One of the few dinosaurs we actually know the approximate colors of, Anchiornis huxleyi. By studying the melanosomes, color-determining pigments within fosilized feathers or skin, scientists can infer that Anchiornis had black, grey and white featheres across it's body with a reddish crest on it's head.

I, of course, stylized the colors, but I think it turned out pretty good. I tried to make it look like a chill little bird with the poses being mostly neutral and not so dynamic.

i think i much prefer pre-wwd paleo documentaries instead of post-wwd ones tbh... cause cgi dinosaurs is very hit or miss for me and most ive seen try too hard to make dinosaurs appealing to the average audience by making them bigger and constantly fighting and hunting but pre-wwd docs are about paleontology as in, the subject of study and the study itself. i forgot the documentary name but there's one in particular from the 90's that's about the history of paleontology from ye ole "giant scrotum" days up to like, jurassic park and it's so lovely seeing the study evolve, alongside the depiction of dinosaurs and etc in popular culture... paleontology is at heart for niche nerds i love documentaries that embrace that
