“Supergirl is so freaking attractive.”
“What????”
Kara stared at you, her face scrunched adorably in confusion as she tried to make sense of your words. Your eyes were glued to the television screen in the living room when they should have been focused on the task in front of you. You were chopping onions for tonight’s dinner when you accidentally brought the knife down on your finger. You winced, the sharp, cutting pain just enough for you to drop the knife and yank your hand back.
“Ouch,” you groaned as you saw the blood drip from the open wound.
You didn’t have the chance to grab a towel or wrap your finger. Like magic, Kara was beside you with a towel in hand, her blue eyes studying the cut with a seriousness you rarely saw.
“Are you okay?” she asked, and you laughed.
“Kara it’s a cut, not an amputation. I’m sure I’m going to live.”
Kara paused before looking up above the rim of her glasses. You watched as her cheeks turned a slight pink and she chuckled softly.
“Sorry,” she said, but her sure and strong fingers didn’t move away from your hand.
“I just wanted to make sure that you were alright.”
Your smile widened, your heart swelling with so much love you thought it would burst, and you pulled Kara in for a deep kiss, loving the way her lips molded against yours. Kara giggled against your lips and pulled away.
“I thought that you had the hots for Supergirl?” she asked, and you smirked.
“Oh, I do, don’t worry.”
The moment you said it, you saw jealousy flash across her eyes, and you laughed. Kara pouted, her arms folding across her chest adorably as she looked at you.
“What does she have that I don’t?”
You made a show of thinking hard, your hand rubbing your chin as you continued to play with your beautiful girlfriend in front of you.
“Well for starters, have you seen those biceps?” you asked, and Kara blushed. It wasn’t like Kara didn’t have biceps. She had muscles for days but something about seeing them in that suit made you want to thank the universe for all its hard work on creating that woman.
“And what about the endurance she must have?” you continued on. Kara spluttered, her face turning a deep red as she gathered what you were hinting at.
“And those hands,” you moaned, the tip of your tongue touching your teeth.
Kara nibbled her lip as she flexed her own hands. Jealousy and lust had never looked so good on one person, and you went to say more when Kara wrapped her hand around your throat. She gently eased you backwards until your back rested against the fridge. Her hands, warm and strong, pressed just enough for you to feel the pressure against the sides of your neck, and you gasped as your hands grabbed her and brought her body closer to yours.
“Are you saying I’m not good enough for you?” she whispered, the heat of her breath ghosting your lips as she talked.
You looked her in her eyes. The blues were dark with desire and something else. It was like she was challenging you in a way, and you being you, loved a challenge.
“You get the job done,” you said, and Kara smiled.
“Oh really? So, if I kissed you like this,” she began before she kissed you with such fervor that it took your breath away. Your heart was seconds away from stopping and you thought that maybe being like this, sandwiched between the love of your life and the fridge as she stole the very air from your lungs, wasn’t a horrible way to die. When she pulled back, she smirked, satisfied with the way you responded.
“Is it still getting the job done?”
Your mind was a blank as the gears that controlled thought processes grounded to a halt. Something else was demanding your attention, and first it started as a light thudding, but it grew and grew with every kiss and touch, and with the way your underwear was sticking to you, with the way it felt like your heartbeat was now in between your legs, it wasn’t too hard to figure out what.
“I mean, maybe,” you whispered, and Kara laughed, low and husky.
“You can always call Supergirl to handle that,” she said, her eyes dropping to your drenched core before they met your eyes again.
You didn’t know what to say. You loved this side of Kara. Beneath the glasses, and flustered and shy demeanor she had, she always knew how to push your buttons, literally and figuratively. There was a certain strength about her that was so intoxicating. The way her neck muscles flexed so appetizingly had your mouth going dry, and the way her arm rippled with strength as she pinned you there, had you weak in the knees. And right now, all you wanted was for her to top you in every filthy way possible.
The best thing about being with Kara was that every day was a new adventure. You’d been with her for years, and it still felt like the first day you met her. She was truly gorgeous and stunning, with a passion and intellect to match. You were lucky that she wanted you, even when you were being a dick. Like right now.
You wrapped a leg around Kara, shuddering slightly at the pressure her body placed on your center when you pulled her even closer. She chuckled before removing her hand from your neck, and using her strength, hoisted you up and held you there. You smiled salaciously and wrapped your legs around her.
“God yes,” you breathed before you pulled Kara in for another blazing kiss. Your lips moved against hers languidly and for every moan you made, Kara swallowed it. It wasn’t long before her tongue was in your mouth, tasting you sweetly. It also wasn’t long before Kara removed one of her hands from your thighs, and her soft touch made its way closer and closer to your intimate area. She removed her lips from yours and instead, leaned down to place kisses and love bites on your neck.
“You think Supergirl can do this?” she asked as she released heated breaths on your neck.
“Who now?”
Kara laughed, light and beautiful, as she continued to move her hand towards your core. Your body vibrated with anticipation. Your underwear was soaked now, and your clit begged to be touched. You needed her to caress you, and somehow you knew that Kara knew that. She licked her lips, her eyes locked with yours as her fingers gently pushed passed the elastic of your underwear. Your breath hitched the moment her fingers parted through wet folds and stroked your sensitive bundle of nerves. It was beautiful, feeling the pleasure ignite you from the inside out, and all you could do was sigh and let your head fall back against the fridge as she continued to rub you gently.
Kara shuddered at feeling your wetness. It was thick and hot, and coated her fingers readily. Your thighs spasmed when she applied more pressure, and you couldn’t stop the breathy moan that escaped your lips.
“Yeah?” she whispered against you and you nodded, your arms wrapping around her neck to bring her in for another kiss.
You never felt so loved, which was surprising because you knew that Kara loved you irrevocably, but the way she was touching you, the way her hands were so reverent on your body, had you wanting to the return the favor. A particularly hard swipe of her digits had you biting your tongue harshly and she smirked. She was about to venture further down, her intentions to finger you apparent, and right as her middle finger was about to fill you, her phone rang.
The little device was loud, the harshness of its rings effectively shattering the air of lust and serenity that developed around you, and you groaned heavily. Kara looked like she wanted to crush the electronic nuisance under her heel, and just as soon as she started pleasuring you, she slipped her fingers away, leaving you hot and turned on.
“Hello?” Kara clipped out when she answered it. You sighed as you fixed yourself, knowing that even if you took care of the pounding yourself, it would pale in comparison to Kara’s magic touch.
The call was brief and judging from the way Kara’s eyebrows furrowed in acute irritation, you could tell that whatever the call was, it was nothing good. She ended it and sighed tiredly.
You knew what that meant.
“Work?”
She nodded. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I understand. Besides it’ll give me a chance to go out and get peppers. I just remembered that we’re out.”
Kara smiled sadly put still pulled you in for a hug. “You’re the best.”
You watched as she grabbed her things and left, and it wasn’t too long before you got dressed as well and headed to the grocery store. Whatever Kara had to do, you were sure it was important. You weren’t going to stress over it. You were just going to get what you needed so you could have dinner ready for her when she got home.

Angelic Tapes
@foreverstrongandneverbackdown
Ramiel and Raziel watched the tape rewind and begin from the start, these were the memories of Azazel, of how he was when He was younger.
Ridwan had given them to Raziel after one of his rants.
“See these then tell me he’s as black and white as you think he is.”
The scene opened on a training dummy, they gasped as they saw the level he was on — 8.
There were 10 levels before angels were allowed to even start sparing with real blades, Azazel fell to the ground, he looked to be alone, he rolled out of the way of the oncoming automaton.
He quickly got to his feet and slashed as its neck and it dissolved.
Raziel gasped.
“It’s a real sword! He’s using a real one!”
“Yeah and he looks around my age, cool!”
Ramiel chimed in.
Azazel’s chest heaved.
“Again.”
He called the room reset and the automaton lunged toward him and jumped out of the way, cursing under his breath before he stabbed it in the back as it turned toward him.
“Again.”
“Why is repeating it again? He won.”
Raziel asked, Ramiel shrugged.
This pattern continued for a couple more times before Azazel was seemingly satisfied and he asked the training room to advance him.
His stance slid to an offense of one, he glanced at the clock and frowned.
“Where is the blasted th—”
He crumpled to the ground as something lunged from the shadows. Azazel coughed and shakily got to his feet as it flew off him and disappeared into the shadows of the training room.
“Okay so stealth and camouflage are this level’s lessons. Good to know.”
He closed his eyes and slid to vended knee, a hand going to the floor before he spun and slammed his sword up and into the automaton dissolving it into ash. His chest heaved and he was beaming.
“One more! One more and I did it! I’d be the youngest in history.”
He looked at the screen.
“Advance.”
“You do not have authorization.”
Azazel scowled and climbed onto the screen interface, it was blocked by a bars so it couldn’t be tampered with. He rolled his eyes.
“Like that’s going to stop me, nice try Goldie.”
“Goldie?”
They both said exchanging a look.
Azazel swung down grinning when he saw the control panel, he had a smirk like Gabriel’s and fidgeted with something before he heard a ding and jumped down.
The screen said:
Final Level: 10.
Azazel had a moment of satisfaction before he spun and clanged swords with a sword he gasped as he saw it looked like Samael.
“Illusions. Okay I can do that.”
He leaped back and circled the automaton.
“Focus on the details.”
He muttered to himself, noting the odd lifeless eyes and the lack of the smile. He was ready when it lunged again, the automaton seemed to switch to another angel.
“Michael.”
They said as Azazel swallowed and said.
“Goldie, looking a little too robotic aren’t we?”
He slashed at, that one quickly disappeared.
“It’s like once he finds the flaw it moves on.”
Ramiel noted as Raziel’s eyes widened and he nodded.
“That’s exactly what it’s doing.”
They cycled through some angels they didn’t know, ones names “Gadreel” and “Behemiel”
Before it landed on one that made them gasp.
If it momentarily thrown Azazel he didn’t show it, driving the blade through the automaton, he growled as he fell to his knees, breathing heavily.
“You’re not him, you’re not even worthy to be called his shadow.”
“Azazel! What are you doing?”
Azazel seemed to jerk out of his state as he saw a much younger looking Raphael striding over to him, unamused.
“I did it Raphael! I did it first, I’m the youngest angel in history to do it!! Aren’t you proud of me?”
“I’m always proud of you, now stay still.”
He was on his knees at his side taking his hands.
Azazel’s demure changed and he seemed to relax into a puddle around him, his eyes going downcast watching in awe as he worked.
“Wow, that’s beautiful?”
“Beautiful? I’ve never heard my healing be called beautiful before.”
Raphael said looking at him in warm amusement.
Azazel gazed at him meeting his eyes, his voice serious.
“It is. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve seen, the way the skin knits back together and the feeling of warmth running through your grace as it does so? It’s … /home/.”
They gazed at each other, the silence heavy around them, they seemed to lean into each other before there was Bang and Behemiel and Gadreel burst into the room.
“Azazel!! There you are! Where have you been??”
“Bee!!”
Azazel spun away and stood moving toward them lunged and catching their hands.
“You won’t believe it! But I won! I beat it! I made history!! Right Raphael?!”
They all turned to where Raphael had been a moment ago but he was gone.
Ramiel and Raziel shared a look, they could think of a couple reasons.
💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
A new scene started Behemiel and Azazel were walking toward a training area, and they seemed to be arguing.
“No, the answer is no Behemiel I’m sorry.”
“Why not?! You already love me! And I love you what’s the problem!!”
“You don’t have my heart! I’m not in love with you that’s the problem!!”
Azazel snapped and Behemiel gaze harder and he jerked his chin to the archangels talking amongst each other.
“It seems you are doomed to be alone then.”
Azazel followed his gaze and looked to see an angel talking with Raphael, on closer inspection he seemed to be flirting with him.
He growled and stalked to his place with the other angels, glaring in their direction as he saw Raphael blush and lightly laugh, his fingers going to hold the other angels hand intermittently.
“Who the Hell is that??”
Ramiel asked as Raziel too seemed to get angry, it was too jarring, almost false, this wasn’t who should make Babba blush.
“Now cadets this is Anafiel, he’s one of the best angels I’ve ever seen and I’ve asked him here to help with your training…”
Michael trailed off as Anafiel bowed to him and waved to the cadets.
Azazel snorted.
“I highly doubt it.”
The cadets around him murmured. Anafiel straightened his back and glanced at him.
“I assure you I am.”
“Really? Then you wouldn’t mind if I challenged you to a duel?”
Anafiel seemed to beam, his eyes alighting excitedly.
“Not at all, lets see what you got Hashmallim.”
He said with a smirk, a taunt of his low rank. A blade appeared in Azazel’s hands and he stepped and slid down the arena below.
“So you’re the famous Azazel who can't seem to take a hint.”
Anafiel murmured as they circled each other.
“He’s mine.”
Azazel growled and shook his head for lunging for him, Asafiel easily pushed him away.
They parlayed getting more and more aggressive. They gasped as Azazel moved gracefully across the ground, almost like he was /dancing/.
At one point Azazel skidded across the grass, he gasped and spat out blood.
Asafiel glanced up to the archangel box, Raphael’s face was unreadable.
“Hey Raphael after this want to go to a tour around the stars? I hear Father has made a Galaxy of just pink stars, it’s said to be very /romantic/.”
The cadets and angels around him gasped, they hadn’t heard of an subordinate angel be this bold with an archangel, ever.
Raphael blushed darker and ducked his head.
Azazel let out a low growl, his eyes blazed and he lunged pulling Asafiel to the ground.
“HE IS //MINE//!!!”
Azazel screamed his blade raised and before anyone could stop him it was plunged into Asafiel’s wing.
Asafiel gasped before screaming out in pain. Azazel’s triumphant was short lived as Michael called his name in barley restrained fury and hauled him off of him.
“We do not mortally wound!! Don’t you ever listen?? Zadikel get him to the infirmary, Phanuel keep the cadets here, Samael and I will…..”
Azazel tuned them out and looked furiously around him. He gasped along with his children in real time as he saw Raphael walking away from the scene.
“Raphael!! Raphael wait!!! RAPHAEL!!!!!”
#dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuun#idk where you can go from there?#maybe continue with Raphael's thoughts and actions in the tapes or in irl?#since Ridwan probably didn't tell him what he was doing 😉😏#foreverstongandneverbackingdown#can we keep Anafiel?#like Raphael actually was flirting with him??#obviously because he didn't think Azazel was interested or whatever

⚡️ What exactly happened on that day? Was it something Sir Yorgh did?
Honesty strikes with a ⚡️
The knightess would tense up; the day was a tragedy she wished she had not even been there to witness let alone partook in. A heavy sigh left her lungs as she would speak, voice but a whisper. “That day......we were told we had been heading to attack an enemy camp. I thought it just be a quick in out job aswell as Harkyn but...”
Eydis almost threw up at the thought of this, the remembrance of smoke, fire and worst of all. The screaming. “W-we had been lied to by our own commander......it wasn’t an enemy camp......it was a village of dragons who had done nothing wrong...nothing. Only me and Harkyn stayed our blades but him and those.......vile bastards.” She couldn’t hold back the tears. The fact the man she respected and admired for his honesty and respect amongst troops stooped so low was.....sickening.
“Everywhere I looked you could see innocent people dying for no reason.....I even remember one child.....begging for her life in front of the man I respected.........only to be slaughtered like cattle.......whats worse is they got away with it aswell........because in the eyes of the law at the time......it was just.........No man should be able to be judge, jury and executioner like that, even with the law at their back.....when someone is crying......pleading on their knee’s to live..........they get killed. T-those wh-who do such acts..are nothing more than deluded tyrants....Harkyn deserted on that same day.....I left the next........I can’t.........children, mothers waiting to birth children fathers, the elderly all slaughtered......for no reason....”

The Lost Harpischord: Entry 07
Always trust your gut, is what I’ve said. The feeling that I was being watched was certainly not as much superstition as I had thought. To my surprise, a moogle calling itself “Monty” resides within this room. Gosh, what a mouth on that thing. I think it spent bells squeaking and yelling at me, saying I’ve no business being here. I told him that I stumbled upon this place by mere accident, but as my explanation went on, he seemed more intrigued than angry. The moogle doesn’t believe in chance and luck, it holds a firm paw to destiny and fate. Apparently, Monty has spent decades in these parts, waiting for a certain elezen to return. It refused to tell me the name of the elezen in question, no matter how much I pressed him for it.
Monty is rather. . . Vague. Vague at best. Each answer to my questions just brings more questions, and it’s honestly starting to give me a headache. After a lot of talking back and forth, I told him I’d leave, since it apparently is Monty’s place.
. . . The door was locked.

No but I love this so much. I've never been super invested in Emorie just because I haven't interacted much with those fics and stuff, but I absolutely love the energy of this fic and the romantic potential it has.
Summer ACOTAR writing circle hosted by @azrielshadowssing - pairing Emorie
Cool for the Summer Part 1 - 1808 words
Part 2 | Part 3
Read below or on AO3
Wind whipped through the open windows of Emerie’s truck as she navigated through the quiet streets. Gwyn sat in the backseat, sipping an iced coffee and belting out the lyrics to the song on the radio while Nesta grumbled from where she slumped in the passenger seat.
“You have far too much energy for this early in the morning. It’s unnatural.”
Emerie snorted as Gwyn ignored their grumpy friend entirely, grinning like a fool. She looked downright adorable in her white lifeguard tank and matching visor, her copper hair pulled into a perky high pony, mirrored aviators perched on her nose despite the low light of the early morning. She was practically bouncing in her seat as she sang. Gwyn had always been a morning person, the exact opposite of Nesta’s night owl tendencies. Emerie, who was neutral on the subject, had never been quite sure if her friend’s high energy levels in the morning were natural, or due to the copious amounts of caffeine she often drank.
Rolling her head to the side, Nesta glared at Emerie over the top of her cateye sunglasses. “I hate you for dragging me out of bed this early to deal with her.”
“You didn’t have to come,” Emerie chuckled. “You were the one who insisted we should all work here together this summer.”
Nesta returned her glare to the window, a few wisps of hair that had escaped the braid wrapping around her head, dancing in the wind. “Yeah, well, that was before I realized it required predawn hours.”
“They told us what the hours would be during the interview. You still agreed.” Silently, Emerie agreed that she hadn’t quite anticipated the ungodly hours either when she’d submitted to the job in a desperate attempt to avoid her family as much as possible over the summer. Luckily, they wouldn’t always have the opening shift.
Nesta made a dismissive noise and continued to sulk as they finally approached the country club’s parking lot and drove to the small section at the back they’d been instructed to park in for their shifts. Piling out of the car, Gwyn still humming under her breath, they entered the pool’s admin building, dropping their things off in the employee lockers and helped each other slather on sunscreen before they began the various tasks required to open the pool for the day.
Gwyn opened the storage area and began bringing out the various flotation devices available for the pool’s patrons, Nesta disappeared to fetch towels from laundry while Emerie began setting up lounge chairs and umbrellas. Within an hour, the pool deck was set and ready, the bathrooms and various amenities rooms were checked and the doors unlocked. A family consisting of three very energetic children and their tired mother were already waiting outside as soon as the pool opened and Emerie kept an eye on them from her elevated chair as the mother attempted to wrangle them all into floaties before they jumped into the water.
The morning was relatively slow as guests began to slowly trickle in. Someone had brought their own speakers and was playing reggaeton at a low enough volume that no one bothered them about it. The music was a welcome addition to the background noise of screaming children and splashing. She could see Gwyn dancing in her perch across from Emerie and even Nesta was nodding along to the beat.
Nothing particularly exciting happened for the first few hours, and Emerie was just beginning to wonder if the easy paycheck was really worth how terribly bored she was when a group of unfairly good looking people trooped in through the gates and headed over to the row of cabanas that had been pre-reserved for the day.
Emerie watched them with interest as they set out the coolers of drinks and snacks they’d brought with them. The cabanas and the amenities rooms were the only areas where food and drinks, other than water, were allowed, and the curly haired girl in the frilly pink bathing suit was directing the men with her on where to lay everything out while the women rolled out towels and blankets and rearranged chairs to their satisfaction. There were seven of them in total, but only four appeared to be coupled off. The curly haired woman with the man with ridiculously luscious looking red hair, and a woman who looked a lot like Nesta with one of the dark haired men who wore a smirk like it was painted on his face.
Actually, now that she was looking…
Emerie: Nes, are those your sisters?
Nesta: *eye rolling emoji* yes. Ignore them
Gwyn: Why would we ignore them? You should introduce us. I can’t believe we’ve never met them before!
Nesta: No
“Nes!”
Emerie looked up from her phone as the largest man in the group with his long hair pulled up into a bun approached Nesta with a wide grin under his glasses. She felt a brow lift as she took in his well formed physique, tattoos covering his shoulders. He stopped below Nesta’s chair, his head almost eye level with her boobs. Emerie couldn’t hear what he said to her, but she could see the way her friend pointedly ignored the man.
Emerie: Um… who’s the hottie?
She watched as Nesta snatched up her phone from where it had been sitting on the chair’s arm- right under his nose. She knew he’d seen the text when his grin widened and he turned to glance around the pool, nodding his head at Emerie and Gwyn when he caught sight of them, phone in hand.
Gwyn: *crying laughing emoji*
Emerie snickered to herself as she watched one of the last of the dark haired men from the cabana group make his way over to his friend, shaking his head in an exasperated sort of way. His steps paused as he scanned the pool deck and spotted Gwyn.
Emerie: Oop! Looks like you caught one too, Gwyn. *evil grinning emoji*
Gwyn: *blushing emoji*
Nesta: stop it. Both of you.
Emerie: You never answered the question Nes. Who’s the hottie?
The man in question was still attempting to flirt with Nesta, who had not even glanced in his direction, until his friend slapped a tattooed hand on his shoulder and steered him away.
Nesta: no one
Gwyn: HA!
Emerie: Oh, please. Don’t lie to us, Nes. It’s insulting.
*offended gif*
Gwyn: *pounting GIF*
Nesta: *eye roll emoji*
Smirking, Emerie looked over at her friend, her attention snagging briefly on a flash of bright red before doing a double take as another person joined the party in the cabanas. Emerie froze as her attention zeroed in entirely on the most gorgeous woman she’d ever seen. Strutting in red cork wedges with a matching bikini, under a sheer black sarong, a giant straw hat shaded her face but it was easy enough to make out her red, heart shaped sunglasses and equally red lips. Long blonde hair streamed behind her in perfect waves, and gold jewelry glinted at her throat and wrists. The woman looked like she’d stepped out of a magazine… or Emerie’s fantasies.
Her phone vibrated in her hand, jarring her back to the conversation with her friends.
Nesta: close your mouth, Em. Your jaw is practically on the floor
Gwyn: *drooling emoji*
*GIF of cartoon character jaw drop*
Emerie’s cheeks heated as she glanced once more at the woman who was greeting the women who had to be Nesta’s sisters with a wide smile.
Emerie: shut up
Gwyn: *laughing emoji*
Nesta: *smirking emoji* That’s Mor
I can introduce you…
Gwyn: What?! You’ll introduce a potential love interest for Emerie, but won’t introduce your sisters?? Injustice!
Emerie: I agree with the ginger
Gwyn shot her a playful scowl from across the pool, which Emerie returned with a wink before remembering she was wearing sunglasses and just grinned.
A loud whoop was followed by a massive splash that sent water shooting up high enough to drench Nesta, who sputtered indignantly, and caused waves to spread across the pool. Gwyn’s shrill whistle cut through the air as she stood and pointed at the grinning idiot that had been flirting with Nesta earlier, and had just resurfaced.
“No splashing!” she scolded. He ignored her, grinning up at a seething Nesta who now resembled a drowned rat. His friend shot Gwyn an apologetic look.
Emerie cursed under her breath and contemplated how to keep Nesta from doing something that might get her arrested but her sisters were already rushing over to diffuse the situation. Sitting back in her seat, she couldn’t stop her eyes from straying back over towards the cabanas, only to find the gorgeous blond staring right at her.
Heat flooded Emerie as she flushed under the attention. She reached up to play with the end of her braid, a nervous habit, as she held the woman’s gaze. It helped that they were both wearing glasses and were too far away to properly read each other’s expressions, which hopefully meant she couldn’t see just how red Emerie’s face was.
The woman- Mor, reached a hand up to tip her sunglasses down, peering over them at Emerie in a way that made it obvious she was looking at her. Emerie flushed further as her red lips tipped up in a smirk. She then turned in an elegant move, untying the sarong around her waist so Emerie got a good look at her sculpted body as it fell away. Perching on the edge of a lounger, she slipped off her heels, reaching into the white and gold tote she’d brought in with her and pulled out a bottle of sunscreen. Turning to stretch out in the chair, Emerie watched, mesmerized as she began massaging the lotion into her long, tanned legs…
Once again, her phone pulled her back to the present. The grinning idiot was now riding a ridiculous unicorn floaty next to his friend who sat at the edge of the pool eyeing Gwyn, while Nesta glared at them both. Gwyn, for her part, was staring Emerie down, her red eyebrows dancing over the edge of her glasses when she finally caught her attention, a bright grin on her face as she looked back and forth between Emerie and Mor who was smirking at her once again.
Cursing to herself again, Emerie glanced down at the group chat that was full of suggestive GIFs and teasing innuendos from her friends at her expense. Nesta had again offered to introduce her and Emerie stared at her phone for a moment, biting her lip as she considered. When she looked up again, however, it seemed the decision had been made for her.
Mor, apparently finished applying her sunscreen, had risen from her seat and was now sauntering across the pool deck, directly towards Emerie.
#also lets discuss the crumbs you're leaving for some other ships in this au#what's that about hmm?#acotarwritingcircle#Emorie#mor x emerie#emerie x mor

I Know What I Am Not
@foreverstrongandneverbackdown Raziel stood and looked between his father and the other archangels. Michael and Zadikel though he'd stepped down a while ago. "I know what choir I want to be in." Raphael nodded. "Alright, what?" He was slightly nervous, he didn't know what Raziel was thinking. "I want to be part of Michael's choir." He lifted his chin up and gazed at them calmly. "I want to be a Power."

Dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuun
8: A late night walk
The Great Assembly, gender neutral reader x monster (male naga). Sfw. Previous Next
You eat an early dinner (actually managing to convince Amren to COOK his food before eating it) and pull on your now only slightly damp clothes.
You grimace. Hopefully, they’ll dry a bit more as your body heat does its thing.
The sun hadn’t completely set yet when you went out, though it’s not long before you have to pull out your flashlight to know where to place your feet without slipping. The night air is cold, and you mentally berate yourself to allow Amren once again bringing you along for his wacky ideas.
It’s like with Irwin, you realize, constantly being pulled in several directions at once for the next shenanigan - the only difference this time being it's not funny at all and includes slightly more potential for bodily harm.
The sounds of the night isn’t helping your confidence, and you look up and around at every crack and noise.
“You’re like a deer in headlights,” Amren comments, slightly amused.
You glare at him. “What the hell did you expect? I can’t believe I let you drag me out here.”
“You’re walking on your own. As far as I’m concerned, you came at your own volition.”
You ignore him, and turn your light to the source of some brush rustling nearby.
Amren sighs exasperated. “It’s a deer.”
“And how would I know that?” you grunt. “I don’t have a magic detect-animals tongue to flicker around. What I have currently is a flashlight. You bet your ass I’m going to investigate every single thing out here. If it’s annoying, it’s your own fault.”
You can’t tell in the dark, but you can almost hear how he is once again irritably rolling his eyes.
“Squirrel,” he says, when something in the branches above move. “Mice in the brush in front of us. Bird on your right. The deer from earlier is running away.”
You look up at him as he’s looking around and tasting the air as he lists off anything he happens to note.
“Molerat. More birds in the shrubbery.”
“What are you doing?” you ask, even though you do have a feeling you know.
“Have a glimpse of my world,” he says. “Did you honestly think we’d be out and about right now if I wasn’t sure the boarbeast had left for good?”
You look at him for a bit. “You’re not just messing with me? You can actually tell all of those animals are around?”
“Figure it out,” he grumbles.
There’s not much to figure out. If he’s actually trying to do something sort of nice in reassuring you, you shouldn’t bark at him about it.
“Is that just a naga thing, or did you have to practice?” you ask.
“Terrible student,” he sighs. “And you still haven’t answered my question from earlier.”
“I’ll answer yours to the best of my ability if you answer this one.”
“You first.”
“No.”
He gives you a stubborn sideways glare. “Fine. It’s both. We’re just good at recognizing all sorts of scents. Though I had to train to learn to follow a specific one to a location – but it’s useful for hunting.”
“Wait, hunting? So that’s why you know these mountains?”
He nods. “Been here a lot.”
“Huh. You weren’t kidding when you said ‘carnivore’.”
He snorts. “In case it wasn’t obvious. I can eat bread and stuff. I just don’t like it.”
“You don’t like bread?” you gape, incredulous. The nerve. The actual mockery. How can someone not like bread?
“You don’t like raw meat?” he copies you.
“If I ate it I’d get. So sick.”
“And there you have it. Now. Your turn.”
He looks at you expectantly. You sigh. Explaining the whole ordeal of body issues is somewhat of a difficult topic to tackle. You try your best to cover the basis of bodily dysphoria and the many ways it can present itself.
Amren listens intently to your description, a somewhat concerned expression on his face. When you finish, he says: “That explains your modesty-thing."
"Oh, no that's different - for most of us it's like- it's rude? And uncomfortable to show yourself like that. Unless everyone who can see you, and you yourself, is okay with it."
He looks utterly baffled. "I don't understand."
"It's kinda hard to explain," you finish.
He doesn't press the issue.
“What do you hunt?” you ask after a beat, mainly to change the uncomfortable subject.
“Whatever is around,” he replies. “Though I prefer deer, they’re easier to wrangle and one alone will last me about two weeks.”
“’Wrangle’?” you inquire.
His taps the side of your foot with the tip of his tail.
Ah.
You guess it’s pretty regular in the mon world to take down something like deer with your bare whatever-nature-gave-you. A mental image of Amren crushing the life out of a defenseless deer with his tail intrudes your mind, and you quickly file it somewhere under lock and key in your short term memory. You walk through the night, your clothes thankfully dry enough now to actually help keep you warm.
The quiet walk in the night gives you space to think back on Irwin and Elise, and wonder how they’re doing with all this - and more importantly if they actually had a run-in with the northern pack of boarbeasts. You’ve only seen one, and that was more than enough.
Why on earth would you be sent out into dangerous territory on a working conference? And why send you out two-and-two? Wouldn’t groups of four or more be more beneficial, if the whole point was to create some sort of cheesy bonding experience? Clovers are rare, sure, but then choose a different price – people would probably still be happy competing for a hotel stay or something.
If you had Irwin and Elise with you here, or maybe even Mira as well, this whole trip would have been so different. You’d be four on one, and actually have gone north, and you wouldn’t be out here feeling somewhat useless, stumbling around in the dark.
On the other hand, you probably wouldn’t have gotten to know Amren at least a little bit better. He’s still a living brick wall to get through, though you sense there are cracks in the cement forming. At least very small ones, since he’s somewhat actively engaging with you now.
You glance at him and wonder what spurred you to even start the process of socializing with him. Any sane person would probably have taken his hostile behavior for what it was, and not made any effort whatsoever. He sure tried to make it very clear he wanted to be left by himself. To be honest, if Irwin hadn’t pulled Amren’s name from the hat, and you weren’t forced to be out here alone with him, you’d probably have listened to him.
But here you are, and at least he’s shown he doesn't want you dead. Progress!
“What are you thinking?” Amren suddenly asks, taking you out of your thoughts.
You frown. “I’m wondering how things would have been different if Irwin hadn’t pulled your name from the hat,” you reply. Might as well be honest. “And then I’m worried about him, Elise and Mira.”
Amren thinks for a minute, tasting the air.
“Do you wish your partner had pulled someone else?” he asks.
You grin. “We didn’t exactly get off on the right foot, so in the start I was kinda grumpy about it. I’ve accepted my fate by now, though.”
Amren snorts, but stays silent to let you continue.
“And don’t get me wrong. You’re still a major pain in the ass. But I guess you are practical with all this survival stuff. If I’d been here with Irwin, we’d probably both be dead by now.”
“Your partner doesn’t seem like the most responsible type,” Amren agrees. “I’m still surprised you went out of your way for him like that.”
“Come on, this again? Really, you’re starting to sound like my manager. I would ask if you wish he’d pulled someone else so you could get a cohort who’s actually useful,” you say, looking at him.
He looks somewhat puzzled.
“- but since you hate everyone, I guess it doesn’t really matter.”
“I don’t ‘hate’ everyone, and who told you it didn’t matter?” He smirks. “If I’d gone with Elise instead of you, everything would have gone much easier.”
You scoff and lightly punch his shoulder. “Asshole.”
“Slowpoke.”
“Bastard.”
“Tiny.”
“Oversized serpent.”
He nods at you. “Correct."
“Well, if I’m so tiny, it’s a good thing Mira was around to help me up after you snapped at me when we first met.”
He ignores your attempt at guilt-tripping. “You keep mentioning ‘Mira’, but I don’t recognize her name. What department is she from?”
“Does it matter?”
“I work security. Elise and I know who’s attending the conference,” he shrugs. “It bothers me I don’t remember seeing her name on the list.”
“She’s with the cleaning staff,” you offer his memory.
Amren frowns. “Cleaning? The cleaning staff isn’t attending this conference. They get their own trip later in the year in the holiday season.”
Now it’s your turn to frown. Mira definitely said ‘cleaning staff’, didn’t she? Maybe you misunderstood? “She came here alone. Said she was the only one they could spare.”
Amren flicks his tongue. “Maybe she was on a separate list then. Odd they’d send her alone, though.”
“Or,” you offer nonchalantly, “could it be possible you forgot her name?”
He looks at you grumpily, and doesn’t reply.
You continue through the dark forest and, according to Amren, you manage to make up for some lost time. The forest has been mostly quiet, save for a few noises from the nocturnal part of the animal kingdom and the wind howling through the trees. The moon shines down between the branches, and though it’s dark, the starry night is beautiful.
You’re however exhausted and cold at this point, and you catch Amren every so often also suppressing a yawn. One time he fails, and you get a full view of his long row of small, but needle sharp, teeth.
“You don’t have fangs,” you note.
Amren stares at you puzzled, mid-yawn, as very clearly he does. “What?”
“I mean like. The two long ones in front,” you elaborate.
You can’t tell if you’ve offended him somehow from his expression, and you’re about to mumble an apology when he beats you to it.
“I don’t have venom,” he explains. “Don’t need them. You’re thinking of another type of naga. I’m a constrictor, not a viper.”
“Huh,” you say, and grin to yourself. “I’m still confused about something, though.”
“What?”
“How did you get the venomous attitude, then?”
You laugh at you own joke as Amren looks very unimpressed.
“You’re horrendous,” he exhales, rubbing his face.
“I’m tired,” you correct him. “Which is your fault.”
“Being tired is nowhere near an excuse for your behavior,” he grunts.
“Sure it is. A tired human is a messy human,” you state as-a-matter-of-factly. “But seriously, we should probably camp soon and get some sleep. It’s like 2am, and you honestly don’t look so fly either.”
You shine your light in his face for a better look, though he actually hisses at the light and covers his eyes.
“Ow, Tiny, not directly in the face!” he snarls, harshly pushing your flashlight down.
“Oh hush you big baby,” you pull the flashlight out of his hands and wave him off, but keep the light pointed to the floor.
You look around.
“There’s a clearing over there. Should we make camp?”
A little while later you’ve both set up your tents and crept in to settle for the night. Despite your eyes being so heavy, you find it difficult falling asleep. Today’s events has grown nervous strings through your core, gripping tight. The looming anxiety of you actually being in danger won’t leave your gut. You try and logic your way out of it, because nothing really happened and you are by all accounts, safe, but it doesn't seem to work.
You hear Amren moving around in his tent again, and berate yourself for the sense of security the sound gives you. It’s not that you exactly feel completely safe just because he’s in your proximity, but it somehow feels.. safer.
Though you’d never tell him that. You don't think you'd be able to reach his face in time to punch off the smug expression he would make.
The wind is howling outside your tent. You stare out in the darkness, just listening for a bit, and waiting for sleep to take you. You’re about to drift off when Amren suddenly hits against the plastic wall of his tent and it makes a sharp squealing noise, immediately startling you back to full awareness.
You groan in annoyance.
“I was this close to falling asleep,” you complain at him.
If he heard you, he ignores you.
You sigh. You momentarily wonder if there’s any connection out here. Since you're up now anyway, might as well check. You pull up your phone, turning it on, wincing as the sharp light from the screen hits your eyes as it’s booting up.
You wait for a few seconds for everything to start, and smile slightly when you spot you actually have bars in this location. Then, your phone starts chiming rapidly.
You swear and cover the speaker as much as you can as it blares multiple times with text messages and notification sounds.
“You were saying?” Amren hisses from his tent.
“You woke me first,” you hiss back.
Your phone finally calms down, and you dare peek at what caused the calamity.
Your stomach drops.
You have 13 unread messages and 6 missed calls.
They’re all from Irwin.
