So, I've had people asking, why does it matter if rockets are fired towards Tel Aviv and other settlements when they cause a fraction of the damage done by an Israeli missile?
Psychological warfare - the rocket barrages eliminate any sense of security that Israelis might have during the war. It reminds them that there's a price for the occupation of Palestine. I can't tell you how many videos I've seen of people in luxury resorts and other high class lodgings shouting and fleeing in fear at a rocket from Gaza or Yemen. It makes it hard for them to go about their daily life ignoring what is happening. Furthermore it undermines the strength of the IDF. Netanyahu can go on TV and claim to have complete control over Gaza but a rocket barrage undoes that easily. A rocket barrage tells Israelis and the rest of the world that not only is Hamas (and the other groups) still intact, it has enough of a stockpile to still bomb parts of Israel over 50 days into the conflict. Israeli media is constantly shocked every time this happens because there's always the assumption that Palestinians are unprepared in every way for the conflict we're seeing today. It forces them to take the threat posed by the Resistance very seriously which of course leads to the existential meltdowns you see on Israeli social media accounts.
De-settlement - There are hundreds of thousands of internally displaced settlers right now. Most of them are unwilling to return because the settlements are still getting hit and it's obvious the IDF is struggling to get things under control. The annexation of Palestinian land and the formation of settlements has led to a great deal of violence towards Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank. Hence, why forcing settlers to evacuate is seen as a great success by the Resistance and their supporters. Hezbollah, for example, has mentioned that several times while doing debriefs of their efforts in the conflict
Hits to the economy - if the settlers are evacuated, who will run local businesses? Not to mention underpaid and overworked foreign migrant workers have fled the country while exploited Gazan workers are trapped in Gaza. Israel is trying to combat this by making deals with countries like India and Mali to get tens of thousands of workers but it's not going to be enough especially the longer this conflict goes on. There's also the fact that tourism won't recover to pre war levels due to security concerns. The same thing with foreign capital leaving the country. Israel is too unstable and evidently incapable of regaining that stability (by quickly defeating the Palestinian resistance) which makes it risky to invest in Israeli businesses.
Logistical nightmare - Gazan rockets are cheap to produce, Israeli interceptor missiles are not. Israel is spending more to stop the barrages of rockets than the Resistance has spent probably in the past 5 years. It's the same issue on the Northern border to Lebanon and whenever Yemen sends its long range missiles. It's not like both Israel, America and Europe have endless supplies of weapons and ammunition, they sent most of their stockpiles to Ukraine. The longer this goes on, the more dire things will get but we're already seeing the strain

Hello, everyone.
This may be the finest and most important article I've written since the creation of this blog, so kindly read it carefully and pay attention.
And share it so that everyone can see it.
There are many events happening tonight, and I will try to summarize them for you so that you have a complete understanding of what is happening.
Twelve days ago, a gruesome incident occurred, most of you have probably heard of it: the occupation forces shelled the Al-Ma'madani Hospital in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over a thousand people, including patients, their families, doctors, and young children.
Has the occupation been content with this? The answer is no.
Since that day, they have been threatening another hospital, Al-Quds Hospital, with the promise of bombing it, leaving civilians and patients inside in a state of terror, awaiting death at any moment.
The first time this happened, it spread across social media platforms, especially Twitter, and many people protested, causing the occupation to halt its actions.
Today, twelve days after the Al-Ma'madani Hospital massacre, they have once again sent severe threats to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) for the immediate evacuation of Al-Quds Hospital, as it is destined to be bombed.
Tumblr media
"🔴 Urgent: We have just received severe threats demanding the immediate evacuation of Al-Quds Hospital as it is set to be bombed.
Since the early hours of the morning, the vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital has been witnessing continuous airstrikes, resulting in the destruction of some buildings within a 50-meter radius.
📢 Please share, save Al-Quds Hospital! 📢
#GazaUnderAttack #GazaUnderSiege #Save_Al-Quds_Hospital
"
The second matter, three days ago, specifically on Friday, the twenty-seventh of this month, the occupation completely isolated Gaza from the world by cutting off the internet, telecommunications, and electricity. They were prepared for a brutal massacre that occurred that night and lasted for two days.
I'm talking about indiscriminate bombardment using all kinds of weapons on all areas of Gaza, whether they were churches, mosques, schools, or homes, regardless of their occupants, be they children, young people, women, or the elderly.
During that period, social media platforms and indeed the entire world were abuzz with the issue.
People from various backgrounds, nationalities, and religions unanimously agreed that it was inhumane to isolate them from the world and deny them the right to have a voice.
They were searching for solutions they could implement.
Some took to the streets, demanding the return of the internet, while others began sharing their plight on social media, primarily on Twitter.
They reached out to activists and officials who had the means to help.
Tumblr media
One of the most prominent solutions that everyone turned to was contacting Elon Musk, the former owner of Twitter (X) and the current owner of SpaceX, to enable the people of Gaza to use the internet via Starlink's private satellites.
They hoped that he would hear their plea, as it was their only hope.
He tweeted:
"Starlink will support connectivity to internationally recognized aid organizations in Gaza.
[ComStar]
"
Tumblr media
On the same day, five hours after the publication of this tweet, the Israeli Minister of Communications commented on it, saying, in essence, that they would use all available means to prevent the supply of Starlink internet to Gaza because Hamas would utilize it. He also threatened that if this were to occur, he would sever all his office's ties with Starlink.
Now, let's discuss the issue of hostages for a moment because it is of utmost importance to understanding the situation.
On the twenty-fourth of this month, Yasmin Porat, one of the hostages, came forward to talk about her experiences during her captivity.
I will now share some of what she mentioned in the interview:
She stated that Israeli forces eliminated everyone, including hostages, amid heavy crossfire and tank shelling.
She highlighted the contrasting behavior of Palestinian fighters who offered hope for safe passage to Gaza. Israeli forces disrupted this hope with a storm of gunfire.
Palestinian fighters treated the hostages humanely, offering them hope of a safe passage to Gaza, despite the chaos.
This compassionate act stands in stark contrast to the chaos that unfolded.
After the interview was broadcast, it was completely deleted and blocked from all social media platforms and even from Kan's website. Moreover, Yasmin's account mysteriously disappeared from the "Haboker Hazeh" program, raising concerns of censorship.
Below, you will find the interview recording.
During that period, the Al-Qassam Brigades continued their communication with the Israeli government in order to release some prisoners for humanitarian reasons, including their age and health, among them two elderly women, one of whom is named Yohav Levisheitz.
But the Israeli government showed no interest in the matter whatsoever.
As a result, they decided to release the two elderly women.
Before leaving, one of them, Yohav Levisheitz, insisted on shaking hands with one of the resistance fighters who she was their captor, as you can see in the following video.
-Tumblr doesn't allow me to post two videos in a single post, so I will provide the video link on the blog-:

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this, she insisted on participating in a press conference to share her experience, saying:
"When we arrived in Gaza, they initially told us that they believed in the Quran and that they wouldn't harm us.
They said they would treat us as they do with those around them.
We were under tight security, and medical professionals arrived to ensure we had the medications we always took.
They showed great concern for our health.
Our place of rest was the mattresses.
We had an accompanying doctor who would visit us every two or three days to check on our well-being.
In addition to a paramedic who looked after us and provided us with our medications.
They took on the responsibility and made sure to provide the necessary medications.
They looked after our hygiene meticulously to safeguard our health so that we wouldn't fall ill.
It was they who took care of cleaning the restrooms, not us.
They provided us with everything we needed, and I acknowledge their help in that.
If equivalent medications weren't available, they offered suitable alternatives.
They were remarkably courteous (kind) and ensured we ate well, sharing the same food they ate (bread, cheese, and cucumbers)
We were treated with kindness, and they paid meticulous attention to every detail.
Women among them understood the importance of feminine hygiene and ensured we had everything we needed.
Hamas had meticulously planned everything for a long time, providing us with everything we required, even down to shampoo and conditioner.
The inefficiencies of the army and Shabak (Israel Security Agency - ISA) greatly impacted us; we were pawns in the government's game."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this, Western media outlets, with CNN at the forefront, distorted Yohav's words and published that she said, "I went through hell."
BBC, on the other hand, released two versions of the statement.
They published the original statement by Yohav on their account dedicated to the Arab audience, while on their accounts for Western and Indian audiences, they published a manipulated version of her statement that included the same content as previously published by CNN.
Tumblr media
These are the testimonies of two different women captives, both of whom unanimously agree that they were treated with excellent humane treatment, and no one tortured them or attempted to harass or disturb them.
On the other hand, both of them agree that Israel did not care about their safety in any way and, in fact, they would open fire in the presence of the hostages, leaving behind lifeless bodies hit by their deadly bullets.
Now, let's focus for a moment on the point of Israel and the prisoners.
Two days ago, Abu Ubaida, the official spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, made a lengthy recorded speech in which he spoke about the prisoners.
He said:
"There have been numerous contacts in the prisoner file, and there was an opportunity to reach an agreement, but they delayed and did not show real seriousness in releasing the prisoners.
Instead, its barbaric shelling and continuous crimes have led to the killing of nearly fifty of them so far."
Do you understand now that Israel does not care about the prisoners at all, as it claims, and that their use of the prisoner issue is merely to prevent Elon Musk from providing internet access via Starlink in Gaza for its residents?

[***NOTE: Leo's design here is no longer accurate, link to the updated version.]
I know there are already a lot of "the brothers are separated at a young age and raised by different people" AUs floating around, so this isn't especially original, but- I've yet to see one with this particular parent-child arrangement, so...
Here’s some rough concept art for what I’m calling the “Grown Apart AU”  Which I've also been affectionately referring to as the "Everyone's a Disney Protagonist" AU for quite some time... you'll see why.
Here’s the gist: Basically, Splinter is only able to save Mikey and Leo from the lab explosion - Raph is immediately picked up by Huginn and Muninn and handed back over to Draxum; Donnie is lost mid-escape and later found by Big Mama's goons, who show up for Lou but bring Don back with them instead when Lou is nowhere to be found.
Details of each turtles’ upbringings (as well as how/when they meet April) below the cut:
RAPH
Draxum raised Raph to be everything he originally intended the turtles to be: a ruthless, obedient super soldier whose sole purpose in life is to protect the Yokai by eliminating the human threat. Draxum taught him to hate humankind and trained him up to be virtually undefeatable in battle. However...because Draxum isn't the most attentive parent, most of the caretaking for Raph was actually provided by Huginn and Muninn. And the two little well-meaning gargoyles - mostly unintentionally and outside of their master's knowledge - wound up nurturing a much softer and friendlier side to their supposedly bloodthirsty warrior-in-the-making. As a result, Raph has essentially been living a double-life under Draxum’s ownership; playing the part of a perfect soldier for his father/general, who he's determined not to disappoint, and only feeling free to be himself when he's alone (or with H&M.)
Raph has always known that there were supposed to be other mutants like himself but grew up believing that he's the only one who survived the experiment, making him the only one left in existence (until Draxum’s oozesquitos create more, that is). Even though he had H&M to keep him company, being an only child could still be pretty lonely sometimes, so Raph would often imagine what having brothers - other mutants like himself that he could have grown up alongside - would have been like.
Raph is the only one of the turtles that knows his human DNA comes from Lou Jitsu - just like Draxum, though, he has no idea that Splinter is actually Lou Jitsu.
DONNIE
Donnie had a posh and cushy upbringing in Big Mama's hotel - she raised him as her own son(unaware that he’s actually Lou’s)/apprentice and uses his technological talents to aid her multiple businesses: he supplies new weapons and battlegrounds for the Battle Nexus, as well as automated assistants and security for her hotel, and even pitches in with her more off-the-record dealings that last one being without Donnie’s knowledge. Big Mama's kept him pretty much wrapped around her little finger; praising him for his intelligence and usefulness whenever he does a good job or makes her nice things. When he hasn’t, however, she’s a less-than-affectionate mother. Donnie will do absolutely anything it takes to impress and earn approval from her.
Donnie is largely sheltered and knows very little about the world outside of the hotel - especially the human world, about which most of his knowledge comes from what he finds on the internet. He doesn't even know that he's a mutant, believing himself to be just some uncommon type of yokai, since that's all he knows. He’s not allowed to fraternize freely with the hotel guests and has a somewhat contentious relationship with Big Mama’s assistant, whom he’s always viewed as competition for her affection. The closest thing he's had to a friend is S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N, whom Donnie built to have someone to talk to (besides Big Mama's boring, no-nonsense henchmen).
Don finally met April when he was about 11 yrs old; he secretly sent one of his spy bots out to explore the human city and she intercepted it. The two have been best friends and stayed in-touch with each other online ever since - April being unaware that Donnie isn't human.
Donnie knows of Lou Jitsu purely because he was Big Mama’s favorite champion in the history of the Battle Nexus - he idolizes him, having watched recordings of many of his fights, and dreams of one day fighting in the Battle Nexus himself (if Big Mama would allow that).
Leo & Mikey
Leo and Mikey were still rescued by Lou/Splinter and brought up in the NY sewers. Splinter felt extremely guilty for not managing to save the other two baby turtles and, for the first few years following the incident, spent much of his time searching for them. Once Leo was old enough, Splinter would start leaving him and Mikey in the Lair while he searched. He eventually gave up his search, presuming them both dead or lost for good, and resigned to keeping the remaining two as safe as possible - teaching them how to defend themselves and warning them never to leave the sewers unless he was with them.
Leo and Mikey were inseparable as kids - they would do everything together, refusing to even sleep in separate rooms until they were too big to fit in one bed anymore. Leo took his job as Mikey's big brother very seriously and always tried his best to protect him, even when they were simply playing games with each other. As they got older, though, the two brothers began to drift apart - Leo started to feel a little smothered; craving more freedom to do what he wanted when he wanted, without the older sibling responsibilities hanging over him 24/7. And Mikey started feeling like he couldn't go/do anything without his brother's judgement or approval, resenting the idea that he needed constant protection.
Finally, when he was about 13, Leo secretly snuck out of the lair one night to check out the city by himself and get a little taste of independence. After that one trip, it quickly became a habit and he soon began making regular “secret” trips into the city.
Somewhere along the way, his innocent quests for freedom and fun grew into opportunities to stir up some trouble - Leo eventually met and became involved with a group of yokai teens with whom he would pull pranks and play jokes on the city's human occupants (harmless ones...usually. They just enjoy causing a little mischief.)
Mikey, having to figure out other ways to keep himself occupied since his brother is usually by himself or busy with his new friends, has picked up a multitude of different skills and hobbies, trying absolutely everything he can get his hands on. His main hobby is spray-painting, which he uses to spruce any wall he can find with his own personal touch. By the time he's 13, much of underground New York has been covered by his handiwork.  Mikey eventually finds out about Leo’s secret outings and follows him when he leaves one night - the two end up meeting April, who's never seen mutants before (having only talked to Donnie online and not seen his face) and promptly freaks out before realizing they're not dangerous. The three soon become friends, too, and April starts making plans to introduce the boys to Donnie - knowing he could use more friends besides S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. and herself.
The four brothers' fates finally collide with one another when an escapee from Draxum's lab - Mayhem - shows up out of the blue and catapults Mikey and Leo to the Hidden City, where they have an unexpected reunion with their eldest brother.

Lightcannon Week // Day 03 - Dystopian
Bringing back Halo! I had so much fun drawing an old design I made for them. Spartan Lux and Soldier Jinx, although she eventually joins the ODST unit.
But ever since the Spartans were released to the front, Jinx can't help but notice as Lux seems to be assigned to her platoon everytime they deploy. Eventually Jinx realizes a terrible truth about how Spartans were made, especially about the rumor of clones being involved. Jinx would not only find herself fighting war but thrown into an investigation about missing children.
On the other hand, Lux has been at death's doorstep several times over but Jinx refuses to let her die, even after she told Jinx that her purpose is to fight for humanity, she's just a weapon afterall, nothing else.
_____________________
Some notes : (disclaim//this isn't at all from expertise, I'm still in training)
CO - Company Commander <- this is usually a captain's position, (or Lieutenant [Officer]) that controls two platoons, in turn, platoons have four squads, squads with fire teams, breaking it down more, each squad is two Attack by fire or assaulting elements (ABF), one support by fire (SBF) and a weapons squad (WPN) (this is the most mass casualty producing team, they are very essential to the operations.)
AO - Area of Operations <- this is not completely accurate for this scenario, however may be still categorized as Area of Op since this mission is classified as a Raid turned Defense in order to eliminate the enemy forces and cut off some of their supply chain within the objective.
Radio Dia - "Monkey Tree niner-- (3-9) Platoon Lead will first address the Squad Lead by their assigned nics and then repeat their own after brief of OPORD. Usually, we give radios only to the main chain of command within our platoon, which is our leadership. Does not contain team leads either. However, I can't remember if all the soldiers in Halo were hooked up on the same frequency of comms. Oh, well. But the pain I felt while rewatching Halo legends...NEVER say "over and out." Blegh! It's just "Out!"
++ OPORD - Operations Order <- basically the plan about the shit that's about to go down. It's pages upon pages of planning people, not fun, but very important. We have two more Orders as well, yay, more paperwork...

Tumblr media
Sukuna:
You wobble on your feet as the truck picks up speed, stumbling right into the huge, firm body of Sukuna. You catch yourself from falling by grabbing hold of his muscular arm, wondering how he’s remaining so steady despite the sway and movement of the trailer you’re both standing in.
He makes no move to help you, but he also doesn’t seem to mind you holding onto him. Once it feels like the truck is on the road and has reached a stable speed, you separate from him and make you way to the closest wall. Surprisingly, he moves to the wall himself, just a few feet away from you.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, you decide to try talking to the most intimidating man in the truck.
“So what are your plans after this?” you ask him. “Gonna help them set up a base?”
He looks over at you, his eyes moving up and down your figure as if judging whether or not you’re worth speaking to. Apparently, you pass whatever standard he has.
“I’m not planning on staying with the group, but I’ll see how things play out. I’ll go wherever seems most fun.”
Most fun? This is a zombie fucking apocalypse! You suspected it before, but this guy really is something else. He’s treating this whole thing like it’s amusing to him.
“What kind of fun are you looking for?” you ask, genuinely curious, hoping your tone doesn’t come out too sharp.
He grins. “A challenge. Something worth my time and energy. Maybe I’ll find a big group and take it over. Maybe I’ll just fucking kill every zombie on earth. Or maybe,” he says, eyes darkening as they slide down your form again, “I’ll find a woman worth fucking.”
You suddenly feel undressed, naked before his hungry gaze even though you’re fully clothed. It’s a strange feeling, even stranger for the fact that you don’t find it wholly unpleasant.
The truck slams on the breaks out of nowhere, causing you to lurch forward. Sukuna catches you this time, holding you upright in his strong arms. You look up at him. He could do it, you think. He could kill every zombie. He could take over any group, no matter how big or well organized. He could have you under him whenever he wants. The realization makes you feel heated.
But more importantly, why did the truck stop? There’s no way to communicate with the cab, so you have no idea what’s going on up front. The others are all looking at each other curiously. Eventually the decision is made to wait a few minutes to see if Gojo or Geto comes back to the trailer to tell you all what the holdup is. But soon enough, you begin hearing the sounds of groaning and hands slapping against the sides and door of the trailer.
It sounds like a large herd has surrounded the truck! Everyone readies their weapons, tense looks on their faces. Except for Sukuna, who simply looks excited.
A quick discussion takes place. Should you open the door and try to escape? There’s enough food and water in the trailer to last several days, and maybe the zombies will give up and leave if they don’t see or hear any people for a while. But what about Geto and Gojo? They could be trapped in the cab with significantly fewer supplies, and how much oxygen is in the trailer anyway? How long will it last?
The decision is made to open the door and try to fight your way to the cab to check their safety, then perhaps run away to try to find some other vehicle or shelter. You’re uneasy about this plan, but you realize there’s no choice. You decide to try to stick close to Sukuna, confident that he can take out any threat.
You hold your breath without realizing it as the door rises like a shutter, revealing dozens of zombies reaching up, trying to crawl in. How in the world are you going to survive this?! But before fear can grip you any tighter, you’re distracted by the sight of Sukuna leaping out of the trailer and right down into the middle of the herd, crushing several with his feet as he lands.
Tumblr media
Geto Suguru:
You’re not sure how you ended up sitting alone in the front cab of the truck with Geto, but here you are. Gojo went to ride in the back, saying he wanted to see what supplies Nanami found in the truck, and so it was just you and Geto as he drove down the highway.
Somehow, Geto is the most intimidating of the men, even more so than Sukuna. You’re not sure if it’s his aura of control, or if it’s just the fact that he’s so fucking beautiful that it’s hard to think straight when he’s near. How the hell is his hair so shiny and soft in a zombie apocalypse anyway?
Sure, he’s friendly and he smiles often, but you get the strong impression that these are surface level. There’s a darkness to him that seems to be sitting just below the surface, and it makes you nervous.
“Everyone got away okay, so I guess your plan was a success,” you say, remembering that he seemed to be worried that his decisions would get you all killed.
“Except Fushiguro,” he says, eyes narrowing slightly as he watches the road.
“I think he made it,” you tell him. “He was really sure of himself when he left, and anyway, it was his choice to break off from the group. You can’t be responsible for that.”
His eyes slide over to you briefly, and the dark edge to them softens just a little. “Are you trying to make me feel better?”
You find yourself flushing slightly. “Uh, yeah, I guess. Is it working at all?”
He smiles then, and it looks real to you. “A little. I appreciate your concern. Sorry if I made you worry about me.”
You can’t suppress a light laugh. “I guess we’re both worriers, huh?”
“Maybe we can help each other with that,” he says, and you start to relax around him for the first time.
It doesn’t last long.
He suddenly slams the breaks, causing you to lurch forward. You don’t miss the way his arm juts out in front of you to keep you from being thrown out of your seat. You look up through the windshield at the road in front of you and gasp.
Up ahead, absolutely filling the highway, is the biggest herd of zombies you’ve ever seen. There have to be hundreds of them! They’re far enough away that they’re not a threat right now, but the thought of trying to drive through them, of perhaps getting stuck in the middle of them, sends a chill down your spine.
“What do we do?” you ask. “Is there a way around?” You know you can’t go back the way you came. That leads back to the city, where the roads are blocked by abandoned vehicles and other obstructions, and by now there are probably even more zombies.
Geto pulls a map out of his bag beside him and looks it over. “I don’t see any roads that’ll take us where we need to go. We’ll have to try going through them.”
You gape at him. “Are you serious? What if you try to bulldoze your way through and the bodies get caught up in the tires?”
“I’m not bulldozing my way through,” he says, unbuckling his seatbelt. “I’ve noticed that they tend to shamble out of the way of large objects. If I drive very slowly, most of them should clear the road. I’ll go tell the others the plan.”
You watch him climb down out of the driver’s seat, worried now more than ever.
Tumblr media
Gojo Satoru:
You’re not sure how to act around Gojo now. Seeing him go berserk fighting zombies has given you an entirely different opinion of the man you thought was just an easy going goofball. It’s not that you’re afraid of him, but rather that you realized how little you know about any of these men.
And now you find yourself sitting in the front cab of the truck, wedged between Gojo and Geto. How did you end up stuck between the two hottest guys you’ve ever seen in your life? Gojo insisted you ride up front with them.
“You don’t need to be back there in that stuffy old trailer,” he’d told you as he practically dragged you to the front. “You ride up here with us. There’s an old CD player! We can listen to music.”
You didn’t have the heart or the will to refuse him, not when he looks at you with those lovely eyes.
Gojo has a big zippered case full of CD’s in his lap, looking through them as if he’s on a fun road trip and not fleeing a zombie horde. He chooses one and slides it into the stereo system of the truck.
Geto blanches beside you when the music starts. “What kind of trucker listens to 90’s pop?”
Gojo grins. “One with excellent taste!”
Geto rolls his eyes, but has nothing more to say about the matter, instead focusing on the road in front of him.
As the music plays, you realize how exhausted you are after the adrenaline rush of escaping the store. You haven’t slept well in weeks, naturally, and within half an hour, you nod off.
You awaken to the sound of Gojo’s voice, closer than you expect, and you keep your eyes closed as you listen.
“Hey, Suguru, look. She fell asleep on my shoulder.”
You almost jerk up to get off him when you hear that, just now realizing that the soft fabric beneath your face is his shirt. But you decide to stay still and pretend to be asleep. This might be a good chance to learn more about these guys.
“I guess all the excitement wore her out,” Geto says, and you almost laugh at how much it sounds like he’s talking about a child after a birthday party.
“She’s cute like this though,” Gojo’s voice says. “I wonder how long she’ll stick around.”
“Satoru, don’t get attached. She could leave at any moment, or be bitten, or just killed.”
There’s a pause where both men are quiet, then Gojo says, “I won’t get attached. But there’s no harm in having fun with her while she’s around, right?”
Huh? What does he mean by that? The only thing that pops into your head upon hearing that is, well, sex. But maybe he doesn’t mean it that way. It’s entirely possible that he’s talking about fun in a more general sense.
And to be perfectly honest, you’re not sure you’d turn down some apocalypse sex with a guy as gorgeous as him anyway.
But the next words you hear halt all sexy thoughts in your brain and make your blood run cold.
Geto says, “The harm is when you have to kill her yourself. Even if you just played around with her, that will leave a mark on you, mentally.”
Wait, what? Your heart races, and you will yourself to calm down. He probably means if you turn into a zombie, or get bitten.
Right?
But Gojo responds, “I don’t think it’ll come to that. Even if she doesn’t agree with what we’ve got planned, I doubt she’d get in our way.”
Get in their way? What the hell do they have planned?! There’s a lull in the conversation, so you use the opportunity to pretend you’re waking up. You rub your eyes and sit up.
“Where are we?” you ask, trying to sound sleepy and confused.
Gojo smiles at you. Damnit, why is his smile so dazzling? “We’re about fifty miles from the city now. Did you have a good nap?”
“Yeah, sorry for borrowing your shoulder,” you say, your embarrassment genuine.
He laughs. “You can borrow it anytime!”
“So… where exactly are you guys headed?” you ask, trying not to sound suspicious. “Do you have a destination in mind?”
The two of them glance at each other, then Gojo says, “There’s a group occupying a military bunker about a hundred miles from here. It’s a pretty small group, and rumor has it they’re running out of supplies fast. We’re heading there.”
“Oh, are we going to join up with them?” you ask.
Gojo’s friendly smile fades, and the look in his eyes reminds you uncomfortably of the feral beast you saw fighting zombies. “No,” he says, “We’re going to take the bunker from them.”
Tumblr media
Nanami Kento:
After taking Nanami’s hand, he firmly but gently pulls you into the back of the trailer attached to the truck. Now that you think of it, that perfectly describes the man himself. Firm but gentle.
As the truck begins to move, Nanami helps you over to the wall to steady yourself, and once the swaying stops, he walks over to one of the bags of supplies he found and pulls out a bottle of some kind. He walks over and holds it out to you.
“Do you like lemon tea?” he asks.
You smile as you take the bottle. “I love lemon tea,” you tell him. “Thanks.”
Cracking the seal on the bottle, you take a sip, not wanting to waste any. You could only bring so many things from the store, and who knows when you’ll find more supplies?
You hold the bottle back toward him. “Want a drink?”
He looks at it, then at your face. “Oh, you don’t have to share,” he says. “There’s another bottle.”
Is it your imagination, or is his face slightly pink? Is he seriously shy about drinking after you? Back in high school, a friend of yours called it an “indirect kiss”. Surely this grown man wasn’t thinking about that. It almost makes you giggle.
God, you haven’t actually giggled in so long.
“Nanami, this is literally the apocalypse. Sharing a bottle of tea is nothing,” you say with a laugh.
He gives you an embarrassed smile, then takes the bottle from you and takes a small drink before handing it back. “Thank you,” he says.
The two of you sit down on the floor, leaning your backs against the wall. You glance over at him. “So how did you end up with this group?”
“I went to high school with Gojo and Geto. As ridiculous as they can be sometimes, they’re both very reliable when it counts. So when they asked if I wanted to join them, I accepted. Higuruma is a friend I know from work. The others we met at a shelter.”
You remember Gojo telling you about the shelter where things fell apart. You wonder how Nanami felt about it, but you don’t want to be rude by asking.
“It’s nice to be with people you’ve known for a long time,” you say. “The familiarity must be comforting.”
“I’m sorry,” he says. “It must have been hard for you, being alone.”
The two of you spend the next hour or so talking, about your lives and careers before everything went wrong, about your differing experiences with shelters and groups so far, and about your plans going forward.
“Do you really think you can set up a permanent shelter?” you ask him.
He leans his head back against the wall. “I hope so. Being on the run all the time just isn’t sustainable. At some point we have to consider future generations, and how to safeguard them.”
You nod, thinking he really is a kind person.
Another hour later, and you feel the truck slowing down, then turning. When it finally comes to a stop, everyone waits for a few moments before the door opens. Geto is outside.
“We’re getting low on fuel,” he says. “We found a gas station so we’ll check to see if there’s anything left.”
Everyone in the trailer strands up, many of them stretching after two hours on the road, and all of you climb down to go check the convenience store.
Nanami holds out his hand to you after climbing down, helping you drop to the pavement below.
“Thanks,” you tell him, but you notice that he’s still holding your hand.
“You should stick close to us,” he says. “There might be a few-“
A groan cuts him off.  He turns to look for the source of the noise, his body going tense and his grip on your hand tightening. There, coming around the corner of the truck, is a small group of zombies, all of them looking starved.

Currently on Mockingjay in my Hunger Games reread, and I am at the part where Katniss walks in on Gale and Beetee making the two-tiered bombs that later end up killing Prim. I immediately started thinking about this post I saw forever ago about how Gale had no idea what those bombs were going to be used for, so it doesn't make sense to blame him for what happened to Prim, and I would just like to say: that is a load of horse shit. Not only did Gale help to build those bombs with their full use in mind, but they are based off of his snares and traps. Gale isn't just some lackey passing Beetee parts with no idea what's happening. He is actively giving Beetee ideas on how to target and kill as many people as possible. Just so no one can start arguing with me in the comments, here's the direct quote from the book:
"This is what they've been doing. Taking the fundamental ideas behind Gale's traps and adapting them into weapons against humans. Bombs mostly. It's less about the mechanics of the traps than the psychology behind them. Booby-trapping an area that provides something essential to survival. A water or food supply. Frightening prey so that a large number flee into a greater destruction. Endangering offspring in order to draw in the actual desired target, the parent. Luring the victim into what appears to be a safe haven- where death awaits it. At some point, Gale and Beetee left the wilderness behind and focused on more human impulses. Like compassion. A bomb explodes. Time is allowed for people to rush to the aid of the wounded. Then a second, more powerful bomb kills them as well" (Mockingjay, 216).
To say that Gale can fully help Beetee design bombs meant to kill children, parents, and aid workers, but then also say he had no idea what Coin was going to use them for is disingenuous. Gale might not have meant to target Prim specifically with that bomb, but he absolutely knew what they were going to be used for. He designed them with the intent to kill people rushing to aid those hurt in the initial blast- such as medics, which Prim is- so is it really a surprise when a bomb that has that specific function in mind kills Prim? This wasn't just some last-ditch effort on Suzanne Collins' part to eliminate Gale as a love interest (because she has been sowing the seeds of Gale's character arc since book one- you know when he says that killing people can't be that much different from killing animals). Katniss had every right to hold Gale accountable for Prim's death because she knew who designed those bombs and why he did it. Prim's death was an accident, but not because that bomb wasn't meant to target people like her, but because Gale didn't mean to kill Prim specifically. He knew what those bombs would do, he wanted them to do it, he just didn't intend for Prim to be there.

Until Forever Fell Apart satoru gojo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings: satoru + reader genre: angst. thats it. wc: 518 warnings: character death, grief
Tumblr media
Everything was easy with Satoru.
After spending a decade tangled in the ivy of your love, everything became easy.
Satoru knew you inside out, as did you know him. He was the missing piece that completed you, the one you lived for, the one who lived for you.
His burden of being the strongest, being the weapon, the Gojo clan's miracle suffocated him, but you were the air who supplied his relief.
So the day you fell cold and limp in his arms, cutting the lifetime yet to be spent with you he lost every ounce of humanity he had left in him.
He lost himself, just as he'd lost you, his other half. Call it cliche, but his heart became physically dented in the shape of you, now, it's shattered.
Every second of the day that passes, his eyes grow a little darker and his body begins to fail on him. He hadn't eaten for days, he thinks he doesn't deserve it.
His mind tortures him, replaying scenes of that day.
He beats himself up every passing day for leaving you to defend the students against all those curses, but he couldn't have left Megumi alone with Sukuna, not again.
Grief consumes him so wholely that he's not able to process the physical pain of his heartstrings tearing within him.
He hasn't been able to come to terms with the fact that you are gone. It doesn't make sense, truly. You were easily stronger than Mahito, but witnesses say that you were caught off guard.
Satoru just cannot believe it.
The war is over now. Alongside your passing he has also lost a few comrades. The war is over because when Satoru Gojo heard that you were down, he eliminated anything that could get in the way finding you. That included the King of Curses himself.
Witnesses say that they had never seen someone look so far from human. Satoru Gojo switched off all that was left of his humanity when informed that you were lifeless.
His heart feels like it is giving out on him. He feels like he's dying but nobody seems to care. Nobody cares because as long as he's above ground, he will only be seen as a weapon, a savior.
You saw him as a man.
Now he is nothing.
His heart stings at that thought.
It stings when he thinks about how soft to the touch your supple skin was and how tightly you used to hold him.
It stings when he remembers the warmth of your embrace - a feeling no other entity can replicate.
It stings when he begins to forget what your laugh sounds like, but he remembers your smile. Your smile that gave him purpose, the smile that kept him going.
But that smile is gone now. It's now a permanent stitch of a straight line caused by death.
Satoru's heart stings so much yet he doesn't notice that it stopped beating.
His heart yearned to see you again - it yearned so much that it could no longer keep going.
Satoru Gojo has died of a broken heart.

CHAPTER 3: The Fall
@pepperonyscience @authortobenamedlater @thefinaljediknight @p0tat0-g0ddess
@ionlymadethissoicouldleaveanask & @helix-enterprises117
The weary survivors, having gathered what meager supplies they can muster, gather about the Black Box. Instead of the avatar shimmering into existence, this image pops up with his voice narrating the projected images.
Tumblr media
“It began in 1995 when SETI discovered an unknown object in the orbit of Neptune. This unknown object passed through the outer solar system, passing by and scanning the various outer planets before continuing on its orbital period out of the solar system with a calculated return in approximately 80 years.”
“This information was at the time classified as above Top Secret, but the occasional leaks still got out. You may remember the Heavens Gate suicide cult who thought that there was a UFO hiding in the tail of comet Hale-Bopp in the same year that they thought was there to rapture them to heaven? They weren’t entirely wrong about the presence of alien life. They were wrong about their intentions, and how a rapture works.”
The image shifts to this new one.
Tumblr media
“After only 50 years, the alien starship returned in 2045. This time, it visited the inner planets and headed directly for earth. All communication and contact efforts failed as it approached our planet. The militaries across the globe manned their battle stations and prepared for the worst.”
The image changed again.
Tumblr media
“As the visitor rocketed past earth, it released approximately one dozen smaller modules that impacted around the globe. In addition, it launched a flak storm into polar and counter-rotation orbits at varying altitudes. This flak and the shredded remains of space debris obliterated most communication and GPS-navigational satellites, crippling our response options. Watch the movie ‘Gravity’ if you want to get the idea of what ‘Kessler Syndrome’ is.”
The image shifts again showing a burned out hellscape.
Tumblr media
“As the modules impacted earth, they simultaneously released a variety of biological weapons that eliminated almost the entirety of human life on the surface while discharging hunter-killer robots that laid waste to everything in their path. The remaining militaries of earth fought valiantly to fend off this new enemy, but conventional weaponry was ineffective against the alien tech.”
“We averted total annihilation by launching an overwhelming nuclear strike on the bases. While many missiles were shot down or shredded by the orbital debris cloud during the apogee phase of flight, ultimately the invasion was neutralized but the earth was ravaged. Overall, approximately 3000 megatons of whoop-ass were released.”
“There are a few pockets of survivors around, but by and large the surface is clear of human life. The alien bio weapon was terrifyingly effective but was only virulent for a short period of time before it burned itself out and died due to a lack of hosts…it also allegedly smelled like pumpkin spice by the victims before they perished.”
The avatar gives a sheepish look and crosses his arms before continuing.
Tumblr media
“So, uh, I know this is a lot to take in but there’s more. The virus didn’t exactly kill every human it contacted. As turns out…well, the virus killed everyone but it also turned only redheads into zombies.”
“So…yeah. There it is. We got a post nuclear world full of redhead and ginger zombies and radiation mutated monsters while the rest of humanity was more or less eradicated by a pumpkin spice flavored super virus just in time for Halloween. Oh, and the zombies follow pretty much standard zombie rules, bonks to the head only takes them out.”
“Soooooo…questions so far or should we also discuss alleged safe refuge at ‘Candy Mountain’?”

People asked to drop the Danger Days tl from my last post so I’ll do that.
*Disclaimer: Not canon at all this is just my personal idea and take on like. How all that happened. Based on what they said in the videos and comics sort of.
*Disclaimer 2: I have not read National Anthem and I don’t care if this doesn’t line up with that.
Zones Timeline
1947:
- Cold War begins.
1987: Dr. D is born (hey legend).
1991:
- Cold War does not end.
1996:
- 1st Helium War starts.
- NATO and the Warsaw countries exchange declarations of war.
- Most of Eastern Europe is destroyed first, followed by the Middle East. Russia remains intact, as do a few Western European countries. Not including Great Britain or Germany.
- Other countries fall into isolation in fear of being the next targets of war, and either disappear into themselves or join pacts with one another. Some disperse entirely.
1997:
- America dissolves into civil unrest after attacks on the mainland result in various important political figures’ deaths.
- A number of American states cede from the nation and become The Confederacy of California, as per their secession being definitely illegal, and they take the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, and Wyoming.
- Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas are disputed.
- The rest of the states are assimilated into The Federal Republic of The United States, however they are in constant political battles between themselves because now everyone either wants out of the nation or they want control of it.
1997-98:
- Technology stagnates, but still advances. Just nowhere near as fast as it did in our lives.
1998:
- 1st Helium War ends.
- Cherri Cola is born.
- Tensions between the COC and the FRUS are high strung but not hostile.
- This is generally considered peacetime, if peacetime can be defined as you and the person you just fist fought in the bathroom being forced to sit next to one another in the principal’s office. Alone.
- A company specializing in chemistry and weapons manufacturing under the name of “Better Tech” rises in the COC and the FRUS.
2000:
- 2nd Helium War starts.
- Jet Star is born.
- War is declared on the FRUS by the COC, and various military campaigns take place in the disputed states.
- Better Tech supplies resources to both sides in a kind of double entendre situation where neither side knows they’re actually being played.
2001:
- Party Poison is born.
2006:
- Kobra Kid is born.
- Fun Ghoul is born.
- Helium Wars end when a series of nuclear bombs are dropped around the Rocky Mountains.
- The FRUS is never heard from again, and radio/electronic communication is disrupted by damage to the earth’s electromagnetic field.
- Better Tech rebrands themselves to Better Living Industries and gain influence over the COC government with the aim of salvaging the country and fixing the physical damage done by the war as well as the mental trauma of the citizens.
2010:
- BLi attempt to take control of Latin America but are flushed out by rebellion, and Mexico’s border is closed.
- Canada follows suit soon after, and America is officially cut off. Trapping everyone who remains there within the country (legally).
2012:
- Pig Bombs drop, eliminating Texas and New Mexico, whose governments were still kind of functioning independently after Helium 2 and building resistance against the COC.
- Fires of 2012 destroy Phoenix but leave Las Vegas intact. All remaining military units are pulled to Los Angeles.
- This is where BLi’s intense propaganda machine starts working to cover up all the crap they do. Working in tandem with how technologically challenged most people are at that point.
- BLi take what’s left of the lower 48 and establish Battery City as the new capital of America. Their borders define the nation as California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.
- However, BLi becomes notoriously bad at maintaining and “cleansing” their proclaimed territories; and most of the area outside of Zone 3 sees little to no substantial BLi presence at all.
- Dr. Death Defying makes his first radio broadcast as a rebel.
2013:
- Analog Wars begin.
- Battle of Utah takes place wherein Salt Lake City is destroyed in a series of Killjoy v. BLi battles.
- Destroya was used for its first and only time during this battle, and was abandoned in Zone 3 during BLi’s retreat.
2015:
- Analog Wars pause after significant damages to both sides prompt an unofficial ceasefire, giving way to a long period of relative inactivity.
- BLi uses this time to build its presence in everyday life, establish the Zones, and advance it’s scientific research and development.
2028:
- The Girl is born.
- Girl’s mom is Drac’d
2029:
- The Girl is found by Killjoys.
- Analog Wars start up again when her existence is uncovered.
2029-35:
- These years see the most one on one fighting between kj factions and BLi since the Analog Wars first started.
- Generally remembered as a sort of Zones Renaissance due to the re-popularization of art, media, and philosophy within the killjoy community.
- Who had fractured off in the years after the armistice and became very detached from one another rather than a collective movement.
2035:
- The Killjoys die.
- Analog Wars officially end.
2036-47:
- The schools of thought built up during the renaissance period fade into the background once again as their figureheads either die off or become irrelevant.
- This is the era in which the Val Velocity era of killjoys grow up in. They were all born well after the Helium and Analog wars began and ended, so they have little to no connection to the values or customs of pre-war life.
- Its very Lost Generation-y in that everyone just kind of wants to party and forget about how their lives suck underneath all the glitter.
2047:
- California Comics events.
- Cherri Cola dies.
- Dr. D dies (rip legend).
- BLi is destroyed.

Finished the hierarchy of heretics so here's everyone:
Matron in the Playhouse : Heretics Hierarchy

- Overseers are those beyond Playcare that see who enters Playtime Co. and alerts all heretics.
- This group was Huggy Wuggy, Kissy Missy, Mommy Long Legs, and Daddy Long Legs.
- Kissy Missy and Daddy Long Legs remain as this group due to Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs deciding to fend for themselves after some time of The Hour of Joy and later being killed by Player in Chapter 1-2.
Brains and Brawn
- Brains and Brawn are those who are essentially the leaders of the heretics. They assign roles to others to keep all within the Safe House and those who are brought in are safe and taken care of, as well as make masks and weapons for the groups that go out and recover any information that the Bigger Bodies Initiative have left after The Hour of Joy.
- This group was Poppy Playtime, Eve Ewe, and DogDay.
- Poppy Playtime and Eve Ewe remain as during/after Chapter 3 events, DogDay is used as a Mini Critter skinsuit to chase the Player/Angel and is presumed dead.
Medics
- Medics are the team that are responsible for the heretic's health and bodily functions. They deal with any damages and injuries and perform stitching surgeries for those who may have lost limbs that the Medics have pre-made as replacements. Medics usually alert the Brains and Brawn if supplies run low so it can be stocked up before it is completely out.
- This group was PrettyPanda and CraftyCorn.
- PrettyPanda remains as the only medical provider due to CraftyCorn going into hysteria and killing a fellow heretic for "more red paint".
Voyagers
- Voyagers are the team that helps keep the heretics within the Safe House going and remain alive. They scout out areas of the Playcare and other areas within the facility for any survivors, supplies for Medics, mechanical parts for weaponry and masks, retrieve any grabpacks left behind, and ward off CatNap's henchmen and sometimes CatNap himself.
- This group was Dee Dragonette, SillySquirrel, KickinChicken, Hoppy Hopscotch, and Bubba Bubbaphant.
- Dee Dragonette, SillySquirrel, and KickinChicken remain as this group as Bubba Bubbaphant lost his way during The Hour of Joy and Hoppy Hopscotch is put into a different role.
Barn Hands
- Barn Hands either travel with Voyagers or on their own accord to find and retrieve any type of edible food and Poppy serum.
- This group was PickyPiggy and Bron.
- Bron remains as Hoppy Hopscotch and Bobby Bearhug move to this role after PickyPiggy tries to commit cannibalism.
Hansel & Gretel
- Hansel & Gretel specialize in being with the Voyagers to make guides back to the Safe House or make a note of what place is best to scavenge material. They use webbing, paper red hearts, and cryptic messages that only those who reside in the Safe House can decipher.
- This group was Bobby Bearhug and Wally Webbs.
- This team is eliminated as Bobby Bearhug moves to being a Barn Hand and due to Wally Webbs being killed by CraftyCorn.

An amazing article by Rascal News on how to evolve TTRPGs beyond wargaming.
While I have some disagreements with points in this article, a vast majority is something I've been exploring in my mind as a result of liberation work: how can our inner views of a future reflect in our games? I'll have some thoughts below. Buckle up; it's messy, long, and full of contradictions. Sounds like my life in college.
TW // discussions of violence, firearms, and global conflict
I think GRIM's world focuses on anti-imperialism, and even the organizations in the handbook are all flawed in some way or are even connected with the very empire you're fighting, kinda in a meta-way (empire vs. empire, but it was actually the same empire all the time??). The exploration of the world and uncovering the secrets through fighting hordes of corrupted former enemies of the empire OR salivating allies presents a sort of narrative that imperialism taints all, and even the weapons you use are brutal tools of violence and carnage in a world where speaking is no substitute for action in many cases. It's a sad world, but a world many live today.
One contentious thing I have as well is firearms in general in my games. I am fully opposed to these metal brutes that serve only to kill, but I also recognize their liberation capabilities. I also find them fascinating, similar to how someone may view medieval torture devices fascinating. Our hubris as a species is tied to the Gun, and it's interesting to see what incredible lengths we will go to in order to enact violence.
It's a mess, and a really nuanced conversation. I think here's my thesis for violence and militarization in my games.
1. Violence should always be lethal. There should always be a cost to violence in some way, whether in the world or through damage of some kind. That kind of dynamic plays well into the cost that real violence can bring. Killing can breed horrible cycles of violence that last thousands of years. It's no joke.
2. Weapons must be a by-product of a world corrupted by them. In Neon Nights, MOURN, GRIM, and other games, the world has made guns the way of the world, and are the most efficient tools for harm, which anyone will wield if the need raises. However, violence and weapons without cause just for the sake of violence is not the mission. I won't deny that dual wielding miniguns to take out enemies in GRIM isn't something I don't find cool, but I think that's something I may need to work on. Is it cool to celebrate elimination of enemies using tools of destruction? Is the focus on the liberation of the tyranny of violence being acted upon US, or are WE the violence enacting upon OTHERS? It's more of a narrative conflict, I would say, but if the tools are supplied, then outcomes unexpected may arise.
The answer is so complex. Is there an answer? Should we make dames AFTER the apocalypse, DURING, or BEFORE? Should there even BE an apocalypse denoting violence? I can't pretend I have all the answers.
One thing I can tell you is that my games, as time goes on, will focus much more heavily in themes I find important toward revolutionary practices, both peaceful and defensive. Never will violence and carnage against oppressed people or those that have done no harm to you ever be encouraged.
Thanks for coming to my talk. This is why I LOVE this article; lots to explore.
Also, snag my games in a bundle for $25. You're helping a trans person escape the death spiral of capitalism. Cheers.

Neon and noise filled the city, but Nick Fowler tuned it all out as she stood in the small, dimly lit bar on the edge of town. He hated meeting in a crowded area, but his handler insisted on meeting face-to-face for this mission. Nick wasn’t in the business of asking questions.
The door creaked open, and a man sat on the stool beside him—a middle-aged, cheap-suited, and slight-framed man—Nick’s handler, Elijah. He always had a way of blending into the background. No one would give Elijah a second glance, which was exactly why he was good at what he did.
“Fowler,” Elijah greeted, placing a thick envelope on the bar with a nod.
“Clarke,” Nick replied, side-eyeing the envelope. It was always business with the pair, no small talk or pleasantries.
Sliding the envelope closer, Elijah tapped it once with his finger. “We need someone with your particular skill set. A high-profile target.”
Nick flipped through the papers inside as he lifted the envelope. His blue gaze scanned the contents. It included a name, blurry surveillance photographs, and a list of recent movements– the standard information. He knew this target was protected, well protected, and heavily involved in the underground dealings overseas.
“The weapon broker?” Nick asked, his voice flat as he paused on a few details in the file.
“Among other things,” Elijah replied. “Supplying hardware to the groups we try not to speak of. And, other intel suggests there are plans of a major deal within the next month, and we want to intercept him… discreetly.”
Already mapping the logistics in his mind, Nick nodded along. “Where is he?”
“France, there’s a private compound in Chantilly. Security is tight– high walls, and heavily armed guards. No one gets in or not without the right level of clearance.”
Nick took a sip of his drink, raising his brow with a smirk. “Sounds like my kind of job.”
Elijah’s expression remained serious. “Fowler, this isn’t a typical job. A source says the broker is working closely with someone we’ve been watching– Lloyd Hansen.”
Something shifted in Nick’s expression as he looked up. Lloyd Hansen was a whispered name within their circles and an air of mystery and menace. He was a dangerous man to cross– a former military contractor, rumored to have high-level contacts and a network of operatives.
“Lloyd’s got a stake in this deal?” Nick asked, intrigued more than ever, now.
“We aren’t sure for now,” Elijah retorted. “It is reported the broker is close to him. It’s believed that if we can take the broker out, it could disrupt any of Hansen’s plans and force him to make a move.”
The pieces of the mission slotted into place in his mind as Nick processed the intelligence. He had heard all of the rumors, hundreds of times– the elite soldiers who were trained to move in shadows, their loyalty bound only to him. Most governments could only dream of the kind of network he had created, and Hansen was a master at wielding it like an empire.
“So I go in, eliminate the broker, and see if Mustache rattles?” Nick questioned, more to himself than Elijah.
“Exactly,” the man replied, his voice steady. “We hope that if Hansen is invested, he’ll come out of the shadows.”
Closing the file, and placing it back in the envelope, Nick gave Elijah a brief nod. “Consider it done.”
“Good.” Elijah narrowed his eyes. “And Fowler– watch your back with this one. Lloyd Hansen is not the kind of man to take such interference lightly.”
A smile tugged at the corners of Nick’s mouth. “I’m counting on that.”
Elijah rose, leaving the bar without another word and disappearing into the crowded city. Rubbing his hand down his face, Nick let the weight of the mission settle over him. France, a fortress compound, and a target tired to one of the most dangerous men. The job was risky, there was no denying that. But, that was what made Nick interested.
Pocketing the envelope, the agent finished his drink and slipped out. He had a flight to catch.

"Hezbollah's model is the same as the North Korean model: tunnels in which hundreds of combatants, fully equipped, can pass stealthily and rapidly underground. In our opinion, Hezbollah's 'Land of the Tunnels' project is much larger than the Hamas 'metro' project in the Gaza Strip." — Alma Research and Education Center, July 2021.
These tunnels facilitate the movement of heavy equipment, missiles and fighters, and even allow missiles to be launched from within.
Built beneath the border between Lebanon and Syria, these tunnels allow Hezbollah's smuggling unit and the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard's Quds Force to transport ammunition, supplies and fighters under the border.
Many of these tunnels are located beneath civilian infrastructure and populated areas, using civilians as human shields for their activities.
Some of the houses in Lebanon were destroyed by Hezbollah's own rockets and explosives after they were targeted by the IDF. "The explosions are caused by Hezbollah's own weapons. In other words, Hezbollah's tunnels are being used to blow up Lebanon. Hezbollah is displacing, starving and robbing the Lebanese." — Mohammed Al-Obaid, Arab social media user, X, October 31, 2024.
Hezbollah and Hamas bear full responsibility for the death of thousands of Lebanese, Palestinians and Israelis since the October 7, 2023 massacres in which Hamas murdered 1,200 Israelis. The two terrorist groups started the war, at the behest of their patrons in Iran, with the intention of killing a large number of Israelis and eliminating Israel. The vast network of tunnels they built in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip are an indication of the terrorist groups' determination to pursue their Jihad (holy war) against Israel, notwithstanding the risks to the Lebanese and Palestinian people living under their rule.
Even if Hezbollah says it will withdraw to north of the Litani River, the tunnels enable it easily to violate that pledge, with no one above ground the wiser. Hezbollah, moreover, never abided by UNSC Resolution 1701 to stop building tunnels and stockpiling weapons in south Lebanon.
The current war in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip must not end without the destruction of all the tunnels and the total defeat of Hezbollah and Hamas. Those who are pushing for an immediate ceasefire are only empowering Iran and its terror proxies, paving the way for another October 7-style massacre. The defeat of Hezbollah and Hamas will benefit not only the Israelis, but the Lebanese and Palestinians, as well.
