Rune Art: Enchanted Runes Oracle Deck by Jennifer Cabanaw
Enchanted Runes Oracle Deck by Jennifer Cabanaw.
A rune deck successfully backed upon Kickstarter in 2023.
Imagine, you are strolling through an enchanted forest, where you believed the whispering winds carried secrets known only to the trees, when you notice a hooded man sitting at the base of Yggdrasil. Two ravens perched upon his shoulders are cawing at you to come closer. Entranced, you step forward. Odin, the wise god of Norse mythology, cast his one good eye upon your humble, human form. With a knowing smile, he extended his hand, and all twenty-four of the shimmering runes, glowing with ethereal power, materialized as cards before you. They floated gently into your outstretched palm, filling you with a sense of ancient knowledge and deep connection to the cosmos. The Enchanted Runes Oracle is now spread out in front of you, the ravens still cawing in the background. Your hand now hovered over the deck before feeling a source of energy to draw forth a card. It was as if the very cosmos held its breath in that moment, for the chosen card would unveil the secrets of the seeker's destiny. You turn the card over, and the rune tied to your fate is..?
Hello Curious Wanderer,
What card will you draw?
Creating this oracle feels like it has been my whole world for quite some time now, and I am beyond excited to finally share this passion project with you in its final steps of the journey! My deepest wish is that these runes add an extra touch of enchantment to your world.
LET'S BEGIN!
The twenty-four runes of the Elder Futhark were created into twenty-four unique acrylic paintings to produce the Enchanted Runes oracle deck. Each one has its own style! I feel like this gives the individual card its own energy in a way. I hold each rune so close, so I wanted them to feel different, enchanting, mesmerizing, special, and to each have their own captivating and symbolic imprint.

Pick A Card Reading - The Rest Of January 2024
Pick based on number or animal or however you want to. Pile 1 is Cat, Pile 2 is Bear, Pile 3 is Bunny, and Pile 4 is Dog.
There is also a video uploaded on youtube for this reading - support on there is supported.
Readings are under the read more.
Pile 1/Cat
This was a bit of a confusing pile, since it seemed like there were multiple messages in it that didn't seem to go together.
The first tarot card for this pile was the Knight of Pentacles. This card is often associated with slow progress. A lot of focusing on details with this card.
The second tarot card for this pile was the Page of Pentacles. This card is associated with learning new skills, likely something that you can use to earn money/further your career in some way with this card being a Pentacle.
The third tarot card for this pile was The Emperor. This card is often associated with taking charge and being a leader. I feel like this is what you're working towards and/or trying to behave like.
The kipper cards for this pile were House and Thoughts. This suggests some thoughts about the house occurring for you. This can be thinking about some changes to the home or the dynamic in the home.
The lenormand cards for this pile were Heart and Child. This can be associated with a first love/past sweetheart. I also feel like this can be connected to caring for a child (likely yours if you have one) - with that aspect, I think that some of the thoughts related to the house may be connected to changes associated with the child's growth/desire for more independence.
The affirmation card for this pile was I Am At Ease And Happy When I Am On My Own. Basically, about not relying on others for your happiness.
The love oracle card for this pile was 32. Undeniable Evidence. This is associated with some kind of physical evidence of a relationship (like how rings are associated with engagement and marriage). This does suggest that a relationship (if you are in one) may get a bit more serious, as someone gives some kind of token to show commitment to the connection.
The oracle cards for this pile were Choosing Your Path - All Is Possible and Horse - Care For Others And Let Them Be Free. I feel like the choosing your path is something that many of you have been in the process of doing with the tarot cards that had came out. I feel like the path many of you are choosing/have chosen/are being encouraged to choose is one that has you in more of a leadership role, whether that is even simply you being in more control of your life. The horse card I feel like relates to those of you that having a child/the changes involving a child dynamic since it's you trying to find a balance on showing your care but also not controlling them too much. Even for those of you without the child dynamic, it can be about examining your behavior in relationships if there is a tendency to wish to control/change others.
The runes for this pile were Hagalaz and The Rings. Hagalaz can be rather destructive and testing. This does suggest that you're going through some testing times. The Rings are associated with commitments and partnerships. I do like that rings with that Undeniable Evidence card for those of you that are in a serious relationship.
Pile 2/Bear
The first tarot card for this pile was the 9 of Pentacles. This is associated with independence and having worked hard to get to where you are at.
The second tarot card for this pile was the 6 of Cups reversed. This card is often associated with the past. With it coming out reversed, it suggests that there may be a bit of living in the past or dwelling on the past quite a bit.
The third tarot card for this pile was the Ace of Cups. This suggests a new emotional opportunity or outlet is in store for you.
The kipper cards for this pile were Pathway and Child. I feel like this can be interpreted a few ways. The main one that I feel is that you are being encouraged to make a choice with an innocent, unbiased perspective. Another is that you are having to make a choice related to a child, whether it is related to a child that you have or if you are considering having children.
The lenormand cards for this pile were Garden and Book. This has to with secrecy and groups. This could be connected to a meeting of some sorts that you're keeping a secret. It could also represent a meeting/gathering/etc where you learn some kind of secret or information that you hadn't known prior.
The affirmation card for this pile was I Have The Courage To Be The Happiest Healthiest Version Of Myself. This is encouragement to focus on yourself and being your best self.
The love oracle card for this pile was 30. Futile Waiting. This card suggests that you may be holding onto someone who isn't sincere or going to return. Like you're taking a vow much more seriously than they are. That could be connected to that 6 of Cups reversed that came out in the tarot.
The oracle cards for this pile were Wondrous Universe - Walk In Beauty and Deer - Trust In The Support Of The Universe. Basically, I feel like both of these are encouraging you to trust that the universe has your back and you aren't taking everything on by yourself.
The runes for this pile were Othala and the Moon. Othala is connected to values and other things that you inherited from ancestors. I feel like this goes along with trusting that the universe has your back, as well as your ancestors. The Moon is associated with mystery, transitions, and feminine energy. Basically, you're experiencing changes and it can feel like there's more going on than you can see.
Pile 3/Bunny
The first tarot card for this pile was Temperance. This is connected to patience and remaining calm. Basically, I feel like you're trying to remain level-headed despite the challenges that are getting thrown at you.
The second tarot card for this pile was the 9 of Wands. This is connected with standing your ground despite the challenges that are coming at you, many of which are often repetitive issues. These challenges can be rather tiring and are likely wearing you out.
The third tarot card for this pile was the King of Pentacles. This is someone who is very practical and good with the finances. This again suggests to me that you are trying to be practical with how you're handling situations.
The kipper cards for this pile were Main Female and Family Room. The main female card often represents you (or a significant female in your life, likely a family member in this case with the Family Room card). I feel like you're likely focusing on your family at this time, possibly taking on more responsibility for some reason as that King of Pentacles.
The lenormand cards for this pile were Fox and Mice. This can suggest some issues at work, involving deception or other issues. There can also be gaslighting or suspicions involved here.
The affirmation card for this pile was Whatever I Choose To Believe Comes True For Me.
The love oracle card for this pile was 2. Unrequited Love. This can involve unrequited love as it is usually thought of. It can also involve someone being oblivious to someone else's crush/feelings for them.
The oracle cards for this pile were Staying Focused - Hold The Course and Badger - Bring Your Life Into Balance. I feel like these are all things that you're working on doing and are being encouraged to keep doing.
The runes for this pile were Tiwaz and The Crossroads. Tiwaz is associated with leadership and authority. It is also connected with knowing your own strengths and a willingness to self-sacrifice. The Crossroads is associated with making changes and/or having choices to make.
Pile 4/Dog
The first tarot card for this pile was the 8 of Pentacles. This is associated with working on things and getting them done. It can also be associated with working on mastering a skill.
The second tarot card for this pile was the 2 of Swords. This is associated with having to make a difficult choice. Sometimes this choice is difficult because you don't want to make it. I feel like this choice is connected to having to choose to pursue your dreams or stick with something that you've been working on for awhile.
The third tarot card for this pile was The Star. This is associated with hopes and healing.
The kipper cards for this pile were Unexpected Income and Lovers. This does kinda give me sugar daddy vibes. It could also be like a relationship comes in unexpectedly. Possibly learning that a partner has more money/financial security than they previously let on.
The lenormand cards for this pile were Key and Whip. Together these cards can suggest an angry/aggressive response. I also feel like it could also be an aggressive realization/secret coming out.
The affirmation card for this pile was Every Experience In My Life Helps Me To Grow. Basically, trying to look at even the unpleasant situations as a stepping stone that helped you grow, whether it was simply learning that you didn't want to be in that type of situation again.
The love oracle card for this pile was 43. Object Of Ridicule. This card is associated with someone coming at you with the intent to mock you or trying to make a fool out of you. I feel like you don't let it get to you too much and are able to see how it simply makes that person out to be a creep for having those intentions.
The oracle cards for this pile were Overcoming Obstacles - You Can Overcome Anything and Cow - Give With Unconditional Love And Grace. Basically, you're more capable than you may realize and not blocking yourself off from giving/showing love.
The runes for this pile were Kenaz and the Woman. Kenaz is connected to passion, creativity, and revelations. The Woman is associated with feminine energy, possibly literally representing a woman. It can also be associated with a healing and nurturing energy, like The Empress.

Techno Magic Crash Course
Hello World! (hehe)
Ive noticed a lack of information on techno-magic and what being a tech witch might entail! Tech magic is the use of modern-day technology in our magical practices! This can be a secular practice OR someone may pair other aspects of theology into it! There is also 'Technopaganism' which is the merge of neopaganism and digital magic. Some people may worship tech and its energy or some people simply use it as a tool for ritual magic!
In this post I wanted to showcase a few ideas to get you started in the tech practice! The first section being common tools, the second is common tech practices, and the last is about how to take steps into your new tech practice and advance forward!
First: The tools To get started here are some amazing apps people might get on their phones to carry magic anywhere
The Moon is an iphone based calander with a bunch of free information about the phases of the moon and even crystals and intentions related to the phase!
Rune reading on the Google Play Store this is a divination app in relation to runes!
Citrine Circle is a great crystal data base to keep track of crystal you either have or want to get
Time Passages is a free chart reader that will read your whole astrological chart!
Labrynthos is a free tarot app that not only gives you access to free tarot, oracle, and lenormand decks, but it teaches you how to read them
Next are physical or digital items you can use in your craft, I will go in more detail in the sections to follow!
Computers, phones, tablets
Mouse
Keyboards
Applications and websites
coding platforms
Second: The Practice
This section is all about creating ideas to use for your craft! This section is all about how to integrate common witchy things into your craft! There are thousands of ways to do this so it would be impossible for me to share every idea but hopefully, these get your creative juices flowing
Cleanse using music or beats you enjoy over a speaker
Use mechanical processes in your spells (for example your cars computer could be a green light charm if you hate waiting in red lights)
Create digital grimoires on places like notation or google docs
Create altars on places like Pinterest or sandbox games
Play video games with intentions, like tycoon games for prosperity and FPS for warding
Use autotune during chants to add more power to your voice
Use screens for scrying or intuition practices
Shufflemancy is when you shuffle through a playlist and get a song as a form of divination
Use the energy of a crystal on your screen if you don't physically have one
create digital sigils and hide them around your electronics
Learn a coding language and mess around with enchanting code
Third: How to move forward
So now that you have a few recommendations how can you advance? first research, check out some of these sources for even more information
Tech Magick for Digital Witches
Other Community tech posts
Wiki on technopaganism
Cyber Spell books (Note this was written in 2002 so it is very outdated, however it is actually one of the more recent ones I see online)
Now, Research is going to be the backbone of any practice, however, tech magic doesn't have definite rules so experimentation is going to be your best friend so here are my top tips
If you learn about a new practice ask yourself how you can make it digital (like crystals and the crystals in your phone)
Look deeper into the practice, as you explore how your computer works ask yourself 'why' frequently and question how things work
look into superstitions coders and virtual friends have in relation to computers, are they rooted in anything?
I think that is all for today friends! I hope you all enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to post them in the comments!

My Appearance as an Angelic Oracle at The Spirit University "Enchanted Tides" Psychic Faire comes this June 24th, 2023
Psychic Readers * Tarot Readers * Medium Readers * Scrying * Seashell Divination *Mini Store * Lectures * Mini-Workshops
Hello All,
Come this June 24th here in Sarasota, Florida I'll be appearing as one of the five or so psychics doing divination readings. There will also be one energy healer in attendance.
The Spirit University is celebrating its 12th year anniversary with this showcase psychic faire on Saturday, June 24th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Where they'll have 15 or so guest speakers with 15-minute rotations on a variety of New Age topics. At the very end of the speakers, line-up at 2:45 pm the school founder Victoria Ackerman will be doing a mediumship gallery for all in attendance. All standard psychic readings charge a rate of $20 for 15 minutes at the fair beyond the $5 admission cover charge.
I'll be debuting in public an all-original Multi-Deck Divination System I channeled from the angelic heavenly host and evolved during the Covid-19 Lockdown period. It's a Cartomancers Smorgasbord revival utilizing 12-card decks and not the solitary one-card deck most Tarot users employ.
For example, I'll be utilizing Tarot, Lenormand, Kipper, Mah Jong cards, miscellaneous Oracle decks, and other irregular misc decks overall. It employs Five Layers of Psychic Divination besides the card decks I'll also utilize an astrological set of 3 dice, a set of 13 Witches or Gypsy Runes, a set of Viking Elder Futhark Runes, and finally my trusty Pendulum connected to my Master Angelic Spirit Guide.
Each reading takes a minimum of at least 30 minutes which I'll be charging double the psychic reading standard rate for $40 a session with yours truly.
I'll also be inquiring with my clients if they wish that I hold onto their Multi-Deck divination reading. For a subsequent Blessing Ceremony which is basically, to upload the card spread to the angelic heavens from my home altar at a later date.
You see the the Multi-Deck divination system doesn't reshuffle the cards back into their respective decks after an individual card spread reading. My marble altar table at home can mount up to 65 horizontally stacked card spreads. That can take up to a full month to achieve a complete load.
The Spirit University is located at 373 Braden Ave, Sarasota, Florida 34243 and their website is at:
Ivan "Atrayo" Pozo-Illas, has devoted 27 plus years of his life to the pursuit of clairaudient Inspired automatic writing channeling the Angelic Heavenly host. Ivan is the author of the spiritual wisdom series "Jewels of Truth" consisting of 3 volumes published to date. He also utilizes a unique channeled angelic divination method called the Multi-Deck Divination System. Numerous examples of his work are available at "Atrayo's Oracle" blog site of 17 years plus online. You're welcome to visit his website "Jewelsoftruth.us" for further information or to contact Atrayo directly.

Hello there! The name is Artymess, sometimes Arty. I am a stay at home sensitive Cancer mother of 2 spicy fire signs, as well as married to a stubborn Scorpio. I am also 420 friendly.
I am nuerodivergent as well, so that adds a little extra flavor to my life. Between the ADHD, Executive Dysfunction, Anxiety and OCD - things are pretty eventful sometimes.
🃏 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🌟⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🃏
My main hobbies are:
A huge passion for reading, my TBR list is absurdly large but I can't seem to stop adding to it.
Anime! It's a part of my life blood at this point. Some of my tops are; Attack on Titan(Eren is bae idc), My Hero Academia, Fruits Basket, One Punch Man, ATLA, LoK, When They Cry, Arifureta, Bofuri, Black Clover, Bleach and Spy X Family.
Video games with my husband almost every day, some of our favorites include; Assassin's Creed(Black Flag, Origins & Odyssey) Stardew Valley, Deep Rock Galactic, Paladins and I personally love ESO.
Crochet is something I really find peace and enjoyment in. I was taught by a coworker one day almost 6 years ago now, took her 15 minutes to get show me the basic stitch and I had it down after that. Since then my yarn stash and pattern cache has grown immensely huge.
🃏 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🌟⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🃏
I am graciously blessed with two absolutely lovable black cat familiars to traverse this journey with me and they are a huge part of me both in and out of my practice.
I found my witch path, Eclectic, during my Saturn Return and never looked back. One of the first things I dove into and learned about was the divination art of Tarot and Oracle cards. I quickly fell in love, with the shuffling, with the feel of a deck in my head, with the wisdom that flew around when I channeled the cards - I fell in love with all of it. I have also found the comfort of working with Freya the Norse Goddess as well as Hestia the Greek Goddess.
As far as my practice goes, I've dabbled in a lot trying to find what fits best.
🃏 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🌟⋆ 🌺 ⋆ 🍄 ⋆ 🌿 ⋆ 🃏
Things I include in my practice:
Tarot & Oracle
Pendulum
Animist Magic
Deity Work
Green Witchcraft
Astrology
Numerology
Spells & Incantations
Enchantments & Charms
Protection Magic
Crystals
Candle Magic
Incense Cleansing
Some fun things I've done during my practice so far have been:
Gotten really into plants, in fact my spider plant has had so many babies I'm getting overrun.
Crocheted a blanket for a friend and embedded a rune of prosperity onto it, as they were moving to a new state. (So far they've done really well & they moved to a much more expensive state.)
Made a travel protection jar for my FIL who travels to visit us every few months.
Helped a friend figure out a patron deity, twice, that was seeking to work with them, they still work with one of them today.

Witchcraft Wednesday
🌙 Welcome to Witchcraft Wednesday! 🌙
On this enchanting day, we delve into the mystical world of witchcraft, where ancient wisdom, intuition, and the power of intention intertwine. Whether you're a seasoned witch or just beginning to explore the magical arts, Witchcraft Wednesday is here to inspire and empower you on your journey.
Today, let's dive into the fascinating realm of divination. Divination is a powerful tool that allows us to tap into the energies of the universe, gain insights, and seek guidance for our path ahead. There are various forms of divination, each with its unique methods and symbols. Let's explore a few popular ones:
🔮 Tarot: Tarot cards are a well-known divination tool consisting of a deck of 78 cards. Each card carries its own symbolism and meaning, providing insights into different aspects of our lives. By working with the tarot, we can gain clarity, uncover hidden truths, and receive guidance on our spiritual journey.
🌿 Runes: Runes are ancient symbols used for divination, originating from the Norse and Germanic cultures. Each runic symbol represents a concept or energy, and by casting or drawing runes, we can tap into their wisdom and receive guidance for our questions or concerns.
🕯️ Scrying: Scrying is the practice of gazing into a reflective surface, such as a crystal ball, mirror, or water, to access higher realms of consciousness. Through scrying, we can receive visions, symbols, or messages that provide insight and guidance.
🌟 Oracle Cards: Oracle cards are similar to tarot cards but often have a more gentle and intuitive approach. They contain messages and affirmations that guide us on our spiritual path, offering clarity and support when we seek answers or inspiration.
💫 Pendulum: A pendulum is a weighted object suspended from a chain or string. By holding the pendulum and asking yes or no questions, we can receive answers based on the subtle movements of the pendulum. It serves as a direct link to our intuition and the divine energies guiding us.
Whichever form of divination resonates with you, remember that it's a tool to enhance your intuition and connection to the spiritual realm. Trust your instincts, set clear intentions, and approach divination with an open mind and heart.
Share your favorite divination practices or ask any questions you have about witchcraft and divination in the comments below. Let's embrace the magic and wisdom that comes from exploring the mystical arts together!

Decks On My Desk - February 23, 2023
It was an intensely messy week for my desk this week. Technically, there were more decks on my desk but I started cleaning before work this morning and forgot I was starting this little series. Whoops!
Left hand column:
Light Visions, Prisma Visions, and Cosma Visions in both standard and little editions, all by James Eads. It's been a James Eads week here on my desk in general. I still want to do a full overview of my feelings on these decks another time, so for now just know I am still in love with the Littles and it is giving me a new appreciation of the full size decks. (Not a deck, but the Geomantic Visions coins are also out on my desk, I am that committed to it being a James Eads week.)
Top Row, left to right:
Mystical Manga Tarot. This was a big one for me in January-- somehow I actually haven't read with it at all in February! It's actually out because I was rummaging through some other decks and it happened to land on my desk in the process. Lovely deck, just not in current use.
Mermaid Tarot. Covered this one last week, it is still out because it is one of my workhorse, all purpose readers and I am feeling that watery energy. (Can I blame Pisces season even though I don't know what I am talking about? Sure.)
The Zerner-Faber Tarot. Also known as the really small version of the Enchanted Tarot, a deck made of textile collage images. This one I actually found at my old job and it is one of my personal favorite small decks. It's packed with little details and the Two of Hearts (Cups) has a wee little Eros and Psyche on it. (The full size version of this is on my display shelf for Valentines this month.)
Bicycle Aviary Playing Cards, black backs. As noted last week: there's almost always a playing card deck on my desk. This one is actually the most common culprit, I like the coloring and the font of it. Plus: cute barn owls on the back.
Bottom Row, left to right:
Sefirot Tarot, standard and playing card editions. A new arrival-- the playing card size actually comes with the Sefirot board game, which I am very keen to try next time I have a free afternoon. I missed the kickstarter and was super worried I would have to wait for the Mass Market edition and miss out on the board game entirely. Luckily, extras exist!!! (If you are interested the link is HERE.) I am really liking this deck so far. The guidebook definitely follows the Marseilles/numerology tradition of tarot, which I am less familiar with as a die hard RWS reader... but it's so beautiful and I never mind hearing a fresh take on the cards.
Inversion Tarot. A US Games "In-A-Tin" deck, on my desk primarily because I was talking to a friend about pip decks and this sure is one of those. It's a cute little deck, blends the RWS and Marseilles imagery really well. The white-on-black art is really fun. That said... I rarely take this deck out. Maybe I will keep it out in hopes of playing with it more this week? We'll see.
Green Glyphs Lenormand (under the Inversion Tarot)-- another James Eads deck. This is one of my favorite lenormand decks in my collection. I am delighted that the full Green Glyphs divination set (tarot, oracle, runes, and lenormand) is coming out this year. As much as I like the detailed Visions decks, the simplicity of the Green Glyphs may just be my favorite art to come from James Eads.
Open Portals Oracle/Playing Cards, also by James Eads. The box has both the light and dark versions of the deck. One of the most balanced oracle decks I have ever worked with, and one of the most beautiful. I may just keep this one out for a bit.

50 witchy things to do in quarantine:
cleanse your house thoroughly
banish any unwanted energies
put some time into making solid wards
rearrange/cleanse your altar space and tools
take inventory of your supplies
make new batches of sun and moon waters (and any salts, tinctures, etc. you like to keep on hand)
start a dream journal now that you have the time
find a witchy article or book on somewhere like JSTOR and learn something new (and tell other witches about it)
try kitchen witchcraft if you haven’t already
create a new sigil or charm to display in your house
bless or add a glamor to an item in your home (ex. adding a glamour to a centerpiece so the food always looks good or to the welcome mat so people don’t notice the messes so much)
send a blessing to those who are helping (and donations, if you can)
or perhaps jinx, hex, curse, or bind those doing harm
set aside time each day to meditate– it’s the perfect time to start such a habit!
leave an offering to or commune with a spirit or deity you have not in a while due to time constraints
try a type of magic you are interested in, but struggle with
practice with your divination tools to get better at them
update your grimoire with things you’ve been meaning to write down
make a crystal grid of your own
make your own pendulum and board
make your own oracle deck
using the items you already have, make a new powder, oil, or tincture for an intent you have often
make a sigil and set it as your phone background
paint your phone case with a sigil, a symbol, or a color coordinated with your intention (use acrylic and then coat it in mod podge!)
create a new talisman
write a hymn or incantation
create a playlist to listen to during witchy things
buy a service from a local witch if you can afford to– many are in need of money right now, especially
draw, paint, or sculpt a deity you worship and add it to your altar
use notecards to write down and categorize things you have for each basic intention (ex. write down all of the herbs, crystals, etc. you have for love, for money, etc. so you never have to sit and think hard on what you can use– it’s a quick-reference for yourself)
write down your favorite spells or ones that you want to try
in your school or work space, add a sigil or charm for productivity, focus, or stress-relief
make a new sachet for sleep
contact a witch friend and facetime them to meditate together or do readings for each other. it’s important to stay in touch!
make shoebox, on-the-go, or pocket altars so when quarantine is over you’ll keep your practice up in daily life
write yourself affirmation cards or letters to open in a month/year/whenever you like
make your own runes
enchant a piece of clothing or jewelry for stress-relief or motivation
learn more about your own natal chart
transfer the info you look for in your grimoire most often to make a quick-reference book of the most important pages for yourself
learn about the plants and trees around your house and their properties
sit in your yard for a little while and enjoy nature and it’s sounds
open your curtains and blinds and windows to let in a little fresh air and sun into the house
start journaling– being in-tune with yourself will improve you as a witch
write letters or send care packages to witchy friends with things like bay leaves, sigils, and kind notes
on your next grocery run, grab some seeds or plants and plant whatever is in season where you are. try something that can grow in your windowsill, if you’re new! this is a way to have sustainable ingredients for your witchcraft that has no pesticides and is cultivated with your energy.
alternatively, get flower seeds and plant them around your home. this will also give you a reason to step outside to tend to them from time to time.
learn a new song or hymn and perform it as an offering to your deity of choice
make a list of this year’s dates of full and new moons, transits, and holidays and mark them in your calendar or put them in the notes of your phone
take the time to monitor your own energy and take care of yourself <3

Rune Art: ForestDesignArt
The Enchanted Woodland Runic Oracle was a rune deck by ForestDesignArt printed in Poland 2022.
✨The Enchanted Woodland Runic Oracle is a deck of 🌛24 cards🌜 based on the meanings of the Elder Futhark (Nordic Runes), and inspired by the ethereal stories of Nature and Folklore. Illustrations on the cards were created by ForestDesignArt.
You'll find some of your favorite creatures/familiars here. Each one embodying the meanings, qualities and energies of the various runes they have been chosen to symbolize.
🌛Why Runes?🌜
I have a special connection with this ancient Norse 'alphabet' since I was a child. I created my first natural set of runes when I was 12 yo. As a divination system, Runes can tell us about kind of things most important to us like home, family, emotions, prosperity, health. They can also imbue objects and ceremonies with the energies they embody. Placing a rune symbol and dreamy illustration on each card lends its special energy to the card. You can use these cards are as a part of a daily divination practice, as a tool for ceremony, to help call the energy during ritual. You can ask the cards for guidance, luck, protection or love.

Hi Ada! As I’m moving into freelancing, I have a lot of different avenues I could pursue as for how to grow, but I’m at a bit of a crossroads as to which way to go. I know that’s a bit vague but I find I tend to figure out what I’m supposed to learn intuitively. Thank you so much!! ❤️✨
Hey Max! The thing that stuck out to me the most about your question is what you said about learning and growth.
This card comes from the Druid Animal Oracle deck.
Hare - When Hare comes up in a reading, the first thing I always think of is the story of Ceridwen and Taliesin. After he ate the three drops of awen (inspiration) Gwion knew that Ceridwen would kill him, and so he transformed himself into a hare to run away from her.
Hare is a shapeshifter. Shapeshifting can be very valuable for a freelancer. The more versatile your work is--and the more ways you can present yourself--the more opportunities there are available to you. As an animal of spring, Hare wants to teach you to never be afraid of new beginnings, to not get too attached to one way of seeing yourself or one way of being in the world.
This rune stone comes from a collection of stones I gathered on the banks of the Sandy River in Oregon. The Sandy is one of the few rivers in the United States that has had a dam removed after it was put in. I find this set of runes useful for questions about overcoming obstacles.
I asked the runes: What virtue does Max need to overcome obstacles?
Raidho - Long ago in the mists of time, I lived in Silicon Valley and spent some time around hacker culture. One of the character types I ran into there was the Cowboy Coder. The Cowboy’s approach to programming is wild and reckless. Instead of plotting a path and anticipating problems in advance, the Cowboy just dives in and deals with problems as they come. Kind of like the Pantsers of the writing world who dive into stories without an outline or a plan.
These two types describe ways of being in the world, but they are also ways of approaching obstacles when they come up. When you run into trouble, you can stop and plan. Or you can use the momentum you already have to flow around, to do the thing that is just good enough to get you out of trouble. You can just go.
In your freelance career, Raidho wants to teach you to flow around obstacles. When you run into trouble, you could try meditating on the rune, chanting it like a mantra, or wearing it like a sigil when you’re feeling stuck. (I like drawing runes on my skin with liquid eyeliner.)
This rune stone comes from a set of bloodstone runes. Blood stone is known for its healing power.
I asked: What does Max need to learn to heal through freelancing?
Laguz - There aren’t many water runes in the Elder Futhark, and most of them are frozen. Laguz is the only rune of flowing water, so it’s interesting that it would show up in a reading that involves the Sandy River runes. This tells me that your freelancing field of endeavor is emotional for you. It’s where your greatest challenges and opportunities will be.
Laguz is a rune of charm and enchantment. It is the magic of a bard who sweeps their audience into a tale. It is the singer who points their mic at the audience, knowing that the words of their song are so powerful the crowd will belt out the chorus. It is a rune that requires faith--faith in your ability to enchant the people who are watching you and faith in your audience’s ability to go along with the spell you want to cast. It’s the faith that knows that if you dive off the stage and into the audience, they’ll catch you and not step out of the way and let you fall on the floor.
The thing is, that faith isn’t always rewarded. Sometimes you do fall. Sometimes the song doesn’t resonate for people. Sometimes the audience just doesn’t show up, but you can’t armor yourself against the possibility that you might fall. You have to keep going on as if you have faith, not faith in yourself or in your audience, but in the power of the song you’re singing, the story you’re telling. When a rockstar points their mic at the audience, it looks on the surface like an act of the greatest arrogance, but I think it’s actually a sign of great humility. They’re saying, This isn’t about me. This is about the music, and you don’t need me to carry the music for you because you are carrying it already inside you.”
That’s what creators do. We carry inspiration around with us for a little while, and then we release it like a hare into the world where it shifts and changes and becomes what people out there need it to be.
Laguz wants to teach you to let go, to be like a riverbed, letting The Work flow through you without worrying about the path you’re on or trying to control it.
I am currently offering readings by donation. To get a reading, leave your question in my asks. Donations at ko-fi.com/ada_reads.
I also offer paid astrology and tarot readings.

El’s Salem, Ma Shopping Guide
Where to Shop
As a disclaimer, you can almost certainly find anything in a Salem shop online for cheaper. The appeal of shopping in Salem is assisting small business owners, many of which are women and also witches. I also find that shopping for supplies in physical stores strengthens my connection to them. Most of these places do have online shops too though, so I linked them.
Best for Herbs: Artemisia Botanicals This store is an herb lover’s dream. They have just about everything, in alphabetical order, sold by the ounce (weighed). By far the cheapest herb shop in Salem, and honestly, one of the cheapest I’ve ever found. The older woman running this shop is delightful. Plus, unlike the herbs sold by many places both in Salem and online, their herbs are (usually) food safe. Artemisia’s also sell a variety of tea blends and tea accessories. They also sell a huge selection of oils. Like most stores in Salem they sell candles, altar supplies, books, etc. But their herbs are really where it’s at. Avoid: Their tiny stone collection is over priced and not very good. Better to skip. *They also do tea leaf reading and Tarot reading. This is the only place I get my tarot read in Salem.
Runner Up: The Coven’s Cottage, The Cauldron Black
Best for Stones/Crystals: Pyramid Books This shop has an excellent variety of both tumbled stones, crystal points, and other specimens. And their prices are the most reasonable I’ve found in Salem, and even occasionally online. They also sell some carved stone pieces, gem boards, and a large selection of books on stones. Aside from crystals/stones they sell a huge assortment of altar goods and decorative objects, and of course, books. Avoid: They sell some Native American inspired stuff, and I haven’t been able to ascertain if it’s by/from Native peoples.
Best for Candles: Witch City Wicks Okay, these aren’t necessarily spell candles, but most stores sell the same assortment of those. However these are handcrafted candles that smell divine. For when you want a witchy atmosphere, more than to cast a spell. Although there is no reason their candles couldn’t be used in spells. The also have a small assortment of witch supplies. If you’re into prints the do have limited edition prints by local artists.
Runner Up: Artemisia Botanicals
Best for Crafts: Circle of Stitches This is a witchy bent knitting and needle crafts store, with a small collection of other items. It has such a positive energy. If you’re into needle crafts, want to pick up a newer tarot deck, or need a new enamel pin this is the place. I love the bright open store, and every sales associate has just been lovely. It’s the type of place you can take a crafty, but not witchy friend. This store also carries limited edition prints by local artists and jewelry. Avoid: They have some beautiful stones and crystals, but the price is a bit high. Runner Up: Honestly nothing. This place is truly unique in Salem.
Best for Books: Pyramid Books Yup, this place is on the list twice. Their collection of books is the largest and most up to date and diverse in Salem, that I’ve found at least.
Runner Up: Wicked Good Books, Witch City Wicks for a small collection of recent publications
Best Modern: HausWitch So the modern witch movement, is definitely different from the witch movement of the 90s, and this store reflects that. They have household goods, including cleaning products that are witch inspired/herbal infused. They have candles. They have stones, They have local art and zines, which are very nice. They have a great selection of tonics and skin care. Avoid: Everything here is pricey, particularly their stones and jewelry, and there is definitely a bougie feel to the place.
Runner Up: Circle of Stitches
Best Traditional: The Coven’s Cottage This store is an experience. The owners are a couple who follow either Norse Wicca or Asatru. The store is one of the most gorgeous stores I’ve ever been in. They are strict about no cellphones and no photography, you will be asked to leave if you have your phone out. They also sometimes close for lunch during busy days, mostly I think to straighten the store and get a break. Sometimes people leave bad reviews for these reason, which is nuts. They have a large selection of herbs, including beautiful dried herb bundles. They have a lot of locally made statues for altars. They have a little bit of everything to be honest. They have a lot of resources that focus on coven and group work. I don’t always buy things at this store, but I love to visit it.
Runner Up: The Cauldron Black
Honorable Mentions: The Cauldron Black This is a newer shop that’s very similar to some of the more standard Salem Witch Shops, but in being newer I feel their selection is a bit better (they have very modern jewelry and clothes), they have very nice Rune Sets, and they have a much larger herb collection than most shops. They also have a variety of classes and events, although I’ve not attended any. They have a great selection of altar tools.
Best Avoided: Hex, Omen, Enchanted, Crow Haven Corner. These places are the main 4 ‘witch’ shops in town and they all sell basically the exact same things. In fact three of them (hex, omen, and crow haven) are owned by the same people. They’re always packed with tourist, their prices are high, their goods are sometimes of not the greatest quality, and they really overcharge for psychic readings compared to other places in town. That being said, Omen does have a fantastic assortment of Tarot and Oracle cards, and a great selection of books. And Crow Haven is the oldest witch shop in town and very fun to look around in. Enchanted sells a lot of really nice spell kits.
