Robe à l'Anglaise - c.1770-1780

Unlike the robe à la française (French Gown), which has pleats falling from the shoulders, the robe à l'anglaise (English dress) has a full fitted waist. A low square neckline with a fichu scarf for both elegance and modesty sake which matched the engageantes (false sleeves).

The dress is made of silk woven taffeta adorned with floral embroidery which was common all throughout the late baroque period (Rococo). The more simplistic design suggests the beginning of the neoclassical movement (circa.1760-1850).

some simple (but plentiful!!!) sprites for you all today. just some outfit swaps! the alpha kids did not get nearly enough cool outfits, so i decided to see what they'd look like with some modified beta kid outfits. some look decent, but others look very nice! i also did it the other way around too, because whynot.

Me: I came across Zizi once and I liked that one

Me: but then I found out that was French slang for penis

Me: Nibling!

Friend: yeah! And then there’s sibling

Me: okay so yeah, nibling starts with an N because it’s taken from sibling and niece and nephew are N words. But aunt and uncle don’t match and they’re vowels

Friend: ibling?

Me: yeah! Ib Stone
