Rickmas day 20: wrongful perceptions
18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI

warnings: swearing, weapons
“all clear.” I called as I met up with the rest of Elliot’s men. They nodded to me as I turned to ride back to the ranch. I dismounted when I reached the ranch house. “We ran all the dingos out.” I said. “I think Charlie bagged one. So fresh meat for the week.” I shrugged as Elliot cleaned his gun.
“if that’s what the men want.” He shrugged. “Honestly I wish there was a way to just kill them before they got on the property. Maybe then they’d stay away.”
“A sniper might work.” I said as I sat down. “They love to come in at night. A sniper on the roof…pot shots at them as they come in…might scare them off for good.” Elliot looked at me and chewed on his lip.
“tell Charlie to get up there tonight.” He said. I nodded and got up to go let the ranch hand know. “He’s the best shooter we have.” I sighed as I walked out of the house and made my way to the bunks.
“Charlie! Sniper idea is a go.” I called. Charlie nodded.
“you going up tonight?” I nodded. “I’ll grab em as they drop. If the others don’t try to turn cannibal.”
“wouldn’t want to lose a hand Charlie.” I agreed as I patted his arm. “Don’t let marston know. He thinks you’re going up.”
“still thinks im the better shot?” Charlie asked. I nodded. “One day he’ll realize.” I gave him a tight smile. The two of us started preping for the night ahead of us. Charlie helped me climb up to the roof once night fell before he ducked into the shadows. I set up my rifle before scanning the horizon for movement. Below me I heard the door open and someone step out. Three dingos moved into the compound and I lined up the shot. The rifle recoiled against me as I dropped the dingos in a line.
“what the fuck?” I heard Elliot say as Charlie ran out to collect the bodies. “Charlie! Get your ass over here now!” I started the climb off the roof and jumped down. My eyes went wide when I saw Elliot’s boots in front of me. I slowly looked up at him and gulped at the look on his face. Raising up, I took a deep breath and straightened my back. “What’s the meaning of this?”
“(Y/N)’s the better shot.” Charlie said. I tightened my grip on my rifle as my eyes flickered over to Charlie before focusing back on Elliot. “Always has been. Just didn’t think…”
“exactly.” Elliot said as he waved Charlie off. “You didn’t think.” He waited until Charlie had scampered off before he turned to me again. “So all those shots Charlie took…” he looked at the rifle in my hand. “That was you?” I nodded.
“yes sir.” I said, shifting my weight slightly.
“then you’ll train the others.” Elliot said with a smirk. “Wouldn’t want you to be the only one up there all night every night.” I finally relaxed, giving him a small smile. “Now come on. Let those three be a warning. You need some sleep. And I can’t sleep without you by my side anyway.” He wrapped an arm around me before leading me back into the house.

Rickmas day 10: snow prints
18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI
tags: @illiana-mystery, @deepperplexity, @iobsessoverfictionalmen, @cassieuncaged
warnings: swearing
I kept my eyes trained to the ground to see the tracks in the snow. With the trail hidden, the journey back to the cabin was taking longer than usual. Elliot had offered to go out and shovel the trail but I had turned him down. Instead, he rode out with his horse and made sure to make prints in the snow for me to follow home.
“Elliot?” I called when I finally reached the cabin. He emerged from the bedroom and smiled when he saw me.
“I take it the tracks helped?” He asked. I nodded. “Good.” Shaking off my coat, I hung it up and moved to sit in front of the roaring fire. Elliot joined me after a second. He threw his arm over my shoulder and pulled me into his warmth. I curled up against him and nodded.
“they did.” I said, burying my nose into his shoulder. “I wouldn’t have found this place at all if it weren’t for them.” Elliot nodded and pressed a kiss to my head.
“I’ll make sure to go leave them when it snows again.” He muttered. I nodded against him. “Striker will be happy for the exercise.” We sat in front of the warm fire in silence for a while.
“Still think you were born on the wrong continent?” I asked. Elliot laughed and shook his head.
“no.” He admitted. “I could do without the snow. But I never did like the Australian heat either. Never a happy medium.” I laughed as he drew me closer, smiling at me.

Rickmas day 4!
prompt: Biting Cold
warnings: cold, swearing
AN: I’m so glad I got this out. Sorry if it doesn’t make much sense since I’m the one with cold now. I’ll do a better one later. Until now enjoy my attempt at giving Elliot marston some love.
“What is with this damn cold?” Elliot growled. I rolled my eyes and tucked myself further into his side. His arm tightened around me.
“you always said you were born on the wrong continent.” I teased. He looked over at me, his cheeks tinted pink from the wind and cold. His glare would have been scary if it weren’t for that. I giggled as he rolled his eyes and continued our trek to the lake.
“I never meant here.” He grumbled as I shivered. His eyes shifted to me again before he stopped. He unbuttoned his coat and I was once again tucked into his side, this time with his coat covering us both. “Better?” He asked. I nodded as I curled into his side.
“Well then you shouldn’t have been playing cowboy in the Outback.” I teased. Elliot again rolled his eyes. “Seriously though it I’m being honest, that little shootout with quigley scared me to death. I didn’t know anywhere else to bring you. The doctors out here…” Elliot stopped me by kissing my cheek.
“It’s alright.” He whispered. His nose ghosted over my cheek and he reared back. “You’re freezing.” I nodded and laughed, knowing my cheeks were likely as red as his and I was shivering despite the warmth of him.
“Yeah. That’s what happens when you spend winter in Tahoe.” I joked. Elliot shook his head and took off his coat. “Elliot! You’ll freeze!” I chastised. Rolling his eyes, he draped the coat over me and popped the collar so it covered my face.
“When we get to the cabin I’ll sit by the fire for a while.” He waved me off before pulling me close again. “Until then, you can keep me warm.” I shook my head and tried to take the coat off with his arm around me. His grip tightened and I shook my head.
“Alright but don’t blame me when you get sick.” Elliot scoffed and leaned over to kiss me.
“Then I’ll have you to take care of me.” He whispered just as the cabin came into view.

Rickmas day 22!
prompt: Slipping & Sliding
Warnings: none
AN: sorry it’s another short one but it is a bit more romantic, I think
Elliot knelt in front of me, helping tie my skates. I held the strings taunt as he looped them around the eyelets. Once he finished, he stood up and offered me his hand.
“Ready (Y/N)?” I took the outstretched hand and shakily stood up.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I said, holding tight to his hand as he slowly led me to the rink. “On second thought, I’m not too sure about this.” Looking at the smooth ice, I was second guessing everything.
“You’ll do fine. You’re with me.” Elliot gave me a small smile as he slowly backed onto the ice, forcing me to follow. For a while, he tugged me along as he skated backwards. After I had my footing, he skated out to the side of me. I squeezed his hand as I started to feel the skates slip out from under me. Elliot held my arm and stopped us until I was stable again. “Will you be alright on your own for a while?” I nodded as I slowly skated along without holding onto Elliot.
“I’ll be ok.” I reassured him when he gave me a disbelieving look. He nodded skeptically and skated off. I continued my slow skating. As the ice became more popular, it became harder and harder to keep my balance as people zoomed past me. “Ah!” I cried out as my skates came out from under me and I fell on my back. The sound of someone stopping beside me made me open my eyes and meet the eyes of Elliot. “Hi.” I muttered out. Elliot shook his head and reached down to help me up.
“Hi.” He led me off the ice and sat me down. “I thought you said you would be alright?” I shrugged as he looked over his shoulder at the crowded ice.
“I was. But then all those people showed up.” I grumbled as Elliot started to help me take off my skates.
“Well I think that’s enough skating for today don’t you agree?” I nodded and sat on the bench while he took off his skates. He offered me his hand again and we headed back home.
