What a luxury it is to be born in America speaking English and never have to learn another language and being complacent while the rest of the world coddles you
The root of most of the world’s problems is diseased hearts. Hearts which do not know Allah, hearts which are full of arrogance, greed and selfishness. Hearts which have become corrupted by sins and no longer taste the sweetness of īmān. Hearts torn apart by pride, envy and hatred, resulting in a fractured Ummah.
I need people on Tumblr to understand that a Palestinian (or Sudanese or Congolese or literally anyone requesting mutual aid) person using the same text in their posts as another Palestinian person when asking for aid is not necessarily a bot. There are these things called scripts, and these are often written by people with mastery of English for those without to plug their information into so that they have a lower chance of miscommunicating their needs. Because these people who write these scripts care about other human beings and want to help them get their needs met. You have GOT to stop going into the replies of people’s posts where they are literally begging for aid so that their families can stay alive and saying “oh this is probably a bot they sound suspiciously like x other blog.”
Also, understand that on gofundme, people who do not currently live in the affected region almost always start the campaign for people they know and love who are trapped in a location undergoing active genocide, because they have stable access to the internet and their loved ones don’t. Sometimes they provide introductory text on the gofundme page before putting their loved ones’ translated messages, but sometimes they don’t. Just because the location of the organizer is somewhere other than Gaza and the text of the fundraiser is from someone still in Gaza does not mean the campaign is fraudulent. DO NOT REPORT PEOPLE BASED ON THIS. DO NOT REPLY TO THEIR POSTS WARNING PEOPLE OFF AND BOASTING OF YOUR “CLEVER DETECTIVE WORK.” YOU ARE NOT AS CLEVER AS YOU BELIEVE.
You know what you can do instead? Actually talk to the person! All you have to do is assume the person you’re talking to is human and treat them with basic human decency. If you aren’t sure about someone’s fundraiser, go into their DMs and tell them you’re sorry for what’s happening to them! Say that your heart goes out to their families! Ask if they need an eSIM. Tell them that you’d like to know more about their situation because you want to make a post for them. It will become clear pretty fucking quickly whether they’re a bot or not. This has the triple benefit of a) making them feel like people give a shit about them b) helping their campaign reach a wider audience and c) teaching you to be less of a suspicious asshole who would rather ruin a real person’s only hope of FUCKING SURVIVAL on the off chance of being right on the internet.
i'm very confused about the animosity toward the term 'martyr' because even though i understand that in english the word doesn't carry the same implications as in arabic (the "witness" part) but i'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with the english word either? what are people mad about exactly?
aughhh imagine...if new DR episodes (or any episodes) were actually leaked in arabic early...whether if it was leaked w/ other languages or not...I'd immediately watch the hell out of that...a girl can only dream
can argue to death with me about how age restrictions on youtube are necessary but i will be DAMNED before i say Hinds Hall deserved to be age restricted. average american child on youtube can listen to H*rbu D*rbu (censoring in hopes to avoid algorithm engagement with the song) which is IOF praising genocidal propaganda, and- big fucking shocker- its not age restricted. i’m 100% sure the only reason Hind’s Hall was restricted was to deliberately suppress and avoid the spread of the song.
why does every article reporting on idf war crimes go "hamas, who started the war on october 7th with their brutal terrorist attack slaughtering innocent israeli civilians, has condemned the idf's use of-"? like, nearly verbatim every single time. we know about october 7th. we know by now. half the time, hamas isnt even relevant but they gotta find some way to sow doubt and numb any potential compassion responses. will you get fired if you show sympathy for murdered palestinian civilians without first adding a disclaimer saying its all their fault for being born in gaza? if you call "palestinians under 18" children? if you use the words "murdered" or "brutal" or "massacre" for acts that didnt occur on october 7th? if you call a spade a spade? why are israeli reports front page news without proper fact-checking but palestinian reporting is always "allegedly" even when theres video evidence? why does the idf not get the hamas treatment of reminding everyone that theyre biased before treating their words as law, like they havent been caught bold-faced lying again and again?
