"Looking good, Lamb!" Anthony whistled obnoxiously at Kate, who was leaving the hair and makeup area of the small studio.

"Come off it. They barely did anything."

"Well, doesn't that make it even more of a compliment?"

"If you were being serious, I suppose it might."

"Oh, but I am."

Kate sighed, exasperated. "Fine. Thank you. So kind of you to say." She curtsied, making Anthony laugh.

A producer walked up to them and pointed toward the camera and chairs setup. "Alright, we're ready for you. If you'll just head over there, we can get started."

Kate nudged Anthony with her shoulder as they walked over. "Nervous?"

"Nah. We've done interviews before."

"First time on camera, though." Kate fiddled with her necklace. Anthony put his hand over hers to still her fingers.

"Then just don't mind the camera, Lamb. It'll be fine."

Kate smiled up at him as a journalist approached them with an outstretched hand.

"Hi! I'm Etta, with MOJO Magazine. So nice to meet you, Anthony, Kate."

After everyone exchanged handshakes, Anthony and Kate were directed to the elevated chairs situated opposite Etta. Anthony helped Kate up into hers.

“Thank you, Tony.”

“Oh,” Etta looked down at her notes as she settled into her chair. “Do you go by ‘Tony’?”

Anthony smirked. “Not generally, no.”

“So, is Tony, like, a family nickname?”

“No, it's, uh… Well," Anthony looked over to his bandmate. "It’s a Kate nickname.”

“Aw, that’s adorable.”

Anthony shrugged. “She's adorable, aren't you, Lamb?” he teased as he tugged on Kate’s hair.

Kate batted his hand away. “Arsehole,” she muttered.

Hermione Granger es elegida como Ministra de Magia por primera vez en su carrera política. 

El Wizengamot discute por primera vez el “Acuerdo para la Protección de Squibs, Mestizos y Criaturas Mágicas”. No es aprobada. 

Una crisis social y económica, obliga a la Ministra de Magia a pedir ayuda al MACUSA. 

Termina la reconstrucción del castillo Hogwarts de magia y hechicería. 

2005

Inicio de clases en Hogwarts, el primero de septiembre. 

La primera generación de criaturas y semi-criaturas mágicas, inicia sus clases en el colegio Hogwarts de Magia y Hechicería. 

El “Acuerdo para la Protección de Squibs, Mestizos y Criaturas Mágicas” es discutido por segunda vez. Es aceptado por el tribunal de Wizengamot, pero con algunas reformas. 

La Ministra de Magia da un incentivo económico para los locales del Callejón Diagon. 

2006

El Departamento de Educación Mágica amplía la currícula de Hogwarts e incluye asignaturas que corresponden a derechos de las criaturas mágicas, cultura y tecnología muggles e historia de la magia y del mundo muggle. 

Inicio de los juicios contra los aliados de Lord Voldemort. 

2010

Creación del Departamento para la Protección de los Derechos de las Criaturas Mágicas bajo el mandato de Rolf Scamander. 

Las celdas de Azkaban son reforzadas y se retiran los Dementores de las cárceles. 

Se reabre la Oficina de Aurores. 

2013

Graduación de la primera generación de criaturas mágicas de Hogwarts. 

Apertura de una Universidad Mágica que acopla varias carreras de mayor demanda para la reconstrucción de la sociedad inglesa. Entre ellas, están Sanadores / Medibrujos, Leyes Mágicas, Arquitectura y Diseño Mágicos, Relaciones Muggles, Relaciones Internacionales, Profesores, entre otras. 

2020

Charles Aldridge, es el primer licántropo que alcanza un rango de poder en el Ministerio: Jefe del Departamento de Cooperación Mágica Internacional. Esto es bien visto por los países europeos quiénes apoyan, explícitamente, esta decisión por parte de la Ministra. 

2025

Hermione Granger ahora es miembro de la Confederación Internacional de Magos junto a su esposo, Ronald Weasley, y a Harry Potter. También participan Neville Longbottom y Rolf Scamander. 

Hugo Weasley-Granger, es anunciado como Ministro de Magia. Su cuerpo gubernamental se compone de varios graduados de Leyes Mágicas pero también, de especialistas de la salud, de política mágica internacional y de profesores. Su mano derecha, será Octavio Burke. 

2024

Firma de un acuerdo que permite la creación de escuelas de magia teórica para squibs. 

Creación de una escuela primaria para jóvenes magos de Inglaterra. Allí, se imparten asignaturas tales como Teoría de Encantamientos, Teoría de Herbología y Pociones, Teoría de Transformaciones, Leyes Mágicas y Derechos, Cuidado de Criaturas Mágicas, Cultura y Tecnología Muggle. 

2027

Thomas Fawley es ascendido como Jefe del Escuadrón 77 de Aurores, a cargo de la seguridad del Ministro de Magia consecuente a la resolución favorable de un expediente mágico: el de Ares Selwyn. 

Ares Selwyn es enviado a prisión perpetua en Azkaban, sin posibilidad de salida. Sus negocios, son heredados a Cepheus Yaxley: mano derecha de Selwyn. 

2033

La magia accidental de un Obscurial, se sale de control de los Sanadores y quince personas pierden sus vidas en el Hospital San Mungo de heridas mágicas, incluyendo a Alice II Longbottom. El Ministro de Magia, Hugo Weasley, decreta una semana de duelo. 

Inicio de construcción de un ala del hospital para el estudio de la magia de los Obscurials y los Malecditus. 

Firma de un acuerdo entre Estados Unidos, Alemania e Inglaterra para el estudio de los Obcurials. 

2035

Segundo mandato de Hugo Weasley como Ministro de Magia. 

Evangeline Burke toma el control del comercio de hierbas mágicas y pociones e inicia un bloqueo a Inglaterra. En pocas semanas, el faltante de los elementos básicos es notorio. Esto obliga al Ministro de Magia a negociar con Alemania, Italia y España la incorporación de materia prima. 

2037

Nacimiento de los gemelos Eirene y Rigel Weasley-Selwyn; ambos niños, nacen con la condición de magos elementales. Sus padres, ocultan aquella información a la prensa. No obstante, la infiltración se produce en el Hospital San Mungo de heridas mágicas donde los bebés han nacido. 

El Ministro de Magia, Hugo Weasley, descubre que varios magos elementales están infiltrados en rangos de poder dentro del Ministerio lo cual da inicio a una serie de reformas impulsadas por él mediante el Wizengamot. 

2038

La noticia de la magia elemental presente en los bebés, enciende una alarma en la sociedad mágica inglesa quienes exigen a las autoridades una explicación. 

Principio de acuerdo entre la comunidad de magos elementales y el Ministerio de Magia británico. No obstante, un accidente ocurrido frente a uno de los edificios que esta comunidad utilizaba retrocede varios peldaños la relación entre ambas partes. 

A finales de año, se da un acuerdo entre ambas partes. Como consecuencia, el Ministro de Magia envía al Wizengamot un paquete de leyes que otorga ciertas libertades a la comunidad de magos elementales. Fue aprobada por la diferencia de dos votos a favor.

Olivia Fawley, es ascendida a Directora del Colegio Hogwarts de magia y hechicería por decisión dividida del Departamento de Educación Mágica.

God uses simple people

"for you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called." 1 cor 1:26

i don't know about you, but that makes me feel qualified. there's certainly nothing spectacular about me or my life.

i have often heard it said that the office makes the man - as in the presidency. (personally i don't think that's necessarily true in this case.) but i do know this: the anointing makes the person. scripture tells us that the yoke is broke because of the anointing.

i have seen some of the most gifted people, when under the anointing, make some of the stupidest mistakes when they stepped out of the it. some may call it simply sin as we still all have a sin nature. the truth is, "'not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts.

along that same vein He says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." john 15:5 so the question remains, what in the world do we have to glory in? one might quickly say, "obedience, at least." but looking back over my life at that response, i have noticed some of the most fruitful acts were done as if by accident, with not much thought given to word or deed.

God uses us because we love Him and let Him; sometimes even in spite of us. we place our meager life into His hands for His purpose. the apostle paul was certainly a brilliant and learned man, but what did he say? "if i must boast, i will boast of the things that [show] my infirmity [of the things by which i am made weak and contemptible in the eyes of my opponents]." 2 cor 11:30 ampc why? that the excellency of the power may be of God. self has nothing to boast of. God is all and all is God.

so yes, it's the simply that are qualified the most. that makes us all qualified. "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." james 4:6 grace is all we need to fulfill God's purpose in us.

i know many of us spend way too much time trying to figure out our purpose and end up doing nothing at all. we surmise it might be lofty or note worthy when it might be closer than you think. i hear that great writers write about what they know. your purpose may well be found in those closest to you.

i know family and friends may often be the hardest ones to witness to, but that is often our primer for something else. the thing to remember though, conviction is the job of the Holy Spirit. condemnation is the job of the devil. grace is the job of God. ours is the job of hope; a hope that maketh not ashamed.

we live in an everlasting state of hope. "this hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil." heb 6:19 it enters that place we all long to be.

so call me silly, call me stubborn, call me simple. but also call me used. a frequent prayer of mine is, "use me God. use me up." i have a hope that surpasses the reality of this world; a hope that emerged as a spring but has become an ocean i am occasionally graced to swim in. let God use you today for His purpose.

The Neverending Story, Chapter 18 - The Acharis

In which Bastian starts to really wonder if he's doing the right thing.

Rain(1) was coming down in buckets.(2)

The weather got worse and worse over the last three days, but the H-friends are in good spirits. Sometimes they sing, and their favourite is a tune that they attribute to a human who used to wander Fantastica, who went by the name of Shexper, or something like that.(3)

Everyone, even Bastian, believes that they're seeking a road back to Bastian's world. Only, Bastian hasn't the maturity or self-awareness to realize that he only agreed with Atreyu to oblige a friend, and it's not what his heart wants, and Fantastica knows it.

Along the way they crossed some markings of Smerg's progress, and Hynreck's behind him. Bastian wonders if it was smart to create a monster like that, to terrorize Fantastica. He resolves to make no more, so that he can go down in history as famous for his unselfishness.(4)

When they make camp the third night, Atreyu asks Bastian to tell them more of the girl he once told stories to. Bastian can't remember her. Atreyu prompts that Bastian said in Amarganth that he used to tell some of his stories to a girl, Kris Ta, and Bastian can remember saying it, but not why.(5) He also can't remember anyone making fun of him for his stories. Atreyu and Falkor nod to each other, as if something one or the other said previously was confirmed, but neither says anything aloud.(6)

Atreyu asks how Bastian's journey came about, and then how Bastian came to Mr Coreander's shop. Alas, this has also been lost to Bastian's memory. Atreyu asks for all the memories Bastian can remember, and after Bastian has told him, says that Auryn must be stealing Bastian's memories slowly, as payment for the wishes. Bastian isn't uncomfortable with this, as he's sure Moon Child knew what she was doing, and that Auryn isn't a trap. Atreyu agrees that it's not likely to be a trap,(7) but it's a good thing they're looking for Bastian's way back regardless.

They fall asleep, but are awakened by some sort of noise. Something is outside the cave, in the dark. Bastian activates his light rock, revealing the Acharis, the miserable silversmiths of his story in Amarganth. They have built a beautiful silver tower, but beg Bastian to remove the light, as it hurts them to be perceived in their ugliness.(8)

Bastian puts away the light, and offers to help them, despite his disgust at their forms. The Acharis explain that they do such beautiful silver work to make amends for existing in the world.(9) Bastian says it's not their fault they're ugly, but they insist that they must do this thing as long as they are ugly, and beg Bastian for new bodies. So, Bastian weaves a story that the Acharis will turn into Shlamoofs the next day, no longer the Everlasting Weepers, but the Everlasting Laughers. Before he finishes telling it, the Acharis have fallen asleep.

Bastian is very proud of his actions, because nobody can say he gave himself anything out of it.(10) Atreyu only wonders what it cost Bastian. Bastian isn't worried.

The next morning, the H-friends wake Bastian with awe at the Shlamoofs. However, Bastian notices that they're damaging the beautiful and delicate silver tower the Acharis built. Bastian tells them to stop, but they don't, or won't, understand why they shouldn't. They are butterfly-clowns, and they cannot take anything seriously, and they can't even get Bastian's name right. They fly away, and Bastian starts to doubt the good of his deed.

(1) The Shlamoofs fly above and around the great tower, while the Acharis crawl below. (2) It's funny to use such an evocatively descriptive phrase in a book about stories being true. (3) Ah yes, the famous Billyem Shexper, I'm sure. (4) Besides the inherent selfishness of everything he's done since he laid eyes on the Neverending Story, and the selfishness of wanting to appear unselfish. (5) Because it was true, as we learned back in Spook City, Christa was Anna's child, Anna the secretary-housekeeper who came after Bastian's mum died. (6) It's so interesting that Atreyu and Falkor seem to know what's going on, isn't it? (7) Do you think it's a trap? If you know the answer, I think it's still worth thinking about in the context of this conversation. If you don't, I'm genuinely curious. Myself, without spoilers, I think "trap" implies a sense of malice on the part of the person setting it, and I think there's a lesson here for Bastian, in the way of stories, but not precisely a trap. (8) MOOD. (9) I can't just say "mood" again but like, how many of us are made to believe that this is our obligation? (10) And again, I say, selfishness has more than one meaning. It's why so many stories tell us that someone who does good with the sole goal of achieving heaven/nirvana/what have you, will never achieve this, because their goals were always selfish, for their own gain, even as they seemed to live unselfishly. It's not the most common thing to find explored in children's fiction, and I wonder if it will be addressed outright or not, as I don't remember if it is.

A Prayer for Good Friday: It Is Finished Dear God, We remember today, the pain and suffering of the cross, and all that Jesus was willing to endure, so we could be set free. He paid the price, such a great sacrifice, to offer us the gift of eternal life.

Help us never to take for granted this huge gift of love on our behalf. Help us to be reminded of the cost of it all. Forgive us for being too busy, or distracted by other things, for not fully recognizing what you freely given, what you have done for us.

Thank you, Lord, that by your wounds we are healed. Thank you that because of your huge sacrifice we can live free. Thank you that sin and death have been conquered and that your Power is everlasting.
