‘You’s Season 4 Finale Taylor Swift Needle Drop Is Brilliant on so Many Levels
The Season 4 finale of Netflix’s You includes a Taylor Swift needle drop so perfect that amidst the most gut-wrenching betrayals, gruesome murders, and twisted storylines, you can’t help but emit a genuine cackle. If you have yet to watch “The Death Of Jonathan Moore” and want to avoid spoilers, you may want to stop reading and sprint to your nearest screen to binge-watch the rest of the season.…

You season 4: Kill the Rich
#YouNetflix review is up! You knows it is not praised for its acting talents (except for Badgley) or its plot but it knows what it is, unashamedly so and is fun to watch. There is enough of an interesting concept to keep you hooked and enough silliness
⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 3 out of 5. We have seen Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) in a variety of situations. As a bookstore manager, trying to find himself in LA to being a suburban father but now we get Joe taking up the alias as Jonathan, an English University professor who finds himself sucked into the lives of the rich. Joe has a habit of stalking women, killing them and anyone who stands in his way. After…

Netflix is so funny. The streamer goes radio silence on their projects for years ::cough:: THE OLD GUARD sequel ::cough::, then turn around and say, "By the way: this and that drops tomorrow."
Or tonight in the case of the new SING short. Did you know there was going to be a SING short? Neither did I. But today Netflix announced that tonight at midnight, the Halloween themed SING short will debut.
SING THRILLER.
Tumblr media
What is is about? Well, just that. The gang decides to stage their version of Michael Jackson's music video "Thriiller"
Tumblr media
Returning for the short is Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon, Tori Kelly as Meena, Nick Kroll as Gunter, Scarlette Johannsson as Ash, Garth Jennings as Miss Crawly and Taron Egerton as Johnny.
To prove the global reach of "Thriller" Taika Watiti did a Haka inspired bent at the end of his film BOY.
youtube
Taron Egerton's not coming off of his IG hiatus for this, but perhaps he will in December when his Netflix thriller CARRY ON is finally released (on December 13th, to be exact.).
Maybe by December 13th they will release a better poster.
Tumblr media
Entertainment Weekly exclusive pictures from the upcoming film (and other KINGSMAN alums goings-on).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Edward Holcroft has provided Taron's fans with a few glimpses of Taron since his self-imposed social media hiatus,
Tumblr media
I'll give Ed equal time.
Holcroft's Lithuanian limited series A WOLF'S PALATE (which, to date is Lithuania's most expensive sereis) is one of the five series selected to screen at TV Beats Forum's inaugural screening day on November 20th.  The six-parter, A WOLF's PALATE is described as a psychological drama with supernatural elements.
Tumblr media
While I await Ed's return to the screen, I just have to be satisfied with his selfies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our other KINGSMAN alum, Colin Firth has been absent from screens for a moment, but he will soon be back with the Sky/Peacock five-part limted series, LOCKERBIE: A SEARCH FOR TRUTH.
Tumblr media
LOCKERBIE: A SEARCH FOR TRUTH tells the real-life story of Dr. Jim Swire whose daughter was among the 259 people who lost their lives in the 1988 bombing of a PamAm flight over Lockerbie, Scotland (with an additional eleven who died on the ground due to the disintergrating plane). It will drop January 2nd in the UK and the US.
Like Mark Strong, Firth will set foot in the Sherlock Holmes universe. He has been cast in Guy Ritchie's upcoming YOUNG SHERLOCK series for Amazon Prime Video starring Heros Fiennes-Tiffins as the young detective, Fiennes-Tiffin's uncle Joseph Fiennes as his father Silas,
Tumblr media
Natascha McElhone as his mother Cordelia, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, Tsine Tseng (3 BODY PROBLEM) as Princess Gulun Shou'an, Dónal Finn (WHEEL OF TIME) as Moriarty and Firth as  Sir Bucephalus Hodge (no further character details have been announced).
And while not confirmed, there was a report that Colin Firth will be joining his ARTHUR NEWMAN and MARY POPPINS RETURNS costar Emily Blunt in Steven Spielberg's next film that is slated for a 2026 release.

New York Democratic congressman Jamaal Bowman is touting an endorsement from a left-wing group that denounced a resolution commemorating "End Jew Hatred Day" in New York City. That resolution was "dangerous" and "a farce," the group said.
In a Monday tweet, Bowman heaped praise on Indivisible Brooklyn, calling their work "crucial in ensuring that everyday people are actually represented in our democracy."
"I am honored to have their endorsement and continue working with them," Bowman said.
Roughly one year prior, in June 2023, Indivisible Brooklyn blasted a bipartisan New York City Council resolution that established an "End Jew Hatred Day" in an attempt to combat rising anti-Semitism in the city. "That 'End Jew Hatred' bill was a total farce and is dangerous," the group said, adding that one of the two Brooklyn Democrats who voted against the resolution "was right to oppose it." The resolution passed with 41 yes votes.
Bowman's praise for Indivisible Brooklyn comes as the lawmaker faces a difficult primary challenge from Westchester County executive George Latimer, a pro-Israel Democrat whom local rabbis encouraged to run, citing Bowman's hostility toward the Jewish state. In the wake of Hamas's Oct. 7 attack, the two-term congressman has accused Israel of "mass murder," "genocide," and "ethnic cleansing."
"Many of us tried to engage the congressman early in his term, seeking constructive dialogue about the damaging positions he took—especially on matters related to America's relationship with Israel," the rabbis wrote in an October letter. "Regrettably, Congressman Bowman disregarded our outreach and doubled down on his anti-Israel policy positions and messaging."
Neither Bowman nor Indivisible Brooklyn responded to requests for comment.
The "End Jew Hatred Day" resolution, which was sponsored by Republican councilwoman Inna Vernikov, came as New York led the nation in anti-Semitic incidents and experienced a record number of anti-Semitic assaults, according to data from the Anti-Defamation League. In 2022, 72 anti-Semitic assaults were reported in the state, the highest on record at the time. That number represented 65 percent of all anti-Semitic assaults reported in the United States.
Vernikov's resolution aimed to "acknowledge this reality and to express support for this historically victimized community," according to New York GOP chair Ed Cox. Still, in addition to the two Democrats who voted against it, four others voted to abstain. One of those four, Charles Barron, said he did so because the "Jewish community … supported apartheid in racist South Africa and said nothing about African people dying."
A bipartisan group of lawmakers denounced the New York City Democrats who refused to back the bill.
"Antisemitism has a long and ugly history. It has seen a resurgence in NYC with a record number of hate crimes," Rep. Ritchie Torres (D., N.Y.) said at the time. "How can anyone vote against a resolution to end antisemitism?"
Since Latimer's entry into the race in December, Bowman has done little to improve his relationship with his district's Jewish leaders.
During a January panel discussion titled, "Palestine Oct. 7th and After," Bowman glowingly introduced anti-Israel author Norman Finkelstein, who celebrated Hamas's massacre as a "heroic resistance" that "warm[ed] every fiber" of his soul.
"I'm also a bit starstruck, because I watch them all the time on YouTube," Bowman said of Finkelstein and two other anti-Israel panelists. "You have given me the knowledge on YouTube even before coming here."
One month later, Bowman teamed up with fellow anti-Israel House member Cori Bush (D., Mo.) to hold a joint fundraiser in Los Angeles. That fundraiser was hosted by a number of activists who defended Hamas's attack, including one who called it "a desperate act of self-defense," the Washington Free Beacon reported. Bowman also held a joint fundraiser with Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.), during which the lawmakers filmed themselves leading a "Free Palestine" chant.
In addition to Indivisible Brooklyn, Bowman in January touted an endorsement from Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, a left-wing nonprofit that blamed Israel for provoking Hamas's attack. The group has also argued against sending anti-Semitic hate criminals to jail, saying those criminals should be met with "restorative, community-based education and healing," not "a police-driven response with criminal penalties."

The Rise of Platonic Movies
Honestly, I am right now super happy to see more and more movies showing the value of platonic relationships and found family, rather than romantic relationships and traditional families.
I always was super annoyed with a lot of romantic relationships in movies, because often they seem to be based on anything, rather than "a hot male character and a hot female character breathed the same air, now they are in love" and often enough "the male main character deserves the girl, because he has saved the world". Which is just annoying, hetero- and amatonormative and also quite demeaning for the female characters. After all in many cases we get shown only the male perspective and why the guy is in love with her - but why she would even like him? Not answered.
So, yeah. As an aromantic queer person, I just love to see that we get away from this.
Recently especially enjoyed it in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, where the platonic relationship of Ed and Holga was so wonderful to see and valued as much as the former romantic relationship between Ed and Zia.
And now also in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, where, no, Peter does not get the girl and has to learn that Gamora is not the old Gamora and a different person and he has no right to her, but he has his friends and found family and that is just as valuable.
Also in a lot of Guy Ritchie's recent stuff also had that, with no central romance. Not even a "guy gets girl for saving the world".
Really, Hollywood, give me more of that!

hilda characters in taskmaster, if this means anything to anyone:
for context, taskmaster is a show hosted by greg davies and pathetic assistant (/creator) alex horne. each series five comedians are made to do pointless and difficult tasks and are awarded points. it ends up being very very funny and very amicably argumentative.
for now, i'll do my classic 5 faves, but i would love to do more like edmund + some ocs!
hilda - starting with the kids, likely winner. i mean she is the main character, but she has those problem-solving skills and unbeatable enthusiastic spirit (which would definitely take a beating in this godawful game). i considered how different the competition might be given that they're kids? but lenny rush recently competed at 14 and he did awesome. hilda would definitely stand up for herself if she thought her score or the task was unfair but she is a good sport all round. most likely to miss the huge hidden-in-plain-sight clues. here to have fun but not fuck around. all the cheerful demeanor of rob beckett. likes to very gently make fun of alex. would never ever give up.
"what you can't take away from me is that i had an absolutely lovely day."
"people say my ADHD means i have shit problem solving skills. no sir!"
frida - nerdiness to rival josh widdicombe. knows the taskmaster's tricks and snoops all around for clues/hidden solutions. genuine competence and competitiveness of someone like sarah kendall, as indignant and argumentative as ed gamble. the one time she doesn't find the hidden alternative answer is when the main pathway is just 'do a really long maths sum to get the code for the lock' and she just gets on with it because she can. tries not to act overly proud of herself but after a particular stressful win she definitely gets up and cheers. argues with other contestants. gets very annoyed by alex and sometimes tells him to shut up.
"the only way i get out of this with any dignity is if i die right now."
[to a small plush vole] "you've got no chutzpah! your organizational skills are lacklustre, and your timekeeping is abysmal."
david - the awkward swagger of james acaster but absolutely 0 of his winning spirit. definitely a fan-favourite pathetic contestant. the show would wear his psyche down so much he would snap and end up begging for points in a total breakdown à la joe wilkinson. gets genuinely cocky after a rare win. gets very stressed out by alex and is very scared of greg. like mae martin, is initially very nonchalant about the tasks, but can become freaked out quickly. not very good at getting points. ashamed of his failures and overjoyed with his successes. most likely to be given a humiliating solo task.
"please don't take it away from me."
"well well well! looks like last in P.E., first in being a legend!"
johanna - total sweetheart, smiling all the time even when she fucks up and loses, much like charlotte ritchie. although she does fuck up and lose considerably less. less nervous though, here to have fun AND fuck around. a sally phillips approach to tasks, meaning chill as fuck, inconspicuously normal contestant, that consistently produces either the most terribly planned OR the most creatively out of pocket and deranged 'solutions', of which back in the studio she has zero explanation for and can only laugh uncontrollably as if it wasn't entirely her idea. this will inevitably win her a lot of points but she will fall short on something like charlotte ritchie's first prize task, in which she brings in all of her bedding, is told 'you can't just pick up stuff from around your house,' and is given last place. this also makes her place her head in her hands and giggle. her attitude carries charlotte's consistent likeness to a children's tv show host. zaniness and well-spoken ramblings of mike wozniak.
"when you have no other ideas, you stick to your bad idea."
"i was excited, there was fire, i'd been told to undermine a vole and i let him have it."
kaisa - will not embarrass herself for love nor money. could not give a fuck about any of you people and simultaneously is incredibly determined to win. would get increasingly distraught with the incompetence of any teammates in an ed gamble outburst. despite this, is a cooperative and hardworking teammate. would spend long periods of time in silent thought before carrying out her plan with no explanation along the way. like james acaster, does not ever say hello to alex, just because she 'doesn't have to.' generally does not like alex. to quote jamali maddix, 'he's a punk. i don't like him.' acts like a rebellious teen in the presence of greg. i have no solid outfit headcanons right now but she would wear what bridget christie wore:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"i've got three sensitivity levels! and i'll be honest, i'm on my top fucking one right now!"
"i knew we were against the clock, and i didn't give a fuck"
and here is my final test of character - one of the most simple and most telling tasks, from the very first episode:
"eat as much of this watermelon as you can in one minute."
hilda - romesh ranganathan. upon entry of the lab, she wields the watermelon above her head and smashes it into the floor, devouring as much of it as she can. total tunnel vision. she throws up a little at the end. wins the task.
frida - josh widdicombe. enters prepared with a knife, manages to hurriedly cut and eat a portion of the watermelon, with not nearly as much vigor as hilda. is not giving up any dignity for this. 3rd place.
david - frank skinner. was not expecting a whole watermelon. manages to quickly get into the melon but falls short at his eating speed. is clearly trying not to choke. 4th place.
johanna - tim key. no utensils required. cracks it open right there on the table, eating as fast as possible, almost to the same wild and untamed degree as her daughter. is docked points because she sneaks a final bite of watermelon after the minute is up, just because she enjoys it. 2nd place.
kaisa - roisin conarty. was also not expecting a whole watermelon. total lack of urgency in comparison. leaves the room and spends 50 of her 60 seconds retrieving a knife, which she totally could have done beforehand, manages to crack open and eat a total of 9 grams of the watermelon before her time is immediately up. last place. couldnt give a fuck though
thanks for reading guys. if you have anything to add or ask then please do. peace and love
