Got the PDF proof for my sci-fi short story today! This one will appear in THE FANS ARE BURIED TALES from Crazy 8 Press, edited by Peter & Kathleen David. The theme of this antho is that a snowstorm strikes a popular convention, stranding all the fans and cosplayers, and to pass the time, they tell each other stories from their fandoms (kinda like The Canterbury Tales). My story “The Space Opera Fan’s Tale (or, Intergalactic Journeys S6 E8: Ruins in the Sky)” is basically a Star Trek fan fic, about Ensign Oliver Gao’s first time leading an away mission… ahem… off-ship assignment. Tasked with assisting archaeologists who are excavating an ancient space station, Ollie soon finds himself in a dangerous situation when the station’s AI suddenly comes online… THE FANS ARE BURIED TALES will be coming your way soon!
