A part of cleaning that’s difficult that u don’t see mentioned as often is that the Cleaning Implements become filthy, because you are using them to clean. And well. The fact that the cleaning implement required to facilitate the cleaning is filthy becomes a massive barrier to The Cleaning. I have to touch this thing, that is filthy. Transferring past filth to new surface, to “clean”? Dear lord

-not everyone needs to use facewash or bodywash on a regular basis. if water is enough for you, it's enough.
-not everyone needs to use moisturizer all the time. if you don't get issues when you don't moisturize, you probably don't need to.
they are just trying to sell us things!!! some people do benefit from these things, but if a wet washcloth or whatever works to keep you clean and comfortable, it works! there's no inherent human need for bodywash and moisturizer and anyone who tries to tell you everyone needs a "basic skin care routine" involving multiple products is either trying to sell you something or has been indoctrinated by those people.
so stop being weirdos and shaming people for not needing the same skin care routine as you!!!

sorry for my lack of knowledge about the world everyone 😔 i’ve been hit in the head a lot when i was younger and it made me very stupid
i’m back again with a question for anyone who may have an answer or an idea, but does anyone have a face care routine/products that’s hydrating & good for both sensitive dry & oily skin?
if i get things for dry skin it messes with the oil an makes that way worse, if i do something for the oil it makes my skin dry out real bad— i can’t seem to win an my poor face is suffering lmao
i’ve tried cerve, cetaphil, aveeno, an so on— hadn’t had a lot of good luck depending on what i’m using it for, like for example so far with the lotions they’re like to oily or something an my skin gets really shiny an my pores clog that or the worst part it makes my skin feel weird an gross an i lowkey freak the fuck out :’((

Last year I knit a teddy bear for my baby cousin for his first Christmas and he loves it so much his parents have (very kindly) asked for me to please make a second one Just In Case something happens to the first.
Which I've been putting off for a while. But the power of adhd, restlessness, and sleep deprivation combined got me here to today! The original bear took 70 grams of yarn, and the remaining 30 was almost perfect for knitting all the limbs/little bits. I have less than 5 grams left of that original skein which isn't even enough for a leg. Now I get to break into a brand new skein for the last fun parts of this bear (the knitting) before I get to the Evil (so. much. seaming. and face shaping. the face shaping is like four times as bad as the seaming.)

Hi there! Asking for a friend.
So when I was a teen, I had a lot of acne on my forehead, temples, nose, chin, and jaw. I'm now 22 and like a lot of young adults, it's gotten better but I still have acne on my jaw, and some acne scars all over my face, as well as blackheads on my nose.
I have a mixed skin type (meaning it's both greasy and dry), and I moisturize after the shower, but I've gotten into the habit of exfoliating every day with a face scrub, and it's been brought to my attention that it might be the reason why my skin keeps getting so grainy after a few hours.
Problem is, if I don't use face scrub every day, my skin gets all grainy so it's like this vicious circle where I have to entertain a bad habit which only makes things worse, cause if I don't then my skin looks bad (kind of like when you wash your hair every day because if you don't it's greasy, but the reason it's greasy is that you wash it every day, see what I mean?).
So I'm getting really desperate, I don't know what to do anymore. I don't have bad enough skin to try roaccutane (and I've had some scary reviews from people who have, so it's not an option anyway), and I feel like I've tried everything. So if you guys have had the same problem and have found solutions, I'd be really grateful if you could share them with me :)
Thank you in advance!

Do you guys want my new skincare routine? Im sharing my new low-effot high-reward skincare routine.
In the morning! I wash my face with a salicylic acid oil-free face wash. Then i do some hydration cream, because the face wash kinda dries me out but it works, and the teeniest drop of retinol on problem areas (ie chin and jawline). Then some suncream, because it feels like the right thing to do. Then lip balm, bc of course.
At night! I wash my face again. I go in with the retinol all over. I cover any spots with this gel that works like those spot patches but it just works better and feels more hygienic for me, and the gel is better than the patches for my skin picky tendencies. Then i go over any unhealed spots and red marks with some classic e45 because it helps with the picky tendencies too. Then lip balm too of course.
I swap pillow cases roughly every six weeks, flipping sides every three weeks or so (not at strict intervals! This is very low effort. I do it when i notice more problem area spots on whichever side ive been sleeping on)
And thats it. Four steps, sometimes five. Which is good for me because i used to do like seven/eight steps with different serums and multiple face washes and i simply dont have time and tbf i wasnt seeing results anyway so i like. Stopped all of it completely and resorted to face wipes and nothing else until i eased myself back up to here.

any other autistic person with sensory issues always seem to have many itches? can't ignore them and have to scratch a random itch every 30 seconds? itches that arent caused by anything specific like bug bites or rashes. but maybe caused by clothing or hair moving, wind blowing, you get cold or start sweating, any movement, something touching you, or even just trying to sit still and feeling an itch pop up in a random place for no reason. seems like I always have an itch and need to scratch it. i'm always uncomfortable and feel like my skin is always activated. in school i'd watch other kids to see if they scratched an itch every minute and they didn't. they could sit still. only I had random itches. some teachers yelled at me for fidgeting but it wasn't that. I had to scratch itches that if ignored felt like something was biting me. do other people ignore them? or do other people not get itchy got no reason? is this a common autism thing, or do I just have overly sensitive skin for no reason?

crazy how like when i go through depressive episodes (that are worse than my baseline depression), i stop doing my little skincare routine and using lotion and brushing my teeth and then trying to get back into those habits is a big thing that pulls me out of those episodes partly because of having A Routine again but also. crazy how taking care of my skin makes it look and feel better, brushing my teeth not only stops them from Feeling Gross but also look better, etc etc
