Eiji Aonuma: Since you play as Zelda in this game, it would feel weird if the character's expression didn’t match her situation at the beginning of the story. She must have been confused as she wondered what she should do. When she saw the wanted posters with her face, she probably thought, "But I'm a princess…"
Famitsu: That's a good point.
Aonuma: We put a lot of effort into adjusting the details of Zelda's eyes and other small aspects of her design. As the story progresses, you'll notice that Zelda's expression changes. At first she doesn't smile, no matter what happens. In the second half of the game, however, she smiles whenever she helps the people of various regions. Zelda has embraced her destiny when the king gives her the Royal Traveling Attire, and her face has an expression of "Okay, let's do it!" after that scene. We were always discussing how to convey these types of subtle changes as we worked on Zelda's design.

Aonuma quotes about the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, 2009, 2011.
Sources: Iwata Asks, The Guardian

QUOTE 1:
PEOPLE:
Eiji Aonuma, age 46. Ocarina of Time Dungeon Director.
QUOTE: "Aonuma: The Water Temple in Ocarina of Time was notorious for being very tough to conquer. I am most sorry that it was not easy for you to put on and take off the heavy boots; that all the time you had to visit the inventory. I am very sorry about that. I should have made it much easier to switch to the heavy boots.
Aside from the problem with the boots, I like the Water Temple so much."
QUOTE 2:
PEOPLE:
Eiji Aonuma, age 48. Ocarina of Time Dungeon Director, Ocarina of Time 3D Producer.
Satoru Iwata, age 51. President of Nintendo.
QUOTE: "Iwata: Aonuma-san, what was your motivation for making Ocarina of Time 3D?
Aonuma: As I alluded to when I introduced myself earlier, I wanted to do something about the Water Temple. Everyone talks about it, so it's been a longstanding wish of mine these 13 years!
Iwata: No matter how much praise Ocarina of Time has garnered, the Water Temple has always been an issue—like a bone caught in your throat for 13 years.
Aonuma: Yeah. The worst thing was thinking about how many people may have given up there. So this time, if we used the Nintendo 3DS system's two screens, I thought, ‘Link can put on and take off his Iron Boots in a flash!’ So we were like, ‘Let's do it!’"

In a recent IGN interview with Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma, he was asked when they decided during development that Zelda would transform into a dragon. Pretty wild but at the same time saddening at the same time.
Tumblr media
Now here are the big questions: Is the Light Dragon exist in the Age of Calamity Alternate Timeline? And where she in Breath of the Wild since there are now two Zeldas? One is her current dragon form… and the other is her past counterpart.

Miyamoto Still Minting Mushrooms: Nintendo Legend Remains Grounded, Eyes the Next Five Years
Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary mind behind Mario, Zelda, and countless other gaming icons, isn’t planning to hang up his overalls anytime soon. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the 71-year-old Nintendo figurehead quashed any whispers of retirement, emphasizing his ongoing passion for the industry. While acknowledging the fleeting nature of time, Miyamoto’s focus isn’t on sunsets and…

After hearing about what Aonuma said about Zelda and not wanting to go back to the old style I'll just go ahead and talk about it.
BotW and TotK are good games on their own. But as Zelda games they are incredibly dissapointing. I miss the BotW era of speculation where we thought it was going to be closer to something like Twilight Princess but you choose where you want to go. Now it doesn't resemble Zelda at all outside of the characters.
To segway, I think Light no Fire is gonna be a good example of what Open World Zelda can be if they just ditch the Zelda name like they should because it's not at all close to normal Zelda.
Also, while I have not played it, Tunic exists and I've heard it's pretty good so just play that if you want classic Zelda.

Aonuma on missing the Twilight Princess reveal, 2005.
Source: Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
https://www.notion.so/19841fe961fd80a5b9c6f877329478ba
PEOPLE:
Eiji Aonuma, age 42. Producer, then Director of Twilight Princess.
Shigeru Miyamoto, age 52. General Producer, then Producer of Twilight Princess.
QUOTE: "Aonuma: As soon as I arrived at my hotel in L.A., Nintendo people were congratulating me, saying ‘Nice job!’ and patting me on the back. I was like, ‘What? What did I do?’ Then I learned that the [Twilight Princess reveal] video [had already been shown] without my knowledge.
So I found Miyamoto and asked him, ‘Why didn’t you tell me? Why didn’t you schedule it so I could be there?’ He just said, ‘Oh, sorry, I forgot.’ Just like that. [Laughs] Later on I saw a video of the unveiling, though—saw people standing, clapping their hands, even crying. I was very impressed."
