also since i made similar posts on this before, thought it would be nice/helpful to group all these heroes together side by side because, why not

so here’s an age ranking of all the younger generation heroes from young justice animated

it goes from oldest to youngest

fyi jaime and tye r listed in their wikis as born 1999 but i put them in 2000 because that seems to be the general consensus and what the show suggests

bart is technically born 2043 but he’s the equivalent of born in 2003

original roy harper was physiologically 15 when he was found in 2016 so i put him as the equivalent of 2001 even though he’s born 1992

violet is technically listed as born 2018 because of their fusion with mother box but i referred to their host body’s physiological age too.

idk if uve said this anywhere but is hector the oldest youngest middle child etc like whats the dynamic here

Ohhhhhh boy u don't know what u have just strapped urself into

SO! Hector is the oldest of his 4 siblings. In order, it's: Hector (born in 1939), Eduardo (born in '40 or '41 I haven't decided yet), Ricky Jr. (1945), and Alaina & Alberto (twins, born in '47). They're pictured below in order

Hector is an oldest sibling to a T. However, he didn't get to exert that for long in his child and teenhood. He's put away in '56 and so his youngest siblings grow up mostly without him, leaving Ed as the default oldest. And Ed is more than happy to abuse that title. He's always touting that "he's the oldest, what he says goes". He's the one who heads the business (more aptly the seedlings of a future crime organization) and he often calls the shots. Ricky is his right hand man of sorts and effective co-leader but Eduardo is an extreme narcopath; at the end of the day, he needs to be recognized as the boss.

Like I said, too, Hector's away for nearly two decades. So his dynamic with the siblings is incredibly... vacant. And not long after he's released, it's replaced with fear. And they thought Ed was a handful to deal with.

Hector loves his family the way Logan Roy loves his children. And that's something that he and Ed, for all their problems, had in common. They like their family the best when they're in their designated roles and when they themselves are in their set place (above everyone).

Since we're talking specifically about Hector's dynamic with the sibs, I'll keep it brief and give an overview:

Hector and Eduardo: Two children fighting over one toy. One's solution is to steal it away and the other's is to break, because if he can't have it, no one can.

Hector and Ricky: Ricky's a bastard but he's a bastard who's loyal to the family's needs. The "yes" man.

Hector and Alberto: Alberto gets a pass for being weak on account of his piety. He does what Hector says and that's what matters. On account of him being the babiest brother, there is more affection for him, but again, Berto is good at keeping his head down

Hector and Alaina: Alaina may as well not exist to Hector. She was already gone after he got out, so that's the truth.

There's a lot, lot, lot, LOT of history with these siblings. The many different dynamics btwn different sibs and sib groupings say a lot about them and their upbringing. And by 2002, all Hector's brothers and his sister have been out of the picture for various reasons. The man who pushed and pushed and pushed them wonders why he feels a little more hollow.

2016's ‘Pamilya Ordinaryo, Directed by Eduardo Roy Jr.

Is a family portrait of Jane, 16, and her boyfriend, Aries, who live on their own in the chaotic streets of Manila. Surviving as pickpockets, the lives of the young couple change when they suddenly become teenage parents. But not even a month into parenthood, their child is stolen from them. In order to retrieve the child, the young couple is forced to take desperate measures.

 I was nearly a teenage parent. I was a stupid, rebellious kid with an on-and-off, "ride or die" girlfriend who was also stupid and rebellious and eventually lived with me (at my parent's house) due to "an unstable living situation."

During our senior year, she had gotten expelled from school for retaliating against someone who picked on her gay brother; I had also gotten expelled for essentially retaliating against those responsible for it all. And there we were—two notoriously impulsive, irresponsible kids in an unhealthy relationship about to have a kid. We were the definition of "not ready for that responsibility" for various reasons that I won't get into here. Had we stayed together (seriously, the relationship was toxic as fuck) and if we had had a child together, it would've been a nightmare for all those involved, including the baby.

Ordinary People is an infinitely bleak portrait of two stupid, rebellious street kids in a toxic relationship who have a baby together. To me, it works as a persuasive advertisement for why teens shouldn't have children. They virtually always lack the emotional tools and material resources necessary to provide the care a baby deserves. Kids can't raise kids, even less so when destitute and living on the streets.

The film's dire world is fleshed out with opportunistic media types, ain't-shit-cops who personify the term ACAB, and predatory bamboozlers donning the mask of altruistic do-gooders who all exploit the vulnerable for self-interest.

I mainly appreciate the ethos that imbues this dire world, as it mirrors the cruelty and indifference that's part and parcel of daily life. Whether one chooses to acknowledge it or not, and irrespective of your level of exposure to these harsh realities, Ordinary People is, at least in part, a reflection of struggles routinely greeted with contempt, diminished in significance, invisibilized, and blended into the tapestry of everyday backgrounds. It forces the viewer to witness oppressive economic and class disparities rendered ordinary. (Whether or not you believe this film does a good job of exploring these issues is a separate discussion. At minimum, said issues are highlighted, even if only indirectly or understated.) The movie itself is solid, though it isn't quite remarkable, mainly due to its simplistic story simply not being incredibly compelling in addition to not really having characters you care that much for.

Perhaps the best thing about Ordinary People is the strong performances, which are both good and bad. It's "good" in the sense that the characters are believable, they feel lived in, and you can almost taste their desperation. It's "bad" insofar as how goddamn frustrating it was watching the two main characters repeatedly make mind-numbingly foolish decisions that cause you to internally groan and shout within yourself, "Of course a kid would do that dumb shit!" 🥴😖

Charming but timid college student Mando is your typical hopeless romantic. He meets Barry, an out-and-proud basketball star who is practically a prince from a fairytale. The only thing spoiling Mando's happy ending is the fact that Barry already has a boyfriend. To move on, Mando goes out with liberated architecture student Krisha and the two become lovers. One fateful day, Barry walks back into Mando's life. Now, he needs to choose -- will it be mind over heart or heart over mind?

The intro melody of this TV series somehow reminded me of The Sims and when I started watching the first episode, I wasn’t sure what exactly I am watching... The dream fairytale beginning got me confused, but I was quickly reassured when they skipped to the next part and it turned out it was all just a dream. This show was really likeable because of its’ upbeat style, optimism and youthfulness. At first it seems like the characters and the plot is kinda simplistic and black-and-white, but later on it deepens when we get to know the background stories of the characters and their families. I liked all the characters. Vince was especially funny with his facial expressions, although his mannerisms were a little bit too forced IMO, I wish we got to see him smile more because he was mostly frowning... Krisha was also really sweet. And what other to say about the main characters than cute and handsome... :) Also, Barry’s got a nice butt as we can see in one episode under the shower and a very...inviting bulge in his trousers in all the dream scenes, so there you go :D Somebody had to say it. I really liked the series, but it had its share of overly dramatic scenes and sometimes it felt too sugarcoated.

i like to think that all the superhero playdate kids are friends with Bart since he was implied to be a regular at those in s3, and when each of them at the wedding saw him after he got there they ran over to say hi and give him hugs and if any of them heard he'd gone missing they were like "I'm so glad you're okay!!!"

Bart would absolutely be their favourite person!

With how the seating plan was set, to me it looks like Roy’s been lumbered with watching the kids - which he absolutely didn’t ask for and so I am now imagining… the kids are all playing together after the ceremony and Roy is still on babysitting duty - begrudgingly - he had tried to make his escape but Will caught him. Then the kids spot Bart and they get excited and he gets excited and they all start playing together and Roy spot the perfect opportunity to handoff responsibility to Bart for a while (definitely for the rest of the night) and obviously Bart accepts - he loves watching the kids. Then just as he’s about to escape, Ed corners him and starts teases him about how he’s been staring at perdita all night which roy tries to deny but Ed sees right through it (I am sticking with the roy/perdita bond until the comics confirm it isn’t a thing!) Then Ed gives roy a friendly reminder of considering a bit of sensitivity toward the fact that perdita and Gar - a fellow teammate - have got rather serious history which ended in a pretty messy break up - to which roy assure him his only intentions are thanking her for the drink she brought him whilst he was stuck on babysitting duty. They part ways and Ed just stands there taking in the image of Bart having the time of his life playing with the kids - it’s a sight he always loves seeing… also I kinda really like the idea of amistad instead going over to stand with Ed, as he prefers his more calming/chilled out energy to Bart’s loud and chaotic energy, he feels comfortable around Ed and so the pair simply stand together in silence for a bit whilst watching the chaos in front of them.

“Wait, why aren’t I rooming with Asami?” You asked Oliver Queen, your tour manager.

“Tye gave me 20 bucks to switch the rooms.” Oliver said, only half listening as he wrote something on a clipboard. “You’re in room 24 with Eduardo and Virgil. Go.”

“But-“

“No.”

“What about Roy?”

“He’s with Brion.”

“But-“

“Go.”

You huff in irritation, but comply with his orders and start walking towards the room. You really didn’t want to share a room with Eduardo. It wasn’t cause you disliked him or anything, in fact, it was the opposite. Usually you and Asami shared a room while the boys were crammed into one, but apparently Tye wanted to room with his girlfriend. That sneaky little son of a-

“Wassup, roomie?” Virgil grinned from where he was searching through his bag.

“There’s only two beds, why don’t we share?” Eduardo smiled suavely. You didn’t take it seriously, he flirted with everyone.

“How about you share with you best friend over there?” You poke his chest and walk past him to a bed, tossing your things onto it.

“Oh hell nah.” Virgil shook his head. “He’s a blanket hog.”

“And you’re a bed hog.” Eduardo retorted.

“That sounds like a personal problem.” You shrug at them.

Later that night, after the show, you go take a shower, since the guys were just gonna take a quick on in the morning rather than at night.

“Dude, you gonna make a move or what?” Virgil asked his best friend, flipping through the tv channels.

“What move am I supposed to make, exactly?” Eduardo raised an eyebrow.

“I don’t know...”

“Helpful.”

“Shut up!”

Eduardo rolled his eyes, the zones out when Virgil put on the Food Network. His heart rate picked up as he thought about you, his nerves getting the best of him.

When Oliver told him you’d be rooming with him and Virgil he was instantly worried. He had to get dressed around you? He had to do his whole morning routine around you? You were going to see him with bags under his eyes and his hair not properly done? He snored, you were going to hear that? Disgusting. Hopefully Virgil would smack him awake before it got too loud and woke you up. He would be humiliated.

“Hey can one of you grab the hair dryer?” You shout from the bathroom.

He looks at Virgil, who motions for him to get up and do it. Eduardo sighs, going to your bag and digging until he found said hair dryer. He knocked on the door, blushing like mad when you opened it enough to grab it, only in a towel. He turned away as you shut the door again, trying to stop his cheeks from burning and his heart rate picking up again. He couldn’t handle this stress, he would have a heart attack by the end of the night!

“I’ll be right back.” Eduardo muttered to Virgil, who was only half listening as he watched a rerun of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

Eduardo walked down the hall until he reached Tye and Asami’s room, then banged on the door. He rolled his eyes to sky when Tye opened the door, shirtless, hair a mess and Asami’s lipstick marks on his lips and jawline.

“Is there something I can help you with?” Tye raised an eyebrow nonchalantly.

“I hate you.”

“Okay?”

“Seriously. You suck.”

“Okay?”

“Okay?” Eduardo minicked, beyond annoyed. They stared at each other for a long time, Eduardo seething and Tye generally uninterested.

“...is there a reason I’m still talking to you?” Tye raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah. You and Y/N have to switch back.”

“What? No way. I paid 20 bucks for this.” Tye put a hand on his hip stubbornly.

“Ooh, 20 whole dollars, wow.” Eduardo mocked sarcastically. “Asami! Your boyfriend is outta here!”

“Whatever.”

“What? Hey!” Tye shouted, offended and embarrassed when Eduardo cackled at him. “This conversation is over.”

Eduardo opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off by the door slamming on his face. Quite literally, his nose now ached.
