For Day 12 the Prompt calls for Maniacle Laughter - yes well, I've linked two things in there now. Firstly, the Elder Sign. As I have learnt it is a protective sign similar to a pentagram.

Only in the case of the Elder Sign, it is specifically intended to protect against everything that comes crawling and crawling from other dimensions. But what it doesn't help so much against is madness. Which brings us to the other components. Here I used an investigator from Eldritch Horror - Marie Lambeau. Her Insanity Game Over pretty much describes this scene. Addicted to madness, she wallpapers the walls of her hotel room in occult symbols - partly consisting of her own blood. And the desired, crazy laughter comes for free :D I actually wanted to mix in some occult magic formulae to provide a bit more variety. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything particularly interesting, so I used the Cthulhu Mantra instead. :P

Lan Qiren has to have monthly meetings on this where he reassures elders over and over that no, Wei Wuxian is not a fox spirit. No, he is not stealing Wangji's yang or qi. Yes, he is causing disturbances but that's because he's a disobedient, dishonorable delinquent. And please stop trying to find fox dens to destroy. It's ruining the landscape of Cloud Recesses and harming local wildlife.
