I see you're a Temeraire fan! Any fics you'd want to rec to someone new to the fandom? thanks!
WHO SENT YOU?? It's so funny because I JUST got one of my best friends reading this series (SLAM IS THIS YOU??? MO???), and have been meaning to reread. I wonder how you clocked I was a fan?? I don't think I've reblogged anything recently lol.
REGARDLESS;
Resurgence by ladyshadowdrake
One of the few ABO fics I will admit to having read, because it is such an interesting regency era Pride and Prejudice premise, with one of my all time favorite characters. (Laurence- it's Laurence.) Not that there is anything wrong with ABO, but I try not to bring up mpreg in casual conversation.
The Diplomats Dragon by indecisive_lotus
HAMMOND!!! I love this fic, because I have a deep unwavering love for characters perceived as unlikeable, who are revealed to be given depth. This is such an interesting perspective to the entire Temeraire series, with SUCH a different dragon character from any in the actual series. Churki is such an interesting, stubborn, grandmotherly character who has taken Hammond upon herself like a plague. Fantastic fic, fantastic family dynamics, fantastic outside perspective to the series.
Mutiny on the Reliant by WerewolvesAreReal
PIRATE KING LAURENCE. This reads as all the potential the original Laurence have, just if circumstances were slightly different. Fantastic look into the mechanics of having and loving a dragon, and a high seas adventure to boot.
If you have time, absolutely peruse the authors other fics, because they are FANTASTIC and one of my favorite authors, and have a very extensive list of works that probably have SOMETHING for you.
Okay I can't think of any more right now- but I do have I think a snippet of a Star Wars/Temeraire crossover somewhere lol. Hold on let me look...
OKAY I FOUND IT! This is from 2018. It was a little snippet I scribbled down to possibly expand later, of how dragons would work in space lol. BB-8 is Poe's sweet little combat dragon, Finn steals an imperial dragon- I don't remember the rest, but I had a whole AU planned for it lmao.
(TW gore, burning, implications of slavery)
Dragons came in all sorts of shapes, after millenia of evolution.
Some were wingless, serpentine, and inhabiting aquatic planets where they filtered chlorine based bacteria through sturdy steel-like gills. There were dragons that hibernated in geothermal vents, emerging only with great cataclysm to breed and nest and kill, and sleep again. Like natural disasters. Once the ancestors of dragons long ago gained the ability of cosmic travel, wings scudding through light and solar radiation as easily as birds through air, they spread their seed across the universe and grew roots more varied and colorful than any other species.
The only dragons Rey had seen before had been the vast, cruiser sized things that traversed the deserts of Jakku.
Untamable by either the Resistance or the First Order; implacable, and crossing the stretching desert on clawed feet that shook the ground and made the sand jump for miles around. They survived almost entirely on starlight, with their vast wings built for the absorption of endless desert sunlight, like their star crossing ancestors, reluctant to fly. From a distance they looked almost like cruisers, with solar sails fluttering gently in the desert breeze, and the shimmering haze of the desert obscuring their tree-trunk like legs and low slung heads.
Some enterprising settlers had tried to harness them, in the fashion of colonized planets everywhere, who took advantage of whatever draconic species inhabited the area. Occasionally you’d still find remnants of the taming coalitions who’d made any kind of progress, their shattered bones sucked dry by the thirsty desert, and buildings smashed into shards of durasteel and permacrete.
The herds were unforgiving, and the ruins had been left to their sand and sun and gravel pits.
One taking rare flight was enough wind force to cause storms miles away, heaving the heavy, hot Jakku air like someone stirring soup. They could be seen as a shape in the sky even bigger than that of the two moons, wings that covered the stars and uncovered wrecks that were long since buried with the force of their winds. Scavengers scrambled desperately in their wake, risking the wrath of the herd for undiscovered wreckage.
Rey had seen one fly once when she’d been little and thirsty, dragging a load of fuses as long as her arm on a sled, and sweat sticking her hair to her eyes and face. She’d been covered in dust for days, caked so thick two rains hadn’t washed it away and she’d cracked at her elbows and knees where it had baked hard and red.
But the sight of those massive wings, and the dull mottled brown hide creaking into the cold air like an impossible thing had stayed in her dreams for weeks.
This one struggling in the Teedo’s net was much smaller.
The fading sunlight made it hard to see, the shapes simply an outline of a struggle against the golden sand. But Rey had sharp eyes, and she hadn’t strained or exhausted herself nearly as much as she’d expected to today searching the remains of an Imperial series 5 cruiser. Made it easy to get involved.
“Hey!” There was no response from the Teedo at her irritated cry, only an angry shrill screeching that sounded almost mechanical, the dragon’s elegantly frilled head pinned against its side and claws tangled in the shredded net.
There were two Teedo, both lashing the net to their respective luggabeasts and chattering excitedly. Rey uncertainly thought she caught a few words about coin, and immediately felt a hot rage grip her throat, flipping from mildly irritated to furious. Enslavement wasn’t uncommon on Jakku, but it didn’t change the fact that she personally found it distasteful. She’d been saved from the fate multiple times only by the good will of Jabu, something in the disgusting man's morals holding to whatever contract had inclined him to hire Rey in the first place.
This was someone’s beast, judging by the Alliance-issue harness on it, and they were going to sell it as meat.
“I said HEY,” Rey skidded to a halt as she reached the bottom of the dune, and the little ragged figures jerked back, hissing and chittering angrily at her.
The dragon struggled anew at the interruption, shrieking in fury and kicking up enough dust with its free tail that Rey had to squint behind her own head covering. “That’s a Rebel dragon you’re taking to the slaughter,” She informed them coldly, raising her voice only slightly to be heard over the racket, and the chittering slowed to a sullen muttering.
“Yes! Yes, yes, home, Poe home gone other man take-” The dragon seemed overcome by this, and squalled in fury, jerking towards one of the Teedo, and almost shutting its teeth (net and all) over its extended arm, which was grasping the net. Its words were oddly stilted, short- although whether it was with stress or some impediment wasn’t very clear.
The Teedos shrieked in their own alarm, and in the brief moment they backed away from snapping jaws, Rey leapt over the wildly swinging tail and past their reach. She took her knife to the netting, glancing off of the hard sunset and steel-colored scales running from the dragons brow, to the tip of its tail. She sawed through the netting with no small amount of effort, arms burning and fingers slipping from sweat. The heat coming off of the dragon was incredible in the dry, brisk Jakku evening, and she thought surely it couldn’t be natural. It frizzled the hair on her arms, and rippled the air touching it’s scaly soft hide like an oven heating.
One of the little thieves realized what she was doing and crackled an angry warning, grabbing her roughly by the back of her tunic and throwing her onto the sand- but she was back up in a flash, yelling angrily and swinging the knife still in her hand in a short sharp arc that missed the Teedo by a bare inch. She bared her teeth, furious enough that the way the scavengers gripped their staffs and moved carefully forward didn’t scare her nearly as much as it should have.
But she’d done her damage. With a horrendous series of ripping pops, the net came away completely, and the dragon unfurled its wings and thrashed its way free of the net, knocking one of the luggabeasts over onto its side with a sad groan of metal and a weakly kicking leg. The net trailed sadly from its saddle as the dragon disentangled itself, almost frantic with its movements and chittering too fast for Rey to understand.
It let out a triumphant squall, and drew in an incredibly large breath, chest expanding unnaturally, and throat pouching now that it was freed- and with a clicking rattle like a ripper raptor-
It spewed a hot and dusty flame the color of the blue sands at night across the two who had trapped it. Indigo and glittering, the flame charred the sand enough that Rey thought she caught glittering hints of glass, throwing an arm across her eyes to fight the glare.
It was rife with a chemical fume that sent her staggering back, retching faintly and dizzy with the sudden smell of burning meat and the shrieking of the Teedo, whose arms waved frantically in an attempt to shuck the burning rags off of itself. The second was already prone on the ground and crackling like a merry blaze, the fire turning bright red and greasy as it ate away at its new fuel. The smell was horrendous, as if someone had lit a pile of sodden trash.
Suddenly there was a jerking around her waist that almost made her vomit, sharp and sudden, her breath leaving in a whoosh- and the two burning red dots were growing further and further away on the blueing sands as she was dragged into the sky.
Above her, the dragon shrieked victoriously and chittered and Rey cheerlessly wished that it had at least let her grab her pack half-depleted of ion batteries and broken medical scanners before flying them away.

(Ghost Pokemon AU) Ghost Type Pokemon Pac Trio
So I was working on the Ghost Pokemon AU and was going through a resurgence of a PMATGA hyperfixation at the moment and then I remembered "Hey the main characters of PMATGA have a role in this ,AU, why not draw them in the AU?",and because of that, here we are! This AU spans a lot of series and is very extremely crossovery in general, so why not! I need to make a masterpost/synopsis of this AU, I swear-
Also Spiral was a pain to draw bc I never drew Dragapult before and AAAAAAA- (I'm fine! Don't worry! Haha! Seriously though why...)
So they are! In all of their ghost fighting glory!
Started on: 2-18-2024
it's to be noted that they didn't start out in these forms exactly. A series of events caused their souls to take the forms they did. I made their eyes look similar to how ghosts in the show had them. Also the reason for the spectral lighting was because of Dragapults looking slightly more spectral... I'll try to elaborate more when I get to it.
Pac (Gengar)
The yellow boi himself! The way he goes out is on the hands of a certain other ghost fighting hero through way of misunderstanding. The beginning of his character arc is based on a fanmade one minute melee on Deviantart I read when I was younger. (I might link to it when I find it...) I will probably make the choreography of the fight somewhat different to that but the outcome is the same. I chose Gengar because of their long tongues and round bodies. (That and the fact the ears can be made to resemble his eyebrows.) He is known as the "Golden Gengar" to locals via rumors and became quite the urban legend. But rest assured, he is still the same Pac inside! Just more traumatized! :')
Cyli (Gourgeist)
Cyli is a Gourgeist since it and Pumpkaboo could be seen as a somewhat gothic cute ghost type Pokemon. (If that reasoning makes sense...) The fur of Pumpkaboo is black and the hairstyle of Gourgeist is simular in my opinion. Also the default shinies mesh well enough ingame. Besides the grass typing is somewhat befitting of her upbringing. So, how did she end up like this? Well, if i'll be honest, I didn't quite document how well her death goes quite yet. Same with Spiral. I only have the basics rn. Essentially, she dies to a mysterious enity in a meadow with a colony of pumpkins (is that what a group of pumpkins called...?) growing in Autumn. Her soul destablizes and is forced to bind into a pumpkin, giving a new form! By the way, she is an Average Size Gourgeist.
Spiral (Dragapult)
And finally, Spiral is a Dragapult! He wound up killed in the Lake of Dragons. (Name and Location Pending) His soul wound up absorbing the ancient draconic energies in the lake causing him to take the form of a Dreepy. Dragapult is from what I recall the tallest of the three pokemon, so it seem pretty befitting for him! (Also it gives me an excuse to use Dragapult somewhere, so yea.) He basically has a whole story thing with Soko, as Soko has the distinction of being the first of the three's Partner Digimon to find out about their respective deceased Tamer's whereabouts and travels with him! At one point after he first evolves a random Dreepy finds him and follows him around! He eventually goes "I guess it's mine now." and takes it in. (You could probably guess more eventually came.) He basically exudes so much big sibling energy that it was inevitable anyways!

dhil story leaks/bailu theory situation ramble again, incoherent prolly. do Not take this as an established theory that i fully stand behind bc that 100% clueless in my bio is there for a reason !!!
ok honestly im ngl ive confused myself now after looking at the daniel story leaks again and sleeping on it. bailu theory status is pending its literally schrödingers rn im so torn. does the timeline enable for it or not???? it Would explain some things but hhhhhh i cant make sense of it yet.
at first i was like yeah p sure its not happening bc of the dragon heart fuckery and how baiheng wasnt there for the entire course of events only arriving once shit was going down but. what if. df used the heart partially for resurrecting yx??? and then as baiheng sacrificed herself i do find it curious that they specify only drops of blood and hair remaining of her post-vaporization. which are. classic sources of DNA .
and we know dan feng went berserk with his dragon form so its plausible he temporarily regained the vidyadharas ancient but currently long lost ability to just go fuck all gene splicing manipulate biology and living tissue. that ability + baiheng DNA remains + the dragon heart is just hmm.
another thing i realized that i didnt yesterday is that bailu being recognized as the next imbibitor lunae even if her powers are lacking implies she Has the dragon heart (bc its like. not just A vidyadhara heart its clearly its own thing and a huge deal with a critical role in the continued high elder reincarnation line and longs legacy being passed down). so like its clear dan feng had to pass the dragon heart down to her reincarnation line at some point but as the vidyadhara couldnt get him to budge on the hearts status in the shackling prison i doubt it was anytime after the sedition. the IL position has been passed down its just that it wasnt done properly.
so like im thinking there might actually be two separate resurrections happening consecutively?
first yingxing who is possibly either dead or dying as dan feng initially arrives already but the initial attempt at resurrection goes horribly wrong and an emanator (?) of abundance appears + the arbor activates and leads to things like the toxic mist explosion described by the vidyadhara eggs that kills a lot of vidyadhara and eggs instantly. potential resurgence/triggered plague of people being infected by mara on the luofu? yx potentially becomes marastruck then despite being short-lived? (also if the emanator is literally shuhu then... yeah adds up w blades talent name)
and if yx now marastruck is on a clock for how long he lasts before permanently losing his self i can see that being when df uses the dragon heart to stop the mara from proceeding further through bruteforcing permanence to overpower yaoshis abundance as the core fueling his immortality - which is the basic principle behind the draught of draconic surge and how vidyadhara bone marrow is already confirmed to interact with mara. & this would prolly be when df loses control of his form? both fighting the emanator and trying to desperately help yx in time
n like the thing the storys a bit unclear on is just at what point yx had already acquired that perfected immortality of abundance + permanence. but like he must have by the time baiheng arrives on the starskiff and sacrifices herself right? bc whatever baiheng brought w her (some say lan, some say a stellaron) clearly vaporized everything in the vicinity and was enough to strike down the emanator and/or at least halt the crisis with the arbor and everything. and regular mara struck dont come back from that whereas blades still kicking
so with the like mara/arbor/emanator of yaoshi portion of the seditions initial lead up done i feel like baihengs arrival is when the Actual sedition (in terms of an armed rebellion) begins? with the vidyadhara confused but many who survived the initial stage still choosing to stand with dan feng and fight against the arriving cloud knights and all the abominations of abundance
so would this be when the 2nd resurrection and baiheng possibly becoming that furry-draconic mutant abomination happens?? and also how the position/power of the IL ends up passed down although not properly to then-mutated-baiheng and eventually-bailu by df using the either damaged or outright incomplete dragon heart (if he put most of it in yingxing) in the process.
so like in this scenario the 'sin' that yingxing and dan feng share might also be the decision to go fuck it we ball mess with life and death and biology even further (as if the mass casualties so far werent enough) and resurrect their fallen comrade as the new high elder line except it comes out wrong and horrible and jingliu has to put that beast down.
this would also explain part of where the somber tone in blades voiceline about dan heng comes from - if he still understands that the motivation behind that 2nd resurrection was at least to make amends in some desperate way when all they had available was baihengs DNA, a damaged dragon heart with dan fengs hidden DLC cas9 crispr vidyadhara powers still accessible to him. like theres nowhere near the pained sympathy and shared guilt that the tone in the dh line conveys when he talks about jingliu or jing yuan in comparison. it has to be more complicated than "he made me immortal. NOT a fan 0/5"
anyway dunno if its just me but this just makes the beloved thing even more confusing. on one hand "turning the beloved into a monstrosity" really lines up with how the xianzhou views the mara-struck and blade views himself as like. a bass boosted mara-struck on steroids who literally cannot die unlike normal mara victims. and "the one who buried the beloved is you" doesnt kinda sound right for baiheng when all she left behind was just enough genetic material for dan fengs terrible horrible awful no-good cooking class - not a lot to bury. also burying the beloved fits blades melodramatic inner dialogue style and tone with how he considers yingxing already dead and strictly uses 3rd person towards his past self. but also its hard to argue that what happened to baiheng IF the transmutation resurrection theory is real doesnt also warrant a match for "monstrosity". like bailus cool now but that first mutation sure wasnt. she got changed species with no say on the matter
the ambiguity is strong enough that a part of me wonders if its on purpose for censorship reasons tbh. (not an expert on this and by no means want to imply any proper familiarity with the subject. so like if this is wildly unrealistic or inaccurate its fully on me, lmk and ill delete) setting up a scenario where all the homoerotic subtext is clearly intentional and solidified around yingxing and dan feng but this specifically explicit romantic word used Could be twisted to apply to baiheng too for plausible deniability. this assuming they dont actually end up pulling a secret het love triangle reveal in the end at us hhhh im still kinda paranoid - ill be sad but also honestly assume their hands were forced if that rly is the case :/
also at this point it should be expected (thanks hoyo) but EN tl has inaccuracies and if sth i say here doesnt add up with what EN text suggests its prolly bc ive taken into account some of the commentary on the accuracy on reddit. too lazy to list all specifics but ask if sth pops out at u
anyway im so drained this is all killing me . What happened. yingxing. dan feng. what did you Do.

Ancient Draconic Enemies
As a whole, and outside of singular Realms, the dragon species has only had two groups of enemies. The Mu and the Astral Demons.
The Mu have long since been considered to be a non-issue, ever since they decided to kill, capture, or otherwise betray The Five. The Astral Demons, however, are very much still around.
The Mu was an ancient civilization that possessed five Made Gods, each one ended at least a single Realm single-handedly, while together, they conquered dozens. They are single-handedly responsible for the resurgence of Humanity around the multiverse, however, that was thousands of years ago. Since then, Humans have diminished due to extreme evolutionary, societal, and cultural pressures.
Izziks Xiksal, The Realm Scourge
Credit: Robson Michel
Words: Entropy, Fate, Luck, Time, Space
Powerset: Despite the number of words possessed, he has manipulated them to have dozens of other gifts from words. For example, Stronger than You from Might uses the Entropy word, and Swifter than the Sun from Alacrity uses the Time word as two examples.
He controls the fundamental forces of the universe and is single-handedly responsible for the destruction of at least nine entire Realms. Thought to have been killed, he was only imprisoned and has in fact been released by a naive group of Godbound. Due to his capture and containment, he now is missing an eye and has a scarred face, something he hates being pointed out. He has spent his freedom inspecting the further damage that has been done to reality and slaughtering any angel that happened to interrupt him and his work. He believes that reality is stable enough, but only one realm is not enough to keep everything together for good, so he plans to soon build more Celestial Machines in other Realms.
Serenity, The Mindeater
Credit: Ryan Bittner
Words: Command, Deception, Desire, Fear, Madness, Night
Powerset: She uses her powers to manipulate what appears to be reality for those unfortunate enough to be near her.
Serenity changes reality, or at least the perception of it, in her victims. Dismantling the minds of those necessary to dismantle and retaining extreme lucidity in others to cause chaos. She pushes the right levers and then the world will destroy themselves. Like the others, she has been trapped within a standing glass, trapped as a 2nd-dimensional plane standing in the middle of a desert, a compressed space.
Mofin Dall, The Enslaver
Credit: Ryan Bittner
Words: Beast, Command, Death, Lich King, War, Wealth
Powerset: They excel in forming armies in a new Realm and subsuming entire nations with them. Taking beasts, undead, and even a nation's own military.
Mofin Dall was responsible to maintaining hold of the Realms conquered, which caused the Mu to fear it more than many of the others. They tried and technically succeeded in killing them multiple times, however, due to their well-hidden Phylactery, all they could do was take them apart piece by piece and scatter them across the Realms, not killing them but neutralizing them entirely.
Koban, The Realm Manifest
Credit: Shadowverse
Words: Desert, Earth, Fire, Night, Sea, Sky, Sun, Underworld, Winter
Powerset: Capable of controlling the 'elements', she tends to animate lesser elementals, natural phenomena, and the very environment itself. She is not against simply beating someone down with her fists, however.
Koban's main function was to terraform inhospitable Realms, capable of forming, shattering, or drowning continents themselves. Her entrapment was only done after sacrificing an entire Realm to her, the planet lost and shattered. Though, unlike the others who possessed true prisons, her prison was merely isolation, cut off from the rest of the multiverse as they closed their Nightports. Unfortunately for the Mu, the Night Roads will eventually occur naturally, and so, she has gained access to other realms, sending out handfuls of individuals to other realms simply because she can.
youtube
Murder, The Slayer
Credit: Dominik Dejanović
Words: War
Powerset: Although only possessing one word technically, he acts as if he as other certain words, such as Murder, Endurance, Bow, Sword, Health, Might, Alacrity, and other such words.
A battle maniac, Murder was there to crush any divinities the Mu encountered or to wipe out armies while Mofin Dall wasn't present. Murder's imprisonment wasn't difficult, strangely enough, he was convinced to allow his essence to imbue a blade. Though, after all these millennia of lacking conflict, he's grown to resent the prison and seeks escape.

Amaterasu
NAME/ALIASES. UTP AGE & BIRTH DATE. Prehistoric & Unknown SPECIES. Aspect GENDER & PRONOUNS. Female & She/Her or She/They AFFILIATIONS. UTP OCCUPATION. UTP
History
The first daughter of blood, Amaterasu once stood among the Seldarine in an age before Araushnee’s ascension; at the height of the elve’s power while aasimar were steadfast generals and allies. A patron of the Dusk Elves, Amaterasu’s domain was under the light of day, though she was at her most powerful in those final moments when the sun began to fall over the horizon. A sister of Sehanine Moonbow, they along with their brother were a precious three that controlled much of the skies in the elves’ early age of antiquity. A warrior of great renown, she stood the equal of any other among the Seldarine in terms of power; in her youth she warred alongside the others as they battled against the draconic forces of The Great Old Ones in order to claim Faerûn. In what would become known as the Last Battle, the man that raised Amaterasu like she was his own daughter was slain, Lathander of the Dawnstone, King of the elves fell and the great weapon of the elves was fractured. While there were many more conflicts still ahead, this fight was regarded throughout the elves’ ancient history as the moment that would change the course of their history forever.
Still only a child, Amaterasu ascended alongside the others of the Seldarine into Godhood, the pretender King Corellon Larethian stood in place of Amaterasu’s father. Amaterasu left, she wandered from the realms of daylight and traversed deeper into the Underdark than any had gone, with every step she brought the burning day, accompanied by her personal attendants of Dusk, they brought with them blooming fungal rot of decay and rot. It was here that she consecrated a pact with Nyarlathotep himself, vampiric and draconic, Amaterasu would not let any King hold power over her, and so with the God’s blood she brought about her own ascension. The first of the sanguine elves, Amaterasu alone had the power to give the gift and also take it away. Blood elves revered her as a Goddess, a former member of the Seldarine, the first to rebel, she sparked the rot and flames that ate away at an empire. In the realm of mortals she was a patron of the daylight, her court emptied save for just a few loyalists, but with the resurgence of the elves Amaterasu has chosen to throw down the pretender children of Nyarlathotep, cleanse the world of their faulty bloodlines, and replace them instead with the will of the elves.
Connections
Pluto: Progenitor of the Pluto bloodline, Amaterasu is resolved to kill him and absorb his bloodline into her own.
Juno: Progenitor of the Juno bloodline, Amaterasu is resolved to kill her and absorb her bloodline into her own.
Horus: Warriors of Arvandor, Horus was something of an older brother to Amaterasu in the days before her departure from the Seldarine.
Heimdall: The sentinel and watchguard, Heimdall observed Amaterasu's antics within the Underdark but did nothing to stop the woman he'd grown up with.
Abilities
Mystic: An elven goddess trained by mystics, Amaterasu is able to use the power of the sun to cast a variety of spells.
Day Manipulation: Amaterasu can shift the position of the sun and control the time of day.
Immortal: Ageless and a goddess, Amaterasu is immune to most diseases and resistant to magic.
Blood: Able to cure vampires and make them human once more with her blood, additionally she can enact pacts through blood for a variety of effects.
Weaknesses
Dusk: While at her strongest at Dusk, Amaterasu's magic is at the weakest during the dawn and grows throughout the day while weakening throughout the night.
Elven: Incapable of telling lies.
Seraph: A seraph blade through the heart will kill her and send her into Uthenera.
Daylight: Can only shift the day for a period of twenty-four hours, after which she cannot use the ability again for another day.
THIS SKELETON IS CURRENTLY OPEN.

Having a dragonmark which gives prophecy lines and also receiving visions can be a bit involved.
THEIR DRAGONMARK'S BEHAVIOR
M-44-7's aberrant dragonmark tends to act up: smoking, audibly hissing, glowing bright red, even starting to catch fire in pieces set after the fire man fight, and/or relaying pieces of the draconic prophecy. The way the draconic prophecy works is any line could refer to any event until it actually takes place, so The Overlords, The Dragons of Argonesson, Undying Court, and perhaps even the Daelkyr are working to manipulate it to meet their goals. The bits of prophecy they've recieved in-game and my own speculations on their meanings are below.
“If flame made flesh should fall that day then the lost child a price must pay, for those that see that which cannot be shall be" Flame made flesh likely refers to the fire man. M-44-7 received this prophecy piece before the party first encountered and failed to kill the fire man, though they did knock the fire man deep into Khyber. Perhaps the falling was literal and not referring to death.
¨Cut down by the blade of sorrows wielded by the resurgent eye the third child of the dagger falls“ The resurgent eye might be the eye thief, but the blade of sorrows is mentioned in another prophecy bit and is the fire sword which nearly killed Carn, if it is in fact the same blade.
“A thousand eyes open when the shield is shattered.” The thousand eyes might refer to Belashyrra, the eyes opening might be about the party catching its notice.
“the child of devastation ignites when kin falls to the blade of sorrows” This prophecy has clearly come to pass. When Carn was struck down by the fire sword in The Ironlands, M-44-7's aberrant dragonmark lit on fire for the first time, burning away their gear cape (RIP gear cape).
“the burning mind finds its way out of the forest of blades” The forest of blades might refer to The Ironlands, and the burning mind may be the fire man, as attempts to read its mind dealt fire damage.
“The twisted legion is at the gates of the glass citadel. The burning prophet rallies the old and creates the new. The devastation cracks its bonds” The meaning of this one is fully up in the air. It's difficult to even guess.
“with burning flame and bright steel the twisted mad soul is cast out of the corrupted shattered ruin and to the gates of death¨ This line likely refers to when the party killed the ghost of The Lady of Plague when they went to Old Sharn to retrieve her dragonmark focus item to study.
"A smith marked by secret and flame in a lost land where inferno rises creates the chains to rebind the breaking seal." This is likely about M-44-7 binding Carsalak.
They've also received prophecy pieces from other sources.
¨Two minds made to contain maddened flame in shattered binders´ land meet. Forged by 5 to bind the curse so that the one may do so again.¨ This line was given to them by Lucille of Thaliost, a cultist of Sul Khatesh who is trying to direct the party's movements. She claimed that this line was given to her by Sul Khatesh and means that M-44-7 and their party must go to Xendrik, the shattered binders' land.
M-44-7'S VISIONS
The source of their visions is unclear, but sometimes, at first during sentry's rest and later when they're fully active, M-44-7 receives visions which hint at the future. The visions likely come from Sul Khatesh, since she has appeared in several of them.
A flame sweeping out of the Mournland and burning the land to barren nothingness. The flame speaks it says “all will fall and time will die when the greatest madness breaks the veil” its voice sounds like Carn’s but distorted and crackling. After this vision comes another vision some magical device, Sul Khatesh looking on approvingly.
the fire through the door its still screaming in ravenous hunger
Sul Khatesh holding a spellshard, a collage of scenes then play on the shard. You see a Khyber shard burning with inner flame being broken next to Jardun. You see Jardun Boromar finding other members afflicted with mindflame as well as afflicted members of Daask and plotting the situation in Lower Dura. Sul Khatesh looks right at you points at the spellshard and does a slit throat motion with one of her shadowy fingers.
They see themself going mad in one future which includes them accidentally killing eyes. In the other they see themselves reaching out to the aberrant marked of House Tarkanan making focus items and keeping their mark controlled. They then see themself at the head of a small army of warforged cloaked in fire and with a crown of twisted iron screaming a speech about alien corruption and how the forthcoming doom of growth or inferno most be stopped in its tracks. Behind them is a strange massively complicated eldritch machine skittering on spider legs and the shifting form of the schematics clicks for a second but it so dizzyingly complicated that M-44-7 can barely conceive of building it. Sul Khatesh for the first time speaks and says a single word "Decide"

More of AFO’s draconic form from my dragon AU thingie. :3
I also wrote a small bit of text underneath to go with this pic, and it becomes pretty easy to see why Dad for One didn’t left Izuku being quirkless in this, despite what have happened with his brother centuries ago.
“Occasionally, rumors and stories about the existence of an obscure obsidian dragon surfaced.
Rumors about an ancient being, older than any creature that would naturally occur and traversing the ages unbothered by time; faceless demon stripping fellow dragons from their powers.
It sounded perfectly unbelievable to this day and age, probably the resurgence of a mere fairy tale to teach young humans children to respect and fear dragons, and young draconics to behave and listen to their elders who knew better.
A reasonable creature could only scoff at such fable and brush it off.
Yet, behind their proud masks and obvious shrugs, most dragons shuddered thinking about the existence of such cryptic being, as most stories like this one had some bits of truth hidden.
As dragons didn’t only held a tight grip on their hoard and valued honor and strength above most things; their powers were fundamental parts of who they were, where they placed on the grid of hierarchy. Their powers were the manifestation of their very souls.
For a dragon without a spark was not a real dragon, it wasn’t even half blood or a human, it was less than that. It was frowned upon by all, forsaken by the gods themselves.
It was soulless.
And that is why tales about that monster, the devourer of souls, instigated such primal fear in all draconics who heard about it.”

Demon Lord, Haagenti
Image © Paizo Publishing, by Sally Gottschalk. Accessed at her website here
[Commissioned by @tar-baphon. This may be the single longest monster I’ve written. Part of the problem was that I had my own ideas for Haagenti’s abilities, but I also needed to incorporate the canon Pathfinder material from Book of the Damned. So if this Haagenti is too lengthy or complicated for your tastes, cut the extracts and the internal alchemy ability. If you do, bump his AC to a more respectable-for-the-CR AC 47. I gave him a lower AC with the assumption that he would boost it on the first round of combat with shield, barkskin or both.]
Demon Lord, Haagenti CR 29 CE Outsider This creature is the epitome of a fiend, appearing as a massive bull-like humanoid with leathery wings and golden horns. Wisps of foul vapor emerge from his nose and mouth.
Haagenti, The Whisper Within CE male demon lord of alchemy, invention and transformation Domains Artifice, Chaos, Evil, Strength Subdomains Construct, Demon, Resolve, Toil Favored Weapon battleaxe Unholy Symbol image of the philosopher’s stone Worshipers alchemists, drow, transmuters Minions fleshwarped creatures, golems, retrievers For information on his Obedience and boons for his worshipers, see Book of the Damned
Haagenti, the Whisper Within, seems on first glance to be among the more enlightened and beneficial demon lords. He is patron of alchemy and invention, and by his tutelage many wondrous inventions have entered the world. But Haagenti chooses his battles carefully, and bestows his knowledge and devices to people he knows will use them to harm others, destabilize societies and overall spread misery and ruin. He is the originator of the philosopher’s stone, and by its use has ruined economies and returned villains from the grave.
Haagenti is a master of disguise, and enjoys experimenting with new shapes as a debutante tries on clothing. He always includes some clue to his true identity by incorporating some monstrous feature, although he may hide these or “accidentally” reveal them as he sees fit. This mastery of shapes applies to his battle tactics as well. Not only does he frequently change form in order to use new abilities, he also delights in transforming his opponents. He has mastered various types of transmutation magic, and his very breath turns creatures into warped parodies of themselves, in excruciating pain unless they obey his commands. Haagenti can transform his own blood, bile and bones into alchemical extracts, enhancing his own abilities or decanting them as boons to his minions and servitors.
The layer of the Abyss in which Haagenti dwells is known as Cerebulim. It is a seemingly endless laboratory, filled with libraries, menageries, workshops and galleries. It is also filled with secret passages and traps, and Haagenti can reshape its corridors and rooms at will from several carefully hidden control centers. Those that seek knowledge or a powerful tool here are subject to Haagenti’s cruel whims, and few of them escape unchanged in mind and body.

Mutagenic Breath (Su) Three times per day as a standard action, Haagenti can breathe transformative vapor in a 40 foot cone. All creatures in the area that succeed a DC 39 Fortitude save are staggered for 1d4+1 rounds. A creature that fails gains the fleshwarped simple template and suffers from intense pain, taking a -4 penalty to all attack rolls, damage rolls, skill checks, saving throws and ability checks. This pain is alleviated for 24 hours when the creature obeys Haagenti’s orders, otherwise it is permanent. This effect can be removed only with a greater restoration, miracle or wish. A creature that succeeds its saving throw is immune to the mutagenic breath of Haagenti for the next 24 hours. This is a pain, polymorph effect, and the save DC is Charisma based. Penetrating Gore (Su) Haagenti’s gore attack overcomes all damage reduction and hardness. Ultimate Craftsman (Ex/Su) Haagenti can make any magical or technological item, as if he possessed all crafting feats. Haagenti takes 1 day to craft an item per 10,000 gp of cost, and can create any mundane alchemical item as a standard action. In addition, once per week, Haagenti may spend one hour to create a philosopher’s stone.

For instance, my fun-loving, Adrenalin junkie C:tD Sidhe Knight with Dragon’s Ire, 5/5 Melee/ 4/5 Brawl/ 4/5 Athletics, 7/5 Appearance, Overconfidence flaw, Curiosity flaw, Impatience Flaw, and a House Boon that says she literally can only feel fear when a person she loves is threatened?
So, so much going to steal from the Telluric/ Draconic / Flamesiren kiths in C:tL for flavor. The beauty of a burning star, the wrath of a dragon.
As for Mantle... at first glance, she’s very much a late-spring to early summer sort of character. Spring Court of course being growth, renewal, desire, romance, etc, while Summer Court is wrath, challenge, strength, champions and defenders. Her (Changeling) surname is literally Summerstar.
But if I’m going all the way and adding a resurgence of “Lesser” fae courts in the wake of the crumbling of political power in the Seelie and Unseelie courts...
she might also fit into Dawn?
She might flit around all three for the majority of...whatever the fuck it is I’m planning out right now.
This character is such the antithesis of me, and she’s such fun to write every time, because she’s so wonderfully callous (in over the top, Fae-typical ways... but not when *in love*) and noble and reckless and openly-feeling.

Atropos, The Great Water Dragon, Protector of Humankind and Goddess of the Seas and the Arts.
In modern day civilization of the Mortal Plain Nornir, Atropos is hailed as a goddess, worshiped as a protector of humans. Most of what they know is of accounts told by the humans who followed her; most on her role of aiding the humans in achieving freedom from the control of dragon rule. Yet anything substantial of her personality or most of her actions beyond this remains lost to time.
okay so i redid this and it took me like over a wee k. the picture was cut because of resizing stuff bc i may made this pic a lot bigger than i originally thought? oh well
Other Characters of the War of Twelve;
- (old) Sawsan
- (old) Atropos
- Himiko
- Many millennia before the War of Twelve, a prophecy was foretold by the Elders of the Seven Clans that the birth of a child born between clans would signal the end of dragonkind. This descent would be marked with a resurgence in degeneration, reducing what dragons who were not killed during the fall of the dragons' reign to be left naught but mindless beasts that would be rendered servants of the species that rose to take the dragons’ place.
-Fearful and desperate to prevent the prophecy from coming true, the seven dragon clans apart of the Council at the time adopted isolationist policies, forbidding mating or even interaction outside one's own clan beyond special occasions. Often, those who were still born between tribes met short, tragic lives, as they would be killed and their parents would be lucky if they were exiled, instead of executed themselves. Only every hundred years would the elders and chieftains of each clan meet on the Isle of Notre Sagesse during the Hundred Year Summit, and with every meeting their relationships growing further brittle. Eventually, the Dusk Clan was cast out of the Council after attempting to take complete control and banished to the swamps only they could inhabit.
- Atropos's mother was the favored daughter of the Water Clan chieftain's best friend, and was held in high regard by the chieftain and the Water Clan as a whole. She was eventually married to a soldier, the marriage arranged by their parents. However, her husband passed away soon after their marriage, being killed in battle, and Atropos was only born out of pure luck.
-Her mother later on fell in love with an Astral Dragon she had met at the Hundred Year Summit. The two began frequently meeting together in secret, until they were eventually caught meeting together. In the heat of the moment had to escape, leaving Atropos behind.
-Due to high profile of the scandal, the two were hunted down and, when she refused to abandon her lover, the two of them were killed. This scandal ruined her daughter's reputation, and while she was not treated cruelly, Atropos still was often isolated and kept away from others by her maternal grandfather in shame of the scandal. She grew up watching others and grew bitter of her lonely life and cynical of the very system that led her to living such a life.
-In her adulthood, she took the role as a guard of the clan, the same role her father once held. This position led her meeting her later on life-long companion, the person who is now only known as the Rainbow Sage.
-Being half-human, the Rainbow Sage wandered the world as he had no home among dragon clans, but outliving any of the human tribes he grew to knew. Eventually he wander too close to the settlement of the Water Clan and was taken in by suspicious guards. Atropos was assigned the duty of interrogating him and during the time she saw their shared skepticism and growing bitterness to the system. She released him, saying he was harmless, and he was allowed to remain as a guest and visitor. The two quickly developed a friendship together for better or for worse.
-Eventually, the two met more like minded individuals who were dissatisfied with the current society in one way or another. Their ideas fed off each other and a underground community was founded, one that planned to tear the society and it’s flaws down, no matter the costs.
-One fateful year, the Storm Clan experienced a two terrible tragedies, first a famine that drained them of financial resources and human tribe allies, then a plague that wiped out two thirds of their population. The Rainbow Sage pointed out the perfect opportunity to finally spark the fuse by leaving enough evidence to point any number of clans for a massacre. Their allies agreed.
-In the dead of the night, the Storm Clan and their few remaining human followers were slaughtered, barely given any chance to defend themselves before it was over. Weeks passed and when a neighboring Clan, the Wind Clan, realizing the silence they petitioned the Council to send someone to check up on them. Atropos and a select few others were sent to do the job.
-There they found only one survivor, a young Storm Dragon who was delirious and nearly incoherent. He mumbled something about the Dawn Clan, before fainting. While he survived, he was unable to recall anything about the day or the days preceding it and left with no other leads, the Council took the easy answer and declared the rogue Dawn Clan responsible for the massacre.
-Not recognized as a legitimate clan, the Dawn Clan had no chance of defending themselves, and the Council deemed them having been allowed to fester too long. In retribution for the perceived crime, the same crime would be done unto them. The Dawn Clan was massacred by a army of the Six Clan’s warriors. They stood no chance and in a day’s time, they were all murdered. All but one, a young dragon who had gone on her pilgrimage and in her absence had been able to survive.
-Her situation garnered the sympathy and vitriol of many other fringe clans, human tribes, and even other shapeshifters. Soon enough, the surviving Dawn Dragon had an army rallied behind her large enough to challenge the might of the council.
-The six clans at first rallied together to fight against the army, but their millennia apart had rotted the trust between the clans. Soon infighting broke out, and corrupt officials all saw their chances in attempting to seize absolute control of the Council. The Six Clans fractured and turned against each other, the true meaning of the war lost. So began the War of Twelve, named after the twelve prominent draconic leaders during the end of the war emerged.
-Atropos herself managed to turn dissent against the clans chieftain, making them believe it was he who had drug the clan into the war in the first place instead of upholding their millennia long relative solitude. Gathering her supporters, she overthrew the chieftain and his supporters and gained the clan’s absolute trust and hope. This leadership would not last long, as soon her clan members began to be taken by the dragon madness, as prophesied.
-This did not bother Atropos any, however, as she had turned her hope of a better future from her own people onto the race of humans that followed them. She convinced the Rainbow Sage to stand by her in aiding the humans gain control, and so a new plan was born.
-Using their own human followers, they slowly spread to the human tribes who had at this point been born into the time of the war and knew nothing else, that Atropos and the Rainbow Sage promised to help them. Many humans had already began to question why they fought for beings who were mentally deteriorating into madness, and decided to send people to what become Notre Sagesse to hear the two out.
-There the two told of a way to gain an upper hand on the dragons and put an end to the war. All the humans needed to do was bring their dragon leaders’ dragonstones to the Rainbow Sage, and he would craft weapons that easily fell any being even as mighty as a dragon.
-Atropos herself noticed a young man who was unsure of what to do, not wanting to strike down the dragon he had come to consider as family and so she told the group of another way if the so wished, instead of killing them they could use the weapons as focal points to seal the dragons away so they would no longer be a threat.
-The humans left and four tribes returned, bringing forth the stones of their dragons and the four sacred weapons were crafted. Longafter this faithful moment, another weapon was forged this time from the remains of the stones, the blade Yato, that could only be wielded by one possessing the blood of dragon’s themself.
-As her fellow dragons fell either to the human’s or to their own insanity, Atropos remained undeterred. With her and her companion’s aid, the humans had gained the upper hand and soon took the place of the dragons. Yet, Atropos was not able to relish in her chosen blood bonded champion’s victory, as one dragon yer remained, the Storm Dragon.
-Having learned of her treachery from his dying friend the Wind Dragon, he sought out Atropos for vengeance. The two battle and while Atropos emerged victorious, it was not without a victory of the Storm Dragon’s own. He had managed to land a fatal blow on Atropos and she was left dying as well. In her final moments, she gathered her bleeding and broken body and wandered into the sea, never to be seen again.
-The only one left remaining after the war was the humans she championed and her companion, the Rainbow Sage. The human Cleo from the bloodline that Atropos bonded with wrote down the chronicles of the War of Twelve and founded the Cult of Atropos and the nation of Nestra in Atropos’s memory.
-The Rainbow Sage afterwards isolated himself onto the island of Notre Sagesse, and when asked on the matter of Atropos never answers.
Atropos’s appearance was inspired by the caryatid statues, especially this one that i used for reference for her hair and the folding of her clothing in this picture which should be.... pretty obvious.... This is a good ref to get a good idea of what her hair is styled as.The back of her head would more or less resemble this. The dragon form on the vase is based on depictions such as this and this. Anyway, I just wanted to add this here so I could credit my resources since i relied on them rather heavily in this picture.
Please tell me if i used a word incorrectly or wrote a sentence wrong and such. Also feel free to ask about her or any of my ocs if you wish, I don’t mind.

1. Lorwyn/Shadowmoor - I love the aesthetic and adventurousness of the world. I would also love to see how have the denizens of the world adjusted to the new rhythm of the twin worlds, or perhaps see the world split between them.
2. Fiora - there's so much of the world unexplored, and the flavor of conspiracy and politics makes for unique topdown designs.
3. Theros - the story of the original theros block still stands as my favorite to date. I want to catch up with elspeth and the seeds of ajani's heresy against the gods. Also, I'd love to see another attempt at the enchantment themes which weren't pursued as much as they could have been.
4. Alara - there hasn't been much representation for the shards lately, and I'd love to see how the world has adjusted.
5. Tarkir - the events with yasova left me pumped to see a proper resurgence of the clans fighting back against their draconic overlords. Also I love sarkhan.
Inquiring Minds Want To Know - Planes to Visit in the Future
In today’s information gathering, I’m interested to hear what planes you want to visit in an upcoming Standard-legal set. Here’s how I would like you to respond. Please list, in order, your favorites from one up to five. You can list less than five, but please restrict yourself to five answers. Number 1 should be the plane you most want to see us visit in the future.
If you’re interested you may also tell me why you want to return to that plane. You can list any known plane including ones we’ve never visited before. I need names of existing planes though and not “wild west plane”.
Here’s an example:
1. Innistrad - It’s my favorite plane
2. Fiora - I love Conspiracy and would like to see Fiora in a Standard-legal set.
3. Tarkir - Go back, but there better be clans.
4. Rath - I don’t know how you’d do it, but I’d love it.
5. Alara - More Esper please.
I would love to get a lot of data, so please pass this along to your Magic friends to answer as well.
Please number your answers as the data will be weighted. I will count them in the order listed if you don’t number them. Please don’t list the same plane more than once.
