I’ll never get over how funny it is that the reason Teraeth reincarnated as one of the hellwarriors was because Atrin saw the man he was in love with (has literally never spoken to him ever in 500 years) and the woman he was in love with (he’s convinced she hates his guts) (knows they have some kind of affection for each other but is unclear on the details) volunteer one after the other and went ‘oh I cannot let them reincarnate together without me’ like yes he was emperor for five hundred years and undeniably changed the world yes he was an incredible warrior and strategist in his own right. Tony watches closely taking in the words and following along. It wasn't much, but it was a start. He wondered if there were a lot of different grammar rules. That would the the harder part to learn.

"Shit, how did I not even notice you put them in," he said shaking his head. "Thanks for the lesson. I'll have to learn some more for next time." That didn't come out right. "We see each other." Nope. Try again. "Could be handy in the field." Nailed it.

He raised an eyebrow at Clint. "Working out all day long? Or are you going to be working out and then just sitting in here alone?" he said. "How long is this holiday for Clint? You know you could come back to the team if you wanted to."

As far as Tony was concerned it was always the more the merrier of the team. They always made this big deal who was officially on the docket but it wasn't like they would chase someone off if they came to help. And now he'd spent so much time here, he was a little worried about him. Or maybe he was just looking for an excuse to make sure they saw each other sooner rather than later.

Whether Tony actually doubted him or not was not knowledge he had, but he did just assume that he had to prove he could cook. He might have issues, chunks of time where his apartment was a mess and so was his life and he got stuck like that. Isolated, made really bad decisions, had multiple breakdowns but he was fine.

Sure, he wasn't on the Avengers right now and he wasn't doing anything major, but he was still Hawkeye and he was fine. He had to prove that and sleeping with Tony Stark wasn't anything weird or major to be concerned about. Did he want it to happen again? Kind of, did he expect it? No, would he try to forget about this? Depends how much time passes, was he going to tell any about this. No, and he's pretty sure that Tony wasn't going to either.

They could be normal about this and still be friends. He'd rather cute off his arm than permanently lose anyone in his life.

He's never seriously thought about how to teach others, when Kate started signing to him that had came as a surprise he never expected. She was a lot better at it today, and had been committed to refining her knowledge on it. Natasha had already know, some job she had once, though she confessed she wasn't as familiar with american sign as opposed to another sign language.

Put it all today and it makes the question he asks, although Clint had put in his aids and turned them on. Finger spelling was good in a pinch or for one words and short words. ❝ They are on, by the way, and what I am going to do today is work out. Exercise. ❞ His hands make fists, and he lightly moves them up and down with his arms raised slightly, as if he was holding a weight. It's a sign that jut made sense.

Just a me thing but I kinda miss when we the audience didn't know much about the federation.

On top of that I miss the horror aspect of the island as a whole. Like cucurucho stalking people and if they got out of hand he hunts them down and fixes the problem himself. Tubbo, cellbit, philza theres more but u get my point.

Like I miss knowing as much as the characters, don't get me wrong I also like knowing about the inside and outa of the federation like elana our queen. But i kinda miss being as lost as the characters. Then again like i said I miss when they were scary honestly.

A bit off topic to the original post, thus me making a new post but I was looking at @thebestcrew and @the-orange-solace talking in the tags with a little from @korya-elana but it did have me somewhat wondering how a lot of terms that are used to try to describe experience / phenomenon within the overall concept of plurality / operating as more than one / operating as parts of a whole etc and sharing that experience with others might largely differentiate between the kind of different sorts of plural experiences out there - especially considering the widely varying ways / natures of those plural experiences.

It's something I'm honestly just kind of thinking about cause I personally see my parts (that were originally dissociated parts) and my story world + characters as both Parts of Me and Parts of My Whole, but in very different ways. And while I don't personally acknowledge that my story world + characters as a "plural" relationship, I DO acknowledge that had I not had a CDD and developed a CDD system, I could absolutely seeing the way I interact and understand those characters and the world as some form of an experience of plurality (as the characters made kind of authentically grow and act on their own within their universes and very much are direct aspects of myself exaggerated just a bit given life)

And so it does have me thinking a bit from an alternative perspective about the ideas of some of these interesting experiences such as shared mental worlds and spaces that can be had WITHOUT necessarily it being a metaphyiscal / spiritual thing OR it being system hopping or anything

Because over multiple years of writing this story - both of us having a history of extreme maladaptive daydreaming with the story - both me and my writing partner have this world that exists in our head and all the characters within it as well. I have "my" characters and he has "his" characters but only to the extent that those words define who knows those characters the best and which person those characters pull and thrive from and what not. Multiple times in the past though, when planning or discussing, we find that things in this shared world of ours inherently grows and syncs with one another - and I'm not saying this in some metaphysical spiritual or mystical way - but I think its incredibly cool how two people can very much develop such a detailed and vivid non-tangible entity that BOTH individuals can freely explore and often come to the same ideas and understandings.

And to that extent - for non-CDD systems - I do kind of wonder how the sharing, transmitting, and understanding of complicated untangible concepts really could hold a different perspective or value of interest than those with CDD. And on top of that, if even within non-CDD systems, the divide and difference between the subgroups particularly in relation to how much intention went into having plural experiences vs not and maladaptive daydreamers vs not and what not.

Just some open thoughts that I just kinda was having when reading that made me go hmmm

I'm honestly still extremely hesitant and uncomfortable with system hopping (especially as a CDD system / fused multiple, and honestly, even if there are different forms, there might be a better term than system hopping to prevent harm to vulnerable individuals if it was something other than what I understand it as), but I do think its kind of an interesting thought to consider.

As for before reincarnation? I'm not sure. We know S'arric was kinda just sitting there being fucked up for a while, so I imagine Elana/C'indrol was frequently at his side. Perhaps serenading him with a harp, which could've prompted Kihrin's fondness for it. And perhaps Teraeth's fondness, too, as he perhaps watched and pined from afar. I imagine Atrin, since Teraeth was fond of dancing (pre mos), perhaps enjoyed himself in those balls?

I'm also tempted to say they were having heaps of soul sex. But I'm actually not sure, despite how sexual they all are, that any of them would. Atrin may have been hung up on Elana and S'arric, Elana/C'indrol was probably hung up on S'arric (and maybe Atrin and Doc?). And S'arric himself. well. you know. perhaps they were having occasional unsatisfying soul sex?

As for Simillion. He was one of the Eight's favorite, right? So I imagine he was having a rather cushy time, perhaps studying to the extent he could.

What other werewolves novels/books do you like?

I'm on a quest to find more werewolf books that I like... and it really is a quest because a) I'm picky and b) I can't afford to buy them so I have to hunt them down at various libraries across the land.

I've read:

Did I like any of them?

Kinda. I like Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater and did enjoy the werewolves in New Moon by Stephanie Meyer (though I think they should've eaten those rich vampire arseholes and been done with it).

Ann Rice's Wolf Gift was... weird. It's been years and I'm still not sure I really fully understood what she was trying to do with that book. I still sometimes think about it, in a puddle of confusion and vague disappointment. On a happier note, I read the graphic novel adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard book and was obsessed with the werewolf in that, I just wish she stuck around for more than five minutes.

Howl by Shaun David Hutchinson and Red Hood by Elana Arnold were good books but, despite the branding, I'm not sure they really were werewolf books. While I enjoyed them, I think they're more... werewolf adjacent. Werewolf-like. Wherewolf... because where was the actual werewolf?

Mathilda, Herz & Verstand, Krabat, Madlenka, Tallulah, Sam, Agathe, Euphemia, Wellem, Jack, Sabrina, Captain (big), Erwin

Mathilda - Mathilda is one of the few dolls who gets changed every year, as she has two heads and I change her to pumpkin every autumn and back to human once autumn is over.

Herz & Verstand - A doll I really like as a concept. They show how torn Jaclyn is inside, that one demon rips her apart while the other is unable to fight them.

Krabat - "Krabat" by Otfried Preußler is one of my favorite novels ever. Also I am very found of the LP from ASP which covers the tale as well. My Krabat is kinda a mix up of everything with an own twist which is that Krabat becomes the new master at the end but his mind is warped and he borders insanity.

Madlenka - Madlenka is the bearded lady within the Sideshow, she has a wonderful voice and Krabat mistakes her for his Kantorka (whom was killed before he became the master).

Tallulah - As Vincent has Captain Sam needed his own pet Corgi.

Sam - AU Variant of Vincent & Samuel, he's their "what if the otherworld was truly fused with the real world" variant. He's a student with several issues, he lived at campus until he learns his father is getting married again - to a ringleader. He joins the circus but his father fears Sam gets hurt again.

Agathe - The "princess" in the magical girl storyline, she lost her life after Jaclyn was captured and haunts the cabinet Tulia is being held in.

Euphemia - A mermaid with a very positive attitude, she doesn't even care that her tail has been chewed off by other fish.

Wellem - Formerly a normal human who got lost in the woods. He had to feed off human flesh and got consumed by a forest spirit, turning more and more into an animal. He's roughly based on the Raven Stag from Hannibal (TV Series).

Jack - Juniper's little pumpkin brother, named after the original Jack.

Sabrina - Another fandoll. The series of 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' was a big part of my childhood, it took me some time until I liked the new series. But then I totally fell for it. Her head was originally an additional head for Loreley/Elana but then turned into a modding project.

Captain (big) - We have a SD sized Vincent we need a SD sized Captain as well.

Erwin - Erwin is a clown performer, he portrays Clowns that are popular in media. His big dream is to create an own persona but he is afraid nobody would like something he created.

I also deleted a bunch of stuff that was in my WIP folder cause it had been sitting too long without any work being done on it cause again, no ideas on how to flesh things out.

Spiritfarer Rant (It's Long)

Yeah. It's what the title says. I've been playing Spiritfarer a lot more recently, just wanted to share some shit my brain thought of. As a reminder, this is random shit I think of as I'm writing it and essentially rambling. Take all of my game analysis with a grain of salt. That said, play the game and be absolutely destroyed emotionally by the frog uncle.

(Putting the tldr here so people don't have to scroll)

Tldr: Spiritfarer is an excellent game that you should absolutely play. It pays attention to detail, has amazing characters and storylines, and is never boring for more than a few minutes (in my experience).

Holy shit this game is good. If you haven't played it yet (and don't mind getting absolutely destroyed emotionally by a cozy game) absolutely recommend. Absolutely. Play it. And face the consequences dear god this game is sad.

And that's coming from a person who is just so emotionally detached to media. I cannot remember the last time I cried over a book. (it was years ago, I remember exactly, I'm just a liar. Long story short, Xan from She Who Drank the Moon) The only spirits I cried over were Gwen and Stanley. (I think I cried over Stanley? Not sure.) But if the standard of the game is "I only cried twice playing this," you know that's sad. And honestly, It's kinda expected, what else can you really expect with a game about ferring spirits to their death while simultaneously being their therapist and friend?

But it's done so well. So well. I think this concept is so hard to pull off, and to pull it off to the degree that Spiritfarer does is insane. The attention to detail, the meticulous story-crafting, the way they made sure that every single character gets a backstory---even Stella's (the player) backstory is played out so well.

MINOR SPOILERS

Like, who came up with the genius idea of her sister coming on board and them traveling around and going through a photo album of Stella's life? Give that person a raise. And the way that the backstory isn't even revealed until relatively late in the game? I loved that. It's not thrown in your face, it plays out at your pace, and the whole shit with the owl and Lily and just ahhhh I loved it! Play the game.

Also, the way the game is interesting even when you aren't actively doing anything? There's almost always something to do. If there isn't, they give you something to do. You can always redo your boat design to eliminate those gaps again. You can always build more farms, you can always fish more, you can always do more.

And yes, it could get repetitive after a while, but they have quests! They have so many different and unique storylines for each spirit! And there's unique houses and flowers and likes and dislikes and preferences and personalities and gifts and emotions and moods and they even have different fucking hug animations! It's not just "oh there are people on the boat but they're just kinda there." NO. They are present at all times!

You'll be flying by and see someone call out to you. You'll be on your way to grab some crops and Beverly will give you some fireglow and tell you to make something spicy for her! You go onto an island and you see Atul picking berries! You go talk to Gustav, give him some food because he's hungry, hug him, talk to him and he gives you a vase! They are present, at every moment. Even with a large ship, an endgame ship with only a few spirits on it, it still feels full because you talk to them. You interact with them. You give them food---and you better not give Buck milk, because he's lactose intolerant, or Bruce and Mickey, well anything aside from junk food really, or Elana fine dining food---and you talk with them, and you share moments with them, you bond with them, and then suddenly they're gone.

Suddenly they're asking to be taken to the Everdoor because their time has come and you're devastated. Because now the character that you've spent so much time talking with, bonding with, enjoying talking to and interacting with, whoever it may be, is gone. And holy shit if that isn't one of the best representations of grief and loss that I've ever fucking seen I don't know what is. Now take that with a grain of salt because I don't have experience with grief or loss, and I can't speak for people who have had that experience. This game knows what it is, it knows what it wants to do, and it does it so fucking well. It lets you bond with these spirits, let's you get to care about them, learn their backstories, see how it affects them, how they change, and then you have to lead them to the afterlife, where you'll never see them again.

When playing the game, it really feels like every single detail is thought out, planned, cared about. The islands are amazing, the scenery is beautiful, have I mentioned the art style? It's amazing. I think the only game that could really beat it in terms of stunning art is Gris, but Gris belongs in a fucking museum sooooooo...

One big reason that I stopped playing Animal Crossing was because I felt like I was progressing too slow, wasn't getting enough done, or there wasn't enough to do. (Not saying Animal Crossing isn't a great game, just that it's not for me) Spiritfarer never has that problem. If a character storyline isn't progressing, work on another one! Stuck making a material? Move onto another project. Have too much time on your hands because your boat moves too slow? Gather more materials, talk with the spirits, make sure to stock up on their favourite foods so they're happy, or even take a break. There's never much of a lull, and while there are moments---mainly when sailing between islands---in which you can be bored, log off! Or just wait it out, it's never really more than a few minutes. For every quest that wants you to go somewhere and do something, there'll probably be one that wants you to make something: make a house, upgrade a house, make a production building, make this or that for one of Francis's errands, the list goes on.

And if you ever get bored with the main quests, or they're too complicated, or you can't find something (Henry the Acetate, I'm looking at you) (but I googled it for that), then there's civilian errands! You can do shit for the people in the towns if you want. Deliver records to these places, go through this mine, deliver a letter from Hummingberg to Nordsee. One of my favourite pastimes is cooking. I don't know why, but I just love cooking in this game. So, I've been trying to completionist it. (I won't, I'll give up 3/4 the way through and call it good enough) But even so, it just goes to show. There's really never a long period with something to do. The game stroked just the right balance between giving you things to do and giving you free time to do what you want.

I think I should end it here before this gets too much longer. But yeah! That's pretty much all of my thoughts on Spiritfarer. (Not really, but all of the ones for now) Amazing game, 5/5, absolutely recommend. (Please sponsor me Spiritfarer I would be great at it)

👑 - honestly it's probably a tie between Elena and Esteban. Their arcs are both handled *so* well. Plus their personalities are just really fun aornfkekdn they bounce off of other characters really well. I also really like Zuzo! He's just a really fun character. Honorable mention to Ixlan, for being hilarious, and Richard Horvitz Octopus, for being voiced by Richard Horvitz.

🌼 - THAT'S a tough one omfg- this show has so many great episodes- but I think right now I'd have to go with Elena's Day Off. Partly due to recency bias(just finished rewatching the show lmao), and partly just because it's a really fun episode. Sweetheart's Day is also really good but I ended up sleeping through that one on accident so I haven't actually seen it in a hot sec... Oh also shout out to Captain Mateo and the Lightning Warrior! GOD ITS SO FUCKING HARD TO PICK-

⚔ - Hmmm... I don't know much about what takes are popular in the fandom and which ones aren't, and even then I'm pretty sure most of my oppinions are pretty un-controversial. I guess maybe I think the finale's resolotion was a little rushed? Don't get me wrong it's an AMAZING finale, but especially Esteban's arc feels kinda forced. Idk how unpopular that is fuck-
