Egguius grew 👏 that 👏 slime 👏 in his own smol bean body. His own egg womb produced it, like gsmzee will later produce pies in the oven. He was in a state of intoxication the whole time from his own slime cells, all for this egg! (It's called "Egg Madness" in Alternian culture).

PARENTHOOD - DOG MAN AU

Finally doing what Elementary schooler me would've killed to do:

~Make an accurate Dog Man AU.~

The clone machine says that it would take 18 years for Lil Petey to reach adulthood, right? Well, he has a LOT of consciousness for a literal baby (he acts like a 5 year old), so I always found it odd that the comix stated 18 years would need to pass.

So.

What if he was an actual baby??

WELCOME TO THE DOG MAN PARENTHOOD AU!!!

Basically, Lil Petey is baby, small baby, wee kitten, and Petey ain't prepared for this. Neither is Dog Man. Or Chief. Or Nurse Lady. Or Sarah. Or Gramp-

Petey and Dog Man have to make difficult choices surrounding morality, mortality, and how they see one another.

The AU might turn into Detey. I have no idea.

On the topic of Jake The Dad

Jake the Dog was a good parent in the sense where his kids loved him, and he loved them, but he wasn't around as much as he should have been. Obviously he was there when they were puppies, and until they were at most maybe 10-15? Maybe he was there for longer, but it was evident in the show that his kids wished he was around them more.

"I mean, I love Dad, but he's only met me twice!" -TV

Although, even though I feel like he could have tried harder with the puppies, I do understand that he didn't have the chance he deserved to be a dad. Rainicorn babies age fast, as he said. They didn't need him anymore. I think if he had more time to actually be a dad, he would have been an amazing one. But maybe he would feel more connected to the puppies if he was around them during their later teenage years. Maybe he would have been able to relate to them more. I do think there was probably more bonding than what we saw onscreen but it's still kind of heartbreaking to think about the fact that he raised his brother better than his kids.

so this is kinda petty because it doesn't hurt anybody and seems to warm people's hearts, but i hate those posts where they're like "this dog got to meet their favorite character/toy" because the dog has no idea that's how you perceive someone dressed up in a costume. they just think oh wow a human in a really weird outfit! this is a new experience! i enjoy new experiences because i am a predator!

Poor Chipmunk

Our dog caught a chipmunk and was carrying it around, alive, in the woods. She would let the chipmunk go, chase it a little, then pick it up again.

Our cat showed up, probably attracted by the screams of terror from the chipmunk. She also helped chase the chipmunk around, though she mostly watched the dog with cold amusement. She has done this before; I have witnessed her catch a mouse, bring it alive to the dog for a toy, and then lay down nearby to watch the dog play with it.

In any case: by this point, the chipmunk was visibly injured. And yet somehow it managed to zigzag escape the predators and scamper about 15 feet up a tree. It clung to the trunk, chittering angrily at the cat and dog below.

The dog tried climbing the tree, an attempt both comical and pointless. The cat, an experienced climber, was poised to ascend when unexpectedly a hawk swooped out of the woods, plucked the chipmunk off the tree in its talons, and flew back into the woods to devour its prey.

We watched all of this Animal Planet footage unfold live from the back deck at the same time our teenagers were having a discussion with us about various aspects and experiences of dating.

"Well, it's kind of like the experience of that chipmunk," said our 18-year-old. I'm pretty sure he was mostly joking. Mostly.
