Tumblr media
- awful with emotions but always finds a way to make up for things whether through humor or sex.
- speaking of humor you’re never not laughing with him, or bickering, or fucking
- you’re the only person he can actually feel vulnerable and comfortable with, he cherishes that and he loves you so much for that.
- you’re his person, he would genuinely kill for you if it meant he would lose someone so important in his life.
- if someone makes you sad, mad or uncomfortable ooo…not his babygirl.
- he usually doesn’t keep people or friends in his loop often, they could find him annoying or over the top but not you.
- you love absolutely everything about him, his outlandish humor, his extroverted personality, his big ol’ mouth. you think it’s so hot.
- so hot when he’s mean to you so hot when he’s soft with you
- you literally bicker like two teenage girls all the time and he always somehow clocks your tea it’s ridiculous but you also find it impressive that he always has something to say that you cannot come back from😭
- god you need to pray that no man ever even has the thought of coming on to you… he’ll experience some banter with your boyfriend before it’s lights out.
- not only are you his but he’s yours! he’s super loyal and if he can’t get someone to back off , you sure will!
- you’re always having fun with him date nights are some of the best times of your life, he always finds a way to entertain you no matter what you’re doing.
- always gotta hand somewhere, your ass, a singular cheek, a titty, somewhere. how could you expect him not to! you’re all his.
- you literally have him wrapped around your finger, he’d do absolutely anything for you.
- also always bullying you he is so straightforward😭
“hon that has got to be the ugliest shirt i’ve ever seen on you”
“wade-“
“i know you got better in that closet that i snoop through and try on all your clothes when you aren’t home now go!”
- he’s so tall so if you’re short oh wow…you’re never catching a break
“soooo how’s the weather down there.” wade said, placing his elbow on the crown of your head.
“prick…”
“yeah that’s enough of that dirty mouth!” your boyfriend had announced before bending down and wrapping an arm around your behind, throwing you over his shoulder and positioning his palm on your ass.
“god, wade put me down!” you’d laughed playfully hitting his back.
“don’t make me have to spank you!” he said, lighting pinching your ass.
- do not get an animal bc it will quickly become his center of attention and he will defend it over you.
“wade, we’re having my mom over please put it in the room”
“ugh…she’s so mean isn’t she sugar?” he’d said stroking your pet, followed by a “yes she is yes she is!” as the animal licked his face.
sigh.
- good lord we got a cuddle monster on our hands!
- absolutely adores any type of affection and practically begs you for it 24/7. he loves being little spoon specifically. also loves it when u scratch or message his back, bc that also gets him going..
- speaking of, you got this guy rock solid 24/7
“hungry for seconds?” he joked, hugging you from behind and pressing his hardened cock against your ass.
“we literally jus-“ you’d started just to be interrupted mid sentence.
“so! cmon baby throw a dog a bone.” he muttered, hand already gripping your inner thigh.
you’d sighed, god you can’t resist him.
- it doesn’t matter what you’re doing he finds anything you do hot i stg
- a M-U-N-C-H! for life, literally came in his pants from eating you out once! he loves making you feel good.

‪‪❤︎‬ TEEN ROMANCE !
(n) — bllk boys & their kind of love. includes : isagi yoichi, reo mikage , nagi seishiro , oliver aiku
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
ISAGI YOICHI ! — romeo & juliette.
dating yoichi is sweat-soaked skin pressed against sweat-soaked skin on the mink fur rug of your bedroom floor carpet. isagi is yawn slash yearning—he kisses you silly with honey on his tongue & your back pressed against your bedroom floor with thighs wrapped around like ivy on his waist. there are bruises on your neck & cherry lipstick stains his cheeks & every minute or two you have to pull away because ‘i swear i hear my mom coming up the stairs.’ even so he nibbles at your neck & traces comets on your skin because ‘don’t worry pretty, she’ll never find us out.’ your heart’s in your throat & you swear the footsteps are getting louder but all you can do is swallow your chest & pray. you hug yoichi a little tighter because unlike romeo & juliet, your story will not end in split hearts & summertime sadness.
Tumblr media
REO MIKAGE ! — skin & a country club
super rich kids make nothing but fake friends but the ghost of reo’s lips on yours is oh-so-sloppy yet oh-so-real. his mouth tastes like raspberry syrup & strawberry chambourd & when his palms slip below the seam of your skirt you think he is grace. you know that once the party’s over & it’s time to leave the yacht you’ll go back from star crossed lovers to trust fund babies who long for something more than riches & bloodline; so you tug at his hair & guide his hold to your hips in hopes he’ll hold you tighter & never let you go.
Tumblr media
NAGI SEISHIRO ! — lovelorn lethargy
nagi seishiro is lazy lover & lazy kisses & lazy touch on your waist, neck, everywhere. he smells like sea foam deluxe & cotton elixir but you want to crush his bloody throat between your palms because ’one more round angel, i swear it.’ it was one more round thirty minutes ago / an hour ago / an hour and a half ago & you’re only a girl so you’ve decided you’ve suffered enough. you have your coat on your shoulders & mary janes grace your feet & you’re about to leave but your waist feels warm & there’s a weight on your neck—‘m’sorry bunny, i’m all done now, yeah ?’
Tumblr media
OLIVER AIKU ! — sex & a daydream
last week he left scars on your back / this week he left scars on your neck / next week he’ll leave scars on your heart. you hate aiku & his smart mouth but you love the way it swells & blossoms with peach smeared lip stick when you bite his lip & kiss him silly. aiku is fox teeth ripping through peach flesh—he tastes like brown sugar & warm honey in a wheat field but you can smell carolina herrera & you know it’s not yours. your heart bleeds up your throat & you should push him away but his hand’s in your hair & his palms grip your knees. you’ve got all the time in the world—you might as well kiss him now & curse him later.

chapter fourteen: burned
Babe.
She called him ‘babe,’ that one word laced with more than friendliness. There was a history behind it, a sultriness, all of it seeming so natural.
There was no air left to breathe; of this, you were almost certain. Your lungs constricted around nothing, shoved tight behind your ribs with nowhere to expand.
She called him babe. And she kissed him.
On the cheek, on the lips—it didn’t matter. She had kissed him and it didn’t sound like he’d attempted to stop her. Nor had he corrected her when she’d called the motel a shithole. His ex-girlfriend showed up and called your home–and his–a shithole, and he’d all but agreed with her.
And she called him babe.
You were going to be sick, your head spinning from the myriad emotions coursing through it. Anger, frustration, confusion, sadness, and envy stirred up a fatal cocktail that had you retching into the wastebasket next to the desk.
A door swung open, and you prayed that it was Mom or Dad, already formulating a believable reason as to why you were suddenly throwing up. Must’ve eaten something that disagreed with me; I’ll be fine–
“Heiress?”
Of course it was Eddie. Of course. His footsteps got faster as he heard you throwing up, barely audible through the blood pulsing in your ears. Before you knew it, he was crouching down beside you, one hand gently stroking your back, your shirt now soaked through with sweat.
You wrenched away, shrugging off his touch and wiping your lips. “Don’t touch me.” Your voice was hoarse from sickness and hurt.
Eddie flinched at your gruff demeanor, toppling backwards onto his jean-clad bottom with a soft oof. “Heiress, it’s fine. I’m not afraid of a little–”
“No!” You found your emotional footing, grounding yourself in anger rather than shaking it off. The last thing you needed was for him to see you as vulnerable. Even worse, pitiful. “Leave me alone.”
You couldn’t look at him without seeing her, so beautiful and badass. Everything he wanted and more. Had he blushed when she kissed him? Had his hand slid around her waist to pull her closer, to breathe in her perfection? The thought sent your stomach roiling, and it took a mountain of force to keep from getting sick again.
His brows furrowed in confusion. “I can get you some ginger ale, o-or some water–”
You shook your head subtly lest you rouse another round of nausea. “I said leave me alone,” you said through gritted teeth. Tears rolled down your cheeks, and you were disgusted with yourself for wishing he would kiss them away. “I’m fine.”
Babe. With a kiss.
“At least let me take out the trash.”
“Can you just fucking go?” You whirled around to finally face him, your heart momentarily lurching at his recoil. “You can probably still catch up with your girlfriend. She just left.”
“My…” Eddie cocked his head with a naivety that had you simultaneously wanting to comfort and smack him. “Who, Fiona?”
Logically, you knew she had a name, but hearing him say it still made everything worse. Fiona.
“Yeah, her,” you spat. Just because you knew her name didn’t mean you had to say it.
A disbelieving chuckle escaped Eddie’s lips, half-hearted in its landing. “She’s not my girlfriend, Heiress.” His voice had a prickly edge to it, and it made you feel slightly less guilty about your own snappiness.
“Did you tell her that?” Frustration flamed behind your eyes. “Because I heard her call you ‘babe’ and give you a kiss.”
You summoned all of your strength and pushed yourself up to standing. Eddie followed suit, though he didn’t need to lean on the desk to keep himself upright like you did.
“Christ.” He raked his fingers through his curls. “It was a kiss on the cheek. It’s not like we were frenching in the hallway.”
The visual alone might have sent you back to the trash can, but you held your composure. What was left of it, anyway.
“And what about her calling you ‘babe’?”
He shoved his hands in his pants pockets, an act of innocence. “Probably just out of habit from when she was…y’know…”
My girlfriend. He didn’t need to say the words aloud; you filled in the blanks without any assistance.
“But you didn’t correct her.” You were being petty, and while you hated yourself for it, you also couldn’t stop it. A dam had been broken, and the rupture unleashed all of the frustration and confusion that you’d kept bottled up.
From outside, a car blared its horn loud enough to startle you. Eddie brought his hand out to comfort you, almost instinctively, before he remembered you were mid-argument and let it drop to his side.
“Honestly,” he exhaled, “I wasn’t really paying attention when she said that.”
Your stomach soured. If he wasn’t listening to the words she was saying, then what was his mind occupied with? Images of him stampeded through your head: Eddie lusting over bow-shaped lips, the subtle swell of her breasts beneath her tank top, the way her denim miniskirt emphasized the curve of her ass…all while you stood behind the desk none the wiser.
You shoved the implication aside. “Why was she here? How did she even know you were here?”
Eddie’s nails scratched along the desk, the only sound for a few seconds until he spoke again. “I talked to her after they did their show at Webster Hall.”
How could you have forgotten that show—the one he was at the night someone vandalized Eisen’s.
“I told her where I was staying, gave her the room number. She took a chance and stopped by tonight.”
“For what?” You quickly assessed his clothes; nothing seemed to be rumpled or unbuttoned that would indicate any below-the-belt activities.
Eddie caught your eyes roving his body, and not in the hungry, desire-filled way you had looked at him earlier today.
“She asked me to rejoin the band,” he said quietly. “They want me back for their tour.”
Rejoin the band for their tour. If the tabloid article was accurate, that meant he’d be leaving within the next few weeks.
Your silence spoke volumes. Eddie huffed out a laugh thick with venom. “Wow, thanks for your enthusiasm. Really amps up my excitement.”
“It’s just…a lot to process.” You picked at your lower lip, the bit of dry skin suddenly the most interesting thing in the room. “Do they want you back permanently? Or just until Caleb Dalton gets out of rehab?”
Eddie’s brows furrowed. He crossed his arms over his chest and stepped back, protecting an open wound. “What are you talking about? Who’s going to rehab?”
Shit. You screwed your eyes shut, but there was no more feigning ignorance. He had to know the truth, and you had to be the one to break it to him.
And so you told him everything: the public intoxication arrest, the rehab stay, the threat it posed to the band’s future. When he asked how you knew all of this, you were honest about that, too.
“So, wait.” Eddie held up his forefinger to stop you, though you’d already run out of words to say. “You knew about this stuff since our first date? And then you read the article today? And you never thought to tell me about any of it?”
Shame snaked its way through your veins, heating you from the inside. Fresh tears pricked at your eyes, and you forced yourself to blink them back. You knew you should have told him; maybe not during that first date, but certainly in the days following. It wasn’t as though you hadn’t had the opportunity. Even spotting that article this afternoon brought up the perfect moment.
But you’d let your cowardice take over, and now you were paying the price.
“I wasn’t sure what to say.” It was a pathetic excuse, and you both knew it.
Eddie raked his fingers through his hair, snagging them on a knotted curl. “How about, ‘hey, Eddie, did you hear about what’s going on with your old band?’ Or you could’ve come right out with it, something like, ‘your replacement is in rehab, just so you know.’” He shook his head in stunned disbelief, his nostrils flaring with each word. “Anything, Heiress. Anything!”
You winced at his increasing volume. “Eddie, maybe we should talk about this another–”
“No!” He hissed through gritted teeth. “No, I’m so fucking sick and tired of waiting. Waiting for you to tell your parents about us, waiting for another big break, waiting for something to finally go right for once in my stupid life!” He slammed his fist on the desk, rattling the old wood and your nerves, veins pulsing in his forearm. “I’m such a goddamn idiot. I should’ve been saving up every penny to get back home, but I stuck around here for…for someone who doesn’t give a shit about me.”
Every part of you ached to refute that statement, to insist that you did care about him. But it wouldn’t be of any use; he’d already made up his mind that he meant nothing to you. And what did you have to disprove him? The way fear kept you from telling your parents the truth? The constant sneaking around to avoid the inevitable confrontation that came with them discovering the real relationship between you and Eddie?
“And every time I ask you about it, it’s always ‘soon,’ or ‘I’m going to.’” Eddie continued, his jaw twitching as he inhaled. “I might as well be back in high school, hooking up with cheerleaders behind their boyfriends’ backs, acting like nothing happened between us.” He looked at you with utter disgust. “At least they had a decent excuse. You’re just selfish.”
“Selfish?” Of all of the words used to describe you, good or bad, selfish hadn’t ever been one of them. “I’m…no, I’m not–”
The scent of stale cigarette smoke choked you. “Well, what would you call it, then? What would you call stringing me along while you weave your little web of lies?” He leaned in, though there was no need with how loud he was speaking. “I thought we were a team, Heiress. And a damn good one at that. But you were playing by yourself this whole fucking time.”
Your throat went dry, your body hollow. You were selfish. You spent so much time worried about the potential backlash that you never considered how he felt.
Eddie didn’t stop, not even when the tears rolled down your cheeks. “You know what I think?” He pressed his lips into a thin line, like he knew he should suppress what he was about to say but no longer could hold back. “I think you can’t handle people following their dreams when you’re too scared to follow yours. I think you liked having me here because that meant I wasn’t out there trying to be a ‘superstar.’” He hooked his fingers to make air-quotes.
“But I’m done with your games, Heiress. I’m done pretending to just be the handyman you happen to get along with. I’m done with you.”
A response, a retort, a poignant Fuck off all stayed lodged in your throat. Only the sound of a door swinging open echoed through the motel.
Shit. Your parents. They must’ve woken up from the arguing and—
“What the hell is going on out here?” Phyllis’s rough, irritated voice called out. Her robe was half-open, the top of one freckled breast visible. She had her trusty bat raised, ready to fight, but when she saw the commotion was only you and Eddie, her posture loosened. “Jesus Christ, I thought someone was trying to…never mind.” She shook her head and scowled. “If you two don’t learn to keep it down, then I’ll just have to be louder.”
You and Eddie normally would have laughed and shot back a cheeky comment, but neither of you mustered up a joke. Phyllis had already turned back around to her room, figuring out how to salvage her client’s evening after the interruption.
“I’m leaving anyway,” Eddie grumbled. The tips of his ears were pink from the sheer heat of his anger.
“Leaving? Like, for good?” Your voice was so tiny that you barely heard it, and you were surprised that he did. Even more surprised that he didn’t pretend not to hear it and keep walking away.
He sighed with the weight of the world. “Yeah, Heiress. For good.” He turned back to face you one last time, a serpentine bite in his tone. “And for what it’s worth, I liked when Fiona called me ‘babe.’ It was nice hearing someone say it without checking their surroundings first.”
So he had noticed it—the way you made sure your parents weren’t around before calling him a pet name or pressing a kiss to his waiting lips. You weren’t as subtle as you’d hoped, and he’d picked up on it.
Eddie held his same stoic expression as he watched your face fall, your posture slumping in total defeat. His words were cruel, but they didn’t lack truth. And it didn’t mean you were ready to hear them.
“Fuck you,” you said weakly. You no longer cared if he saw you cry. Shame over vulnerability couldn’t hold a candle to the loss you already felt, though he was still standing in front of you. “Just…fuck you. I should’ve left you on that bench.”
“Then who would be your charity case?” His brown eyes, usually soft and comforting, teasing, or filled with lust, held only rage now. “Who would you pretend to give a shit about?”
Insecurity chipped away at your minimal resolve to stay upright as you wondered what kind of eyes Fiona saw tonight.
“Do you” you sniffled, wishing you would just wake up and realize the whole argument was a dream. “Do you really think this was all pretend for me?”
Eddie paused for a moment, actually considering the possibility. Its mere feasibility was another dagger through your already broken heart.
“Honestly, Heiress,” he finally said, “I don’t know what to think anymore.”
He left you in stunned silence, only the sounds of boulevard traffic filling the air. Life had been sucked out of the lobby, leaving it devoid of the lightheartedness it only began holding when Eddie came around.
Before him, before that night, you were alone. You were lonely. It had only been two months since then, yet you found it impossible to remember a time before him. Tonight felt like the first time you’d ever spent a shift by yourself.
What if you followed him back down the hall? What if you took his hand and held it, promising not to let go until you told your parents about the relationship? What if you peppered his face with kisses until his anger melted into something resembling forgiveness?
The young woman who you’d been on his first night in the motel would roll her eyes at the mess you’d become. She would have told you not to waste your efforts on a man, especially one who was so obviously a temporary fixture in your life. Dating a guest? One who had no connections to the city? It was destined for failure from the start.
Maybe it was best if you let him be for the evening. Give him some time to cool down. Not to mention, you’d be leaving the desk unmanned if you followed him, and what a way that would be to break the news to your parents.
Sorry I abandoned my job; I was just trying to keep my secret relationship with Eddie from ending. Did I mention that Uncle Mo and Aunt Tam caught up making out in the park?
Eddie didn’t leave his room for the rest of the night. You sighed with relief at six A.M. when Dad took the desk and there was no sign of Eddie.
He probably fell asleep, you reasoned as you changed into your pajamas. I’ll talk to him when I wake up and we’ll work it out.
You were done hiding your feelings.
As you tumbled into bed, the weight of exhaustion somehow heavier than your guilt, you mentally sketched out your apology. No, it was more than an apology; it was a promise. A promise to proudly be his girl no matter who was watching. A promise to give him your heart with no stipulations. A promise to be the team he thought you always were.
Tumblr media
For the first time in a long time, you awoke before your alarm. Nerves fluttered in your belly as you got dressed. You threw on the nearest clean clothes you could find, lest you wimp out before you even left the room.
Eddie, I’m so sorry. It’s me and you. I want it to be me and you. I’ll tell my parents about us right now so we don’t have to hide, because…I love you, Eddie Munson. I love the way you always pat your pocket for your cigarettes and lighter before you go anywhere. I love the way your tongue pokes out whenever you’re focused. I love the way you hold me, like I’m safe as long as you’re around.
And then you’d kiss him, soft and slow, losing yourself in his touch with the intention of never again leaving him behind.
Knock knock.
No answer.
Knock knock knock.
Again, nothing.
You waited for a few minutes—or maybe it was only a couple of seconds. Time crawled as you waited for him to answer.
“Eddie?”
Silence.
“Eddie?” One more, but louder. Loud enough to catch Dad’s attention from the lobby.
Dad’s brows knit together. “Eddie left this morning around 6:30. He didn’t tell you?”
Dread rose in your esophagus and almost had you hurtling towards the trashcan again.
Of course he left. Why wouldn’t he? What did he have to stay for? Did you actually expect him to give up the opportunity to tour for a life of motel repairs, subway station guitar shows, and a girlfriend afraid to have a public relationship?
“I assumed he told you…” The wrinkles in Dad's forehead became more pronounced with confusion.
You cleared your throat and faked a laugh. “Oh, right. I must’ve forgotten.” You gave yourself a little bop on the head as if to say, silly me! “I, uh, should probably clean his room.”
Dad nodded and said something about the washing machine acting up, and to be cognizant of laundry load size. And despite what you now knew, your first instinct was to ask Eddie to fix it.
Room four still smelled like his drugstore cologne and his cigarettes. In fact, that coupled with the used ashtray and the unmade bed were the only evidence that Eddie had been here at all. That this man hadn’t been a figment of your imagination for the past few months.
Your eyes roved the room for something—anything—to indicate a hint of forgiveness from him. Something to tell you this leave was only temporary. Maybe a note or even the phone number of where he’d be staying.
Probably with Fiona.
Your lungs struggled for air, tightening with each shallow breath. You couldn’t reach your room fast enough.
You pictured the two of them sharing a bed, limbs intertwined. He’ll look at her with love and desire: the talented badass girl he truly wanted. That he’d ever wasted time with someone who was quick to confront a stoned stranger but couldn’t lie to her parents would be a blip on his dating radar; a lapse in judgment he’d one day laugh off.
If he wasn’t already laughing at you.
Tumblr media
July arrived a few weeks later with near-literal roaring flames.
Independence Day brought a few extra guests to the motel, mostly young couples who booked last-minute getaways to see the Macy’s fireworks display. Raw envy bared its teeth with each affectionate touch and stolen kiss, and you’d had to hold back a biting remark every time you saw an exchange of intimate gestures.
You and Eddie could have taken a moment to watch the fireworks display, his arms wrapped around you and his chin on your shoulder as colors lit up the sky.
Heat came the week after.
It ripped through the city; even the local weatherman’s warnings didn’t fully capture just how stifling it would be.
A line of perspiration trickled down your back as you folded towels and placed them on the closet shelf.
Mom was at the desk, a battery-operated oscillating fan doing its best to keep her cool. It stopped mid-rotation, and she smacked it to start it up again.
“Dad didn’t get the big one?” The batteries must nearly be drained after use for days on end. The corded one would be better, and would last longer than one reliant on batteries.
Mom shook her head. “That thing sucks up electricity like a monster,” she said. “No use running up the bill over it. I’ll just pick up new batteries later.”
The mention of the motel’s financial decline sliced you open, and you quickly tried to patch the wound with a distraction.
“I can go now.” Before Mom could protest, you plucked your wallet from your room. It was brutally hot outside, the humidity enveloping you the moment you opened the front door. But anything was better than staying home and creating imaginary scenarios where Eddie would come from around the corner, wearing his signature smirk.
In some of your wilder daydreams, he wore little else.
Outside wasn’t much better than inside, especially with the sun beating down, but a breeze blew by every so often that provided some relief. Kids played in the street, opening fire hydrants and splashing around. They had no reverence for the beauty of childhood summers. Not yet—that would come with time, when opportunities to cherish that innocence were solidly in the past.
You and Ben used to play like that, your parents peering out of the motel window every so often to make sure you were both still there, still safe. Always looking out for you, even as you stretched into your teenage years and craved independence.
You should call Ben and meet up again. Maybe invite Nora, too. They’d take your mind off of your never-ending and ever-growing list of mistakes.
The trip to the convenience store was for naught, the cashier informing you that they were sold out of everything except for watch batteries. Same went for the next two stores you tried. Apparently everyone’s portable fans decided to crap out on the same day.
Resignedly, you trudged back to the motel. Maybe you could convince Mom to use the corded fan, or at least tell you where it had been stashed so you could set it up during your shift.
All thoughts of fan whereabouts disappeared when you got back to the motel and saw Mom and Dad standing at the desk. Dad kept his head down as though inspecting the scratched wood. Mom was the one glaring at you, an open envelope clutched in her hand. It bore a violet emblem on the top left-hand corner.
“What is this?” She phrased it as a question, but her clenched jaw told you that she already knew the answer.
“I-I don’t—”
Mom shook her head. “No. Don’t tell me you don’t know why you got a tuition bill from NYU.” She glanced once more at the logo. “From the Silberman School of Social Work, actually.”
You said nothing. Ever since Admitted Students’ Day, you always made sure to be around when the mail arrived. The one day you left, it arrived without warning.
Dad spoke your name in a breath. “How did you get into a social work program if you majored in hospitality?”
And then there was that. No lie, no matter how tangled the web, could explain the cold, hard proof in front of them.
Words poured out of you, barely giving you moments to breathe.
“I meant to tell you–I wanted to tell you. It’s just…you’ve been counting on me to take over the motel. I never wanted to let you down.” Despite your assumption that you’d depleted your reservoir of tears over Eddie, your throat tightened with the beginnings of a crying jag. “I just want to help people.”
Mom’s fist clenched around the envelope. “And how is this helping us?” She opened her mouth to speak again, but Dad gently placing his hand over hers temporarily silenced her.
“You lied to us,” Dad said. “You lied, and then you kept lying.”
“I know.” Your voice was so small that you could barely hear it. Or maybe that was because of your heartbeat thrumming in your ears.
“You know.” Mom scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “Well, how nice of you to be so self-aware.” She let out a disbelieving laugh. “So what did you major in? And how did that lead you to one of the most expensive schools in the city?”
You told them everything–the decision to study psychology, the graduate school fair that you’d attended, the student representative you’d spoken to who assured you that you’d make an excellent candidate for their Masters program. And lastly, you told them that the program requirements would prevent you from working at the motel starting next month.
Mom stayed angry, her eyes narrowed, biting down on the inside of her cheek to keep herself from interrupting you. But Dad…
He was slightly hunched over and unsettlingly quiet. You’d almost rather he’d be yelling, or at least hurling his feelings toward you like Mom was.
He looked at Mom when he finally spoke, but his words cut you with a serrated edge. “We can’t pay for a new employee. And we need a third person to run the place, unless you and I want to split twelve hour days–”
“No. I–I’ll fix this.” There was no way that your aging parents would be working over eighty hours a week. “I won’t go to NYU. I’ll call them right now and see if I can rescind my acceptance, and then I’ll cancel my student loans.”
“Do you really think we can trust you after all of this?” Mom’s shouting startled you, but your flinching didn’t deter you. “And let me guess–you have some part in Eddie leaving, too?”
Now that you weren’t expecting. The pause between Mom’s question and your nod gave her all of the information she needed.
“Let me get this straight,” she seethed. “You pick a major that has nothing to do with hospitality. You apply to and then accept an offer to a graduate program that means you can’t support the family business. You don’t tell us a word about any of this, so we’re sitting around like idiots instead of planning accordingly. And then,” she pointed her finger at you, “when we do find someone to help out around here, you strike up an inappropriate relationship that I told you would end badly.”
Dad’s teary eyes met yours. “How could you do this to us?” Once again, his whisper was a knife.
“I’m sorry.” You didn’t bother to wipe your cheeks, knowing they’d stay damp until you couldn’t cry any longer. “I’m so sorry. I’m so, so sorry.”
Your brain throbbed against your skull, the forming pounding headache distracting you from the flickering lights. Everything was blurred anyway.
Mom noticed–she always noticed when something was awry, even if she couldn’t pinpoint its exact cause. “Great, now the bulbs are going.”
“I’ll get some new ones.” You’d pay for them yourself if you had to; you wouldn’t dare touch any of the money in the register. “I’ll go out right now and–”
The lights flickered once more, only this time, they didn’t go back on. The hum of electricity died out in an instant. You poked your head out of the front door, heart sinking as you saw the other business owners doing the same thing. The block was quiet except for the exchange between a flour-covered pizzeria worker and the cashier of the ninety-nine cent store:
“Is yours out, too?”
“Sure is.”
An overwhelming stillness encompassed the neighborhood. There was no hum of air conditioning coming from any of the other businesses. Traffic lights had gone dark, drivers slowing to a crawl upon the realization that there was neither a red, yellow, nor green indicator. A glance down the street at the high-rise office buildings, their windows suspiciously void of their usual overhead lighting, told you that the rest of the city wasn’t faring any better.
A blackout. In the middle of the hottest week of the summer.
In more ways than one, you were totally and completely powerless.

Chapter 2- Awakening
Tumblr media
Summary: There was once a time in his life where knocking on your front door was the best part of Frankie's day. Now, the thought of having to ring your doorbell to face you makes him sick to his stomach.
Word Count: 4.1K
Pairing: Frankie Morales x f!reader (no use of y/n, reader has a name/nickname)
Warnings: (the tiniest hint of) smut (18+), illusions to masturbation (m), angst/regret, fluff, awkward adolescent yearning (I have quickly come to learn this is my favorite thing to write whoops), Frankie realizing he's caught a case of the ✨feelings ✨ and doesn't know what to do
A/N: Less than 10K word chapters?!? Posting a series on a schedule?!?! I don't even know who I am anymore?!?! AH, thank you guys for all your sweet words about this series so far. Writing this has sparked such a joy inside me, and it means so much that y'all are willing to read my silly lil story 🥺💛 This chapter is from Frankie's POV- I know the first chapter had both reader and Frankie, but as I've been writing, it seems like it fits the story better if some are both POV's and some are just one!

Frankie, Present
“Bring these next door.”
His mother doesn’t even ponder the idea of phrasing it as a question when she practically drops the plate of chocolate chip cookies into Frankie’s lap.
“Ma, it’s 7:30 in the morning.” Frankie looks up at her dumbfounded.
“And? You’ve never eaten a cookie for breakfast when you’re sad? Go now, they’re still warm.”
There’s no way he’ll be able to head anywhere but straight out his front door, but Christ, he at least hoped he would have been able to buy himself a little time before having to face you.
“I just got back from a run. I smell like shit. Can I at least shower first, por favor?”
“Fine,” she groans, reluctant to give in so easily, “but be quick. Don’t think I won’t turn the hot water off, mijo. I don’t want these getting cold.”
She knows her son would take an hour long shower if he could. It wouldn’t have been the first time he’s spent way too long in the bathroom, over analyzing every inch of himself before going to see you. His mom isn’t sure if she should thank you or not for her son’s dedication to hygiene. She could barely get him to shower for the first 10 years of his life, but after you moved in, a few days before the start of 6th grade, bathing had magically no longer become an issue.
Frankie understands her threat of an ice cold shower is very real, and a very effective way to finally get him four doors down. He lets the hot water wash over his skin, turning it to a temperature that’s almost too painful to stand. He hopes that somehow, it’s hot enough to wash away all the sins he’s prayed you’d forgive him for, that the regret of every poor decision he’s been plagued by washes down the drain, disappearing never to be seen again.
He wishes it was that easy. That a simple shower would grant him the forgiveness he’s not sure you’ll ever give him. He wouldn’t blame you if you never did.
He forces himself to put on the first pair of shorts and t-shirt that he pulls out of his suitcase. If he doesn’t, he’ll be stuck in his room for the rest of the day trying to figure out what to wear to bring a plate of cookies to your doorstep.
“You should apologize, you know.” It’s the first thing his mom has to say to him as he makes his way down the stairs, barely three steps into the kitchen before she’s at his throat again.
“For bringing them dessert at 7:30 in the morning? I was planning on it.” Frankie huffs, trying to deflect the plan for the real apology he knows he should be making.
“Dios mio, Francisco, you know what I mean. I hope you’ve thought about how you’re going to explain yourself to her. You owe that girl an apology for the hell you’ve put her through.”
Frankie can’t blame his mother for the way she’s twisting the knife that’s stuck in his gut. He’s the one who put it there in the first place.
“I know. I’ve thought about it, believe me.”
They both know that’s the truth. Frankie’s spent more hours than he can count thinking about what possible combination of words he can string together that won’t make you hate him anymore than you already do. In fact, he’s spent so long thinking about it, replaying the million and one things he could say to you over and over in his head, that he’s convinced there’s nothing he could tell you that would buy him even a shred of forgiveness.
“Fuck you, Mackenzie. Fuck you for ruining my life. It’ll be better off without you fucking in it.”
Three years ago, he disappeared out of your life and those were the last words he left you with. He's spent three years of letting the last thing he had to say you haunt him like some sort of ugly ghost he can't forget.
At this point, there's a part of him that's not even sure he's worthy of forgiveness.
“Mom?” Frankie asks, eyes peeled to the ground, trying to keep his voice from breaking, “Am I making a huge fucking mistake coming back here?”
“Well mijo,” She pauses, gently cradling her son’s face, lifting his chin enough to let his tired, worn eyes meet hers, “That, I cannot tell you. Some things you have to figure out on your own. I think this is one of them. But what I can tell you,” she stops again, ensuring Frankie is listening, really listening to what she has to say, “is that you have never been one to leave things unfinished. I think there are still things left to finish here for you, Francisco.”
The slow nod of his head in her palm tells her he’s heard every word. He knows he needs to finish what he’s started.
“You also need to finish bringing these cookies to the Andersons, sí? Don’t think I forgot.”
“Didn’t think you would.”
Frankie’s not sure the walk to your house has ever felt this long. Every step against the pavement makes his feet feel heavier, weighing his body down, its final attempt at keeping him from showing up at your front door. It takes every ounce of strength he has left to get him there, but he does. He won’t himself fail you again. He can’t.
When he knocks on your door, he’s suddenly 11 years old, palms sweating and heart racing as he rings your doorbell for the first time, hoping the cool girl who moved in down the street still wants to play football with him.
Right now, he’d give anything to be that 11 year old boy again. God, what he’d give to grab little him by the shoulders and shake all of the stupid decisions he plans on making in the years to come right out of him. He’d give anything for someone to come shake the stupid out of him now.
Seconds pass like hours as he waits for someone to answer his knock. Maybe it won’t be you who does. Maybe he’ll get lucky and it'll be your mom. Maybe your dad, who is sitting on his literal deathbed, will be blessed with some divine miracle that grants him the strength to get up and answer the door instead of you.
“Be right there!”
He’d recognize your voice anywhere. It’s been three years since he’s heard it. Even with all the time that’s passed, there’s not a doubt in his mind he knows it’s yours.
Fuck, he’s missed the sound of you more than he’d ever like to admit.
He braces himself as the lock clicks on the other side of the door. The knot in his stomach tightens as he watches it open.
His heart wants to burst out of his chest when you finally appear on the other side.
“F-Frankie?”
“Hi, Mackenzie.”
Tumblr media
Frankie, Fall of 2002, Age 14
It’s been 3 years, and Frankie still rings your doorbell every time he’s at your front door. Both you and your parents have been more than adamant he’s welcome to let himself in, at this point, they leave the door unlocked just for him.
As much as he wants to just slip through the front door unannounced to see you, he knows his mom would kill him if he didn’t wait to be let in and make his presence known.
“Francisco, I do not care how often you are over there, you are a guest in their home. If they are gracious enough to let you over, the least you can do is use your manners and greet them at the door.”
Frankie’s always been polite, but the world would stop spinning before his mother would let anyone else even have an inkling of thinking otherwise.
Truth be told, he doesn’t mind. He’d be hard pressed to find any 14 year old who didn’t have some sort of complaint about their parents, but you never really do, and he can see why.
They’re your parents, and he loves his mamá more than life, but the Anderson’s had taken Frankie under their wing from the moment he had crossed the threshold from their patio to their living room and never looked back.
It didn’t take long for the three toned chime of your doorbell to become the favorite part of his daily routine.
“Hi Frankie! Come on in, honey.”
Mrs. Anderson has that soft kind of sweetness that would make anyone’s day brighter, the kind of gentleness that a gardener has when tending to a field of their favorite flowers. She’s the type of person that would put anyone before herself, to a fault. It’s no wonder that given the circumstances, a house that should be shrouded in sadness is one of the places that Frankie feels the happiest.
“Thanks Mrs. Anderson. Can I put this in the freezer for Kenz? I figured she may want it when she gets home later.” Frankie gestures down to the chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzard he’s holding, trying to keep it from melting any further.
It’s become a sacred ritual that every Friday night, you and him ride your bikes to the Dairy Queen two miles down the road. He always gets an Oreo Blizzard, you, a chocolate chip cookie dough one. On the few Friday nights you can’t spend together, it’s an unspoken agreement that a Blizzard will still end up in the other’s freezer for the next day. It’s only happened once that a cookie dough Blizzard hasn’t been found in your residence within 24 hours of the start to your weekend- the one time Frankie was out of town to visit his family, you were pleasantly surprised to find not one, but two Blizzards in your freezer on Monday night upon his return.
“Frank the Tank! How’s it going, buddy?”
It’s always nice to see your dad up and around the house. His cancer has taken a lot of things from him, but his personality certainly isn’t one of them. Some bouts of chemo and treatment are worse than others, but it never ceases to keep Mr. Anderson from being the happiest man Frankie’s ever met. You always tease Frankie that he comes over to your house so often just so he can spend time with your dad. While of course it’s not 100% true that Doug Anderson is the only reason Frankie finds himself at your doorstep nearly every day, he also won’t deny the sense of comfort it brings him that your dad treats him like his own son.
“Hi Mr. Anderson!” Frankie smiles, shoving your Blizzard in the top left corner of your freezer between the ice packs and frozen vegetables.
“Another Blizzard for me? Always so generous, Frank. I’m convinced you might start running a Dairy Queen out of our kitchen pretty soon.” Mr. Anderson teases, giving Frankie a light punch to the shoulder. “How’d your algebra test go the other day, bud?”
“Pretty good, I think.” Frankie shrugs, trying to play off his confidence.
“Think you got a higher score than Kenzie?”
“I think so. But don’t tell her that.”
“Oh believe me, I will. Smart kid like you has gotta put her in her place every once and a while.”
Frankie blushes. School has never been his strong suit. He’s smart in the way he could fix just about anything from the time he could barely walk, but sitting in a classroom trying to absorb information through reading, taking notes and test taking has always made him feel like an idiot. You, on the other hand, could graduate in your sleep with straight A’s. He’s not sure how you do it, but it’s enough motivation to make him want to at least try. He thanks his lucky stars that this year, math is finally starting to make sense, and he’s got the upper hand on you for now.
“Is Kenz upstairs? I know she’s got her soccer banquet tonight, I just wanted to hang out for a little before she has to go.”
Normally he wouldn’t mind staying longer to talk to your dad, but on days he knows he’s working on a limited time table, efficiency is of the essence.
“Should be. If not, we have a problem on our hands.”
Frankie scurries from the kitchen and through the living room, up the familiar and well traveled path to your bedroom door. His heart always races a little faster every time he reaches the top step to the second floor.
Normally, it’s three long strides to cross the threshold into your bedroom before he plops himself on the edge of your bed, but as he takes a left turn at the top of the stairwell, he’s surprised to find your bedroom door is closed, and locked.
“Kenz! It’s me! Open up!” Frankie raps his fist on the back of your door, knuckles thumping against the wood.
“Not now, Frankie!”
He’s taken aback by your protest, scrunching his brow at your response and the distress in your voice through the other end of the door.
“What? Why? What’s wrong?” He asks, now a little more concerned.
“It’s just- Ugh! It’s nothing! It’s stupid, okay! I just don’t have time for this right now!”
You and him both know that’s not enough to get him to leave. Frankie is persistent. He’s not going anywhere until you open that door and he gets an answer as to what’s making you so upset.
“C’mon, MacKenzie.”
He only pulls the full name card for serious occasions, because he knows it’ll work. It’ll work every time. That’s why he can’t help but smirk at the click of your door handle unlocking, giving him permission to step inside.
Except he can’t.
“Kenz, get off the door and let me in!”
“I’m not on the door! Ugh, hold on.”
With the force Frankie was using, he nearly falls flat on his face as the barricade you’d built on your side of the door is removed, stumbling into your room and landing face first in a pile of clothes. As he looks up, he’s greeted with a sight he’s never once seen before in your room, and he has no idea what to make of it.
“Jesus Christ, dude, what happened in here?!”
To say a bomb had exploded in your closet would have been a polite way to put it. Every piece of clothing you owned was now a casualty on your bedroom floor, down to every last pair of shoes. You could barely stand to have a singular, stray sock on the ground, your bedroom always the near picture perfect scene of immaculately neat. So to see the disaster your room had become, Frankie knew that something had gone very, very wrong.
“I don’t have anything to wear for tonight!”
“Yeah you do, have you seen all the clothes on your floor? I think you have enough clothes for a small village.”
“Francisco!”
If she’s already pulling the full name card on him too, it must be serious.
“Sorry! Is this because of the end of the season soccer party tonight? I thought you said you were just gonna wear like, a skirt or something?”
Frankie’s never even contemplated the idea of you being upset over an outfit. You’d always been amicable in the wardrobe department- t-shirt, shorts, sneakers, same has him. This is uncharted territory for the both of you.
“Yeah, but then at lunch today Katie and Morgan said all of the Seniors want to dress up, like, really nice, and now I’m freaking out because I don’t know what to wear and I don’t wanna look like an idiot Freshman who shows up in something dumb.”
Frankie knows you’re stressed from how intensely you’re picking at the skin around your nails, leg bouncing furiously while your eyes dart around the room at the heaps of clothes stacked around the floor.
“You’re not gonna look dumb, Kenzie. You’re the only Freshman that’s made the Varsity soccer team in like, a million years. Hard to look stupid if you’re that good.”
It may not be much help, but it’s at least enough to bring you off the brink of tears.
“I guess,” you pause, too stubborn to admit that he’s right, “It’s just- all the other girls on the team are so pretty. When we’re playing it doesn’t matter ‘cause we’re all sweaty and gross, but- I don’t know, I feel like I’m gonna look so awkward next to everyone.”
But you are pretty.
It’s the first thought that pops into Frankie’s brain. He’s not sure how it got there so fast. All of a sudden he feels a hundred degrees hotter, hoping you won’t notice the way he visibly tries to shake the thought out of his head..
Where did that come from? She’s your friend, Frankie. Your best friend. She’s not pretty, she’s just MacKenzie.
“You won’t look awkward, you’re gonna be fine. I promise.” He’s relieved his response doesn’t seem to raise any suspicions, like you would have been able to read his mind and watch his thinking play out in real time.
“If I um- If I- Never mind, this is stupid! Ugh, this is stupid.”
You’re pacing now, arms crossed so tightly over your chest, he’s worried you’re going to squeeze your own eyes out like one of those little squishy toys you win from a claw machine. That’s if you don’t burn a hole in your carpet first.
“What?”
“If I-” You stammer again, scrunching your face at your own frustration, “If I try on what I think I should wear, will you tell me if it looks dumb or not?”
You’ve asked Frankie plenty for plenty of favors in the three years you’ve known him- being the one to lead the two of you home on a bike ride in the dark, opening your pudding for you at lunch because it exploded on you once and you’re terrified it will again, catching the giant spider that makes a recurrence in the top right corner of your bedroom and throwing it out the window- He’s not sure why out of all those things, this is the most terrifying favor you’d ever asked of him.
“Y-yeah. Okay.”
The two of you quietly nod at each other for a moment, Frankie hoping that he’s not the only one who’s wondering why the air has all of a sudden seemed to have gotten thicker.
“Okay. Well, um- turn around.” You point for him to take his usual spot on the edge of the bed, ensuring that his back’s to you and eyes only have the choice to roam the floor or the wall above your desk before he hears the shuffling of clothes behind him.
It’s then that everything starts to move in slow motion, like a flip has suddenly switched in Frankie’s brain as a wave of unsolicited thoughts begin to flood his head, feeling himself drown in the panic and confusion that’s washing over him.
What if he did turn around? You’re probably taking off your clothes right now. Are you in just your underwear? What color is it? Maybe you’re all the way naked. What would you look like? Why does he all of a sudden want to know so bad? What’s wrong with him?
In his manic state, his eyes are darting everywhere, trying to find something to lock onto that will shake him from whatever obscene cycle of thought he’s caught himself in. He instantly regrets when he lets his gaze fall to his feet, because peeking out of the pile of clothes beneath him is the better part of a bra.
Your bra.
He feels so awful that he can’t stop looking at it. So guilty that he can’t help the fact he’s trying to commit every detail of it to his brain- the teal and green polka dots, the thin lace that covers the shoulder strap, the little bow that sits in between the two cups where your breasts would go. He can’t stop staring. He can’t stop thinking about  what you would look like in it. The only thing that stops him is hearing your voice from over his shoulder. And somehow, your voice only makes his chest feel tighter.
“You promise you won’t make fun of me if I look stupid?” Your words are so soft, delicate and fragile in a way he’s never heard you use them before. However scared you are, right now, Frankie would be willing to take that feeling and triple it for himself.
“Promise.”
His eyes are still closed when he swings his legs over the other edge of the bed. He’s too afraid to open them.
“You’re gonna have to open your eyes, unless you’ve suddenly obtained x-ray vision that you haven’t told me about in the last thirty seconds.”
The way you tease him grounds him enough to give in. It doesn’t ground him enough from leaving him speechless the moment he opens his eyes.
“Kenz… You uh, you- um-”
He’s stumbling over his words, trying to find them fast enough to stop the disappointment that’s flooding over your face because you think he hates the way you look. That couldn’t be farther from the truth.
“I look dumb, don’t I? It’s fine, Frankie, you can just say it.” You’re back to pacing again, storming around your room with a desperate, crazed look in your eye. “Ugh! This sucks! Why is this so hard, I just wanna-”
“You look really pretty.”
It stops you dead in your tracks. He can almost hear how hard you gulp, looking back at him like a deer in headlights.
“W-what?”
You ask it like you didn’t hear exactly what he said. He knows you did. You always do. It doesn’t stop him from trying to twist his words to help him out of the hole he’s already dug himself into.
“Your- Your dress. It looks really nice. You should wear it.”
He’s not sure how much time passes as the two of you finally lock eyes. Thirty seconds? Ten minutes? An hour? The way you’re looking at him right now is enough to make his world stop turning. It only makes it worse that he swears he can see your lips trying to fight the smile that’s slowly curling in the corner of your mouth.
“MacKenzie! We need to go, sweetie! Dad and I will meet you in the car!”
Frankie doesn’t know if it’s divine intervention or a devilish curse that your mom is calling for you from the bottom of the stairs. Whatever it is, it’s enough to snap both of you out of the strange spell that had overcome your bedroom and make Frankie feel like the only appropriate response was to race out of your house and hide in embarrassment for the next forty-eight hours.
“I should um- I should go, too. Santi’s probably waiting for me at his house. Have fun tonight, okay?”
“Yeah, o-okay. You have fun, too. Tell Ding Dong I say hi. See you tomorrow?”
“Yeah. See you tomorrow.”
Frankie’s in a trance the rest of the night. Physically, he spends the next few hours in Santi’s basement, glued to the couch while his friend yells at him that he’s not using the right combination of moves to max out his points in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. Mentally, he’s convinced he no longer exists on the same planet as anyone else around him.
When he gets home, all he can do is stare at his ceiling. If he closes his eyes to try to fall asleep, the only thing he can see is that teal and green bra laying on your bedroom floor.
He wishes the thought of you in it didn’t make his stomach churn. He wishes it wasn’t you he was picturing when he lets his hand creep below the waistband of his sweatpants. He wishes it wasn’t your name he was muttering under his breath as he makes a mess in hand, hips stuttering into his grasp.
He wishes it wasn’t you.
At least that’s what he tells himself. Maybe one day, it’ll work.

Hi my love!! Hope you’re well 😊 I’ve never sent a request before so I hope this is intelligible.
So Older!Eddie and reader have a relationship she’s hiding from her strict religious parents because Eddie is of course a Metalhead and his appearance and such, whereas she’s younger (about 21) and has always been brought up surrounded by bible verses, hymns and the belief that anything impure will send her to Hell. However, when she begins her relationship with Eddie, she begins to break away from her parents beliefs and has all her firsts with Eddie.
They have this beautiful relationship where he’s completely enamoured and soft with her, all patient and understanding because he knows she’s new to it all. And one day, her mother sees her car parked outside of Eddie’s trailer (I imagine him to live in his own, still in the trailer park) when driving past and confronts reader when she’s home. It’s all angsty, telling her she’ll never get to have kids with him, he’ll never stick around and she won’t want to spend the rest of her life trailing along behind him as he grows old, not living her life or making anything of herself because of it. Her parents do nothing but ignore her presence around the house, even going as far to take down the pictures of her from the walls
Her mom’s words stay on her mind and she pulls away from Eddie, leaving him terrified of what’s happened and if she’s leaving him. She goes there a couple days after, repeating it all to Eddie and trying to convince herself that her mother was right in the process. She doesn’t budge when Eddie tries convincing her whilst crying from her harsh words to him. So it’s a big emotional argument with Eddie grasping her arm as she tries to leave, crying as he kisses her skin all over, murmuring about how much he loves her.
As she goes to leave his trailer for the last time once he’s stopped begging her not to, they stare at each other tearfully before she begins sobbing, running into his arms and she explains everything and ends up leaving her parents and moving in with Eddie. Happy Ending???
Sorry this was so long 😅
Fair warning- I did not grow up religious, and it was never taught to me, so my description of it might be totally off. And I hope that does not offend anyone
I hope this is what you wanted and you enjoy it! Thank you for requesting 🫶🏻

Y/N lived in a structured home, with structured parents. She was taught to pray before she rests her head, pray before every meal, and be a girl God would have been proud of. She lived in a cloud, her eyes and ears shut off how the world truly was. Her parents had her in a bubble where perfection was the standard and she better not be a dash less.
She didn't know any better, raised in her parents' ways that she never knew there was so much more to the world. Then she met Eddie, tall dark, and handsome. He was mysterious, alternative, had long hair, and listened to the devil's music. He used absurd language and had the mind of a sinner. But Y/N swore whenever she saw him, she saw what a true angel looked like.
His smile beamed and he had this glow. Warm brown eyes that made her feel lost, and arms that grounded her. She didn't know what love would feel like, but she knew that this was it.
He was older, had seen the world, and made it back. He was a survivor who got his hands dirty in the soil. He lived alone and made his own money to feed and shelter himself. Everything a man was supposed to be in the books she grew up reading. But she knew he could never go home to her parents. One look at him and they'd shun him down to hell. That was the sad part about her parent's religion, it masked their eyes to people who weren't afraid to live freely in the world.
Once their relationship took off, she came clean about everything. About the religion, her parents, and that she was new to everything. Eddie was slow, and patient, and held her hand through everything. He showed her the ropes of being in a relationship. Teaching her that she didn't have to be sorry for not doing everything perfectly on the first try. He allowed her to fail, to try again, and to feel pride in herself.
He showed her the world. She listened to music her parents would hate. She watched inappropriate movies. She wore new clothes and pieces that made her feel sexy. She kissed and kissed. She went further, having sex with a man without a ring on her finger.
"Are you sure?" Eddie whispered, his naked body on top of hers as his long hair dangled around her face. His eyes stayed on hers, his left hand on her hip, and right on her face.
"Yes"
She whined in pain as he slowly slid in, pressing kisses all over her face as he rubbed her hip with his thumb. Sweet words fell from his lips as her body welcomed him in.
He talked her through the pain, the anxiety washing away as she looked into the eyes of the only man she had ever loved. The pain turned to bliss as he moved inside of her. His lips and hands were on her skin, and the warm feeling of him was inside of her. She cried out as she felt things she had never felt before, clawing at Eddie's skin.
And she didn't regret any of it.
Eddie loved her more than anything in the world. He understood her fear of the world around her and breaking away from everything she had learned. He didn't ruin her or make her damaged goods. He didn't believe in the same beliefs as her, but he would always respect it.
After a year of being together, he was amazed at her growth. He knew she couldn't bring him home and he was okay with that. He had a trailer all to himself and he loved adding her in. He loved her things in his shower and room. Her favorite snacks are in his pantry and drinks are in his fridge.
He wanted the next step. He wanted her home to be his home.
~~~
"Smells amazing in here," Y/N said softly, wrapping her arms around Eddie's waist as he stood by the stove. The smell of chicken filled his small home, and she could feel her stomach growling.
"I think," he started, turning around so he could face her. He pushed her hair away from her neck, leaning down as his nose tickled her skin. "You smell amazing."
She shivered as his lips kissed her neck, and his strong hands held her hips. He pulled back and captured her lips in a kiss. His warm lips pressed against hers as she felt her body float. Every kiss made her head spin in the clouds.
She pulled away with a blush and a smile
"I love you" he whispered
"I love you too"
They had a romantic dinner and then she was heading home. A smile on her face as she walked through the front door. Her body buzzed as she felt the ghost of his hands on her.
She smiled at her mother, preparing to walk past her but her mother stopped her.
"I prayed you would be smart enough to not disappoint God, but I seem to be wrong."
Y/N gulped as she looked into her mother's angry eyes. Her stomach turned in miserable ways.
"What do you mean?" She asked nervously
"You cannot be with that...that devil of a man!" Her mother seethed, standing up as her chair scraped against the floor.
"He's not the devil, Mom." She said quietly, "he's a good guy"
"Oh my, he has already brainwashed you!" Her mother argued
"Brainwashed me? How?" Y/N asked, feeling anger rushing through her bones
"He has taken advantage of your young age! He is a grown man and doing what knows what with a naive and stupid young girl. That man is heading to hell and I will not let you go there with him. You hear me, young lady?" Her mother got closer as her words got louder
Y/N felt backed against a wall, tears in her eyes
"I'm not stupid! I love him and he loves me. There is nothing wrong with that. He did not take advantage of me and I have a full say in our relationship. I do the things I want to do and he never forces anything. I'm not shunned to hell simply because I am in love." Y/N argued, standing up for herself and Eddie. Something she would have never done if Eddie didn't teach her.
"A relationship? Do you think your little fun is a relationship? You are far more stupid than I thought. You cannot marry a man who is over ten years older than you. You cannot stop living your life, in your prime years, simply because he is growing old. Do you realize that? Do you want kids? Not going to happen when the father is in his forties. He isn't going to be tied down to that. Your life will be put on hold, and you will never make something of yourself." Her mother spoke the words right in her face.
And Y/N hated the way the words affected her body
"You will not be my daughter for as long as you walk hand in hand with the devil."
The last words her mother ever said to her.
~
Y/N truly believed it would get better as each day passed, but it didn't. Her parents ignored her around the house. Never turning their eyes her way, never speaking towards her. They never talked about her and went as far as to take her pictures off the walls. It was like she was a ghost and watching her family live without her.
She tried to ignore it. Live her life like nothing changed. She didn't say anything to Eddie because she believed she could handle it. But she couldn't. Whenever she saw him, her mother's words haunted her brain.
So she began to pull away, staying locked in her room as she felt unworthy of being anywhere else. Was she a bad person? Would God shame her for the decisions she made? Would she ever be forgiven? Did she want to be forgiven?
~~~
A week passed after she pulled away from Eddie and he panicked. He had no idea what happened and what changed. All he knew was that he hated it more than anything. He wanted her back and to love each other as easily as it always was.
Y/N felt like Eddie deserved a goodbye, and she could at least give him that.
She left her house, without a word. Her heart was heavy as she knocked on his door.
She tucked herself in her arms when he opened the door. She held back the gasp when she took in his state. His hair was wild and messy, eyes so red and puffy. His cheeks were raw and his lips bruised, probably from biting them so hard.
"Baby" he breathed out in relief, his arms went to wrap around her but she stepped back.
Eddie bit his lip as he also stepped back. A new rush of tears was already falling down his face. She looked tired and sad, and he hated it.
"What happened?" He asked, letting her walk inside as he closed the door.
"I think we need to break up, Eddie." She said. Eddie felt his heart stop as the words left her lips.
"What? Why?"
"It's just...in the long run, this relationship isn't going to work. I want a marriage and I want kids. We can't have that. You are only getting older and I'm still so young. There's so much of the world I need to see."
"Who says we can't do that all together? I'll marry you, I'll have all the kids you want. I'll fly you anywhere you want to go. Age has never been an issue, and it doesn't have to be. We can stay together and I'll give you everything you want." Eddie fought, his hands reaching out to clench over hers.
She hiccupped as she tried to keep her sobs hidden. But he stood with his tears flying freely and his heart on his sleeve.
"You don't want that Eddie! You've left this town and always came right back. You aren't going to leave for some random girl" she snapped
Eddie wasn't sure what happened but he knew it was something he needed to fix. He hated that she seemed so mad and already made up her mind.
"You aren't a random girl! I'm in love with you. Maybe I always came back to this town because you were here." He cried, moving his hands up to her shoulders as he gripped onto her for life.
"That's bullshit, Eddie. This wasn't an act of faith from the universe. You wanted fun with someone young, and naive enough to believe it could have been love." Her eyes were hard as she glared at him. Almost like she blamed him for the relationship ever starting.
"Stop it! This is love! It's always been love. You can't say this shit and act like it's common knowledge. I'd do anything for you. Just please, let us fix this." He begged. No shame as he showed just how vulnerable he was.
"EDDIE STOP! THIS ISN'T LOVE," she screamed as she pushed him away.
"YES IT IS!" he screamed back but allowed her to push him away.
"IT'S NOT! WE CAN'T HAVE KIDS! I NEED TO MAKE SOMETHING OF MYSELF BEFORE I START A FAMILY. We can't wait for that, Eddie. We can't have kids when you are fifty, I'll be stuck raising them alone I don't wanna just be someone's wife! I offer more to the world" she argued
"What can I say to change your mind?" He whispered, "What can I say to make you believe me? I don't care what age I am when we have kids. And you'd never be alone!" His hands held her face as she sniffled. "I've been here and I always will be. Right next to you through everything. You are more than just a wife, and I will watch you conquer the world but please let me be there with you."
"I'm sorry, but you can't" she sobbed, softly taking his hands off her face. "This is the end, Eddie." She ran past him, throwing open the door as she ran out. Running from him and running from all the pain she caused.
But Eddie wasn't one to give up. He ran after her. He grabbed her arm and twisted her right into his body. The impact of her body smashing into his caused the breath to leave her lungs.
"I love you. I love everything about you" he cried. His lips were wet from tears as he pressed kisses to her skin. He kissed up her arms, neck, and face. Kissing everything as he mumbled all the love he had for her. "No one will ever love you the way I do. Believe me. Trust me and stay with me."
She sobbed as his words hit her skin. She bit her lip as she tried to pull away. Crying harder as his grip got tighter.
"Eddie, let me go"
"No" he cried
"Eddie, you need to let me go"
"Baby, I can't do that"
"EDDIE, LET ME GO!" she sobbed
"You really want to end this?" He asked
She didn't say a word but nodded. She felt a whimper leave her throat when he let her go. Distance between them and it killed her to know there would be so much more once she got in her car and drove away.
"I won't stop you. But, what's your plan? Leave me and move on? Find someone your age to fall in love with? Like everything we've done together is gonna just be a memory? Am I just going to be a memory?" His voice cracked as more tears fell. But he stood still, allowing her to leave.
"I...I don't know"
"You are okay with ending this for an I don't know? I know that I will never move on and I will never fall in love with anyone else. Can you?" He asked, holding his breath as he waited for her to answer.
"No," she said without a beat. She knew once she left, all she would do was think about him. Wish that every man she'd ever meet was him.
They stared at each other in silence. Tears down their faces as they soaked in each other for one last time.
He refused to move first, he refused to walk away. But she felt frozen in the dirt. Visions of her future life and she saw him in every part. If she left, all it would do would please her parents. It would leave her heartbroken and filled with regret. It was clear this man loved her. The way he was fighting for her was a sign that she was right where she was supposed to be.
Neither were sure of how long they stood there. Seconds, minutes, or even hours. Time didn't seem to exist.
Y/N felt a huge sob coming up her throat, the sob was loud as she choked on her own tears. And she ran again, but this time straight into his arms. He sobbed into her hair as he wrapped his arms around her.
"I'm so sorry. My mom got in my head but I love you so much. I can't leave you. I want you. I want us." She sobbed, her words coming out broken but Eddie understood. He held her tighter as he cradled her head into his chest. "They hate me. I don't even have a home anymore. But I'll never be happy if I leave you."
"Home is right here. Right here with me." He said into her hair, kissing her head as he embraced the feeling of her in his arms.
He was right. Home was never that house. Home was everything she felt while being in his arms.

my sister says the saddest things - paul x reader
A hand was splayed out, watching the light of the diamonds bounce around in the room. A smile was thrown your way as you watched your little sister admire her ring.
A tight smile was all you could give her. The ring surely was beautiful. However, it didn’t stop you from furrowing your eyebrows. You move your laptop out of the way as you sit up straighter.
“I thought you didn’t like the idea of marriage?” you question her.
She shrugs as she continues to stare at it, “We had to compromise.” she answers quietly.
“What?” you ask, wanting to know what it was, opening your ears so the words from her mouth could be clear.
“He…If I marry him, he’ll change me.” she rushes out but not meeting your gaze.
Standing up slowly, “What?” you knew your sister was smarter than this.
“Why?” you ask, not angrily but in a disappointed tone.
“We will be with each other forever. I don’t want to grow old and Edward still looks the same.” she tells you as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
You look elsewhere as you pace a bit. Bella blows out a breath, as you ask quietly, “So..He’s going to do it exactly when?”
“After graduation.”
“Bella you’ve got to be kidding me.” you say to her as she looks down, “Are you serious?” you ask her again.
“I will still be me. It’s not like I’m going to change and become a different person.” She says to plead her case.
“Yes you will. You will be a cold one. A monster.” you say to her, gritting a bit.
“I will not! You don’t have to use those words.”
“What other words can I call that? Seriously. Sure, you’ll live forever but the moment that venom enters your blood stream I will lose you forever. What about mom? What about dad?” you say and continue to pace.
“I will still keep in contact. That’s why you don’t have to worry.” she says, not even thinking about changing her mind.
“You’re altering your life for some boy. A boy who isn’t even a boy but 119 years old! Come on, think!” you tell her, trying to keep your voice from pitching since Charlie was only downstairs in the living room.
“He’s not some boy and you know that. He’s my soulmate just like Paul is yours.” she says, taking a bit of offense.
“I don’t know. Soulmates don’t dump you in the middle of the woods. Soulmates don’t leave you for months on end and claim it’s to ‘protect you’ ” you say as you form quotation marks with your fingers.
Bella stands and narrows her eyes at you, “Wow.” she says and just leaves out of your room, not bothering to close the door back. You move to the door and push to slam it. A frustrated sigh moves past your lips as tears start to prickle.
Being a vampire wasn’t normal. Sure being a shapeshifter wasn’t exactly normal either but at least they still had a heart beat that thumps. They didn’t have to die to transform.
There was still months of school left. You were in your freshman year of community college while she was still in her last year of high school. It made you sad that you didn’t want the school year to end. You hoped and prayed that it would drag on just so you could still be around your living and breathing sister.
At breakfast, things were a bit tense. You kept staring at her and Bella kept staring at you. Charlie noticed as he set his coffee cup down and clears his throat.
“You girls alright?” he asked.
Bella doesn’t say anything but you broke the silence by getting up, “See you dad, I’m going to be late.” you tell him and push in your chair.
You didn’t bother to say goodbye to Bella, at that moment, goodbye meant forever.
You didn’t have a lot of classes this day, but after them, you camped out on the campus library. Deciding to do your homework there instead of home like you always do. You received a text from your little sister.
“Not hanging out with Edward today. Dad is working a double today. Want to just grab something ?”
“I’m okay. I’m going to study instead”
You finish typing back.
Any other time she hung with Edward after school, but you knew she wanted to make things right. You didn’t know how she could even let such thought cross her mind. You felt a dark cloud over yourself, loom as you tried to focus on your work.
Your shoulders were slumped as you listened to Paul’s voice on the phone later that night. His words didn’t process through your brain as your brain was already stuffed on how life would like for you and your sister in the future.
The sister who was cooped up in her room, knowing Edward snuck in through the window.
“Hello?” you hear Paul say into the line.
“Yes?” you say snapping out of your thoughts.
“Did you hear what I said?” Paul asks you.
He didn’t give you any hints as you say, “Um…you were talking about….I don’t know.” You finally say, defeated to give an answer.
“What were you doing?” He asks.
You rub your tired eyes, “Was just thinking about something. Sorry. Can you repeat what you said?”
“Emily’s. Are you coming tomorrow?” he asked again.
The brain inside of your noggin was flashing a trailer of feelings of how you would feel around a gathering of people. You just didn’t have it in you.
“No. I’m uh…I have a lot of work to do.” you tell him.
“You just told me you did your homework.” he plainly says, catching you red handed in a lie.
“Well, I will have homework tomorrow.” you say in a cruelty tone , taking your frustrations out on him and hang up.
Tossing the phone away from you on the other side of the bed, you put your head into your hands. You then scowl at your door.
You just kept thinking about how unfair it was for Edward to agree to do such a thing to Bella. It was like they both didn’t think or care about you or the family you and Bella came from.
You placed a pillow over your eyes, trying your best to wait for the day to pass.
The days passed slowly, your body losing the motivation to rise up out of bed. Missing classes, you just didn’t have it in you to care.
A soft but cautious knock was on your bedroom door. Your cheek was on your pillow. You didn’t have the energy to open your mouth to speak so you let the person behind your door to decipher which answer you would give.
Choosing the ‘come in’ option, your door slowly opens as you hear a meek voice speak, “Are you okay?”
You roll your eyes a bit as your head didn’t face the door. You continue to stare out of the window that faced the bed that you were currently in.
You felt a dip near your covered feet with a hand on your shoulder.
“I made you dinner.” Bella tells you.
You close your eyes and sigh, “I’m not hungry.”
The thought of food didn’t appeal to you. In fact, it made your stomach churn.
“You think people aren’t noticing but I do. You barely ate in days.” Bella calls out. You finally face her. She shakes her head as her eyes travel your face.
“And you look horrible. Whatever’s going on, we can talk about it.”
“There’s nothing to talk about.” you tell her listlessly.
“Yes, there is. You’ve been blowing the pack off too. I’m tired of lying for you.” she says.
Throwing the covers off of you, you sit up. “You don’t have to lie for me.”
“Well, you’ve been acting like this since I told you about…you know.” she says.
You cross your arms and glare at a spot on your bedroom wall past her head.
“Come on, Y/N. I know you’re thinking about the worst possible outcome but it will be okay. I promise.” she tried to smoothly say but your face contort into a sorrow look as your lips tremble.
Your hand flies to your face as tears roll down your cheeks. There’s a lot that could happen.
“Please don’t cry. You’ll make me cry.” Bella says as she moves in to hug you.
“Bella just stop. You’re making things worse.” you tell her irritated, pushing her away.
“How?” she asks, feeling the unfairness.
“What do you mean how? You want me to be happy for you? Happy that you’re becoming the enemy.”
“There is no enemy. I will still be your sister. You know that the Cullens have a vegetarian diet so that’s what I will of course will fall into. It’s not like I’m going to be murdering people like the bad ones.”
“Two wings on the same bird, Bella.” you darkly say. You lay back down and turn away from her.
Bella sighs as she looks down. There was nothing else for her to say. However, she didn’t want to leave so soon. She felt it was important you two come to an understanding at least.
“Well, will you at least call Paul?” she asks. She waits for an answer but she doesn’t receive one.
You would, but your phone is dead. You didn’t feel like putting in the energy into charging it.
She sighs again and gives you the privacy that you wanted granted. You were glad that she finally left. The silent tears rolled down again, you didn’t have to worry about someone stopping you from crying.
You grudgingly walk out of your campus, with the goal being getting coffee at a nearby coffee shop.
You hear Paul’s voice as your hand was on the glass door. You turn and see his face, raking over you to see what to think about the sight in front of him.
“What’s going on?” he says, tugging you to him, away from the shop. He smushed your body to his. In a way you did feel a bit better, being around him and in his arms.
“Hm?” he asks as he noticed you haven’t said again.
You try to find the right words as he patiently waited. You sigh, before looking to him, “My sister says the saddest things.” you tell him choking up and this makes him pull you back to him again. You bury your face into his chest to hide the tears that threatened to fall.
“Do you want to talk about it? I’m here if you want to talk.” He offers as you nod after a moment. He takes both thumbs to wipe your hot, salty tears away.
As you sip your hot beverage, Paul decides to speak after moments of processing all that you word vomited to him.
“If you tried talking to her and she’s still being set on it, it might just be out of your hands.” he carefully says. He hasn’t taken a drink of his own beverage. His arms were folded and his face was deep in thought.
”There’s no positivity about this. Why would she trade in her beautiful natural life for something so bleak and dangerous?”
Paul plays a bit with his cup as he looked not directly at you, but at a spot in front of you on the table.
“You have to look at it as, she’s 18. If that’s what she chooses, it’s her choice.” he says.
“I feel like I failed to protect her.”
“You did the best you could. I’m sure you did. But, it’s the life she chose. It’s out of your hands.” He says and you push your cup away.
You wrap your arms around your waist, your mind starts to think about having to accept the reality of your sister’s life.
He places a warm hand on yours, covering it completely before picking it up and keeping your hand in both of his hands.
“What would you do? If it was your sister I mean.” you ask him and he thinks for a moment.
“Of course I would be pissed off but… I would want her to be happy. It seems like Bella wouldn’t cut you out of your life.”
You hoped what he was saying was true. He looks at your hand that’s being covered by both of his, “You don’t have to shut me or the pack out you know?”
You nod, looking down.
“I’m sorry. I will make them something to extend my apologies.” You knew they went crazy for your baked treats.
Going home, you receive a call from Leah. You answer even though your phone was low on battery.
“You went AWOL. That’s so rude.” she says instead of a hello.
You tiredly laugh, “I’m sorry. I’ve just been…” you look to the side and sigh in disparity. There wasn’t much words that could explain how you’re feeling.
“What are you doing tomorrow?”
“Uh-“
“Exactly. Nothing. So, me and Kim will pick you up tomorrow okay?” Leah tells you and ends it with that.
As you cut the excess dough from a pie that you were making, Bella comes home. She placed her keys on the hook by the front door.
“It smells good.” Bella says grinning as she steps into the kitchen, where you were.
The lit oven showed two other pies that were currently baking. Bella was glad was that you weren’t rotting in bed. She stands next to your work station as she looks over what you have done so far.
“Do you need any help?” Bella asks.
“I got it.” you tell her.
“Are you still mad?” Bella asks you.
“No, I’m not mad.” your shoulders fall and a moment passes , “You won’t be able to eat this stuff soon.” you say in an emotional manner. The clatter of the scissors rattle on the countertop from your hands not being able to hold them anymore. She pulls you into a tight bear hug, Her forearm around the nape of your neck as she held you close.
“Please Bella. Just, please.” you pleaded through a fat sob.
Bella herself was getting emotional. Her big sister was someone she idolized and looked up to. She was very strong in her eyes and to see her break down, made her want to break down as well.
“Everything will be okay.” Bella whispers but you step out of the hug.
“Really? That’s all you can say?”
“I will be happy. I love him, sissy. If it was the other way around, I would want you to be selfish for your own happiness too. Look, ” she says before looking down, “He didn’t want to change me. I insisted him on doing so. He then told me to marry him. We’re both doing something we don’t want to do but we’re doing it because of the love we have for each other. This wasn’t some split second decision.”
You just stare at her, “Are you sure this isn’t about when you went to Italy?”
Silence fell into the air. Bella’s hand nervously run through her hair, “It’s only part of it. I have time but I want to do it after graduation.”
“So just wait then.” you say quietly pleading.
“Alice already had a vision I would be turned.” she whines, not wanting to reconsider her chosen time frame.
“Fuck, Bella. Forever is a long time. You mean to tell me you can’t wait for that little bit of time?”
“I will be older than Edward.” she counters back. Her eyes in horror at such thought.
“You never was like this about age.” you say shaking your head. You then move to the hot oven, covering your hands to take out two hot desserts.
“Are you going to La Push?” she asks.
“Yeah. Leah is picking me up.”
“I can take you. I want to see Jake anyways.” she offers.
“I want to go alone.” you snap to her.
Hurt was displayed on her face but she understood. Leaving you alone in the kitchen as you placed the last pie in the oven to bake.
“You don’t have to chew with your mouth open. It’s disgusting.” you tell Jared, trying to fight a smile.
“Maybe you should disappear more often. If this is an apology, I will accept every time.” he says.
Paul walks past, thumping him at the back of his head before sitting next to you. This brings out a snort that you tried to hide.
“What was that for?” Jared asks, rubbing his head.
“For opening your mouth.” Paul says and drinks his drink.
Leah then comes and pull you up and away from your spot from Paul. She wraps an arm around your shoulders and ask you in an intimate matter as you both move to where people weren’t hovering around.
“Are you okay?” she asks.
“I think I will be.” you say.
“Just don’t beat yourself up over it. You still have to live your own life too.”
You nod.
“We can’t kill them because of the treaty. You know this.”
You nod again.
“Plus, what did you realistically think was going to happen once she fell in love with one. She would want to fall into their lifestyle.”
“You don’t see me asking to be a shapeshifter.” you say, looking at Leah’s beautiful face. She displays her teeth as she laughs.
“It’s not possible.”
“Yeah, but if it was, I wouldn’t ask Paul to make me into one.”
This is Leah’s turn to nod. “We can’t really say unless we're really in that type of predicament.”
Embry walks past the corner you and Leah were occupying.
“Wow, cheating on Paul? That’s rich of you.” he says jokingly as he sees you two hugging each other tight.
“Would you shut the hell up?” Leah barks at him, making you bubble out a laugh.
Leah goes to shoo him away and you stay back and lean your back against the wall. You cross your arms and think. Hoping that your little sister will be happy, you couldn’t help but think about how you would grow old and would have to look at her youthful face for the rest of your limited life. Limited. There was no point in fighting or falling out with the only sister you had just because you disapproved her lifestyle choice.
Sighing, you realized that you still love your sister deeply. With your mind made up, you decided to make the most spending time with her before her human life comes to a halt. Just like you found your family, she found hers.

a/n I'm so sorry for the hiatus. My mental health isn't where it should be, and my brain isn't in writing mode. I finally got this written down, and I left it alone for a while until I felt a bit more creative again. Hopefully, this chapter is good enough. Love you all!

June 1983 . . . again
It’s so silly to be upset about something as ridiculous as a birthday. Big deal! You’ve had plenty of those in the past.
This morning you crumpled up a piece of paper taped to your fridge into a tight enough ball that your fingers began to pierce the flesh of your hands. Then, you toss the stupid note into the trash. Your mom left again. This time she and Brad are going to his vacation house.
Brad is yet another nobody she met after her shift at the strip joint in the sketchy part of town. Rich men flock to escape unhappy marriages, and pray on the poor sad strippers. Your mom keeps having too much hope that one of these men will pay-out and he will buy her a big fancy house. Unfortunately for her, their ruse will always draw her in. She does a few lines with them, and lays on her back for less than she’s worth. How could she even bring herself to this?
Eddie does try to cheer you up when he shows up to your house for the annual birthday celebration and the lights are dim throughout the house, and you’re slumped over your sofa like a deflated balloon. Somehow he coaxes you to get off of that couch. He encourages you to get yourself dressed by handing you shirts and handing you pants until he gets a grunt of approval out of you.
After you put on your clothes, you’re practically carried out to his van. You hesitate. After your mom swore something bad would happen if you get into his van, you’ve been sneaking rides now and again. Eddie’s also been giving you lessons when she’s not around. You frown. Gripping the handle tight, and with purpose, you swing open the passenger side door.
“Yes!” Eddie pats the seat next to him. Your boldened confidence sparks joy in him. That is until you give him the meanest mug known to man. And, you don’t mean to be harsh. You actually don’t realize that Eddie’s heart sinks when you grouch like this.
Rubber hitting gravel tunes out your huffing and puffing. When you hit the pavement, the shocks thud underneath you. Eddie says he’ll fix those eventually. He can’t fix the band equipment rolling in the back though. That’s something that just happens because he’s the only one in the band with a big enough rig to store all of this junk.
“I forgot to ask if you’re hungry,” Eddie says over the gray cloud covering your head.
You thunk your head against the window. It’s nearly eleven in the morning, and you haven’t had anything to eat. You’re not hungry. But, your stomach disagrees letting out the most aggravating groan. Why do bodies do that? The moment that someone mentions food, or when the room gets quiet - your stomach growls. It’s humiliating!
“I could eat,” you hold your stomach.
The way through to you is almost always food, or a brand new book. Eddie doesn’t have the time to drive all the way to Indianapolis to get you books from The Bookshelf, which is your favorite place to receive books from (or so Eddie can guess because he hasn’t gotten you anything you hate yet). So, he instead takes you to the next best place; Benny’s Diner.
It’s a hot spot. That’s mostly because it has been almost the only spot since ‘53. Yes, you’ve heard enough of Wayne’s stories from his younger years. He and his brother, Al, spent enough time downing milkshakes and getting brain freezes there. A part of you wants to ask Eddie more about his father, and if he is truly as bad as this town says he is. Eddie pretends not to recall a lot of his youth that was spent with his father, but behind those big brown eyes he’s got stories he could tell if he wanted too.
You slide your way into a booth across from Eddie after being seated by a snooty waitress with low hanging jowls and no patience for the teenagers, who, arguably, gives Benny’s the most buisness.
Some jock from the basketball team clambers over the back of the booth like a monkey to scoop fries off an innocent girl’s plate. Rightfully so, she swats at him, then aims a bottle of ketchup at his nose.
“Hey Wheeler,” the man dubbed ‘King Steve Harrington’ cups his hands around his mouth like a bird call to get the attention of Nancy Wheeler, who is just a booth and a half away with a thick chapter book between her fingertips.
Nancy meekly looks up without saying a word.
“It’s summer time,” he snorts. “What are you reading for?”
Tommy, another bone-head, clocks Steve in the shoulder with an open palm. This seems to encourage Steve’s prepubescent behavior. And, Steve jogs over to the table to bother Nancy some more.
What more is there to say about Steve? Steve Harrington. The man had enough brain cells to form one thought, and that was usually “party at my house!” Yes, after every basketball game that the Tigers won (which is a lot of games to be fair), you could find almost every member of the student body at his house.
It seems that Steve doesn’t care that his parents are never home. You wonder what they do to live in such a cushy house that’s bigger than most of the houses combined in Hawkins. Maybe you wouldn’t mind living like this if your family was rich too.
“What can I get you?” The waitress holds her pad of paper in one hand, and a sparkling red pen in the other. She puts all of her weight on one hip, so she can tap the other foot on the tile below. Her patience is running thin, and those kids on the other side of the restaurant are really starting to make her angry.
You speed through the menu, “strawberry milkshake and fries.”
Eddie orders a burger that he asks to be left a little bloody. When she glares at him, he moves on to order a vanilla milkshake without a wince when she snatches his menu from his hands.
Usually, Eddie will order some kind of burger that he has to add extra bacon and extra onions on top of. His favorite line is usually “bloody and stinky.”
If you weren’t feeling so bummed about your birthday, you might ask him if he’s on a diet. That always revs him up to push his stomach out and to talk with his belly button. Sometimes Eddie can be so childish - and really, you find him funny.
Today you wanted to be under five feet of dirt. You could finally get some peace and quiet after all that humming and worrying that goes on in between your ears. Your mom should be worried about you - not the other way around.
Eddie watches you become the booth behind you. Someone might as well have thrown water on you, and he wouldn’t be surprised if you started sobbing ‘I’m melting!’ right about now. Not like he’s seen the Wizard of Oz or anything. It’s not important enough to ever be mentioned out loud.
“Happy birthday?” Eddie tries to cheer you up. “Look, I know it’s not a cake and some candles. I don’t know. My dad and I never celebrated my birthday, and look how I turned out.”
You try not to be mean, so you let a sarcastic comment slide off your tongue. “You have tobacco in your teeth.”
The habit Eddie promises himself to quit. It’s just cigarettes, weed and the occasional sip of beer or two (or downing half a case by himself) for him. He’s got to stay healthy if he wants to make it to fifty. That’s high balling his life span. Okay, let’s say Corroded Coffin makes the big leagues in a couple of years, and Eddie at least wants ten good years with them - thirty. Thirty years is well enough for Eddie Munson. Er- that math isn’t right. Is it?
Eddie sucks the tobacco leaves out from his teeth, while you pick at the napkin in front of you. Seeing you so down nearly tears him in two. Having an absent parent himself, he knows the disappointment that’s eating you from the inside out. For years, Eddie would wake up in hopes that his dad would just show up completely sober. If he’s really optimistic that day, then his mom would come too. They’d be a big happy family and live in the suburbs. There would even be space for uncle Wayne.
Eddie knows the fantasy is just that. But, it isn’t about him. Your head is nearly touching the table, and he’s not so sure how to fix this. There isn’t really a way to fix this, is there?
The waitress returns with two shakes that she places down in front of you. A straw emerges from her apron pocket. She leaves you.
Your milkshake is questionably pink, but the real chunks of strawberries pressing against the glass make you forget what you’re about to consume. A glass of whatever the chefs get in those prepackaged containers that come in powdery. With a little mix of some milk, you’ll hardly taste the chemicals. with chunks of strawberries pressing against the glass. A wedge of whipped cream towers atop the shake with a strawberry dipped right on top.
Something that Eddie realized recently is how bright your eyes get when you’re excited. Inflating like a balloon, you sit straight up to stick the straw into the thick shake. Your lips kiss the straw without much thought, as Eddie begins to drift away from the restaurant.
In front of him, Eddie could dive deep into why he’s chosen you as his best friend. Because at first Wayne was just babysitting the neighbor kid and you could have easily been ignored from the next day after. Eddie finds you interesting.
Your lashes flutter away from him to the space behind him. As though in slow motion, his fantasy snaps.
“Jeff!” The sugar has already rushed to your brain in the absence of food, and in a fog you hiccup, “Hi, Gareth!”
Eddie whips around in time, before the two boys get too close to the booth. Their clothes are sticking to their bodies, and a fair amount of sweat graces their foreheads. Aside from being sticky, their mood is pleasant. Jeff tucks a helmet under his arm, as he approaches in a cool step.
Gareth swipes the sweat from his brow because really the hair sticking to him makes him itch, before causing a rash due to him mindlessly scratching his forehead off. He resists the tempting sting.
Meanwhile, Gareth also refuses to admit that the reason he stopped Jeff on their bike ride into town is because you’re sitting at a booth across from Eddie. Despite knowing how close you are as friends, there’s a grumpy troll deep in his belly that’s stomping on his gut that tells him to ‘just make sure.’ He rolls his shoulders back, and begs his face to quit frowning.
“Who knew the circus was in town?” Jason Carver cups his hands around his mouth. “Freaks!”
Chrissy Cunningham whacks him across the chest for being rude. As much as she likes Jason, his attitude towards the nerdy group that they all share the same high school with does really bother her. She puts up with him because she’s already introduced him to her parents, and maybe in a few years he’ll calm down.
While Jeff, Eddie and Gareth are more or less used to the treatment they receive from the goon squad, you can’t help but notice the way Gareth shoots a glare behind himself. This goes ignored by Jason, as one of the girls at the table has a spilled her soda. Surely, Jason would have caught the venomous stare and thrown Gareth halfway across the room. You don’t go looking for that sorry of trouble.
“‘Sup!” Jeff greats Eddie and yourself. “What are you two up too?”
“It’s her birthday,” even though he does like Jeff and Gareth, Eddie wishes the boys could take a hint and scram. Jeff has other intentions and does the polar opposite by plopping down nearly on Eddie’s lap.
“Happy birthday, girl!” Jeff wishes. “Got any big plans for the day?”
You shrug, “my mom is out of town, so I don’t really have anything going on.”
“What’s she out of town for?” The boy scrunches his nose up, and Eddie elbows him in the side. A desperate attempt on his part to get Jeff to shut-the-hell-up. “Business?”
“Sort of,” if only the business your mom conducted brought more money back to the house, instead of drugs.
A tickle lifts inside your throat that you swallow down. Perhaps the glossiness in your eyes could be hidden behind your lashes, and suddenly your drink becomes a lot more interesting. Flicking the condensation on the glass, Jeff leans over to whisper to Eddie about something.
“Gareth,” Jeff turns to the boy standing awkwardly at the head of the table. He hasn’t dared sit next to you, yet. “Can you entertain the birthday girl? I gotta talk to Eddie about something out back.”
Gareth opens his mouth to protest, but the words die flat on his tongue because Jeff and Eddie have already scooted from the booths. Their “business” is a classic exchange. Gareth’s been apart of a few of these dealings. In some ways, Eddie’s a bit of a douche come pricing on his supplies.
Everyone at Hawkins has bitten into the apple per se. It’s only when they need him that Eddie’s treated decent. So, Gareth supposes Eddie has his reasons to up-charge certain clientele.
There’s no word as to why Gareth gets the treatment, but he supposes there’s a reason or two.
Someone loudly clears their throat behind Gareth. It’s the waitress from earlier holding two hot and heavy plates of food. Gareth apologizes to her rolling eyes, before sliding into the booth across from you without much thought. The waitress drops the food off, then without another word she scurries off back to the kitchen.
“Jesus,” Gareth stares at the grease pile in front of him. “What did Eddie order this time?”
“They definitely spat on that,” you question your fries. “You know Eddie.”
“Oh, yeah,” treating society like they treat him, as always.
Gareth pushes the plate to the right where the sun kisses the burger through the window. It doesn’t look any more appealing in the light than the shadows in front of him. The silence between you and he is filled with drumming that comes from Gareth tapping the table.
You offer him your fries just to get him to knock it off. It’s not annoying, but his fidgeting is making you just as anxious. The tension subsides when Gareth pops a fry into his mouth.
“Can I ask?” He swallows, before speaking.
You raise and drop your shoulders unsure you want to answer. But, Gareth takes this as permission.
“Your mom has been out of town for a while?” It slips as more of a question, but the statement is put out there. Your mom is an absent parent. The only one you have.
“She came home for a short time with-,” you don’t know why you’re still defending her. Maybe she’ll come around one day and she’ll realize how great having a child has been. Doubtfully, “her coworkers. Er- but she suddenly had to go out of town. Meetings.”
The coworkers in question are the bums that stay after hours to give her a reason to party. Lately, the parties have bled into the living room. You’re stuck holding out in your room until they sober up enough to slobber out onto the street like a pack of dogs on the loose.
Dogs behave better than them.
“Meetings,” Gareth repeats as a mutual agreement not to press anymore questions, then quickly pops another fry into this mouth. This time he misses the landing, and the fry darts off of his cheek.
It’s hard to remember when the two of you hardly got along. That Gareth had been stubborn enough to decide that you would become a distraction for Eddie and the band would suffer. It now seems that there’s a different storm brewing instead of the one before it.
You cover your mouth, but the sweet melody brushes past your lips. Gareth goes a bit pink in the face, as he covers up the glee that he has at least amused you today.
The diner has quieted by the large group of teenagers getting up, and leaving through the front door. Nancy stays at her table reading a chapter book, and is most certainly grateful they’ve all gone. She won’t admit to keeping Steve Harrington’s phone number, but she will tuck the napkin tight in her pocket.
Music plays overhead that you hadn’t heard when you first came in. It’s fifties. An appropriate theme for how old the diner looks. Bright red booths. Checkered floor. Stainless steel instead of gold metal. It’s classic.
Gareth watches your eye wander away from him, as he decides how he wants to pull your attention back in. If he didn’t know any better, Jeff and Eddie were taking a suspicious amount of time to get back. That’s not to say he’s complaining. Any time getting you away from Eddie is getting Gareth that much closer to becoming bolder about his intentions with you.
Your heart skips inside your chest when Gareth’s knee knock into yours underneath the table. In not so many words, you hear him out and you understand him. A bit of relief settles your belly, but not before another aggravated weight of tension.
Pavlov and his damn dogs! That familiar jingle of the front door has both Gareth and you scooting back in your chairs. The heat from his body fades away from you.
Eddie and Jeff return.
“I told you they wouldn’t kill each other,” Jeff snorts.
Eddie rolls his eyes.
“Actually,” Gareth stands, so Eddie could have his place in the booth again. “We should get going.”
“I got something to do later,” Jeff pats his left pocket at his hip. No one is as amused as he is by his joke, but you pity him a laugh.
Before they can leave, a hand swings out to grab Gareth by the wrist. Eddie’s got wild eyes and a goofy grin. The boy is devilish, but he’s not the devil.
“What?” Gareth raises his brow.
Eddie retracts his grasp, and instead replaces it for an open palm reaching towards Gareth. “You owe me ten.”
“Eddie,” you scold. “He didn’t even touch your burger and he only ate a bite off of my food.”
Over the last couple years, Eddie has gotten better and better at the theatrics. When your at school together, he has this little habit of standing on top of lunch tables. You’ve gotten cautious now, and you’ll move your lunch before he kicks goalie kicks it across the room. Does he practice these monologues? One will never know with him.
“Not for breakfast, sweetheart,” his tone is firm. You’ve never been ‘sweatheart’ before. Sure, you have nicknames for each other. That’s just - weird. “I saw you with Jeff the other day. Ten bucks, big boy.”
Jeff and Gareth smoke sometimes from the stash that Eddie gives Jeff. After upping the charge for Gareth, they have a method that outsmarts Eddie. Or, at least their method used to outsmart him. Despite flunking a few classes, Eddie’s quick as a whip in his street smarts. There’s no getting around him!
“Come on,” Gareth protests, but reaches around for his wallet. “You can’t share amongst your good friends?”
“There’s nothing in the rules that says you can’t,” Eddie explains, “but, when you’re explicitly smoking from him to snag a free deal - Gareth, I feel duped!”
“Eddie,” you scold with open palms face down on the table. “It’s my birthday, and you can’t torture my friends on my birthday.”
Eddie snorts in disbelief, “it’s Gareth.”
You’re stone cold. That look might just pop Eddie’s head clear off. When did you give a shit about Gareth?
There hasn’t been a time yet that you’ve expressed any concern over Gareth. Jeff - yes. There was the time that Jeff had a paper due, you went through his mistakes in red ink, so that he could make corrections. You’re really good at writing. You should be with all the time you’re stuck in those notebooks writing away, and never letting anyone take a peak. Or, when Jeff needed to learn how to bake cookies for his Home Ec final. You were there too. But Gareth? Were you ill?
Eddie’s expression softens as he releases Gareth.
“Fine,” he sighs, “I’ll let it go.”
Gareth isn’t quite sure if he should thank you in front of Jeff and Eddie. Mostly because Eddie keeps one-eyeing him over his burger. Jeff wants to ask how you learned that trick on Eddie, as he can be quite persistent when he wants something done his own. Meanwhile, you’re snacking on another fry like it was nothing.
Before Eddie wants to start any more trouble, Jeff whisks Gareth away in a flash. They’ll probably smoke together, while digging an even bigger trench that they’re in with Eddie.
You’re left to enjoy a quiet meal with your best friend. Occasionally, you beg him to chew the food in his mouth with his lips shut. You’ll give up sometime when the burger is halfway down and done with.
Eddie won’t let you pay even though he’s practically down to dimes, quarters and dollar bills. It’s your birthday, and you’re going to be treated like the golden princess you are. Anything to let Eddie see your gleaming white smile is a win to him.
You don’t have a chance to spend much time with Eddie because he’s got an unspecified “something” to do today. It’s probably the band. They’re practicing this afternoon.
With that, you hop back into the passenger seat of his van. Eddie takes the long way around to your house, so you can practice your drum solo on his dash board. Slowly, you’ve picked up on a few of Eddie’s favorite songs. One day you might out-drum Gareth, and you could join the band.
Only in Eddie’s fantasies - not that he has a lot of fantasies about you. There’s an occasional rip in his friendship with you, as he likes to put it. A fluke. You’re not a fluke. It’s all him.
Anyway, you’re landing flat foot in the dirt right in front of your abode. Eddie wouldn’t let you walk the few steps across from his trailer. It’s silly how he does that. You wave like he’s going to be leaving for a journey to a far away land, instead of driving a couple feet and parking his van in front of his trailer.
You’ve got plenty of clean-up left to do inside of your home. There’s dirty dishes piled in the sink, the counters are covered in food and you might as well sweep the floor since you’re in there. The bathroom could also use a mop. Oh, but you might as well clean the entire bathroom. Because what’s the point in mopping if the bathroom isn’t clean?
The clock on your mother’s bed stand reads close to four in the afternoon when you finally finish making her bed with freshly washed sheets. It’s taken you hours, but the home is just starting to smell less like dread and a little more like hope - and lavender. You got a deal on room spray from the bargain store in town.
Stretching your arms way above your head, you decide to celebrate with a hot shower. The water running over your aching shoulders would feel good right about now. Plus, the towels are fresh from the wash as well.
Clean.
It’s such a simple, yet rewarding feeling. You don’t get to experience it all that often.
Cigarettes have stained the walls of your home, and buried themselves deep into your carpet fibers. There’s even a few burns here and there from your mother’s habit of falling asleep with a cigarette between her fingers.
You wrap yourself in a towel and forget about that for a moment. It’s just you and a bottle of lotion across your skin.
From your bedroom window, you can see Eddie pulling into his trailer once again. Back from band practice, Eddie skips up the steps to his trailer. You stop in the moment when Gareth jumps out of the passenger side. A dark t-shirt with missing sleeves and a pair of worn down denim shorts differ from this morning’s sweats. You don’t mean to stare, but really is it that awful to look over the menu? You’re not even ordering anything.
Snorting at yourself, you close the curtain for your own privacy to change and to loosen the thoughts bleeding your innocence. You throw a shirt over your head, and suddenly hear a single knock at your front door. It’s loud like a knock anyways.
Dressing yourself decently in a comfortable pair of pajamas (you have no plans to go anywhere), you head straight to the front door to figure out what the noise could be. Maybe your mom had come back, and she drunkenly forgot her keys.
Actually, the knock is a much prettier sight. There’s a bouquet of flowers in bright rich purples. You wonder who remembered your favorite flowers are these little orchards with the white center. There’s a card poking from the center of the bundle with Eddie, Jeff and Gareth’s nearly illegible handwriting. You hate to call their new band-mate ‘Freak,’ but he has signed the card as well. It says ‘Happy Birthday,’ and you coo.
You pick the bouquet off the porch by the glass vase the flowers are displayed in. Inhaling sweet aromas of warm days reading a good book in a field, you could cry.
“Thank you!” You wave to Gareth and Eddie, who are hiding neck deep in the engine of Eddie’s van pretending not to watch your reaction. They don’t really know much about girls, but you are one and so they try to make you feel different than them. They want you to feel special.
Eddie half waves like he’s too cool to admit what he’s done, but Gareth pops his head from the van and spins around to get a good look at you.
You hardly notice Gareth’s lingering gaze, as you’ve already closed the front door of your house with you inside.
It doesn’t take long for the phone to ring.
“Hello?”
“Are you ready?” Robin’s voice comes through clear and bouncing with energy.
You snicker. “Ready for what?”
“My mom is on her way to pick you up, you’re sleeping over at mine tonight,” she says as a matter-of-fact.
“Am I?”
“Eddie called me,” she explains, “Happy birthday by the way - oh! Your mom is a bitch.”
Robin begins rambling about the times your mom has irritated her because that’s what you two do. Among all things, Robin is your sibling by terms of the longevity of your friendship. She’s the only person to get away with calling out your mom directly to you.
“Robin,” you pause her rant. “If you want me over, I need to get an overnight bag ready.”
“Oh, right,” she clears her throat. “Five minutes.”
“Five?!” You exclaim. The line goes dead.
Oh, Robin. How you love her.

I love your neteyam x goddess oneshot but can I please ask for God neteyam x offering reader where each month he gets offered a woman but he's never interested intill she's offered and there's smut involved 🙏
Offering To The Gods
God Neteyam x Offering Reader
Summary: neteyam god of predator and prey is not easily pleased by most but you all you have to do is beg
Warning: begging, tsireya is not the chiefs daughter in this, aged up characters Outfit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yn/3rd person pov
It was always seen as a blessing to be chosen for an offering for the gods but it wasn't it's was sickening to you and to some of the other girls here.
Each offering they would dress up in the littlest amount of clothing and send her into the woods and wait to receive a sigh from which ever god took her.
The village has received many gifts from the gods all except one, neteyam god of animals predators and pray he was not an easy one to please.
Each one of the girls bragged that they would be the one to be picked by him but in some cases they weren't picked at all and lift for dead in the woods.
The village was bustling in preparation for tomorrow's offering most families showing off their daughters and their 'beauty'.
"Who do you think is tomorrow offering is" my friend tsireya murmured as she stuck to my side as we weaved through the crowd.
"I really don't care I think I'm gonna skip the festival anyway" I said glancing at her we made our way to our usual spot that we always sit in when they announce the poor unfortunate soul.
Our spot was on top of a small shed close to the podium so we can see the families reaction when they know that they'll never see their daughter again.
"Its kinda sad really" I paused taking a bit of my apple "they brag about their daughter but when their chosen they think it's the end of the world".
We both laughed and watched as all the villagers crowded around the podium wanting to be first in line "look there's fra'na" tsireya laughed.
She was the bitches of them all saying how she is gonna be the only one to be chosen by neteyam and how all of us would be left for dead.
"This months offering is" the announcer paused as she drew out a name and gasped as she saw the name, the people beside her peaked and their eyes widened.
"Its the chiefs daughter" I muttered taking another bite of my apple "t-this months offering is yn" my choked on my apple coughing historically.
"What" I choked out falling off the roof as people in the crowd looked shocked everyone knew of my opinions and didn't even know if I would go.
"My daughter excepts" my mom called out making me look at her like she was a mad woman "what" I yelled.
She then grabbed and dragged me back to our family's hut praising me and telling me what needs to be done.
She pushed me into the bathroom locking the door "make sure you wash everywhere and wash your hair nicely" she shouted through the door.
I sighed heavily and got into the steaming water in the bath groaning as the water relaxed my muscles.
I leaned my head back against the tub slowly closing my eyes but when I did flashes of neteyam ran through my mind but they weren't of his statutes or stories.
He was shirtless and breathing heavily his hands running all over his body his face covered in a light blush.
"Yn" he groaned I jerked out of the daze as he eyes met mine, my chest heaving I shook my head angrily I can't let this get to me.
I started scrubbing my skin and washing my hair, only getting out the water when it was about to turn cold.
I dried my skin and put my hair up into a bun before putting my clothes on "are you done in there sweetheart" my mom called "yes mom I'm done" I huffed.
She opened the door to expose her and 4 of her friends holding different bowls and other weird things "no" I muttered shaking my head.
But she ignored my protests and dragged me to a chair and her and her friends got right to work on 'pretting' me up.
One of her friend applied a face mask, another one did my hair brushing it intently and two of them painted symbols to my skin.
"This is what you are wearing" my mom smiled but my jaw immediately dropped "no ways in hell am I wearing that it's not even clothes" I shouted out.
She gave me a death glare "you are and that's final" she muttered.
"This is what most girls wear" one of her friends pointed out "hey do you remember eir'a she wasn't wearing anything" another laughed.
They continued to tell stories till sunset and hesitantly said giving me one last look before they left.
Mom smiled widely giving me the creeps "I still don’t see how they still allow this stupid tradition" I muttered walking up to my room and shutting the door with annoyance.
I flung myself onto the bed and stared up at my ceiling 'tomorrow is gonna be torture' my village was one of the small few that still participated in the tradition.
And didn't take any of it lightly, tomorrow I will be offered at dawn and I can't see anyone outside my immediate family not even tsireya.
But as I started to drift off to sleep I was thinking up a plan to escape.
-Next day-
I woke up early and started putting my plan into action, I put on the excuse of clothing and put my hair into a bun hiding a small carving knife inside.
"Once I get inside I'll carve a spear and pray like he'll i can make it out the other side" I explained to myself making sure that the knife is not visible.
"Ok my sweet time to go" she smiled and led me out the house to the edge of the village "please tell me your not planning anything" she asked as we neared her family.
"Nope nothing" I lied smiling and giving my family a small wave "aw you grow up so fast" my aunt cries giving both my cheeks a kiss.
My uncle pulled me into a hug "remember what I taught you" he whispered and that was it for the goodbyes.
"Remember me will you" mom murmured as she squished my cheeks together "sure I will mom" I gave her a half smile and turned to the forest.
I took a deep breath giving one final glance to my family before walking into the jungle, this part everyone said it's a game for the gods.
Kind of like whoever hunts her down first gets to keep her but the offering also has to survive the predators of the jungle.
As soon as I was beyond view I took the carving knife out and started making a spear to protect myself before I go further into the jungle.
I grasped the spear tightly and carefully started to move in no one has ever returned to the village people just know some die because of their screams.
"I can do this" I muttered and started sprinting I had to get to the other side before nightfall or at least find a spot for a camp.
The forest was quiet no other sounds other then the floor crunching under my feet as I ran I kept my breathing slow so I didn't run out of breathe so quickly.
Keeping my gaze ahead "look at her" I fell panicking as I looked around my surroundings where was that coming from.
"They always do that" the voice laughed, I just shook off the shock and took off running again "they never do that though".
The voices seemed to follow wherever I go and I try to not look back 'it's probably a trick' it was soon becoming dark and there was no place to make camp.
'A tree will have to do' I sighed coming to the nearest tree slipping the spear through the skirt gaps so i won't lose it making sure it was secure.
Started climbing up "look she's a monkey" "will you shut up" I shouted climbing higher and higher in till I was 30 meters up.
Shifting on the branch to find a comfy spot "make sure you don't fall" the voice called out from down below making me roll my eyes.
My kept shifting uncomfortably the jewels making it impossible to sleep "maybe I should continue running" I whispered and slowly made sure I didn't make a noise as I climbed down.
"I'm surprised you made it this far" I screamed jerking towards the voice my eyes widening at the sight of neteyam.
I tried to speak but all that I could get out where squeaks "your actually the only one that gets this far all the others just sit by the river and gaze at their completion" he chuckled.
"And your the only one to make a weapon" he gestured to the spear on my back I looked to the side do I really want this or make a run for it.
"There is no end to the jungle" he said stepping closer and with each step closer I took one back till I was pressed up against the tree.
"I'm not gonna hurt you yn" he whispered staring deeply to my eyes "h-how do you know my name" I stuttered out making him laugh and shake his head.
"I'll explain it all to you if you take my hand" he murmured putting out his hand for me to take, I bit my looking looking between him and his hand and hesitately took it closing my eyes.
I felt the wind blow around me and like a zap it disappeared "you can open your eyes now" he chuckled, I slowly opened my eyes which flattered to adjust to the light.
I gasped we weren't in the forest anymore but a gold palace filled with different animals "wow" I stood in aww watching as different parrots flew from the ceiling out the window.
"This is my home, now come we have much to discuss" he beamed and gently started to lead me through the palace.
"This is our bedroom" he smiled pushing open the double doors I paused as he walked inside making him let go of my hand which made him turn to me.
"Our bedroom" I asked he gestured for me to follow him but I just shook my head looking down at the floor.
"I know that you hate this tradition but I'm not gonna try anything I hardly sleep in this room anyways" he murmured taking ahold of my hand again.
"Now please let me explain this to you" he said and when I slowly nodded he took me inside the room it was like a jungle inside it looks like we were teleported back.
There was trees that had cabinets carved out and the bed was hanging from the ceiling over a small circlure pond.
"Here we go" he smiled leading me over to a small table and chairs "now can you please explain" I said sitting down and watching him as he sat opposite me.
"You believe in soulmates right" he questioned "to some extent yes" "well the reason for a god chosing an offering because she is his soulmate".
I did not believe that for one second, I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms "yn the reason I said our room is because you've been here before" he muttered.
My throat felt dry after he said that "what" I choked "yn the only reasons god pick their offerings is because it's their soulmate reincarnated".
My mind started to fill with thoughts "every time your offered you always hide a carving knife and plan to escape the other side" he said getting up from his chair coming to stand infront of me.
"You always hate this tradition and your always friends with tsireya" he whispered kneeling infront of me "d-does that means she's a gods soulmate to" I ask.
He noded "my brothers" he gently grabbed both of my hands "no matter how many times you come back to me I always find a new way to love you".
My heart flattered at his words and my heart started to feel a longing for his "can we please take this slow and steady" I murmured He nodded eagerly "I'll wait an enternity".
-A month later-
I started to become more comfortable around him and slowly started to let him sleep in the bed with me he was patient every step of the way.
"Good morning my love" he rasped as he pecked my cheek as he cuddled into me further I was wide awake biting my lip.
I wanted him I don't know why I felt like this but I needed him "what's wrong" he asked and carefully turned me towards him my eyes glancing between his and his lips.
"I-I wanna kiss you" I admitted "I wanna- no I want you" I blurted out making him groan out but not in annoyance it sounded like pleasure.
He chuckled "then all you have to do is beg" he murmured making a deep blush settle on my cheeks "w-what" I stuttered he took my chin into his two fingers and brought my face closer to his.
"Beg" he muttered my eyes flattered "I u-um please can you take me" I whispered "louder I can't hear you" he teased "fuck please just I need you" I pleaded.
"Then you can take me baby" he growled and brought his hand to caress my cheek and pull me into a kiss.
His tongue ran over my bottom lip before making it way inside my mouth twisting around mine my moans were muffled by his lips as he slowly moved me on top of him.
"Wait wait" he pulled back and stared at me intently "are you ready" he asked "y-yes" I whispered nervously "I need you to be 100% yn no 59 70 I need you 100%" he muttered.
I smiled down at him he's so caring I brushed his cheek with my hand "I'm a 100% neteyam" I murmured and gasped as he switched our position so he was on top.
"I was hoping you said that" he growled before attaching his lips to my neck sucking harshly surely leaving a mark.
I whined as his hands tore off my clothes and his leaving us bare he pulled back his eyes slowly dragging down my body.
"You never disappoint" he growls out moving his lips to my breasts "f-fuck neteyam" I moaned I looked down past his head and gaped at his cock as it twitched and sparkled with precum.
"Please just fuck me neteyam" I begged his eyes snapped to mine as he pulled back "whatever my goddess needs" he grins and he positioned himself infront of my entrance.
Kissing me as he slowly pushed in, I groaned at the pain but he quietly shushed me and praised me making my heart flatter.
After I adjusted he slowly started to move and watched my reactions very carefully to make sure he didn't hurt me.
My moans of pain started to turn into one's of pleasure and his thrusts start to slowly increase in pace.
"Y-your so tight" neteyam growled out his cock filled every inch of me, he slowly let one of his hands slip down between us to rub my clit matching the pace of his thrusts.
"Fu-fuck" I cried out in pleasure as I felt myself close to cumming, neteyam growled as I clenched around him his cock starting to twitch inside me.
"I'm gonna fill you with my cum" he growled into my ear making my eyes roll, all the pleasure he was giving me was becoming overwhelming "c-cumming" I screamed out as I shuddered in pleasure.
"Yn" he groaned his thrusts started to fulter as he cam, we both panted and whined as we started coming down from our high.
"We are differently doing that again"

𝒯𝓌𝒾𝓃 𝓈𝒾𝓏ℯ 𝓂𝒶𝓉𝓇ℯ𝓈𝓈
I have seen so much edits of Luke with this song. I had to, this song was my national anthem in 2020! This one’s after this TikTok.
Warnings- Reader is child of Poseidon, established relationship, betrayal, all angst here bby

Tumblr media
i. “It’s no big surprise you turned out this way,”
Luke hated the Gods. It wasn’t a secret to you. You knew it as you laid down in the bed with him, his body curled up to yours as he sobbed. His dad hadn’t answered his prayers again. It’s been years.
You held him, running a hand through his hair as you tried to comfort him to the best of your abilities.
You knew it when he was 17, coming back from the quest with a raised mark on his cheek. His eyes met yours in the crowd, and you ran up to him, wrapping your arms around his neck. He didn’t have a smile on his face as he usually did when he saw you. He just gave you a small hug back.
When he had told you about the quest, how he had failed it, how he hated his father because of it. He cried in your arms that night, repeating how he hated them again and again.
ii. When they closed their eyes and prayed you would change.
You had been picked by Percy to join his quest. You were his sister. You were one of the strongest people at camp, he trusted you.
When Luke heard your name be called by Percy, he faltered. You knew how he felt about quests.
Before you left, he came to the cabin. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and giving him a kiss.
“I’ll miss you.” He mumbled, a hand on the small of your back.
“I’ll miss you too.”
“Be careful, okay?” He said, his eyes glossy.
“I will. I’ll come back and then we can spend the rest of the semester together.” You said with a small smile, giving him one more kiss.
If only you knew then what his plans were. He smiled back, it was a sad smile. He wouldn’t be spending the semester with you and he knew it.
He handed you a gift, a necklace. A necklace with a little sword on it.
You smiled at him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“I love you.”
And when you heard about the plan to go to Hermes, you didn’t know if you could do it.
You saw him, for the first time in years you saw him. He looked at you first, his eyes widening in shock as he recognized you.
You looked at him, with a look that he knew all too well. And when you sat down with him he said a “hey, kid.” The first words he’s spoken to you in years, since you’ve last seen him when you were a child.
“Don’t call me that.” You snapped back, Percy was confused at your anger. He knew about Luke and Hermes but he didn’t know that you were with Luke through everything, even when he was a kid.
Annabeth interrupted what he was gonna say to you, thankfully. And business was done once you got the car.
Before you all went to get up, he grabbed your wrist.
“What?”
“I’m sorry. Can you… tell him I’m sorry? I just.. I-“
You grabbed your wrist away from him, face flashing with disgust.
“You can tell him yourself.” That was the last thing you said before walking away.
iii. And they cut your hair and sent you away. You stopped by my house the night you escaped.
He was 9 years old when he knocked on your door, it was night. Almost midnight. Your mom was sleeping. You got up and walked to the door, rubbing your eyes. Your unicorn pajamas were too big for your small figure, that you almost tripped on the ends.
“Luke?” You mumbled when you opened the door, his eyes were red and wide with fear.
“What’s wrong?” You asked with a frown.
“My- my mom, she- she-“ he said, stuttering and stumbling over his words.
You invited him in, knowing your mom wouldn’t like it but doing it anyways, and he followed you into the kitchen as you jumped onto the counter and got him a glass of water, handing it to him.
He sat on the floor, his hands shaking as you sat next to him now.
“What happened?” You asked him once he had taken a sip.
“She- she had another fit. She got crazy and woke me up, she started yelling and screaming at me, I don’t think it was meant for me though.” He said, still sobbing. His tears hit the floor, and you felt bad for the boy.
Now you had just gotten back from the quest. It was successful, and just like he had then, when he was a little boy, he stopped by at your house before he left.
iv With tears in my eyes, I begged you to stay.
“Y/n?” He mumbled, his face dropped as you came out from behind the trees. He dropped his sword now, Percy still at his feet.
“Luke, what the hell are you doing?” You asked him, drawing your own sword.
The fireworks behind you illuminated your face in the night sky. Even when you were angry at him, you were the most beautiful person he’s ever seen, Aphrodite couldn’t compete with you in his mind.
“You have to understand-“
“Understand what? That you wanna leave the camp for fucking Kronos?” You shouted, your yell scaring away the nearby birds.
“I don’t wanna hurt anyone. Please just- come with me-“
“Luke, don’t do this.” You started to cry, the tears ran down your face like a waterfall. “We could have stayed here. We could have been happy.”
“We still can be happy. Kronos will give us a better life, I swear-“ he walked closer to you, his sword forgotten on the ground.
You shook your head at him, sobbing. Tears welled in his own eyes as he saw your face, full of betrayal and hurt.
“Please. Just stay here.”
V. You said hey man I love you, but no fucking way.
“I can’t. You know I can’t.” He mumbled. He was now right in front of you. You raised your sword, the necklace he gave you dangling on your neck.
“I love you. But I can’t.” He said, turning to the portal. He grabbed his sword, running away into the portal, giving you one last glance.
Your lip quivered as your knees buckled, Percy looks at you, swallowing the lump in his throat. He went closer to you, helping you stand up. Annabeth revealed herself too, and you all walked to camp in silence, your eyes red with tears and exhaustion.

𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓
𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟
As the chariot soared through the sky, off to who-knows-where with a potentially homicidal blonde girl and an overly buff guy who looked like he could easily throw Y/n off the chariot if he was so inclined, she decided she liked flying with Jason better.
But, as quickly as that thought came up, she pushed it away. How could she even think about liking flying with Jason? She didn’t know him. She knew she hated him, but she didn’t know him.
Standing beside her, he gazed out at the horizon, his troubled expression mirroring her own confusion. She took a moment to study his face while he was distracted, absorbing the familiar features she couldn't recall encountering before waking up on the bus. It was a frustrating sensation, feeling so certain of knowing him yet unable to find any trace of him in her memories.
Or rather, not having any memories to search through in the first place.
He was handsome, but Y/n had known that from the moment she first saw him that afternoon, holding her hand as she slept on the bus. A few strands of his blond hair grazed his forehead, suggesting it had been a while since his last haircut, though she couldn't pinpoint why she thought so. His eyes resembled the clear blue sky on a sunny day, a stark contrast to the gray clouds they were currently navigating through. Her gaze caught a small scar on his upper lip, prompting her to wonder if he had ever shared the story behind it, if such knowledge remained locked away within the rest of her memories.
Jason pulled his eyes away from the horizon, meeting her gaze. His lips tilted downward in a small, nervous frown, and she couldn't really point why that felt so...  hurtful, to say the least.
"This is so cool!" Leo yelled. He spit a Pegasus feather out of his mouth, sputtering for a moment. "Where are we going?"
"A safe place," Annabeth answered. She'd been quiet since they took off, and there was something sad in her eyes as they looked out at the horizon. "The only safe place for kids like us. Camp Half-Blood."
"Half-blood?" Piper crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes hard as she scowled at Annabeth. "Is that some kind of bad joke?"
"She means we're demigods," Jason said. "Half god, half mortal."
Annabeth glanced back at him. "You seem to know a lot, Jason," she said, her tone suspicious. "But yes, demigods. My mom is Athena, goddess of wisdom. Butch here is the son of Iris, the rainbow goddess."
Leo choked on a laugh he tried to suppress. "Your mom is a rainbow goddess?"
"Got a problem with that?" Butch said.
"No, no," Leo said. "Rainbows. Very macho."
"Butch is our best equestrian," Annabeth told them. "He gets along great with the pegasi."
"Rainbows, ponies," Leo muttered. Y/n couldn’t hold back the laugh that threatened to escape with each of Leo’s remarks.
"I'm going to toss you off this chariot," Butch warned.
"Demigods," Piper said. "You mean you think you're... you think we're—"
Lightning flashed through the sky. The chariot shuddered and Jason yelled, "Left wheel's on fire!"
Y/n looked over and sure enough, it was burning, white flames beginning to lick up the side of the chariot. The wind roared around them with a vengeance. She glanced behind them and saw dark shapes forming in the clouds - more venti spiraling toward the chariot, though these looked more like horses than angels.
She started praying, or at least what she thought was a prayer, to any god that would care to hear her. She really didn’t want to die that way.
Piper started to say, "Why are they-?"
"Anemoi come in different shapes," Annabeth explained. "Sometimes human, sometimes stallions, depending on how chaotic they are. Hold on. This is going to get rough."
Going to get?!, Y/n thought. It already is!
Butch flicked the reins. The pegasi sped forward and the chariot blurred. Y/n held Jason's hand in a vise grip, her vision going black for a moment. When it went back to normal, they were somewhere entirely new.
An ocean stretched out to their left. Snow-covered fields, roads, and forests spread out on the right.
Directly below them was a green valley, like a lonely island of spring surrounded by snowy hills on three sides and water to the north. She saw a cluster of buildings that didn't look like they belonged in the twenty-first century, ball courts, a lake, and a climbing wall that looked like it was on fire.
Then the chariot's wheels came off, and they dropped out of the sky.
“Oh, shit. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit.” Y/n let out the curses, still holding tightly to Jason’s hand. She felt like he was the only person close enough that she wouldn’t have to walk to reach out.
Annabeth and Butch tried to maintain control, but the pegasi seemed exhausted, and bearing the weight of the chariot and six people was clearly too much for them.
"The lake!" Annabeth yelled. "Aim for the lake!"
They plummeted like a torpedo into the water.
The lake was freezing. She'd already been shivering on the chariot, what with the wind and the high altitude and her damp clothes from the rain at the Grand Canyon, but now she was submerged in freezing cold water to boot.
After falling into the Grand Canyon and fighting off evil wind spirits, she was going to die of hypothermia. Or drowned. Probably drowned.
How nice.
But suddenly, the whole freezing part was over. She couldn’t feel the freezing water, just... nothing. She looked at her front and saw a figure. She could swear she heard the thing telling her to breathe, but she was probably just hallucinating. Luckily.
She broke into the surface soon, trying to float. She discovered that there was something in her eyes, and she couldn’t open them to discover where the shore was. Suddenly, she felt hands under her arms, and someone pulled her. She didn’t know who it was, but considering the muscles on the person’s arms, she figured it’d be Butch.
Y/n and the person got to the shore, and she let out a long, contented sigh. Piper and Leo ran over to her with a towel, which she used to take the thing off her eyes, and Y/n realized Jason was the one who'd pulled her back to the surface. It was the second time he'd saved her life that day.
Jesus, he's like a blond Superman.
Life's a bitch.
Once she was pretty sure she'd taken the thing off her eye, she forced herself to straighten.
"Are you okay?" Piper asked, her voice high-pitched and terrified. But before Y/n could answer, Annabeth spoke up, her face dark and curious at the same time.
“You’re dry.”
Y/n grimaced. “I’m- wait, what?” she asked, and looked down at her body. Outside her damp clothes, her hair and skin were completely dry. “Oh, my fucking god, what the hell?” She asked, her own voice high-pitched and desperate.
“How’s that even possible? You’re not that warm.” Leo muttered.
“That... that just happened before with, uh... one person.” Annabeth said, rubbing the back of her neck nervously. The girl was wringing her wet hair out, studying y/n with a furrowed brow. "If you and Percy have this in common, then... no, it can’t be." She said, her tone uncertain, but there was a lingering suspicion in it.
"Great," y/n grumbled. "I love being the exception."
A detail of campers ran up with big, bronze-colored leaf blowers and blasted the soaking wet demigods with hot air. In a few seconds, y/n was dry and far warmer than she had been just a few moments ago.
Thank fuck.
A blond-haired guy (what is it with y/n and blond dudes?) with a bow and quiver strapped to his back pushed through the crowd of orange-shirted people, pulling a small bottle of some kind of amber liquid out of a fanny pack. He handed it to y/n, who just stared at it questioningly until he explained,
"Nectar. It'll make sure your lungs are clear and prevent dry drowning. Drink."
y/n didn't know how she felt taking orders from someone who looked younger than her, but when Annabeth nodded along to his explanation, she decided to trust the blonde girl. As scary as she was, she had helped Jason save her from drowning.
y/n downed the mini-bottle, but she didn’t feel any different than she already was.
The young blond guy turned to Annabeth. "And you! I said you could borrow the chariot, not destroy it!"
"Will, I'm sorry," Annabeth sighed. "I'll get it fixed, I promise."
Will scowled at the remains of his broken chariot.
Then he sized up y/n, Jason, Piper, and Leo.
"These are the ones? Way older than thirteen. Why haven't they been claimed already?"
"Claimed?" Leo questioned.
Before Annabeth could explain, Will asked, "Any sign of Percy?"
"No," Annabeth admitted.
The campers around them muttered. Whoever Percy was, his disappearance seemed to be a big deal.
Another girl stepped forward. She glanced at the four newcomers, her eyes moving over Leo and y/n with a bored expression before she fixed her eyes on Jason like he might be worthy of her attention. The girl then glanced at Piper, her lip curling in a vague look of disgust. "Well," she said, "I hope they were worth the trouble."
y/n scowled at her, taking offense. She had a gut feeling that this girl would be nothing more than a pain in the ass.
Leo snorted. "Gee, thanks. What are we, your new pets?"
"No kidding," Jason said. "How about some answers before you start judging us - like, what is this place, why are we here, how long do we have to stay?"
“Why did your lake people just talked to me?” y/n tacked on silently.
"Jason," Annabeth said, her tone placating, "I promise we'll answer your questions. And Drew," - she frowned at the rude girl -"all demigods are worth saving. But I'll admit, the trip didn't accomplish what I hoped."
"Hey," Piper said, "we didn't ask to be brought here."
Drew sniffed. "And nobody wants you, hon. Does your hair always look like a dead badger?"
y/n and Piper moved at the same time. Jason reached for y/n’s hand again, a pleading look in his eyes as if he was saying please don't. She rolled her eyes and pulled her hand from his, but didn’t really move. Annabeth stopped Piper, who y/n was pretty sure only backed down because of how intimidating Annabeth looked at the moment.
Or at any moment, really.
"We need to make our new arrivals feel welcome," Annabeth said, shooting Drew another pointed look. "We'll assign them each a guide, give them a tour of camp. Hopefully by the campfire tonight, they'll be claimed."
"Would somebody tell me what claimed means?" Piper asked.
There was a collective gasp. The campers backed away, a faint orange glow encompassing the crowd. y/n frowned, following everyone's gazes to Leo. Floating above his head was a blazing holographic image - a hammer engulfed in flames.
"That," Annabeth said, "is claiming."
“Holy shit...” y/n and Jason muttered at the same time, quickly exchanging an annoyed look.
Leo reacted as if his hair was on fire, swatting at the air in panic.
"This can't be good," Butch muttered. "The curse-"
"Butch, shut up," Annabeth said. "Leo, you've just been claimed-"
"By a god," Jason interrupted. "That's the symbol of Vulcan, isn't it?"
Everyone's eyes turned to him.
"Jason," Annabeth said carefully, "how did you know that?"
"I'm not sure," Jason admitted.
"Vulcan?" Leo demanded. "I don't even like Star Trek! What are you talking about?"
"Vulcan is the Roman name for Hephaestus," Annabeth said, "the god of blacksmiths and fire."
The image above Leo's head faded, but he kept swatting the air as if it might still be following him.
"The god of what? Who?"
Annabeth turned to Will. "Would you take Leo, give him a tour? Introduce him to his bunk-mates in Cabin Nine."
He nodded. "Sure, Annabeth."
Will led Leo away and Annabeth turned her attention back to Jason and y/n. She studied the two of them like there were two variables in a complicated math problem. Finally, she said, "Jason, hold out your arm."
y/n frowned; she wasn’t quite sure what Annabeth was looking at. She followed the blonde's gaze to his forearm. He'd taken his windbreaker off, leaving his arms exposed, and on the inside of his right forearm was a tattoo. The letters SPQR were etched into his skin, with a dark silhouette of an eagle above it and a dozen straight lines below it.
"Do you have one, too?" Annabeth asked, looking at y/n.
y/n rolled up the sleeve of her - Jason's – sweatshirt (she still had to take it off, but she was way too comfy to do so), exposing her right arm. Just like Jason, she had a tattoo on the inside of her forearm, though hers looked a bit different.
Unlike Jason, she didn't have an eagle above the SPQR on her skin - instead, she had two symbols, one beside the other. It had a trident, in a style that she was sure she didn’t do the tattoo willingly. Kinda entangled with it, there was a lyre. Under the SPQR, there were ten lines, just a few less than Jason.
y/n brushed her fingertips over the tattoo. She couldn't remember getting it, but she had the faint feeling it had hurt, and she had a suspicion it wasn't made with ink.
"I've never seen marks like these," Annabeth said. "Where did you two get them?"
Jason shook his head. "I'm getting really tired of saying this, but I don't know."
When Annabeth looked at y/n, she shrugged. "Nah, no clue."
"They look burned into your skin," Annabeth noticed.
"They were," y/n said, wincing as she tried to recall a specific memory. It made her head hurt even more than it already did. "I... I think they were, anyway. I can't remember."
Everyone looked to Annabeth. It was clear she was something of a leader in the camp, and they were all waiting to hear her verdict. "You two need to go straight to Chiron," Annabeth decided. "Drew, would you—"
"Absolutely." Drew sauntered forward, lacing her arm through Jason's. y/n scowled at the sight, her scowl deepening when Drew pulled him away, resulting in his warmth being pulled away from hers.
Not that she minded. y/n was hoping for Drew to get him far, far away from her.
"This way, sweetie. I'll-"
"y/n needs to see him, too, Drew," Annabeth reminded her, giving y/n a look that she suspected was a silent apology for Drew's behavior.
Drew rolled her eyes, but didn't object as y/n joined her and Jason. She kept talking as if y/n wasn't even there. "I'll introduce you to our director. He's... an interesting guy."
They walked toward the big blue mansion y/n had seen just before their chariot plummeted into the lake.
A heavy sense of dread filled y/n’s stomach as they made it to the house. If the way Jason tensed at the sight of the house was any indication, he shared her anxiety.
She was suddenly struck by how grateful she was that she wasn't the only person who seemed to have lost her mind along with her memories. Sure, it wasn’t the greatest thing in the world to only remember the person who she seemed to hate the most, but it was still better than having absolutely no one. She wondered if that was the only thing linking the two of them together.
His name was the only concrete memory she'd woken with. That had to mean something, right?
"Here we are!" Drew said cheerfully. "The Big House, camp headquarters."
The Big House didn't look threatening, not at first glance, but that didn't stop y/n from feeling like she was on the border of enemy territory. She touched the small lump in her pocket, feeling the key.
At least she wasn't defenseless.
"We are not supposed to be here," Jason said, voicing y/n’s exact feelings. The girl looked at him with a questioning look. Perhaps, besides being extremely handsome and skilled with a sword, he was also a mind reader.
Is always an option, right?
Drew circled her arm through his. "Oh, please. You're perfect here, sweetie. Believe me, I've seen a lot of heroes." She glanced at y/n like she was a wad of gum stuck to the bottom of her shoe. "You, I'm not so sure about."
y/n touched the key in her pocket and almost flipped her off. "Wanna test that theory?" she said. "I have a sword with your name on it, princess."
"So testy," Drew said, rolling her eyes. "What, are you two together or something?"
Jason and y/n’s eyes met, neither of them quite sure how to answer. Before either of them could say anything, though, the sound of footsteps sounded from the front porch.
No, not footsteps - it sounded like hooves.
"Chiron!" Drew called. "This is Jason. He's totally awesome." She side-eyed y/n. "And y/n."
y/n made a face at Drew and rolled her eyes.
Jason backed up so fast he almost tripped, his arm reaching out to pull y/n back with him as if to pull her away from danger. She looked down at Jason’s muscular arm around her torso and pulled away from him, the nagging feeling that they hated each other poking the depths of her mind. The girl watched as a man on horseback rounded the corner of the porch.
No, he wasn't on horseback - his lower half was a horse.
It's official, I've lost what was left of my sanity.
Chiron started to smile at y/n and Jason, but the color drained from his face as he looked at Jason.
"You..." The centaur's eyes flared like a cornered animal's. "You should be dead."

• He'd definitely pray to God that he got a girlfriend/boyfriend/Significant Other as youself.
"Oh heavens, I pray to thy self..."
You raised a brow at his kneeling figure, having head bowed to the ground, "Izuku, what're you doing?"
"Praying to whatever deity is out there who have blessed me"
"With what?" "You"
• He won't believe that he'd get a gorgeous/handsome/amazing partner like you. Even though, he knew you'd retaliate saying otherwise.
"Like, how did I get so lucky to have you? Maybe having a bad past was worth it after all"
You chuckled nervously feeling the stares around you due to his continuous rambles, "Izuku, sometimes your mentality makes me question myself"
• He'd everything in his power to make you happy such as weekly dates, late night calls and even skipping his plans if you'd ask him to.
"Izuku, are you sure you don't have any plans?"
He replied back sweetly as if he didn't had his one hand covering Denki's mouth to stop him from making fake kissing noises, "It's no worries, N/N. I didn't have anything to do all day"
• If you're in the same high school as him, he'll immediately introduce you to his friends and even invite in their sleepovers, parties or just in general.
"Hey guys, this is my partner Y/N L/N"
"Wow, you look so cute!"
"It is my pleasure to meet the significant other of our fellow friend"
"Hi"
• He'd tell you about his past after he got to know you a lot better. And I mean very very well. It's a very sensitive topic afterall.
"Izuku, are you sure you want to tell me about this now?"
He raised an eyebrow at your worried look, "Do you want to talk about yours?"
"No... I don't think it's the right time"
He shrugged and held you closer while continuing, "So, you know these guys, they made me..."
• He'd do his best to cheer you up when you're feeling down. He'd also immediately know when you are sad, depressed or in a bad mood.
"Hey, are you okay? Do you want to talk about it? Who made you sad? I just need a name. I think I have F/I and F/B in the mini fridge. Do you want them?"
He quiet down feeling your body slump on his. He held you close feeling your murmur, "I need peace and quiet"
He hugged back gently before laying on his bed comfortably, "Okay"
• Even though you warn him about not being self sacrificing, he exactly does that.
"H/N, I told you to not be so reckless everyday!"
"But N/N, this is the only way to improve myself to be the hero I aim to be"
"Izuku, getting admitted in the hospital three times a week is not in the quota of being a hero!"
• If someone both of you may or may not know implies to leave the other, you'd get defensive to prevent the other for being self conscious.
"Hey, cutie~ How about you and me ditch your plain boyfriend and spend quality time together"
The person began sweating feeling the invisible daggers digging in the body from your stare, "You got a lot of nerve to insult my boyfriend right in front of me. If you want your body intact, I suggest you leave right this second"
"Hey, handsome~ What do you even see in that B/S person, anyway? I bet I can make you feel much better"
She got a nasty glare with deep voice oozing in hatred, "One, get your chest away from me. Two, I dare insult my partner one more time and you won't have any less than 5 bones to be mend after I'm done with your B.S."
The girl flinched back before scurrying away without a glance.
• If he's sure, you're his one and only, he'd introduce you to his mother after the 3rd date.
"Mom! Look who I brought!"
"Sweety, is that you?!"
"Yes, Aunty Inko"
• He'd propose to you after 3 years of becoming officially together, which is 1 year after debuting as a Pro Hero. He's sure in his life that there is no one else for him other than the love of his life.
"Y/N L/N, will you make me the happiest hero in the world by being my Mrs. Midoriya?"
You stood speechless staring at his sheepish expression while he held a small box having the most beautiful emarald ring in it.
Your eyes watered and you nodded not finding any words in your brain right now, just the grin on his face and him putting the ring on your figure.
Ignoring the clapping sounds echoing around you, you knelt down and hugged him tightly while sobbing quietly.
He hugged back just as tightly while murmuring soft words of how gorgeous you look right now. He definitely knew he made the right decision by choosing for a life together with you.

1610! m. morales x black! masc! reader
a/n: happy birthday to my favorite spiderman :3 this is a letter fanfic too, where the reader is writing a letter to miles for his birthday, and for the song it’s nothing too important just I think this is the song that reader would listen too and think about miles
“ mijo!” came the call of miles’ mother, it was early, and miles wasn’t even up yet, the boy let out a grown before he got up on his own, and shuffled around as he yelled back out to his mom that he was coming
the boy rubbed the tiredness from his eyes and let out a soft sigh, before he made his way from his room to the kitchen where his parents were going through the mail, his mother had a letter in her hand, and her eyebrows were furrowed
miles walked over to stand by his mother, he knew by now that he had to wait until his mother was done reading something before he spoke to her, his eyes blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the light. he had left his phone in his room on the charger so the only thing he had to do was focus on the things around him, his eyes looking down at the open envelope that was on the counter.
his eyes saw the
MILES MORALES
in bold black ink, but he didn’t process it until he had looked someplace else, his neck snapping down to look at the open envelope once again, his eyes were wide, his brain overworking itself trying to figure out who would send him a letter, an obviously handwritten one at that.
his eyes shot back to his mother’s face, and she had the letter in one hand, the other hand was on her hip, and her face was scrunched up in an obvious negative way, but miles couldn’t quite read the emotion
his mami used that face for damn near every negative emotion at this point, how could he tell?
“ what’s this, miles ? you got some secret girlfriend your father and i don’t know about..?” her voice was a mixture of anger and hurt, she wasn’t angry at miles.. she just didn’t know how to carefully pick her tone. she was mostly confused, confused and hurt that her son hadn’t told her any of this
“ what?” his tone was just as confused as rio thought she was making hers.
that’s when rio’s eyebrows furrowed and her grip on the paper tightened as she held it in front of him, letting her son read the letter she had found mailed to him
DEAR MILES MORALES…
happy birthday to my favorite person on earth, im sad I can’t be with you in this time.. because i am traveling now, but i just want you to know I am deeply grateful that I get to see you everyday im in brooklyn. i am grateful you return the love I have for you in your own little way just like I do.
which brings me to your gift!!
TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT YOU!
1. i love how you draw those you care about, especially those who you no longer see. ( ex: gwen, uncle aaron, i think i saw that guy who was like our spiderman but not??) and you have drawn me more times than I have the memory space to remember, but I love that about you nonetheless.
2. the way I first saw you, when you were new to visions and you were talking to all those stupid stuck up kids, of course you didn’t know they were like that.. you were new and everything. but seeing you try to talk to them and make dumb jokes kinda showed how you were trying to make friends in a different environment & how outgoing you are and I love that
3. i adore your stupid jokes, your jokes are not only funny by themselves but they are so silly, mostly because you don’t mind yourself getting laughed at because of how awkward you come across, I love it.
4. i love when you speak, your voice is so natural and every time I see you I pray it’s never gonna something sad ( doesn’t mean I’m never here for you if it is!) but I absolutely do love your voice, everything you have to say makes my heart race
5. your smile, it makes my heart race whenever I see it. whether that he when we’re together, or pictures i see. miles I adore it to the moon and back.
6. i love how you don’t give into toxic masculinity like a lot of guys our age, i love seeing it because you don’t see it a lot in black guys, and it makes me feel like I can just be myself around you and around others you give me that confidence to be comfortable in my own masculinity
7. i love how you’re super sweet to be others, even strangers. you’re the nicest boy I have ever met in the entirety of my days on earth, mrs. morales & officer davis raised you marvelously, and I can only hope that if I have kids of my own they are as magical as you
8. I love the way your eyes light up when you look at me, I don’t know if this happens for everyone you care about. but I know you do this for me, and I love it everyday I notice it, how your cheeks get all hot and your pupils dilate and you start cheesin all hard n shit, makes me feel all bubbly n warm inside, I love it!
9. i love how you always have to finish a section of corn before you move on to the next, it reminds me of someone reading a book, you go chapter by chapter and not all over the place, you finish it like.. chomp by chomp in small sections. it’s cute and definitely different ^_^
10. the last thing I love about you is how you don’t repress yourself for anyone, when you are with me and ganke you are so unapologetically yourself and I love that about you. It encourages me to be me, it encourages ganke to be ganke as well. I love it, and I love you
- [name] [last name]
as miles read over the letter, to say he was shocked was the understatement of the century, he felt his face get hot and his head was spinning as he tried to wrap his head around this.. but he was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard his dad speak.
“ miles, who is this young lady you’re running around with? some tomboy? son, she better not be one of those thugs you hung around at your old school!”
“ no! dad.. he-“ miles stopped himself right before he could finish his sentence, he looked like a deer in headlights as his parents stared at him, with a look of pure shock and confusion.
“ this was not how I wanted to come out.” miles thought to himself as he took hold of the letter, his parents were scrambling for answers, but miles just took a deep breath as he skimmed over the letter again
a letter his boyfriend wrote for his birthday
a/n: birthday is in the colors of jeff and rio’s dialogue because they’re his parents and miles wouldn’t be here and we wouldn’t be able to celebrate his birthday without them :3

ACT 2 WAS CRAZYYY
MAJOR SPOILERS UNDER CUT. LIKE ALL THE SPOILERS. I AM DUMPING MY THOUGHTS.
So ep 4 was great !!! I loved Jinx and Isha's interactions and then Isha getting her hair blue!!!
Ending of ep 4 was crazy 😭😭😭 could not believe vander was alive
LOVE EP 5 AHHH!!! The beginning sequence was incredible, showing vi's circle and how unsustainable it became. And then the teamup!!! They've finally sorta reconciled!! Poor Isha though, Vi standing up for her in ep 3 and then making her nose bleed now.
ALSO MEL. MEL HAPPENED. I SCREAMED WHEN "KINO" APPEARED IT WAS CRAZY. I love the way the black rose magic is animated. AND THE REVEAL WITH MEL. OH MY GOD. THAT WAS CRAZY
And then there's jayce. Oh, jayce. He is LOSING it. With how Viktor was talking in the end of the ep while possessing Salo he seemed like he was gonna be the villain, and then he was sunshine and daises in ep 6. Speaking of.
Ep 6. Wow. I. Wow. Im not ok fr.
First off, I like Jayce. He's a good character. But my first response to him at the end of the ep was WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKKKKKK
ANGRY SAD CRYING SOBBING however i do not hate him. He's complicated and my feelings are not simply anger. He's got a lot going on...good on him for not killing that child in front of him though. Even though he killed them later.
CAITVI MADE UP???? WHAT???? LOVE THAT FOR THEM. They're slowly kinda back?? They at least worked together. Also can we talk about how caitlyn immediately attacked Vi when she saw her walking. Like that was overkill, the way she hit her multiple times. Caitlyn didn't recognize her as Vi and if she had she wouldn't have done that, I think. But it shows what she thinks. I'm gonna have a more in depth post about the brutality from the Enforcers/Noxians soon. Im just getting my thoughts out rn.
Ok. Now the big part. Actually crying over Isha. We don't know for sure.....I'm praying shes ok....but wow. All I've got to say is she's brave. She's incredible. She's smart. She took the hextech gemstones from Vi's gauntlets anticipating a fight. She's so amazing, and I really hope she's ok. Also Vander. I've got less hope for him, though.
Misc thoughts:
EP 6 PARALLELS TO EP 3 S1. FINALLY REUNITING AND EVERYTHING GOING TO BE OKAY, THEN SOMEONE GOES AND FUCKS IT UP. WHAT THE GOOF.
on a lighter note AAAAAA THEY PLAYED PAINT THE TOWN BLUE! THATS MY FAVORITE SONG FROM THE SOUNDTRACK!!!!!
Loved seeing Vi and Jinx's mom. She's so much like Jinx. Younger Silco too! And the flashback scene, seeing Vi and Jinx before their parents died. Which means they KNEW Vander when they saw him on the bridge. They knew him all their life. Im not ok rn. Also Vander suggesting the name violet??? DO YOU THINK SILCO SUGGESTED THE NAME POWDER?
AND THEN AND THEN. VIKTOR SAID THE THING. HE SAID GLORIOUS EVOLUTION. AND THEN JINX SAID "MACHINE HERALD" IN REFERENCE TO VIKTOR IM LOSING IT.
Anyways i think thats it....i need act 3 now

ordinary things
olen zellweger x fem! reader
warnings?: cursing, kissing, disgustingly pure fluff <3
masterlist
-
you laid on your couch anxiously, with your exam open on the computer that sat in your lap. you were enveloped by the comfort of one of your boyfriends hoodies as you watched him play one of his first games in the national hockey league. if there was anything you loved, it was watching olen play hockey. his passion radiated off of him like fumes. his love was so contagious, and he was thriving.
“fuck i need to finish this exam.” you groaned, forcibly removing your attention from the tv back to this god forsaken exam. you just didn’t want to miss anything. you half-assed the remainder of the test, not caring what you got in the moment. they were ahead and you sat there chewing your cuticles to death. the whole reason he was called up in the first place was because of injury, you couldn’t say that didn’t make you nervous.
“pass from zellweger, he shoots, HE SCORES, alex killorn! effortlessly shot.” he says. you jolt up off the couch jumping and cheering to yourself.
“HIS FIRST POINT! OH MY GOD.” you cheered looking at yourself in the mirror as if you were cheering with a friend, sporting one of his beloved ducks hoodies, moments later receiving a text from your mom who was also watching. your family loved olen and always took any opportunity they could to support him. you replied instantly, expressing your excitement.
“i have to get him something.” you state scrambling to find your wallet, opening doordash on your phone, ultimately landing on chipotle. you waited for the end of game buzzer to finalize their win before you submitted your order, praying it would make it on time. you opened one of his drawers on your shared dresser, changing into a pair of his boxers, frankly one of the pairs you always stole. you turned to your full body mirror, giving yourself an up and down.
“oh yeah work it girl.” you joked. he always loved seeing you wear his clothes “better” than him. he always made you feel like the most beautiful girl in the world, even in an outfit like this.
about half an hour later, your chipotle arrived at the door and you placed it out on the counter, impatiently waiting for the lock to turn from across the room. you bounced your knee out of anxiety as you waited. your mind raced.
what were you gonna say to him? what would he want to do? would he just want to go to sleep? god you didn’t care, you just wanted to be in his presence. truth be told you missed him even if it had only been a few hours. you were so sad you couldn’t make it to his game especially today. you just wish more than anything that you could be back in his arms.
minutes later your wish was granted.
“oh my god olen” you say latching onto him tightly before the door even shuts. he drops his bag returning the hug, holding you snuggly against him.
“what’s all this?” he asks giggling as you step away revealing yourself in his clothes.
“my love, you got your first point.” you smile, resting your hand on his cheek, running your thumb over his soft cheekbone.
“yeah i did, but it’s no big deal really.” he giggles squeezing your hand lightly.
“i got us chipotle.” you say, removing your hand from his face, directing his attention to your kitchen counter.
“you didn’t have to do that baby, but i appreciate it, thank you.” he replies smiling pulling you back into his warm embrace, placing a hand on the back of your head, lightly running his thumb back and forth.
“i wanted a reason to celebrate you. this is my chance.” you say, pulling away.
“you’re too good to me.” he smiles sweetly before really scanning you up and down.
“says you.” you blush, noticing the path of his eyes.
“you look beautiful.” he smiles cheekily, kissing you on the side of the head, walking over to the counter.
“i’m literally wearing your clothes.” you laugh, meeting him at his side as he puts his food together.
“you know you always look beautiful, even if you wore a trash bag as a dress and tissue boxes as shoes. you’d still be the most beautiful girl in the world.” he continues before taking a bite. his words made your heart so warm and full you could almost burst into tears. you never felt that you deserved the way he treated you.
“you know i hate when you do this.” you reply.
“why because i don’t let you compliment me back?” he giggles.
“yes!” you reply quickly.
“i’ll allow it tonight okay?” he giggles, squeezing your thigh lightly.
“about fucking time, you’re the most handsome man i’ve ever seen. i don’t think anyone prettier than my boy even exists.” you smirk at him, kissing his stuffed cheek.
“don’t get too crazy.”
“olen.” you reply sternly. what you said wasn’t a lie to you. not only was he beautiful, but he also made it impossible to find anyone else attractive.
“i’m sorry.” he laughs, stuffing his face with another bite. you both sat in silence eating your dinner, rather quickly.
“movie?” you ask as he finishes his last bite.
“whatever you want baby.” he smiles. you drag him by the hand to the couch, leaning back in the corner so he could rest his head in your lap. typically, he was the one showing his affection, but he had a big night whether he wanted to admit it or not, and you wanted nothing more than to shower him with all the love you could muster in one sitting.
-
“are you ready for bed?” you giggle at the boy who’s dozing off with his head in your lap as you run your fingers through his soft locks.
“huh? oh, yeah i am.” he says coming back to earth and speaking all at once.
“get up sleepyhead.”
“i’m going.” he says sitting up slowly. you follow hot on his heels to the bathroom as you do your nightly ritual together. he rushed through everything just to get in bed, his eyes filled with sleep. you finished brushing your teeth and put all of your products away, standing in the doorway admiring the beauty of the boy you had so effortlessly fallen in love with.
“you know my grandma always told me ‘never go to bed without a kiss goodnight and if you don’t feel comfortable doing that then you’re in the wrong place’.” the boy said, looking at you standing in the doorway.
you replied with silence as you made your way to the bed, pulling the comforter over you. you brought your lips to his lovingly, tasting the sweetness of the lip mask you got for him which he somehow remembered to put on every night.
“i’d say i’m in the right place.” you smile lightly as he brushes a strand of hair behind your ear, bringing your lips together once again.
“i love you.” he speaks on your lips, pecking them once more before pulling away.
“i love you too pretty boy.” you giggle, rolling over to pull the chain of your lamp.
“goodnight my love.” he whispers, pressing a light kiss to your shoulder before pulling you to his chest.
“goodnight.” you reply, a smile spreading across your face. you felt so at peace going to bed every night knowing how loved you were.

it’s fine, i’m fine, everything’s fine…
we had a couple scrums, no REAL fights, but damon salvatore punched good(bad)row in the face a few times! i choose to believe he did that for me because i needed some action in this game!
my bubs, my baby, light of my life, love of my heart, my lil angel pumpkin sugarplum, got the only goal of the night on a penalty shot and kept us from getting shutout, which i’m sure we all appreciated! i’m so proud of you shnookums!
also, look at my besties huddled together :( i love those fuckers <3
