I love the notion that the Second Son karmatic symbol that Delsin creates—that's on his jean vest, stuck to a button over his heart, and can be tagged all throughout Seattle as he fights for his tribe—
Is a symbol of his people.

In your new chapter of On the Shoulders of Titans you encouraged readers in the notes to ask you about the dragon hint that's been cut. Please tell me all you want to share about it 😍
Ha ha so... basically the whole "Del Bar's first king defeated a dragon living in Hinterpeak and the impact from its body formed the Serpenttongue valley" story is actually a canon in-setting legend, though I made up the other ones.
When discussing how the magma titan heart couldn't possibly have produced enough magic for the original spell, Kpp'Ar was going to suggest that it could maybe have been done with key reagents from "one of the higher orders of Earth dragon," with the implication being that the Del Barian legend was on some level true... except it was Duren that was figuratively impacted by the fallen dragon's body.
Ultimately, it was a little too convoluted to convey and also I didn't actually want to give Lissa an out on the whole "yeah this probably involved some kind of terrible human sacrifice blood price initially" thing.

**Return to me post, aka fanfic post scroll away if you haven’t read it or do not care to read it**
This entire fic/au keeps rotting my brain especially after the recent thing i published of it even if I have to prioritize a huge fic but it’s all because of fucking EAGLE.
Just the concept of Ryoma and the Getter merging but in a way that isn’t self destructive. That Ryoma escapes his fate by making peace with the reality that the Getter and him are destined to be one but that doesn’t have to lead to a bad future. That it doesn’t have to lead to violence. And Eagle is an incomplete Getter. It’s not entirely Getter One, it’s only the plane that makes up it and other components of its counterparts. The Getter can never form again because Eagle is in Ryoma which causes a paradox-enemies cannot return because not all the pieces of the Getter is in place, even if Ryoma is there-and yet even if Eagle wasn’t originally what it’s supposed to be it’s free. It’s free from the cycle like Ryoma. It can be its own person even if it has to rely on Ryoma accepting it and being okay with sharing his body. It may not be the ideal image of man and machine living alongside each other but it’s a greater outcome than most universes with the Getter overtaking Humanity. One that truly define fate.
*flips table* FUCK

the thing they don’t tell you about actively learning about how systems and institutions work, even casually, is that in any realismish fiction dealing with said systems you end up spending a not-insignificant amount of time going “no that’s not how it works” or “no you can’t do that” or “no that’s not a sick hack but actually a crime” or “no actually that would be obvious to pretty much any competent member of the profession” or my favorite “no I think your main character is just kind of bad at their job”
I understand suspension of disbelief and the very real need sometimes to balance realism and story, that’s not what this is not what this post is about. I’m not here to blame writers or producers for making the creative and practical decisions that are necessary to get any price of art to the finish line. far be it from me to try and claim expertise or worse go all cinemasins about it. this post is about the purely personal and very annoying problem I’ve inflicted upon myself by subscribing to too many lawyer and doctor and infrastructure youtube channels.
