so, what exactly ARE dream sheep?? what makes them different from normal sheep?

I don't have a lot of lore since it never seemed important enough to cover until recently I guess.

Dream sheep are magical creatures along with their counterpart, nightmare wolves. What sets them apart from normal sheep is their abilities involving the realm of sleep and emotion. Also they probably look like they're made of clouds and stardust! Prettyyy.

Anyway, dream sheep, or "counting sheep," are creatures who are able to put people to sleep and grant them good dreaming. They tend to do this either through magic or contact with their fleece. Most flocks will usually show up at night in towns to "graze" on the thoughts of sleeping people. Nobody really knows why they go out of their way to help people rest, so grazing is more just the best term people could use.

The flock kept at the farm Izzy grew up in, however, did not have contact with a town. So they never attempted to put anyone to sleep other than maybe Izzy as a kid. Their actual food source outside of bog-standard grass and hay is actually nightmare wolves. Yup! They both eat each other.

Usually whichever wins a conflict will feed off the stardust and meat of the other. This in turn makes them more powerful. It's also why most of the "work" on the farm happens at night. Because both sides are probably out to at least catch a body from the other whilst hunting/defending the flock. a 2-1 food and power source for the other, how efficient!

So anyone feel like trying their hand at designing one (or however many you want) of the remaining 95 dream sheep? Only rules are they have to be sheep (no anthro characters), they have to have a bell with their number on it, and either a blue or purple ribbon.

The Dream Sheep doesn't have any attacks and completely relies on the Sleep Dragon to do the fighting for him. When captured, he can breathe out a blast of nightmare energy that stuns enemies.
