Today on this wonderful Wednesday, I’d like to share the act of veiling.⭐️

Veiling is the act of covering ones head or face to honor a person, space or object or to protect/shield from malevolent forces.

It has been an aspect of European, African and Asian societies where mostly women would veil, but in some cultures, men will veil as well.

Besides the religious contexts, veiling plays some modern roles such as in weddings. The veil is one of the oldest parts of the bridal ensemble, dating as far back as Greek and Roman times, to hide a bride "from evil spirits who might want to thwart her happiness" or to frighten the spirits away.

Getting started with Veiling:

Try to pick a light fabric like cotton or silk for your veil and if that’s not available a regular headscarf or shawl will do. Pick a veil with a correlating color to the reasons why you’re veiling

Cleanse your veil and pray and dedicate it to protect you. You can leave it on your altar, wrap it with flowers, crystals, sigils or even leave it by a window to charge by the sun/moon.

That’s it, your veil is ready to wear.

Wellness Wednesday/Witchy Wednesday

Ironic that I should come home after work on the day I was going to make a Wellness Wednesday post feeling as sick as anything. So, instead, I'm making this a Witchy Wednesday.

Traditionally, the Celts celebrated their sacred days from sunset to sunset - in which case, Samhain began this evening.

I wish everyone a blessed Samhain - may all your feels and negativities be lost to the night.
