Heavy spoilers, small pre-review and Questions!! + Evangeline's Cameo in Caraval Finale:

Soooo, I've read OUABH weeks ago because I saw it on insta and grew interested immidiately.

I've read the book and was so amazed by it! I was extremely hyped and right before the end, I loved Jacks and wished for Evanjacks to happen in the future.

When I later found out that Jacks also play a role in the Legendary and Finale, I bought the books too. I was unsure at first, since my heart wished Evangeline to be his one true love, but it was stated in the book that Tella broke his heart.

Anyways, I still read the Finale and my view to things, especially to Jacks changed a litte.

First question:

Why was Jacks tearing on his clothes in his church when Evangeline entered it? I assume it happend before he spend the night with Donatella, but his heart wasn't even broken there?

He kept his deal with Evangeline, while already knowing or even palnning (maybe we'll finally know in OUABH 2??) for her to open the Valory arch for him? So, in short, almost everything he makes in Finale is while Evangeline is stone? And Dante even tries to help her inidrectly.

TWO WEEKS AGO? Why would Jacks grieve in that time?

When he shows up a the fated ball of Prince Apollo, he doesn't seem to be heartbroken the whole time after he meets Evangeline again...

SG also stated in an interview that the idea of OUABH came to her mind after Finale. And then she thought she could use the girl who turns to stone in Finale -> Evangeline. So she set things up AFTER Finale, but Jacks still meets Evangeline at the beginning of Finale, which made me a bit sad, since he talks with her flirty when they meet the first time. And when he really planned everything about the Valory Arch the moment he saw Evangline, idk, it's a bit weird...

It feels so unreal that his meeting with Evangeline is while Finale. His attitude etc. don't match it.

Tella, Dante & Jacks

I find Tella's actions a bit wrong, even if I try to understand her. Dante saved and helped her, but she was angrier at him than he deserved imo. Yeah, he has been a bit unfair to her too, but the guy freed Fates to save her and has lots of horrific things to deal with...

Tella, Jacks & Evangeline

In comparison to Tella, Evangeline acts more geniune towards Jacks I'd say? And also, I had the impression that Jacks grew quicker attached to Evangeline than to Tella? Though I have to say, even if he is wicked, he helped them both in his own way.

Yeah, at then end of OUABH I was also angry, but if Evangeline turns his back on him too, and when he really cares for her, which I believe he does, his heart will be broken again. After Appolo's death, I thought they grew closer (SG even stated on her insts that Evangeline fell in love with Jacks while they were searching for the murderer) and I believed Jacks really cared for her. Especially when they communicate through their thoughts at the end when Evangeline is back in the palace and calls Jacks.

To one of my most important questions now:

Is Donatella Jacks one true love? Btw, she accepted it so easily, as if she just accepts simple things. Am I the only one who thinks this is weird? He also acted normal. I mean, she is suppoed to be the Prince of Hearts one and only one true love? And when he kisses Tella, she was supposed to die. His heart started beating much later? Or did he already know?

But then, Jacks heart starts beating in the crypt when he is with Evangeline, and I really had the feeling he is grown attached to her somehow?

Then again, he is a fate and fates can't love. Meaning he was obsessed with Tella, but didn't love her like a human?

Also, how many one true loves can he have? I was savely assuming Evangeline will be his love and hopefully lover & wife?

OUABH 2

I hope that Dante, Tella, Scar & Julian will come back in the future too. It would be so sad. I want to see Dante and Tella together and even meet with Evangeline. And I hope Jacks will fall deeply for Evangeline, Stephanie Garber already stated that Evangeline fell in love with Jacks. I feel sorry for her and hope she will have a lovely future with Jacks. Maybe he can become mortal and fall in love the very first time.

What do you think? Readers who know the characters and Caraval much better than me?

Did Jack fall for Tella? Is she his one true love?

In short, I am so invested in this story! (Still didn't finish Finale btw) I never thought I would love these characters so much. In fact I didn't even think I would like Legendary and Finale so much, since I was a huge fan of OUABH, Evanjacks. It's heartbreaking and complicated!

No joke, OUABH was so good that finishing ACFTL made me physically ill. I have one of the worst colds of my life rn and it started as soon as I was halfway through ACFTL
