An alternate reality

We are often brought into this world before we are ready to make life-altering decisions. We are forced to choose our paths without truly knowing what we want to do tomorrow, let alone for the rest of our lives. In a fast-paced world where today's decisions determine our tomorrow, we are expected to make informed choices about our future.

Sometimes, I wish I had more time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, figure out myself before making these decisions.

Oh, if only I had had more time. If only I had had more time to get to know myself, maybe I would know what to choose so I wouldn't be as disappointed in myself as I am now.

I chose a path that I can't get out of anymore. I feel as if I got on a bullet train and just as soon as it moved forward, I could not have the option to get off because it is so fast that if I opened the door I would be terribly hurt.

I chose a path that I feel I will never be able to leave. Often I have the feeling that I can no longer make my life over, because starting from scratch is so complicated these days.

Maybe tomorrow I will know what to do. But for now, I just want to close my eyes and pretend that this is the only world I'm not happy in. I like to believe that in some alternate reality I'm an artist, a great writer, or a great musician who is part of the soundtrack to those kinds of movies that make you feel like life is worth living. I want to believe that, in an alternate reality, I am happy.

We hope you all had a wonderful winter holiday season and a safe new year! January on Indo is traditionally Nox’s year, but due to events following the last Holy Wars, this year she is sharing her month with Angelus. Since this is Angelus’ first time hosting an event of this nature, she has decided to go all in, and hopefully has a little something for everyone to enjoy!

First off, for our writers out there. We have a writing contest with two classes. One for those of us who are short and to the point, with a minimum word count of 100 words and a maximum of 500 words, and one for those of us who just ramble on and on and… with a minimum word count of 500 and a maximum of 1000. Those contests can be found below. The theme for both is Dreams and Wishes. You can feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.

Second, for those who are inclined more towards drawing and/or coloring! We have a multi-class art event. Hang on, because we have a lot of segments here. Be creative, and show off your idea of the month's theme!

Angelus has noticed that many of the horses are finding mysterious bags in their explorations, but they may not always get what they want out of them. As such, she has created a place where horses can give up an item they found, that someone else may want, in exchange for the chance of getting something they might want! You have the chance of finding "Fragments" when you donate items, which will be able to be exchanged in the future for other god currency of your choice. Occasionally, a horse might even find themselves receiving a gift from Nox herself, as a thank you for thinking of others. This includes the coveted Nox's Whisper, which lets you create a custom foal! There's a lot of ways to create and contribute in this event, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with, whether it's writing, visual art, or otherwise! We have one more event coming up for those of you who love to play in the CP, so stay tuned! Meet the Ethereal Caiman, Stag, and Zorro, the three new companions you can discover this month! To clarify a few points: - You can get five fragments per day from the tree. They aren't in your inventory, but are properly stored on your account and will be seen on the Event Shop page when exchanges are available again. These are not event currency for this month - they are able to be exchanged for other months! - You can get one gift from Nox per day from the tree.- You can claim up to six donated items from the tree per day, once per four hour period (every 4 hours after Rollover server time - 12am, 4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm. ) - You can donate as many items as you want to the tree. There are only limits on how many fragments & Nox gifts you can claim. - The theme for the writing and art contests is "Dreams and Wishes". The theme for coloring is "Reflections". - You can enter as many of the creative contests as you’d like, but you will only receive one Twilight Owl participation award. - The deadline for all contests will be 11:59pm Indo Time, January 27.
