I imagine the underlying principle of being upset by the proposed TikTok ban is that hatred of government regulation trumps all other hatreds, which makes sense, but it's weird to see how many people apparently love TikTok now, after I thought we all agreed it was in fact the worst thing in the world and that it poisoned the internet and our species incurably

I'm just going to get this off my chest.

I don't like the Olympics (anymore). I used to like them, 'cause I got to see sports I never knew existed.

But there's too much Nationalism for my taste, and too many athletes (particularly the young gymnasts) who are abused and overworked for the sake of "Bringing Glory to their Homeland".

(And this year, one of the elite equestrians was banned for being caught on video whipping her horse, and another horse was pulled from competition for having a bloody mouth).

And I just ... Nope. No thanks.
