AN: Just a cutesy ficlet I did with Striker and Amelda, me and @eyecandyeoz OC. We love our little duo. Also, she drew this lovely pic above.

Striker thinks how easy Amelda adjusted into his life, like some puzzle piece that slid into place

At first, he thought of her as a nuisance, just some baggage he picked up.

But she started to grow on him.

And he noticed she picked on some of his habits.

She started mimicking him in small ways, like the way he stood and twirling her pen like he twirled his knife.

He chuckles when he remembers how happy she was when she got a hat like his and the time he saw her putting paper spikes on her tail.

He also smiled at their little rituals.

Him training her to shoot and how she fell back from the force of the recoil.

How he makes sure she knows each part of the guns when they clean it together.

How he preens her feathers for her because she hoots irritability when she itches.

How ecstatic she was when she rode Bombproof for the first time and how he made her recite each part of the saddle to him.

Alot of people in his group thought he was too gruff with her and said he should be more gentle. He paid them no mind; they don't know she cries from her nightmares and he holds her. How she sometimes curls up next to him, holding her father watch in her small hands.

That was what she went back to that first day, something of her life from before.

He understood, he could never be her father, and he had no desire to fill that role.

So color him surprised one morning when they were making breakfast (or what counts for breakfast in this shit hole), as sleepy Amelda looked up at him and smiled.

“Mornin’ Papa.”

“Mornin’ baby girl.”

He didn’t even realize what he said until he noticed everyone staring at him. It finally hit him and he was about to correct her but decided not to.

He realized he didn't mind.

He smiles to himself, a warmth spreading across his chest.

He doesn't know how or when, but loving her was as easy as breathing.

As he spoke to her, his thumb rubbed against the inside of her wrist, transcribing a secret message like he sometimes did when they were in class. So, about my "Garak knows Julian is lying, he doesn't know about what" hc. Now a bit from Julian's pov.

He knows that Garak is onto him, so when they're together he creates a system, he will talk, he will debate and have stimulating conversations, but he doesn't leave openings for Garak to ask much. And if he does, he never outright doesn't answer, he does so, only noncommittal, he never outright lies elaboratly like Garak, he just evades. (one time Garak asks how was his childhood on earth and he only says "dreadfully uneventful")

He does the same with all his friends, but the problem with Garak is that he notices, he can talk a lot with Jadzia and never reveal anything, Miles is a closed off man that doesn't ask too many questions, but Garak? Garak pries, he is curious, and is much like Julian in that sense, he can't resist a mystery.

Now, let's think about how much it would hurt, to be falling in love with a person, to want to spend your time with them, but you just can't. Julian wants to talk, he wants to let Garak in, he wants to spend many hours with him, but he restricts himself to only his doctor or his lunch mate, nothing else, he can't risk it, it's too dangerous, and he never felt lonelier.

To love someone who will never know who you really are.

I think it would get so much worse after the changeling, like I said on a previous post, the changeling emulates Julian well and no one notices because no one knows Julian all too well.

I think everyone would feel so much guilt cuz, how could they not notice it? He's their friend, he knows everything there is to know about them, and they can't even notice when he's literally not himself??

But Julian is okay with it.

Not okay, per say, but he expected it, he knew it all along, that his friends wouldn't know it, he's resigned, it's his own doing and he is defeated by it, by this horrible thing that he made happen because of something his parents did to him, but he assures everyone that it's fine, there was no way for anyone to notice.

How could they know? He sure as hell didn't make it easy.

And he gets lonelier, if possible, because he is painfully aware of how insignificant his existence is, because no one knows him apart from his name and job, he can't rely on anyone, only on himself, and he is going crazy with it.

Julian spent his time on the camp convinced that no one was coming, because no one knows him enough to notice, and it's his own fault, and he feels so hollow, the solitary confinement brought it to the surface, how it felt silent and he was forced to confront his solitude for the first time.

He needs to let it out, but he can't, and Garak gets more persistent.

All his friends start to notice something is wrong, but he bounces back from the camp like nothing happened, smiling, acting the same. All this acting, he only starts to get noticed by others because he's getting tired.

Everyone just thinks it's just because of the camp, but he knows Garak sees him, so he distances himself a bit.

And when the secret is out, he wants to run, to hide, he is scared, terrified even, he knows people will look at him differently, he is mortified of being known for who he is, he doesn't know how to deal with any of this, he was never ready to be himself fully.

But, for the first time, he feels free.

feeling insane about the deep dream extra again. I like to make jokes about shen qingqiu seeing binghe hugging his corpse and deciding to fuck that man to qi deviation, but when I think about the emotions communicated in that moment it's so much more. shen qingqiu just got insight into a moment he wasn't around for, when binghe was grieving him so terribly, when binghe still didn't have answers for sqq's actions, when he kept reenacting a moment of nonsexual physical intimacy that left such a profound effect on his psyche

and shen qingqiu obviously can't change what happened in the past, but what he can do upon waking up is kiss binghe, press his hand to his beating heart, affirm (out loud!! a big deal for shen qingqiu!!!) that he wants him -- communicating with his actions that "I was gone then, but I'm here now, I'm alive, I won't be leaving, I love you and want you even when it hurts"

Though I can act unreasonable and don't behave well sometimes, if one day you feel like you no longer want to be with me, just tell me straight. Because if you disappear, I would be in so much pain.

some of my headcanon about our fav father-son duo

-lucifer buys satan rare books while satan buys him limited/ legendary cursed vinyl records

-lucifer is terrible at making sweets so sometimes they meet each other at the kitchen in the middle of the night so satan can teach his older brother some tricks in making desserts of course satan is no expert baker like barbatos or luke or simeon but he's decent (better than lucifer)

-lucifer loves to give satan encouragements and compliments stuff like i know you can do it, i don't have to worry about you not acing your test, sth similar to im really proud of you

-both of them are experts in taking care of sick people

-and when lucifer's sick satan is the one who taking care of him because mammon is just to panic to do anything

-they have this once in a blue moon hang out session where they just wander around devildom to buy books, visit coffee and tea shop, buy demonus,...man they never know how much they represent each other.

-maybe they started copying each other's habit at some point. like satan always brings cat treats with him so lucifer starts to bring treats for mc beel and luke. like at some point they both started to wear glasses while working. just father and son behaviour

-both are nerds do i need to say more?

-sometimes satan will jokingly calls lucifer father and he knows that will remind lucifer of Father lucifer will act annoyed but secretly enjoy that and he wishes satan would call him that sometimes

Headcanon that a few days a week at the very beginning he still slept in his car no matter how buried in snow it was, just because he wasn't used to sleeping in a bed in a house and part of him believed he didn't deserve that comfort
