Scars
SFW Blurbs with the songs that I listened to
Leo (Oh Children by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds)
Leo pulled you closer against his plastron, face tipped up and eyes closed as he slowly allowed himself to relax.
Your fingers were soft on his scales, tiny points of connection that he was hyper aware of as you slowly mapped your way across his skin.
The tip of one nail scored along the side of his pectoral scute, and he shivered underneath you, letting out a low hum at the feeling.
"Sorry." You whispered, pressing a kiss to his shoulder in apology.
"S' alright." He said softly, not moving when your palm pressed flat agaisnt his bicep. "It's doesn't hurt, not anymore."
He was aware of how your expression had crumpled upon seeing the almost surgically clean crack up on side of his top left scute, though your expression and scent when his whole shoulder had been covered in bandages had been far worse. In a way, he's morbidly thankful that the blade had been so sharp and well maintained. Now that the wound was fully healed and filled with ceramic epoxy, there were no harsh edges to scrap against you, barely any sign of how deep the wound had been.
It hurt though, to watch you touch him so hesitantly. He loved it when you let your fingers travel over him, had lost count of the hours you'd gently explored his tattoo or the whorls on his shell.
And now...
He reached down, palmed the back of your head, held you close while you stared at the scar on his shoulder.
Now, if he could go back in time, he wouldn't have hesitated to gut his opponent when he had the chance.
Your head tilted upwards towards him, brows drawn up in the middle and lower lip quivering, and he blanked on what to do, had no idea how to make it better.
Slowly, so slowly, the very edge of your finger traced along the healed crack, and he fought not to let his breathe stutter at the feeling, chills erupting along his limbs.
"I love you, Leonardo." You whispered it against his skin, but he heard the words you were really saying.
I almost lost you.
"I'm here." He answered, and knew from the warmth of tears slipping across his collar that he was right.
Mikey (Another Love by Tom O'Dell)
Mikey was sure you thought he was asleep, the way you moved so slowly, your touch whisper soft as you pet over the curves of his arm, tracing the orange flowers and shaded dots, running your finger over and over the carefully ink lines. It felt so nice, and he was content to let you explore for as long as you wanted, until your finger whispered over to rest on the scar tissue right at the edge of his plastron.
You gasped when he moved, when he pulled your hand off the damaged, raised scales and tucked your appendage around the far edge of his chest. His heart twinged at the sound, so he pulled you closer so you wouldn't think he was pushing you away.
"I'm sorry." Your whisper was small, and the regret in those two words had him rubbing a hand soothingly up and down your back, internally cringing once more.
"Don't have to be sorry, baby." He said softly, pressing a kiss into your hair. "It's just a little sensitive when I'm not expecting it."
You were quiet against him for a moment, and he silently hoped that you'd drop it, that you wouldn't ask...
"What happened, Mike?"
He breathed out slowly, hope dashed, and tried to decide what to say. Some time had passed, he technically should be ok to acknowledge the wound, but whenever his thoughts trended towards that night, the hurt bubbled up once more.
He didn't want to spoil his time with you bringing up old ghosts. Didn't want to make you wonder if he had ever accessed you as a potential threat despite the length of your relationship.
"I love you." He said instead, giving you a squeeze and pressing his mouth once more to your hair.
Your arm tightened around him, holding him close, hoping one day he'd be able to tell you. That one day he'd let you help soothe whatever wound he hid.
Raph (Dangerous Man by Little Dume)
Raph could feel you, barely, draped over his carapace, your soft hands rubbing that coconut scented lotion across his scutes and making sure the various cracks across the surface were still filled with ceramic epoxy and smooth to the touch.
"Feels good, sweetheart." He rumbled, relaxing into the sweet treatment, letting a churr come out when you finished and simply splayed across the width of his shell.
"You'll have to let me do the front in a little bit, big guy."
He grunted at the thought of your soft fingers ghosting across his chest. "Not all the ones on the front are filled in yet. Don wants to give 'em another week."
You gave a little sigh at his words, and his heart twinged heavily at how weary the sound was. When you remained silent however, he shifted one arm back, letting his fingers curl around your ankle in silent askance.
"You always have new cracks, Raph." You whispered, voice almost breaking on his name, and something slimy curled up under his plastron, stifling his throat.
He had to swallow twice before he could gruffly say. "Sometimes it just happens, sometimes it's just the only way."
Your foot twitched in his grip, your next words pressed against the central scute on his shell. "No one else has this many cracks, Raph."
He let spark of anger in your sentence boil under his skin, tried to breath it back down before giving a little tug on your foot. He rose up and tipped to the side, sliding you off his carapace to land with a huff on the mattress.
"No one else has this many cracks because I take 'em for them." He said, trying to sound serious, knowing you probably saw through to the ire beneath. "These cracks could be on Mikey, on Don, hell a few even got Mr. Perfect Ninja's name on 'em. So don't-" He broke off, suddenly aware of how your face had done deathly still and red.
You were trying not to cry. He sighed heavily, letting his head hang and brush against the bed, taking a deep breath of the combined scents of you and him to calm himself down.
"I'm sorry I-" The feel of your foot on his plastron cut him off once more, when you used the leverage to push away from him and slid to the edge of the bed. You stood, turned to look at him, eyes red.
"You're more than just a protector, Raphael." When he opened his mouth to retort, you held up the empty bottle of lotion. "I'm gonna go get that disinfectant lotion from Donnie."
And then you were gone, and he slumped fully on his shell to wait for your return.
Donnie (Hey There, Delilah by The Plain White Tees)
Donnie doodled away one-handed on the notepad balanced on his thigh, his other hand softly rubbing back and forth across your lower back where you were tucked in close, snoozing away to the point a gentle snore burred in your nose.
The Lab was relatively quiet, only the sound of soft classic rock playing from his main computer around the bend and the gentle ping of the Atari game still on standby where you'd fallen asleep halfway through the game an hour earlier providing the background noise Donnie needed to sit still.
He didn't pause writing when your snore caught, and you sleepily turned into his hand, a secret smile ticking the corner of his mouth when you grabbed his hand with gentle pressure and moved it so he was palming the soft swell of your stomach.
"Time?" You asked, voice sleep laden and raspy, and he hummed back, letting his thumb press against your flesh in acknowledgement.
"Only an hour later." Donnie assured you, eyes flicking over briefly when your soft hands started trailing up and down his arm, over the bubbly texture that even after all this time he knew you didn't expect.
"S'cold." You said, nails gently scratching over his ruined scales, and Donnie twisted his hand, the stretch a burn in his wrist, to trail the rough texture of his thumb over your own, conscious of the pressure he was exerting against you.
"That hand's always colder." He could go into detail, explain restrictive blood flow and damaged, seared nerves, but the press of your lips against his palm quieted his mind, let him focus instead on the pressure and tingle that shouldn't be there instead.
You sighed, tucking his hand into the neck of your hoodie, and he huffed out a laugh that could have been a snort, returning to his notes, his half ruined hand slowly warning up inside your clothes.
"Are you doing your exercises?" You asked, sounding closer to sleep once more, and he nodded before remembering you couldn't see.
"I have to," He clicked the pen, set aside his notes, and sighed heavily, rolling over to spoon against your back. "If I wanna keep being able to grip my Bo."
He flexed his hand inside your hoodie, and you grumbled, hiking up his arm so the both of you could lay properly, trapping his misbehaving hand in a position that hopefully would keep it from falling asleep.
Donnie smiled against your hair, snout whispering over the soft texture, drifting off to the soft pressure of your thumb on his arm, high enough where he could truly feel the sensation.

“And...done.”
Kagome watched as Kikyo lifted her newly assembled hand and examined it with a keen eye. She sat limp against the warm walls of Kaede’s hut, flames licking at the edges of the nearby fire pit, Kagome’s healing supplies sprawled out over the reed mats. Before, these supplies had consisted of gauze, rubbing alcohol, and future ointments, but now her collection has expanded to include more specialized tools: adhesive, epoxy, and sanding materials. To heal a person whose wounds were not of flesh, one needed to improvise.
“It’s golden,” Kikyo remarked, tracing down the shiny lacquered adhesive in her arms. They spiderwebbed across her skin like veins, stark against her porcelain complexion. “Beautiful.”
Kagome beamed. “You like it?”
Kikyo lowered her hand. “It is elegant. But no one would ever see it,” she said, alluding to the wide, voluminous sleeves of her miko clothes.
“I’ve seen it,” Kagome pointed out.
It was a joking remark, but Kikyo’s eyes drifted close, lips curling up in appeasement. “Then that is enough.”
Kagome blushed, fumbling to tuck the remainder of her supplies away. The hut’s warmth, once quaint, was now stifling. Her eyes darted towards the doorway, and she shifted her thoughts towards something more suitable.
The others had sustained minor injuries from their latest skirmish with Naraku’s incarnations – a few cuts for Inuyasha, which had healed in a moment’s notice; a thin gash on Miroku’s ankle that Sango had bandaged for him, evading his flirtations all the while. She was aware that they now meandered outside, recovering or hunting for that evening’s dinner, leaving her and Kikyo alone, as they had so often found themselves.
Kikyo had dealt the most damage to both the enemy and herself. Her body, constructed of clay, was far too fragile to withstand even the most menial of combat. Her skin cracked and severed and fell to pieces, and each time, Kagome would collect her fallen stone limbs to reattach them, gingerly applying glue and holding Kikyo’s body in place using the strength of her own while it dried.
Only us, Kikyo had insisted. Kagome had assumed it was because she didn’t want everyone else to see her in such a disfigured state, being reassembled like a broken clock. They were no longer enemies, and they had passed the phase of begrudging animosity, timid greetings, and half-hearted attempts at conversation. But she hadn’t understood why Kikyo would let her – the girl she had once claimed to hate – see her so vulnerable.
Kagome didn’t understand it much now, either, but she treasured these moments alone. There were slow lines of sleepy dialogue exchanged, and sometimes only silence, but the air was always heavy, weighing down on them. There were the faint, almost imagined sounds – the hitch in Kikyo’s breath when Kagome’s wet fingers lathered her clean; the sigh she let out when Kagome ran her hands through her length of dark hair. Her eyelashes fell like a curtain as gentle palms danced across her collarbone, down the dip of her spine. Over and over, she basked in the foreign, comforting sensation of touch.
When her eyes fluttered open, and Kikyo gazed down at her body, there was a sense of regret. As though she wished she weren’t broken so beyond repair that she could reach up and caress Kagome in return.

Speaking of ADHESIVES….
(As if anyone but me can find the discussion fascinating….)
The only glue which will NOT yellow, and will NOT be visible, given the transparency of alabaster - is a singular resin epoxy which can only be ordered from the manufacturer in the UK. I waded into their website in the spirit of bright good will, and was tortured for an hour trying to navigate my way through their crap website. A sizable box appears in front of the page you are trying to decipher - that asks “HI, CAN I HELP?”
No. No you cannot. I’d like to just read the description - and the box will NOT go away. When I stupidly succumbed to the BOX, and asked for help? (Do you even need to ask …?)
The torment continued as I tried to check out - and no matter how many times I inserted my information, the page de-populated as I hit “pay” - and it had to all be done again.
The 12th attempt held - I paid, and only then did I discover that two TINY bottles (think the size of superglue containers) @ £39 Fer fuck sake - and they charged me an additional £28 to SHIP IT TO MY UK POST ADDRESS.
Thieves, stoats, weasels and SCALLYWAGGS.
I wrote to them and told them what I thought of their stupid website, and demanded to know where they get off with that shipping amount - from a UK address to a UK address. Remarkably they relented, sent it by Royal Mail - and returned about 20 bucks.
And so…
Because no one can manufacture a tape with any amount of STICKY to it, I am unable to apply the resin epoxy to the breaks , and tape the seams to hold the mend in place. All tape just floats off and leaves me in tears.
So I came up with a CLEVER PLAN (just like Baldrick) - I used hot glue as a BANDAGE to hold the pieces together while the resin cures. Sure, it’s hideous, but a glob dries almost instantly, will pick off easily when it’s done - and here’s the final kick to the head…?
THE INSANELY EXPENSIVE RESIN ADHESIVE HAS A SEVEN-DAY-CURE-TIME.
Fuck me.

(love)
This is how one rests at ease:
There is no point in panicking.
The world has never not been
falling apart all around you.
These bodies have never once not been transparently filled,
with bones and blood and mechanical parts.
Inflatable epoxy raisin easy to look through:
I can only pray that you’ll be gentle with my corpse.
Draped as it is, upon a stricked dead tree,
one juicy, opened meal for the crows to descend on.
Something merely hanging,
as painjobs cracking off, the rubbery smell of fried machine guts,
bleeding out, tainting the shore,
oils and rare earths
a creature that cannot return, even in death from the alien soils that it sprung from,
straining and aching and coming about,
with every touch, every exposure to the harsh elements.
A trail of oozing, soiling blackness, staining any hand of yours that would touch.
Rotten aquariums, their stench perfusing everything,
spreading everywhere – runaway growths, plain bacterial catastrophe
The long hairs of a waterlogged corpse hiding the worst of her algae-blue skin
of the tainted green whiteness
Heaps of defective doll parts lolling around,
waiting, maybe, for some bizzare collector to make a pet project of it.
For you to step past the wall I’ve dissappeared into,
so I could listen, for a while, to your sounds.
Have I not always approached you clad in scabs and gore?
Have I not pulled off the face right at the greeting,
answering your concern by removing all doubt?
I’ve got to have you convinced that it was some filegree artistic arrangement of the parts,
just to trick you into kissing me under a shower of blood.
The red is all I have to write with,
the very last drop of anything juicy in the dried up plain of salt,
the eternal starkness of bloody red on bony whiteness,
the oldest form of vivid coloring,
the beast’s devouring hunger,
and the spectral shade’s long wait,
sitting patienty on her knees in the lab’s watery container tank.
Bloody needles, and concrete wall-plates,
bottles of acrid-smelling products, grimy cleaning closets and discarded bandages
every corner, where the discolorations accumulate.
It’s hard enough to exist when it’s only just for me.
What I’m saying is -
What I am not sure of is -
how will I manage not to come apart in your hands,
if you should ever try to embrace me?

BANDAGES
I live in an old brick house on a busy street. Outside, horns blare through the day and sirens cut the silence of the night.
It's not a pretty house. Dust lingers heavy on neglected surfaces. The old furnace hasn't turned on in years. Papers piled up on the desk, trash shoved into corners, dirty dishes strewn across countertops. Ivy grows out of cracks in the foundation and weaves in and out of boarded windows. There's a hole in the kitchen wall where someone drove a car through years ago, but I never really got around to fixing it - just covered it in plywood and cheap epoxy, like a bandage. And in this house, I am alone.
I always tell myself I'm going to fix it all. I want it pretty. I want it perfect. I want everyone to look at my house and feel envious, to want to come inside and see a real house. Not just the bandages. I have to fight the feeling that it's all hopeless though, the battle of believing that this is my house and my world and I cannot change it. I often lose. Sometimes, I do win! I replaced the leaky faucet in the bathroom. Bought new curtain rods and fixed them up nice and level. And on one occasion, I went up to the bedroom with a sledgehammer and punched a hole in the wall to build a new window. That's when I saw it.
A street I've never seen before, so bright and colorful. So close, how could I have missed it before? In the places where my street is covered in discarded liquor bottles and old fast food wrappers, there are flowers. The buildings aren't covered in soot, no, they're clean and warm. The people don't look miserable as they mill around the sidewalk. Where my street had abandoned storefronts, this one had coffee shops and libraries. It looked so beautiful. Where red flags hung high on spiky posts on my street, beautiful rainbow flags decorated windows and bumper stickers and even clothes. I thought, maybe if I can fix up my house a little bit, I can fit in with all those people.
So I tried. I cleaned some of the dishes. I put away some of the mail. I trimmed a few ivy branches back from the places they once strangled. And all the while, I would stare out that window, longing for the kind of life I could have if I could just fix this damn house the right way. And staring out that window, that was the first time I saw you.
You had these stunning eyes and breathtaking smile. And you lived on that street, in a quiet little house with a (rather vocal) orange cat in the windowbox. I was enchanted.
So I walked down the only street I knew, the only one I'd ever walked, and headed towards that bright street. It was so easy, just a left and another left, and we met somewhere in the middle. We talked about small things over Chai lattes and the pages of books. Then, we talked about bigger things over dinners and late nights on your deck. I smiled real smiles with you. I laughed, not sarcastically, but joyfully. I fell in love with the way you dance off-rhythm, the way your eyes sparkle when you talk about something that excites you, the way you lean over to kiss me when we're alone together.
And I believed you'd be my reason. You'd be why I'd fix my house and make it pretty and perfect. Because I wanted nothing more than to invite you over. I wanted you to see my house. I wanted you to know me. But in the meantime, I'd put on some bandages. Throw some cloth over the dirty table, tuck the unopened mail into the cupboard, put some pictures over the holes I punched in the walls. Area rugs. Plastic. Cardboard. Candles. Bandages. I let you in, to see the patchwork of non-solutions I used to cover all the damage. I hoped you wouldn't peak beneath them. I hoped you wouldn't ask. I hoped you wouldn't leave.
And every time you left, I'd try to get going again. I'd put up sheetrock, I'd mix paint, I'd put away the laundry. But it wasn't good enough. It needed to be perfect. I wanted to build my house in a way that would make you want to stay. But I felt like I did none of it right. So I'd slap on another bandage while the leak in the roof kept spreading across the ceiling and down into the walls. I'd get to it. I'd be able to do it. Just needed some more time is all.
But then the day came that you stood curiously outside my door and I panicked. The crack in the floor spread beyond the rug I'd thrown over it. The water in the sink overflowed. The kettle screamed on the stove. The mountain of laundry avalanched from the bedroom to the hallway and beyond. So instead of opening the door, instead of letting you see, I threw myself on the floor. I left you locked outside.
You wondered, you waited, you worried. It was easier to lay on the floor alone and cry like I'd done in the past than to let you see my scars. I was sure you'd run. I was sure I'd never get up again. Nobody has seen my house without its bandages.
But I got up. I picked myself up for the second time in my life and I sheepishly picked up the phone. I felt like I would never be able apologize enough to make it up to you, but I wanted to try.
You cannot be the reason why I fix my house, and I cannot ask you to fix it for me.
But I hope that you'll come over. I'll open the door. I'll let you see my scars. I hope one day you'll show me what's under your bandages, too. We can take it one room at a time. I'll be scared. But I know it will all be okay. Right now, I'm learning from the builders. I'm gathering my tools. And I'm going to fix my house. Not for you, not because of you. I'll fix it because I deserve a house that feels like home.
I won't ask you to mix the concrete or wash the dishes. I can't ask you. But I hope you'll hold my hand while I smear plaster over fresh screws, hope you'll sit beside me while I organize all the papers, hope you'll hold the ladder while I fix the broken chandelier. I can't promise it will be pretty or perfect. But it will be mine, my home. And I hope you come over for tea and fresh bread. And I hope you'll invite me over when you're ready.

Adhesives & Sealants Market - Forecast(2024 - 2030)
Adhesives & Sealants Market Overview
Global Adhesives & Sealants market size is estimated to reach US$ 89.1 billion by 2027, after growing at a CAGR of 5.7% during the forecast period 2022-2027. Adhesives and sealants are the chemical products which are used to create a mechanical seal between components. Adhesives are the non-metallic materials used to hold two substances together, while sealants are material used to fill space between these substances and to provide a protective coating. Adhesives are of various types like polyurethane adhesives, cyanoacrylate adhesive and epoxy adhesives, while sealants consist of resin like silicon, acrylic and butyl. These materials are chemically made with the help of rheology modifiers which are used to improve their viscosity. Adhesives and sealants have high applicability in sectors like construction, automotive, paper, textile, electronics and wood. Their major applicability is in construction sector where adhesives are used in polycarboxylate for concrete production. Factors like growing construction activities, increase in production volume of automotive, increase in aircraft production and high consumption of clothing & apparel items are driving the growth of global adhesives & sealants market. However, adhesives and sealants manufacturing produce volatile organic compounds which can cause environment problems like pollution. The regulation imposed by government to restrict VOC emission can hamper the growth of global adhesives & sealants industry.
COVID-19 Impact
The wide spread of COVID-19 left a negative impact on the activities of various industrial sectors, as the necessary measures taken by countries like consequential lockdown led to lack of availability of labors and raw materials. This disrupted the functionality of various end users of adhesives and sealants like construction, automotive, textile, and aerospace. For instance, as per, International Construction and Infrastructure Surveys, the construction and infrastructure activities across all regions went down in Q1 of 2020 with China in the Asia-Pacific region having the sharpest workload contraction. Also, as per the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturing, in 2020 there was a 16% global decline in vehicles production. Further, as per the 2021 report of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, the Global business jet deliveries declined 20.4% to 644 aircraft in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Polycarboxylate is used in cement concrete application, cyanoacrylate adhesive is used in automotive interiors while acrylic sealants are used in aircraft to prevent corrosion and fuel leak. Hence, the decrease in productivity of such sector led to decrease in usage of adhesives and sealants in them.

From Shattered Shards to Sparkling Solutions: The Epoxy Fix
We've all been there. A favorite vase tumbles from the shelf, a cherished glass ornament meets the floor with a disheartening clink. Our hearts sink as we survey the wreckage – a once-beautiful object reduced to a pile of seemingly irreparable shards. But before you despair and reach for the recycling bin, consider the magic of epoxy. epoxy for floors tiles
Beyond the Bandage: Epoxy's Superpowers
Epoxy isn't just a household adhesive; it's a superhero in disguise. This remarkable two-part resin boasts a powerful combination of features that make it the perfect solution for restoring shattered glass treasures:
Unmatched Strength: When mixed and cured properly, epoxy forms an incredibly strong bond, often exceeding the tensile strength of the glass itself. This ensures your repaired object is not just aesthetically pleasing, but also functional and durable.
Crystal Clear Clarity: One of epoxy's most celebrated qualities is its exceptional clarity. Its refractive index closely matches that of glass, resulting in a virtually invisible repair. This is crucial for maintaining the original beauty of the object, especially for delicate or decorative pieces.
The Art of the Fix: Bringing Broken Dreams Back to Life
The beauty of epoxy lies in its versatility. Here's how it can breathe new life into your shattered dreams:
The Invisible Mender: For a seamless repair, use a thin layer of clear epoxy to precisely adhere the broken pieces. This technique works wonders for clean breaks on vases, picture frames, or even glasses.
The Golden Touch: Cracked glass doesn't have to be a death sentence. Embrace the "wabi-sabi" aesthetic (finding beauty in imperfection) by highlighting the crack with a touch of gold or silver mixed epoxy. This creates a unique, decorative accent.
Mosaic Magic: For shattered pieces beyond simple repair, don't despair! Transform the fragments into a stunning mosaic artwork. Use epoxy to adhere the shards onto a sturdy backing, creating a one-of-a-kind piece that celebrates the object's history.
Beyond Glass: Expanding Your Epoxy Expertise
While glass repair is epoxy's forte, its applications extend far beyond. Here are some additional ways to unleash its potential:
Jewelry Alchemy: Turn everyday materials into captivating treasures. Encapsulate beautiful dried flowers, leaves, or even small photographs in clear epoxy to create one-of-a-kind pendants, earrings, or rings.
Revamp Your Kitchen: Give your old cutting boards a new lease on life. Fill cracks or imperfections with epoxy for a seamless, hygienic surface. You can even add a decorative touch by incorporating seashells or coffee beans for a custom look.
Upcycle Like a Pro: Transform a boring mug or an outdated picture frame. Use metallic pigments mixed with epoxy to create a stunning, reflective finish. This breathes new life into old objects, reducing waste and saving you money.
Safety First, Creativity Always
Remember, safety is paramount when working with epoxy. Always wear gloves and safety glasses. Ensure proper ventilation in your workspace and avoid inhaling fumes. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for specific handling and curing times.
The Final Word: A Celebration of Restoration
The epoxy fix isn't just about mending broken objects; it's about celebrating their stories. By using epoxy, you breathe new life into cherished pieces, reduce waste, and unleash your inner artist. So, the next time disaster strikes, don't despair – grab your epoxy and get ready to transform shattered shards into sparkling solutions! Epoxy tile joint filler

A Comprehensive Guide to Repairing External Cracks in Your Home
From painting the walls to cutting the grass, there are a lot of duties associated with being a house owner. But, what about the external concrete? It’s easy to ignore until cracks begin to show. Don’t worry about your concrete cracks. You may restore your concrete surfaces to their previous glory by addressing cracks head-on and using elbow grease. Now, let’s look at how concrete contractors in Kissimmee, FL, do it and begin repairing those annoying cracks so that the exterior of your house stays immaculate and welcoming for many years to come.
First Step: Determining the Crack
Let’s first identify the type of crack we are working with. Is it growing, shrinking, or widening? Small cracks, often less than a quarter-inch in width, are quite easy to repair with a standard concrete patching mix. However, if it becomes larger or broader, it may require additional care. But don’t worry—we have answers for every type.
Second Step: Cleaning Up the Area
Let’s make sure everything is spotless before we begin any repairs. Pick up a pressure sprayer and some detergent to remove any accumulated dirt or debris. The patch will adhere better and remain longer on a clean surface. Not to mention, it feels strangely rewarding to watch all that dirt wash away.
Third Step: Mending the Holes
It’s time to close that gap now. Grab a putty trowel and your cement-based mending compound. Spreading it over the gap ensures that the compound gets into every nook and cranny. Let it air dry fully before moving on to the next stage. This procedure is like applying a little bandage to your concrete; it will quickly mend.
Fourth Step: Evening Out the Surface
Now that the patch has dried, it’s time to even everything out. Using a wire brush or sandpaper, carefully smooth the patch while leveling with the surrounding surface. It should appear and feel like it’s always been there. Enjoy the procedure and take your time; it’s surprisingly easy.
Fifth Step: Sealing the Pact
Sealing up your patch is crucial if you want it to last many years. Apply a sealant to shield the repaired area from dampness and weather damage. This additional layer of defense will keep the repair secure and in excellent condition.
Sixth Step: Protect Against Future Breaks
Now that you’ve professionally fixed that crack, let’s ensure that it doesn’t occur again. Think about covering your concrete surface with a protective substance. Other choices are available, such as epoxy or water-based acrylic coatings. You may feel secure knowing these coatings will keep your concrete sturdy and crack-free for many years.
Concluding Thoughts
Repairing cracks in concrete does not have to be difficult. You can fill up such gaps and maintain the greatest possible appearance in your home by following these easy procedures. If you ever feel overwhelmed, feel free to ask for assistance from concrete contractors in Tampa, FL. Your concrete will remain intact and durable for many years with a little maintenance, making your home a lovely and inviting place to live.

ugh. how i would make monster high customs of my cake ocs:
tropical soda: base clawd, with clawdia's slimmer (but still 'big sister', which is to say, tall) legs bc high heel sandals would be fun to make. clawdia's face is probably the best fit too, as long as her nose could be sanded down. i'd feel too mean sanding down her goregeous goregeous fangs, so if i'm keeping her ears i'm keeping those. sa is, technically, at nd roots, a dog, and glueing on ear fluff is absolutely essential and so fun. i would probably have to use yarn hair to get the volume- i'd need two different shades of orange and an accent light blue. their hat and shorts are canvas - i could probably repurpose a tote bag for that. i love painting canvas its such a good texture. uhhh bikini has to be authentically stretchy or i'd never forgive myself - but tbf it'd be so small i don't know where i would get fabric i'd like to use. bright orange string is easy to come by as trash on beaches, though. shirt i'm tempted to crochet, but idk if i would like the amount of texture, i think it would take away from the hair.
very berry: frayed satin ribbon and crepe and beaded skirt. okay now that's out of the way: i have no clue who i'd use as a base without having to buy epoxy :( possibly a g3 drac, but her arms are too skinny so maybe i'd replace em withhhhhh abbey's upper half? that be good because drac is super short, and abbey's face mould is pretty on the nose for a round-eyed and flat-nosed hollyberrian. the problem is that neither of them are as dark as kix. maybe catty will be (as of posting she's not released her) but colour correcting #00000 skin would be soo hard. sigh. i digress. if i could use as much silk as possible on her clothes that would be cute - using selvedge edges and such for her pettiskirt. purple and pink pleather would be perfect for her dragon-scale boots. and her handwrap might have to be crepe paper too idk how i'd make it sit close to the skin like real bandages. her other glove - ugh i dont even want to think about it, probably just buy a bunch of tiny pompoms and stitch them together. or beads!
black licorice: hahahahhahha i'd use a base from a entirely different doll line. something tiny skinny and toddler-sized in comparison to the monster highs. idk which maybe from the pixie lines from eah? i'd have to shrink the head in that case bc i hate the bobble headed look its so not cute. and we want him to be kind of creepy anyway :3c. i'd use hot glue for his goopy hair - if its not opaque blue-black i'll just paint over it. some glow-in-the-dark paint details would be cool too! painted black felt for his boots to give the congealed look
crowned cream: g3 frankie's head for sure, but cat demew's body for the claws, and so i don't have to build up the white that hard. I have blonde and white kanekalon for its hair and i'd like to make a crown out of glittery hot glue and red velvet. pleather and more velvet for her details, and some kind of suede?? i would 3d print the skull since i don't trust fimo clay
pomousse: ooh. howleen base, probably. again. the body is perfect..... more or less......... i can't use a g3 doll because she doesn't have the same smile and that's very important. i dont know, actually, but there's no little sister dolls with her skin tone so we can rule out not painting her at least. i have a perfect red for her hair that i could colour but im not sure its heat resistant? (its not) so itd be a little hard to twist into bantu knots. her dress is made of muslin and her robes of red linen.... but linen doesn't look great on doll scale so lets use polyester instead. id like to use sublimation paints for the intensity, but i dread to make her pattern ssksjskjsksksksks........

Uses for Sticky Pine Sap for Wilderness Survival and Self-Reliance:
Our ancestors walked woodlands learning to use the resources invisible to the modern eye. Learning to use natural resources can help get out of many "sticky" situations in the woods. Pine trees, for example, produce a sticky resource with many benefits. Pine Tree Sap can be gathered and stored in liquid or solid forms from inside the tree or on its trunk or branches. Its sticky substance has numerous benefits such as:
First Aid - antiseptic, astringent, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, bandage, stop bleeding, treat skin rashes, sore throats and colds.
Glue/Epoxy - Hafting arrowheads, fletching arrows, gluing primitive tools and weapons, waterproof boot seams, canoes, and containers, Patch holes in tents and tarps. Combined with powdered [black] Charcoal (1 part charcoal with 3 parts pine sap) it creates a very strong natural epoxy. Slowly melt the pine sap (prevent burning), let it simmer for 5-6 minutes to evaporate the turpentine so it doesn't catch on fire, stir in the charcoal powder and apply the epoxy mixture to the project to harden. The unused sap/charcoal mixture can be gathered on the end of a stick (like a popsicle for easy transport) and re-heated and reused indefinitely. [Video]    [Article]
Candling Device - Make a candle/torch by placing globs of dried resin on a stick or coating sticks or cloth with melted resin
Fire - pine sap is flammable and can help start or maintain a fire

I am learning a very many things today.
I should have put a few more coats of silicone on the brush-up mold of the horns.
I should have put a few more layers of plaster bandage in the mother mold.
The working time of Let's Resin epoxy is waaaay too long for slush casting, and I should have gotten urethane resin. Instead of a nice hollow pair of horns, I have ended up with plaster that has become so thoroughly impregnated with epoxy that I cannot crack the molds open and the whole thing is a wash.
The nuts that came in the bolt-on kit for the Adafruit Circuit Playground are too big for the shell housing to accommodate, and I'm going to have to solder these leads on like a pleb.

[100] - system meeting
04/61
EULOGY OF THE SLEEPING DESERT,
MORNING TEARS SETTLE AT THE TIP OF EACH SPINE,
LIFE POOLS IN THESE DROPS OF DEW TO BEGIN THE RENEWAL AGAIN,
THE UNIVERSAL MOTHER
IS CHEMICAL SCRIPTURE,
AND EVERY NIGHT THE AIR WEEPS, SINGING TO HER THAT IT HAS ALL SHE NEEDS
TO BEGIN AGAIN

04: so enlightenment isn't really the point for you?
96: not really. i don't feel that enlightenment can be reconciled with the physical nature of the animal that considers it. peace, maybe. once the world tilts, when it changes, enlightenment will have to change too. it's philosophy based on understanding, which is neuronally conditional, where peace is simply the absence of pain.
96: not to say that one is more obtainable than the other, but that is the distinction i choose.
04: and i'm guessing there is no end to the journey towards peace, no goalpost of achievement-
96: - only different ways to keep going. different ways to lessen pain. acceptance, denial, change. i think that is adequately human.
96: so maybe you can look at it as a challenge, a problem worthy of exploring methodology.
04: i guess that's why we're here. most of the concepts you and arc and ros and even buzzword follow do get cobbled together to bandage immediate crises, but i wouldn't say there's a consistent mindset i truly keep with me, just different kinds of answers to put away questions that don't leave on their own.
96: if all you ever have is a quilt of hope, that's enough.
96: and you can always shave your head and walk to india if it doesn't feel like enough yet.
---
04: [...] yeah? and what does love sound like?
61: ROARING WAVES; DEAFENING POWER, ENDLESS TIDES
04: then what does it look like?
61: OPEN PLAINS
61: OR IT LOOKS LIKE GLUE. IT BINDS MORE THAN ONE THING TOGETHER, MAYBE THAT MAKES IT BETTER, MAYBE WORSE, MAYBE IT NEVER DRIES, NO DESICCATION, POLYMERS STAY UNTANGLED.
61: BUT WHEN YOU PUT THOSE THINGS TOGETHER YOU CAN LOOK AT IT AND CALL IT NEW
61: A NEW THING, CHEMICALLY ATTACHED
61: OR IS IT LIKE WELDING? TWO PIECES ATTACHED AT THE MOLECULE?
61: LIKE AN ANT HILL?
61: GROWING FROM THE LOAM?
61: I THINK IT'S GLUE. IT CHANGES FORM, ONCE IT STOPS BEING WET AND USELESS IT BECOMES PART OF THE COMPOSITION. THE TWO PIECES CAN'T BECOME "ONE" WITHOUT THE THIRD PIECE,
61: THAT BEAUTIFUL HORSE HOOF, WHEAT PASTE, PVA, EPOXY; GLUE.
04: love is like a damp starch
61: AND COOL AIR

Nemesis Games [WIP]
“Towers of curved ceramic and steel made great piles, denser than mountains. Hair-thin wire hundreds of kilometers long stood on plastic spools taller than Filip.” (5)
“Filip shuffled down the rows of welding rigs and metal printers. Tubs of steel and ceramic dust fine than talcum. Spiral-core mounts. Layers of Kevlar and foam strike armor piled up like the biggest bed in the solar system.” (5)
“At the emergency ward, he found himself wheeled into an automated surgical bed not that different from the ones on the Rocinante.” (158)
“The passage was the usual design of inflated Mylar and titanium ribs.” (221-222)
“The curve was like the airlock on the Roci, and the design of the latch. Martian design. And more than that, Martian Navy.” (222)
"The bridge looked like the Rocinante's younger brother" (222)
“She pulled herself out of her crash couch and walked out to the common room. It was so much like the Roci’s galley that her brain kept trying to recognize it, failing, and trying again.” (262)
“Magnetic pallets locked to the decks and walls in neat rows. She wondered idly where it had all come from, and what promises had been given in exchange. She went to the nearest, plugged the array into the pallet, and popped it open. The crates unfolded.” (263)
“A toolbox in the machine shop had a bent hasp and, given a few minutes, could be forced open. The Allen wrenches inside would open the access panel on the lift wall between the crew quarters and the airlock, which was where the secondary diagnostic handset for the comm array was stored.” (304)
“While she worked, pressing the plastic into the seams, scraping out whatever had gathered there, doing it again, she tried to fit the new information into the larger scheme of things.” (306)
“When the deck was clean, she dropped the spatula into the recycler, stood, and stretched.” (307)
“In her bunk, her fingers laced behind her neck, she stared up at the blackness on the ceiling. The interface screen at her side was dead.” (311)
“The ship lurched hard, snapping the gimbals of the couches forty-five degrees to the deck.” (329)
“One bulkhead failed to open, reporting vacuum on the other side, and they had to backtrack.” (330)
“The comm array was unable to transmit either broadcast or tightbeam.” (330)
“She popped the straps loose and sat up, pulling her leg away from the needle.” (338)
“In the lift, she selected the machine shop and gripped the handholds as the mechanism dropped her down the body of the ship.” (338)
“The machine shop was empty, all the tools locked in place, but with enough tolerance that when the ship lurched, they all rattled: metal against metal like the ship itself was learning to talk.“ (338)
“She stumbled, her head crashing against the metal shelves.” (339)
“All the wrenches, epoxy welders, voltage meters, and cans of air and lubricant were strapped in place, She flipped through the close-packed layers to a line of Allen wrenches and plucked out the 10 mm.” (339)
“She gathered up a voltage tester, a wiring crimp, and a light-duty soldering iron and stuffed them in her pockets.” (339)
“She killed the lift between the crew quarters and the airlock, bracing herself so that the deceleration didn’t leave her trapped in the middle of empty air.” (340)
“The access panel was fifteen centimeters high and forty wide and opened on the major electrical routing through the center of the ship. If she cut though all the cables there with a welding torch, all the traffic would have rerouted instantly to other channels. Apart from a few warning indicators, nothing would happen.” (340)
“The screws were integral to the plate and didn’t come free, but she felt it when the metal threads lost their grip.” (340)
“Ten. The plate came free. She scooped up the handset, checking its charge. The batteries were nearly full. Connection read good.” (341)
“Channel eighteen was a comm array using the D4/L4 protocols that the Rocinante did for broadcast.” (341)
“Hand over hand, she pulled herself along the shaft and then into the corridors.” (342)
“The narrow corridors of the crew deck seemed too wide.” (344)
“The occasional ticking and popping of the expansion joins adjusting to shifts in temperature were like the knocking of ghosts.”(344)
“He undid the straps on his couch, floating forwards.” (346)
“He stopped at the med bay on the way to his quarters.” (346)
“Fred landed feetfirst on the wall, ankles hooked into the handholds like he’d been born in the Belt.”(348)
““All the bunks are the same,” Holden said. “Except mine. You can’t have mine.”" (349)
“The halls had the same anti-spalling covering that the bridge and the mess had, but marked with location codes and colored strips that would help navigate the ship. One line was deep red with HANGER BAY written in yellow Hindi, English, Bengali, Farsi, and Chinese.” (355)
“Across the corridor from Alex, Prime Minister Smith was huddled behind the lip of a doorway.” (356)
“Another burst of fire sang past, tearing long black strips from the walls and deck and filling the air with the smell of cordite.” (356)
“She drank the same version of chamomile tea that the Rocinante made, and it felt like having a secret ally.” (364)
“The mess was empty, the screens turned off and the crew set away.” (364)
“First drawer: gauze and bandages. Second drawer: one-use blood cards for maybe a hundred different field tests. Third drawer: emergency medical supplies like decompression kits, adrenaline shots, defibrillation tape.” (368)
“The medic had her sit up, the cushion of the medical table crackling under her shifting weight. The analgesic was a spray that went in Naomi’s mouth. It tasted like fake cherry and mold.” (369)
“The cabinet doors were open, spilling test cards and preloaded hypodermics across the floor.” (369)
“She fell to the side, her belly to the deck, decompression kits the size of her thumb pressing into her face as Miral writhed around to kneel on her back.” (369)
“She wanted to say something, but she couldn’t, so she just watched as Karal opened the door then closed it behind him. The lock slid closed.” (371)
“Wet with her saliva and no bigger than her thumb, it was the sort of thing any mech driver kept with her. A tiny ampoule of injectable oxygenated artificial blood and a panic button what would make an emergency medical request for an airlock to cycle.” (371)
“Fred held up the coffee cup. The name TACHI hadn’t quite worn off the side, red and black letters half-erased by use.” (381)
“The crash couch was bolted to the deck with thick steel and reinforced ceramic canted so that any direction the force came from was compression on one leg or another.” (407)
“The drawers were thinner metal, the same gauge, more or less, as the lockers. She pulled them out as far as they would open, examining the construction of the latches, the seams where the metal had been folded, searching for clues or inspiration.” (407)
“The tiny black thumb of the decompression kit, she kept tucked at her waist, ready to go if she could just find a way.” (407)
“The mirror was polished alloy built into the wall. No help there. If she could take apart the vacuum fan in the toilet...” (408)
“A simple EVA suit hung there, suspended in the null g by thin bands of elastic.” (423)
“The indicator went from green to red under her thumb.” (424)
“The airlock door closed behind him, the magnetic seals clacking.” (424)
“The lock was small enough he could put flat palms on both doors.” (424)
“Naomi thumbed the emergency override. Three options appeared: OPEN SHIP DOOR, OPEN OUTER DOOR, RETURN TO CYCLE.” (424)
“Without magnetic boots, she’d have to reach it with bare handholds, but she was close.” (426)
“She plucked the black thumb out of her belt, twisted it to expose the needle, and slammed it into her leg.” (426)
“The airlock indicator on the Chetzemoka’s skin blinked, the emergency response received, the cycle starting.” (426)
“There were handholds on the surface – some where deigned, but others were the protrusions of antennae and cameras.” (427)
“Maneuvering thrusters lit along the warship’s side, an ejection mass of superheated water glowing as it jetted out.” (427)
“And then, Mfume was gone, bolting up the ladder toward the cockpit faster than the lift would have taken him.” (431 - 432)
“Holden tapped in an order for another coffee.” (432)
“Finding Sun-yi and Gor wired into gaming googles shooting the crap out of each other in simulated battles – because as weapons techs with no one to shoot at they were getting antsy – stopped being weird and edged into sort of endearing.” (432)
“The hatch to the cockpit was closed, but Holden could still hear the wailing of the raï that Mfume liked to listen to during his shift in the pilot’s seat.” (433)
“Holden sat on the couch beside Fred’s and leaned in.” (433)
“The first disappointment was that the controls were in lockdown. She tried a few passwords – FreeNavy and Marcoisgreat and Filip – but even if she got it right, there was no reason to expect that they’d left the biometrics profiles turned off.” (448)
“The three EVA suits that remained didn’t have batteries or air bottles. The emergency rations were gone. She expected the toolboxes to be gone from the machine shop, but they’d taken out the racks that held them too, the drawers from the cabinets, the LEDs from the wall lights. The couches were all slit open, gel and padding pooled on the deck beside them. The drug delivery system and reservoirs were gone. The only water was in the drives; ejection mass to be spit out the back of the ship. The only food was the residue in the recyclers that hadn’t been processed back into anything edible. The stink of welding rigs and burning still hang in the air, so the air recycler was probably running unfiltered.” (449)
“The deck shook under her, the vibration of thrust setting up resonances that no system even tried to damp down.” (449)
“There should be a way through the machine shop. All machine shops were supposed to be connected at the back.” (449)
“The EVA suits weren’t powered and didn’t have bottles, but they had seals and reinforcement. She could take the cloth apart, and salvage some lengths of wire. Maybe something solid enough to cut with. And could she use the helmet clamps as a kind of vise grip or clamp?” (450)
