Do you have a care routine you follow for your wings?
I mean, I'd love to tell you that there was some sort of magical ritual: perhaps glowing runes written in the air, stardust coating my gauzy wings and then evanescing in the clear pale light of the full moon, or I step into a cloud of nightingale song and emerge the other side glistening. Or perhaps that there was a mystical brook or pool, deep in the forest primeval, guarded by panthers and mountain lions and, and, uh... one of those other big cats. Pumas! That's it. Guarded by pumas. From the mossy side of the clear sweet water, I'd step in gracefully. Then a bunch of stuff would happen and you don't need to know about it because I'd be nude but it would look like a Maxfield Parrish painting, I'm sure. With tattoos. I'd like to tell you all that, but the truth is that I take a shower, but I have to be quick because the super (yes, fairies have supers) won't fix the goddamn hot water heater so after four minutes it's like diving into the Bering Strait. And I prefer Dr. Bronner's if we're talking soap. Peppermint if I can find it. You don't need a bunch of extra crap in there because that's where you get your wings gunked up. Then I buzz my wings for a bit and that usually dries em off. All this "don''t get a fairy's wings wet" stuff is some horsedootz. I'm not going scuba diving any time soon but we've been around for a good long time (longer than people, in any case) and we've been in plenty of rainstorms. Flying is a pain in the ass in the rain but it can be done. We got other ways to get where we need to go. Some of us just take the bus. Whatever works.

Fun fact
Tumblr media
Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Pure-Castile Soap is the only soap on the American market that is considered safe to use as a cleaning product for sex toys. It hits all the boxes for being a recommended toy cleaner product in the European Union, which is basically the only government in the world that regulates sex products
it's one of the only ones that you can use in the grand canyon because it biodegrades or something
don’t ever try washing your hair with it tho

DIY Cleaning Products 101
Personally I don't love the ingredients in most conventional cleaning products. They generally have artificial fragrance and other endocrine disrupters and things you don't really want to be breathing in. For the last year I have been making most of my own cleaning products and in addition to being healthier, I've noticed I save money doing this as well. I want to share some of my favorite recipes for cleaning products, but there are definitely things you need to know about the different ingredients first so I'm sharing this first.
Vinegar- Vinegar is an amazing all purpose cleaner for tables, counters, any surfaces that aren't natural stone like marble or granite. I also love using it for washing produce and replacing fabric softener (no your fruit won't taste like vinegar and your clothes won't smell like it). It can effectively remove some pesticide residue, as well as help the produce last longer. Some recipes you find online recommend mixing vinegar with baking soda or castile soap-neither of these should be mixed with vinegar. Both baking soda and castile soap have a basic pH, while vinegar is acidic. Mixing baking soda and vinegar makes a cool chemical reaction, but you're left with fancy salt water. Mixing it with castile soap basically unsaponifies the soap, making it completely useless as well. If you want to add some scent to your vinegar you can add citrus peels or pine needles to it and let them sit for a few weeks before straining. NEVER mix vinegar with bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Vinegar and bleach makes chlorine gas, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide makes peracetic acid. Both of these are extremely dangerous.
Baking Soda- Baking soda is a great abrasive for scrubbing, and a great deodorizer. I use baking soda on my glass top stove, scrubbing my toilets, scrubbing the shower, anywhere I need extra scrubbing help. As I mentioned before it shouldn't be mixed with vinegar because they cancel each other out. I do like using it with castile soap for bathroom cleaning though.
Castile soap- Castile soap has soooo many uses. If you've ever looked at a bottle of Dr Bronner's you've seen the huge list of things they recommend it for. It shouldn't be mixed with vinegar, but castile soap can leave behind some soap scum if you have hard water so rinsing with a vinegar/water mix after use is often recommended. I like using it in the bathroom as well as dish and hand soap (I wouldn't put this in your dishwasher though, hand washing only with this).
70% Isopropyl Alcohol- Also known as rubbing alcohol, 70% isopropyl alcohol is a great disinfectant. When using it you need to make sure you're using 70%. This is a standard dilution you can get at the store, but many people don't realize how important the dilution percentage is. If you mix it with water there won't be enough alcohol to disinfect, and if you use higher than 70% there's too much alcohol and it will evaporate before it can do it's job. I use this all over my house from the kitchen, to the bathroom, to disinfecting my nail supplies after doing an at home manicure. It also works amazingly as a glass cleaner.
Hydrogen Peroxide- Hydrogen peroxide is another great disinfectant, but it's not one I personally use as much. I keep it in my cleaning closet in case I want it for something, but unlike alcohol it needs to be wiped away after sitting for a bit.

Ok I have a question , but first I will like to say your blog is the best one I have ever seen ❤️❤️your like a big sister giving advice, so i have a question, how can I get my 🐱 and 🍑 soft ? And how can I keep them both fresh and smelling good. It embarrassing to say this but I just need help, when I asked some family members they turn they face up and act like they never smelt before, so I just need help atp.
Aww thank you so much! As an esthetician this question is right up my ally as kitty care is my specialization. 🐈‍⬛🎀
How to keep your kitty + peach soft:
Go in for a Brazilian or Bikini wax. This is a great way to get rid of any unwanted hair and can help prevent ingrown hairs as well. If pain is something that worries you try sugaring instead! It is recommended to get a wax every 3-4 weeks when the hair is about the size of a grain of rice.
Invest in a vagacial or booty facial. These are a great way to keep both areas soft, smooth and free of hyperpigmentation. This can be done once a month but can also be done every 15 days depending on the skin type and skin concerns for that area.
If you choose to shave make sure you are using a good + clean razor. Razors should be changed out every 5-7 shaves! Shave against the grain of your hair for the best results!
Laser hair removal is another option. Note that laser hair removal does not get rid of hair growth permanently but it does slow the rate of your hair growth tremendously. Electrolysis is the only method to completely remove any unwanted hair.
I use the Peach & Lily KP Bump Boss as a way to keep my skin extra soft and smooth. I only use this on the Mona Pubis area and do not use it on any other sensitive areas of the kitty.
Use Fur Professional products! Their line is used by many estheticians including myself for both intimate areas of the body.
Cleaning 101:
Your kitty cleans itself regularly which is why some people only clean theirs by rinsing with water. If you choose to use a soap I recommend Dove’s Unscented Body Soap or Dr. Bronner’s Pure Unscented Castile Liquid Soap. Remember to only wash your Mona Pubis + Outer Labia area and avoid getting soap on sensitive areas.
Summer’s Eve products should only be used to restore your pH and to provide temporary relief for minor irritation or itching.
Remember all kitty’s have a certain scent that many describe to be like a bread scent. If the smell is strong, continues to worsen or begins to cause pain and itching please contact a health care provider!!!!

explain the soap
I assume you mean Dr Bronner's Pure-Castile Liquid Soap.
Ok, so this shit is THE traditional backpacker's soap. It has 18 uses and then some: face cleanser, bodywash, shampoo, bath soap, shaving cream, toothpaste, decongestant, foot bath, dishwasher fluid, laundry detergent, mopping liquid, cleaning spray, window cleaner, toilet cleaner, produce wash, dog shampoo, plant spray, and bug spray.
It's also the soap I use when I'm not using Hartz Ultraguard shampoo. (The only time I actually use Hartz is when I've been in the bush and get worried about ticks on me.) I buy the 3.78L eucalyptus jug and use it for bodywash, shampoo, dish soap, laundry, and dog shampoo. It tastes terrible (though there is a peppermint flavour) so I don't use it for toothpaste.
Tumblr media
And it's biodegradable! That said you can't use it directly in water. I collect water from a water source in a bucket and then I walk 200m from the source of the water and bathe with a sponge so it doesn't leech into the water (no soap, biodegradable/eco friendly or not, should be used at a water source--you need to be 200yd/185m from the water source AT LEAST). Really I typically just use the shower in Matilda since she's got an outdoor shower.
Anyway. Best soap on the planet. I use it for everything.

any tips for hair care and skincare?
japanese and korean skincare for me personally. but it’s rly rly hard to recommend bc what works best for me, not might work for u. i know for me i have somewhat oily/to dry skin. parts of my face are oily like my Tzone, while the rest sits dry. i use joseon korean fermented rice mask and serum. but i think ill try their ginseng serum next, just because i think ive aged out of this skincare and want to further into something more hydrating for my age and lifestyle. i also sleep with a silk pillowcase with a copper/organic pillow. i use dr bronners castile soap and tehehehhh i splurged on myself at the beginning of summer and got trader joe’s brazil nut line, so the scrub, body wash, and oil. i like it. i use that or will use soldejanrio brazilian oil. sooo nice.
i also use a natural plant loofah i got at the farmers market. i use one as a dry brush and the other as a scrubberrrrrr.
i like japanese skincare too. also my diet is very pure and clean. i limit sugar (this might make a difference, might not) i don’t eat any fast food, ever. i don’t drink soda. i will have an occasional poppi. i drink red clover tea, parsley, and damiana and i think this cleanses my skin greatly.

Alternative and DIY non-toxic toilet bowl cleaners and disinfectants
"Although DIY-ing your toilet bowl cleaner won’t put a surprising amount of money back in your pocket with every batch, it will provide a safe and natural solution for stains at a reasonable price. [...] DIY toilet bowl cleaner is safer for you to use and friendlier to nature when it eventually finds its way back into the environment than most toilet bowl cleaning products. That said, homemade cleaners can still be hazardous to your health if you don’t take commonsense precautions to protect your eyes and skin when mixing or using them. Wear gloves and safety glasses or goggles when mixing your batch of toilet bowl cleaner, and be sure to store any extra cleaner in a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, out of the reach of children."
Author's tips for using this recipe:
"Disinfect the brush. [...] After use, soak it in vinegar overnight to kill any bacteria lurking in its bristles".
"[...] Disinfect [the toilet tank] by pouring a cup of your homemade cleaner [...] letting it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and then flushing several times."
"[...] If you have stubborn hard water stains that won’t come off with a standard cleaning, you can use a pumice stone to scrub them clean."
"[...] One thing I usually recommend as a way to save money and have to worry about less ingredients is to just use less products. You don’t need a separate cleaner for your toilet… You can just use a safe all-purpose or bathroom cleaner! That said, I know that some folks just prefer to use separate cleaners for their toilet [...] That’s why I’ve included some recommendations for those below as well. 👍"
"[...] Some ingredients commonly used in toilet bowl cleaners you’ll want to avoid when possible include: Ammonia, Antibacterials (including “quats” and things that end in “cide,” which are usually pesticides), Bleach, Fatty alcohols (This is common in conventional toilet bowl drop-in tablets and the automatic tablets you hook on the side of the bowl, which is part of what makes many drop-in toilet bowl cleaners unsafe.), Formaldhyde releasers (such as methenamine), Hydrochloric acid (which is different than hypochlorous acid), PEGs & other ethoxylated ingredients, Undisclosed “fragrance“, Unnecessary dyes (like the ones that turn your toilet water blue)"
Author's note against excessive anti-bacterial usage in bathroom cleaning:
"One of the biggest problems with antibacterials and disinfectants is that they contribute to antibiotic resistance. This is become a serious problem that leads to millions of deaths each year. Depending on the specific ingredient, other problems associated with antibacterials in general include aquatic toxicity, microbiome disruption, endocrine disruption, reproductive harm, cancer, asthma, and skin/respiratory irritation."
The author then lists brands to try that offer eco friendly cleaning products along with reasonable pros and cons of each product. The brands include:
Tumblr media
The DIY recipe
"This recipe comes from Julie Eigenmann! In a squeeze bottle or spray bottle, just mix together: 1 cup of water, 1/8 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup castile soap, like Dr. Bronner’s (alternatively, you can use non-toxic dishwashing liquid); Optional: you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oils if you want. Shake before each use. That’s it! 🌿"

New York Post : Household cleaning products release hundreds of hazardous chemicals: study
A new study, published Tuesday in Chemosphere, found household cleaning products may release hundreds of hazardous compounds that could linger in the air for months, so it’s recommended to buy “green,” fragrance-free cleaners.
Scientists from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) analyzed 30 common cleaning products, testing conventional and “green” products with and without fragrances to determine if one type is safer.
The researchers sprayed the products inside a chamber and tested the air over four hours for the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Tumblr media
“Our findings emphasize a way to reduce exposure to hazardous VOCs — by selecting products that are ‘green,’ especially those that are ‘green’ and ‘fragrance free,’” EWG senior toxicologist Alexis Temkin said in a statement. Scientists from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) analyzed 30 common cleaning products, testing conventional and “green” products with and without fragrances to determine if one type is safer.Science Direct
The researchers detected 530 unique VOCs among the 30 products.
193 of them were determined to be hazardous.
Hazardous VOCs have the potential to lead to asthma, increased cancer risk and developmental and reproductive problems.
HDX glass cleaner, Scott’s liquid gold wood care and Lestoil heavy-duty multi-purpose cleaner were the worst when it comes to VOCs, per the study. HDX glass cleaner, Scott’s liquid gold wood care and Lestoil heavy-duty multi-purpose cleaner were found to contain the most toxic chemicals.amazon.com
Tumblr media
Only one product — Dr. Bronner’s pure-castile soap, baby unscented — did not emit any VOCs.
“Green” products released just four chemicals classified as hazardous, on average, compared with about 15 in “green” products with fragrance and 22 for conventional products.
VOCs contaminate indoor air two to five times more than outdoor air, with some estimates putting it as high as 10 times more.
These toxic chemicals can linger in the air for months. Hazardous VOCs have the potential to cause asthma, increased cancer risk and developmental and reproductive problems.
Tumblr media
Dr. David Andrews, a senior scientist at EWG, explained to Daily Mail: “There is no established safe exposure value or limit for VOCs nor are there specific health-based regulations for VOC emissions from cleaning products.”
“Some VOCs are much more hazardous than others, but which VOCs or VOC mixtures are causing the most harm hasn’t been established,” he continued.
Previous studies have found that these chemicals can cause significant harm when breathed in over a sustained period.
“This study is a wake-up call for consumers, researchers and regulators to be more aware of the potential risks associated with the numerous chemicals entering our indoor air,” Temkin said.
