Am I the only one who REALLY hates the look of double spacing? I'll be trying to read something and then I get hit in the face with the double spacing and it just looks so weird and it's so hard to focus on the text; it's a similar problem to the one I have whenever people don't put breaks in their paragraphs.

Like which of these sentences looks better to you?

"John went to the store and bought milk."

"John went to the store and bought milk."

The last one has way too big of spaces, right?

I understand a lot of people learned this technique but come on, we don't typically use typewriters anymore!
