How about a Lost Planet trilogy remake? An underrated game series released back the on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC (alongside with the spin off E.X. Troopers). Capcom should really consider doing a remake! Randomised Gaming talks about the gameplay and design of E.X. Troopers the Japanese only, Lost Planet series spin off. Is it worth importing and how does it compare with the rest of the Lost Planet series. E.X. Troopers is a story driven, third person shooter.

For this third episode Random Gamer Riven talks about his experience with the PlayStation 3 version of E.X. Troopers. Note we had planned to include the opening intro, but as is the case with most JPOP music, the content id blocked the video in a number of regions.

Not discussed in the video but the game runs at around 30fps in the 3D environments, menus run at 60fps. Performance does dip during some battles however to around the 20fps mark.

E.X. Troopers is available in Japan on the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS. The PlayStation 3 version shown here is Region Free and works on any PlayStation 3 unit. The Nintendo 3DS version is region locked and required a Japanese Nintendo 3DS to play.

they should bring back e.x. troopers, that was a fun game, preferably on the switch because it used to be on the 3ds as a jp only game and it would be very poggers of nintendies to release it on switch w en tl

im thinking of snagging the new fan translation for the 3ds eventually after playing the google translate one that served me well until the very end a few years ago

Chisato Mita / 実田 千聖 https://twitter.com/mitachisato She started her career at Capcom as a background designer and got her chance to design characters about 10 years later when it was decided that the art direction of the Lost Planet spinoff - E.X. Troopers - would be more anime-like. Shoji Kawamori's studio Satelight produced an anime trailer for the game, using Mita's designs. A few years after that, Satelight asked Mita to design characters for Macross Delta although she still was a Capcom employee. Nowadays, she still designs backgrounds but also creates illustrations and characters.

Playing some Lost Planet 2, it’s not bad. But I’m not really an online player, so I only got to experience a little bit. Got the Japanese copy of E.X. Troopers though, so hopefully that goes well.

3: Best game you’ve ever played?

This is a hard one but combining my personal preferences with good gameplay (sorry Xenoblade), then I would have to say Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lion's. To this day it holds up incredibly well for a game that was originally on the PS1. The job class system and amount of stat modifiers to think about are -chefs kiss-

Tales of The Abyss and Xenoblade Chronicles (1 not whatever 2 is supposed to be jghg) are also games that left a huge impression on me. Radiant Historia too but the remake ruined everything for me 😔

I'm sorry i tend to stick to jrpgs

13: A game you were the most excited for when it wasn’t released yet?

Sorry to bring up Radiant Historia again, but Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. I've learned my lesson and now I try to keep my excitement for new games/remakes to a minimum. I'll never forgive them for catering to people who say the word "waifu" unironically. Never! 🐢

30: A game that hasn’t been localized in your country that you think should be localized?

E.X. Troopers

It's a spinoff of the Lost Planet series that plays like a mix of Lost Planet and Monster Hunter. It was never localized because the cutscenes were done in a graphic novel style so the text was added through images, and editing that for an overseas release would be difficult and expensive. There's a Google translate patch that isn't comprehensible though.

And Soma Bringer is a DS jrpg that's very fun (by monolith soft). It wasn't localized for unknown reasons, but fans translated it.
