one of drakengard 3's most significant blasphemies aside from getting rid of literally one of the core worldbuilding tools that makes drakengard stand out from most other "medieval fantasy/dark fantasy" media (pact system, which largely served to boost up it's OTHER notable feature being it's dark characters) is completely throwing weapon magic out the window in exchange for what's literally just a glorified version of Drakengard 2's sonic burst

I finally caved and gave my extra Summer Edelgard I was saving to Felicia. Btw. Because all my other faves who got armored alts ended up being mages 😤
This DOES make her really fun though!!! And it's really nice to have something like this on an older unit, makes up for any powercreep she may have been subjected to! She also has the Atk/Def Ideal skills and Ruptured Sky in her kit, but, I'm finding I don't even really need them! Espppp bc Glacies procs really quickly actually, and does a lot of damage!

Also speedran a Bigshadow artfight reference. I think she’s probably my favorite of my alternate DoD, but maybe because I just haven’t worked on the others as much.
-I struggled to come up with wing/underbelling patterns. I used to go with spiral-y patterns like her father but I don’t know if that really suits her. I ended up doing some word association and was like “what makes big shadows in the sky? Clouds”, so its supposed to look like their are clouds blocking out some of her stars.
-I’ve HC’d for a while that Moonwatcher (and by extension Bigshadow in this AU) have a slight hint of Icewing ancestry in them through Secretkeeper. Not that much, but maybe just a little to explain their pale coloration and longer horns and spines.
-To extend off the Sandwing idea, the Nightwing “breath weapon” is more of a superheated flash bang that goes off in their mouth used to blind foes, even from a decent distance. Their mouth stays really hot after and gives their bite a bit of extra spice, but they can’t really use it as the “damage weapon” on its own. They have really thick eyelids they close when they use it to not blind themselves.
Also since I did this for Arroyo here’s her baby/toddler pictures, from September 2021 and July 2022 (just about a month before I started posting on here).

The DOD building had so much more extra security than the Quantico Office that even Aaron thought it was a bit over the top. As he and Emily got through the fifth and final chcheckpointthey were scanned over one last tmtimend met by a stern-looking general who had the nametag Harrow on. He greeted the two agents and said, “Follow me. I’m happy the BAU is involved in this case, because right now we’re stymied, so having a new set of eyes on this will be helpful.” Hotch nodded and replied, “We’ll do what we can to help, Sir.” As they walked down the long tiled hallways Emily shot Aaron a look that said, “That wasn’t a thanks for being, that was a fix this shit, talk.” Hotch caught the drift and nodded, ing back, “It is, but we don’t say anything about it.” Em nodded back in understanding. The trio got to a secured door, and General Harrow opened and ushered Hotch and Prentiss inside. The room was large with maps and charts on the wall as well as a printout of the city of Chicago on top of the long table. There were three other people in the room who stood when the Agents and the General entered the room. General Harrow made quick introductions by saying, “Agents Hotchner and Prentiss, this is Brigadier General Pabts, Officer Keen, and Lieutenant Blake. I’ll let General Pabts tell you about our current sensitive situation. thereTherealso folders holding the highly classified information as well.
Pabts motioned Hotch and Emily to sit, which everyone did before he clicked a slideshow, and the face of a young woman in army marine fatigues appeared on the wall. The older man stated, “Officer y/n, y/l/n. She’s been enlisted in the Marines for years and is a dedicated officer. She disappeared two weeks ago, and we believe she’s been kidnapped by a foreign group who is torturing her for information, which is being leaked on sites online.” Aaron gave a nod in understanding as Pabts continued, “Not only are classified documents being leaked, but because of those leaks, a highly skilled sniper seems to be targeting those in the documents. Five decorated army men have been unceremoniously gunned down in the dead of day and I’m sick and tired of seeing my people get hurt and killed for serving this country.” The man’s moment of anger was ignored by everyone in the room as Lieutenant stepped in and said, “I was Offcer yOfficer CO on our mission in Chicago. There had been rumors of the terrorist organization setting down roots in IlliniosIllinoiswere trying to get ahead of the group. We had an elite squad of both Marines and Army on an undercover mission. A week into the mission had names and a location. On our first scouting mission to the location was whe, y/n/n disappeared. Officer Keen was the last to see Officer y/l/n before she disappeared. So either we have an AWOL officer or one that’s being tortured this moment for information - neither of those is are good option for us. Now. Officer Keen, please describe your last encounter with Officer y/l/n.”
Officer Keen swallowed nervously before saying, “Officer y/l/n and I were scouting an alley. She seemed anxious. More anxious than normal, but we were getting close to where the terrorist cell was, and she was taking point, so I would have been nervous too. We reached an alley that had ladder access to the roof of the building we were scouting. y/n took the ladder route, and I took the street. I expected to meet her again before we got to the building, but she never showed. As it turned out, the building was a ruse. There were signs that the terrorist cell had been there, but they’d left the day before or so. It was only ten minutes before I realized that y/n wasn’t showing up. The unit all started looking, but we couldn’t find y/n anywhere. There weren’t signs of a struggle apart from some blood that was DNA matched to Officer y/n on the top of the roof and down to the street below, but from there the trace went cold.”
General Harrow looked at Aaron and Emily and said, “Now you understand the circumstances and severity of what we’re dealing with. I’ll leave you both with General Pabts, Officer Keen, and Lieutenant Blake as you read over the information in those folders. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them anything. We’re hoping to have you and your team at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois by the end of the day.” General Harrow didn’t have to say, “Do I make myself clear?” to be understood. This was an order that the BAU would follow. Hotchner stood and shook the General’s hand and said, “My team will be there by the end of the day, Sir.” Harrow nodded once more and then left the room, not even acknowledging Emily’s presence. Aaron sat back down and didn’t even open the file before asking his first question: “Can my team and I see the leaked documents that have been causing the L.D.S.K.?” Lieutenant Blake asked, “L.D.S.K., Sir?” Emily tried not to sigh and said, “Long Distance Serial Killer. There are only two known cases dealing with L.D.S.K.s, but it looks like we might be dealing with three now.” Blake nodded and said, “Understood. Unfortunately, we can’t share those classified documents with you. They’ve been rescrubbed from the web, nd the fewer people who know about that information, he better for the country it will be.” Aaron’s jaw tightened, and he said, “I understand this is a matter of national security, Sir, but how are we supposed to work out the motivation of the sniper, or unsub as the BAU calls them, if we don’t have that information.” Bl? Ke didn’t budge, this was now a power play between the FBI and the DOD, where bad blood was thick. Blake continued, “Your unit is all about looking at trends and finding patterns. We have five dead army men in those folders looking for justice. See if you can link those patterns together.” Hotch chose not to respond to the taunt, instead, he and Emily opened their files and started reading.
After three hours of reading and asking tense questions, Emily and Hotch got out of the stifling room with their files and more information about the Marines and y/n’s unit than they may have wanted. The duo was about to walk out of the building when Officer Keen found them in the hallway. She approached and in a quiet voice stated, “Please find y/n. She was my friend.” Emily looked at the younger woman in front of her and, with sympathy, said, “We’re going to do our best.” As soon as they had their things back and were in the car, Aaron called Morgan and said, “Get the team ready to fly now. We’re headed to Chicago. Wheel’s up in thirty.”
On the jet, the team was more together than normal as Hotch and Em briefed them on the case so far. After hearing the details, Rossi stated, “I think we should split up into two teams. Morgan, JJ, and I can take the L.D.S.K. aspect. That will leave Aaron, Emily, and Spencer on the missing soldier.” Hotch nodded in agreement and said, “Sounds good. I’m going to give Penelope a call and see if she can find those files.” Hotch dialed Garcia and said, “Garcia, you’re on speaker. Do you think you could track down some files for me? They’re DOD and they’ve been scrubbed from the net.” There was a long pause before Penelope said, “Are you telling me to break into the DOD firewall, Hotch?” Aaron sighed and said, “I’m saying having these files will make our jobs easier and save more lives.” There was the sound of frantic typing before Pen said, “Got it. This might take longer than usual, but I’ll find your files. Please fax me the relevant data.” Hotch nodded and replied, “And Garcia, don’t get caught,” before he hung up the call and moved to the back of the plane to fax the documents that Penelope would need to do her job.
Arriving at the Military base was like moving into another world, one that didn’t jive with the BAU. Commander Rambart showed the team the room that was for their use and the bunks that they would be staying in. The younger man looked at Reid and Morgan as he said, “This isn’t the Hilton like you’re used to, but it will have to work for you folks.” After that, the man left the team to their own devices. Morgan looked at Aaron and asked, “Is there some bad blood between the army and the BAU that I don’t understand?” Hotch sighed, setting his duffle bag on his lower bunk before saying, “It’s the army, Morgan, they have bad blood with everyone. And let’s not forget that we’re stepping on their toes, they can’t be too happy about that.” Derek nodded, setting up his stuff above Hotch, and replied, “Noted. Stay away from the army brats.”
In the evidence room, the team regrouped, and with Rossi’s team working their angle, and Aaron looking for y/n. Hotch turned to Reid and asked, “Assuming that Officer y/l/n was taken, how many routes are there on and off of the roof she was on?” Reid looked at the map and ran some calculations in his head in a millisecond before saying, “There are three viable routes, but if y/n was carried or knocked out on the roof then I’d say there’s only one, and given that she was injured, it’s possible that was the scenario. If not, why wouldn’t she have screamed?” Hotch nodded along and said, “Are we going to go and check out the scene? I can also call Garcia and see if y/n’s phone has pinged anywhere since the day she was supposedly taken.” Hotch nodded and replied, “Sounds like a plan. I think having boots on the ground is the best option for us to start with. We’re looking for any sign that y/l/n is alive, see if she left any clues on how to find her. Anything.” Prentiss and Spencer nodded and headed out the door with Aaron at the front of the pack.
Rossi turned to Derek and said, “JJ and I will start looking at the profiles of the victims. How about you go down to the evidence and see if the bullet fragments can tell us anything. Morgan nodded and said, “Good luck with those files. Hotch told me they were heavy reading.” Just as Morgan left the room, he overheard Dave say to JJ, “Great, heavy reading and our super iededic reader is off on a team I assigned him to.” Derek chuckled and pushed open the door and moved through the long building, and outside. As he walked through the compound, he passed a group of trainees doing pushups and jumping jacks in the hot evening sun. The drill sergeant's voice calling out numbers and insults to the recruits on the ground. As he passed the people, Morgan was happy he was where he was, and not in their position. It was a bit of a trek to the evidence building on the other side of the base, but Morgan got there in good time. He checked in with the officer at the front desk, showing the young woman with slicked back hair his credentials before he was swiped into the next level of the building. Morgan was directed to go down the hallway, take a left, and right, and it was the door at the end of the hallway. Derek followed the directions and entered a large room that had three tables at the front end and a shooting range on the other side of the room. Morgan stood alone for a second before another person entered the room. It was another young, attractive officer with a name tag of J. Palacios. The woman nodded at Derek and said, “I was told you were here to look at the evidence from the recent shootings. Am I correct?” Morgan smiled and replied, “Yes, Ma’am.” Ms. Palacios looked unamused and replied, “Save your Ma’ams for someone else, I have a job to do here, and your little team is just getting in my way, so put on some gloves. I’ll show you what we have so far, and you can be on your merry way.” Derek soberly nodded before moving to put on some gloves.
It was golden hour by the time Hotch, Prentiss, and Reid got to the rooftop where y/n had allegedly been taken. Thankfully it h, it hadn’t rained since y/n went missing, and the blood stains were still visible on the roof. Spencer and Aaron quickly started examining the blood splatter pattern to see if it looked like a bullet wound or a knife wound at had been used to inflict the bleeding. Reid followed the blood splatter to the edge of the roof and motioned Hotch and Emily over. Once at the genius’s side, Spence said, “Officer y/n wasn’t unconscious or carried off the roof. She must have been ambushed, injured, but left the roof using her own strength.” Prentiss looked and Reid and asked, “Why do you think that?” Spencer frowned and said, “Well, if I were trying to get someone unconscious off a roof, I’d use the safety ladder, not the option where you have to jump to a different roof and then down to the ground.” Hotch nodded and said, “There’s something about the blood pattern that’s off t, oo. Like the bleeding was controlled, I doubt Officer y/l/n was patched up on the roof by her abductors.” Emily looked at the pair and said, “You think Officer y/l/n went AWOL, don’t you?” Aaron crossed his arms over his chest and said, “I don’t know that, I just think that her abductors would have asked for a ransom already, the facts just seem off. Emily looked at the distance that y/n would have had to jump and couldn’t fault Hotch or Spencer with how they were thinking. No matter what, when she looked at it, the facts weren’t adding up.
Rossi closed the file he was finished with and opened the next one and said, ‘Well they didn’t redact that all of those who have been killed so far were all on the same base at the same time in Iraq two years ago, the question is, what kind of mission where they running.” JJ looked up from her file and replied, “Well, that’s what we hope Garcia can find. It didn’t seem like anything special was happening at the base during the stint the victims were there, so it must have been a pretty top-secret clearance mission. No wonder the DOD didn’t want that information out in the public. Rossi tapped his foot under the table and said, “These people didn’t seem to have that high of a clearance, unless they were undercover, or had altered military identities? I mean, why kill a random technician, two officers, and one general? I mean, the general makes sense, but how are the other three involved?” JJ gave Rossi the “I have no clue face” and buried herself back in her current reading.
“You’re saying the gun was 3D printed?” Derek asked Officer Palacios. The woman nodded and said, “You’ve seen the target patterns under the microscope. Bullet patterns from known gun manufacturers would have had a positive ID by now, but there was no known barrel pattern that was recognizable. This is becoming a bigger and bigger problem with 3D printing. You can print anything, and it becomes untraceable.” Morgan nodded along and said, “Well, that makes things more interesting. The bullets were generic too, so there’s nothing to go off of there either,” Officer Palacios nodded and said, “I told you there was nothing here for you. So, are we done here?” Derek put up his hands and replied, “I guess so. Thank you for your time.” Derek was disappointed with his findings because he had hoped to find out some kind of information, like a gun manufacturer or a serial number.
Without much to go off of t, he team met that night for dinner at the canteen. Halfway through the meal, he got a call from Penelope. He stood and took it in the hallway, saying, “Talk to me, Gacia.” Penelope smiled and said, “Well I’ve got something for you pulled from the depths of the surveillance state.” Aaron looked around the empty hallway and said, “Don’t say stuff like that too loud around here, Garcia, I don’t want to be thrown in jail if I can avoid it.” Penelope laughed and said, “Well I’ve sent you the files that I have, you should be warned, it’s not pretty information. I understand why the DOD wanted this gone.” Hotch nodded and ended the call with, “Thank Garcia, you’re a life lifesaverven that information, Aaron moved back to the canteen and motioned for his team to follow him back to their sleeping bunks. The team piled around Aaron as he pulled open his laptop and opened the encrypted files that Penelope had sent in encrypted files. There were multiple documents, but one video was also attached. Hotch opened the file, nd the BAU watched a video footage from a drone following a flow flying bomber plane making multiple passes over a poor-looking neighborhood and dropping multiple bombs. There was no sound to the video, but the flashes on the screen indicated that the explosives had hit their mark. There were a few seconds where the video cut out, and then the after-effects of the bombs were shown from a high altitude. What had been a neighborhood before was now a smoldering pile of rubble and ash.
“Shit,” Derek muttered. Hotch shook his head and said, “I’m going to print these documents, I need us to look over them with a fine-tooth comb. If you notice anything about anyone related to this case, tell me. Where did this happen, why, and when?” The team nodded and settled down for a long night of reading. By 3:00 AM, the team had a lot more information. So far, they knew that all of the men and women who had been killed so far had been on the bombing mission in some way. The mission itself was called Operation Bright Burn, and it was supposed to take out a sect of the terrorist cell that had allegedly taken y/n hostage. However, from the documents Garcia has sent, it turned out to all have been a huge mistake. The terrorist cell was nowhere near the neighborhood that had been bombed, and 25 civilians had been killed, including ten women and seven children. There were only two other people who could be targets. How y/n was involved was still unknown.
As the other team members continued reading and writing down information from the files, Rossi motioned for Aaron to join him by the door. Dave and Hotch huddled, and Rossi said, “That video footage is terrible news for the State Department and DOD. No wonder the government had it buried.” Hotch nodded and replied, “It’s even worse than Desert Storm. That footage could radicalize thousands of people abroad and here nationally. Rossi didn’t mince his words when he said, “I mean it’s fucked. No matter what, we have to keep this under wraps.” Aaron nodded and said, “I’m going to go talk to the staff sergeant about keeping the other possible targets at safe houses, we don’t have time to lose, you go tell the team how iimportan tit is that none of this information leaves this room.”
The night slowly bled into dawn. The team just had a few hours of sleep when the men were woken up with a harsh knock on their door. Morgan and Hotch were the first to the door, and a nervous-looking officer stated, “Agents, Commander Payne wants to see you at central command immediately.” Hotch nodded and said, “We’ll be there in five minutes.” Everyone else in the room had heard the conversation at the door and quickly changed. Spencer moved next door to knock on the women’s room to let them know to get up as well. Harried and worn, the BAU arrived in central command, where Commander Payne and a few other high-ranking officers were standing stiffly around a large screen. The BAU didn’t need the full breakdown of what was happening, but they got it anyway, as Commander Payne stated, “Officer Crimps has been taken hostage by the terrorist organization and is demanding 500,000 dollars for his return. They will call back in ten minutes for an answer.” Hotch looked at his team, nd they all understood. Officer Crimps was the pilot flying the bomber plane for Operation Bright Burn. The TV seems to show live video footage of the officer tied to a chair in a nondescript room. Aaron took point as usual and said, “Let me speak with the terrorists. I have hostage negotiation experience. Payne didn’t look happy, but after some convincing, he was the one to pick up after the five minutes had elapsed.
The first thing Aaron asked was, “Who am I speaking with?” to which the voice on the other end of the line replied, “It does not matter. What matters is the innocent blood that was spilled, and how much you are willing to pay to not have more be shed.” Aaron anxiously tapped his finger on the table as the call was trying to be traced by Penelope on a secure line. He needed to keep whoever he was speaking to talking for at least two minutes. Thinking of another option, Hotch asked, “Before we talk about your ransom offer, I’d like confirmation that Officer y/l/n is alive. We won’t talk money until that fact is made clear.” There was a beat of silence before the man on the other end of the line said, “We know of no y/l/n. We only have the man you see on television. Meet us at the West shipping port in twenty-four hours, come alone and with our money, or this man dies. And he will die with the whole world watching.” With that last sentence, the line went dead. Hotch quickly changed to the line with Penelope on it and put her on speaker phone: “Garcia, were you able to trace the call?” After the sounds of frantic typing, Penelope responded, “No. There were at least a dozen layers of encryption and rerouting on that call. Whoever these people are, they have high tech. I’m sorry, Hotch. I’ll keep trying.” Disappointed again, Aaron thanked Garcia and hung up.
Before Hotch could get a word in, Commander Payne looked at the other men in the BAU and also the BAU and said, “So Officer y/l/n went AWOL. We spent time and money on a target who’s a deserting son of a bitch while another officer’s life if being threatened. Rossi stepped in and said, “There still might be a correlation between the cases. Maybe y/n was leaking the classified documents to the terrorists.” That suggestion made Payne so mad that he slammed the tabletop top saying, “If that’s true, I will rain fire on y/l/n’s head like the plagues in the Bible.” Morgan moved forward and said, “Commander, can you share the live video footage with our team. We might be able to get to Officer Crimp before we have to think about the ransom if we can analyze the footage, but the sooner we can do that, the better chances we have.” Commander Payne looked Morgan up and down before nodding his head and saying, “You can have it, now, if you don’t mind, I need to make a call to the Pentagon hostage negotiation.” When Commander Payne and the other men had stepped out of the room, Aaron let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding in. He looked at Derek and said, “Good thinking to get them out of the room, now we can really strategize.” Emily added, “And now that they’re gone, we don’t have to pretend that we don’t actually know what’s going on.”
The team took the next three hours looking at every shot of the video the terrorists had sent, listening to every cadence of the call with no avail. Just as the team was losing hope, Gacia called. Derek picked up and said, “Talk to us, Baby girl.” Penelope's smile was audible through the phone as she said, “I have something for my people.” Rossi leaned forward and asked, “Did you manage to get the track and trace?” There was a pause before Penelope said, “No, but I do have a location on Officer y/l/n. And I know she’s the one who’s been leaking the documents. Hotch seemed to sag with relief, hearing some information, and asked, “Is she working with the terrorists?” Garcia replied, “No, oh actually. The terrorists were willing to pay y/n to join them, and she wholeheartedly refused. In her message to them, she was highly offended that they would even ask. It’s so strange. Here she goes leaking all this sensitive information, which led to the deaths of three men in the military, but she’s offended to be associated with terrorists? Make it make sense.” To Aaron, however, it was starting to make sense. He replied, “She’s acting on a level of extreme moral consciousness. One that almost verges on delusion. To her, sharing the information goes above any law, any order, and religion. The question we have to ask ourselves is what pushed her to this point.” There was a brief pause before Hotch pulled himself together and said, “Thanks for the information, Penelope. We’ll keep you updated on the case,” and then he hung up the phone.
“We hit the location hard and hot. I plan on blowing Officer y/l/n to hell.” Commander Payne said it with such confidence, and Aaron had to put on his most authoritative voice as he said, “Absolutely not. The DOD sent me and my team to figure out this case, and if you want to see Officer Crimps alive, I need to speak to Officer y/n.” Payne wheeled on Aaron and said, “Now wait a minute. I’m the commanding officer in this situation, and Officer y/n is under my jurisdiction.” Hotch let out a breath through his nose and replied, “Well, the DOD is in charge of the army, and they sent me and my team here to help you and your officers. So, would you like to waste more time while I call someone over at the Department of Defense, or can we get to officer y/l/n’s location?”
The car ride over was tense; Rossi and Derek talked about the best way to handle the situation on the ground. Commander Payne had ordered snipers to surround the cheap motel where Officer y/n was holed up. It was decided that Aaron would go in with Emily following behind, but not so that she would be seen. The team didn’t want y/n to feel cornered. “So we think this is PTSD from what Officer y/l/n saw while she was stationed abroad? Or just watching the footage that she leaked?” Ask Spencer. Hotch looked into the review mirror to look at Reid before saying, “Something set her off. We can’t know what that means yet, but I intend to find out. And I intend to get y/l/n out of that building alive.” Rossi chipped in, “That’s going to be hard with Commander trigger happy on our ass.” The fact that no one laughed to commented back at Dave meant that he was right.
The cars were parked a block away from the cheap motel that y/n was hiding in. The SUV and not-so-inconspicuous military HUM-V parked in another motel that might as well have a sign that read, “affairs happen here,” printed on their marquee. Hotch and Commander Payne had a private conversation that the rest of the BAU were not privy to. Finally, Aaron walked back to this group and said, “Payne’s giving Emily and me an hour, but he has his snipers ready to shoot if Officer y/n tries to make a run for it. That’s the best I can do. The clock just started, so, Em, let's get going. While I’m talking to Officer y/n, I want the rest of you to get more information. Scout out possible exits, see when y/n checked into the motel, all of that.” Rossi and Derek nodded that they’d take care of what Aaron had said, so Hotch and Prentiss turned on their heels and quickly jogged in the direction of the motel.
The motel was old and dilapidated. It reeked of mold, peeling wallpaper, and stains the occupants didn’t want to think too much about. Penelope had forwarded y/n’s room number along with the name of the motel - The Lucky Star - which sounded more like a casino than a place for people to sleep. The outdoor stairs to the second floor looked rusted and ready to crumble, but thankfully, they didn’t make a noise as the agent duo moved up them. Emily stayed at the top of the stairs, while Aaron crouched forward and walked to room 215. He stayed lower than the peephole and knocked on the door before moving back behind the wall. There was a moment before a voice replied, “I didn’t ask for any cleaning services, and if you’re soliciting, I’ll call management. Now go away.” Aaron waited a beat before replying, “This isn’t housekeeping. My name is Agent Aaron Hotchner from the Behavior Analysis Unit. I just want to talk.” Y/n replied through the door, “I’m done talking, and I’m done watching. I’m finally doing something for once in my life, Agent, and you can’t stop me.” Aaron nodded, trying to think of an angle to work as he bought time saying, “I understand why you feel like you have to do this, y/n.” Hotch could hear that sigh through the door as y/n responded, “How could you possibly know why I’m doing this? And even if you did, it doesn’t matter, you can’t undo what I’ve done. The internet is forever. The whole world will see what the U.S. Government is willing to do to innocent people in the name of freedom.”
Hotch remembered that y/n was driven by moral obligation as he said, “Those terrorists. The ones that offered you a job? They have Officer Crimps. They plan to kill him unless we can find him first. You can help us with that. No one else has to die.” Y/n replied, “Crimps isn’t innocent. He has blood on his hands, too. Not that I want him to die, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make if I can get the last of this information out to the public. My last service to my country.” Just as y/n finished speaking, there was a loud blaring noise and the sound of a megaphone attached to speakers as Commander Payne’s voice echoed through the room and outdoor hallway: “This is Commander Payne of the U.S. Army. Officer y/l/n you have thirty minutes to surrender yourself to court martial. If you don’t come out willingly, we will see that you are taken by force. The second option will not be a fun experience for you. I promise you that.” Aaron cursed under his breath. He had been promised a full hour to talk to y/n. To get her to come willingly, the commander was forcing his hand.
There were some sounds from inside the room, and Aaron began to panic. Just as he was about to kick open the door, he could he it unlock from the inside. Hotch stopped just in time to not kick in an open door like Derek might have. Sensing something might be off, Aaron pulled out his gun and moved to the door. It only took a light push for the door to swing inward. Aaron didn’t charge in. There was a room with a ghastly green carpet and wallpaper from the eighties. The bed was covered in papers and multiple laptops and monitors. There was a desk with a chair that looked like it was about to fall apart. However, y/n was nowhere to be seen. And if she had moved to the balcony, Commander Payne would have said something already. That left the small closet to the left of the door, or what had to be the bathroom on the right. Aaron crept into the room and opened the shallow closet, and felt inside with his right hand. It was empty. Before Aaron could call out, there was a voice from behind the bathroom door, “In here, Agent Hotchner. I’m unarmed.” Hotch furrowed his brow, It sounded like y/n was having a hard time talking. No matter what Officer y/l/n said, Aaron was still cautious and kept his gun in front of him as he opened the bathroom door. The fluorescent tube was flickering on the yellowing tiled floor. The shade covering the light of the sink was covered in dust with bugs trapped inside. Officer y/n was draped over the toilet. She was breathing fast, and sweat covered her face and arms. It was pooling at the pits of her arms.
Hotch quickly holstered his weapon, realizing that y/n wasn’t going to be a threat to him. Aaron moved to his knees in the small space next to y/n, who was starting to spasm involuntarily. Leaning above her, Aaron looked into y/n’s y/e/c eyes and asked, “What’d you take, Officer y/l/n?” y/n coughed and turned her head to vomit into the toilet. She didn’t really make it, but that didn’t seem to bother her. Y/n handed an empty pill bottle to Aaron and said, “I’m not really an officer anymore, Agent Hotchner. You don’t need to keep up the formality.” Hotch looked at the title on the bottle, Duloxetine. Y/n was overdosing, and he said, “We need to get you medical attention, fast.” Y/n shook her head and said, “Please, don’t. I… I’m ready. I can’t live the rest of my life in a military prison., Just let me go.” Hotch knew that wasn’t how justice worked. However, he knew that time was precious, and he asked, “Why do it? You swore an oath to your country? What made you a traitor?” Y/n looked at Aaron with thanks in her eyes, which were turning glassy. She knew Agent Hotchner was giving her more time, time to die. So she stated with struggle, “Crimps and I were fucking. It gets boring being at an outpost all the time with nothing to do.” Y/n coughed and said, “One night he seemed more excited than usual. As we were fucking he told me he’d ran a mission early that day. That he’d killed a lot of people, and some of them were civilians. He was gleeful about it. Something in me just snapped that night. Can you imagine going down on a woman and saying you’d killed innocent people while doing that?”
Aaron nodded no, and moved his hand to brush some spittle from the corner of y/n’s mouth as he said, “No. I can’t. I’m sorry.” Y/n shook her head slightly as the tremors in her body got worse. “I had to let the world know., I’ve done such horrible things in the name of this country, and I’m ashamed. I’m trying not to be scared.” Hotch cupped y/n’s face as tears streamed down her cheek and into his hands. He knew the pain must be horrible as he said, “I know. You’re being very brave. But no one else has to die. Tell me where Crimps is being held. Please.” Y/n closed her eyes, every breath a pain as she whispered, “22 West Westlake Ave. Unit 110.” Y/n took one last breath before saying, “Tell my family I’m sorry.” With that,t y/n gave out a cry and seized until she went rigid and her breathing stopped. Aaron did what he could, but by the time the ambulance and the Army came storming in, y/n had passed to wherever she was destined to go next.
There was no time to grieve or think, and Aaron, his team, and the Army moved onto the terrorists’ location to save Crimps, who had a few broken bones but was going to be okay with some rest and leave. It was late when Aaron made the call to break the news to y/n’s family. Hotch was tired, emotional. He could feel the anticipation on the other end of the phone as he stated, “Y/n wanted to let you know that… that she loved you.” Just as he heard the tears begin on the other end of the line, he slipped to phone over to JJ to continue the rest of the difficult conversation. Aaron slipped out the back door, the base's head command. Standing in the dark, Aaron leaned against the wall and let out a breath. He was alone for only a few minutes before Rossi also exited the building and asked, “Hard day?” Aaron looked over to his friend with tired eyes, saying, “They’ll bury the victims this weekend with pomp and circumstance. Men who were all involved in the killing of innocents. Officer Crimps will be a hero. And Officer y/l/n? What does she get? Nothing but a dishonorable discharge even in death. She was trying to show people the ugly truth that can never be seen.” Rossi sighed and said, “They don’t pay us to think about things like that, Aaron. Just remember, you did what you could today. And you were there for y/n when she probably needed someone the most.” Hotch gave a slight nod, and Rossi patted his arm before returning inside.

“I wonder what WoF Lego would be like” - Me, about to start cooking
I feel like they’d either make the dragons big collector sets, entirely brick built, make them normal minifigs, or make special molds for each tribe and just use different prints depending on the character.
I feel like the first wave of sets would likely be arc 1, since that makes the most sense.
anyhow. This is what I think wings of fire Lego sets could be like. I’ll probably do more in the future when I read more of the series. Don’t take these as 100% confirmed undeniable proof that Lego will make wings of fire sets.
ARC 1:
BOOK 1:
SET 1: Dragonet Cave Escape
Builds: The DoD cave, Table and shelf for scrolls, cave door
Minifigs: Kestrel, Dune, Clay, Tsunami and Starflight
Play features: the door would have the ability to open and close.
SET 2: Skywing Arena
Builds: Skywing Arena Pillar, Arena Balcony, Glory’s fake tree and Scarlet’s throne.
Minifigs: Queen Scarlet, Peril, Clay, Tsunami, Gill, Glory, Princess Burn, and 3x unnamed Skywings
Play feature: Scarlet’s throne would have a mechanism that knocks her off of it.
The unnamed Skywings would have spears.
BOOK 2:
SET 1: Royal Hatchery
Builds: Royal Hatchery, Orca’s Statue, Hatchery Doors.

SET 2: The Summer Palace
Builds: The Summer Palace, tables, shelves.
Minifigs: Tsunami, Queen Coral, Anemone, Riptide, Commander Shark, Whirlpool, Princess Blister, 5x unnamed Seawings.
Play features: Each floor is removable, allowing for easier access to play with minifigures.
Two of the unnamed Seawings would have spears. Whirlpool would have a 1x2 flat plate with a scroll printed on it. Coral would have a double-sided head. One side is a calm face, and the other an angry face.
BOOK 3:
SET 1: The Rainwing Village
Builds: A large platform, plants and hammocks. The Queen’s Throne Room
Minifigs: Glory, Mangrove, Queen Magnificent, Tamarin, Jambu, Liana, Mango, Grandeur, Bromeliad.
SET 2: Blaze’s Fortress + Enchanted Tunnel
Builds: Blaze’s Fortress, Enchanted Tunnel
Minifigs: Blaze, Mangrove, Glory, Deathbringer, 1x unnamed icewing, 2x unnamed sandwings
Play features: The enchanted tunnel would have a play feature where you can put a minifig inside, turn a piece on the top, and the minifig would spin around to the other side.
The tunnel, on one side, would be rainforest terrain, with plants, and sand and rock on the other.
SET 3: Volcano Tunnel Builds: The Volcano Tunnel + Rainwing prison.
Minifigs: Glory, Kinkajou, Orchid, Deathbringer, 2x unnamed Nightwings. Play features: The prison’s back walls and roof would be removable, and the doors can be opened. The unnamed Nightwings would have spears, and one has a key to open the doors.
The volcano tunnel would have the same rainforest terrain on one side, but would have rock and orange lava on the other side instead of sand.
BOOK 4:
SET 1: Nightwing Library

BOOK 5:
Set 1: Scorpion Den + Enchanted Tunnel
Builds: Scorpion Den gate, market stalls, Thorn’s tent, Enchanted Tunnel

Me when i'm in a hc design competition but my opponent is Hperson
Tumblr media
This was supposed to be like. "DoD killers but they're overly accesorised" but i could not for the life of me figure out what to do for both robots so they're just general hc designs now
Singles with annontations plus extra hcs under the cut
Tumblr media
The inv cloak hood thing is actually part of the reason be can become invisible, not all of it tho
His first layer of skin is like, really thick, UNBELIVABLY thick. That's why bullets just do surface level scars
He's slightly taller than artful when standing up straight
Tumblr media
He wouldn't admit it publicly but he likes his little germ.... Its name is germy
The skeleton decal is actually a sticker he found that just so happened to fit perfectly
The antenees don't move by themselves, if they do move he has to retune them by hand. He's working on connecting it to himself so he doesn't have to do that
Tumblr media
The artful design i was thinking about while making my own was made by downuptone on the official dc server! Idk if they have any socials tho so i can't tag them :(
The tear on his mask was painted with metalic paint so it shines!
Only one i can call overly decorated. I think he's very dramatic with his magician persona
Tumblr media
I got inspired by @/jhomop's killdroid kinda, specially for the antenee on his headphones
The chainmail is basically sautered onto him, so are the rocket launchers
He only wears the medal sometimes
Ok.... that is all..............

I love wings of fire, and my little brother has to read it for school. It’s lots of fun, and im so glad the series is so popular that it’s required reading for school haha. He struggles with comprehending it but I love chatting about it to him. He’s taken a few weeks to get to part 2 of the dod prophecy but I’m proud of him
It's a bit shocking to me that Wings of Fire would be required reading in some schools. In every school I went to, we never read modern books as a class or were assigned to read them. The closest we ever got in lower grades (ages 9-13) was House of the Scorpion, and that was extra credit.

Chapter four
---------
Warning:
The Following Story is entirely out of my imagination, I do not mean harm when writing this story with any religion or culture.
That being said, BNHA does not belong to me, any other character beside the main character does not belong to me.
English isn’t my first language, please be kind <3
main list < Previous chapter Next chapter >
Bakugou’s breath hitched as he took an involuntary step back. His heart pounded in his chest, not from exertion—but from something else. Something unfamiliar.
Fear.
Your eyes, usually burning with confidence, had turned pitch black, like the void of a starless night. The flames surrounding you crackled with wild, erratic energy, shifting from blue to a light blue, then flickering into white for a split second. The air around you was suffocating, heavy with something unnatural.
“The hell is this?” Bakugou muttered, his voice quieter than usual. He clenched his fists, trying to steady himself.
Aizawa stood up, straightened his posture as he felt the shift in this fight. He looked at the side where Present Mic was standing. “Those flames aren’t the ones we are used to..” Aizawa pointed out, paying extra attention now, his fingers tensed, already preparing to activate his quirk again if necessary.
You put a small step forward, those steps being uneven making you look like a zombie. Your flames shining brighter than ever. All of the sudden a slash of flames, hotter than the sun, came over towards bakugou, as he could dodge it just on time.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” he barked, flipping mid-air before landing in a crouch. His chest heaved, adrenaline spiking in a way he did not like.
That wasn’t a normal attack. That was something deadly.
He clenched his fists, forcing himself to focus despite the sting across his face. His skin burned just from being near it. He grit his teeth. “Oi! What the hell are you—?!”
He stopped in his tracks, as you stood in front of him, your hair burning, no—
Floating.
He looked closely to your forehead, a massive scar ran from side to side. It looked like barbed wire running across it. But the weirdest part was not the scar itself
But that it in fact was glowing.
Your hands were covered in flames, almost grabbing bakugou when he suddenly got pushed to the side. Midoriya tackled him on the ground as she nearly hit him.
Bakugou hit the ground with a grunt, the weight of Midoriya keeping him down just long enough to avoid your outstretched, burning hands. The heat from your flames still singed the air above him, and for a split second, he could feel the searing intensity brush past his face.
“The hell, Deku?!” Bakugou barked, shoving Midoriya off him.
Midoriya scrambled up, his eyes frantic. “You weren’t moving!” he shouted, his gaze darting back to you.
Your flames had completely lost their shape. The white-hot fire around you swirled chaotically, licking at the air with a hunger that didn’t seem normal. Your stance was unsteady, your breath uneven. And those eyes—the ones that weren’t yours but somehow were yours at the same time—fixed on the two of them with something unrecognisable.
Aizawa’s sharp eyes narrowed as he took in the scene before him. The intensity of your flames, the unnatural way they moved—it wasn’t normal. It wasn’t just a quirk going out of control. Something deeper was happening.
Without hesitation, he activated Erasure. His hair whipped upwards, his crimson gaze locking onto you as his quirk flared to life.
Nothing happened.
Aizawa’s stomach dropped.
Your flames didn’t even flicker. They roared, surging higher, feeding off some unseen force. His Erasure should have worked. It always worked. So why—?
“Shit.” Aizawa immediately reached for his capture weapon, swinging it toward you with practiced precision. If he couldn’t shut your quirk down, he’d have to contain you.
But the second the cloth neared your flames—It disintegrated.
Aizawa barely had time to react before a wave of scorching heat blasted toward him. He jumped back, dodging it by inches, but even then, the air stung against his skin. “Sensei!” Midoriya’s panicked voice rang out as he forced himself up. His eyes darted from Aizawa to you, horror settling into his expression. “Your Erasure—why didn’t it work?!”
Aizawa didn’t answer immediately. His jaw clenched as he landed in a low stance, calculating his next move. Why didn’t it work?
Aizawa quickly switched gears. He wouldn’t be able to neutralize your quirk—but he could subdue you. His capture weapon might not hold, but if he could get close enough—
Before he could act, a sudden, piercing shriek filled the air.
Not from you.
From the fire itself.
The white-hot flames surged violently, expanding outward like a living creature—lashing at the ground, leaving behind deep scorch marks. The entire battlefield was becoming unstable.
Aizawa’s eyes widened slightly. This had to stop.
“Everyone, back up!” he commanded, his voice sharp and unwavering. His gaze flickered to the staff area, where the pro heroes were now on their feet. “We need reinforcements—NOW.”
Bakugou, despite his injuries, growled. “Like hell I’m backing down!”
Aizawa shot him a deadly glare. “That’s an order, Bakugou. This isn’t just a fight anymore.” Bakugou gritted his teeth but didn’t argue further. He wasn’t stupid—he knew when shit was bad.
And right now?
This was a whole new level of dangerous.
Alarms went off, and the students were ushered behind them.
“We can help!” Iida screamed as Midnight held him back. She shook her head.
“This is bigger than you all. I trust you with my life, but this girl—” she pointed at you, half-drowning in your own flames—“this has never happened before! Do not do anything irrational for our sake!” she cried, trying to create distance between the flames and the students.
Suddenly, a flame was being thrown towards them
“Duck!!” Present Mic screamed, Activating his quirk as they all ducked on the ground.
“MOVE!”
All Might was already in motion, his body a blur as he leaped into the air. Even in his weakened state, his instincts were razor-sharp. With a single, powerful swing of his arm, he sent a burst of wind toward the oncoming flames, redirecting them just before they could consume the students.
The fire scattered, but it didn’t go out. It didn’t even weaken.
All Might landed in a crouch, his expression grim as he took in the battlefield. “These flames… they’re not normal.” His voice was tense, low, nothing like his usual booming confidence.
Aizawa grit his teeth, keeping his stance low. “Tell me something I don’t know.”
Deku and Bakugou were still near the front, their bodies coiled and ready for action despite the obvious danger. Deku’s hands clenched into trembling fists, his mind racing at a million miles per second.
This isn’t normal—this isn’t normal—what’s happening to her?!
He’d never seen flames like these, not even from Todoroki. They were alive, writhing unnaturally, burning hotter than anything he’d ever felt. And your eyes—
“Shit,” Bakugou muttered beside him, wiping at the sweat dripping down his face. His usual arrogance had been replaced with something sharper, more serious. “She’s losing it.”
Aizawa didn’t take his eyes off you, already preparing to counter whatever happened next. “She’s not just losing it,” he said, voice grave. “She’s burning herself out.”
All Might straightened, his fists tightening at his sides. “We need to get her under control before she burns everything—including herself— to the ground.”
Just as he said it, a new presence entered the battlefield.
Aizawa’s eyes flickered toward the side as Endeavor stormed onto the scene, his own flames roaring to life. His expression was unreadable, but there was something in his posture—something different. He wasn’t here just as a hero.
He was here because he recognized exactly what was happening. “Step back.” His voice was deep, final. “I’ll handle this.”
Bakugou scoffed, still panting from the fight. “Yeah? Where the hell were you before this got outta hand?”
Endeavor ignored him, his piercing gaze locked solely on you. All might stood next to him, protecting bakugou and deka from the flames. Everyones gaze locked onto you,
Until you suddenly weren’t there
You moved quickly, as a white fire wip grabbed endeavours arm, as if it saw him as an enemy and not an ally
Endeavor barely had time to react before the white-hot flame wrapped around his arm, tightening like a vice. The heat was unbearable—even for him. This wasn’t normal fire. With a sharp grunt, he wrenched his arm free, his flames flaring in retaliation. But as soon as he turned, you were gone again.
Fast. Too fast.
"Where—?"
"Above!"
All Might’s voice rang out just in time. Endeavor’s instincts kicked in, and he barely managed to twist to the side before you came down like a meteor, flames crashing into the ground where he had just stood. The earth cracked under the force of your attack, a shockwave of searing heat forcing everyone nearby to stumble back..
Your face was eerily blank. No recognition. No hesitation. Just raw, uncontrolled instinct.
And the fire was moving on its own.
That was the real problem. It was acting like it had a mind of its own, striking out without you even needing to direct it. Like it had decided Endeavor was a threat—on its own. All Might’s voice was tense, urgent. “We can’t let this continue.” But before anyone could make a move, a new voice cut through the chaos.
“OI!”
Everyone’s heads snapped toward Bakugou. He was already moving. Ignoring the heat, ignoring the flames, he charged straight toward you. “Kacchan! stop!” Midoriya’s voice was desperate, but Bakugou didn’t even hesitate.
He saw it—what the others didn’t.
Yeah, the flames were out of control. Yeah, you weren’t responding. But you hadn’t attacked him. Not with this hateful purpose he saw with endeavour anyways
He wasn’t the enemy.
“Snap the hell out of it!” His voice was raw, loud enough to punch through the roaring flames.
But you didn’t react.
Bakugou gritted his teeth. Fine. If words weren’t enough—
He grabbed your wrist. A shockwave of heat burst from your skin, sending sparks flying as his glove instantly caught fire. The smell of burning fabric hit the air, but he didn’t let go.
“You hear me?! Cut this shit out already!”
Your body jerked.
The flames stuttered.
For the first time, your blank eyes flickered.
Not black.
Not empty.
Yours.
And just like that—
The fire collapsed.
The white-hot flames vanished, pulling inward as if a switch had been flipped. The battlefield fell silent. The only sound was your sharp, ragged breathing.
The weirdest part was
You weren’t burned at all.
Your legs buckled, and Bakugou caught you before you could hit the ground. His hand was badly burned, but he barely reacted, just grumbling under his breath as he steadied you.
“Dumbass,” he muttered. “Next time, warn us before you go nuclear, yeah?”
You cracked a tired smile, your voice barely above a whisper. “You think I wanted to go all ‘nuclear’?”
Your body was slowly giving out, but through the blur of your vision, you could see All Might running toward you. He gently picked you up from Bakugou’s arms as you lulled into sleep against him.
“Dad..” Was the last thing you said before hearing someone scream “someone warn recovery girl!”
And everything went black.
——
The first thing you felt was a soft paw on your hand, indicating that nezu had heard about the incident.
Of course he knows
You blinked slightly, the bright light shining too bright for your liking in your eyes. Shifting slightly, you moved to see Nezu at the side of your bed, worry seeable in that expression of his.
You smiled weakly in your pillow, looking at him. “It feels like a truck just drove through my body..” You groaned, “what happened..?”
“You lost control,” Aizawa said bluntly, his tired eyes scanning you. “Badly.”
Your head pounded as the memories came rushing back. The heat. The flames licking at your skin. The way everything had blurred together in a haze of white fire. You had never felt that kind of power before—it had been overwhelming, all-consuming.
“God..” You shot up but winced, “Is everyone okay?? Did someone get hurt??” You panicked as nezu grabbed your hand tighter.
“Calm yourself,” he said, voice gentle but firm. “Panicking will only make things worse.”
You forced yourself to take a breath, your body still trembling from exhaustion. Your eyes darted around the room, searching for any signs of disaster. “But—my flames—”
“No one was seriously hurt,” Aizawa interrupted, his gaze heavy. “Some minor burns, a few close calls, but nothing fatal.”
Your heart pounded. “I—”
“You lost control,” he said, tone blunt but not unkind. “But you didn’t completely lose yourself. You didn’t attack anyone directly.”
That should have been comforting, but it wasn’t. Your hands curled into fists against the blanket. “That doesn’t change the fact that I could have.”
“It doesn’t,” Nezu agreed, but his eyes—calculating and impossibly sharp—held something else. “Which is why we need to figure out why this happened and how to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”
Endeavor scoffed from where he stood, arms still folded. “It was rage. Pure and simple.”
You turned to glare at him, anger bubbling beneath your skin despite your exhaustion. “You think I wanted to lose control?”
“I think you let it consume you,” he replied coldly. “I’ve seen it before.”
Your fingers twitched, flames threatening to spark at your fingertips before you took a deep breath and forced them down. Nezu tilted his head, watching you closely. “This isn’t just about anger, is it?”
You hesitated. The truth was, you didn’t know. It had been rage—anger at Bakugou, at the past, at yourself—but it had been something more, something deeper. Something you still couldn’t explain.
Aizawa sighed, rubbing his temples. “For now, just rest. We’ll deal with this when you’re stronger.”
You wanted to argue, to demand answers, but the exhaustion was already pulling you down again. You let out a shaky breath, nodding slightly. Nezu finally released your hand, offering you a small smile. “We’ll figure this out together.”
You sighed as everyone left the room, your head hitting the pillow as you could only think of the disaster that happened today. ‘My new friends are going to hate me..’ She mumbled softly, as she closed her eyes again, letting sleep take her away again.
——
Screams. That was all she could hear.
The air reeked of burning flesh, though she wasn’t sure if it was hers. Heat rippled through the darkness, pressing against her skin like a living thing, whispering against her ears like voices from the abyss. She touched her cheek—her skin was intact, yet the sensation of melting wouldn’t fade.
Then, through the inferno, a figure emerged. Cloaked in shadow and fire, its presence commanded the very flames to part around it. It moved with an unnatural grace, as if the world bent to its will.
“Do not be afraid, princess,” the figure spoke, its voice a deep, silken purr that sent ice down her spine despite the unbearable heat. “When the time is right, I will come for you.”
Her breath caught in her throat. There was something wrong with its presence, something ancient and absolute. The way it stood—poised, patient, knowing—made her feel as though this moment had already been decided, written in fire and brimstone long before she was even born.
She wanted to move, to run, but the ground beneath her was no longer solid. The flames curled at her feet like living tendrils, waiting. Watching.
The figure took another step forward, and the fire pulsed with it, as if bound to its will. She could see its face now—or what should have been a face. Instead, shifting darkness obscured its features, except for its eyes. Two burning pits of gold, glowing with something far worse than malice. Devotion.
“I serve only my master,” the figure murmured, tilting its head. “And you, my dear, belong to him.”
The fire surged, and suddenly, a hand—its hand—reached for her. The moment its fingers brushed against her skin, a searing pain exploded through her palm, as if hell itself had branded her. The agony pulled a scream from her throat, but the sound was swallowed by the inferno.
She was falling.
Falling into him. Into his world.
And then—
She woke up.
Gasping, her body jerking upright, the darkness of her room pressing in around her. The flames were gone, but her skin still burned. Her heart pounded against her ribs, her breath uneven.
She looked down at her trembling hand.
A fresh burn mark had appeared on her palm, the imprint of an outstretched hand. The pain was dull now, but the heat still smoldered beneath her skin, a silent reminder of what had touched her. She clenched her fingers, but the mark remained, unmoving—a brand, a promise, a warning. Something was going on.

Decided to try and upload extra details of my mud kingdom au! starting with the first part of the story and going over the 5 acts of the story
firstly, I want to explain what the au itself is, to summarize, it’s one where the DoD have a storyline within the Mud Kingdom, with a big difference starting when Glory actually leaves at the beginning instead of Tsunami finding a convincing her to give Clay a chance
now to go over Part 1, with the new name of the au dropped at the bottom
Part 1: Talons of the Queen
-It starts with The DoD realizing Glory had left in the middle of the night, with Clay being frantic trying to find her, before Tsunami realized Glory must had left because of Clay and Peril, which baffles Clay to hear, shocked Glory would think something like that. unbeknownst to him and the others, Glory actually overhears this slightly, and begins to think about going back, not knowing how to however
-We then have the moment of Clay and the others entering the Mud Kingdom, with Clay then meeting Cattail once again, this time without Glory, and because of that, he storms off in a much worse emotional state due to not having a reason to keep face, with him angry at the situation, at Glory leaving, and Tsunami seeming to almost blame him for what happened, even if she denies it
-Clay then recoups with Tsunami and Sunny, as he tells them he just wants to leave, which Tsunami then gets excited about, wanting to get to the sea kingdom so she can finally meet her mother, while Sunny wants them to find Starflight still, which Clay agrees with, only for Starflight, like in book 1, to be brought back again, with them all preparing to head off, with Clay still shielding his current mood. a camouflaged Glory however is close behind them, and trying to think of how to rejoin with them, fearing Clay hates her now
-however, just as they all begin to fly out, something completely shakes everything up, as Tsunami is suddenly struck by a massive boulder, knocking her straight out of the air, and into the ground slightly below
“TSUNAMI.” Clay and Sunny shouted out, as they all dived down to check on her, with it clear she was in terrible condition from the unexpected attack, what could have done it? a catapult? no. A force of nature? In a way…
“Young Dragonets.” spoke above them all the assailant, flying high in the air, glaring down upon the 4 dragonets, before lowering herself down, as she revealed herself
She, whose Strength is Without Parallel
She, who is The Greatest of Dragons
She, who is The Unscarred Warrior
She, who has Never Known Defeat
She, who is The Queen of Mudwings
Queen Moorhen, Powerful as she is Beautiful, and a many times over greater presence, exerting power with every wingbeat, as she descended down.
“You are to come with me as prisoners of The Mud Kingdom, and if fate holds against you, be yet another casualty of The Sandwing Queen Burn.” Queen Moorhen declared, as Starflight was overcome with fear, Sunny overcome with shock, and Tsunami fading to unconsciousness from Moorhens attack
Only 2 still had any ability within them to process thought, one of which was still invisible to all other eyes, leaving only Clay, overcome with desperation
“wait! please, is their anything we can do?” Clay pleaded, standing between Moorhen and his sibs, unsure of what might have to happen, unsure of what he can do, but knowing he must do something to save them, even if it costs him everything
“For what, exactly?” Queen Moorhen interrogated
“My friend’s safety. Please! If at least something to save Tsunamis life!” Clay pleaded to her once more, as she looked upon him with a mix of pity and determination in her eyes, as she gleamed down into Clays own determined eyes.
“There shall be, come with me for a moment.” Queen Moorhen stated, as she turned to a Mudwing and told them to quickly find a medic to treat Tsunamis wounds, as Queen Moorhen pulled Clay aside.
-Queen Moorhen then gave Clay a simple choice, either he shall be taken prisoner by her, and the other DoD shall be allowed to be free within the kingdom
and Clay did not let her even voice the second option, as he immediately agreed to let himself be taken prisoner if it meant the others may survive.
“…I see, well then, I advise you say your final goodbyes.” Queen Moorhen spoke, as the weight of Clays decision began to weigh on him
“final goodbyes?…”
“Yes, truthfully, you will most certainly never see them again.”
“…I understand…but, I want you to swear to me, or make a royal oath, or whatever the highest authority of a promise is for you, that all of my friends will go completely unharmed under all circumstances.”
“Very well, I promise their utmost safety, and shall hand you my own head if my word is to ever be compromised.
-Clay then told Sunny and Starflight his decision, and gave the two a final hug, and the unconscious Tsunami a final goodbye, as Sunny had to be held back by a Mudwing as Clay and Moorhen flew off, only stopping after Moorhen threatened to end Clays life if she followed
-Unbeknownst to them all however, a camouflaged dragonet followed close behind them, not wishing to have Clay be left alone, even with her previous decisions…
-Even so, one thing was clear, The Dragonets had been utterly broken apart, all by the Talons of The Queen, and so begins
The Decisive Victory

Note
I’ve thought about how Clay was likely malnourished as a dragonet but now I wish we had more characters actually note that(particularly near the end of book one since that’s the most we get of Mudwings)
I mean really, since it’s implied/shown Clay was fed about the same as the other DoD, despite being MUCH bigger, it would likely mean he wasn’t eating as much as he should’ve
That's exactly what I was thinking.
It's noted in I think the second chapter of the first book that he was able to eat seconds since Webs was still out, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he tried to get any extra food he could due to being malnourished (he was also worried he would get in trouble for eating extra even though he asked Dune and he gave him permission, just as a side note).
Also, it's quite literally a plot point that the guardians knew nothing about MudWings, so it wouldn't be at all surprising to me if they wouldn't properly be feeding Clay. And on top of that, he's even big for a MudWing due to being a bigwings. Sunny is maybe like half his size at most? So it'd make sense to feed him more than the others, but as we all know they didn't exactly care about the well being of these kids. Just as long as they're alive, their job is done.

Chenford and The Rookie S6
This is a post where I vent my frustrations with The Rookie season 6 and the Chenford breakup. I will take questions, but I do not guarantee an answer. Retain the fact that this is a TV show I am mad at, not someone/thing in your personal life.
Tumblr media
This month/few weeks haven't been great for me to absorb what happened in the last episodes of the season. Some of the reasons are listed below before I start sounding off.
-Unrelated but irritating:
Working 3 jobs, only 1 is paid.
Crunch time at all 3 jobs
Visiting family expecting all of my time (same crunch weeks as work)
-Related and disappointing:
Cancelled cameo
Cancelled convention appearance
Sloppy SM and PR, frequently missing Melissa
Short S6
Late S7 renewal announcement
Delayed start S6 and extra-long hiatus before S7
Specifics:
Okay, so in 606 Tim lied - so did Lucy and Lopez. Why was there no IA investigation for them or concern about their honour? We were led to believe in 214 (Casualties) that everyone involved in an off-book mission could be compromised. So now why is the fact that Tim is lying more important than either woman compromising their career? Why is there no acknowledgement of THEIR discomfort? Lucy was already on shaky ground after he let her take the blame for SOME RANDOM SCENE COPS??!!? at the clown murder before her detective exam, but now I’m supposed to be worried about Sergeant Spotless-Record Bradford and his honour?! He could have just let that Ray guy go, or even fucking TOLD SOMEONE. He'd still have saved the Venezuelan, but it would have been above board.
And then, apparently the breakup happened over the aforementioned lying and Tim and Mark’s coverup of Ray’s misdeeds. We got no further clarification on this. And I really tried. I read deeply, DEEPLY into Tim’s reasoning (there are tumblr posts and twitter threads). I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I earnestly plead with people on twitter to give it time. But instead of that patience paying off, all we got was Tim trying to act normal, Lucy justifiably pissed, and generalised "things" opened up in (blackmail) therapy?
(Here’s where people have been coming at me too: I don’t really care about the therapy storyline. Honestly, if it’s not done well, I don’t know why we bother. I'm not out to get therapy, I just don't think it's working here. Just mention it and carry on like with Lucy after DOD, or show some scenes from the damn sessions. But turning the therapist into a blackmailer for Monica, who was selling to The Swiss?!?? or an Argentinian??? (I don’t even know and I do not care, and I will not listen if you try to explain, lalalalalala) How did we even end up here???)
And it PISSES ME OFF that we spent years building up the momentum for there to be turbulence in their relationship over Lucy going UC. We were ready. We were waiting. The traps were laid and baited. And they just went PSYCH! IT’S TIM’S ARMY DAYS THAT ARE THE PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH WE LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE HE WAS WELL ADJUSTED BACK IN 214 WITH MITCH AND 311 WITH KATIE BARNES LOLOLOL
We have spent SO MUCH time on Tim's backstory. In fact, here's a list!
Isabel - wife -> ex-wife, UC drug addict, unfaithful
Tom Bradford - abusive father
Army - Let Mitch get his leg blown up; told Katie to let it go with a ladybird; unblemished record;
Cop Buddies - Wrigley -> lazy; Mack -> Addict;
Love Interests - Isabel, Rachel, Ashley
Family - Genny and Tyler (and some other nephew, and apparently a niece and a drunk uncle)
Here is what we know about Lucy:
Mother, Vanessa and father, Patrick, are psychologists and hard on Lucy
Mother had an affair with a patient (also named Patrick) who is Lucy's father, but - boo - he's dead. So is bff Jackson.
Aunt Amy and unseen Nana are nice.
Lucy's other love interests (206 ex, Emmet, Chris, TIMOTHY BRADFORD) have been assholes.
NOW WHOSE FECKIN BACKSTORY DO WE NEED TO SEE MORE OF???
(sorry to those of you who have heard all this from me before, I am literally typing my sporadic thoughts with you guys into longform)
Look, no doubt characters on this show need therapy, but if we’re just gonna make it a vehicle for some random side-characters to have an entire story arc, then WHY? And like, we were misled with the Bailan getting-pregnant storyline too, only to end back up where we started with fostering - because it’s only worth second place if your ovaries are geriatric. LIKE? SO. MANY. PROBLEMATICS.
It’s as if The Rookie plotters were given the outline to the exam questions… then tried to make the answers fit all the WRONG QUESTIONS (I may be speaking from experience). If the cards are laid out one way, don’t struggle to make a different answer fit. Just use what you’ve got, and use it wisely. Especially when it’s been working so well.
And another thing!!! Canon is not fiction - we all know that. We’ve all seen the ones who get carried away with fanon Chenford and ‘Lucy is vegan’-type imaginings that were never actually true. But saying if we don't like canon then we should just write or read fiction to deal with it is only serving to send people deeper into denial. There is a point where you are not crazy, and the writers did something stupid and you start understanding what ‘jumped the shark’ actually means.
Speaking of outdated TV lingo, I saw a really good tweet from Brian_Cronin :
TV showrunners accepting the "truism" that getting "will they/won't they?" characters together hurts the show, always citing Moonlighting, is because they like "rules" that remove their responsibility, as "Don't write the show poorly once they're together" puts the onus on them.
This goes for Chenford. No, Eric Winter. No, Alexi Hawley. We don’t need to see a breakup because it’s more like ‘reality’. Here’s a shocker: we come to watch a COP show, in this age of police brutality, global dictatorships, internationally ignored genocide, timelines full of dead babies and the constant looming threat of utter climate destruction to ESCAPE from reality. We are not watching a COP SHOW - A SHOW ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST VIOLENT, ABUSIVE POLICE FORCES IN THE WESTERN WORLD - for “reality”. Get your fucking head in the game. We supported you through pandemics and strikes, and you pull this season of SHIT on us.
I love all the characters, but I’m hooked for chenford. And I feel really badly treated.
If I was marking your exam, you’d get a failing grade.
“Started off well - linked UC storyline to previously-hinted relationship trauma. Dropped the plot entirely mid-way and brought in a host of unknowns. Tried to blame breakup on army issues previously marked as ‘resolved’, instead of UC drugs and unfaithful wife/abusive father? Reused names multiple times. Confusing and inconsistent. Fatally underused Chen character - inexplicably failing downwards, while Nolan character inexplicably promoted upwards. Use basic research next time."
