23 Republican Senators & 124 Congressmen signed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court asking for a 50 state ban on mifepristone, a drug safer than tylenol that is standard treatment for abortion & miscarriages, "due to safety concerns". The brief DARES to argue that banning the life saving drug would save women from 'reproductive control'. (x) These 147 people would rather have women die of sepsis than let women control their own bodies. If your representatives are on this list, call them and tell their office you will be voting against them in the next election because they asked SCOTUS to throw the US medical drug system into chaos at the cost of American lives.

The creator and director of The Chosen is teaming up with the studio behind the Jesus Revolution to make a popular children's book into a holiday movie.
Dallas Jenkins recently announced that Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company are bringing to the big screen a movie adaptation of Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
Jenkins will write and direct the film, which will be in theaters next holiday season.
"This is a dream come true and the movie I've most wanted to make my whole career. And I wouldn't want to do it with anyone other than Lionsgate and Kingdom, who make great movies while supporting filmmakers," Jenkins said on YouTube.
"Based on the beloved book and play, The Best Christmas Paegeant Ever centers on the Herdmans –absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world. But this Christmas, they're taking over their local church Pageant – and they just might unwittingly teach a shocked community the true meaning of Christmas," Lionsgate said in a press release.
The Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company's adaptation of the book will begin production next month in Canada.
Jenkins told the Desert News that he and his wife, Amanda, fell in love with the book while reading it to their children nearly 15 years ago.
While reading it, they started weeping," he told the outlet.
In a video to fans, the couple showed their well-worn copy of the book with his notes scribbled in the back.
"It's similar to what 'The Chosen' is trying to do, actually, to take the story of Christmas and the story of Jesus and take it down from stained glass windows and pretty paintings and Mary as this glowing halo angel holding a precious little baby and…revealing what it actually is in the eyes of these kids," Jenkins shared.
youtube
The production will build on the strong partnership between Kingdom and Lionsgate. The companies most recent movie, Jesus Revolution, grossed over $50 million at the box office.
The studios next film will be Ordinary Angels, starring Hilary Swank. It is set for release to theaters on Feb. 23, 2024, followed by Unsung Hero, starring for King + Country's Joel Smallbone. The film will be released April 26, 2024.
"With the incredible response to Jesus Revolution, we are thrilled to continue working with our partners at Lionsgate to bring trusted and inspiring content to screen. With Ordinary Angels and Unsung Hero releasing at the top of the year, we're delighted to partner with Dallas Jenkins on The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, rounding out the year with a holiday film we're confident will become a new family favorite," Kingdom Story's Kevin Downes said.
Lionsgate recently acquired the global distribution rights to The Chosen and has already distributed it on Peacock, CW, and Prime Video, where it has been a top ten series since the launch of the third season earlier this year.
The fourth season will debut in theaters next February.
"The passion and vision Dallas has for this story is infectious – and to show him how we believe in the project as much as he does, we turned the Lionsgate restaurant into a holiday wonderland for him," said Lionsgate president of Production Erin Westerman. "We believe he will deliver a holiday perennial that will be fun for the whole family next holiday season."
Jenkins said his vision is to make this film "a new Christmas classic."
The Best Christmas Pageant has sold over seven million copies since its publication in 1972.

Sound Off: 10 New Songs You Need to Hear Now It's impossible to be across all the new music out each Friday. Luckily, PAPER is here to help you out: each week, we round up 10 of our favorite new songs from artists — emerging and established — to soundtrack your life. From the surreal to the sublime, these songs cover every corner of the music world. The only criteria: they all have to absolutely rip.Lana Del Rey — "Fishtail" For my money, this is one of the best – if not the best – cut from Lana Del Rey’s sublime ninth album Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. Although it has the hazed-out, psychedelic tenor of an Ultraviolence cut, its alienation is ratcheted up with washes of acidic, fragmented autotune – a cannily destabilizing production choice. NEW YORK — "night n day" This extremely ungoogleable duo is one of my favorite new acts to have emerged last year – don’t sleep on their debut album No Sleep Til NY – and “night n day” retains the disorienting atmosphere of that record: It sounds like your sleep paralysis demon dressed up in its most glittery club outfit and decided to have a night on the town. BIA and Timbaland — "I'M THAT BITCH" Although drill isn’t BIA’s main mode, she sounds great over this sleek, sinewy drill beat, proving just how far she can expand her aesthetic horizons without losing a sense of her identity.Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro — "BESO" Aside from the very splashy real-life metanarrative of this song – Rauw and Rosalía announced their engagement in the song’s video – this is a gorgeously romantic opener to the pair’s sublime new joint EP RR.Shygirl and Björk — "Woe (I See It From Your Side)" Björk totally makes this Shygirl track her own, retaining the song’s breathy, industrial atmosphere while ratcheting up the song’s tension and alienesque cast. Related | Shygirl Discovers Her Ultimate Fantasy on 'Nymph'Mega Bog — "Love Is" Mega Bog, aka Erin Birgy, gets an assist from Westerman on this vast, skyward-looking synth-pop track, a song that places the inquisitive, wide-eyed Birgy firmly at the center of the dance floor. JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown — "Steppa Pig" Although much of JPEGMafia and Danny Brown’s new collab album Scaring the Hoes is an abrasive, spectacular adrenaline rush, there’s also an intricacy and grandiosity to the production that shines through — "Steppa Pig" is a perfect example.Related | JPEGMAFIA Is Doing It All WrongDaft Punk with Todd Edwards — "The Writing of Fragments of Time" This cut from the new Random Access Memories 10th-anniversary box set is, like the immortal “Giorgio by Moroder," a song about the making of a song – a kind of documentary in the form of a sublime disco track.yunè pinku — "Sports" Another sleek, stylish heater from Yunè Pinku: “Sports” is as vaporous as it is embodied, somehow existing in two states of matter at once. It’s an ingratiating, sing-songy teaser for her new EP Babylon IX.Flo Milli with Monaleo and Gloss Up — "Bed Time" Emasculation-rap dream team Flo Milli and Monaleo reunite on this hard-as-nails new track that recalls 2000s classics. As ever, this track is a wealth of perfect one-liners — the "shout out to Santa" burn might be my favorite.Photo courtesy of Interscope Records https://www.papermag.com/sound-off-lana-del-rey-2659651605.html

Mega Bog feat. Westerman - “Love Is”
Tumblr media
It is easy to say what you want, but it’s another thing to truly put that energy into the universe. “Love Is”, the second single from Mega Bog’s forthcoming sixth full-length effort, End of Everything, is an invitational to a power greater than one’s self, but at the same time, can only come from the self. Resoundingly one of Erin Elizabeth Birgy’s most cohesively designed ventures into her art-pop wilderness, the listen -- originally penned by Birgy’s friend, Austin Jackson of jazz-punk band Dragons -- is elevated into a dancefloor anthem where her newfound explorations into bodies of synthscapes sweeping and trumpeting amid percussion are excited by ready desires to be whelmed by romantic forces. “And let me / Get lost / In your eyes / One more time,” she sings, with the ghostly heat of Westerman’s equal yearning nearby. “Show me what love is.” As the listen soars higher and higher, Birgy never does come down from her cloud, and it’s like she’s shifting the universe into her favor.

Cole Sprouse Signs Producing Deal With Lionsgate For Future Project After ‘Five Feet Apart’ Success.
Tumblr media
EXCLUSIVE: After recently committing to Under Cover, Lionsgate has entered into a producing deal with actor-producer Cole Sprouse to develop a new unidentified project for the studio.
“I’m a huge fan of Joe Drake, Nathan Kahane, Erin Westerman, and the entire team at Lionsgate,” said Sprouse. “They’ve taken a front seat in the cultivation of my career, and I’m grateful for that confidence and belief. Lionsgate has been incredibly receptive to what I want to accomplish as a young filmmaker, and I’m comforted to be teaming up with a group of like-minded creatives as we navigate those waters.”
The deal builds on the box office success of Sprouse’ 2019 hit Five Feet Apart, which was produced by CBS Films and distributed by Lionsgate. With a modest $7 million budget, the film went on to gross $91.5 million worldwide. Sprouse and Lionsgate are set to reteam on the upcoming production of Under Cover, in which Sprouse will star for the studio opposite Zachary Levi.
The deal is the second recent producing gig for Sprouse, who recently produced and starred in the thriller podcast Borrasca for QCode. He currently stars on The CW’s Riverdale.
“We are big fans of Cole as an actor and artist, and see untapped value as a producer. We’re honored he wants to work together to find material we can build from the ground up for him to star and produce,” said Westerman.
Sprouse was represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, WME and DLA Piper. Robert Melnik made the deal for Lionsgate.

Tom Blyth To Play Young Coriolanus Snow In “THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES”
Lionsgate today announced that the studio has cast Tom Blyth, currently seen starring as the titular character in EPIX’s “Billy the Kid,” as the young Coriolanus Snow in the studio’s highly anticipated feature film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, the adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ #1 New York Times bestseller. “Jennifer and Armie’s irresistible magnetism, separately and together, make them the perfect pairing for this action comedy,” said Erin Westerman, President of Production for Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. “They are both incredibly funny actors that can also deliver on the action, but what sets this movie apart is the way their infectious chemistry commands the screen. You can’t take your eyes off them.”
The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.
- It’s very fitting that Armie’s casting news was announced the same day as the news of the Netflix acquisition of BORN TO BE MURDERED.  BORN TO BE MURDERED is produced by Luca and directed by his former partner  Ferdinando Cito Filomarino.

Owned TBR-list of Doom
Or; I own too many books and I have too little time to get to them all.
I want to say that I’ll entirely pull my reads this year off my own shelves, but it’s rather unlikely to actually happen. Mood reader and all that.
Shamelessly stealing @lettersfromthelighthouse ‘s formatting - bold is started, strikethrough is finished. Imagine that the titles are italicised; tumblr refuses to copy formatting done in another file. I hope I shall keep updating this post, but I am notoriously forgetful, so there’s that.
Sorted into categories, but no alphabetical order under the cut:
Non-fiction, historic:
The Illustrated Red Baron, Peter Kilduff

This should be good fun! We need more comedy these days.

"“Jennifer and Armie’s irresistible magnetism, separately and together, make them the perfect pairing for this action comedy,” said Erin Westerman, President of Production for Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group. “They are both incredibly funny actors that can also deliver on the action, but what sets this movie apart is the way their infectious chemistry commands the screen. You can’t take your eyes off them.
Lopez can be seen next in highly-anticipated Universal rom-com Marry Me opposite Owen Wilson. She recently received rave reviews in the STX pic Hustlers. She is reppedd by CAA, the Medina Co and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
Hammer is coming off the Netflix thriller Rebecca which also stars Lily James and bowed on Netflix earlier this month. He will also star in Dreamland opposite Gary Oldman and Evangeline Lilly. He is represented by WME, Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern.
XCLUSIVE: Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer are set to star in Lionsgate’s action-comedy Shotgun Wedding. Pitch Perfect‘s Jason Moore will direct from a screenplay by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether.
Mandeville’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman, who produced Lionsgate’s hit film Wonder, will produce. They will be joined as producers by Nuyorican Productions’ Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Alex Young is overseeing the production and executive producing for Mandeville Films, and Courtney Baxter for Nuyorican Productions.
Ryan Reynolds is also executive producing along with George Dewey. James Myers and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the production for Lionsgate. Production is expected to begin early next year. The film will be presented at the upcoming AFM

Zachary Levi and Cole Sprouse to Star in Music-Driven Comedy ‘Undercover’
Shazam star Zachary Levi made the news official today about the upcoming music-driven family comedy film Undercover on his Instagram. Lionsgate is reuniting with Mandeville Films for the movie which will also star Cole Sprouse, and be directed by Steve Pink, who previously directed such music-driven movies as Hot Tub Time Machine and wrote the seminal classics High Fidelity and Grosse Point Blank.
Mandeville Films’ Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman are producing, their $1.8 billion-grossing credits including such family hits as Lionsgate’s Wonder, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, and The Muppets. Undercover was written by Amy Talkington, with revisions by Jonathan Igla, Diablo Cody, Chris Hazzard & Michael Fontana. Jonathan Levine serves as executive producer. Alex Young serves as an executive producer for Mandeville Films.
Levi will play Jack, a down-on-his-luck rocker-turned-father, who, to make ends meet, secretly joins a group of young musicians in a wedding cover band led by misfit Ben, played by Cole Sprouse.  Things start looking up for this ragtag band, but when Jack’s secret gets revealed, he rediscovers what’s truly important in life while teaching Ben to find his own voice as a musical talent. Commenting on the announcement, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Nathan Kahane said, “Like School of Rock and Pitch Perfect, Undercover is a movie that unites audiences with the way the cast interprets and performs familiar songs. Not only is it hilarious and charming, but it’s going to be a blast to see personalities like Zachary and Cole own their performances of so many classics.”
Added Lionsgate’s President of Motion Picture Production Erin Westerman, “We’re thrilled to be working with Steve Pink and reteaming with our friends at Mandeville on Undercover. Just like they did so beautifully with Wonder, they have a focused sense of the kind of entertainment that will connect and resonate with family audiences. Zachary and Cole are perfect for this film and their addition to our cast pumps the volume way up!” Lionsgate’s Meredith Wieck and Aaron Edmonds will oversee the production for the studio, which begins this April.
Levi was last seen in New Line/DC’s Shazam!, which grossed $365M WW, and he just wrapped production on Kevin MacDonald’s Prisoner 760 opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and Jodie Foster.  He also starred in Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: The Dark World. Other credits include the Amazon award-winning series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, for which he took home a SAG Award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series for his recurring role in season two of the series. He also starred in NBC’s Chuck. Levi was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for She Loves Me in 2016. He was also the co-lead (with Mandy Moore) in the Disney animated musical Tangled.
Sproue recently seen starred in Lionsgate/CBS Films’ breakout box office success Five Feet Apart, which grossed over $90M WW. He can also be seen starring on The CW’s hit series Riverdale as Jughead.
