• The Cat King has so much free time that he has read the entire saga of Warriors books ("Los gatos guerreros" for those of us who speak Spanish) and is a faithful follower of them, he even has the entire collection stored somewhere.

• Niko decided to read “The Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo” and cried at the end (she still recommended it to Edwin to read it so they could discuss it together)

‒ At some point Niko and Crystal showed modern music to the boys (+ Monty and The Cat King). I'm not sure what everyone's favorites would be, but:

MEXICO CITY — The mayor of the capital of Mexico’s violence-plagued state of Guerrero was killed on Sunday less than a week after he took office, the state’s governor confirmed.

Alejandro Arcos was killed just six days after he took office as mayor of the city of Chilpancingo, a city of around 280,000 people in southwestern Mexico.

"His loss mourns the entire Guerrero society and fills us with indignation," Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado said in a statement shared on social media.

Guerrero's state attorney general's office also said it was investigating his murder.

The official confirmation came after photos circulated on messaging app WhatsApp depicting a severed head on top of a pick-up truck, appearing to be that of Arcos. Reuters could not independently verify the photos’ authenticity.

Arcos' death comes just three days after the new city government’s secretary, Francisco Tapia, was shot to death.

"They were young and honest officials who sought progress for their community," Senator Alejandro Moreno wrote on social media.

Moreno, who is the head of Mexico's PRI political party, called on the federal attorney general's office to lead the investigation into Arcos and Tapia's murders, given "the situation of ungovernability in Guerrero."

Guerrero has become one of the deadliest states for aspiring and elected public officials, as well as for journalists.

At least six candidates for public office were killed in the state in the run-up to Mexico's June 2 elections.

Arcos' social media posts show the mayor in recent days had been supervising disaster relief efforts following the impact of Hurricane John last month, which caused severe flooding in beach resort Acapulco and surrounding towns

El huracán Otis, uno de los más fuertes que se haya registrado en el Pacífico mexicano, dejó al menos 27 personas muertas y cuatro más desaparecidas.

26 de octubre de 2023.- La tormenta, que tocó tierra como ciclón de categoría 5, golpeó el estado de Guerrero, en especial a la ciudad de Acapulco, con vientos sostenidos 260 km/h y rachas de hasta 315 km/h, lo que ocasionó destrozos en infraestructura, así como daños del sistema eléctrico, telefonía e internet.

Los comercios sufrieron daños en sus fachadas y saqueos tras el paso del huracán. Barrios de Acapulco resultaron anegados por el desbordamiento de ríos y arroyos.

El gobierno ordenó el despliegue del Ejército, la Marina y la Guardia Nacional. Un convoy que transportaba ayuda humanitaria partió de Ciudad de México por tierra debido a que el aeropuerto de Acapulco también resultó afectado.

Otis pasó en pocas horas de ser una tormenta tropical a un huracán de categoría 5 para tocar tierra durante la madrugada del miércoles en la costa del estado Guerrero, en el suroeste del país, como el ciclón más potente que haya golpeado a la costa Pacífica de México desde que hay registro, incluso más que el intenso huracán Patricia, de octubre de 2015.

Acapulco tiene cerca de 800,000 habitantes, según los últimos datos oficiales. A ellos se suma una población flotante de miles de turistas que acuden al destino por los atractivos de sus playas y su diversión nocturna.

Lecciones de Taxco

El reciente secuestro y asesinato de la niña Camila y el linchamiento de los culpables en esa ciudad son dos hechos que demuestran varios más:

El Estado de Guerrero no es un Estado de Derecho. Casi ningún estado de la federación mexicana lo es, pero Guerrero es uno de los peores casos.

Es un Estado fallido ya, exactamente, respecto a cualquier noción de bien común y democracia -acuérdate de Acapulco… y de tantas cosas más.

Lo que es y no es Guerrero tiene una de sus causas/explicaciones en la alianza de los gobernantes con la delincuencia organizada. Esa alianza se mantuvo y se extendió. Esos gobernantes son del partido de AMLO.

Y no sólo se trata de un Estado fallido y criminal, por tanto narco y corrupto, también es un maximato. Jorge Volpi dijo, basado en nada, que los maximatos nunca han existido en realidad… Pero sí hay casos empíricos y el Guerrero del presente es uno: el verdadero gobernante (a favor de sí mismo, de su familia y de sus aliados políticos, económicos y criminales) no es la “gobernadora” Evelyn Salgado sino su papá, el senador morenista Felix Salgado Macedonio.

Guerrero hoy es uno de los peores resultados del obradorismo como poder. Puesto de otra manera, es uno de los mejores ejemplos de cómo AMLO, Morena y los suyos han empeorado lo que estaba mal.

PLOT DROP 001.

A shrill scream rattled through the courtyard of the Lal Qila palace just as dawn began to crest on the horizon. As guards of all nations rush to the scene of the commotion, panic spreads like wildfire on the sleepy lips of the rest, and talk of an attack flooded through the halls. Abdullah Hasan is the first to intercept the intruders, flanked quickly by Cailean Alexander Fergusson, Otto Estrada, and Ashikawa Satoshi. There was a brief clash of arms, resulting in various injuries to all four of them, until Prince Angelo Tolentino arrived to the fight and recognized some familiar faces, and called for a pause in the violence. By now, everyone had gathered to watch, many still in their nightclothes, clinging to their loved ones, watching from windows and balconies or right there in the courtyard. With the help of Suzume Sõ and Ariyan Banerjee working to smooth the tension between military parties, finally, the royal Chakri family, leaders of the Thailand Kingdom, emerge from the fray. Directly following behind them is the national French military, under the command of the French Prime Minister in conjunction with the royal Orléans family, looking more curious than anything else. 

It is there under the purple and pink-hued sky that the Chakri rulers explain the reason behind their sudden, and forceful, arrival. With heavy hearts, it is announced that the Chakri rulers experienced their own loss; the death of their heirs, two young children. Having little military power of their own, they call upon their French allies to aid in the fight. Attention turns to the Empress Sharma-Thimmana and her spouse Eesha Sharma. They state; "Clearly the Mughal Empire has no handle on things, as we have still suffered, yet received no invitation. The time for frivolous balls and niceties are over." 

With exits blocked and the might of the French military at the helm, the Chakri rulers force a LOCKDOWN at Lal Qila. No one in and no one out, until a thorough search of every apartment is conducted by the French military. All residing in Lal Qila are escorted back to their chambers, held to their seats until all is inspected. Papers searched, trunks overturned, and possessions confiscated by the Thai and French contingencies. The King of Egypt, Achillas Badi, balked at the violation of his family's privacy, questioning the authority of the new kingdoms. After a heated argument and swords drawn in the corridor, Damian Bonaparte intervenes and appeal to his French cousins to bring civility back to the fray. Once the inspection is complete, the residents are allowed to roam Lal Qila once more. Though there is no rest for the wicked, and as nightfall comes, little sleep is had under the siege of enemy kingdoms.

After a long, tense day and sleepless night, the residents are called the next morning to an invitation to dinner that evening in the grand hall. All shall gather to discuss next steps and the true spearhead of the investigation. Neither a pen drop or a breath could be heard, as tense silence filled the grand hall. 

That is, until a scandalized cry echoes through the dining hall. Vinnie Guerrero led a parade of several individuals under arrest and shackled together. With exclamation, princesses Parvati and Raveena Sharma demand the immediate release of the prisoners. Once more, chaos is unleashed as the French rulers refuse to release the “intruders.” Food is thrown every which way, swords are drawn, and the doors are blocked, resulting in more injuries as the confusion takes over. Princesses Kaiming Qing and Ziyi Qing were, unfortunately, closest to the outbreak and were quickly escorted to the infirmary. It was Princess Evelyn Stuart, aided by Leith Cathal, who managed to release the prisoners after realizing that her Lady Eleonora Alderberg had been wrongfully arrested with the others.

Finally, the “intruders” have a chance to say their piece. After introducing themselves as the newly independent royal family of Madagascar, the Ratsifi rulers condemn both France and Thailand for their actions, past and present. They were there on official invitation from the Sharma royal family, to offer support and strength in the investigation. Princess Joanna Stuart is the first to stand, pledging their support against France and Thailand’s demand for leadership in the investigation. Silence fell over the forgotten meal… until Aaliyah Soloman stood to pledge support to the new arrivals, insisting that they be given an equal chance to hunt for answers. To end the disagreement, it was decided that come morning, nations would choose to engage with who they saw fit moving forward. 

When the next morning dawned, there were massive portraits hung in the main hall of each fallen royal - including the two newest deaths of the young heirs. The Chakri royals claim to have commissioned and hung them up as a show of good faith, and to earn the loyalty and trust of those who may still wish to place it otherwise. 

Two investigations. One palace. A number of unearthed secrets.

―   Kay Olivia Challis is a girl who developed 64 'personas' (also known as alters) from the trauma of being abused by her father. Each of Kay's alters have a meta-human ability of their own, residing within her psyche in a place known as the Underground. After being abused past a point she couldn't handle, Kay gave up her primary role to Miranda and withdrew into her subconsciousness. .

―   Jane became the primary alter after Miranda, Kay Challis's former primary alter, destroyed herself at the Well in the Underground due to following advice from the Sisters as a result of being coerced into sex. When Jane surfaced, she punched Miranda's boyfriend, Johnny, and told everyone present that she didn't know who was worse - the men, for taking advantage of the women, or the women, for letting the men take advantage of them. Jane promptly left, and insisted on being called Jane when Johnny called after Miranda .

―    Jane regularly lived in a sanatorium and would often sneak to go outside. In 1976, she was experimented on and her alters were given the powers they now possess. Alters such as Katy and Hammerhead would try to assist her but at the expense of Jane getting accused and punished for it. In the year 1977, Jane was at a punk rock concert in New Jersey when she was assaulted by two men in a mosh pit. However, she fought them off but was soon apprehended by police officers and dragged back to the sanatorium where she sustained further abuse from her keepers such as Doctor Bertrand. As a result of sustaining such abuse from her keepers Dr. Harrison awoken.

―  In the year 1978, she eventually met a scientist named Niles Caulder who rescued her body and took her into Doom Manor. He conducted numerous interviews and documentations with her to understand her disorder. She enlightened him on the Underground, following the discussion of a hostile alter named Katy. 

―  Jane revisited Doom Manor and obnoxiously made a scene as Sylvia and Hammerhead emerged. Later, Jane was personally introduced to Cliff Steele while painting outside. Jane mentioned that Hammerhead had told her about her altercation with Cliff. Cliff, however, apologized to Jane, explaining that he had been a "little on edge" with the approach of his deceased daughter's upcoming birthday. Jane spent the rest of the day painting, until the Hangman's Daughter took over and conversed with Cliff in the rain. 

―  When Niles left to go on another one of his travels, Jane suggested that Cliff, Larry, and Rita sneak out into town. After some convincing, they all agreed. Once there, Jane accompanied Cliff and walked with him to a toy store, to get a gift in memory of his daughter. They both sat on a bench afterward where Cliff shared some of his past with Jane. She eventually lit a cigarette and blew smoke in his face to see if any of his senses would react, to no avail. Jane eventually brought up that Cliff's daughter was still alive, but he refused to believe it, causing Hammerhead to surface and attempt to start an altercation with some police officers. Jane returned, however, when they noticed that Rita had lost control of herself, rampaging and causing massive destruction to the town. Jane and Cliff ran after her to stop her. Through Jane's failed attempts to get through to Rita, Hammerhead took over yet again. 

―  When they all returned back to Doom Manor, Niles did as well. He scolded all of them and warned them of incoming danger. The majority, including Jane, voted that it would be best to move someplace safer. As Cliff stayed behind to help Cloverton, Jane voiced wanting to help him. Everyone, but Niles, sided with her and she eagerly turned back around. They met with Cliff in the streets of Cloverton and encountered an albino donkey. A sinkhole suddenly formed in the road,[4] and began to swallow everything within its perimeter including the group's bus, which Niles was aboard. The sinkhole began to attract the bus and although Jane tried to stop it, it was successfully swallowed. Denying Cliff's pleas, Jane jumped into the sinkhole after Niles .

Solo coordinados se podrá tener Guerrero en mejores condiciones | Parra

CHILPANCINGO, Guerrero * Enero 31, 2025 ) LXIV Legislatura | Guerrero Al pronunciar el mensaje a nombre de la LXIV Legislatura por el 175 Aniversario de la Instalación del Congreso Constituyente, el diputado Jesús Parra García, presidente de la Mesa Directiva, aseguró que con el apoyo, compromiso e institucionalidad de los tres poderes del Estado se podrá tener un Guerrero con mejores condiciones de educación, salud, seguridad, justicia y leyes justas. En la sesión solemne para conmemorar dicho acto, realizado en la Plaza de las Tres Garantías de esta ciudad, se contó con la presencia de la Gobernadora del Estado, maestra Evelyn Cecia Salgado Pineda, el magistrado presidente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia, Ricardo Salinas Sandoval, así como el presidente municipal de Iguala de la Independencia, Erik Catalán Rendón. Allí, el legislador resaltó la importancia de recordar este hecho histórico que fue el origen y principio de instituciones que dieron forma, rumbo y personalidad al naciente estado de Guerrero, que lleva el apellido del consumador de la independencia, Don Vicente Guerrero Saldaña. Y dijo que la historia constitucional de Guerrero muestra la capacidad no solo de crear, modificar y adaptarse a las exigencias de la sociedad, sino a mantener los ideales y principios para asumir con honor las responsabilidades. Refirió Parra García que a 175 años los tres Poderes de la entidad y en particular la LXIV Legislatura, trabaja en la adecuación del marco jurídico a las reformas constitucionales surgidas del Constituyente permanente. “Los Poderes evocamos con emoción el legado histórico de nuestros primeros legisladores locales de 1850 aquí, en Iguala, cuna del estandarte nacional, punto de unión de todas y todos los mexicanos, altar donde se diseñó no solo la Bandera, sino donde también se trabaja para seguir construyendo el Guerrero del Siglo XXI”, apuntó. En su mensaje la gobernadora del Estado refirió que todo proceso tiene momentos que influyen en la historia como el caso del constituyente guerrerense, que definió el destino de la entidad generando un pacto entre el pueblo y el nacimiento de una institución que da origen a la democracia y la soberanía, y que a 175 años sigue siendo el ejemplo que impulsó a los héroes de la independencia a seguir luchando por el derecho, la justicia, desarrollo y bienestar de los pueblos. Agregó que es una tarea de todas y todos lograr la paz en Guerrero, y que el Congreso juega un papel trascendental para escribir nuevas páginas de justicia y prosperidad para el estado, asimismo, refrendó el compromiso para continuar en la ruta de la transparencia, la equidad, bienestar y la transformación de las instituciones. En ese sentido, reafirmó el compromiso de seguir trabajando de manera coordinada con el Poder Legislativo en una agenda común en la construcción de leyes y reformas para continuar garantizando los derechos de la población guerrerense. En la sesión la diputada María de Jesús Galeana Radilla, secretaria de la Mesa Directiva, dio lectura al decreto de fecha 21 de marzo de 1850 por el que el Congreso Constituyente declara solemnidad nacional el día 30 de enero de 1850. Asimismo, el diputado Edgar Ventura de la Cruz, secretario de la Mesa Directiva, leyó el Acta Constitutiva del Congreso Constituyente del Estado Libre y Soberano de Guerrero. Una nueva ola de violencia en Acapulco ha azotado a repartidores de empresas como FEMSA (Coca-Cola), Grupo Modelo, Pepisco, Galletas Gamesa, Fud, entre otras, en los últimos días. Tan solo entre miércoles y jueves de esta semana, tres trabajadores fueron asesinados mientras cubrían sus rutas en distintos puntos de la principal zona turística del estado de Guerrero. Ante ello, el grupo de trasnacionales de alimentos y bebidas ha evitado que su personal cubra sus actividades y salgan a las calles. Por su parte, el gremio de transportistas han decidido continuar con el paro de labores hasta que el gobierno de la entidad —encabezado por la gobernadora Evelyn Salgado— y el municipal les den una respuesta a sus exigencias para poder trabajar en paz y bajo condiciones de seguridad. El cuerpo de la víctima quedó sin vida al interior de su camión repartidor. “La seguridad de nuestros colaboradores es prioridad para Coca-Cola FEMSA, por lo que hemos tomado la decisión limitar nuestras operaciones en nuestros centros de trabajo alrededor del puerto de Acapulco hasta nuevo aviso”, destacó la empresa. Sobre esa línea, se registró otro homicidio contra un repartidor de la empresa FUD fue ultimado a balazos en la colonia Hogar Moderno y se encuentra hospitalizado. En otro boletín en sus redes sociales, se condenaron los hechos de violencia y pidieron el esclarecimiento de los hechos por parte de las autoridades de Acapulco: “Es indispensable que en México prevalezca el Estado de derecho y que las autoridades atiendan esta situación, ya que el daño va más allá de lo material, pues hemos pasado de los robos al transporte de mercancías a la afectación directa de los colaboradores, dando como resultado la pérdida de vidas humanas, que es inadmisible”, enfatizó en el texto.
