Sometimes I still wonder if it was a dream in which I watched an incredible story about a cult survivor. In a kids' cartoon. A story which had him undergo a type of character design change so drastic (and not often seen) at the end of his arc - the sigil replaced with the tattoo, no more dark circles - to powerfully reflect that he escaped and got out. He made it out of a horrible dark place that he may not have survived, the price was awfully high, but ultimately worth it.

I restored the Lilith poster from the show in HD for a commission and figured I should also share the transparent template in case anyone else wants to use it for their own art :) since it's pretty much traced over canon material for consistency's sake no need to credit me

Why are the Emperor's Coven portrayed as such a bunch of useless mooks? Like, the Scouts are all presented as being very shit at their jobs. In the S1 finale, the members couldn't best a single Human. Aren't these guys supposed to be the best of the best? Why does TOH constantly make their villains complete morons? They want to have it both ways in that the EC is this constant looming threat, but also they're idiots who trip over their own feet.

But, I feel this could have worked! At the beginning of the show, the Coven Scouts are kinda how they are in the show. Bumbling buffoons who shake their fists at the sky and go 'curses! We'll get you next time, Owl Lady!' Here, their extreme training is largely just a scare tactic to frighten people into not wanting to mess with them. The regular on-the-ground Scouts are just heavily indoctrinated members with basic training, just used for 'peacekeeping'.

But then, as the series goes on, where you'd think the stakes are supposed to get higher, these regular scouts are replaced by real EC members. These guys are the real deal and have had the extreme training that makes them the best of the best. Even have it that the characters assume these guys are gonna be pushovers then get their arses kicked.
