Max Verstappen - would do it because his partner wants to watch him do it. Would get strangely competitive about it

Oh my god, I completely forgot about this AU 😭 and I was so obsessed with it.

Okay okay, what would you like to know specifically? I do not remember fully what I have already divulged on this AU.

Pierre is studying sports medicine, specifically sports cardiology (this is food for me and me only, wanting to add dashes of cardiophilia in). He's very serious about his studies and sometimes runs himself ragged taking on too many classes at once and having endless loads of school work. Balancing his work load and his daily routine is difficult and he sometimes suffers pretty hard because of it.

Esteban is an athlete. He's in college for general studies, also taking a few basic sports medicine and sports management classes to try and understand the full spectrum of the world of sports and what it means to be an athlete. He's balancing just a few classes part time, while racing as his full time focus. He's exhausted a lot too, but for other reasons. He is Pierre's roommate.

Pierre uses Esteban's body as a living test dummy for his biology and medicine classes after Esteban offers it up to him one night. It sort of opens the door between them (having had a fairly strained relationship before then).

It's perfect, because Esteban is an athlete and the very type of person Pierre will be working with one day. Esteban ends up inviting Pierre to races, and Pierre has a ton of fun. He also sneaks in some school work - studying Esteban's body while he races, ect. They of course grow quite close, something more than friends. Something warm and comfortable. Something Something Pierre knows Esteban's body better than Esteban does.

Anyway, in the end, Esteban ends up in F1 and Pierre is hired on as his physio/personal doctor.

There's some stuff that happens in between but that's the basic gist of the verse!

Hi!!! I just wanted to tell you that seeing your new game reminded me that Stay? exists and that it's soooo good. It's been a while since I played it, so I don't remember the details, but I do remember being amazed at how much variation there was, how every detail was perfectly woven into the story, and how human the characters felt despite us not getting that much time to know them. Plus, I personally love war plots, and yours DID NOT disappoint. I also really loved how the different "career paths" impacted your story, and just how many different details and paths you could get depending on what you did at every step of the way. I don't know, I just remember liking it a lot and feeling really accomplished once I managed to beat it.

Also, out of curiosity, who are all the LIs? In my lifetimes, I remained pretty faithful to Myka (love of my life, she was so great!!!), but I imagine Esteban, Jo, Suzette and Gemma to be romanceable. Did I miss someone else?

Another question I have is: how did you get the idea for the game? And by that I mean, what was the inspiration for the plot and all the different characters + why did you even decide to make a CYOA in the first place?

Because, again, it was incredibly good and I'd like to know which stars do I have to thank for it existing.

Anyways, once I'm really excited to play More a Haunting than a History, and I just know it's gonna be as great as Stay? was!

Hello there! Thanks for writing me. There are five major romanceable characters in Stay?: Myka, Esteban, Jo, Gemma, and Suzette. Technically, there are some minor romanceable NPCs (ex. the different folks you can live your life with in the "fuck off into the hills" ending), but those five are the main gist of it. The main five can also also each be platonic life partners for you, rather than traditional romantic partners, if that's more your style.

Myka is my wife's favorite love interest in Stay? by far, so great taste.

Stay? actually has a very clear origin story for me. My friends and I played Outer Wilds, which I highly highly recommend, and I was so delighted by its balance and structure that I wanted to see if I could make something built on the same bones. I drafted up my @sortinghatchats quiz to get used to the ink system, and then dove into Stay?. It was the most fast/obsessed I've ever put a story on paper (so to speak) and I admit I may still be chasing that high.

I built the basic structure first, and then added on the setting, characters, plot macguffins, details, etc. on top, trying to interweave and connect them. I like how it turned out. The plotline with the southern lands, to be vague for spoilers reasons, was actually a very late addition and I think it, in many ways, is what made the game work for me.

I hope you enjoyed MAHTAH! It's a very different game than Stay?, in some ways; and I'm proud of myself in different ways in terms of what I tried to build there.

1) Who or what got you into f1 ?

funnily enough, at the beginning i was almost completely against giving f1 a try bc all of my friends were obsessed so i jokingly wanted to take a stand haha. anyways, one day my friend made up this extremely funny, over the top story about lando and i was like okay i gotta know more. long story short, i am now a huge fan.

ps: despite their attempts i am also a huge max fan (they hate him)

2) Who was the very first driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?

lando was my man for so long. like i really did love him and still do but eventually max became my number 1 and lando dropped to number 2. then just recently, charles overtook lando in my personal ranking as well. although lando has dropped in my rankings, all of my opinions on him are the same, i still love him and can’t wait to witness his first win !!

3) Who’s your current favorite f1 driver?

who else but THE max verstappen? i respect and love that man with my whole heart. he really is in his era of dominance and i am so glad i became a fan early enough to witness it.

4) Is there a driver pairing or pairings that you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?

i love lestappen because as a duo they are just so fascinating, from knowing and hating each other in karting to respecting and valuing the other in formula 1.

i also am partial to carlando because the friendship that carlos and lando have truly seems to be something special. it’s quite cute.

5) Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favorite team and/or favorite driver(s)?

so i’ve been working on making my entire family a fan of f1. my dad has always loved lewis, my mom likes charles and my siblings like lando. they don’t really support any team yet.

6) Do you have any favorite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?

since i only began watching this season, i haven’t watched as many races as i would like but i’m hoping to go back and do a deep dive of past seasons. from this season, i really liked silverstone (my first race), monza (i watched with my friend and i loved the battles) and las vegas (charles’ overtake!!)

7) Do you have a favorite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.

i really like monza, silverstone and austria.

umm probably the rb19 because the amount max was able to achieve with it is otherworldly. the engineers and rbr team really did an absolutely excellent job with it.

So, he is thankful, he really is. The Stroll family are literally saving him from the cesspool of French bastards (read: Esteban Ocon) and are now buying into their origins by adding another French bastard (read: Pierre Gasly) to replace him. Before testing, his only comfort is that the two Alpine divers get along as well as he and Ocon did, which is pretty unspectacularly. 

And the Aston Martin team needs some comfort going into the 2023 season because Lance fell off a bicycle and broke his wrists. Great. Fantastic. If his new teammate weren’t the boss’s son he he’d bully him for it, but he’s trying to detach himself from the reputation that precedes him when joining each new team.

Has he been, in the past, the best teammate in the world? No. 

But he’s mostly forgotten 2007 and all the trials and tribulations that come along with being a World Champion and a rookie out-performing him at almost every race, and he tried being a good teammate to Lando come 2018, but his asshole-ery kicked in and the younger was mostly sent for coffee duty for him. Alpine was a mess, so he won’t treat himself too badly for that shitshow either, but hey, new year, new team that has not fucked him over or pissed him off, and a new chance to detach from the ‘grumpy old man’ caricature that hangs over him.

He’s turning over a new leaf perhaps, is what he thinks as he sits in the cockpit before his first test.

And when he gets ninth-fastest overall, with sandbags by his feet he thinks; oh, yeah, I’m definitely turning over a new leaf.

i feel like everyone writes strollonso in lance's POV so gonna try something different and do it in nando's!! already am in fact obsessed with my fic idea and it's cool having two completely different wips (george/daniel and this one) in the background while i work on fns!! HI HELLO YES HERES A RESURFACING CHILDHOOD MEMORY THAT IM OBSESSING OVER AGAIN!

During my last Power Rangers hyperfix (when i was 11-13 maybe?) I made a team called Power Rangers Jungle Thunder. As far as I know, it never went past the initial concept besides doodles on my school notes, as I didn’t know how to draw humans at the time.

Brace yourselves because this is a very rare loooong text post from me.

So here’s everything I remember about it along with some new stuff me and some buddies came up with!

Jungle Thunder was basically a cross between some of Megaforce’s mechanics and the ranger colors along with Jungle Fury’s theming. The Ranger’s attacks were likely magic based.

Their headquarters was this massive temple shrine ish place deep inside a distant jungle.

The colors and Zords were as followed: Red Jaguar, Blue Cobra, Yellow Macaw, Pink Cheetah, Black Lemur. They were kept in what was basically the temple’s backyard/back garden?

The bad guys were this reptilian ailen race called the Sintonians who understandably trying to take over Earth like every other Power Rangers villain. They interestingly used the traits and morphing energy of past Ranger teams to make each episode’s bad guy. The main antagonist was this dude called Lord Fury who I don’t remember a whole lot about. Other than he was blue.

The sixth ranger was this nonhuman White Ranger, who the team affectionately nicknamed “Buddy.” I forgot what animal he was, but he was created by the Sintonians to attack our heroes with. Of course, they end up befriending him. He had feral form that I’m struggling to remember how it worked, if any?

And the Pink Ranger’s name was Emmie. That’s the only one of the human Rangers whose name I can remember.

Ok. That’s all the original stuff 12yo Daring came up with. She got the concept down, now it’s time for all all the new juicy lore and tweaks. :3

The mentor/sensei character is this tree/dryad deity called Mother Gaia. (Kinda basic but it’s what me and the squad on discord decided on) She’s rooted to the center of the temple (name of said temple still pending) and is very curious about modern humanity, as she hasn’t seen humans in over a thousand years. Also she’s like a mom to them because I love found family dynamics ok

Another supporting character will be Esteban, a jungle spirt who is essentially Mother Gaia’s assistant. Basically Alpha-5’s role compared to Zordon. Don’t know what he’s gonna look like yet, but he’ll be a big help to the Rangers by teaching them their new abilities.

The Zords are pretty interesting.They all look like normal animals apart from the fact their eyes are their respective Ranger’s color. They’re actually the Spirt Guardians, who were sent by Gaia to find the Rangers. Each animal can transform into a giant Zord upon their Ranger’s command. Makes the back garden thing much more manageable if they’re not always giant robots.

If Jungle Thunder were an actual show, there’d sometimes be bumpers before and after commercial breaks with cool jungle and animal facts. :)

Buddy will likely have a basilisk or some type of reptile as his animal, being able to run really fast and stick to walls. Basically he’s the fucked up cryptid the team ends up adopting and I love him.

Ok. so here’s what I have of the lore and basic gist of the first episode. It’s still a wip so bear with me here✨

Long long ago, an ancient civilization in the jungle worshiped Mother Gaia and the Spirt Guardians. All was peaceful until Lord Fury (another deity) attacks, as he was very jealous that he wasn’t getting any attention. Gaia, Estaban and the Spirt Guardians managed to seal Lord Fury away deep underground, but not after he and his army had driven away and destroyed most of said civilization in an intense battle. The jungle itself had to be sealed off from the rest of world so Gaia could maintain the sealing spell that kept Fury at bay.

Fast forward to modern day. (dunno if it’s gonna be in 2024 or mid 2000s)

The Sintonian aliens land on Earth looking for a place to stay, and find the chasm in which Fury had been sealed. They make a deal with Fury, agreeing to follow him in exchange for their services, as they knew how to harness Morphing Energy. This pleases Fury greatly, as he may have a chance at getting vengeance on Gaia and humanity.

Gaia gets news of this and sends the Spirt Guardians to find five descendants of the past civilization with pure hearts to be the next heroes. Unbeknownst to five midwestern college students on a hiking trip, their lives are about to change. Their names are Reno, Isiah, June, Emmie, and Braxton.

The Jaguar Guardian steals the soon-to-be Red Ranger’s backpack. They are led by the animal guardians into a cave that is later how they get to and from the jungle. They meet Mother Gaia and Esteban, who explain the whole situation. After learning they were indeed not getting sacrificed, they agree to serve Gaia and protect humanity. Anything to get away from student loans tbh.

Spirt Guardians proceed to beam spiritual power into them via a ritual. Totally not trauma inducing at all. This power is how the Rangers morph, or are alerted to any of Fury’s shenanigans via Gaia’s telepathic power.

After some more debriefing from Tree Mother and her son, the newly formed Rangers get an alert. The Sintonians are terrorizing the local park in their generic midwestern town. The Rangers suit up and use their super cool new magic powers to kick some butt! :D Hooray!

Ok. Wow. That was a lot of words.

There are still some holes and other things I missed but that’s pretty much everything! It’s always so fun to find something I made as a kid and breathe new life into it! As if I didn’t have enough Ocs already :’) will soon be thinking of everyone’s designs.

OH MY GOD, I used to have severe eczema when I was in High school! So thank you anon for giving me a chance to heal my inner teenage self 😌

Also since eczema can be caused by different things, I tried my best to look for info on the internet  while still taking inspiration from my own experience

🧪 After he understands your situation, whatever is causing your eczema, he is going to find a way to treat it permanently! You don’t mind him sacrificing some test subjects, right? How about the guy that was rude to you last week? 

🧪 If he catches you mindlessly scratching at your skin too many times , he’s going to give you special mittens that can’t be taken off. He just can’t always keep an eye on you, so please don’t be mad at him for it.

📈 Esteban is going to be very overbearing about it, like he’ll pester you everyday if you don’t take care of your skin condition. If you want him to shut up, you'll have to be diligent about doing your treatments, because if you hit him with the “You’re not my mom/dad” he’ll sulk until you apologize.

📈 If your eczema is on your arms or somewhere else that could be accidentally rubbed against while cuddling, Esteban will make it a point to wear clothes that won’t irritate your skin.

📈 (I don’t know if that would make things worse, so sorry in advance if yes) When you show skin, if it’s possible and makes you feel better, he’ll try to kiss where your eczema is. He just wants to show that he loves every part of you, no matter what. 

📈 Esteban hit me to be the type to have a small spray bottle filled with water, so every time he catches you scratching your skin he’ll spray you like a disobedient cat.

💿 Having been created to serve humans, he would instantly know how to treat your eczema and will make it his duty. So he’s going to give you all the tips possible to make it less severe. 

💿 He’ll still ask you to go see a professional though, if you didn’t already, and even go as far to book an appointment for you. 

💿 If you use corticosteroid ointment or a moisturizing cream, don’t even think about skipping these treatments. Atlas will literally set up internal alarms to notify when it's time for you to put some on and if you complain he'll just do it for you. 

💿 You’re going to feel like you have your own personal doctor, except that doctor lives with you 24/7 and is secretly obsessed with you.

🪓 Martin doesn’t know a lot about that skin condition, but if you want to, he is going to try to help you as best as he can.

🪓 First thing first, he’ll ask the elders if they have any recipe for homemade moisturizing cream or something similar and he’ll ask the town's doctor if he can be of any help.

🪓 Living in a post-apocalypse world makes access to certain treatments more difficult, but don’t worry he’ll go wherever and do whatever it takes to secure it for you. He needs to make a trip that will take him two weeks by foot? Consider it done.

🪓 He already observes you all the time, so he would make it a habit to gently take your hand in his when you scratch your skin or maybe just rub your back to signal to you that you are doing it.

obsessed with this one lis2 teaser that's literally just a condensed version of the Officer Matthews dashcam opening from ep 1, but they straight-up edited out the gunshot audio to fuck with everybody. and apparently people thought that Esteban (who you can hear trying to reassure Daniel offscreen) was another cop? which in context feels like an insult to his memory, but it really is a fascinating example of the need for a "good cop," the assumption that of course there must be another officer on the scene trying to de-escalate things, when it's actually Esteban, a civilian (and from a social group automatically viewed as criminal) taking on that role. ntm the way you obviously think whatever the cop saw HAD to be worth losing his shit over, right? when it was really just two teenagers having a five-second fistfight.
