I got an emotional support plushie from ESCrittersThatCare 🐾

My toxic trait is naming plushies after characters then refusing to use their names so my plush posts don't show up in fandom tags. I've named this plushie Alicent (we'll allow it just this once 😂) after someone who seems like she'd also bite people for me if it came to that, but I'm gonna call her Ali because it's both generic and deceptively adorable.

Real talk for a minute, I don't talk about my health much because it's not relevant to a stuffed animal blog, but anyway, things haven't been great. I've been keeping things as normal as I can where my physical health permits it, and far be it from me to suggest 'funny stuffed animal helps', but… you never know, she just might. Emotional support, like the vest says. I've always believed in plushies being good for emotional wellbeing.

Anyway, hopefully I'll have some pics of Ali's adventures to show you before long! 💚

I have such an appreciation for the whole ESSA community on Tiktok. It genuinely brings me joy to see older kids/teens/adults making videos with their stuffed animals and taking them out and being unapologetic about the fact that carrying around a stuffed animal just makes them feel comfortable and happy. It makes me happy to see people who might be considered "too old" for stuffed toys still actively playing with them. Making videos of them "singing," or doing tricks, or walking on a leash, or "training," it's all just creative and fun and a little whimsical, and I love to see it.

I don't really interact with the community because it is mostly kids and I'm almost 35, but I do enjoy scrolling through the videos of stuffed animals going on adventures and getting dressed up in their gear for an outing. It reminds me of kinztube; I used to love watching people make videos with their webkinz!

I love the ESSA/emotional support plush/general plush collectors community on Tumblr, too! I just really love stuffed animals and it makes me happy that other people find joy in them too, for so many different reasons!

I don't really have specific ESSAs, personally; for me it's the feeling of having a plush with me that makes me happy and comfortable rather than a specific plush, so whatever plush I decide to bring with me is my ESSA for the day (or ESPP? Emotional support poke-plush? Idk). I never leave home without one!
