Yes! They're so cute! Ridiculously cute! And, twice as unfair, Tristan's freckles are allowed, because he is particolor. Technically the disallowed marking is the white on her face; solid coats can have only a trace of white on the chest. INJUSTICE. Every cocker should get to have freckles, even the solid colors.

your home with chris now felt a lot quieter once your kids had left home. either it was for college or to build a life with their partner, the space that once held so much high pitched squeals and resonating laughter had now returned to the peace it once was—a distant time before your little angels carved their existences into both your lives.

the first couple of weeks were the hardest for chris. his life used to revolve around your kids, and shaking off a couple decades worth of habit isn’t something one could do in a snap of a finger. you’d often catch chris being glued to his screen, lips forming a tender smile when a familiar laugh or whine would resonate from his speakers, and you would join him—a reminder that you’re still there with him while you reminisce the silly little things your babies would do.

as weeks turns to months, chris slowly returns to his usual self. since work is no longer as hectic as it used to be for chris, he’s slowly finding other hobbies as a way to spend his time—some days it’s playing his favorite game, some others it’s watching movies, a portion went to catching up with his friends, with a sprinkle of little pranks and light jokes once within a few hours whenever he catches you off guard.

none of that, however, wins against the time he spent playing with your newly adopted dog.

after your previous family dog passed away to old age, your entire family had found it difficult to replace their presence. they have been a part of your family for years after all, and your family has been trying to honor his memory for the longest time. with your kids moving away, however, chris finally decided that it’s time to bring a new life home—and he’s found it in a form of a 7 months old english cocker spaniel.

with the presence of the new little ball of sunshine at home, you finally saw the twinkle of joy fully returning to the reflection on chris’ eyes. he’d spend hours playing with the puppy while you prepare dinner, he’d excitedly take them for walks first thing in the morning, he’d definitely let the puppy sleep on his lap while having an arm around your shoulder, enjoying another movie night in your cozy bed.

chris finally enjoys his time as an empty nester, and in those tender little moments,

it’s as if you could see every version of chris that made you stay.

✎ Anri seems like a cat person. Imagine her doing paperwork for the Blue Lock project with a cat sitting next to her desk for company. It would be really sweet and having a cute cat would help her deal with the stress of working for Ego.

✎ I imagine her cat to look and act like Marie from Aristocats. An elegant and cute white cat with a pink bow.

✎ I can not explain why but this man has a goldfish. It's a basic pet, but it's low maintenance and Isagi finds them interesting. Probably has the fishbowl on a small desk in his room so he can look at it when he needs a break from studying.

✎ He got it in elementary school so he named it Bubbles and Bubbles is still with him to this very day

✎ I'm imagining Lady from the movie Lady and The Tramp. Originally it was Chigiri's sister who wanted a dog. Chigiri was kind of like meh the dog is okay. Eventually, he and the dog developed an unshakable bond. Chigiri would be doing his hair care and then his dog walks over and sits patiently beside him waiting for Chigiri to finish so that he can brush the dog's coat.

✎ Lady is an English cocker spaniel and that breed specifically requires their fur to be brushed a lot so Chigiri and his dog basically do hair care nights together. They go running together at the park every morning or afternoon.

✎ Does not like animals. His neatfreak-ness does not allow him to tolerate creatures in his house.

✎ If he had to have a pet it would be a naked mole rat. Y'all ever watch Kim Possible? You remember Ron Stoppable? You remember his pet naked mole rat Rufus? Yep. That's Barou's pet.

✎ Has a German Shepherd. Together they are a menace to society. When Raichi arrives with his German Shepherd at the park everyone immediately leaves. Raichi races his dog all the time and together they chase away all of the birds and squirrels in the surrounding area.

✎ Raichi's German Shepherd is very protective of his owner but will not attack anyone unless Raichi says it's okay. The dog is as chaotic as its owner but is well trained so everything is okay. Kind of...

It's a Welsh breed! Pair of breeds, actually - the little cute one from Pembrokeshire that looks like it belongs on a twee greetings card with a duckling on its head, and the big Carmarthenshire one that looks like it is straining every second of every day not to hunt down a cow and slaughter it. Funnily enough, America has gone feral for corgis, but here in Wales you don't often see pet ones. They don't have the temperament for pet life. I assume it's maybe a working-line Vs pet-line thing, but here their reputation is that they are snappy and aggressive if they aren't very, very carefully raised and handled.

The correct plural is corgwn, btw. Enjoy this knowledge.

Other Welsh breeds with Welsh names:

Llamgi Cymreig - the Welsh springer spaniel. 'Spaniel' is actually Sbaengi, meaning 'Spain dog', so cognate with the English, but llamgi is 'jumping/springing dog'.

Daeargi Cymreig - the Welsh terrier. Daeargi means 'earth dog', because of the traditional chasing things into setts and warrens thing. The Sealyham terrier is daeargi Sealyham, so same thing

And, Ci Defaid Cymreig - the Welsh sheepdog, pretty literal

And then non-Welsh breeds are varyingly named along similar lines. Sbaengi adara - the cocker spaniel (lit 'bird Spain dog'). Sbaengi hela - the English Springer (lit 'hunting Spain dog'). Sbaengi Siarl - the King Charles spaniel (lit 'Charles' Spain dog')

Ci defaid is generically used for collie or sheepdog.

Cairn terrier - daeargi byrgoes (shortleg earth dog)

Fox terrier is fun, it gets DIALECTS. Daeargi/ci codi llwynog (fox-raising earth dog/dog) in the North, ci codi cadno (fox-raising dog) in the South

Maltese terrier - daeargi Melita

Scotch terrier - daeargi Albanaidd/Sgotaidd

Skye terrier - daeargi Heledd (who is Heledd???)

Toy terrier - corddaeargim (dwarf earth dog! The 'cor' is the same as in corgi)

Rorke - Great Dane. Fun fact, pretty sure he's the tallest of the bunch. I could have said smthn like a xolo but the bald jokes get stale eventually. Beating a dead horse. A bald horse.

Elias - German Shepherd. Should not be surprised here. Or maybe you are... but Sheps are really good family dogs on top of being good working dogs. High energy and protective. Good outdoors dog.

Hesh - Beagle. You know why Beagles get used a lot in animal testing? Because they're very forgiving. Also loud, they like to bark/bray at things, but at the same time with the goofy adorableness they're pretty intelligent.

Logan - Golden Retriever. Call me predictable if you'd like, but it goes beyond the stereotypical image of a blonde haired dog. Goldens are also known to be very loving and gentle, hence the whole "golden retriever boyfriend" thing. Also very obedient!

Merrick - Rottweiler. LOOK at them okay, they seem so grumpy but these dogs are also strong and loyal. Just like Merrick. Also rottie growls are so funny, they're saying "I love you" but it's terrifying sounding. 100% Merrick.

Keegan - Doberman Pincer. So emo... so chic... intelligent brave and loyal! Literally him. Argue with the wall.

Ajax - English Cocker Spaniel. They're known for being cheerful and playful, and while we didn't see a lot of Ajax I adore the idea that he's outwardly opposite to Keegan. (Who's kinda quiet and serious.)

Kick - Dachshund. Small, sausage dogs, and goofy looking. But not to be underestimated, these dogs are actually very courageous and fun fact: They're a hunting breed. They also make good watchdogs.

Neptune - Newfoundland. Water dogs! Also very big boys, though that plays less into why I think they're a Neptune dog. Also known to be calm + gentle giants.

It's actually kind of amazing that my one experience with a Shit Breeder and my families experience with Piper being Piper has driven both of my siblings into dog world too. My brother is looking into an English Cocker Spaniel show prospect and has had multiple breeders offer him dogs he had to turn down because it didn't work with his schedule. My other sibling has reached out to a Pomeranian breeder about a potential future co-own.

I lost my mind and drew so much of my seungchan hybrids from my series on ao3, I adore these two so much ahahaha. The series is pretty dark so I just wanted to make something cute for it, Chans a wolfdog (High wolf content, American Akita) and Seungmin is an English Cocker Spaniel.
