“Authentic Mexican”

Vanessa and Emilio have slept together so many times that they’ve run out of condoms. So, they make a plan to get tested to be more adventurous.

Emilio’s band is going on a mini gig tour but Emilio can’t go because of his DACA status. But, he and the restaurant do get a catering opportunity.

Beto meets a girl at the house Emilio, Vanessa, and himself are looking at for the Authentic Mexican party and decided then and there that it is a good idea to cater.

Valentina asks Lucia to help her make a dish that their mom made since Lucia won’t let her call her. Lucia recounts memories of mama teaching her any dish. Valentina wonders who will teach her the dishes now but Lucia knows it’ll be her.

Emilio’s ex (Lauren) shows up to help since Beto dug up her number and we find that she’s older than him.

Lucia gets agitated when Val tells her the food tastes better than mamas. She looks in the window and sees herself with the apron and holding Rafa and says that she’s not a cook. Not even a second later, she gets called to fill in for Lupita who is in labor.

Vanessa meets Lauren and it’s a little awk because she mistook her for a Vanessa that Emilio dated in high school.

Lucia runs into a lil trouble with a man when the van hits his bumper but she works it all out but Emilio gets miffed about it. She’s proving that she has a lot of skills besides cooking.

Val called her mom to show her the meal but this white girl answers it and tells Val that she helps her with her math homework. Val is confused and hurt.

Beto and Ella make out behind a decoration wall but it falls down exposing them to everyone. Her dad gets irritated and accuses her of “making out with the help”. Beto tried to apologize but Ella’s dad kept cutting him off. Emilio apologizes and tells him that Beto recognizes he’s out of line and won’t do it again. That’s not enough for the man, as he wants Emilio to fire Beto. Emilio refuses saying “that’s my brother. And as long as I’m around, no one is going to talk to him like that” and I may or may not have tested up.

So... I think Em and Vanessa broke up?? But it’s all good because Ella picked up Beto and that’s how the episode ended. Until next week!
