how did you become so skilled at outfit design? literally all of your ocs have amazing cohesive outfits that tell a great story! I'm an artist and I get very intimidated by outfit design haha

Honestly it’s always been a bit of a passion so that’s why I’m able to throw myself into it so fully,, and I use a lot of references/inspiration to go off of to get the perfect look 👌 If you hadn’t noticed already I’m really a fan of outfits with super intricate and complex details. I feel like my designs have just gotten better over the years bc I study it so much :’)

But yeah references are your best friend! If there’s a general look you want to go for it’s always good to gather some reference material to get inspiration from. Or if you don’t even have an idea you can spend hours going down the rabbit hole of character design like I do haha

not in order bc i sketch-wrote these down while watching first but guys im so im so .head in hands

-15 pts for the character development, relationships, ideas, etc set up in s1 that were thrown out in s2 and s3. war trauma, immigrant experience, ghost aftermath, individuality, healing process, autobot guilt, byebye. so much character assassination still happening

+1 for following through i guess

+1 shockwave 'all are dead' comic cover reference and having him react to it

+5 every appearance of frenzy and laserbeak. theyre professional hecklers i love them

-1 bc of how the art direction was already established having 2d handdrawn effects but obv their animation has been toned down, there are quite a few instances of 3d smoke made to look like 2d shading which is not necessarily bad on its own but doesnt feel like it fits here

+1 rage virus had nice potential for bringing simmering resentments to surface,, wish the show delved deeper into the characters thoughts + fallout

-1 megatron's va sounds like he was given direction to hold back somehow on his delivery ?? idk it just feels like forced gentleness compared to earlier performance like his lines don't fit him

-2 animation lacking feeling of weight, movements are stiff, unnatural esp for huge guys made of metal. how in the world did twitch push megatron over

-2 fight choreo is more generic and plain,, characters tend to fight in similar ways when they wouldnt, considering different sizes, abilities, personalities etc,, everyone is just tossing each other around

-2 teasing us with breakbee and then actually setting it on fire and then killing bumblebee's personality too and while we're here thrash and mo as well

+1 escape room ep overall was kinda fun. i like the idea of leaning into twitchs big sister role but like u dont have to water down the others when highlighting one character?? the maltos are kids, but theyre not like.stupid

+1 optimus pushing megatron down to protect him and megs glancing down where optimus' hand is on him. someone in story room is pushing megop

Stepping over the dead bodies of a few of his men, Joel had narrowly dodged more arrows, spikes, darts; the whole lot, until some secret fucking door opened up like a goddamn scooby-doo house and there you were, gun to his forhead.

“Joel fucking Miller, I’ll be damned.”

Joel narrowed his eyes. He didn’t recognize you, but you knew him. That wasn’t surprising, he’d gained a bit of a reputation from raiders, fireflies and regular people. “Who the hell are you?”

You tell him your name, first name at least, and make quick work of taking out the gun in his hand. “Armed with anything else, Miller?” He said he wasn’t, but you knew that was a lie. “Don’t believe that for a second.”

“Then why the hell did you ask?” His texan drawl was prominent, especially when he was worked up.

“More fun to mess with you.” Keeping the gun pressed up to his temple, you press your body against his in turn as you pat him down for more weapons. It didn’t hurt that he was handsome.

“JESUS!” Joel jumped as you grabbed at his ass. “Watch your fucking hands.”

You can’t help but giggle; he thinks he's in charge. “You could be hiding weapons anywhere-” He tenses as you slip your hand between his buttcheeks as much as his jeans allow. “-Can’t be too careful.”

Joel was a brutal man, you heard stories of his rage and carelessness for human life, including women. the falcon and the flower

hear ye hear ye, im planning a short story lol and believe it or not storyboarding is significantly more entertaining of a process than actually having to actually write lmao. whodve thunk.

anyways this post exists for a few reasons, mostly so i can map things out in one place (i plan on posting it here eventually hehe) but also for context and references and insight from yall & general yapping so if ur interested take a seat :3

i. inspiration & background info: the idea came to me after watching this short about a painting that depicts the story of a king and a beggar maid who lived a quiet life together. and i think thats neat lol.

the ballad that inspired the painting is mentioned and was popularised in the works of shakespeare and alfred tennyson respectively among several others, old and new. the 2 paintings (1884 and 1898) belong to edward burne-jones.

the maid in the painting is said to resemble burne-jones' wife (dont be fooled he had an affair. also turns out its kinda his signature way to paint women) which made me realise that the way the ballad was interpreted (and therefore immortalised so to speak) was according to the views of the aforementioned vessels and the norms of the time.

and so it struck me and my 0 knowledge of art history as odd for the love interest to just so happen to appeal to the eurocentric beauty ideals of the time (she is described as having dark hair yet is painted in both as auburn?) and by extension the male gaze (esp in the 1884 painting where her clothes are somewhat translucent and she sports a neckline too scandalous for the era lol).

also the king being specifically described as 'african' (by the narrators? the ballad doesnt specify and i havent found any origin for the name) and then proceeding to ignore that completely. or worse. point is old dead white guys and their pesky world views probably thought slapping a single word last minute and calling it a day was a very progressive move. and i took that personally

ii. creative liberties taken: point is im giving this my own twist because i can. everyone is entitled to their own views and interpretations (mostly). the beauty of art to me lies in the many ways it can be seen and percieved, and i personally love seeing how ones culture and background reflects in that, so thats what im doing. kinda.

and at the end of the day maybe to someone else my interpretation completely misses the point is biased to what im familiar with. which is absolutely valid and they would be right lol. idk i just wanted to kinda add this as a heads up and a general fyi. we all know how repressed everyone was back then lol. so much so it became a name of a complex. moving on.

iii. symbolism and stuff: looked up a bunch of birds this morning loll and settled at first for a starling. i might keep the imagery idk i had a very specific idea for the king but then falcons popped into my head and i was like dang this is cooler. so it stuck!

the flower i first had in mind was rosa abyssinica, then the desert rose, finally i decided to switch to maybe my favouritest flower ever: and *cough* the national flower of jordan *cough* the black iris :D

its pretty and rare and not at all realistic to the events of the story but its mine so leave me be lol. if i can sprinkle some of my culture/ heritage and get away with it i will. sue me :p

anyway the cool and not at all pretentious title is a reference to the main characters; a king who loves birbs and the owner of a small flower stall in the marketplace (both of which are now specified)

I don't have too many thoughts, but I think a neat thing for Jean's hellfire look could possibly be a simple green/red dress but she uses her TK/Physic powers to kinda...create an outfit around her?? So it ends up becoming a huge pink ball gown that kinda symbolises Jean's sheer presence, esp with the mental energy it takes to keep such a large dress going for a whole night

And idk WHAT,,,but I like the idea of Maddy having a Cinderella based/themed outfit akin to the idea of who she Was and the outfit changes over the night to represent who she is now and her self autonomy

Isn’t it kinda weird that people ship daemyra? I'm not targeting daemyra, but the shippers. Though their relationship was acceptable in their era, I see many fans using this as a pretext to actively endorse it, which is problematic. It's one thing to acknowledge the historical and cultural context of a relationship, but it's another thing entirely to romanticize or ship it when we now have the knowledge and understanding that one of the individuals involved is a child.

Need your opinion on this

DISCLAIMER: I am a Daemyra shipper. Read with caution. I DONT ship them when Rhaenyra is a child & Daemon uses her against Viserys! but when they are older, even though (I-can't-see-I'm-blind sort of situation).

Firstly, what do people really mean when they say "endorse"? I know it may seem like splitting hairs, but to "endorse" vs to be okay with something or to like it are two different things. Because endorse means:

1. to approve openly [Merriam Webster] endorse an idea, especially: to express support or approval of publicly and definitely 2. to publicly or officially say that you support or approve of (someone or something) [Brittanica]

Basically to promote it as something people SHOULD do and are morally licensed to do if they so choose--to approve of it happening in future (near or far). To encourage people (real or fictional) to do it. And some Dameyra shippers, in my experience, do not do that--or PROMOTE/APPROVE of grooming (some are too okay with it and actually do, I'll give you that).

I think bc of what I mention later, there's an understanding that while there is not an ideal situation, it's happening bc of circumstances that are in a weird way percieved as wholesome nontheless. Rhaenyra and Daemon are an exception bec of the conditions they are in.

Finallly, at this point, GRRM, writes his relationships w/ or w/o the pleasure or advice of his fans as most published novel writers do. I cannot "encourage" or "promote" a thing already arranged if we are talking within the story--and of course, Daemyras tend to not "endorse" such relationships and abuses in real life. Yes, fiction can inspire people to do terrible things and has for years, esp w/how impressionable people can be or eager to find ways to justify their behavior. But would that also mean that we're laying responsibility off of the people who should be looking at a child-adult abuse as "sexy but refuse to and make as if they'd never be inclined to do stuff like this regardless of GRRM? It's a fine line, and I don't think the "answer" is to ignore how context and the progression of the story goes.

Because it does determine the quality of said troubling situation we're assessing, and said quality as GRRM has written is not an abuse tale. I also don't want to see grooming--the definition--lose its ssens of "purposeful predation to shape victim to one's own needs regardless of said victim's own needs, often turning them against their own family or support base for said domination".

Secondly, you're essentially asking why it isn't a dealbreaker? You could refer to my post HERE, but here it is in short:

Perhaps I'm going to be flowery, exhaustive, and "purple prosey" again, but I think it is basically that that very context creating the exploration of a tragedy of forces stronger than oneself. People love tragic tales, esp doomed ones. It's almost always validating in that there is a persistence of self against outside pressures that may or may not (but usually does) have said pressures be compulsions to conform against one's own happiness or authenticity, even and sometimes especially when the couple dies at the end. That in of itself is a sort of "resistance" that's supposed to coincide with GRRM's whole thing of "choosing life in spite of death" or "we found love in a hopeless place" sort of thing in ASoIaF, but for royals and in a royal iteration. And Daemon is ironically a haven in the midst of it but much more than Harwin was.

Rhaenyra's story is a doomed one not because she was the entire cause of the Dance or some evil temptress but bc the historical actions of her ancestors and the feudal-patriarchal system they all live under has already set up designs against women and those the women could use to occupy the positions granted to men. GRRM loves his tragic tales of love; look at Rhaelya! But they also tend to--long way forward--lead to strains of hope in later generations...which works to make the whole thing even more bitter sweet and melancholy. They also both buy into it of course, which certainly contributed, but from the jump we know these two will not succeed. So from there it's a thing of enjoying the couple as they are and what they serve in the narrative. Oh, and of course the true star is Dany, and Rhaenyra had to die for Dany's story to be what it was (death of the dragons, women subjugated, Targs losing their sense of self leading to the Rebellion).

When there is no or mostly and actively morally upright party like a Daenerys, humans will root for the most impressive, thrilling, or aesthetically beautiful story/characters/relationships that scratches that itch some. You can certainly whack GRRM for creating so many ships that are this too-taboo thing(s), but people are very prone to misleading some things about people-as-people that I think (even with the historical inaccuracies GRRM defends as "accurate" about ages when noble people married) the writer does convincingly capture between this "conversation" in his work about the relationship between environment and choice. At least for enough people that there is something to how he's doing it.

And then, yes, sometimes people will over-romanticize, and much more than I think you're imagining it, anon. I've read some fics...let's say that sometimes people feel the need to dramatically change the characters that always puts me off bec it erases what was "fun" about them in the first place.

Here it is written in another way:

A)

At risk of just repeating anon, the draw of Daemyra for a lot of people is that CONSIDERING THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND EVEN DESPITE/BECAUSE OF THEM, they had one of the most the strongest bonds for the longest time (and yes, even with Daemon loving Laena) in the orig story and they matched each others' drive/fire/pride (the last in all its meanings).

They seem (operative word here) to understand each other the most, were the most comfortable with each other, and were the others' biggest support.

Again, it's not exactly the incest but what the incest/age gap (IN THE CONTEXT GRRM CREATED) does for the bond that comes to be, the context of Targs distrusting other houses (often w/good reason but it's an imperfect situation) AND wanting to preserve a lost culture.

Daemon for all intents and purposes could have become a 100% perfect manifestation of patriarchal privilege and male pride: one of the best warriors of his time, access to one of the most formidable and impressive creatures through his state of birth, action-oriented but not opposed to using strategy tactics, nearly irresistible to women an attitude and inspiring enough to men both in the story and in the fandom with his charisma, blah blah. And he certainly still had all those things or was written that way.

The kickers are that he's forced to acknowledge his truer desires to support his family towards prosperity and survival--where his loyalty to Rhaenyra comes in--and those desires are so much a priority he basically shuns much else, or at least removes himself from that, and thus he cannot/does not bother to put on much airs or try to gain approval...which is a very common thing amongst nobility who often curry favor or imagine themselves to be "good" people because they follow an honor code. There's a "purity" to that, an shameless honesty that draws people in similar to how some people feel about Oberyn and Jaime. And it especially is very attractive to people who have quite a bit of shame themselves over love and sex (for whatever reason, religious shame, queer shame, female shame for sexuality and desiring a stronger partner even anyway) and are (at first or never) inclined to not to try to ennoble it but are lonely and looking for a story of a strong connection/ride or die.

That loyalty to Rhaenyra is a "flaw" that some men in the fandom never forgave GRRM for or are even aware of or accept as true.

Rhaenyra similarly could have been a 100% typical or ideal princess--either way, people wouldn't have liked her or found something to say was a damning "flaw" to say she deserved her fate-- and in some ways, she was. Loved wearing luxurious things and showing off her beauty, beautiful, fertile. But she's inplacably different from the ideal of Andal patriaechy because she is a dragon-rider of a "foreign" people-descent and has magic running through her. She also is not either bahaviorall/sexually demure nor sexually ashamed and self restrictive.

Rhaenyra "replaced" Daemon as heir, yet instead of really planning her downfall and committing to his ire against Viserys (yes after being forced away), he appears accept his subordinate position towards the middle and end of his life, even before they marry and fully commitsd to her without losing his own...je-ne-sais-quoi. Despite her loneliness and the surrounding doubt around her for being a female heir, Rhaenyra never seemed to seriously lose her belief in her right to occupy that sort of space and never demurred like some other female characters we (pre-the rise of YA fiction and the Capable+Alluring MC Girl/Woman) were familiar with WHILE not being that kind or good a person (the trope of a Steel-Under-Silk strong, Lady usually has the Lady be good or kind of selfless, sometimes to the point of self effacement).

Both had a sort of belief in themselves to a degree and under contexts that put off both readers and their own contemporaries--for different reasons...sometimes the same ones. that sort of symmetry is very appealing BECAUSE OF AND UNDER THE CONTEXT of a world and system (unequally, but the closest it's gotten and could get).

It's a very heady and attractive dynamic.

B)

The argument of "for the time/environment", I think, is for use of when we have people claim that some characters like Ceryse Hightower, Larra Rogare, Daemon, Viserys I are p*dophiles...when we have Robert Baratheon, Craster, Walder Frey, etc. right there. that they go out of their way to mess up children or teens bec they are genuinely want them for their teenhood/childhood. The childness (full knowledge of childness) is exactly what they (p*dos) aim for.

Sure, none of these characters do not and cannot have the exact same moral systems or values as real moderns (sometimes Western people) do...because they simply do not have that framework to live on and through. So automatically saying a character is a p*dp or a groomer can be hasty and inaccurate.

SOMETIMES (again, Walder, Craster, Robert, these were certified p*dos).

It requires one to think about what a groomer or a p*do really is. Which I've squared down to the person wanting to prey on what is known to them and everyone around them as a "child" or "too young" that is socially excluded from every practice and dynamic of sex and romance that adults are expected to participate with each other, and not with said child (or simply manipulate them away from their security/non-security to do so) because the "child" cannot develop psychologically/physically when said adults interrupt their development and/or make them think is one thing when it is the other.

Characters like Daemon, Viserys, etc. do not try to seek out what is recognized as "children" or "childlike" (and the "young maidens" or virgins the text states weirdly juxtaposes the lack of Daemon continuing said behavior into his adulthood, which true groomers/p*dos always do). All this is strictly against the idea of him being a "groomer", even though like other men and a few women, he gets into something with 14/15 yr old Rhaenyra...

HOWEVER, it is true that patriarchies tend to apply sex-purity values in ways that inevitably encourage attentions on teens (as these are the closest) AND this ALSO doesn't mean that GRRM wasn't/isn't trying to say that this is still a wrong thing for 111 A.C. Daemon to have done and that it wasn't screwy. (I think this is kinda what also "saves" it for some people, that the narrative acknowledges this particular crazy as crazy).

And just as with Dany and Drogo and the age revealed at her first pregnancy--even with Dany having been a bridal slave to Rhaenyra's princess and thus presenting a more visceral stake the latter doesn't have quite--determining how one sees Dany's regard for Drogo as blatant victim-mindset. For Daemyra, though, it's still not exactly the same and it's just that there isn't much for a claim, story-wise not life wise, of blatant you-know-what-it's.

There are about 4 main theories as to why Daemon of the bk does what he does with Rhaenyra:

he wanted to get back at Viserys for all the years of his ignorance and the recent event of his shipping Mysaria off only her her to lose what would have been Daemon's first kid (so a denial of person, position, and his own heir/family when he seemed to start trying to make himself after a long series of war in the Stepstones, also trying to make some "glory" for himself that Viserys--for him--keeps preventing or ruining)

he thought that the issues of succession Rhaenyra or even Viserys might have with the burgeoning greens, esp Otto, would be better handled if he forced Viserys to have him and Rhaenyra marry and combine lineages...tag him in, coach, he's been ready and you're not doing the job right, so let me in (ironically, I think this is very Visenya-coded...no one is going to be as competent and dedicated as me...just [ugh] with all the male trappings and privilege that shaped his...all that) -- a burgeoning storm they all had to prepare for, and he has to be there for them to survive -- he sees Rhaenyra at court surrounded by greens and is so offended he's even more determined--some might read "desperate"--to handle things even with such little...grace, shall we say

he was "tailoring" and "preparing" Rhaenyra to become more like the wife/partner that would make him most happy and rationalized that he would pay her back with his "hand" and sword, bc they were the best bet for their house...yeah...

when he got there and saw Rhaenyra in her "marriageable" state, he became attracted to her and similar to Laena and the duel, decided to "risk" the damage to his own rep...without letting himself think of the possible damage to Rhaenyra

or, ALL OF THE ABOVE...SOME OF THE ABOVE

Whatever Daemon did with her/to her (sex, kissing, near-sex, groping, etc., we don't know what happened but I think it was either sex or something that looked like it would definitely lead to that), it wasn't based on a habit and intention of straight up p. More so him being very selfish, continuing the pattern of Targ men Targ-menning against their female counterparts. Using Rhaenyra against Viserys, putting his foot down, whatever.

Therefore he was still abusing his experience and relation with her, the "child-not-child-who-should-have-been-seen-as-a-child-but-wasn't-bc-society-and-patriarchal-selfishness/advantage".

So I don't fault or perfectly disagree with people who say "groomer!" After all, their priority is not allowing other crazy people or out already-male-scorched world in further footholding for nonsense in the real world. Can't call them stupid or morally incorrect for that or being concerned. There's a child that should have been separated from these practices of sex with adults, after all.

However, I still think there's a misunderstanding of what's being conveyed by the text versus what such a thing would be in real life (Watsonian vs Doylist) AND we can't stop ourselves form writing or showing even the odd and taboo or genuinely concerning stuff when there's something to be shown/told.

It changed to what it needed to be, became what was its potential, AND Rhaenyra was set to marry someone else (before the confirmation that it was always gonna be Laenor, and she didn't know it was him until last minute) who she would likely never be able to trust because of her position, men, yada yada. Might as well be someone she cared/trusted more than anyone else for her entire life and we know would not go out of his way, even shift for someone he thought was "worthy", and whoo-boy, was Rhaenyra "worthy" to Daemon. Again, refer to the doomed narrative.

Now Daemon here is so not a good guy if he:

was willing to use his own about-to-married-off-and-subiect-to-purity-politics-standard-that-could-affect-her-reputation both as a girl/woman-as-a-female-heir niece in this way, even if it was after Viserys basically caused him and Mysaria to lose their first kid and came after years of Viserys basically ignoring Daemon--Daemon's eyes, bk and show--in favor of a man who could never hope to be as loyal as Daemon....IN FACT, THIS PROVES HE WAS NEVER THE "GOOD" GUY (I'm yelling at some fics)

prioritizes "sameness" and it comes off as arrogance--"only people like me can handle all this"...however, he'd be not totally incorrect (just annoying to some, charming to others, a little bit of both and feeding-into-each-other for others-others). He's not only a person who grew up, like both female and male nobles, value having the highest classed and prestigious person as a potential mate even if it may contradict "obedience" and he like others wishes to, he also. Again, the appeal of SYMMETRY. And sameness (albeit, in lesser degrees) does have an importance in how many people define what their ideal partner is. Not have the same hobbies or ways and color of dress, but values. Which Rhaenyra and Daemon have the potential of to the max.

If a potential partner's "worth" to be of a certain category or class...but it's fun to see shamelessness at a point (the limit is of course potential grooming) AND such shamelessness works to, again, support said female character bc it's a great pair to loyalty, which Rhaenyra needs a lot of and assurance of from.

And, no, I don't think she got enough of that from Harwin for all that she did love him (if they did become lovers...but I know you know they were, come on now). Those two had to hide; Rhaenyra's not a hider, not where it doesn't concern her kids' safety at least.

C)

Ironically those assurances come from the reversed--or at least done a little topsy turvy--familial relations, feudal constraints, AND the reality of Targaryens being both a part of this society but also not really on part because of their dragons/innate magicness but also because they are the ruling family.

They are apart from most people around them and find more things in common between themselves, us against the world (yes, in the bk, too); isolated always--unless you're like Rhaena, Dreamfyre's 1st rider, who could and did find female friends everywhere and discovered more freedom and comfort in them through their woman-ness than anyone in her family...but even then, she was more or less emotionally isolated just by being such a woman and a Targ, and the male stink still manages to encroach its way in through Androw Farman and the love she had for Androw's father/her lover's love for said Androw. and as royals, they are by social definition not in physical proximity, thus not as easier seen as any more than political figures/leaders. I mean, sure, we might say "boo hoo", and we'd not be totally wrong, but there is still an effect of treating people not like people that humans have never been able to rein in, and it's important to how the Targs handled many things and were perceived, thus how they responded--queue Jaehaerys I. When we especially talk about the costs to oneself and to how others treat you under the nonphysical protections of power. Whether for good or ill.

Contrast to Jaehaerys and Alysanne, who, thought GRRM notes as one of the greatest pairs, also end up separated by Alysanne's & Jaehaerys' fights over their children's safety and places in the succession, with the obvious running line of it going back to misogyny for the sake of assimilating/holding power instead of using it for making the said society a little better/a lot better.

Contrast to Daario and Daenerys (yes, yes, why would I compare PoV character's observations of a person vs a history book, we get it), Daemyra/RoguesDelight has Daemon knowing and giving more suggestion of longevity bc it's suggested in the text that he had access to the most intimate stirrings of Rhaenyra's head (final letter at Maidenpool as well as all I said above) in a way Daario never did or wanted to with Dany. Oh, of course Daario knew Dany loved her people, was lonely, was all that and the 3rd; but I trump that up to be his observation of what she needed and wanted so he could indulge in being with such a woman and profit from it. Even though he wasn't exactly terrible or whatever, or impatient. This is far from Dany's fault, tbc. Daario is gonna Daario. But, as one person kind brilliantly explained about Dany being a goddess in Twitter:

Part of her struggles is w being dehumanized as a symbol of power but she constantly subverts that by placing the weight of her responsibility/influence into liberating ppl.

Jaehaerys I sorta sets himself and his later scions, by contrast, even with it having had the desired effect of getting people off his back about sibling incest. So does Aegon I, tbh, when while it left the Targs the ability to adapt to their necessities concerning succession, his and his sons leaving it open to duking-it-out...then Aegon named heir over Rhaena...made way for the first stone against women in their house....those most necessarily it seems (after the Dance).

Anyway, they were pretty solid until Rhaenyra's kids started falling like dominoes and were caught in a deceit.

D)

I remember an ask I got once about Daemon showing Rhaenyra explicit imagery in S1E4, where anon said that him doing so proves he is a groomer in the show, where Rhaenyra is 19 instead of 14-15. An adult but just barely AND a lot of people hold that grooming--nonsexual, too--can happen to people to people as old as 34. Personally, I think that the latter is more general manipulation more than "grooming", but I digress and it doesn't really work for 18-20 year olds and up, who again, are practically teenagers.

But I brought up my misgivings about Daemon wanting to abuse children/children adjacent for its own sake already, and it's less evident in the show where the show makes it a point that he wanted Rhaenyra at most stages of her life (when again, she wouldn't be a child-child to them, scowl at GRRM, not me):

the beach scene in S1E7 with adult Rhaenyra, we all saw them heave for each other

we hear/see nothing of his messing with too-young girls after said marriage...the narrative implies he was likely imagining it as some "perfect" Valyrian bride...who happens to be around the same age as state as his niece (still problematic for all the implications of Rhaenyra's significance to him----both in the nature of sex work affecting women/girls AND we really didn't need to hear of that without proving how old those girls usually were to be so used like this as proxies…this is where I personally would have rolled my sorry self out) -> -> -> the probable immediate recall of Jorah doing similar with Dany OR simply Mysaria's observation of this unconscious/repressed desire/teasing him and show!Daemon never having actually done these things -> -> -> of course this could be due to any number of reasons, like his frustrations with Viserys manifesting in looking for a companion in the closest person possible more than that sort of desire

Mysaria: What troubles you, my Prince? I could bring in another. Perhaps a maiden. I have several. I could even arrange one with silver hair. [pause]

This included language of "could" and "perhaps" and "even" (as if this were a thing that she knows it's out of the ordinary) plus her solicitousness to meet his silence and disappeared enthusiasm indicates that show!Daemon was not in the habit of messing w/very young sex workers as bk!Daemon is rumored and told (A Question of Succession):

"and was said to have an especial fondness for deflowering maidens"

Language is important these types of documents. We're given an entire description of his philandering and the contrast of "he sampled" (definite, final, statement-to-not-be-doubted), but there is room with "was said" for Daemon to not have gone around this particular act of seeking out virgin girls. Like how one would say now "I heard such and such also went pulling people's pants down after Marcus saw him go into a strip club" or "people say that Marsha went to Payless for her prom shoes".

Active ("he sampled") vs passive voice ("he[...]was said") can be pretty important to indicate what def happened vs what people believed and could have happened but was never proven. But what do I know, I'm just a probably too-biased Daemyra shipper (this genuinely was not to be snarky, really, you can take or leave my points).

For me, it's more when Rhaenyra & Daemon both get older that they shine and I "approve" or really most enjoy Rouges Delight (bk ship name some have taken to call Daemyra) whatever you want to name and distinguish the couple. (SHOWWISE, I prefer their younger interations [pre E6, S1] not bc Emma is a bad actor--they re not, they're just underutilized and Rhaenyra is written so...terribly that I can never get as into it...I liked Daemyra when they reconciled in S2, for example, but I hated how they got there and not bc of "the ship is sinking" but bec it genuinely was not written well and depended on diminishing both characters). I'm not, however, out here trying to say that anyone else should love this ship, this couple, this story just as much as I don't really mind people not getting into GRRM's writing.

The 111 A.C. issue, there is a certain odd quality it of being obviously out of line and manipulative...while evidence of being a convergence of long-held tension, a beginning towards an inevitable outcome years down the line. SYMMETRY and good writing.

I suspect that part of the appeal for some is that push-pull of the delight of "matching freaks and the moral conflict of "but....he's her uncle and he's 2x her age and/or they probably did things when she was way too young", but that's a whole other thing. It keeps people engaged and is perfectly symptomatic of that quality of medievalesque/historical fiction, sure, but bc humans love to play with taboos in fiction...to a certain point. (Personally, again, it is that later timeline that "saved" Daemon for me, as flawed as that may be.) They can indulge in the curiosity of the play of "what ifs" GRRM writes and the subsequent quandaries safely in fiction without getting openly judged & misunderstood for wanting such stories.

Sometimes we "play" too close to the sun, though, I admit.

So unless someone's gone off the deep end trying to say that they wouldn't be bothered by a 15 yr old and her 2x older uncle smooching in real life, or try to deny that Daemon was performing, it really doesn't discomfit me that much in the grander scheme of things.

And at the same time, again, I can't blame HotD for uping Rhaenyra's age AND people for just not jiving or hating the ship just as there are those who cannot ever get into ASoIaF for the incessant (to them, too often unpunished by the narrative) incest even outside of the Targs alone. And I get how this is just not going to be enough or that he later is her strongest supporters is enough for a lot of people. But I do want the air cleared a bit and explain the position from where I'm standing. Could change, but I dunno about that.

Perhaps this all too biased a breakdown. I warned ya.

YOU SELECTED: CIRCLE SKIRT

not gonna lie, this one surprised me a little!!! (or, the fact it was such a clear winner did anyway!) you wont hear me complaining though, i LOVE a circle skirt, theres just something about the way they move that no other skirt shape seems to match, no matter how much fabric is in it. i hope youre looking forward to pattern cutting shenanigans way down the line, the lay plan for this is gonna be Weird....

Moving on from skirts, its time to think about what the top of this dress might look like.....

(for the purposes of this poll, a shirt dress is going to refer to anything with a button front closure and a collar of some kind)

Heres just a handlful of examples of what a shirt dress Could look like- shirt dresses were a super popular style for casual 50's style dresses, and ive had making one on my list for a while (i actually have a green duvet cover earmarked to make one one day i think, though in my research for this ive seen a super cool dress i might take inspo from for it instead, esp if this becomes a shirt dress) i love all the different options for collars & sleeve styles you can pick from, all the places you can have a fun little accent! i could pick fun matching or contrast buttons, there could be some trim around the collar or the button stand.... theres so many ways to play around with this!

another pro of the shirt dress is specific to the fact were making a circle skirt. one thing on the negative side of the shirt dress is that center front seam, splitting the pattern completely in half at the best spot to see it in all its glory- however as i mentioned in the skirt post, with this fabric, the way i cut the circle skirt is probably gonna be a bit weird, and its going to leave me with a whole bunch of odd shaped pieces that will probably benefit from smaller individual pattern pieces that shirt dresses have (i cannot say for certain until im working on my layout, though, and i have none shirt dress ideas that will do this too, but! its definitely something to note) it'd also be a way to make the center front seam the circle skirt will probably have seem more intentional into the design (though again, i have ways to combat that in the case that we dont go this way)

howeverrrrr i am very on the fence about a shirt dress being the right way to take this project. again, shirt dresses are a super popular casual style! but in that way, i worry itll be harder to style in a way that seems more formal- especially with the print and fabric combination (ive definitely seen more formal reading shirt dresses, but they tend to be boosted by the fabric choices, satins or taffetas, things that seem fancier in general) i would like to get some "nice occasion" wear out of this dress if i can, and i think that may be harder this way.

Also, i already own so many blouses, it might be better to have something that brings a different silhuette into my wardrobe. although i do wear those blouses the most, so it also might be ideal to make something that emulates styles im already drawn to.

on the other hand, the options are truly endless if we dont go towards a shirt dress. these images are just a handful of the other style options ive seen out there- not to mention, the backs! i am deeply fond of the classic wide & high necklines that have a deep V into the back- in fact i already have a pattern that could work for this particular style. really, its pointless for me to start elaborating on what other options there are because literally anything you can imagine, we could do.

All For One, like many other individuals, has non-violent hobbies. Said hobbies result in him trying to troll quirk analyst SmallMight41 online and getting repeatedly (and accidentally) wrecked in the process.

izuku getting the chance to spar with afo, even mentally, is one of the best gifts of fandom. i love seeing izuku winning and afo seething. this fic had me intrigued, in awe, and on tenterhooks the whole time i was reading.

Percy opened his mouth to object that wasn’t what happened at all, but the tyrant only waved a hand to silence him. “He’s seen war or whatever, so if you could maybe just drug him then I’ll throw him into a suitcase and we can be out of here by the Summer Solstice!” Silence. Finally, the woman cleared her throat and turned to Percy. “I’m guessing he’s the one you want checked into the mental hospital?” She asked. Triton gasped as Percy punched the air in victory. “Aha!” Or Getting in trouble works a little differently when your parent is an all-powerful god. Sometimes you have to escape to the land beyond gods and get your immortal brother turned human to drag you back so you can be exploded a million pieces. You know, normal teenage stuff.

one of my favourite fics of all time, ive read this so many times. So Many Times. ao3 says 37 and i believe it. there is comedy, there is angst, and the emotional beats are to die for. 11/10 would recommend.

Anon don't project what you think of the members as how jm must be feeling, you think they're just co-worker and he's got "real" frnds outside when you don't know that. he's spent 11+ yrs around them, the first ones he made after coming here and still together. They're more than just co-workers for him. I don't like any of them apart from jin,hobi and RM occasionally doens't mean I'm gonna think that's how jm feel towards them.

People just want them to return the same energy as jm gives them, pjms would have acted same way if it were frnds outside the group. Beacuse we want him to get love the way he deserves and gives others cause we're not around him but these people are and we want him to have all the support and love from people around him in person. Pjms thanked V when he asked jm to come to his fanmeet cause intentions be damned but pjms were happy that the crowd sang happy birthday for jimin, they were happy cause he got to be near fans which jm loves the most also because jm was the only one who didn't get to have a fanmeet like that before it. Despite many of them not liking tae they made thanked him in their posts. It's all about giving and taking. You give respect to someone you expect same in return. It's also all about his happiness. Jimin's birthday is the biggest bday celebrated by fans out of any other idols/celebraties in sk including all the members all beacuse pjms wants him to feel loved.

Also another reason pjms talk about it sometimes is because other solos use jimin's kindness and his support to drag him. Even that day they were making tweets like "jm is so pathetic no one wants him" which pjms hate that others use his kindness against him. Like look at jjks they have been using jm's kindness towards jk as a hyung against jm for a decade saying jm is always after jk and what not.

Both of these sentiments have truth. When I refer to members that are lacking I’m almost always specifically referring to TGK. And I’ve said before that I don’t expect much from those 3, but that’s still not gonna stop me from wanting them to be better towards Jimin considering how much he seems to still value their friendship. How ever “wishing for rain in a desert” that is. That’s really the only reason I care about it cause Jimin’s too good to/for them anyway. I also believe that BTS have never been just “coworkers”. There are groups where you can tell that they’re not close and are just together because they have to be, but BTS never gave that. Dynamics have definitely shifted in the group, but I still do genuinely believe they’re all friends.

I don’t care what other solos have to say in regards to jimin’s unconditional kindness. They relish in the idea of the member they stan being self centered assholes while at the same time still expecting jimin to kiss their ass. Especially jjks. Jimin being a good person is not a weakness and I’m certainly not trying to get TGK to properly reciprocate it so they don’t have anything to drag Jimin for on that front.

thinking a lot about goddess hunter and how it is somehow implied in the game, it's such an important concept for me you know

[spoilers ahead]

when fashioning this new look for hunter the things i kept in mind were silhouette, aesthetic and storytelling

silhouette

looking at the characters of the game all the humanoids, esp godslayer and hunter, have simple yet solid outlines, nothing wow but get the job done (godslayer is very strong in this point since he's always present with a high character/background contrast)

when doing this kind of study i just block the format of the character from different perspective poses, but for my surprise hunter already had one ingame and it has very helpful to see not how i could read hunter, but how the devs see her

she's basically boots, "skirt" and a long ponytail, pretty simple

aesthetics

this part is actually more intertwined with storytelling than i give credit for but i want to make storytelling about another more specific topic,in short the aesthetic is already established ingame

hunter is undoubtedly sided with the tall ones, so it would not be strange if her godly appearance resembled the many priests we see dead all over the island (hunter is in fact pretty much a priestess if you think about a bit, wears the spirit mask, communicates with the tall ones, is a spirit walker, and there's another aspect to it that i will discuss later)

some of them have a circular plate on the head with an eye in the center; they wear the spirit mask and have head and all face covered; they wear some kind of robe, baggy pants and simple shoes and have most part of the body covered as well with hands as exception, they also use jewellery near the mask/head and (im not sure if all of them or just some) wear a cape

(also idk if it is just a impression of mine, but the priests models feel big compared to let's say the working/simpler people, they feel >tall< which, if true, would highlight even more their proximity to the divine, the tall ones, and even explain why they are represented taller than other humans in murals)

this is where i start expanding the closet, it's a bit straight forward when thinking about what to adapt to hunter, the robe reads very similar to hunters silhouette and she also wears the spirit mask, another important aspect is that she also covers her face, the jewellery has also a nice touch

the eye plate on top of the head unfortunately dont read well nor i think speaks to hunter, the cape is no novelty and doesnt help hunter particularly (and i had a cooler idea for her hehe)

storytelling

i want hunter to reflect who she is and what she's part of, ofc most part of the aesthetic part already does this, but there's another essencial aspect, her color palette

it's has been the hardest topic so far for me cause hunter base colors dont reflect a lot? (probably i just didnt get what they mean just yet)

she is mainly black/red on what i think is a 45/45 perhaps too even proportion and white/blue on a 5/5 proportion

for my goddess hunter i take the idea of godslayer and hunter being parallels to each other very serious, so they partake in similar aspects almost all the time and "differences" occur because of correlative nature between the two (example: if godslayer has this orange accent, then hunter's should be blue (complementary))

another aspect that i consider is how divinity is seen in the island: if you give another look at the priests, you can see they are quite similar to godslayer, but plot wise what happens is the inverse

godslayer is the one that looks similar to the priests bc that's HIS (and the people of the island) reference of what is considered elevated, but he also is distinct because his divinity is distorted, just look at his head, it is twisted compared to the priests, probably based of his own view of what was godly

another little but interesting fact is the face covering, it's something that commoners dont do (not even godslayers "priests", probably because the only holy one was godslayer himself and no one else), the only ones that cover the face are the tall ones priests, godslayer... and hunter

(*cough cough* remember when i said she was implied to be a goddess? i told you)

objectively all of this represents godhood and so i wanted it to make it a big part when thinking about my hunter

eventually i reached this take (but it could have gone anywhere really): i made hunter very similar to godslayer, for a couple of reasons (ba dum tiss)

i will be totally honest to say that it was an easier approach to it cause most of the idea is already settled in an established character, so you can just take it and make small transformations, but i had other reasons too

most important, narrative parallels between godslayer and hunter, they are two characters that fundamentally are not that different, tho in the surface being almost opposite forces, and this is precious to me, so their appearances should reflect that

less relevant but also impactful is that, no matter what, this human godhood is portrayed as bad, even if it's a good person, in hunter's case; it's unnatural and should not happen (and when it happens it's an exceptional occurrence), by making hunter look like godslayer i also include a bit of this meaning too (and that in the end not even hunter is immune to corruption)

at last, all this rambling got me this result

there's still a lot of room for improvement but for early explorations i think they are enough

in short, i redistributed hunter color palette, making the black/red proportion around 15/80 and the other 5 are split between white and blue (just in the eye really) and her clothes are mostly based on the priests (bc after all she's the tall ones frend :D) and the rest is just godslayer 2.0 really

all of these fill the silhouette topic but the cherry on top came when i had the idea of using a piece of cloth to replace her long ponytail cause it's one of her main marks >:3

now i need to draw her with the moon bow to make the complete package

Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

Stuart Little (1999) -- Michael J. Fox, which also rocked my world to discover O_O like hearing it now I'm like "yeah thats him alright" but as a kid I would never have been able to tell you that was the same guy from that time travel movie, despite watching both way too much LMBO

I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !

Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

If you could describe your year in a BTTF quote, which one would it be?

The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

About hair…

TIG’s best hair is in Crackerjack in my opinion, bar none. He looked so handsome there with that floppy cut it’s not even funny. Also really loved the shorter, salt n’ pepper look in that movie where he goes to Poland or something (and he’s a cop). Super handsome and also distinguished! I have mixed feels about the Excessive Force hair (not a fan of mullets, but TIG’s such a looker so…). Also liked his hair in Escape from Alaska and silver fox look in The Kidnapping/Black Friday.

Might be an unpopular hot take, but my all time favorite “Daniel” look is in Cuba and His Teddy Bear as Teddy. What a total doll, the messy, shaggy hair just WORKS for him because it frames his face and brings out how very pretty he really is, how dark and expressive his eyes are. Another hot take—the Naked in New York haircut only looks good from certain angles. From the front it looks not so good, and sets weird, though from the side/profile it looks great.

That is a a good choice - crackerjack and I think Black Friday is my fav Silver Fox Look 🤔

I like Behind Enemy Lines and Beyond Forgiveness really deserves more love than it gets.

Ulterior Motives - but I think that’s just adorable because it’s his wife as his costar.

SVSSS danmei novel review post

So I had a winter break and finished reading SVSSS and here are some of my thoughts about it.

DISCLAIMER: this as an analysis post and if you might get upset over criticism of the novel, please stop reading. My intend is definitely NOT to send hate but do a review.

Disclaimer number 2: I'm a danmei fan and have read mdzs, tgcf and 2ha so I have some point of reference for comparison

Starting up with the things I LOVED about the novel:

The idea is popular, but the author made it have an interesting twist (ridiculing the genre of something you wright right at the moment is a gigachad move fr fr)

The plot is interesting and entertaining, the novel is easy to read and follow

There is a good part of humour that I enjoyed (the whole Tianlang-jun bit lol)

Characters are well-written in general (even tho I raise an eyebrow at some of them)

I absolutely adore MoShang couple. Them being a tsundere and a gremlin is very fun and I liked the extras showing the development of their relationship. The whole bit where MBJ openly says hitting a person is the way he sees flirting and SQH being oblivious that his own ideas of courting made MBJ convinced he's flirted with too is hilarious. SQH not only creating himself his perfect man but also pulling him for sure makes him a god in their world lol

Another unofficial couple I grew to like is LiuShen aka LQG and SQQ. Ngl I was oblivious to the chemistry they have - "They are such good friends!" as historians would say LOL. But after spending some time in the fandom I think I adore them a lot (esp after finishing this one extra where it's obvious LQG is convinced they are soulmates and is gay af lmao)

Now, on the other side, criticising the novel.

My problem is that the novel seems way too short?? The whole plot is to fill plot-holes but the novel itself seems to have a plenty of them:

We don't know anything about the System, why it works, who created it and for which purpose?

The fact that Binghe doesn't even know SQQ is not his real shizun?? I really expected some confrontation in the end and stuff but bro just lies to his husband till the rest of their lifes now ig?? I was really looking forward to see this and LBH thinking he's betrayed again but we never got it, not even in extras. We got a little hint when SQQ couldn't explain LBH how he knows so much about what will happen, but this seemed to just be sweeped under a rug in the end.

The novel is too short, there are so many interesting plot-lines to explore and possible scenes to write but extras only explore already existing dynamics and seem to be cut-outs / behind-the-scene stuff the author probably just decided to not put in. Half the time I was sitting there and thinking about the fact that someone definitely wrote a fanfic about this or that fact

I've read other mxtx novels and tgcf, for example, felt complete to the point I didn't even read extras, as it felt like the story is whole and finished.

Another problem I have with the novel is that some very important info about characters is still hidden in extras, for example:

The fact that LBH acts like this with SQQ because SQH himself got him the idea?? I really thought bro is a cry-baby LOL (call me SQQ bc of how delusuional I am). The way SQH not only pulled his dream man but helped the story progress with LBH pulling HIS dream man is AWESOME and I wish it was in the main novel part.

Another extra-hidden part I wish wasn't hidden, is the fact that SQH was always thinking about og Shen Yuan and that's why they end up actually being friends, it feels like an important bond was kinda lost in the finished novel.

All in all, I enjoyed reading SVSSS but understand why it's not as popular as mdzs or tgcf. This is everything I got at the moment, thank you for reading!

You know when you say a character and the first person that comes to your head...i think esp with obey me, there are so many media out there, that represents the 7 demons.

For example when you think of Lucifer? The first pops into my head would be a blond haired but obey me Lucifer.

Weird.. and also fun, this goes without saying, like when I picture Lilith obey me white eyes and white hair,

Like Michael everyone in the fandom agrees that Michael has long hair and blue eyes, but for me Adam from spn, or matt cohan with bluish eyes

I'm doing well, I hope things are good with you! And thank you! Honestly I just use the follower count as an excuse to do events lol.

You know, I'm so Obey Me obsessed that right now that's the first thing I think of whenever I hear any reference to any other versions of the characters. It's happened before where I'm scrolling through Tumblr and someone says something about Satan and I'm like I don't remember that... no wait. They mean like Satan from the real world lol. Oops.

However, before Obey Me was a thing I even knew about, I always had a tendency to imagine Lucifer with black hair when I was thinking of him having a human form. I often imagined him with goat horns and legs and bat wings and the whole thing lol. Kinda Krampus style but with more red. But the more human looking version of him always had black hair in my mind for some reason.

I loooove all the Lilith designs I've seen, but I am absolutely on board with white haired Lilith. I never really considered her eyes but white eyes would certainly be interesting too!

I think with Michael, my Obey Me version of him is different from how I would think of him outside of Obey Me. When I wrote the little story for the anon who requested Michael (here), I gave him long blond hair and blue eyes with some opal in them. But that's because all of the angels in the game have the blue eyes with a little bit of yellow in them, so it was just a variation on that. And I dunno blond hair made sense to me. But I've seen some excellent Michael fan designs that I love where he looks completely different! I do hope they give us a good design when he finally shows up!

But outside of Obey Me, I tend to think of Michael as more of a classic Biblical Jesus looking guy... brown hair, brown eyes, with a beard and glasses... for some reason?? I have no idea where that's coming from lol. I really don't know why my brain imagines him that way, but I must have picked it up from somewhere??

Maybe these are all just amalgams of all the versions of these characters that I've seen or read about in various medias over the years? It's certainly interesting to think about the first version of them that comes into your head!

No, you didn't miss anything on my ao3. I've just been going through an Anakin whump phase on my tumblr lately (with answers to asks and miscellaneous posts and fanart -- some of which I already deleted when they got 0 notes, including a fanart I posted today. So even if you go looking, you wouldn't find all of them). So because of that, whether or not it's true, it personally feels like ppl aren't interested in certain things I'm excited about (tho the like.... three or four people who have shown interest, tyvm). And I'm really grateful to everyone who has read my fics on ao3. If I didn't have that huge bewildering amount of support to fall back on, I'm sure I'd be a lot worse off. So I greatly appreciate that. And at the very least, if all else fails, my mom will show support for all of my posts/fanart/fics lmao. Anyway, so I'm well aware lots of ppl dont have those things to rely on, so I'm hella not trying to take them for granted. ❤️ I'm very grateful and feel very lucky that so many people have said such kind and heartfelt things about my writing.

But there are certain things I still carry a lot of shame for liking. No one could ever make me feel ashamed about 5PE, but my biggest dream is to one day draw Anakin dubconnishly sucking Palpatine's dick. And my favorite fic universe to fantasize abt rn is the Vader Mpreg one. And those are things I do feel ashamed for liking at times. So when those are the things I post (currently on tumblr) that get 0 attention (esp when other things are getting attention), it sorta starts to reinforce the shame I'm already feeling.

Like, I spent 8 hours yesterday drawing that fanart I posted (which I deleted a few minutes ago). I skipped dinner and stayed late at work for 2 hours on Friday to finish writing this post on my work computer (bc my personal pc crashes if i try to make tumblr posts). Did I make either post to get notes? No. It was fun for me. Just the process of it was fun for me. I enjoyed myself so much!!! Totally worth it.

But do I regret posting them publicly instead of just keeping them for myself and my friends? ... Honestly, yeah, I kinda do.

Probably people did like the posts but are afraid to be seen liking things so dark and deranged. And like, that's okay, because I'm brave, I'm super brave, and I will be the first to post any deranged content out of any group of people. But I have limits, too. And if people are willing to read 5PE or shadow AU but not willing to read about Vader's uterus, then I start to feel less brave. :/ And I start to become demoralized over other things too.

Like, I was set to post chapter 10 of 5PE this weekend, but I haven't been able to work on it. Every Shadow, being less dark, is even harder to work on. Because if my perception is that ppl find me sick and grotesque and deranged for my most fucked up ideas (that's my perception, not necessarily reality), then it hurts to have my tamer content be supported instead.

Is that fair to yall? No, not at all. Am I trying to guilt trip anyone? Absolutely not. It's just a current unfortunate reality that's bumming me out, and there's not much anyone can do to change it. I just gotta let the feelings run their course.

Anyway thanks for reaching out anon. I feel better having been able to air all of this. Though I'll probably still step away to some extent (how long? who knows. The depressive episode will decide. But prob not for that long.
