Crocodile really is The Character of all time.
He's first introduced as a terrifying villain in the shadows who's killing an entire country of thirst and orchestrating a civil war while posing as their hero. He runs a vast criminal organization while having immunity from the government. He's viciously cunning and dreadfully powerful. The first time Luffy fights him, he never even touches him and very nearly gets killed. It takes him THREE times to finally beat him, and hardly. Just by the events in the Arabasta saga, Crocodile would've gone down as an amazing character and villain.
But then.
But then, like eight arcs after Arabasta, Luffy breaks into Impel Down, where Crocodile happens to be imprisoned. And he just. First he says HISASHIBURI DANA MUGIWARA in an incredibly deep and sexy voice that has me giggling and twirling my hair. Then he gets blackmailed by IVANKOV who knows A PERSONAL SECRET OF HIS and we're all looking at him like
Tumblr media
AND THEN Crocodile joins Luffy to break out of prison and go to war, but not before taking a detour through Newkama Land because god forbid Crocodile showed up at Marineford wearing dirty prisoner rags. On their way out they meet Blackbeard, who starts rambling about his evil plan and Crocodile is like "who" and Blackbeard says "me" and Crocodile replies "no, who asked you" and moves on because he really couldn't care less about that mf.
And then. And then.
They arrive at Marineford. And Crocodile PEAKS at Marineford.
He shows up in this huge battlefield and he hates EVERY SINGLE PERSON on it. Fuck you, Whitebeard. Fuck you, Doflamingo. Fuck you, Sengoku. Fuck you, Mihawk. Fuck you, Akainu. He's completely unhinged. An agent of chaos. And if he ends up picking a side, he does it because FUCK COPS THAT'S WHY and isn't that the noblest of reasons.
And then he comes back over a decade of publication later to create a bdsm gay polycule with a sex dungeon along with a misanthropic swordsman and a clown.
Not to mention he's also Luffy's mother

DL14: Dragons of Triumph (1986) marks the end of the the Dragonlance saga and the War of the Lance. It’s full to brimming — three booklets and a map. Some aspects seem rushed. Diana Magnuson’s art in general seems very sketchy here and the recycling of some illustrations from the 1983 Basic Set seems…odd for what should be a big budget, marquee release, the capstone on three years of campaign releases!
It’s interesting too that for all the series’ experiments in narrative and unconventional modes of play, the climax of the story proceeds along pretty typical D&D lines: a big ol’ hexcrawl, some city exploration followed by the final set piece in Takhisis’ temple, a mid-sized dungeon, where players enact the solution they uncovered in D13. There’s plenty of events, too, but the finish is refreshingly uncomplicated, I think? Also, I get WHY the adventures diverge from the novels, but I still miss the big character notes for Sturm, Flint and Raistlin. I don’t know how you keep those in without making a big mess, but I do wish it was a riddle that these folks figured out.
There’s a pile of extra stuff in the form of a sourcebook, a sort of sequel to DL5, which details the world of Krynn in a way that almost but not quite supports further play. That’d have to wait a few more years. There’s also a collection of all the monsters, which, they all appeared elsewhere, but I like it when monsters hang out together.
Also, old saw, but as much as I like this Caldwell cover, I also think it sucks in the way it diminishes the strength of Laurana’s character. Compare to Elmore’s depiction on Winter Night or Parkinson’s fantastic portrait of her standing over Sturm’s corpse. It bums me out on a certain level that she’s chained and pantsless in typical Caldwell fashion on the cover of the finale. Takhisis looks great tho.

Here is an overview of the demo and game, via its store pages:
About the Demo
In the demo, players can enjoy the opening part of the story, where Emperor Leon and his retinue take on Kzinssie of the Seven Heroes. Progress from the demo can be carried over to the full game.
About the Game
The fifth entry in the SaGa franchise returns as Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven a full 3D remake of the original 1993 RPG. Embark on an exciting adventure fit for both new players and long-time fans, highlighting classic and new SaGa franchise features, full Japanese and English voiceovers, rearranged compositions, and much more!
Story
In an age past, warriors known as the Seven Heroes fought to save humankind. Praise slowly turned to curses as their fellow Ancients came to fear their power and banished them to another dimension. Their good deeds lived on as legends passed down through the ages, foretelling that the Heroes would return when the world needed them most… True to the legend, the Heroes have reappeared…but their long exile has corrupted their forms and they now seek vengeance on all who wronged them. Take on the role of the Emperor of Avalon as legions of fiends spread across territories under the Heroes’ command. Defend your Empire across successive generations, expand your realm, and defeat the vengeful Seven Heroes one by one to save the world!
Key Features
Characters and Imperial Succession – Join forces with characters from over 30 different classes featuring a wide variety of professions and races, each with their own favored weapons, unique abilities, and effective tactics. Choose the next Emperor from this wide pool of candidates, each eligible to inherit the throne and become the next protagonist. The knowledge and abilities of previous rulers are passed down to the next through the mystical art of inheritance magic, forging a lasting bond between you and your chosen characters.
Free-Form Scenario – The game presents a unique story structure that offers a vast array of narrative experiences in response to your choices and which objectives you tackle first—from how you expand the Empire to what order you challenge the Seven Heroes. Your actions and decisions will dramatically alter the course of the Emperor’s journey.
Combat – The strategic turn-based battle system of the original has been further enhanced to a timeline system. Enjoy all the classic SaGa mechanics like “Glimmers,” where you learn new abilities whilst in the heat of battle, and “Formations,” which provide unique benefits to the retinue based on composition. Furthermore, the remake welcomes the new “United Attack” feature to perform combination attacks with your retinue members to turn the tide of battle!
Graphics – The original 2D pixel sprites are now modeled in full 3D while retaining their charming, familiar appearances based on the beautiful concept illustrations by Tomomi Kobayashi. All towns and dungeons are now also fully rendered with reworked terrains and layouts.
Difficulty Settings – Select from one of three difficulty levels to match your preferred playstyle, from Casual, Normal, to Hard (Classic). Casual offers a story-focused experience with less emphasis on battle, while Normal is recommended for veteran RPG players looking for a balanced game. Hard (Classic) is perfect for players looking for the brutal but satisfying challenge of the original 1993 version.
Music and Voices – Kenji Ito returns to present a beautiful soundtrack full of new arrangements! The music can be toggled between the original and new versions from the Options screen. Furthermore, all event scenes now feature full Japanese and English voice acting.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on October 24. Read more about the game here, here, and here.

The 1990s was a pivotal decade for geek culture, solidifying many of the trends and franchises that continue to influence pop culture today. Here's an exploration of the various facets of geekdom in the 90s:
Video Games
The 1990s were a golden era for video games, seeing the rise of iconic franchises and gaming consoles.
Consoles and Games:
Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Sega Genesis were at the forefront of the early 90s gaming scene. Classics like "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past," "Super Mario World," and "Sonic the Hedgehog" became household names.
The mid-90s introduced the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo 64. Games like "Final Fantasy VII," "Metal Gear Solid," "Super Mario 64," and "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" revolutionized the industry with their storytelling and 3D graphics.
PC Gaming:
The rise of PC gaming brought titles like "Doom," "Quake," "Warcraft," and "Starcraft," which laid the groundwork for modern first-person shooters and real-time strategy games.
The introduction of the CD-ROM allowed for more complex and graphically intense games, expanding the possibilities of game design.
Comic Books and Graphic Novels
The 90s was a transformative period for comics, marked by a combination of innovation and market upheavals.
Marvel and DC Comics:
Marvel experienced a surge in popularity with the introduction of new characters like Deadpool and the significant events like the "X-Men's Age of Apocalypse" and "Spider-Man's Clone Saga."
DC Comics shook the world with storylines such as "The Death of Superman" and "Batman: Knightfall."
Independent Publishers:
The formation of Image Comics by former Marvel artists brought a wave of creator-owned series like "Spawn," "The Savage Dragon," and "WildC.A.T.s."
Vertigo, an imprint of DC, produced critically acclaimed titles such as "Sandman" by Neil Gaiman and "Preacher" by Garth Ennis, pushing the boundaries of mature storytelling in comics.
Science Fiction and Fantasy
The 90s were a golden age for science fiction and fantasy, both in literature and on screen.
Television:
"Star Trek" had a strong presence with "The Next Generation" continuing its success, followed by "Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager."
"The X-Files" became a cultural phenomenon, blending science fiction with horror and conspiracy theories.
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" redefined the fantasy genre on television, combining teenage drama with supernatural elements.
Movies:
Blockbuster franchises like "Jurassic Park," "The Matrix," and "Men in Black" showcased cutting-edge special effects and imaginative storytelling.
The re-release of the original "Star Wars" trilogy in special editions prepared the groundwork for the much-anticipated prequel trilogy.
Anime and Manga
The 90s saw the global explosion of anime and manga, making Japanese pop culture a mainstream phenomenon.
Anime:
Series like "Dragon Ball Z," "Sailor Moon," and "Pokémon" became immensely popular worldwide, introducing many to the world of anime.
Films by Studio Ghibli, such as "Princess Mononoke" and "My Neighbor Totoro," received critical acclaim and international recognition.
Manga:
Manga series like "Naruto," "One Piece," and "Berserk" began their runs, setting the stage for long-lasting popularity.
The publication of "Shonen Jump" in English brought many of these series to Western audiences.
Role-Playing Games (RPGs)
The 90s were a significant decade for tabletop RPGs, with many classic games being developed and popularized.
Dungeons & Dragons:
The release of the second edition of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) in 1989 carried through the 90s, with campaigns like "Planescape" and "Dark Sun" becoming fan favorites.
Other RPGs:
"Vampire: The Masquerade" by White Wolf Publishing introduced the World of Darkness, a setting that offered a dark, gothic-punk alternative to traditional fantasy RPGs.
The cyberpunk genre was well represented by games like "Shadowrun" and "Cyberpunk 2020," capturing the gritty, high-tech, low-life aesthetic.
Collectibles and Trading Card Games
The 90s witnessed the birth and explosion of collectible card games (CCGs), with "Magic: The Gathering" leading the charge.
Magic: The Gathering:
Created by Richard Garfield and released by Wizards of the Coast in 1993, "Magic: The Gathering" became a groundbreaking and immensely popular game, sparking a new industry of collectible card games.
Pokémon:
The Pokémon Trading Card Game, released in 1996, quickly became a massive hit alongside the video games and TV series, contributing to the global Pokémon craze.
Internet and Technology
The rise of the internet in the 90s played a crucial role in shaping geek culture.
Early Internet Communities:
Bulletin board systems (BBS), forums, and newsgroups like Usenet allowed geeks to connect and share their interests in ways that were never before possible.
The creation of fan sites and the use of IRC (Internet Relay Chat) facilitated the growth of online communities dedicated to various fandoms.
Technology:
The proliferation of personal computers and the advent of the World Wide Web democratized access to information and entertainment, allowing geek culture to flourish and expand globally.
In conclusion, the 1990s were a transformative decade for geek culture, characterized by the rise of influential media, the advent of groundbreaking technology, and the growth of vibrant communities. The era laid the foundation for many of the trends and franchises that continue to shape geekdom today.

Just woke up a bit ago so I'm sorry if I'm a bit all over the place. @phantomguild is from a time set after the other near-world ending events in the Mystery Dungeon world, with a wide cast of characters across the world all taking on the final threat, and the first one that the world faced. From a Shaymin that broke time to save her brother and is unable to fly as a result. A small yet headstrong hybrid that would do anything for the world she dreams of. And an AI based on a Rockruff-turned-human that fell to the cataclysm once before. Working on this story and brainstorming the rest of the chapters has been therapeutic in a way for me since in a way its me trying to work through some of my own problems, a couple of which are going to be very relevant to the green noodle that a lot of people like. I wish I could say more but I don't want to risk spoiling future story events too much out in the open like this. Though I'm very excited to share them with everyone, and I've been eagerly anticipating working on some of the larger sagas. Sorry if this got a bit long. I'm just excited to finally have some degree of energy for this. I want each update to live up to my own expectations, even if I have a habit of putting them a bit higher than I'm able to reach in my current state. ^^;;
Go check out @phantomguild !!! This is such a cool blog, and I believe I’ve mentioned before how cool it is for ot to take a mystery dungeon setting since it’s something I havent seen nearly as much from my time in the community!!! Working through issues through creative media can be extremely theraputic and honestly I’ve found myself planning scenarios like that for this blog as well XDD For me it adds a but of a realistic/special touch from the mun that just makes the blogs story that much more meaningful!! I’m glad to hear you have your energy back, and can't wait to see what you do!!!

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ♥️
I won't lie, I had reread all my stuff to be able to answer this and it was actually harder than I thought it would be. Turns out I do actually like how I write, who'd have guessed.
But here we go:
With a Kiss From Your Blade: (JayTim) So this was actually the first fic I posted that actually got me to keep writing fics and it holds a special place in my heart for that. Plus I just love how sappy and goofy Jason and Tim are in this and it was the beginning of my hairy Tim Drake agenda.
Hunting Compulsion: (JayTim Digital Devil Saga au) Okay I didn't expect to love this fic as much as I did. It was an off the cuff idea with zero plans that was written in chunks and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've always loved fusion fics (no surprise there considering the amount I've written) and discovering in real time as I wrote all the backstory events and general suffering the bats are going through in this porn fic was really interesting. Also I've been a sucker for literal man eater bats since Gotham Ghoul and this felt right.
Fair Play: (JayDick) First off I love how much of a loser I made Jason in this. It's kink discovery in the best way because he's just silently freaking out the entire time and is a useless gay in the face of it and I had so much fun writing that. It was also my first real attempt at writing this kink and honestly there were so many times I had to be reassured that this was in fact hot and not just a me thing. Shouout to the ending third with Dick's happiness at his change because it was a single paragraph but it had strength that I didn't expect it to.
The Stopgap Favorite: (JayDick, dungeon mesh fusion) Man what can I even say about this besides that this might be the most unhealthy Jason I've ever written and the way his story would translate to the Dungeon Meshi universe is fascinating. It has some of my favorite internal Jason monologues and the sheer bitter resentment and love he has about Bruce despite having sex with Dick is really good like damn I'm proud of myself for that. I also think it has some of the best lines I've ever written, specifically where Jason compares himself to Dick in Bruce's eyes.
A Learning Experience: (BruJay) Look, I don't ship this pairing. I just generally don't like Bruce. But I had so much fun writing this. Between repressed Bruce and confident Jason and just their entire dynamic-! It was so easy to write like I absolutely had a blast doing it. The parts I'm the most proud of are anytime Jason's speaking to Bruce honestly because Jaybin is such much nicer than Jason normally is but also he's a huge brat who knows he has Bruce wrapped around his finger. I just really like this fic guys.

Okay. Huge Guild Wars 2 rant.
I love GW2. I was in the beta test. 3 of my characters are turning 12 real life years old this month. I have played this game for 4,310 hours (or 179.58 DAYS) of my human life. I stopped playing for a bit in the early years, but then came back with a vengeance right around the time Path of Fire was released.
I think it's a good game!!!
I loved the base game. Looking back on it now, and trying to get friends into it later, it was a bit clunky. But it was a new MMO, almost completely different from the original Guild Wars. They needed time to fine tune what they had. I mostly missed Living World Season 1, but LW2 was still very similar to the base game.
With the first expansion, Heart of Thorns, things started to change. They moved away from dungeons, they added new movement options with gliding (no more having to run around cliffs), and overall changed the feel of the game. There were still some issues (I still have trouble navigating Tangled Depths, haha), but the game was finding its stride.
LW3 was excellent. The maps are all so unique, the story more and more engaging with every release. I cannot stress how unique and amazing each map is in LW3!! They put so much care into those maps, which I think is exemplified by the extra long jumping puzzles in Ember Bay and Siren's landing. They didn't have to have such incredibly in depth puzzles showing parts of the maps we never had to see. But so much love and care and attention went into creating all of this.
Which leads to Path of Fire. To me, this is peak GW2. The most beautiful maps and most engaging story yet. The love and passion the devs feel for this game is tangible. The main NPCs are so wonderfully written. The achievements and unlocking the mounts (especially the griffon) were challenging, but it kept you so invested. Every challenge was different, and I felt like I had to keep playing because there was always something new and exciting to do. This continued on beautifully into LW4.
Then ArenaNet announced massive layoffs of the GW2 team in February of 2019. In September of that year, The Icebrood Saga began.
I felt that the writing was still pretty good here.... but the cuts were noticeable. The achievements for each map changed from being incredibly unique challenges to do this event 50 times. The maps started being released in segments instead of all at once. In Champions, they didn't even make new maps, you were just in old maps again.
End Of Dragons. Every map has the achievement touch 1 million lanterns. The maps are large, but feel so empty. New Kaineng is just nearly identical skyscrapers you need to navigate around. Echovald is large swaths of trees with nothing in them. The NPCs aren't particularly memorable. They introduce 3 factions in Echovald that just.... don't matter, and aren't very different. I am a person who loves a fishing mini game (soooo much), and I really dislike the fishing system they introduced here. And skiffs. These things were added to make it feel like more was added to the game, but they were not well thought out or polished. And the Gen 3 legendary weapons. They feel more like a Black Lion set than legendaries. Gen 1&2 legendaries were each unique, with unique animations and footprints to each one. The Gen 3s are all the same thing over and over. Oh but you can get recolors of them, so CLEARLY that makes them good lol.
And now Secrets of the Obscure. The story is oh here's secret Wizards you've literally never heard of, who are protecting the world from secret Demons you also have never heard of. The whole thing was pulled straight out of someone's ass. Like they only have 1 writer now and they're under the world's most massive time crunch. This is a paid expansion, and they released the story in parts. Frankly unacceptable. This is a LW but you need to pay money for it. One of the maps was released in THREE SEPARATE PARTS. They cut it in THIRDS and released it slowly!!!! The whole first map is reused assets again, and the last map is covered in ugly, undistinguishable textures. So many of the achievements in the last two expansions are run around and click on 1 million small things on a map. Instead of anything fun or engaging.
It is so hard to believe the drop in quality that has been happening here. Very clearly because the dev team was eviscerated. There used to be a huge team of people who loved working on this game. Now they have like 3 people who are being forced to churn out """"full expansions"""" in a year.
I haven't been able to bring myself to finish the last release of SotO yet. It's gotten depressing and frustrating to play.
Next is Janthir Wilds, and I do not have high hopes. They're doing Homesteads as the 4th type of home base they've tried to introduce to the game. They're focusing on re-releasing Warclaws, a mount that has been available for 5 and a half years.
I miss when this game was loved.

Right off a semi-non-sequitor strategy game, DL12: Dragons of Faith (1986) gets right into…another mass combat heavy scenario. Hooray. Again, there is a ton of stuff in the package — the module and its folder, a sheet of little tarot cards, die-cut chits for the Battlesystem bits, another big ol’ map. Borderline decadent product design, tbh.
The digression of DL11 aside, this picks up directly from the action of DL10. I don’t honestly know what novel we are mirroring at this point — my recollection of Spring Dawning is spotty, and these modules have never really reflected the novels with any great care. At least part of the action here is still in the tail end of Winter Night. There is a ton of stuff in here that isn’t in the books, for sure. I don’t remember Spring Dawning well, but I am SURE there wasn’t a gigantic underwater battle in it. Conversely, I am pretty sure there are character moments in the novels that aren’t reflected in the module, but I’ve already come to terms with that since Sturm is potentially still alive at the tabletop. At any rate, the game is structured like the previous installments — narrative heavy, with players really navigating a series of events more than a dungeon, city or wilderness. The formula does feel like it has become rather refined at this point (it better be, with nearly 60 events in the chain!) even if I don’t really love how it is brought to bear, if that makes sense.
The little tarot deck is interesting. In a way, it is a regurgitation from I6: Ravenloft: they get drawn and tell the players about specific things that are going on in the game. It’s…OK? I don’t feel like, thematically, they fit very well, but what do I know? They are used in the subsequent modules and, like, become the basis of a whole new game with SAGA System in the late ‘90s (which powered the Dragonlance Fifth Age game and a Marvel Super Heroes game).

Ultra Instinct Shaggy/Ultimate Reaper Shaggy
Tumblr media
There's a long, convoluted story behind this piece. In the original version of Chronicles Meteorfall, Meteo Chronicles, there was going to be three alternate endgame routes. The "normal route", the "demon route", and the "golden route." The normal route was the standard route through the endgame. However, things got interesting once you got to the two "alternate routes."
The demon route was unlocked immediately after clearing the game. After loading your completed file you would be brought back to before the final battle where the events of said final battle would be contextualized as a vision the characters had of future events. Learning that a great sacrifice would be required to defeat the big bad, the characters look for an alternate means to saving the world. This leads them to labrynthia, a secret dungeon hidden under the normal final dungeon, the Tower of Babel. This dungeon originally was a maze with the 7 archfiends in each of the corners, but in Meteo Chronicles R, the initial remaster of the game (version 2.0) that was cut in favor of Chronicles Meteorfall, a from the ground up remake, it was changed to a proper dungeon with multiple of its own bosses that was cut up into sections with each section requiring that you defeat a specific archfiend to progress.
Regardless of which version was going to be the final one, a mysterious cloaked figure was going to appear after each Archfiend/Boss was defeated to warn the party that what they're doing is going to destroy the world, as the party is trying to destroy the pillars holding up the Tower of Babel to destroy the tower from its foundation. This will apparently lead to disastrous consequences. You then have the option to heed the mysterious man's warnings and go forward with the regular route of the game, or push forward further into this dangerous alternate path.
At the final pillar the cloaked man finally reveals himself as Koros from an alternate dark future where after the Tower of Babel was destroyed a fissure opened up in the ground releasing a horde of demons and plunging the world into utter chaos. This version of Koros sacrificed everything, including his fallen friends, to return to the past and attempt to stop his past self from destroying the world. So the final battle begins between the Koros from the past and future. The Koros from the past wins and collapses the final pillar, and exactly what the future Koros says happens. The tower does collapse, but without the tower there serving as a natural seal for the demonic chasm underneath, hordes of demons come rushing out of the pit and end up destroying all of society.
This ending would be followed up in the alternate universe sequel "Chronicles Black", formerly known as "Meteo Chronicles 2: Darksteel Saga", where there are three endings: law, chaos, and neutral. Law would involve destroying the world and returning it to its primordial state, chaos would be merging humans and the demons into one new race where everyone would return to their primal instincts, and neutral would be traveling back in time to prevent your past self from destroying the world. No matter what you do, the world is screwed. In law Elzakalas, the god of destruction, wins due to spoilers. In chaos humanity goes feral and it will be millions of years before humanity finds reason again, if ever, and neutral results in either a stable time loop of Koros killing his future self and going back in time to die again or Future Koros killing his past self and therefore being erased from time, which dooms the timeline because then future generations of the satori family like Serrah or Ryuuta could never be born and either Baetylus or Laos would end up destroying the world. So no matter what, the world would be doomed in this timeline. A true "earn your bad ending" sort of route.
This ending/route was fully removed from the current build of Chronicles Meteorfall, the v3.0 of the overall game concept, but concepts from that ending/route will be reused. While Chronicles Meteorfall itself will only have one route with 3 endings (good, bad, and secret) there is another saga brewing that will tie into both Chronicles Meteorfall and Chronicles III. Yes, as I like to call it, the "Chaos Saga" including the trilogy of "Chaos;Domain", "Boundless;Domain", and "Chronicles Black."
In this new trilogy Koros is sent spiraling across time and space away from his home world and time where he has to uncover the conspiracy of the "Throne of CHAOS" and stop various entities from claiming its power for themselves. The first game, Chaos;Domain, I have talked about quite a bit on this blog. It is a decently short first person dungeon crawler featuring callbacks to previous KrimsonKatt games and only has one ending.
Boundless;Domain is where things get interesting with 7 different endings and many different possible routes. The game is split into two chunks, the "Emblas Arc" and the "Throne of Chaos Arc". The Emblas Arc is the main portion of the game and once the first arc is completed you can end the game at any time to obtain the "good ending". The good ending and true ending are both equally canon to the main timeline, as the results of those endings on the events of Zutara do not change, it only effects characters outside Zutara and their relationships towards Koros. However, you can choose to continue the game into the postgame, also known as Part 2 or the "Throne of Chaos Arc". This part has a primary route with 2 different endings and 3 alternate routes each with one ending. Here are each of the routes and endings and their canonicity status:
Part 1 Endings:
Good Ending: The standard default ending of the game. Is canon to the main timeline of the Chronicles of Chronicles series.
Throne of Chaos Endings:
Bad Ending: The ending you get by not reaching at least B Rank Support with every character before reaching the end of the bonus dungeon/descent "Titanic Depths" for the first time. It is completely non-canon similar to the bad endings of Chronicles the Lost Page, Noel and the Tower of Doom, and Chronicles Meteorfall.
True Ending: The ending you get by reaching at least B Rank Support with every character before reaching the end of the Titanic Depths, then convincing a certain character to join you after their boss fight. This will prompt the true final boss "Chaos Reborn" and the true ending. It is canon to the main timeline of the Chronicles of Chronicles series and is equal to the standard good ending in it's canonicity.
Alternate Route Endings:
Nightmare Ending: An alternate route to Chaos;Domain. To reach this route you must meet with the mysterious boy who appears in Gate after at least one ending is obtained (NG+) and complete all of his requests. This route involves fighting the remaining Deviants (remember those guys from Chronicles Meteorfall) and destroying the Tzga Order for good. In this route all your party members leave you, but you are given 5 new party members, Lil Fella, Alcotto, No Name, Vivian, and Barbello. Some of these party members are EXTREMELY OP and are very useful in the fight against the overpowered and overleveled deviants. The final boss of this route is Bio-Himeros and potentially Lil Fella himself. This route is considered an alternate universe and while canon in a cosmological sense, it is not canon to the MAIN timeline of the Chronicles of Chronicles series. Though considering the Deviants lie outside of time, it is technically canon to all timelines yet isn't canon to the main timeline either.
Demon Ending: An alternate version of the demon ending from Meteo Chronicles and Chronicles Meteorfall. It is practically the same ending, but with time travel instead of future visions. To obtain this ending you must open the gate of time hidden in a secret room within Gundigap by using 3 "time stones" dropped by the NG+ superbosses Terrasol, Akalis, and Blinnadeus. This allows Koros to meet with Anake, goddess of fate and a future villain in the fighting game spinoff, who allows Koros to go back in time to try to save a certain character, which is Koros' greatest regret. This causes similar events to occur as the cut Demon Ending from Meteo Chronicles and Meteo Chronicles R, including a time traveling Koros. However one aspect of the ending is massively changed. Instead of a chasm of demons opening up, a portal opens up in the sky summoning a second Baetylus who crashes into the planet and destroys society while evolving terrors into their next evolutionary stage. Why a second Baetylus appears remains a mystery even through Chronicles Black, but is explained in the final game of the Crimson Meteo Trilogy, Chronicles III: Ascension. This ending is canon, but is explicitly an alternate timeline. This ending is followed up in the current version of Chronicles Black as well as Chronicles III: Ascension, who's second half involves exploring this destroyed alternate timeline.
The final ending in boundless domain is the Golden Ending, but we'll get to that one later.
Now, to cover the endings in the real Chronicles Black, which has been massively reworked from the original draft. In the current version of Chronicles Black the protagonist is no longer Koros but rather a dragonkin without the power to transform named Nahash. Like in the original draft there are three routes, law, chaos, and neutral, but this time the routes are drasticly different.
Law: The law route is relatively the same with the difference that Nahash is transformed into an angel after the route split and gains an insane power boost along with it. Like in the OG script Nahash resets the universe but in doing so dooms everyone and everything due to spoilers.
Chaos: In this ending Nahash sides with the mysterious girl in his head, Nyako, who orders him to massacre every last entity in the universe to consume their souls and ascend beyond god's providence. This route is pretty much an edgelord power fantasy where Nahash gives into his dark powers, the power of gluttony, to absorb the souls of people and monsters to gain all their powers. It's revealed in that route that Nahash is the grandson of Archon Adonis the fell dragon and he himself is the Archon of Gluttony. He was supposed to die on his 13th birthday but thanks to the Second Crimson Calamity that happened in this timeline it caused a butterfly affect that caused him to survive and in this route fully awaken as the archon of gluttony. In this route you have no party members, just Nahash. However Nahash's level cap is raised from 99 all the way from 99,999 and his stat caps are raised from 999 all the way to 9,999,999 and every soul he consumes allows him to obtain ALL their arts and have their level added to his, quickly allowing your power level to snowball as you destroy everyone and everything. Killing every NPC, effortlessly killing every boss that would normally be a struggle on other routes, until you eventually consume the entire world and then starsphere before setting your sights on the gods themselves. Eventually Nahash ends up consuming both Elzakalas and Barbello and ends up consuming the entire tree of sefiros and the false tree of quilloth, but then he is left with nothing left to consume as he, this immoral, all powerful, godly being who has consumed both god and the devil and stolen their powers and authority, sinks into the waters of chaos where everything emerges and returns to. Even for a being beyond gods, the end is inevidible.
Neutral: The canon ending of the game and the hardest route of the game by far as you get no power boosts. It is recomended for NG+ after clearing one of the other two routes as the route starts with two back to back very tough bosses. In this ending humanity is able to fight back both the evolved terrors and the angelic forces working under Mekala and defeat both at once, beginning the process of rebuilding the broken world just has their ansestors did before. This route is canon to this particular timeline and leads into the events shown in the second half of Chronicles III.
But now, at long last, onto the main event, the "Golden Route!" In the original version of Chronicles Meteorfall, Meteo Chronicles, alongside the 2.0 version Meteo Chronicles R, there was an additional route only unlocked in NG+. To unlock the route you must talk to a bunny girl in the final town who will cause a distorsion in reality to not only turn all the party members into bunny girls, but also create a new dream-like timeline where everything is perfect and nothing goes wrong. However the three reapers, death reaper, life reaper, and time reaper are angry that the story of the world would be messed up in this way and transfigure the area around the Tower of Babel into the "paradox city" to eventually take over and destroy the entire world and create a new world of order. The party then enters the paradox city and fights through the three towers "Thanatos Tower", "Asclepius Tower", and "Chronos Tower" filled with "corrupted memes" and playing siilvergunner rips of the themes previously used in the tower of babel. At the end of each tower you fight the boss and after defeating all three you enter the "paradox keep" to defeat their master, the reaper king, who is none other than Shaggy Rogers from Scooby Doo! For some reason... He ends up being one of the hardest bosses in the game having an 100% P.EVA rate and having many attacks taken from Dragon Ball Z. Eventually he is defeated and everyone lives happily ever after including the bad guys who all turn good.
This ending was always meant to be a joke ending/meme route, and will likely be adapted, with alternations of course, as an ending of Boundless;Domain which will likely involve the Throne of Chaos. IDK I haven't come up with the main plot.
This is the sprite/design I planned for said Reaper King boss in the cut meme route of Meteo Chronicles and Meteo Chronicles R. I told you this would be a long story! This took me 2 hours to write!

i was thinking about a mario rpg/dungeon meshi-like au at one point.. which actually prompted me to play bowser's inside story [and partners in time, when i find a rom] so i can better understand fawful as a character [because i've known of his existence for like 7 years yet never played the other rpg games outside of smrpg, superstar saga and dream team]
i know he goes into hiding after the events of superstar saga [and he hides underneath peach's castle iirc??] and that gave me the brain worms to think of like. a dungeon lord fawful and i REALLY wanna draw that!! 'cause i think the relationship between him and cackletta is super interesting. and i thought it'd be a really interesting way to incorporate my dragon s/i that i usually have hanging out with popple! since i feel a little embarrassed about younger me's backstory for her obtaining that form [or maybe i'm just.. tired of it? and wanna play around with the design more? idk]
idk much about the dark star, but i think it could play the same role as the winged lion and give fawful all those cool dungeon lord powers and whatnot. and mario and luigi forming a little gang of misfits to come rescue me makes me feel soft 'cause i still view them as like. older bros ;v;
