I get that the whole Krakoa thing set them more apart than ever but I never got on with the idea that it culturally made them not human. Absolutely thrilled to be showing you all the last banner I made for the @house-of-dadneto event with my favourite New Mutants and Headmaster Mags! I absolutely adored the dynamic all the kids had with Erik while he was their teacher back in the 80's comics, and my love for it was only renewed with the latest Magneto comic that came out in 2023! If you haven't seen these comics before, I highly recommend them, as it really shows the best of what Erik can be as a mentor/father figure! 💕

Sabertooth's Murder Simulator

Murder murder murder

Victor Creed was sentenced to exile in the Pit at the dawn of the First Krakoan Age for murder. Krakoa itself disagreed with the whole 'unable to move or think but completely aware of it' thing and made him a holodeck of sorts. He got to do whatever he liked (such as fight the X-Men here) but his memory was limited to preserve the illusion.

Here's him using it to kill Cyclops, and then using his mangled body's optic blasts to kill the others. He doesn't get bored of this at all.

Doug Ramsay (and Warlock) visits him on behalf of Krakoa. Acting as the DA in a prison simulation, he tried to find middle ground.

Creed isn't especially interested in that. Then Doug levels with him, offering actual mental and psychic freedom. Sabertooth doesn't really have a choice so he eventually accepts.

Honestly, there wasn't much difference at first. He simply used it as a more elaborate murder simulator, starting with killing Chuck. Fair, honestly. Now that he remembered everything he did eventually get bored, but only after running through every revenge or cruelty fantasy he could think of, multiple times.

It gradually dawned on him that the Krakoan psychic connection was a two way street - he had much more agency than was intended. It wasn't until he had the company of other people that he started plotting escape, but that's a story for another time.

Doug Ramsey wakes up from his hibernation when he finds that the mutants outside are at war with the Sentinels in the remnants of Krakoa. Doug notes that some things haven't changed even though the mutants are fighting the Stark Sentinels. Doug Ramsey talks to the Stark Sentinels in binary code but he feels that he's a little rusty in his language skills. However, Exodus is impressed with Doug for slowing down the Stark Sentinels so it gives him the chance to punch the giant robot. Doug Ramsey reads the Krakoan code on the soil and he spells out as S.O.S code.
