaching footsteps can be heard in the distance.
Ayato: ...Aaah!!
Kanato: Trying to kill him in his sleep...What a boring way to murder someone.
Laito: Nfu~ Are we interrupting something, perhaps?
Ayato: Oi!! Don’t try and kill him here, you idiot! Take that kind of stuff outside! You’re in the way!
Reiji: Why are you three here? Did you not say you’d be going to bed and headed to your rooms earlier?
Ayato: Ah, yeah, we did say something like that! But you see, I’m hungry so I just couldn’t fall asleep.
Laito: Nfu~ What were you trying to do while we were asleep, I wonder~?
Kanato: If you want to kill him, it’s the most fun when the other person is wide awake. You wouldn’t want to miss out on their suffering face, would you?
Ayato: Kanato, you really are messed up, huh?
Laito: Eeeh~? But you know, I can understand what Kanato is saying.
Kanato: Fufu...~
Reiji: Haah...
Shuu: (yawns) ...Shut up. Don’t make a fuss right next to the couch.
Laito: Oh dear? Have you awoken?
Shuu: Anyone would wake up if it’s that noisy...Che
Ayato: ...This is the living room, you know!? It doesn’t belong to you, so don’t go clicking your tongue like that! This is my turf!!
Laito: It doesn’t belong to you either, Ayato.
Ayato: Haah!? Every single thing in this house belongs to me!
In this section of the CD, we see Reiji take the passive role when faced with the triplets - which is evidently different from how he is with Yui, or Shuu for that matter - and this could possibly be due to their vast differences. It is to my interpretation that compared to Reiji, Shuu and Subaru, the triplets are rather unhinged and far more bombastic in their whims, desires and means of keeping control - more so Ayato and Kanato moreover Laito since he’s easier to negotiate with -. In addition to this, Reiji’s lack of dialogue in this part could imply back to his passive behaviour compared to the three, as well as present their character differences; and they also tend to listen more to Shuu over Reiji, which would no doubt cause friction, and could potentially link to why Reiji’s presented as passive towards the triplets - there wouldn’t be much point in trying to control their behaviour if they never planned on listening to Reiji in the first place -.
Kanato: Ah...I’m so...terribly hungry...
Ayato: Haah?
Kanato: I...I... *sniff* This whole time...
Ayato: ...Oh fuck.
Reiji: Hm? Kanato, what’s the matter?
Kanato: I’M TELLING YOU I’M HUNGRY, AM I NOT!? I’ve been telling you OVER AND OVER with the look in my eyes! What’s your problem!? Don’t make fun of me!!
Laito: Aha~! He snapped!
Kanato: You see, when I get hungry...I completely lose control...I just get so incredibly angry, I can’t help it!
*THUD*
Shuu: Aah...Noisy...
Ayato: Calm down already! If you throw a tantrum like that, you’ll only get even more hungry!
Kanato: Shut up!!
*THUD*
Kanato: As if you would understand how I feel!?
Ayato: ...!? Fuck, this pisses me off! Oi, Reiji! This is your responsibility!
Reiji: Haah? I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t spout such nonsense. For starters, if you guys had just minded your own business...
I quite like this interaction between Reiji and Ayato here from the declarative “Oi, Reiji! This is your responsibility!“, it not only paints Ayato as a bit of a brat, but it also implements the theme that Reiji is the ‘caretaker’ among the brothers - he cooks, he cleans, he makes sure everyone is okay; more so Kanato, but that’s for an obvious reason. There’s also the implication that the triplets view Reiji as more of a ‘paternal figure’ since their actual father is absent from the majority of their lives, and due to Reiji’s strict and stiff personality, he would naturally be considered as the ‘responsible’ member of the household; hence why Ayato is quick to pass the responsibility of his brother’s hunger onto him - it reminds me of how a child would complain to their parent and then expect them to fix their problem -.
I’d also like to mention the use of aposiopesis, the ellipsis at the end of Reiji’s sentence implying that his dialogue is trailing off or ‘breaking’ and is left unfinished. For instance, it could imply that as he’s talking, he’s had the realisation that the triplets wouldn’t have listened to him anyway, but it could also represent his passiveness in the situation. He was on the verge of ‘killing’ Shuu and now he’s allowing his siblings to run rampant around the living room and declare him to fix Kanato’s problem...that doesn’t seem like the authoritative figure we follow through his route with Yui and I think Reiji’s purposely taking the back seat, and his unfinished sentence could be implied to demonstrate that. From my interpretation, it seems that Reiji’s initial thought process is to simply ‘stick it out’ until the triplets leave, and he can once again attempt to have his moment of relaxation.
Kanato: Uu... *sniff* Anything will do...Anything...Just...FILL MY BELLY!!
*THUD*
Laito: Nfu~
Shuu: Aah...What a pain.
Reiji: ...I understand. I understand so please calm down! I will make you a homemade meal. ESPECIALLY for you guys’ sake, I will do that.
Shuu: It isn’t really special or anything. You’ve always been the one in charge of cooking.
Reiji: Shuu!!
Laito: Nfu~ Either way, we don’t want Kanato to cry and complain any longer, so please get right to cooking~
Reiji: Good grief... (mumbles) Why do I have to do all of this...One day, I’ll kill these guys for sure...
Kanato: Did you say something!?
It’s evident to see that compared to all the brothers, Reiji often goes overlooked or simply does not hold more of a notable presence; and I think scenes like this display that quite well. Phrases such as “I understand. I understand so please calm down! I will make you a homemade meal. ESPECIALLY for you guys’ sake, I will do that” portray Reiji as a character who tries to conform, reason and reassure the situation at hand; the fact that he repeats the verb phrase “I understand” implies that he’s opting to reason with Kanato’s demands and let him know that the problem will be addressed and sorted. By following Reiji’s route, we understand that he’s a character who abhors unnecessary drama and complaints; therefore, he’s attempting to solve the problem quickly and avoid any possible tantrums from Kanato’s end.
*TIMESKIP*
Reiji: Here you go, now there’s nothing to complain about, is there?
He drops the plate on the table.
Laito: Nfu~ So violent! The pudding you took your time making will become a mess!
Reiji: Even if it looks bad, as long as your stomach gets filled, it shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Ayato: ...Are you happy now, Kanato?
Kanato: ...Pudding! Sparkling...Pudding!!
Reiji: I present to you, Sakamaki Reiji’s special iron-packed pudding, topped with raspberry sauce.
Kanato: *munch much* Mm...~
Reiji: Hey! At least give your impressions first! Like ‘it looks good’, or ‘thank you’ to express your gratitude!
Kanato: Haahn...*munch munch*
Reiji: ...The cold shoulder!?
The notion that Reiji drops the plate on the table alongside his remark presents a passive-aggressive tone, which I think is quite fitting since he likes to display a more ‘gentlemanly’ façade - he’s obliged to Kanato’s whims even though he didn’t want to; passive-aggressiveness naturally comes hand-in-hand with that sort of behaviour, that sort of passive behaviour. Additionally, Laito’s remark of “so violent” could imply that he doesn’t take Reiji’s sour mood too seriously and opts to play off of it - it can be further implied that none of the triplets take Reiji’s efforts seriously at all. This inference can be found when Kanato gorges the pudding without uttering a word, which causes Reiji to grow more irritated since he feels like he’s entitled to an utterance of praise to “express your [Kanato’s] gratitude“. It not only displays Reiji’s passiveness to ‘give in’ to Kanato’s anger, but it also displays his incessant need for praise, acknowledgement and attention from others - which we can clearly see throughout his route, as it stemmed from his childhood and CEN -. It also explains why Reiji becomes quite expressive when given “the cold shoulder!?” by Kanato.
Ayato: Haah...Oh well, he calmed down so whatever? By the way, Reiji, isn’t there any for us? Aah!?
Reiji: ...Why would I have to cook for you guys as well?
Shuu: ...I’m hungry.
Ayato: Exactly, hungry!
Laito: Right~? We’re totally starved!
Reiji: I do not care! Why not cook for yourself?
I find it quite humorous that Ayato expects for there to be food for him and the others, it not only shows his entitlement, but also his treatment of Reiji - the caretaker, the figurehead, the paternal figure, the butler -. It’s at this moment that Reiji shows his more authoritative side towards the brothers and attempts to cut their interaction short - evidently it doesn’t work, but it shows how the other brothers are willing to take advantage of Reiji’s efforts in order to sate their own needs. It both displays the brothers’ selfishness, but also Reiji’s lack of presence - which could imply why he’s as brutal and manipulative as he is throughout the entirety of his route -.
Ayato: If we were allowed to, we would...But are you sure? If we were to cook, who knows what will happen to the kitchen...
Laito: Right? Weren’t you the one who lashed out at us for using the kitchen the other day?
Shuu: Ah...That was...Because you guys made the whole thing explode, right?
Ayato: It wasn’t an explosion! We were only cooking!
Reiji: Would the kitchen really explode from just cooking? ...It can’t be helped. I’ll make an exception and make something for you guys as well.
Shuu: Try and make it as quick as possible, okay?
Reiji: ...! For some reason I just don’t feel satisfied... Oh well, I suppose it’s fine. I will make you something.
Kanato: ...I’m looking forward to it.
Reiji: You’re still planning on eating more!?
Here we see both Ayato and Laito display their slyness, a little bit of reverse-psychology in order to get their way - to eat without cooking -. I find it quite fitting that Shuu also plays into this, not only due to his apathy and laziness, but also because he knows that it’ll irritate Reiji; in turn, their ploy works, Reiji questions himself, something that he does internally quite frequently, showing his more doubtful side, and gives in to their demands. Interactions such as this show how the brothers tend to treat Reiji as a servant of sorts - and can explain why Reiji treats Yui as such, he’s treating her how he himself is treated. It’s both sad and ironic. However, Shuu’s quick remark of “Try and make it as quick as possible, okay?” not only shows his gall, but his ungratefulness towards Reiji, and how far he’s willing to go in order to annoy him; and Reiji’s reluctant to that, he yet again gives in and becomes passive, this can be seen through the phrase “it’s fine”. It’s a phrase we all use when we yield or back down from something, even if we’re not fine with it; it presents our own passivity towards something that may cause conflict. I also wanted to bring attention to Kanato’s dialogue here, as it again presents the brothers’ entitlement, and how they each expect Reiji to rally round each and every one of their problems or inconveniences - but also, the exchange is quite funny to me -.
*TIMESKIP*
Reiji: Now you can’t complain.
He drops the plates on the table again.
Laito: Nfu~ What a brute. There’s no reason to slam them down like that.
Ayato: Woah!! Despite everything, in the end Reiji’s a good guy! He made all of our favourite dishes! I’m digging iiin~ *munch munch*
Delicious, this Takoyaki!!
Laito: These macaroons as well...They’re sublime~ Almost as if they’re straight from a famous store in Paris. Nfu~
Shuu: *munch munch* The steak’s good...
Reiji: ...!!! Unconsciously...I ended up...making everyone’s favourite dish...I almost seem like you guys’ mother at this point! Damnit!
He slams his fist against the table.
Reiji: ...I can’t forgive myself.
Again, we see Reiji’s passive-aggressiveness through his mannerisms, for which Laito states “What a brute”. The phrase itself holds no deeper meaning in the context and is mainly used to display Laito’s ‘playful’ personality and mockery towards Reiji. Additionally, the praise that Reiji lacked from Kanato earlier is made up for here by Ayato, Laito and Shuu as they each state that: “The steak’s good”, “They’re [the macaroons] sublime” and “Despite everything, in the end Reiji’s a good guy”. I wanted to bring attention to the third comment - made by Ayato - as I find it quite significant towards Reiji’s character. It can not only be used in the context that he’s gone out of his way to please the others and their ravenous stomachs, but it could also relate to his route in general - throughout Reiji’s route he (at first) treats Yui quite poorly yet, when the time calls for it, he’s also there for her; he’s got Yui’s back when all else fails is what I’m trying to say. That despite everything, Reiji does care for Yui, it’s just in his own messed up way.
Furthermore, I find the notion that Reiji subconsciously cooked their favourite meals to be quite telling - implying that as much as he claims to hate his brothers, he’s still meticulous in their preferences; inadvertently showing that he does, in retrospect, care for them. The added factor that Reiji seems to despise the fact that he’s catered to everyone’s favourite dish, and can’t forgive himself for it could imply that to some degree, Reiji views himself as a ‘bad’ person - or that he likes to think that he’s a bad person in order for him to make sense of his childhood; again bringing us back to his CEN and the belief that a child has to be ‘wrong’ in some way for their parents to not love them, and with that in mind, it therefore makes a little more sense as to why Reiji becomes frustrated with himself after this situation.
Footsteps approach
Subaru: ...Oi!!
*THUD*
Reiji: ...! That startled me! ...Subaru?
Subaru: Che...Makin’ a fuss down here...You’re all far too loud, I can’t sleep!!
Reiji: Aah...My apologies for the inconvenience. However, it should be resolved now. Their bellies have been filled, so they should soon...
Subaru: Oi, make something for me as well.
Reiji: Haah...?
Subaru: ‘Cause of these guys I woke up and when I came downstairs, the air was filled with nothing but delicious smells. Now I’m hungry as well.
Ayato: *munch munch* Aah? If you snack at night, you’ll get fat!
Reiji: Speak for yourself!
Subaru: ...Che! Hurry up! I’m starved!
Reiji: Heh. I refuse. I’ve been cooking non-stop since earlier, and I do not wish to return to the kitchen over and over again.
Subaru: Haaah...!?
Reiji: Seeing you sulk that much makes me uncomfortable too, if you are dissatisfied, why don’t you...
*CRASH SHATTER*
Reiji: ...!?
Laito: Ah-aaah~ Look at that hole in the cupboard. Now we get a nice view of the moon.
The added appearance of Subaru to this scene allows us to view Reiji from different perspectives and scenarios. Subaru also desires food and Reiji puts his foot down and denies - showing assertiveness towards his sibling - and from that, Subaru begins to destroy the house - throwing a makeshift tantrum if you will -. It could infer that if either the triplets or Subaru don’t get their own way, they’ll resort to violence, which would no doubt cause Reiji an unending amount of hassle; it links back to the point I made previously, that Reiji is treated as some form of servant by his brothers, and in order to avoid a large scale conflict, he must oblige and become passive (to a degree, he still remains his usual snarky self). It could be implied that when Subaru creates a hole in the cupboard, it’s as if to say “don’t test me”, and we all know that Reiji is a man who prefers to avoid unnecessary risks, and so, he becomes complaisant. It’s a good tactic on Subaru’s end, yet form Reiji’s perspective, it shows his lack of assertiveness towards his brothers, and how he allows himself to be pushed around by them - which obviously allows all that negativity to bubble and fester for him to later take out on Yui -.
Shuu: Nn...It’s cold...
Subaru: Oi...Shall I do more? Aaah!?
Reiji: Haah...
Subaru: I don’t mind wrecking every single wall in this damn place.
Ayato: Oi, oi, cut us some slack. It’ll become something even worse than a haunted house.
Shuu: Father will go on a rampage so cut it out. This is a pain.
Reiji: ...!! Father will!? That’s...You leave me with no other choice, I understand. I’ll make you something.
Subaru takes a seat.
Subaru: Make it quick, got it?
Reiji: Just sit still there and prepare yourself!
Laito: Nfu~ He may be complaining, but he sure looks after us well.
Reiji: Laito! Did you say something just now?
Laito: Noo~ Nothing at all. Nfu~
Once Reiji realises that their “Father will go on a rampage” if any more damage is done, he’s quick to null Subaru’s behaviour. We know that out of all six brothers, Reiji is the only one to value his father’s opinion and presence - I’ve mentioned why earlier on during the childhood section, but it again links back to his CEN and need for approval. Reiji wants to prove that he’s capable and successful to his father so that he may receive the love he lost out on, he wants to be acknowledged by him and prove he’s worthy enough to be loved.
I also like how not only Ayato calls out Reiji’s ‘soft spot’, but Laito also points it out too, and - in typical Reiji fashion - Reiji’s quick to dismiss the statement by goading Laito to repeat his phrase, which Laito promptly denies. It links back to the point I made of it earlier, that Reiji doesn’t want to think of himself as a ‘good’ person, this could be due to a multitude of things such as his upbringing, race, resentment of Shuu, the fact he had his own mother killed, his treatment of Yui etc. However, in my opinion, it could also be implied that Reiji doesn’t want to believe that he’s a ‘good’ person because that could allow his brothers to take advantage of him further; that his ‘politeness’ could be his downfall and no one would take him seriously or see him as a threat - especially in regards to Yui -.
*TIMESKIP*
Reiji: This is the last dish for the night, got it!?
*THUD*
Subaru: ...Haah!? What’s up with that attitude!? ...By the way, what’s this?
Reiji: Hmph. You’re always saying how you don’t have a favourite meal, so I made this from the leftovers.
Ayato: Aah? What’s this? Pasta?
Laito: It’s Reiji’s favourite Carbonara, right?
Reiji: Heh. Despite complaining about being hungry earlier, in the end, you have a small appetite. Since I assumed you wouldn’t have much, I figured it would be best to make my own favourite meal, so I could eat it afterwards.
Subaru: Che...Fuck. You made me this sloppy, slimy dish...
Reiji: Exactly. That’s why it might be wise for you to pass up o...
Subaru starts wolfing down the pasta.
The more this scene continues, the more apparent Reiji’s passive-aggressiveness shows; the irony of Subaru asking what Reiji’s problem is, is honestly brilliant. It really shows how out of touch each brother is with one another. I also quite like how Reiji just assumes that Subaru won’t eat the meal and it backfires exponentially - it demonstrates that Reiji not only underestimates Yui but also his brothers; yes, it also shows his manipulation since he more or less goads Subaru into not eating the Carbonara since it’s Reiji’s favourite dish, again linking back to Reiji’s reverse-psychology and anti-conformity tactics.
Subaru: *munch munch* Mm...
Reiji: You’re actually eating it!?
Kanato: Smells nice...Let me have a little too.
Subaru: (talking with his mouth full) Just go ‘head and take some...
Kanato: Okay. Thank you very much. Bon appetite.
Reiji: Hold up! My share! Make sure to leave some for me too!
Subaru: Haah? As if I care...
*Sluuuurp*
Reiji: Aaaah! Scarfing it down like that...! I made a larger portion so at least leave some behind!
Kanato: Thank you for the meal~
Ayato: Woah! They ate it all in one go!
Reiji: ...You’ve got to be kidding me!? That amount...By just the two of them, all at once...
By having Subaru eat the dish, and Reiji consequently being surprised by that, it presents the implication that Reiji’s intellect and ego can sometimes precede him and thus demonstrates his overconfidence. He’s overconfident in himself to always be right, but he also underestimates everyone else around him to play into his tactics. I also enjoy how Kanato also digs in too, it not only shows both Subaru and Kanato getting along for once, but I just find it funny how someone as petite as Kanato is eating so much; it’s also amusing how they both disregard the fact that Reiji made the dish for himself and yet by the end of it, he’s the only one who’s not eaten. Reiji’s dialogue of “Hold up! My share! Make sure to leave some for me too!” could be interpreted as a plea, he’s almost begging for his two siblings to leave him some of his own dish; the ellipsis during the statement, “...You’ve got to be kidding me!? That amount...By just the two of them, all at once...” sells his disbelief at the prospect of the situation he’s just caused himself. I like to think that this shows how his usual cocky behaviour can, at times, backfire. It shows that he’s not as perfect as he likes to think he is and that assumptions can do more harm than good.
Subaru: ...Phew~ It didn’t taste bad.
Reiji: Ugh...Why did you not leave my share behind? Today’s carbonara turned out excellent as well!
Subaru: You made it for me, so I get to decide what to do with it. Stop complainin’...!
Reiji clenches his fists.
Bearing that in mind, we again see Reiji become a little more assertive towards his sibling yet he quickly becomes passive once more. We see this through Subaru’s retort, and again shows how Reiji’s usage of words can backfire; therefore, that then gives him no logical argument to present to Subaru, and so, he clenches his fists. Reiji’s body language within this section is telling of both his passiveness and also his anger, it can be implied that clenching your fists is the result of pent up anger and frustration; with that in mind, this can therefore link back to Reiji and his ‘control issues’ - his perfectionism, his narcissism and his need to monopolise everything -. I particularly enjoy how Subaru calls Reiji out on this by telling him to “Stop complainin’...!”. The declarative itself presents Subaru as a reckless character, but as someone who has more presence than Reiji; it also presents the difference between Reiji and Shuu compared to their respective siblings - both Shuu and Reiji are a lot quieter and reserved in their ways, whereas Subaru and the triplets are vocal, disruptive and reckless in their behaviour. However, this section could also imply that Reiji knows when to hold his tongue so that conflict does not break out on his end, it can be implied that he clearly wants to argue back against Subaru due to his clenched fists (showing his irritation) yet, he holds back. He holds back because as we know, Subaru’s temper and sheer strength can often be a loose cannon, and I don’t believe Reiji would challenge that; hence why his fists are clenched - he’s ‘biting his tongue’ so to speak -.
Reiji: Kuh...
Laito: Aah~ My belly’s filled and we get such a nice view of the moon from here.
Ayato: Yeah! I finally feel satisfied!
Shuu: I feel you.
Reiji: Ah...That’s right! All of you were finally able to fill your empty stomachs, weren’t you? All because of me! That being said, hurry up and...
Laito: Nn...
Ayato: I’ve gotten sleepy... *yawns*
Shuu: Zz...
Kanato: Good niiiiight~
Reiji: Hold up! Will you all be sleeping here!? I was just about to pour myself a cup of tea to lift my mood! Return to your rooms at this instant!
Ayato: ...That’s a pain. Who cares if we sleep here?
Reiji’s frustration becomes more and more apparent as the CD continues and this section displays that, especially through his need for recognition, “All because of me!”. This exclamative demonstrates both his aggression and his thirst for acknowledgement - he wants thanks for his aid -. The personal pronoun “me” can be implied to present Reiji’s self-importance, as he’s stating that his siblings’ stomachs would still be in ‘peril’ if he hadn’t been ‘generous’ enough to provide what they wanted; yet again, he and his remarks are completely and utterly ignored, it demonstrates that his brothers don’t take him seriously and that he’s just the ‘parental’ figure, he’s the butler to them. When you see Reiji’s treatment from the other brothers, it becomes easier to understand why he’s the way he is with Yui, especially his need for reassurance and praise.
Reiji’s demands are again ignored; each line he speaks at the end of this section is an exclamative, he’s quite literally shouting at them and he goes disregarded - as the CD continues his mood decreases and decreases until he more or less gives up and gives in to his brothers’ anarchy. I’d like to link this back to Reiji’s relationship to Yui, much like how over time Reiji wears Yui down into becoming more or less subservient to his whims and desires, here we see almost the same thing - their situations parallel each other - as all the brothers exhaust Reiji and wear him down until he inevitable gives them what they want. It all inadvertently links back to Reiji wanting to cause others the same pain and struggles he feels and this circumstance is no difference; if anything, it displays it to a bigger extent.
Laito: *yawn* Napping in the light of the moon...is another one of my ways to have fun. Nn...I’m sleepy...
Reiji: Don’t actually fall asleep!
Kanato: Uu...*sniff* I’m tired but...You’re being noisy...
Reiji: ...! What is you guys’ problem!?
Subaru: My thoughts exactly! Getting sleepy after eating...You’re all Vampires, aren’t ya!? This is the pinnacle of laziness.
Reiji: Exactly...Indulging in human food and then falling right asleep...Heh! This is unbelievable.
Subaru: As a Vampire...It has to be ‘that’, or I just can’t feel satisfied. Isn’t that true?
Reiji: You’re right.
Reiji licks his lips.
Reiji: In the end...Nothing beats drinking the blood from a fair lady’s neck. Otherwise, our hunger and thirst can simply not be quenched.
Subaru: Heh, so simple-minded.
Reiji: What?
Within this section Reiji’s mood changes rather quickly from Subaru’s remark at his brothers’ laziness, and then it reverts back to his usual sour mood. What I wanted to bring attention to here is how Reiji’s mood lifts when someone is in accordance with him, they have either similar or the same views as him; it relates back to Reiji’s need for approval and reassurance, and for a brief moment, Subaru allows him to indulge in that which therefore lifts his mood.
I do find it quite humorous how Subaru calls Reiji of all people “simple-minded”. It could imply back to Reiji’s lack of presence, he doesn’t stick out all that much compared to the others; therefore he could be viewed as bland by both his brothers and us as the audience, so by Reiji declaring that drinking from the neck is best, it wouldn’t stick out all that much - it’s the typical place to bite within most Vampiric fiction -. With this statement from Reiji alongside his more passive presence, “simple” would be the first word to come to mind - if you weren’t aware of the complexities of Reiji’s character, or, from the brothers’ perspective, the inner struggles and complexities of Reiji behind closed doors, it’d be natural to label him as “simple”. With this implication in mind, it could be seen as quite a meta joke from our perspective.
Subaru: Drinking from the neck is too orthodox, it’s boring. Besides, the taste of the blood is too rich, it’s not my cup of tea.
Reiji: ...Is that your way of indirectly ridiculing me?
Subaru: I just meant to say that an old geezer’s tastes are different from mine.
Reiji: O-Old geezer...!? There isn’t that large of an age gap between us!
Subaru: Hah! Then at least your appearance is that of an old geezer! You’re barely any different from our old man. ...When it comes to blood, you see, it’s best when sucked from a woman’s ankle. When you bite her there, you get a perfect view of how she tries to reject you with her entire body.
Shuu: Heh...Hehehe...
Reiji: Shuu! Weren’t you asleep?
Shuu: No, Subaru’s childish lecture on blood-sucking was simply too hilarious...I couldn’t help myself.
Subaru: Haah!? Child, you say!?
Shuu: If you’re going to call Reiji an old man, then so am I, right? In that case, you’re nothing but a brat. A child.
Subaru: ...Ugh.
It can be implied that when Reiji uses the interrogative, “Is that your way of indirectly ridiculing me?“ he’s not just asking if he’s wrong, he’s posing the question “are you mocking me ?”; therefore, ‘ask’ in this context could be implied to mean ‘demand’ instead - it all depends on how you yourself interpret the tone of this dialogue -. However, with Reiji’s character in mind, it could be inferred that he’s almost offended by Subaru’s comment, as if to say “are you saying what I’m doing is wrong ?” and we all know that Reiji loathes being wrong or seen as “simple-minded” as Subaru put it; Reiji’s a character who enjoys using his intelligence to overpower his prey and back them into a corner mentally - therefore, to have that pulled into question would most likely cause some form of offence to Reiji, he’s intelligent and he’s a man of tradition; I doubt he’d enjoy having that mocked. It also links us back to his ‘retraining’ of Yui, throughout Reiji’s route in HDB as Yui barely calls out Reiji’s behaviour and she never mocks him whereas the brothers do; most likely if Yui went against Reiji she’d be punished with something truly abhorrent. However, in other routes (I’ll pick Laito’s HDB route since it’s the closest to Reiji’s in terms of psychological abuse) she ‘bites’ back a lot more - such as when she quite literally bites Laito’s lip when he kisses her against he will...and what does Laito do ? He plays it off and treats Yui like a game - both Laito and Reiji treat Yui as a psychological game, something to crack and break until they’re subservient, in essence, it’s a game of cat and mouse to these two. I wanted to compare this little section because compared to Laito, Reiji wouldn’t stand for Yui fighting back and would most likely view it as ‘bad manners’, later punishing her for it. My point is that Laito’s the type of character who doesn’t let mockery or resistance offend him, or get under his skin, whereas Reiji is, and I think that’s due to the mockery he endures from his brothers - Reiji is quite often the ‘butt of the joke’ whereas Laito is not and treatment like this would undoubtedly effect Reiji’s tolerance towards his siblings as well as Yui’s resistance.
I also like Shuu’s interjection here; how he calls Subaru a child when Reiji is called an “old geezer”. It’s not just Shuu saying that Subaru’s the youngest and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, it’s also Shuu retaliating since he’s just indirectly been called old, but it’s also Shuu inadvertently defending Reiji. By Shuu naming Subaru a “brat”, he’s unintentionally defending Reiji and fighting his corner even though he’s most likely only trying to save his own feelings since he’s the eldest and he’s basically just been told through Subaru’s remark at Reiji that he also looks like an “old geezer”. Shuu - who we know likes to wind up Reiji - has just haphazardly defended the brother he has so many quarrels with; it’s both unintentionally funny and quite endearing.
Shuu: In that case, I can understand why you would suggest something as childish as drinking from the ankle.
Subaru: Then which place do you prefer!?
Shuu: Me...? I...Let’s see...It has to be the chest, right? Piercing through the veins closest to the heart and sucking her blood suits my tastes best. The blood flowing from those veins is so sweet, it’s almost like syrup, you know?
Subaru: Che...So you are an old geezer after all!
Shuu: At least call it an adult’s acquired taste, youngster.
Reiji: Okay, no fighting! Besides, don’t be engaging in such ridiculous quarrels here, but take them elsewhe...
Laito: ...I can’t help but like drinking from the thighs best, I suppose~ Drinking from a young maiden’s second softest spot makes the blood slightly greasy, it sticks to my throat...Nfu~
Subaru: Che...Laito! You were awake as well?
I’d like to bring attention to the aposiopesis that Reiji uses within his dialogue here. Aposiopesis is the device of suddenly breaking off in speech, which can be found within “elsewhe...”, it shows how Reiji’s speech is trailing off in tone, but if we pair it with the ellipsis at the beginning of Laito’s sentence, it can be interpreted that Reiji is once again being interrupted by his siblings, and with the inclusion of the ellipsis at the end of Reiji’s dialogue, it can be further implied that he knows he’s about to be ‘cut off’; hence why aposiopesis has been included, Reiji trails his sentence off - possibly growing quieter depending on how you interpret ellipsis - because he knows he’s going to be interrupted again. It’s a regular occurrence for Reiji’s character to be cut off by his brothers or just ignored in general. I didn’t want to say too much about this section or derail into a tangent since I’d just be repeating myself but I did want to mention the aposiopesis.
Laito: I was finally thinking of getting some rest, but you guys’ started talking about something interesting so I woke up again.
Reiji: In that case, please use this opportunity to take your leave! All of you have been given your own, proper room after all!
Kanato: Uu... *sniffles* ...Shut up...! I can’t sleep...I CAN’T SLEEP LIKE THIS!! Teddy...My Teddy is saying he can’t sleep either...It upsets him!
Reiji: ...! Don’t suddenly scare me like that!
Kanato: I...Such thing...Whether it’s the neck or the feet, the chest or the thighs...I don’t care about all of that!
*THUD*
Kanato: I...The place I like best...are the fingers. In particular, the little finger - which looks as if you could just bite it off - is my preference.
Subaru: Basically...What you’re trying to say is that, right? You might just accidentally eat the whole pinkie ー That’s what you mean, isn’t it?
Kanato: Fufu...Haha...What happens, happens, but it’d be twice as delicious.
Shuu: Ugh...I’ll pass up on human flesh.
Laito: Likewise. Picking out the bones is a pain after all. If I were to eat it, it would have to be properly seasoned.
Something to note here is Kanato’s outburst, as soon as Reiji proposes that they all retire back to their rooms so that he may indulge in his own privacy Kanato has one of his famous outbursts - which then scares Reiji -. However, once Kanato begins to talk again, he brings the conversation back to blood drinking; the very ‘argument’ that Reiji was trying to dissipate between Shuu, Subaru and Laito. It not only displays that Kanato uses his violent emotions to get his own way (as per usual with him) but that Reiji’s interests and pleas are of no concern to anyone - Kanato has basically just shut Reiji up in order to carry on the conversation at hand between the other siblings; it genuinely shows how dismissive of Reiji all the brothers are.
Reiji: Right, right. Putting this talk about flesh and bones aside, now that you are all awake, hurry up and...
Ayato: ...If you’re gonna suck her, it has to be the nape, right? I don’t like it to be too fatty. Something a little more refreshing is exactly my taste!
Reiji: ...!? Ayato, you too...
Subaru: But that’s lacking, don’t you think? Then it feels like you barely even had any.
Ayato: That’s not true! To make up for it, you just have to drink plenty!
Reiji: Well, Ayato has always been quantity over quality. That being said...
Shuu: Jeez...Both Ayato and you guys don’t know a thing.
Reiji: Shuu...Please don’t stir up this conversation again...
Kanato: ...Saying we don’t know...*sniff* That’s just...Too cruel! Both me and Teddy...*sniffle* did our best to come up with an answer! Yet you completely disregard it like that...
At this point it’s growing quite clear that Reiji’s giving up on the conversation - he has his little quip at Ayato’s expense, but aside from that and the usage of ellipsis and aposiopesis, it can be implied that Reiji’s grown tired of trying to be assertive towards his brothers; opting to replace his strict orders with reluctant pleas - something we tend not to see during his actual route - and it shows the difference between Reiji and his siblings.
Laito: Exactly! Right above the chest is standard just like the neck, isn’t it? Or perhaps the eldest son standing at the head of this long-lasting Sakamaki household has no other choice but to protect such traditions?
Shuu: Are you trying to insult me? A ‘fake’ pervert like yourself probably doesn’t even understand the profound meaning behind standards.
Laito: A fake pervert? ‘Pretending’, you say?
Reiji: Fine, fine! Who cares if it’s just an act? If you were a true pervert at heart, it would be disgusting anyway. So, everyone, pleaseーー
Ayato: This kind of pisses me off...The way you’re looking down on us. I don’t give a damn ‘bout you being the eldest son of not...The greatest person in this household is this Ore-sama over here!
Shuu: Hah. You’re lame.
Ayato: Aah?
Subaru: He really is. Being the ‘greatest’ or the ‘strongest’, bullshit.
Ayato: What did you say? You wanna fight!?
Subaru: Fine by me. ‘Cause I had my fill earlier...
He cracks his knuckles.
Subaru: ...I’m overflowing with energy now. I need a little something to let off some steam.
First and foremost, I wanted to draw attention to Shuu calling out Laito’s façade, I don’t intend to do a deep dive into the subliminal meaning of this interaction since this is a psychoanalysis of Reiiji but I did think that it was quite funny to see Laito become irritated at the fact that Shuu’s basically just called out his entire defence mechanism with little to no effort at all. Secondly, I like how Reiji chooses to ignore this, his irritation has come back, since by almost removing himself from the conversation at hand, he’s allowed Kanato’s outburst to derail the situation further and allowed for Shuu to cause conflict between the brothers. The exclamations are back and his snappy attitude is coming to the forefront; this can be implied through “Who cares....”. It can be implied that Reiji’s becoming aerated once more since he’s once again trying to control the situation - to no avail again -, everything’s getting out of hand and it’s doing so at a quick pace, and Reiji’s attempting to defuse this; it once again demonstrates Reiji’s control issues that we see quite prominently through his route and his treatment towards Yui.
Reiji: Honestly...So hot-headed. Are you listening to what I’m saying? You lot, I would GREATLY appreciate it if you would all take your leave. Right now!
Laito: Nfu~ If you want us to leave, you might have no other choice but to use brute force.
Reiji: Haah...?
Kanato: Horrible...Telling us to leave...Even though we’ve been expressing our will to stay here...Isn’t there a single place for me and Teddy in this whole manor...!?
Reiji: Hold up, I never said that. I’m simply telling you to rest in your own roー
*CRASH*
Reiji: ...!?
Laito: Ah-ahh~ Here we go.
Ayato: Heh...You vandal! Even if you try to scare me off by destroying our surroundings, you won’t get your way!
*CRASH THUD*
Subaru: Heh! Lame! You’re nothing but a fraud! Nobody has ever thought of you as ‘amazing’ or ‘strong’!
Ayato: What did you just say...!?
*CRASH*
*CLATTER*
The situation quickly devolves into madness and as it does, Reiji’s dialogue reflects that, he emphasises his words alongside his exclamations - and what happens ? It devolves even more, Laito takes this opportunity to aggravate Reiji further by taunting him; and Kanato takes this to an extreme, interpreting Reiji’s words to mean that he [Kanato] has no place within their house and that he doesn’t belong there.
Reiji: Waiー! The manor...The manor will fall apart! Shuu! Didn’t you say that father would be enraged!? Please stop them!
Shuu: Ugh...What a hassle.
Reiji: It isn’t ‘a hassle’!
*SHATTER*
Laito: Hm...But stopping those two once they’re like that is rather difficult, don’t you think?
*THUD*
Laito: More importantly...Shuu...Let’s continue our discussion from earlier.
Shuu: Hm? What do you mean?
Laito: That I’m a fake pervert. I’d like you to explain yourself.
Shuu: What? You’re still talking about that? You’re surprisingly one to hold grudges.
Laito: Nfu~ I get told that a looot~ ...Well then, tell me your reasoning. Depending on what you say, even I won’t forgive you.
*CRASH*
I genuinely enjoy how Reiji becomes frantic at the realisation that their father would be “enraged” by their reckless commotion. It not only displays how much Reiji’s values his father’s opinion but it also removes him further from his brothers - the rest of them could care less about what their father thinks or feels, yet Reiji persists, he doesn’t want to displease him because he wants to be acknowledged by him; it all brings us back to his raging CEN, but at this point Reiji’s losing his usual calm composure - his composure drops and his control of the situation decreases. The situation has become out of hand and Reiji’s becoming quite desperate for the commotion to end; I think that’s why he states “It isn’t ‘a hassle’!“, Reiji’s genuinely asking for help in order to rein his brothers in. Additionally, the notion that Reiji uses single quotation marks in regards to Shuu’s statement could imply that Reiji’s showing some form of sass towards the situation, and what happens ? Latio cuts in - meaning Reiji is promptly ignored and avoided - so that his and Shuu’s ‘discussion’ can continue, which then spurs another argument to arise.
Reiji: Ugh...These two are starting an argument as well...Just cut it out already!
Kanato: *sniff sniff* Why is...everyone...so loud!? Shut up! SHUT UP!! I don’t understand!
Reiji: You are plenty noisy yourself!
Kanato: ...! That’s why...That’s why you tried to drive us out earlier, didn’t you?
Reiji: ...! ‘Drive out’, you say? It might have sounded that way but...
Kanato: You’re admitting it, huh? You just admitted it, didn’t you? That you tried to get rid of us!
Reiji: Ah...So what!? I simply wanted to enjoy a cup of tea by myself, that’s all!
Kanato: Shut up!! ...In that case, please brace yourself. Teddy, he is the embodiment of all evil trying to strip us of the place we belong. You don’t have to hold back, okay?
Reiji: Aaah, come on! Why...Why does it always turn out like this!??
Kanato: Teddy...GO!!
*Pow pow pow pow pow*
Reiji: ...Don’t attack me with your stuffed bear! Aah, please!! Just cut me some slack! Whatever happens, don’t come crying to me afterwards...!!
*CRAAAASH*
ーー THE END ーー
Something that I wanted to place emphasis on is the notion that Reiji and Kanato are the only pair left. What I mean by this, is that it’s quite apt for these two to be the only ones left - we know that Reiji is treated as an outcast by his brothers for his dictatorial personality and strict need for rules and control however, Kanato is also viewed as an outcast by his brothers too, most prominently Ayato and Subaru with Ayato calling him a hysteric” for his unbearable personality and incomprehensible actions. Notice the similarity ? None of the brothers can bear to be around Reiji due to his uptight personality and none of the brothers can stand to be around Kanato due to his mania. The outcasts are grouped together however, it’s also the dynamic of a parental figure and a child being presented too since Reiji tends to look after Kanato - it’s a mature and immature dynamic -.
I also wanted to bring attention to when Kanato exclaims “I don’t understand!”, it’s quite sad from his perspective since it showcases how much of an outcast he is compared to the other brothers, again something we see with Reiji. However, I like how Reiji genuinely shouts back at him with “You are plenty noisy yourself!“, it shows Kanato’s lack of self-awareness and it also displays Reiji’s irritation - he’s lost complete control of the situation and now he’s watching from the side-lines unable to do anything because no one will bother to listen to him. I also wanted to give weight to when Reiji says “It might have sounded that way but...” towards Kanato’s statement as it can be implied that in this moment, Reiji is attempting to show compassion towards Kanato yet he quickly justifies his actions; it presents the implication that Reiji is willing to compromise but he will remain logical towards whatever circumstance is thrown his way - much like how he is with Cordelia within his route -.
Additionally, the image of Reiji being attacked by Teddy is honestly hilarious. But, I wanted to bring attention to Reiji’s last piece of dialogue: “Just cut me some slack! Whatever happens, don’t come crying to me afterwards...!!”. It poses the implication that Reiji is practically pleading with Kanato to leave him be - he’s worn out and frustrated - but it’s the implication that Kanato goes to Reiji when something goes wrong that’s somewhat endearing to me, and it reinforces what I implied earlier, that there’s a parent/child dynamic between the two - one outcast looking out for the other, if you will -. I just think that it’s quite a sweet implication to make between the two given that they are ‘pushed out’ compared to their siblings.
In conclusion, Reiji is mostly dismissed and ignored by his brothers, and can be implied to only be viewed as the butler façade he tends to display; and if you think about it, it’s honestly quite sad, but it gives us the understanding as to why he’s so controlling of Yui and why he craves attention and acknowledgement for his actions. If his brothers are barely willing to appreciate Reiji’s ‘good manners’, then it can be inferred that he’s going to try and find it somewhere else; that being through Yui and her kind nature which Reiji promptly takes advantage of in order to quell his own needs.

how would pet!au Shu and Subaru react to being put into a breeding program? this is the first interaction he's ever had with a female, and also the closest thing to gentleness and actually getting to feel good
Oh, I like this. OwO I’ve never done much breeding stuff in Pet Au...
. . .
Shuu
• He both hates it and clings to the minuscule connection with everything he has. Shuu is, of course, terrified of getting close to anyone. All he can think is that they’ll eventually be torn away. He doesn’t care if he’s used to breed or not (at least it gives him a purpose), but the part where he has to interact so intimately with another vampire freaks him out. He’s incredibly uncomfortable with having to be so close to someone, especially when he knows they’ll only be taken away in the end.
• When it comes to interacting with his breeding partner, Shuu tries to stay distant. He doesn’t want to get attached. He’s so, so scared of getting close to someone only to have them torn away, so he does his best to just do the breeding part and not let himself develop any more feelings than that. But whether he likes it or not, Shuu is desperate for contact, and having so much physical closeness with someone makes him fall into attachment against his will. He comes to depend on his breeding partner way too much, if only because he has nothing else.
Subaru
• He absolutely despises the idea of being used for something like that. After seeing the toll that breeding took on his mother first-hand, Subaru can’t stand the idea of being made to hurt someone else like that. But he, of course, has no choice but to do as he’s told, no matter how much it leaves him feeling filthy and disgusted with himself. Subaru is determined to make it as easy on his partner as possible and keep his distance from them. They’re going to hate him for it, after all.
• When he actually has to interact with his fellow breeder, though, Subaru can’t help but be gentle. After everything he’s been through and everything he saw his mother go through as well, his gentle side comes out full-force when he’s with the person who might as well be his mate. Subaru winds up incredibly protective of them, desperate for their forgiveness and approval, and so, so attached. This person is the only closeness he’s ever had, so no matter how much he hates the situation they’re in, he can’t help but feel the need to have intimacy with another living being.

DIABOLIK LOVERS MORE, BLOOD Official Visual Fanbook Short Story: Sakamaki Shuu VS Mukami Yuma
Source: Diabolik Lovers More, Blood Official Visual Fanbook
Release date: 2013
Disclaimer: Both sides portray the same story, but from a different perspective. The first story is written from Shuu’s POV, while the second portrays the events from Yuma’s POV.
SHUU’S SIDE
This is beyond embarrassing. I did not think I would ever look this utterly pathetic in front of this guy.
“Fuck...What is this...? Edgar...What...did you do...?”
“Don’t call me that. I didn’t do anythin’, really. I mean, you’re the one who collapsed and came rollin’ our way, remember?”
While suppressing the waves of nausea as the world spins in the front of my eyes, I recall that was most definitely the case.
While I was gazing up at the night sky on the rooftop, this guy showed up...with that woman by his side as well, and before I knew it, I was feeling like this.
I wonder if Reiji snuck something in my food?
No...That’s not it. There’s a full moon tonight.
And she is right in front of me...All the conditions are met.
I can’t quite explain why, but I just want blood.
“Kuh...Blood...Fuck...Haah...”
“Shuu-san, are you oka...Ah!?”
I tug onto her collar as she came to check up on me out of concern.
And then, I thoughtlessly crashed my lips into hers, biting down.
“...!?”
Edgar, no Yuma, unable to process the situation. simply stands here in silence.
I feel frustrated over being the only one having to embarrass myself, so I purposedly taunt him with my words:
“...Yuma...You should have a taste as well...That greedy look in your eyes really has not changed one bit. If you want it, then just admit it already...I’ll let you have some.”
“Aah!? Fuck off! Don’t be playin’ Mr. Rich Kid forever!”
However, I did not fail to notice him averting his gaze.
He is a Vampire now as well after all.
There is no way he would be able to resist the scent of her high-quality blood.
“Come on, you better hurry up...or I’ll suck her dry...”
“Che...Fuck!”
After spitting out those words, he looms over her from behind.
She is sandwiched between us.
Long, distant memories flash through my brain at high speed.
Back then, I would have never thought we’d ever find ourselves in this kind of situation.
“Haah, damnnit...I’m not diggin’ this, Sow...Yer blood’s to blame, for everything!”
Yuma groans those words as if to remind himself, while ripping up her clothes with one hand.
And then, he roughly plunges his fangs into her shoulder.
“Nice position you’re in...You lewd woman.”
“Stop...!”
My lips curve into a small smile as I watch her ride on top of me while Yuma sucks her blood from behind.
I doubt I would usually consent to this kind of situation.
However, I felt undescribly aroused by watching her fall apart by Yuma’s ministrations.
I tugged her head closer in one swift movement, and sink my fangs inside her nape.
“...How does feel, huh? To get messed up by a Vampire from both the front...and the back...?”
While softly whispering those words, I thrust my fangs inside her skin once more.
I want more and more.
I no longer care about where I am, or who this other person indulging in her blood is.
While experiencing those feelings of neglience, I close my eyes.
When I do, my chest shortly aches for some reason.
Without trying to figure out what that meant, I simply focused on indulging in her blood.
ーー End.
YUMA’S SIDE
ーー His figure overlaps with the person in my distant memories. To me, he was someone I looked up to...As well as someone I envied just slightly.
“Fuck...What is this...? Edgar...What...did you do...?”
“Don’t call me that. I didn’t do anythin’, really. I mean, you’re the one who collapsed and came rollin’ our way, remember?”
I am caught a little off guard by his sudden changed behavior.
The moment I reached the rooftop after following the Sow, this guy collapsed in front of his eyes as he was there wasting away his time.
When I take a quick glance up at the night sky, I realize that there’s a full moon tonight.
That explained everything. No wonder I had been feeling thirsty as well.
“Kuh...Blood...Fuck...Haah...”
I make eye contact with her while at the same time observing how that guy would crawl over the ground in sheer pain.
This state of agony from a strong craving for blood was no different from that of a starving stray dog.
While I think he looks pathetic, I somehow feel a little unsettled as well.
For some reason, it felt really uncomfortable to have the image of him I had inside of my head rumble before crumbling apart.
“Shuu-san, are you oka...Ah!?”
While I was preoccupied by my own feelings, Shuu had wasted no time to grab her collar and suck her blood.
The scent of her blood spreads through the air, tickling my nostrils.
I could feel myself salivating.
“...Yuma...You should have a taste as well...That greedy look in your eyes really has not changed one bit. If you want it, then just admit it already...I’ll let you have some.”
I am left speechless by those words which make me wonder if he just read my mind.
“Aah!? Fuck off! Don’t be playin’ Mr. Rich Kid forever!”
As I scream at him, I know that those words are nothing but a bluff.
I cannot control my desires.
Once again, I get a taste of the pain I despised so much back as a human.
I hate how I cannot fight back against this natural instinct inside of me.
“Come on, you better hurry up...or I’ll suck her dry...”
“Che...Fuck!”
Shuu has caught on to that, and is using it to his advantage to tempt me, trying to lure me in.
I want to resist. I want to fight back against these stupid desires, and abstain from indulging to my heart’s content.
Even though I feel that way...
“Haah, damnnit...I’m not diggin’ this, Sow...Yer blood’s to blame, for everything!”
Instead, I put the blame on her. Like the scumbag I am.
Despite feeling that way, I rip off her clothes with one hand.
And I give in to my desire, plunging my fangs in her shoulder.
“Nice position you’re in...You lewd woman.”
Shuu’s words echo in my ears.
I am honestly in no position to judge him for those gag-inducing words.
Right now, I am basically a bloodthirsty beast.
Once I had a taste, I can no longer stop.
Just like a stream of water after the dam has been broken.
Despite feeling disgusted by it, I continue to suck her blood.
In the meantime, Shuu sinks his fangs inside her nape once more as well.
“...How does feel, huh? To get messed up by a Vampire from both the front...and the back...?”
His words are exactly what you would expect from an aristocrat. He is entirely different from me. Being a natural predator, he must feel a sense of dignity. I did not realize that as a child. I would always just focus on the outside, envying him. I didn’t think I would come to that realization now...
As those thoughts fill my mind, I pierce her skin with my fangs once more.
While I tell myself,
That I have not had nearly enough blood to feel satisfied.
ーー End.

uhhH Beyblade for the fandom ask game
The first character I first fell in love with: ken midori!! i still love pretty much everything about this character (/p ofc), and he (along with daina) was one of the main reasons i stuck with the show early on. he had a really interesting character arc and i’m like 99% sure Middle School Me cried when he left. still can’t believe they pretty much completely got rid of him after season 1 was over, tho, smh my head ://
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: ruwei was Just Some Guy until i got a few more episodes in and realized his facial expressions and mannerisms are super similar to someone i know irl (who also happens to be a shortish violent individual with long braided hair and a bias towards birds n the color blue). now he’s more than just some guy. he’s the SAME flavor of just some guy as one of my oldest and closest friends :)
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: idk? i like a lot of the characters in some way or another. i don’t like lui as much as a lot of other people, though i don’t hate him either. and a lot of the protags (except drum) were Not Really My Faves ig.
The character I love that everyone else hates: bro idek who‘s super hated that i Also Like. who do you people even collectively agree to hate aside from like ashtem
The character I used to love but don’t any longer: i am neither a coward nor a fool. i have a list of faves that i continually add to.
The character I want to be like: listen. i think this happened subconsciously, but my fashion sense nowadays is basically what would happen if you put shuu and xhaka’s wardrobes in the same closet. i have to blame beyburst for every outfit and color scheme i have ever thrown together so i don’t have to live knowing it was a choice made free of outside influence 💔😔🤙
The character I’d slap: yugo nansui (derogatory (affectionate)). i want to fight him in a parking lot but that parking lot has to be in front of a cafe so i can take him there afterward. the duality of mankind.
A pairing that I love: i literally have not shipped anything since like 2016, and even then, i had no concrete pairings. it was more of a “haha what if this happened? let’s give it some thought *moves on immediately after*” so i don’t really think i’m well equipped to answer this lol
A pairing that I despise: shuvalt. i do not care for shuvalt at all and have never really seen that being something that works out. this is coming from my experience as That Guy Everyone Talks To When They Have Relationship Issues And, Later, Need Someone To Talk Them Through Their Breakup.
anyways yeah that‘s about it! thanks for the ask lol

I wonder if Shuu constant desire for sexual intercourses isn't due to his depression, because a lot of ppl suffering of depression tend to have zero to extreme libido, so what if Shuu is using his horniness and the thought he have that women only wants him for his body as a way to protect himself ? Just like he's doing with distancing himself from everything and everyone. Because I'm seeing a huge parallel between him and Laito. Laito's perversity is a character because the real him is fragile and he feel empty and doesn't like sex at all because when he's drunk he becomes a prude. In a way, Laito seems as depressed as Shuu but with a different way of coping and because they have different stories, and Laito's past pushed him to be how he is, a "fake pervert" as a way to protect himself even if he isn't genuinely horny, while Shuu really is maybe also to protect himself from things. He's more on the physical side of things and reject absolutely everything if it concern himself and what's happening in his head. Which can also explain why he have a short temper and despise when ppl try to outsmart him and talk to him in a more personal way. Maybe the real Shuu is horny but his depression makes it worse ?? Idk I may be saying a bunch of bs, its just a theory
((My theory is no different from yours but with subtle differences, each of the boys represents a sin, is that not it? So, I see that the sin they represent is caused by their depressive station
(( Laito being a pervert (caused by depression so he creates this fake persona);
(( Ayato being Pride (When in reality he is insecure, but his trauma caused him to act such a way)
(( Reiji being Envy (Caused by the lack of attention he received, so... His personal trauma again)
(( Subaru being Wrath (Caused by the fear, and his mother’s words. Again, trauma)
(( Kanato being Gluttony (Depression causes compulsions, and Kanato found that being childish, that reads, liking “sweets”, might have got his mother to pay more attention to him so Kanato is stuck in the “Act like a kid to be noticed and receive love” stage. At least that is what I think...)
(( Shu being Sloth (Caused by the trauma of losing his friend Shu become completely listless and uninterested by anything)
(( During the Vampire Juice CD when they all get drunk, we have a glimpse of their original selves. Like how Laito becomes a prude and Shu started to laugh at everything - being happy, but by the end, he still tries to harass the MC wanting to “Play with her”, so his perversion is still there, unlike Laito. Like how Reiji shows to be actually very sensitive and emotional, as far as saying that: “Shu being so listless makes Reiji want to cry” or something like that
(( That Shu being so “useless” makes Reiji sad. While Shu, being drunk, kept his perversion and sadistic side; going as far as scaring Reiji just to see his crying face and laugh at it
((They getting drunk show their true self, and clearly, Shu is far from being listless, if anything, he is like his kid self... Everything amuses him.
((So, funny enough... With or without depression, Shu would still be sadistic and a pervert. But not Lazy
((Without depression, Laito would be respectful, honest, and not a pervert
((Without depression, Reiji would be more emotional, be less like Beatrix (As Cordelia clearly said that Reiji has a lot in common with Beatrix, So... We can say Cordelia’s bully really affected Beatrix)
(( Their “sin” and their “main characteristic” are actually the sign of how broken they all are. That is what happened to them, their fake self, their fake persona is that character we mainly see that they use to escape the abuse or escape being hurt
((Like for Shu show “no interest” is the best so he won’t lose anything ever again.
((So, yeah. Their main “characteristics” like Shu being Lazy, Laito being a Pervert, and so on... Is a facade. Or is a characteristic born from trauma.

Who We Were Before (Levi x OC)
Summary: Three girls living in a society where ghouls are despised by humans. They must find out who they are in order to be with the people they love. Lust, jealousy, unrequited love. And the need to fight for what they believe in. Will they hate the CCG forever? Or will some people change their beliefs? Can they break the cycle of hatred that has been push upon them? Or are they just what everyone thinks? Monsters.
Word Count: 2.2K
When the world has labeled you a monster, you can't help but fit into that role No matter how you feel, you will always be an ant they must crush under their boot. How could she be any different? When she looks into the cracked mirror, all she can see is a ghoul. The red in her eyes is persistent as she tries to keep her hunger down. Her stomach growls angrily at her, as she looks across the way to see her neighbor closing his blinds. She thinks how easy it would be to finish him, nobody would know. He's old and has no family, he's alone. Just like her, she wonders if when people look at her they see what they see in him. Ugly, unwilling, all alone. A reject to all society holds dear. She shoves those intrusive thoughts aside and refocuses on the task at hand. She can hunt later, but now she needs to get ready for work.
Yomo usually carries some extra food on him in case of emergencies. But his food comes with a cost, a cost that she'll never hear the end of. Besides, she's not one to beg. If she's lucky Itori will let her off early and she can snag a drunk in a back alleyway. She finishes pulling on her white button down shirt and checks her appearance in the mirror. She has the same sunken eyes, the same messy mane of blonde hair. Her curls are harder to manage nowadays since she has such little strength. She really should start taking better care of herself. How can she love herself when nobody else does.
The walk to the bar is usually a lonely one but for some reason, tonight the streets are bustling and crowded. Her stomach twists painfully as the smell of human flesh wafts into her nostrils. She's so focused on controlling her hunger she doesn't see the small child in front of her. The small girl crashes into her and smiles apologetically up at her. She looks at her small frame and thinks about how easily she could crush her bones. With great self restraint she pushes past her, the child whimpers and calls out to her mother.
She reaches the bar and like always it is mostly empty, except for the usual trio that sat perched upon the barstools. At first she was apprehensive of the older male ghouls, but overtime she's come to respect them greatly. Itori stands to greet her with a wide smile, although she can see Yomo behind her with an irked expression on his face.
"You're late." Yomo quipped, setting down his wine glass harshly.
"Won't happen again." she said, shooting a cold look at Yomo. He huffed and took a sip of his blood wine, averting his gaze. As she settled behind the bar, preparing herself for a long boring shift, Uta held his glass out for a refill. She pulls out a bottle of blood wine and pops the cork, the smell washes over her and her stomach growls loudly. Uta chuckles as he tops him off, Yomo looks at her knowingly.
"When was the last time you ate?" Yomo asks with a hint of concern in his voice. She rolls her eyes and pours herself a glass to tide her over.
"Don't worry about it, I've got it under control." she says not meeting the tall ghoul's eyes. He reaches into the deep pockets of his trench coat to produce a neatly wrapped package. He slides the package across the bar without another word. She snatches the parcel and unwraps it with urgancey. Itori chuckles as the young woman scarfs down the bloody hunk of meat.
"Geez Emi take it easy, not like it's going anywhere!" Itori teases as she swirls her wine in her glass. Uta chuckles at Itori's jab and watches Emi wolf down the food, her eyes dark, irises glowing red. Yomo clicks his tongue and frowns at Emi, who was now wiping the corners of her mouth free of blood.
"Always such a lady." Uta sighs wistfully as he holds out a handkerchief for Emi. She accepts the napkin and wipes the remaining blood off her chin daintily in spite of Uta's remark. She then turns to take stock of the alcohol, even though it's rarely used, only kept in case a human patron comes through. Her pointless task is interrupted by the chime of the familiar bell. She turns to see who has entered, her eyes widening at the sight of three familiar faces. Reiner leads the trio into the small space, all of them wearing matching suits. Emi quirked a brow and smirked as they sat down a few seats away from the older ghouls.
"What brings you to this side of town?" Emi inquired as she poured them some blood wine. Emi hadn't seen the younger ghouls in some time, almost a full year now.
"What, we can't come visit our dear friend?" Reiner smirked as he accepted the glass Emi handed to him.
"Bullshit." Emi smiled at him playfully, leaning across the bar.
"You caught me." Reiner chuckled, holding his hands up in surrender.
"So what do you want?" Emi asked, her eyes roaming over the trio, they'd changed a lot.
"We have a job for you if you're interested." Annie spoke up, swirling the blood around the delicate glass.
"Depends on how dirty the work is." Emi sighed, grabbing her own glass to take a sip.
"Oh it's dirty alright." Reiner said with that same smirk that made her want to sock him in that square jaw of his.
"Not interested." The blonde says, going back over to top off Uta who has a large smile on his face as well.
"We can offer you money." Bertlot says, his eyes glued to the bar.
"What do you take me for, a prostitute?" She asks him, her cheeks turned slightly upward. Annie gives her a small chuckle, not into her games that she usually likes to play with the trio.
"Will you do it or not?" Annie asks again, more demanding than before.
"If i do, this will be the last time." she says, looking at the three.
"Fine. This will be a good send off." Bertolt says, finally meeting her eyes.
The young woman nods, and the muscular boy writes out the address she must go too. Even putting his number on the napkin. He hands it to her, she smiles to him and rips off the part with his digits.
__
Halfway across the dazzling city, an annual ball is commencing. Ghouls from all over have come to take part in the feast that Shuu Tsukiyama has prepared. The event is well known and very prestigious, only the richest members of the ghoul society are present. The patrons fill the balconies eagerly awaiting for the main event to begin. Two girls walk into the ring, their hands intertwined, looking eerily similar. They wore pristine white dresses, framing their delicate features. They almost looked like dolls. Everything matched, perfect carbon copies, even their masks were identical. Mainly featuring perfectly hand crafted masquerade masks that matched their dresses. Dainty lace lined the bottom of the mask, falling onto their noses, leaving the lower half of their faces exposed.
Shuu flicked his wrist to signal for the gates to be opened. The crowd cheered loudly, clapping and stomping and shaking the arena. A large man came stumbling out of the darkness, clearly he was owned by one of the patrons. He laughed at the sight of the two ghouls, knowing that he could take them easily. They looked to Shuu, who gave them an encouraging nod. The two broke apart and ran along the outskirts of the arena. The oafish man turned his head sluggishly as he tried to follow the girl's quick movements. He lashed out at the girl to his right, who easily dodged his slow attack. The other rushed in from behind and leapt up onto his broad back, wrapping her legs around his thick neck. He choked and stumbled backwards, his fat fingers clawing at the girl's creamy thighs.
The girl in front of him unleashed her blue bikaku kagune and swept him off his feet.
"No fair!" the man screamed as he threw the girl off his neck. She slid in a puddle of blood, her white dress now stained in the dark liquid. She snarled and unleashed her red and blue bikaku kagune as she rejoined her twin, the two rushing him from the front. He barely blocked the blue kaguned girl as she lashed out at his large belly. The other girl's punch landed successfully and managed to penetrate his vast stomach. The man choked on his own blood as he fell backwards. The twins stood over him, looking up at their master for his order to finish off the man. Shuu nodded proudly and the two launched into the air, their kagunes flashing in the light as they descended to administer the final blow. The crowd cheered loudly as life drained from the man's eyes, fat tear rolling off his cheeks. They intertwined their fingers once more and bowed as the audience gave them a standing ovation.
The pair retreated into the dark underbelly of the building, leaving the loud arena behind them. With an exhilarated chuckle one of the girls pulled the white wig and draped it over her arm.
"That was awesome!" She giggled as she shook the excess blood from the wig.
"It was sloppy." the other snarled as she ripped the wig off and shook out her dirty blonde hair.
"Don't be so uptight, Shuu told us to have fun with this one." she said, placing the wig on a mannequin's head sloppily.
"When you have fun you get careless, and one of these days you'll have too much and get us killed." she reprimanded, reaching to fix the wig and place her own down.
"Lighten up Addy, nobody likes a party pooper." the girl pouted as she pulled her skirt up to inspect the deep gouges that the man had left in her thigh.
"Nobody likes a corpse either, Alice." Addy lashed out, gripping her sister's wrist for her attention. The other girl pulled away as if she'd been burned.
"If I don't have fun then what's the point?" Alice scoffed, smoothing her skirt down.
"Don't tell me you've forgotten. We're in this mess because of grandma, she needs us." Addy says glaring at her sister, not knowing what solicited this behavior.
"It's always about grandma." Alice sighs as she watches some blood drip onto the floor.
"Yeah because she's sick." Addy snapped, her posture tense as she watched her sister.
"Forget about it, I need to go clean up." Alice mumbled as she marched out of the small dressing room to find some bandages. Addy sighed as she watched her disappear into the darkness before turning to inspect her appearance in the mirror.
Alice ran her fingers absentmindedly over the textured cobblestoned walls as she wandered through the basement. She froze when she noticed a dark silhouette standing outside of the bathroom. The shadow pushed off the wall when he noticed the girl's presence.
"Nice work out there." his smooth voice cut through the thick silence. She dared to take a few steps closer to the mysterious boy, thoroughly intrigued.
"Thanks..." she said carefully as she stepped into the dim light that was barely illuminating the corridor.
"Shame you're wasting your talents here." his teeth flashed as his lips peeled back in an endearing smirk. She chuckled nervously and shifted her weight a bit awkwardly.
"Where do you think they'd be more useful?" Alice asked, playing into the stranger's alluring aura.
"There's a group called Aogri, you can do whatever you want when you want to. I think you'd fit in nicely." he spoke slowly as he closed the space between them. Alice stood tall as she tried to not fall into his deep purple eyes.
"You wouldn't even have to wear those silly costumes. If you're interested meet me at the abandoned mall in the 1st ward." he said softly as he brushed a lock of her blond hair off her cheek. Her breath caught in her throat as she dipped her head to hide her blush. He chuckled and dropped his hand, much to her disappointment.
"Alice I-" Addy froze, a roll of gauze in her hand as she took in the scene before her.
"Who are you?" her voice turned hostile at the sight of the stranger.
"The name's Ayato." he replied, stepping away from Alice, who seemed to be in a daze.
"I don't care what your name is, what are you doing with my sister?" she snarled, stepping between the male and her sister protectively."
"He's just offering us a job." Alice said, snagging Addy by the back of her dress.
"I don't give a damn." Addy snarled, still looking at the boy accusingly. Ayato held his hands up in surrender as he took a few healthy steps backwards.
"You know where to find me if you change your mind." he winked at Alice before disappearing into the shadows. Addy huffed and steered Alice into the bathroom to clean her wounds.

The Sakamakis as Parents
I got an ask for some Pregnant Yui headcanons and for the brothers as fathers but I accidentally deleted it. I'm not that great at headcanons so this came out as more of an analysis because as usual I am way too passionate about looking at a fictional series through a realistic lens ><. Be prepared, this won't be a popular opinion. This is based on the og dialovers personalities from Haunted Dark Bridal.
So, the Sakamakis all have issues with control, and they use fear and intimidation as a way to keep that control. They've done that for hundreds of years, and as unpleasant as it is to think about because we love these characters, they probably aren't going to change their sadistic abusive behaviors just because they become fathers.
In HDB, Yui didn't change the brothers with her love. That kind of thing came in later games. In HDB, she had to change herself in order to survive. She had to throw away her religion, her sense of self, to adapt to the particular brother that she chose. The brothers weren't the ones who changed -- and they remained abusive all the way through.
And I don't think they would be any different if they were to become fathers.
I do believe that all of them would feel far more protective of Yui and their children.. but they aren't going to suddenly turn into men who have mutual respect and love for Yui. They see Yui as a possession, someone they own, and I think there's a good chance they'd view their children the same way.
Obviously I don't think they'd be that way all the time. Even in the game they aren't always abusive; as with all abusers, they have their moments. And maybe those moments would be more frequent with their children. But being a parent is a trying thing even on the best of days. I worry how they would be on days where kids are being kids, pressing all the wrong buttons. I cannot imagine any of the brothers dealing with that in a healthy, calm, disciplined way that validates their children in a positive manner.
I don't think they'd treat a pregnant Yui much different either. They've never learned how to behave selflessly, and they've never been around pregnant humans. They aren't going to be aware of Yui's needs, nor be willing to give up their own needs to serve hers. (The exception to this would probably be Reiji. He would likely read everything there is to know about pregnancy and would ensure that Yui got proper rest and nutrition. He might rub her feet out of necessity to help the cervix ripen rather than to help her feel better. Subaru too might treat her with more care, though I could also see him avoiding her, afraid that he might ruin the child inside her or that it might be a monster just like him.)
Yui would do the best she could, and she would try to make things as good as she could for the kids, but parenting is the hardest job in the world -- and she would have to do it while fending off abuse herself.
Ultimately she wouldn't be able to stop the damage. And in some ways, that could make it worse if the kids didn't understand that she didn't have a choice. They might end up blaming her someday for never leaving, as abused kids often do.
In fact, much of the abuse doesn't even need to happen to the kids. All they have to do is witness it happening to Yui and they'll be traumatized.
The kids would never know what a healthy, respectful marriage would look like. So the cycle of abuse would likely be perpetuated, probably with daughters ending up in abusive relationships and boys ending up as abusers.
Parenthood can also be triggering for parents that were themselves abused in childhood. It is entirely likely that the brothers' trauma would be triggered by their own children. It is not uncommon for children to become the target for their parents' misplaced rage and ptsd that they might have towards themselves and their own parents.
As much as we all wish the opposite were true, I just can't see the brothers suddenly stopping their sadistic and abusive behaviors just because Yui gets pregnant.
So since his went on long enough, here are some individual headcanons I did manage to make:
Shuu:
Leaves most of the parenting to Yui
Might feel anger towards a lazy child (because he sees too much of the things he hates about himself in his kid)
Might have difficulty connecting with a child who bottles his emotions the same way he does, creating a nonexistent father/child relationship
On the flip side, a child with Reiji's work ethic might be disgusted by having Shuu as a father, causing them to have a fractured relationship
Reiji:
Would be an authoritarian, controlling parent
Would be overly critical
Would be critical of Yui's parenting
Would berate Yui in front of the kids
Would openly despise a lazy child
Ayato:
Gets jealous of the time, attention and affection Yui gives his kids
Verbally berates Yui in front of the kids when he is pissed at her
Continues to call her Chichinashi in front of the kids (for those that don't know, that literally means Titless. Imagine your dad calling your mom that ><. Not a great role model for respect)
Would get pissed at his kids if they didn't practically worship him as the best father
Kanato:
Gets ragefully jealous of Yui's attention that the kids take away from him
Would have major issues with a boisterous, loud child
A shy, sensitive child would be even more anxious and fearful with him as a father
Would scream at them for breaking his dolls
Also would teach them how to make dolls
Laito:
Would be too permissive, letting the kids get away with way too much
Would undermine Yui's parenting boundaries, such as letting them stay up way too late and eat candy when she said it was time for bed.
But he would lose his patience with them when they go too far
Continues to call Yui Bitch-chan in front of the kids
Doesn't alter his language in front of the children
Is wildly inappropriate around them (doesn't hide his pevertedness)
I want to say that Laito would never sexually abuse his kids. But I truly don't know about that. For Laito, love equals sex. I wonder if he would have issues understanding where to draw the line.
Subaru:
Would lose his temper around kids when they press his buttons and would later feel guilty about it but not know how to apologize. This would cause rifts with his children
He would probably further avoid them, to avoid "dirtying" them.
Would scare a shy child with his temper making them more fearful
(Also none of this takes into account whether Yui is a vampire or not. That could possibly change the dynamics. Might also make their kids more murderous and messed up. Either way, sad to say but the kids are not gonna turn out fine 😢)

Tokyo Ghoul:re Chapter 172 Review
youtube
It would seem that we are very close to the end of the arc, which also means the end of :re. I sensed part 3 is on the horizon. With that said it begs the question on how much change awaits. It’s all on Kaneki to handle the last and prominent problem. The end is near and Ishida is set to go all out with a bang. With a surprisingly emotional end to Amon and Donato, and the badass and hyped start to Kaneki versus Furuta, it’s certainly going to end strong.
As I said before in my last review, I am a fan of Amon and was really glad that he was able to get a closure with Donato. Hell, he won the fight after a series of beating he received. What I didn’t expect is how emotional this bout turned out to be from the moment Takizawa called him out on his struggle. It is better this way to invest it more than a simple revenge bout.
Donato was decapitated, though able to speak for a while before he dies out. Nico did heal his head to speak for a bit, so that make sense for its universe. It’s eerie how he laughed at his loss though. I understand that fans would find it strange, though Ghoul RC cells and what not is something takes imagination to accept. It was also established that there are Ghouls that could speak without a body for a short while, like how Roma was speaking before Urie sliced her face off to end her for good. I believe it was Ishida’s way to have a strong Ghoul’s slow death moment.
It does reward us a really emotional scene that I wasn’t expecting. If it wasn’t for the last chapter, I would think this is just purely revenge and justice storyline. Donato isn’t asking us to feel bad for him, rather establishing how he has been always in the dark and corrupted side of living. Interesting that he’s the third Clown King that the title was given by the second; not sure if Ishida wants us to theorize it. He’s the definition of what CCG once defined Ghoul as and he capitalized it to the very end.
He was everything that you must hate him as a villain. It helps with the visual of him laughing his way out to death. Every time the panel shots his smiling face, he meant every word of it and it’s disgusting to fathom. He came a long way to meet his fate at the hand of his one and only “son” Amon, which even he said it was the most fitting end. His grin in the last chapter makes sense with how perfect the setup is for him to go out, but Ishida goes in deeper with the later scene.
As his death was going to be a cold and dreary end, Amon adds in for the powerful emotional impact. After learning about his inner feeling, it’s a bit surprising that he kept his straight face for so long. I know this is his enemy, but a small crack on his face can happen. I got a bad feeling that his last words were going to be really sad.
Donato talked about his life as a villain; Amon talked about the memory. Those moments he recollected can be argued to be contradicting to everything what Donato finished saying; it’s night and day difference. The fact he remembers those days prove how much dear they are to him, even after the moment of “betrayal” or rather heartbreak. Those times cannot be erased and it will always be effective to Amon, no matter how much he denies it. It was supposed to be a simple revenge story, but it became sorrowful.
What did it for me is Amon elaborating how he has all the reasons to hate him, despise him, and wanting to get a closure; yet, it was too much to bear the emotions he still have. Amon crying for him is so disheartening yet humanizing. His words never felt so powerful. It’s not easy to kill someone who raised you and it’s even harder when you loved someone dearly. Amon couldn’t hide that fact and that’s why he finally let out his genuine feelings. It’s the development that was long waited, but the cost was always severe.
Donato’s final laugh is really interesting as it leaves on ambiguous note. He was called “father” by his cherished “son” and it makes his story into a masterpiece. He laughs with tears until he finally dies. Was he crying from laughing so hard because of how perfect the story was or crying from sadness because of how he was seen like a father to Amon, who arguably the only child he legitimately cared for?
There were many hints from the past that Donato was always fond of him as well as vice versa despite the disconnecting thoughts. They both found a connection to remember in the orphanage; it’s only fitting for one to end another. I thought this was one of the best death scenes of the series. It was eerie, cold, and teary by the end; I was sold by the reactions. Ishida is at his best when exploiting the emotion in subtle and explicit way.
It’s not really funny but I find it comical that Owl is now stopped, only we still don’t know if it was Eto or not. It left with CCG and Ghouls about to approach it, ending before any confirmation. You got to wait for a bit longer. Ishida is probably at his best when teasing. It’s a small scene but I find it charming with Touka sitting beside Saiko whispering Maman.” Seriously, Touka should adopt her once this arc ends.
It’s evident that this could very well be the final volume of :re when it shifts to the main event: Kaneki versus Furuta. This is the only part left to cover, which would mean that there will be a Part 3. It does make sense seeing how much of a setup this last arc has ensued so far. It would make sense to have another time-skip to clean the awful mess from Dragon. Who knows. Maybe Ishida will pull a Golem Hearts and solve all problems in a matter of a chapter.
I love how the battle begins. First of all, for those who believe Furuta has everything all part of the plan, despite his more or less doubts, fans can be at ease with the fact he was genuinely surprised that Kaneki is alive. Honestly, if he did say it’s part of the plan, that would be too much. Anyway, I was under impression that there will be some serious discussion to be hold but Kaneki waste no time and nearly take his head off.
I laughed at how Furuta reacted; believing Kaneki wants to ask questions. There’s one problem: he don’t care. I feel like Shuu in Part 1: drowned by his badassery. It feels like this Kaneki is the embodiment of all Kanekis before it; basically, when he fights, he becomes Kuroneki as fans would call it. If so, that is awesome. Clearly, he’s done with Furuta’s shit. Poor guy, he thought he’s against a Shounen Protagonist.
I got a good laugh at the narrator while Furuta runs for his life. It opts for describing Furuta’s character in that very moment, only to turn out it’s his monologue. That is pretty funny. He had the nerve to put himself as the hero of the situation. I also laughed at the callback to him versus Eto when he felt like he had some sense of déjà vu. This small scene is rich.
Speaking of déjà vu, it isn’t entirely one until he actually pulls the similar stunt when pleading for mercy, only to surprise attack. Not going to lie, I thought that was it and Kaneki just loses. I don’t think I need chapter 143 déjà vu as well. Also, I thought those Kagune came from Furuta, but it appears to be from Dragon. That is unless Rize is behind the shadow; that would be freaky. It looks like either Furuta knows how to trigger it or it is assisting him.
When it comes to accelerating the hype level, leave it to Ishida to handle it; only thing is he did it too good. It finally comes down to this very moment between the two with everything at stake. Kaneki thankfully wasn’t down and out; only got push back with no sight of fear. Furuta gets his V trademark sword ready and announces his secret: he’s strong. Color me shocked. The hype level goes through the sky with Kaneki getting back up and ends the chapter, cracking his finger. Oh yeah. A complete badass beat down is in order. This is so hype. I must have Unravel ready for the next chapter.
I have to say, the artwork here is outstanding. Ishida went above and beyond here to execute deep heartfelt emotions between Amon and Donato. The details during Kaneki versus Furuta are really good. I like how clean and sense of badass aura oozes out from Kaneki’s line “Don’t care.” The double page is great despite Kaneki getting knocked back; it’s the surrounding that impressed me. It balanced out with the last page that is just pure hype. The dialogues are strong as well; whether it’s the sincerity mood or comical and horror, it has best of both worlds.
This chapter was pretty stellar from beginning to end. I was awed by the emotional end between Amon and Donato with strong dialogue delivery and touching expressive display. Kaneki versus Furuta is off with a strong start with comical and badass reactions. The artwork stepped up and the ending is hype. Seriously, don’t pull chapter 143. I loved it for narrative, but this one doesn’t need it. Go for broke!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐈 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 — raiden. (the reason why i don’t like her is because she killed tomo/kazuha’s friend, and then almost killed tohma and the traveler TWICE)
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 — scaramouche. (i don’t think everyone necessarily hates him, but can find him obnoxious and destructive)
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐈 𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 — (i can’t really think of anyone tbh with you? i mean i still love xiao, kazuha and scaramouche but they’ve been knocked down on their pedestals as soon as i heard about itto and saw him)

Mari's RP Request!
I am an 18 year old aspiring artist and writer - currently admitted to the New York University and have had my motivation from various online artists. I’m not really good with giving intros about myself but here is a brief outlook of who I am and what I do (>‿◠)✌.
I know, I’m not that much of an interesting person but I tried ٩(˘◡˘)۶. So to summarise everything, I am the product of a heated night between a caucasian male and a Japanese female, resulting in somewhat of a cross-bred weaboo hybrid!I usually go by internet alias known as Luna, but my real name is Mari and I have been roleplaying for a decent five years now. I love drawing in my free time and hope to have a degree in multimedia soon enough! My favourite animals are cats (hope to die a crazy old cat lady ≧◠‿◠≦✌) and I am a sucker for dumplings or pizza...maybe there should be a pizza topped with dumplings. It’s the 21st century! How as anyone not thought of that?! Ahem…*clears throat* as you can see, I also have the tendency to rant on which results in me writing down long ass passages...Anyway, let us move on to the wonderful fandoms/original ideas! ᕙ(^▿^-ᕙ)

(Brackets will contain the Original Idea)
❤ Old Ties❤
﴾Two families have been close friends for years now and they have not met each other for a long time. Thus to refresh memories, they decide to plan a camping trip together and bond with one another. Now the two kids of each family (one girl of one family and the boy from the other) have been enemies since childhood and they despise one another. However when they see each other after years, they find each other very attractive but they refuse to voice their opinions out loud. It would not be until the two end up getting lost in the forest with no one around except for one another they they really bond together. ﴿
 My Guardian Spirit❤
﴾In a world of witches, warlocks, magical creatures and hunters, there lies a special group of people capable of seeing these creatures. Not anyone can witness these magical beings since the human realm and the world of the magical creatures are separated from one another. The only gifted humans can witness these beings and they go by the name of the Enlightened Ones. Musa A is an Enlightened One who can see, talk to and interact with the people from the other world without any issue. Since some of these magical creatures enjoy luring around in the human realm, they use their human form and go unnoticed except by the Enlightened ones. However, there is a certain band of hunters known as the Vanquishers who hunt these Enlightened souls for their eyes and thus, there should be someone to protect the Enlightened beings. Here comes the Guardian which is a magical creature from the Other World, assigned by the Ministry of Magic to look after this Enlightened One. Now there is to be no romance between the Enlightened one and the Guardian or else the Guardian would perish ﴿
❤ Boarding School❤
﴾There’s a boarding school where all students, staff and faculty are supernatural beings. Dormitories are separated based on kind. Despite efforts of administration and faculty to make the school harmonious, there are tensions between kinds (e.g. vampires vs werewolves) and even between families within supernatural groups (e.g. vampire vs vampire). If that’s not complicated enough, there are halflings who are caught in the middle of all those tensions at once. Or something along these lines….x3﴿
❤ Reverse Harem❤
Rules❤
❤
Length
❤
I am sure that this is something we all we are concerned about. The one thing I can never accept is a one-liner. My minimum word limit has to be about, 300 words per side of a reply and I will not accept something less than that. (Though 200 is also alright) As for the maximum limit, then I really don't want to put a limit on the talented writers who like to write pages and pages. I personally love novella writing and am always eager to see how long someone can go. The longer, the better. But I would always respect someone’s comfort zone.
❤
Grammar
❤
I would say that my grammar is about a 7 or an 8, but I really don't expect you to be some sort of expert in the language too. I do appreciate something that I could easily read, but I would have a hard time roleplaying with someone with whom I would have to spend hours trying to understand what they sent. I Roleplay in third person and third person only, also….NO TEXT TALK! It's a major pet peeve of mine (´・_・`)
❤
Characters
❤
Have Mary-Sues or Gary-Sues, I love ‘em all! I understand that people want their character to be great and who doesn't? I personally love characters which are very well written and have awesome background stories so why the hell no? Rock your imagination and we would see what we can cook up! Also, I can do Original Characters and Canon both, so feel free to ask which ones you would want me to play. o(`ω´ )o
❤
Limitations
❤
Major topic of argument. You should always accept someone else’s limits and for me...there really aren't that many. I've done roleplays based on paedophiles, necrophiles and some very nasty stuff which I don't want to point out… So if you have any weird fantasies or ideas, please do not hesitate to share them with me. The only limit I have is nothing against animals, please? Also, I would not be willing to Roleplay with someone who is against homosexual relationships and smut because I love them both. (*^◯^*)
❤
Reply Time
❤
Everyone has lives and I understand that it gets in the way of our Roleplay addiction. But if you ever plan on blanking out for a few days, please do let me know and I would do the same :3. My usual reply time has to be 1 day or when I'm really busy, then 2 days. But it really depends on the size of our replies because if they're small, then I usually send multiple replies every day!
❤
Abandoning a Role-play
❤
If you plan on leaving a Roleplay, please do have the courtesy to let me know? I don't bite and would be very understanding if you feel as though the Roleplay is not what you had hoped it would be. (^ー^)ノ
❤
SO that is all for today, folks! If you have any queries then feel free to contact me and when you do send me an email or note, make sure to add the words ‘Sweet Niblets’ in the subject so that I am aware that you have read through everything. My email address would be:
❤
Have a wonderful Day!

" I did." He noticed the moment he received a kiss from someone who was suppose to despise him. He used him against the other for blood, mostly. However, he got use to the affections after awhile. Didn't mind them.
Throat tighten that he only let one hiccup escaped from him. He felt a burning sensation on his eyes and chest as he replays everything that happened, or didn’t happened. Then he remembers that Shuu said he ‘IS’ food.
“I-I’m...” Lambo let more tears fall as he looks at Shuu. “Y-Your just using me, as food...” Tears and broken expression didn’t expressed enough of how much he’s hurting.

Seiyuu: Toriumi Kousuke & Katsuyuki Konishi
Translator’s note: That cliffhanger left me with so many questions??? The boys are definitely acting a bit ‘out of it’ because of the lunar ecilpse, although that does make it interesting as well. The sword fight gave me a lot of war flashbackse to Shuu’s Brute Ending in HDB but thankfully, this one did not have such a tragic outcome. I liked the roasting between the two of them though. You can really feel the tension just from their voices. xD Reiji is so skilled at taunting others as well geez. I like to believe that I don’t lose my cool too quickly but that guy could probably make me rage like there’s no tomorrow if he pushes the right buttons lol.

Track 2: Showdown Under the Lunar Eclipse
Shuu: Pwaah...Nn...
*Crack crack*
Reiji: You...Shuu. When did you get here?
Shuu: Haah...? I’ve been here the whole time though? I’m surprised you - out of all people - hadn’t picked up on my presence. Well, guess I’ll just blame it on the lunar eclipse.
Reiji: I am beyond appalled. You were napping here?
Shuu: The scenery’s nice here. It’s a perfect resting spot. ...Then, I dozed off at some point. I only just now realized the two of you had come here. Therefore...I haven’t heard or seen anything really.
Haah...Guess I’ll go somewhere else and sleep some more. Maybe someplace where I don’t have to see that eerie moon.
Shuu tries to leave.
Reiji: Hold it! Where are you going!
Shuu: ...Is that any of your business?
Reiji: It is not. Usually I would simply ignore you, however...This may be the moon’s fault as well, but I brought you to a halt.
Shuu: The moon’s fault, huh? Well, in that case...I guess the same could be said about me. I’m actually reacting to your command after all.
Reiji: ...! ...Exactly. You’ve always been like that.
Shuu: ...Hm?
Reiji: I...always found myself frustrated at that exact habit of yours, puzzled by how the two of us could be so vastly different despite sharing the same blood.
Reiji turns towards you.
Reiji: Say...You wonder the same thing, don’t you? Whether me and Shuu are actually brothers?
Shuu: Haah...Buzz off. Who gives a damn? I’m not interested. ...I’m going. If you want to do some of your petty ‘investigation’ that badly, why not go and press the Old Man for an answer or something?
Reiji: You truly are hopeless. Always running away like that. From everything. ...Even though there might be something you hold precious, but rather than taking notice of it, you pretend it was never there in the first place. ...Do you truly believe that you can get away thinking that you had nothing to begin with? Like that violin gifted to you by our Father.
Shuu comes to a halt.
Shuu: ...
Reiji: However, right here is one thing which you will never be able to retrieve once lost.
Reiji pulls you close.
*Rustle*
Shuu: What are you getting at?
Reiji: Fufu...
Shuu: I’m asking what you mean.
Reiji: Do you not understand? You pretend to be oh-so knowledgeable, when in reality, you keep on either losing or being robbed of everything dear to you. I simply wish to state that I loathe how you keep that composed expression, pretending to ‘know-it-all’ despite everything.
Shuu: You’re the one...who is responsible for that, no?
Reiji: So you’ll blame someone else? Hmph. You do have a point. I might have taken away something precious to you. However, I seem to recall that you acted as if you did not care afterwards. Even though deep inside, you should have despised me so strongly, to the point of wanting to kill me.
*Rustle*
Reiji: ...Have you not realized that you are about to repeat the exact same mistake right now?
Shuu: What do you mean?
Reiji: I am trying to take what is precious to you right here, right now. ...Yet, you are still putting up your facede and trying to overlook that.
You try and get in between their conflict.
Reiji: What is the matter? You stay silent. ...No complaints!
You frown.
Reiji: ...If you get on my nerves too much, I shall punish you. ...Hmph.
*Rustle*
Shuu: So she’s supposed to be this ‘precious someone’ you’re talking about...?
Reiji: Please do not try and deny it by this point. It is clear as day. Well...Personally, I do not have the slightest intention of handing her over to you without a fight.
Shuu: ...Hah. Good grief...Honestly, you should just understand that I’m trying to numb my own emotions on purpose...Also, that woman over there as well. You won’t succeed at taking her away from me at this point. I’ve made sure she can no longer live without me after all.
Reiji: ...!
Shuu: Even if I were to leave her in your care right now, she would eventually come back to me. ...Well, whatever. If you insist on settling the score and deciding who she belongs to tonight, I shall take you up on your offer.
Shuu draws a sword.
*Cling*
Reiji: You are challenging me to a sword fight?
Shuu: There just so happens to be a collection of Father’s favorite swords over here after all. If I lose, I’ll back off. I won’t get involved with anything beyond that point, sounds good. That’s the best way to settle the score, don’t you think?
Reiji: Very well. ...As you wish.
Reiji steps closer.
Shuu: ...And if you were to lose, don’t you dare meddle with my affairs from here on out. ...Oi. That goes for you too. Don’t you dare approach the Four-Eyes again.
You protest.
Shuu: Annoying. Nothing will change no matter how much you cry about. Understand that already.
You try and change their minds.
Shuu: I don’t care if I’m being stirred up by the lunar eclipse. Honestly, if it wasn’t for that, this situation would keep dragging on forever.
Reiji: ...Exactly. We would simply keep this back-and-forth going while bearing ill feelings towards the other. ...I dare argue that it is in both out best interests if we fight to the death already and settle the score.
*Rustle*
Reiji: ...And as if on cue, the moon just so happens to be eaten away at right now.
Reiji draws a sword as well.
*Cling*
Shuu: Haah...What a drag. Let’s get started already.
*Cling*
Reiji: Fufu...Well, well...I have to be thankful to the lunar eclipse...
Shuu and Reiji get into position to start their sword fight.
Shuu: I wonder how long it has been since we both engaged in a sword fight like this?
Reiji: Hmph. Long, long ago. I am surprised you are such a sentimental Vampire to bring up tales from the past right now.
Shuu: You were always frustrated because you couldn’t win against me, weren’t you?
Reiji: I wonder how things will go right now? The circumstances are different now that there’s no longer a physical gap between us.
Shuu: ...
*Cling cling*
*CLASH*
Reiji: Hah...!
Shuu: ...! Not bad...
Reiji: It be highly troubling if you believed I am still my old self...Hah!
*Cling*
Shuu: I guess quite some time has passed, huh?
*Cling cling*
*Clash*
Shuu: ...Haah...
*Cling cling*
*CLASH*
Reiji: Answer me without trying to evade the question.
Shuu: ...On what?
Reiji: Do you have any intention of handing her over to me? Am I right to assume that you only care about her that much?
Shuu: ...
Reiji: No response. In short...
Shuu: ...I told you earlier as well, right? I don’t have to, nor do I intend to give her to you. I’m sure she knows better than anyone who she belongs to?
Reiji: Very well...In short, you are alluding to that, right? I am satisfied to have finally heard your true feelings. (1) That is exactly what I have been waiting for this whole time after all.
Reiji throws his sword onto the floor.
*Cling*
Shuu: What’s wrong? There hasn’t been a winner declared yet.
Reiji: I admit defeat.
Shuu: Haah...? Are you joking with me?
Reiji: Hah. I thought you knew better than anyone that I am not that kind of person?
Shuu also drops his sword.
*Cling*
Shuu: Heavy...
Reiji: Hmph. ...I shall take my leave now.
Reiji leaves.

Translation notes
(1) 本音 or ‘honne’ (literally: true sound) is a very important concept within Japanese society which refers to how someone actually feels about the situation. It is tradtionally meant to be kept to oneself, unless one’s ‘honne’ is actually socially acceptable. If not, one must put up a facade and instead do the things or speak the words which are expected of them, which is referred to as ‘tatemae’ instead.
