My March Books
Hi! Everyone these are the books I have read this month, there are 8 of them. As you can see most of them are romances short stories, and a mystery. As always I have the Goodreads links for you to check out:
Snowed Inn (Freedom Valley#6) (Erin Branscom): The last installment of this series had glimpses of our couples from the previous books and introduced us to a new one with great chemistry and a love for food. Holly was funny, spunky, and a great cook and Beau was the perfect example of a grumpy exterior and soft interior protagonist with a painful past. I also loved the side characters of Hank, Beau’s brother, and Ophelia, Holly’s best friend, and their respective romance. I want a short story of their relationship after this book so that I can return to Freedom Valey. I liked that this book was in the winter and the Golden Gable Inn and the scenes with Sasha, the cook, and the igloos in the yard. I recommend all the series. You can only read this one but the whole series is amazing.
Lemon Meringue Pie Murder (Hannah Swenson #4) (Joanne Fluke): I like this series of cozy mysteries as I love Hannah Swenson and her family in Lake. I like the recipes the author gives every five chapters or so. I like that the mysteries are easy and if you think a little you can help Hannah solve them. I loved in all of them to see how Hannah’s relationships with her neighbors are faring, especially those with Mike and Norman. I loved her little sister Michelle whom we were introduced to in this one. Overall, it was a delightful book to read.
The Undercover Santa (Spying on Love #1) (Jo Davies): That was a fun short story with a double point of view and a fun open ending. I read both in the same morning on my commute to work, so it was a great and fun start for me.
The Undisclosed Panda (Spying on Love #2) (Jo Davies): The second part of the previous story with a happy ending and unexpected twists, but not too many for a six-chapter short story, to the story's mystery. It was a great detour of the tea district in Shanghai too, as the two go there to solve the mystery and have their first date.
Pardon My French Press (Coffee Loft #2) (J. P. Sterling): The second short story of the Coffee Loft series was based in New York City, which I loved as it was a good development of the characters and the shop itself. I liked the personalities of the two protagonists, Portia and Christian, who have a sense of humor with lots of sarcasm. I loved the relationships of the two protagonists with their families and neighbors. It is a classic enemies-to-friends-to-lovers romance in a coffee shop in New York something that made it special to me as one of my films, You’ve Got a Mail. I will recommend it to someone who is searching for something small to it.
A Pinch of Salt (Lucy Marin): This retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice set in a Canadian cooking show was pretty good and has the preceptive of many of the characters, especially those who participate in the competition. I loved that the author did not include the affair between Lydia and Wickham but had their characters as close to them as she could in these circumstances.  It also has the main themes and the personalities of the characters are the same as the original. It was really with good description of the food and the emotions of the two protagonists. It was a good modern retelling of a classic.
The Sitcom Star (Chu’s Restaurant #1) (Jackie Lau): This was a cute novella with two former classmates who reacquainted and started to spend time together. The difference in the novella is that the female protagonist is a famous star of an Asian- American sitcom which she produces and writes the script. I loved the fun and cute moments the protagonists had with each other, their friends, and their families too.
The Reluctant Heartthrob (Chu’s Restaurant #2) (Jackie Lau): This cute novella and second story of this series surrounds the male protagonist of the series who is a grumpy Shakespeare-loving actor. The female protagonist is a data scientist who might have autism but she hasn’t had a formal review, so she doesn’t know for sure. I loved the representation in this one and the relationship between them as I love the grumpy/ sunshine type of books.

“To try to define the Divine in human words is a fool’s errand – but luckily for us, God delights in making the foolish wise...”
I wrote and recorded this Affirmation of Faith in a Queer God, with its joyful affirmation of God’s queerness -- from God’s soft spot for outcasts to Jesus’ gender nonconformity -- for my church’s upcoming More Light Sunday service.
More Light Sunday is celebrated by many PC(USA) churches every October on the Sunday nearest to National Coming Out Day, as a chance to celebrate LGBTQA+ persons and lift up how important their full participation in the life of our faith communities is.
I figured I’d share this piece here for two reasons:
First, to invite you to come worship with us this Sunday!
This service celebrating the LGBTQA+ community is at 11am CST on October 11, on Facebook live.
Several really cool people -- Rev. Erin Swenson (who was the first openly trans pastor in the USA), Michael Adee (former executive director for More Light Presbyterians), and Trice Gibbons (on the More Light board for many years) -- will be sharing their reflections in place of a sermon. I’m pumped!
And yeah, my affirmation will be shared :)
There will also be communion, for any who wish to partake -- our congregation does not gatekeep God’s table.
Second, I wanted to let y’all know about my new website, Binary-Breaking Liturgy!!
Its purpose is to share worship materials that use inclusive language for people & expansive language for God.
(Basically, it’s where I’m compiling all the liturgy I’ve written over the years)
I’m gonna start posting some of my poems there too, and all my sermons, just so all that will be finally in one place
You can find the full text of this Affirmation of Faith in a Queer God here.

Epic Rides Oz Trails Off-Road Recap
The increasingly popular Epic Rides series wrapped up its season in Bentonville, Arkansas over the weekend with the Oz Trails Off-Road race. This marathon event runs for three days and includes a fat tire criterium, individual amateur and professional race days and a weekend-long expo with local and cycling specific companies. BikeFlights.com was in attendance to witness how this second-year event has captured participants from around the world and to get some riding in on the popular trails of the area.
Tumblr media
BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Keegan Swenson captures second overall in Sunday’s main event, pocketing a nice payout to wrap up his season.
Tumblr media
BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Sofia Gomez-Villafane showed that she has some very strong late-season form by winning Friday’s fat tire criterium, Sunday’s marathon race and clinching the overall title as the winner of the 2019 Epic Rides Series. That was some impressive racing!
Tumblr media
Current USA Marathon Mountain Bike National Champion and BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Rose Grant was all smiles at the conclusion of her race. Rose finished out her weekend by going 1-2 with her teammate Sofia.
Tumblr media
Despite a sidewall tear during her race, BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Erin Huck fought to an impressive sixth place finish.
Tumblr media
Smiles for miles, 50 miles to be exact, for BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Geoff Kabush after his eighth place finish.
Tumblr media
Race and overall series winner Sofia Gomez-Vellafane after sprinting for the win in Sunday’s marathon finish.

Although the racing is serious, the finish line can be a place of laughter, reflection, smiles and food. Alexey Vermeulen took full advantage with a chocolate chip cookie after placing 12th in the men’s pro race.
Tumblr media
Stan’s Pivot Maxxis rider and BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Keegan Swenson grabbed silver in Sunday’s marathon race.
Tumblr media
Virginian Bryan Lewis was all thumbs up at the conclusion of his race.
Tumblr media
Solo winner, by a margin of almost two minutes, Andri Frischkncecht of Scott-SRAM, makes his mark in Bentonville and signs a painting created by “Nelson Makes Art.”
Tumblr media
Rose Grant and team Stan’s Pivot Maxxis were strategic in their efforts during Friday’s fat tire crit which allowed her teammate Sofia to sprint for victory.
Tumblr media
BikeFlights.com’s contest winner of entry and round trip shipping, Madelyn Roberson, traveled from Alabama in pursuit of racing her first marathon mountain bike race.
Tumblr media
Madelyn was also awarded a coffee date with Olympian, current XC National Champion and BikeFlights.com Brand Ambassador Chloe Woodruff of Stan’s Pivot Maxxis.
Tumblr media
Madelyn also WON the amateur women’s open category for the 30-mile course - congratulations!
Tumblr media
The new Stan’s NoTubes tire plug, the Dart, was in full effect and was utilized by racers on the sharp, rocky terrain of the Bentonville trail system.
Tumblr media
Bentonville was a complete surprise and Northwest Arkansas is proving to be a destination in itself with a booming restaurant scene, expansive trail system and cultural amenities such as the Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art.
Tumblr media
Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art shows several galleries from modern to contemporary and is free to the public.
Tumblr media
Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art has stunning architecture, a restaurant and is conveniently located right in downtown Bentonville.
Tumblr media
Be sure to stop by Onyx Coffee Lab as well. Their simple, yet refined menu is surely to impress.

Until next year, so long!

The artists attempt a score imbedded with mechanisms that make its execution increasingly impossible, forcing the material into stages of deterioration and evolution. ‘Destroy// All Places’ began in San Francisco in 2012, and has since visited over 23 cities including Saint Petersburg, Rome, Cairo and Athens.  Over 100 artists have participated in the project internationally. The performance took place in The Soap Factory on August 26th, 2017.
PARTICIPATING MUSICIANS: Milo Fine (percussion,) Cyrus Pireh (electric guitar,) Benjamin J Mansavage Klein (tuba)
PARTICIPATING TWIN CITIES DANCERS: Leila Awadallah, Amelia Morris, Nicole Stumpf, Jenn Pray, Laura Levinson, Ben Swenson-Klatt, Non Edwards, Pedro Pablo Lander, Abby Taylor, Gabriel Mata, Rachel Horner, Halie Bahr, Erin Drummond, Tera Kilbride, H. Uyen Nguyen, Sarah Finley

Project X Zone series English Dub hypothetical cast
Look below the cut, this got kinda long... n__n; Please note that I’m only listing the ones that have had official English dub voices.
Project X Zone
Yuri Lowell: Troy Baker Estellise Sidos Heurassein: Eden Riegel or Cherami Leigh? (Riegel provided Estelle’s dub voice in the Tales of Vesperia game(s), while Leigh dubbed her in the movie, The First Strike) Flynn Scifo: Sam Riegel Jin Kazama: Brad Swaile (Street Fighter x Tekken English voice) Ling Xiaoyu: Carrie Keranen (Tekken: Blood Vengeance English voice) Heihachi Mishima: Jamieson Price (Blood Vengeance and SFxT English voice) Alisa Bosconovitch: Cristina Valenzuela or Michele Knotz? (Blood Vengeance and SFxT voices, respectively) KOS-MOS: Bridget Hoffman or Luci Christian? (Hoffman voiced her in Xenosaga Episodes I and III; Christian voiced her in Xenosaga: The Animation) T-elos: see above (Bridget Hoffman voiced both KOS-MOS and T-elos in Episode III, so it would only make sense if Luci got to take a crack at T-elos when she also voiced KOS-MOS.) Kite: Mona Marshall BlackRose: Wendee Lee Soma Schicksal: Yuri Lowenthal or Crispin Freeman? (I haven’t gotten to hear much, if any, of either voice yet...) Alisa Ilinichina Amiella: Kate Higgins or Cherami Leigh? (Same case as Soma...) Lindow Amamiya: Kyle Hebert Neneko: Luci Christian (She voiced Neneko in the English dub of the Yumeria anime, but she didn’t sound like a little girl, which Neneko seems like she is supposed to be. She may have to use a “little girl” voice for Neneko.) Neito: Tiffany Salinas? (TBH, I didn’t see much of the Yumeria anime, and even less of Salinas’s performance in the English dub. What little I have seen seems acceptable, but I’m honestly a bit afraid to watch the anime for myself... ‘Course, I’m kind of a coward, so... ;v;  ) Selvaria Bles: April Stewart Sakura Shinguji: Wendee Lee Ichiro Ogami: Dave Wittenberg Gemini Sunrise: Laura Bailey Erica Fontaine: Caitlin Glass? (She voiced Erica in the dub of the anime Sakura Wars: School of Paris, and that was the only time Erica Fontaine was dubbed.) Toma: Nick Tagas Cyrille: Erin M. Cahill Riemsianne La Vaes: Amy Provenzano Zephyr: Scott Menville Leanne: Jessica DiCicco Vashyron: Nolan North Bruno Delinger: (No official English voice, but I picture him being dubbed by the celebrity he resembles, Bruce Willis. XD  If not him, then someone who can convincingly sound like him.) Ulala: Cherami Leigh (I would say Apollo Smile, but she has retired from voice acting. : (   ) Mega Man X: Mark Gatha (Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X - The Day of Sigma) Zero: Lucas Gilbertson Tron Bonne: Caroly Larson; failing that, Tara Platt Servbots: Elizabeth Hanna or...whoever voiced them in Marvel vs. Capcom 3? Vile: Roger Rhodes? Ryu: Kyle Hebert? Ken Masters: Reuben Langdon Chun-Li: Laura Bailey Juri: Jessica Straus Seth: Michael McConnohie Chris Redfield: Roger Craig Smith Jill Valentine: Patricia Ja Lee Dante: Reuben Langdon Lady: Kari Wahlgren Morrigan Aensland: Kathleen Barr or Siobhan Flynn? (Barr voiced Morrigan in the anime Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge, while Flynn provided her English voice in Marvel vs Capcom 3. Barr nailed the range of emotions, and Flynn had a genuine Scottish accent (Morrigan apparently originated in Scotland). Makes it hard to decide...) Demitri Maximoff: Paul Dobson (Darkstalkers’ Revenge voice) Hsien-Ko: Nicole Oliver Lord Raptor: Scott McNeil Jedah Dohma: Travis Willingham or David Kaye? Aura: Lia Sargent Iris: Michelle Gazepis? (I have no idea what the quality of the voice acting was in Mega Man X4...) Frank West: TJ Rotolo Arthur: Daniel Woren
Project X Zone 2
Leon S. Kennedy: Paul Mercier or Matthew Mercer? Ada Wong: Sally Cahill or Jolene Andersen? Vergil: Daniel Southworth Nero Angelo: David Keeley (I don’t remember if Nero has any voice acting in PXZ2, but it seems like I should list this guy...) M. Bison: Gerald C. Rivers Phoenix Wright: Ben Judd, Trevor White, or Eric Vale? Maya Fey: Samantha Dakin, Abby Trott, or Lindsay Seidel Miles Edgeworth: Mark Healy Felicia: Janyse Jaud Pyron: David Kaye Strider Hiryu: Marc Biagi (though it would be cool if his English voice was provided by a genuinely Japanese actor) Hotsuma: Jordan Rosa? Hibana: Karen Swenson Kazuma Kiryu: Darryl Kurylo (English voice in the first Yakuza game) Goro Majima: Mark Hamill (see Kazuma) Ranmaru: Dorothy Fahn Shadow: Tom Clarke Hill? Cardinal Garigliano: Dave B. Mitchell Ryo Hazuki: Corey Marshall Zagi: Roger Craig Smith Kazuya Mishima: Jordan Byrne Haseo: Andrew Francis or Yuri Lowenthal? Natsu: Kate Higgins Ciel Alencon: Cristina Valenzuela Nana Kazuki: Cassandra Lee Morris Aty: Melissa Gulden (Apparently, she’s going to provide this character’s dub voice in the upcoming Summon Night 6: Lost Borders.) Fiora: Carina Reeves Metal Face / Mumkhar: Timothy Watson Chrom: Matthew Mercer Lucina: Laura Bailey Tiki: Mela Lee
As for deciding on English-language voices for those who haven’t had an official dub yet, I wouldn’t know where to begin... Other than that, please let me know if I missed anyone!
