IFTIRASH & TAWARRUK.
Two sitting positions between prostrations and during the tashahhuds, as prescribed in the Hanbali madhhab.
The first position – Iftirash – is to be performed during the first tashahhud.
The second position – Tawarruk – is to be performed during the second tashahhud.
If there is only one tashahhud in the prayer, such as in any two-unit prayer, the musallī is to conclude their salah in the iftirash position.
The tawarruk position is to only be utilized to conclude a three or four-unit prayer.

YOUR WIFE IS THE MOST DESERVING OF YOUR GOOD BEHAVIOUR
From Abu Hurairah [رضي الله عنه] that Prophet [ﷺ] said:
«إن أكمل المؤمنين إيماناً أحسنهم خُلقاً، وخياركم خياركم لنسائكم.»
❝The most complete of the Believers in their Eemaan are those who have the best manners, and the best of you are those who are best to their women.❞
[collected By Tirmidhi | Ahmad | Sh. Al-Albani: 'Saheeh' In Silsilah Saheehah, (No. 284)]
————————————————
Shaykh Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen [رحمه الله] said:
❝Regarding the saying of the Prophet [ﷺ]: ‘The best of you…’ This person is the best of the people, he is the best of them to his wife. So if you have any goodness, then make that goodness for the closest of the people to you, and make it so that your wife is the first to benefit from this good.
And this is the opposite of what some people do today, you find that he has bad manners with his wife, and has good behavior with other people, and this is a great mistake.
Your wife has the most right to good behavior, and having the best manners to them, because she is the one who is with you day and night, openly and secretly. If you are afflicted with something she is afflicted along with you, and if your happy, she is happy along with you, if your sad, she is sad along with you, therefore you should make your dealings with her better than your dealings with strangers, so the best of the people are those who are best of them to their wives.
I ask Allaah to complete my Eemaan and that of the Muslims, and that he makes us the best of the slaves of Allaah to our wives and upon those who have a right upon us.❞

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen رَحِمَهُ الله said:
“If you see yourself deteriorate, pick yourself up by repenting and seeking Allāh’s forgiveness and by asking Him to keep you firm.
And don’t become careless, and neither say: “In sha Allāh, my eemaan will become stronger.' (without doing anything about it).
Instead from right now - from the moment you feel that you are ill - you must implement the cure.”

Allah calls Himself Al-Mawlaa— The Master, The Protector— on 11 occasions in the Quran. Al-Mawlaa is the only one who is truly in control and who provides the most perfect support in each situation. He is the one who is near to us, as both our patron and ally, He is our ultimate back-up and His help is the only we seek!
The Master, the Patron, the Benefactor and Helper
Mawlaa comes from the root waaw-laam-yaa, which points to four main meanings. The first main meaning is to be near and to be a friend and supporter. The second is to defend and guard (in a loving way) and the third main meaning is to turn towards something. The fourth main meaning is to be master and lord.
This root appears 232 times in the Quran in 12 derived forms. Examples of these forms are tawallaw (“they turn away”), awlaa (“is nearer or woe”), al-waliy (“the ally”) and awliyaa (“allies”).
Linguistically, mawlaa comes from the same root as waliy and is a ‘noun of place’ (ism al-makaan). Both have the root wilaya which is the opposite of enmity (adawaa). A waliy is someone who is willing to help, protect and support you whereas a mawlaa is more than a waliy; it is someone who has the ability to protect you and does so. Allah is Al-Waliy, the Ally, the Guardian and He is Al-Mawlaa, the Master and Protector. He is the One infiniteProtector, He aloneis the best to protect and help.
Al-Mawlaa Himself says:… That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector [Quran, 47:11] and …But if you cooperate against him – then indeed Allah is his protector, and Gabriel and the righteous of the believers and the angels, moreover, are [his] assistants [Quran, 66:4]
A beautiful phrase in the Quran
Allah ‘azza wa jall mentions a beautiful phrase of dhikr in the Quran: But if they turn away – then know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper [Quran, 8:40] This phrase: ni’mal Mawlaa wa ni’mal Naseer – refers to the fact that Allah is the excellent Protector and excellent Helper. The same wordings are used in another ayah: He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper [Quran, 22:78]
Even though mentioned separately in the Quran, there’s another popular statement closely related in meaning: hasbunAllahu wa ni’mal Wakeel (Allah is sufficient for us and excellent Disposer of affairs). These two beautiful remembrances are often said together: Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal Wakeel, ni’mal maula wa ni’mal Naseer and combine a beautiful and powerful meaning.
Ni’ma means ‘what a perfect, what a wonderful, truly, and excellent…..!’. And what an excellent Trustee (Wakeel), what a perfect Master and Protector (Mawlaa) and what a wonderful Supporter and Defender (Naseer) Allah ‘azza wa jall is!
How Can You Live By This Name?
1. Call upon Al-Mawlaa and strive in His path. In both occasions Allah ‘azza wa jall mentions the statement: ni’mal Mawlaa wa ni’mal Naseer, it is preceded by the command to strive in the path of Allah and Islam. So if you struggle with your soul, wealth and person in the way of Allah with all your might, know that Al-Mawlaa will help you and protect you in the most perfect way. Use this powerful dhikr in your daily life and reflect upon its meaning!
2. Strive to be of the awliyaa. Allah has mentioned the signs by which His close friends or awliya’ may be known. They are: faith (eemaan) and piety (taqwa). Allah says: No doubt! Verily, the awliyaa’ of Allah, no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve. Those who believed, and used to fear Allah much [Quran, 10:62-63] Whoever is a believer and is pious is a close friend of Allah, and whoever is not like that is not a close friend of Allah. If he has some faith and piety then he is a friend of Allah to some extent. Nevertheless we cannot be certain about a specific person, but we say in general that everyone who believes and is pious is a friend of Allah (wali) [Fataawa Muhimmah, p. 83, 84] So strive to be of the close friends of Al-Mawlaa by fulfilling your obligatory acts of worship and supplementing them by many voluntary acts and good deeds!
3. Know that faith is thicker than blood. In the context of your relationship with the Prophet Ibraheem ‘alayhi sallam Allah ‘azza wa jall uses the word awlaa (أَوْلَى) in the Quran: Surely the people who have the best claim to a relationship (awlaa) with Ibraheem are those who followed him in the past, and presently this Prophet (Muhammad) and those who believe in him; Allah is the Guardian (Waliy) of the believers [Quran, 3: 68] Awlaa comes from the same root as mawlaa and means to be more entitled and worthier. What you can learn from this ayah is to actively study the lessons from the story of Ibraheem ‘alayhi sallam, subsequently increase your love for him and strengthen your Muslim identity over any other identities. Let it motivate you to follow the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam first and foremost above cultural practises!
4. Be helpful. Be supportive and helpful to others and instead of being passive, actively look for the weak in your community and stand up for their rights. Out of love and fear for Al-Mawlaa fulfil your duty in the ummah to the best of your ability as the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. [Muslim]
5. Do dhikr with this name. Every night before you go to sleep, recite the last ayaat of surah Al-Baqarah [Quran, 285 – 286] in which Allah’s Beautiful Name Al-Mawlaa is mentioned:
أَنْتَمَوْلَانَافَانْصُرْنَاعَلَىالْقَوْمِالْكَافِرِين … You are our Protector, and help us against the disbelieving people [Quran, 2:286] The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Whoever recites the last two verses of surah Al-Baqarah at night, those two verses shall be sufficient for him [Al-Bukhaaree, Muslim] Put a reminder in your bedroom, memorize them and learn the meaning. To read the word for word meaning of this ayah, study here: https://understandquran.com/resources/free-online-quran-word-by-word.html#!#/quran-wordbyword/2
Wallahu ta’alaa ‘alem
O Allah, Al-Mawlaa, we know that You are the Master and provide the best protection. Aid us in striving in Your path and support us with when we do so. Make us of Your awliyaa and support us in following the Quran and the Sunnah. Give us the tawfeeq to help others and remind us to call upon You with full reliance day and night, in easy and hard times, ameen!

اللهم اجرني من النارا, أو مثلي يسأل الجنة؟"
“Oh Allah save me from the fire, can someone like me even ask for jannah?”
How can a neglectful soul like mine ask for Jannah, if it is made for those who spent the abundant and scarce, and the precious and cheap, for those who choose it over this dunyah, for those who repent and are patient, for those who are grateful of Allah’s blessings and thank him daily regardless of their pain and sorrow, for those who never feared anyone but him and the blame of blamers could never shake them, How dare my soul ask for something It hasn’t paid the price of? Shame on it and woe to me for my transgression and shamelessness in front of my lord! how will I meet him while being fully aware that his most beloved servants were chained & k-lled by the worst of creation and that I had enough with speaking about them, but does speech even do a change? Do words open gates, erase years of pain or bring back glory? Will my words even be an excuse for me in front of my creator? Or will my words even be an excuse in front of them!? Forgive us Oh Rabi, our hearts are too weak to suffer what they suffered, we don’t carry enough eemaan in them to sacrifice what they sacrificed, Forgive us for we transgressed in sin and neglect, forgive us for our Walaa to Muslims is just a claim, forgive us for humiliation covered our faces, forgive us for our nafs is always the winner in its battles against us.

Sufyān ibn ʿ Uyaynah (رحمه الله) said:
Never leave off making du'aa nor allow whatever bad deeds you have done prevent you from it (i.e. making du'aa) for indeed Allaah answered the du'aa of Iblees [Shaytaan] - and he is the most evil of the creation - when he said:
Allow me respite until the day they are raised up (i.e. the day of resurrection). He (Allaah) said: ‘You are of those allowed respite’.

Do Not Grieve Over The Past
Shaykh AbduRahmaan As-Sa'adi [رحمه الله] said:
❝Do not grieve over past matters which have not been destined, from ill health, or loss of wealth or a worldly matter, etc.
Your concern should be with rectification of actions on the day.
Since a person is living in the moment. He should not be saddened for what has passed. Also he should not research into the future where that research would not be of any benefit.
It is upon you to be truthful, fulfill your contracts, keep to one's promises and justice in all dealings.
Fulfilling rights completely and perfectly with a tranquil soul and with truthful pure Eemaan.
Busy yourself with your own mistakes and your matters, rather than the mistakes of the people and their matters.
Deal with everyone according to their situation and condition, whether he is a senior, or youngster, male or female, a leader or a follower.
Be gentle and merciful to everyone even animals and livestock, since indeed Allaah is merciful to his merciful worshippers.
Be balanced in all your matters, and open up your mind to every religious and worldly benefit.❞

Allah’s name Al-Mushin— The Good Doer, the one who does ultimate good— is not mentioned in the Quran but occurs in narrations of the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Al-Muhsin is the one who loves and inspires doing good in His slaves and who possesses the perfect good and excellence in all He makes happen!
The Good Doer, the Supreme Doer of Good
Muhsin comes from the root haa-seen-noon, which points to four main meanings. The first meaning is to be and to do good and to pursue excellence The second main meaning is to be beautiful, and the third is to be kind. The fourth main meaning is to be suitable, proper, and fitting.
This root appears 194 times in the Quran in 12 derived forms. Examples of these forms are ahsana (“does good”), ahsanu (“is best”), husnan (“good”) and al-muhsineena (“the good doers”).
Linguistically, hasana is the root for the words hasan (good), ahsan (better), and (al) husna (the best). The Islamic concept of ihsaan, or excellence, comes from the same root. A muhsin (male, plural muhsineen) and a muhsina (female, plural muhsinaat) are those who do good and who when saying someone did well, can say: ahsant (-i or –a), which means “well done” or “excellent!”
Al-Muhsin refers to the One who is perfectly good in His Essence and who does all His actions in the best possible manner, achieving excellence and reaching ultimate beauty and perfection.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Surely Allah is Muhsin and He loves ihsaan in everything; if you kill, kill in a good way and if you slaughtered, slaughter in a good way . . . [part of the hadith- At-Tabaraani and Al-Albaani, Saheeh Al-Jami]
Islam, emaan, and ihsaan
There are three degrees of Islam, which are Islam, eemaan, and ihsaan. Islam means submission, and when mentioned separately from emaan it refers to the religion as a whole, as Allah says: Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. [Quran, 3:19] When Islam is used with the word eemaan (faith or belief) it refers to outward deeds and words, as Allah says: The bedouins say: ‘We believe. Say: You believe not but you only say, We have surrendered (in Islam), for Faith has not yet entered your hearts…’ [Quran, 49:14]
The second degree is eeman, which means belief committed to submission and may mean one of two things. When it is used without the word “Islam,” it refers to the religion as a whole, as Allah ‘azza wa jall says: Allah is the Wali of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. [Quran, 2:257]
Allah limited the word emaan to those who adhere to His religion in full, inwardly and outwardly, as He says: The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord. [Quran, 8:2] When emaan is used with the word Islam it refers to inward beliefs, or the actions of the heart.
Thus, when either emaan or Islam are used alone, there is no difference and they both refer to the entire religion. If there is any difference between them, Islam refers to outward physical actions and the word eemaan refers to inward actions of the heart.
The third degree is ihsaan, which in Arabic means doing something well, perfectly, and sincerely. Islamically it may mean two things: when used alone and not with Islam or eemaan it refers to the religion as a whole.
When it is used with either or both Islam and eemaan the meaning is perfecting one’s outward and inward deeds. The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam beautifully explained the meaning of ihsaan: It means worshipping Allah as if you can see Him, and although you cannot see Him, He can see you. [Al-Bukhaari, Muslim]
How can you live by this name?
1. Strive for ihsaan.
Ihsaan is a complete way of life, so let this concept accompany you in all your actions. Strive for al-ihsaan in your relationship with Allah ‘azza wa jall as in being able to worship Him as if you saw Him and strive for al-ihsaan as good behaviour to others, like kindness to your parents, relatives, the poor etc.
When you have a guest, give them the best you have. When you are with your parents, show them the best of your manners. Also appreciate the ihsaan of others.
Strive for al-ihsaan as an act of excellence and in your relationship with yourself, meaning in every deed you do, you try your best! When you are at your job, do your best, when you are at school, try your best. The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Allah has prescribed al-ihsaan in every matter. [Muslim] SubhanAllah, we are even asked as Muslims to sharpen the knife when we slaughter as to cause minimal distress to the animal.
2. Study the Quran to find out what is good.
On many occasions in the Quran the muhsineen, the good doers, are mentioned. The muhsineen are loved by Allah ‘azza wa jall and close to Him and Allah even describes actions characterizing them, pay special attention to these ayaat. Allah says: And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good (muhsin) – then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold . . .[Quran, 31:22]
Make it your mission to find out what the Quran says about what are good deeds and what their reward is, so you can apply them and become of the muhsineen inshaa’Allah!
3. Realize that Allah’s ways are excellent.
Allah is the only true Mushin. He is perfect in His Names, attributes, and actions. Truly realize that everything Allah ‘azza wa jall gives and takes from you, is for your own good, and let this inspire you to complain less and start being more content. Allah’s ihsaan is general with the whole creation; He created you in a perfect way without being asked and His ihsaan is specific. He rewards the good doers with the place of ultimate good: His Paradise!
4. Ask Al-Muhsin.
Allah ‘azza wa jall says in a heart-melting ayah in Surah Ar-Rahmaan: Hal jazaa’ul ihsaani illal-ihsaan – Is the reward for good [anything] but good? [Quran, 55:60] Each day ask Al-Mushin for ihsaan in all aspects of your life, in your inward and outward actions. Do you worship Allah as if you see him or at least as he sees you? Ask Him to bless you with the highest degree of ihsaan: apart from being aware He sees you, worshipping Him as if you see Him!
5. Study the names of Allah.
O Allah, Al-Mushin, we know that You are Doer of ultimate good. Adorn us with ihsaan in all our aspects of life and make us worship you as if we see You. Include us in the rewards of the muhsineen and make us live by the fact You are perfect and beyond excellence in Your dealings with us. Bless us with good in this life and the ultimate good in the Hereafter, seeing You in Paradise, ameen!
