I have disputed the linking of this "violation" to a previous violation MONTHS AGO--their "first notice" in this case was a "Courtesy Notice" LITERALLY 5 MONTHS AGO and they've done so many inspections since then and my bin CLEARLY WASN'T OUT IN THOSE INTERVENING MONTHS so WTMFH

So I am posting like a crazy person here instead of sending the absolutely deranged email I almost sent (I did send a slightly less deranged version with the disputes, and requesting a hearing)

Like. The game is very transparently skewed in advantage towards players with deeper pockets. Rares and Mythic Rares often have price tags upwards of $5 per card, and to be “competitive” with your deck construction you Need these cards; often they make up about 60% of your 60 or 100 card deck, if not more. Theres not really any way around the fact that cards are produced in a limited quantity, and the cards with the most powerful effects are also the rarest and most sought-after.

Compounding this is the fact that magic (the actual card game) is a game of resources and incremental advantages. Being able to play a spell one turn ahead of everyone else can often mean that your opponents are too busy building their boards to hold up removal for your board, or it can mean having seeing just enough cards that you get to draw your winning pieces. Especially once you’ve played high-powered magic, the difference is palpable what becomes possible on the first couple of turns of the game. To claim otherwise is just silly.

So with all this in mind, I think its absolutely wild that theres a large section of the community that insist upon the importance of making sure every card you play with is 100% legitimate, that you bought with your own money from Wizards of the Coast or another player. Literally nothing is stopping anyone from going onto MTGprint.com and pasting a decklist and going to their local Staples to print out an entire deck, only having to pay for the paper and ink its printed on. But people get sooooo mad at the thought that someone didnt have to be playing the game for 10+ years and spend thousands on cards to play with some of the most powerful game pieces in a format. They sputter up and down about how other people have bigger and more expensive collections and you just have to accept it as part of the game lmao. Like again, blatantly implying that someone’s monetary investment means they have a right to a certain game experience that you dont.
