In terms of backstory:

After the fire she's alone. Her birth family disowned her long ago. She thinks about revamping the mansion but the idea of staying in that empty space with only memories for company is too much. So she eventually opens a small store.

Starts off paranoid and distant. Still is distant but gets entangled with the local community overtime. Greets people by name and they'll chat about how life has been going. This includes demon hunters and demons and supernatural beings living peacefully; her shop becomes a small safe haven to exchange information to stay safe.

Gets very good at forging protective charms. Haunted by the memory of the enchanted closet, smashed in and empty.

A regular is a schoolgirl who originally came to pick up reserved books for her father but stuck around because hey, this place is quiet and interesting, and the owner serves stellar teacakes. Great place to study. To Mary, Eva's kind, though odd, secretive and a little lonely.

I got inspired by Eva's association with the bangle/bracelet of time and the amulets for her fighting style. It's based around item crafting, like an RPG character slapping on every stat boosting item.

Meanwhile the twins are having a terrible time but they have each other, even if they don't remember they're brothers. I think it'd be sweet if they have a bond anyway. Everyone else thinks they're rivals at best.

(Nelo is Mundus' favourite to toy with as the proud, eldest son. But when he gets rough, Bianco butts in and acts up for Mundus' attention. Happy Father’s Day!

Okay, okay, considering what my fic is about I felt obliged to post something today :)

Here is the prologue. It’s just Rex finding out he’s a dad (he’s gonna be happy about it I promise, he’s just a little overwhelmed). Also, sorry, no baby domino twins yet, we’ll get there soon (Next Sunday).

Rex turned restlessly in his sleep, his forehead dotted with sweat despite the chill of the December night air. The room was silent but for his quiet breaths, dark but for the soft red glow from the digits on his alarm clock. It was not set to go off for another two hours.

Rex shifted again, rolling onto his back and throwing off the covers, a small, uncomfortable groan escaping from his parted lips. Then, his breathing hitched and stopped completely, his chest failing to rise. His face paled, shining against the dark sheets in the dim light.

Nothing moved.

Not the flutter of a curtain or the twitch of a muscle.

Everything was still.

Then, in an almost imperceptible movement, Rex’s eyes cracked open. Not quickly, the way one does when pulled from the depths of a nightmare, but slowly, as if from a dream one cannot quite place, a dream that is forgotten as soon as it is over.

The stillness was now broken, and the silence soon followed as he gulped down ragged breaths to refill his depleted lungs. He did not sit, not yet; he lay, content to breathe and stare at the ceiling above him.

It was Tuesday. Before dawn. Yesterday he had closed one of his biggest cases. Today he would be writing up his reports. A thought like this normally bothered him. He would itch to get back into the field, to be assigned a new case, not to sit at a computer painstakingly entering information into charts, but today he felt this desire eclipsed by another. Perhaps from the dream or something else, he did not know.

 Rex pulled in next to the only other car parked outside the 501st district police station. He did not need to look to know it was Cody’s. His brother always seemed to be in the office and for once, Rex was grateful towards Cody’s insomniac tendencies. He could use the company.

Rex cut the ignition and sunk back into his seat, closing his eyes. He had felt off ever since he woke up. There was a strange feeling in his chest he could only describe as anticipation: a mixture of excitement and dread, nervousness and hope. The feeling was not new to him, but the way it sprouted seemingly out of nowhere was.

He sighed, opening his eyes, and running a hand through his short blonde curls. He had thought the hot shower and quiet 5 am drive down to the station would have soothed the feeling away, but clearly he had been wrong. Rex took a few more minutes to collect himself before he stepped out of his car and made his way into the station.

Cody was sitting behind a large oak desk, hunched over a thick stack of papers lying on top of an opened manilla folder. When Rex moved into the doorway of his office, he looked up, eyes going wide before darting over to the clock above the door, then narrowing in on Rex.

“Rex?”

“Cody.”

“You’re here early.”

Rex nodded, dropping heavily into the chair in front of his brother’s desk.

Cody glanced down at his papers, hesitating, before pushing them aside and leaning his forearms on the desk, “What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” Rex fidgeted, suddenly embarrassed. He didn’t even know how to explain his feeling to himself, how could he explain it to his brother?

Cody cocked an eyebrow, waiting for Rex to elaborate. When he didn’t Cody leaned back in his chair, “You look tired. There’s a cot in the closet, I could—”

“No,” Rex cut him off, standing abruptly. “I just… I just need to work. To focus on work.”

Cody hummed knowingly, sliding the folder back in front of him as Rex made his way out.

 Work that morning was slow and by lunch the past six hours of typing up reports felt more like six days. Rex dragged himself into the kitchen to make a second cup of coffee and maybe grab something to eat from the vending machine since he forgot to pick something up on his way in.

As he was flattening a crumpled dollar bill to fit it into the vending machine, he heard rustling behind him. Rex turned around and saw Wolffe holding out a brown paper bag.

“Apparently I’m Cody’s delivery boy now,” Wolffe said, nodding to the bag, “It’s a Reuben.”

Rex took the bag and mumbled an apology before ducking his head and reaching for his wallet in his back pocket for more money.

“Don’t worry about it, it’s covered,” Wolffe said rolling his eyes—well, his eye—and hitching his thumb towards Cody’s office. Before stalking out of the kitchen, Wolffe leaned in and smirked, “You look like shit, man.”

Rex grimaced and sat down with the sandwich. It was good, he had to admit, but hard to enjoy. His mind kept wandering to the feeling of anticipation coursing through his veins that had only been growing as the day wore on. He had been doing so well recently. He had wrapped up a major gang related violence case and gotten a promotion, been best man at Bly’s wedding, and had just agreed with his therapist that he no longer needed weekly counseling sessions.

His heart felt like it skipped a beat, and Rex took in a short sharp breath, then shook his head, chuckling; maybe Kenobi had been wrong in his assessment of his wellbeing. He sighed, dumped his half-eaten sandwich in the trash, and made his way back to his desk.

 Rex was in the middle of a meeting when he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. All eyes turned to him, and he quickly reached into his jeans and switched it to silent mode without checking the number.

Cody paused, crossing his arms in front of his chest before continuing to brief him and the rest of the 501st on… whatever it was he was briefing them on. Rex was too focused on counting his breaths and trying to suppress the awful feeling that kept washing over him. It only became worse with every passing minute. He felt his eyes glossing over and he diverted his gaze to the floor, vaguely aware of his hands fidgeting in his lap.

“Rex?”

Rex’s head snapped to attention, eyes focusing in on Cody’s creased brow as his older brother knelt down in front of him. Rex shifted in the chair looking anywhere around the now empty room except at Cody.

“C’mon, old boy,” Cody said trying to catch his eye, “What happened?”

Rex shrugged; he honestly did not have an answer for that.

“Do you…” Cody trailed off, eyes darting back and forth, “Do you want to come over for dinner?”

Rex began to shake his head to refuse the offer but stopped when he met Cody’s pleading eyes. His brother was just as worried as he was. About what, he had no clue, but it would be better to have something to distract himself with, even if that something was Cody grumbling at the TV about which play they should have made during the football game.

“Okay.”

Cody smiled and straightened up, “Alright, give me five and we’re out of here.”

As Cody left the meeting room Rex dug his phone out of his pocket and scoffed as his screen showed the time to be 4:55 pm. Of course Cody would make sure they left no earlier than 5. The scoff died in his throat as he caught sight of two new notifications.

A missed call and a voicemail.

Both from the same number.

The caller ID was labeled “KCPS.”

Rex blinked. His face went pale, and he clutched his chair like at any moment the gravity in the room might reverse.

He was done with the system. He had been done with the system when Cody, one year his senior, had aged out and assumed responsibility for him seven years ago. They couldn’t make him go back. They couldn’t—

Rex shook his head, trying to steady his labored breathing. They couldn’t make him go back because he was a 24-year-old man. He was no longer a child. He no longer depended on the system.

His breathing evened out and slowed. He clicked open his phone. If CPS wasn’t calling to collect him, then what were they calling for? He hit play on the new voicemail and held the phone up to his ear.

Hello. This is Taun We from Kamino Child Protective Services. We are trying to reach Rex Fett. If you are Rex Fett, please call this number back immediately. Our number is…

Rex dropped the phone from his ear and redialed the number. His heart was pounding in his chest. As the first tone rang Cody appeared in the closed glass doorway. Rex held up a finger and turned so the phone would be visible to his brother. Cody gave him a thumbs up and a quick smile just as the call connected.

“Hello?” Rex started, his pulse beginning to beat in his temples.

Hello, this is Taun We from Kamino Child Protective Services. How may I help you?

“I, uh, received a call earlier today asking for me to call you back,” Rex said before hastily adding, “This is Rex. Rex Fett.”

Yes, of course. Mr. Fett.

The woman on the other end of the line paused for a moment to shuffle around papers. After a few seconds she found what she was looking for and continued.

Your children Echo and Fives Se have been removed from the custody of their mother Nala Se. Because you are their biological father, they will now be placed in your care. Are you currently residing in the country?

“Yes,” Rex froze, unable to do anything other than answer her question.

And you are currently employed as a police officer of the 501st district?

“Yes.”

Are you physically and mentally fit to care for a child?

“Yes.”

Rex couldn’t breathe.

We will be waiting for you at the Kamino CPS office at 32 and Broad Street where you will be able to collect your children. At what time do you expect to arrive?

Rex opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He looked to Cody for help.

Cody’s mouth was set in a tight line, brows pushed together, concern written across his features. As soon as he saw Rex’s eyes meet his, he pushed his way through the door.

What? Cody mouthed, stopping an arm’s length away from Rex and eyeing his phone.

All Rex could do was shake his head, eyes wide and teary.

A woman’s voice crackled to life from the phone. Excuse me, Mr. Fett? Are you still there? What time will you be arriving?

Now that Cody was in the room, he could hear the woman on the other side of the phone clearly. He extended his hand towards Rex’s phone, seeking approval from his eyes before taking it gently from the death grip Rex was holding it in.

Cody held the phone to his ear and put a hand on Rex’s shoulder, gently squeezing, “Good afternoon, this is Cody Fett. Rex’s brother. He had to… step out for a moment. Where are we to be arriving to?”

Please report to the Kamino CPS office at 32 and Front Street. Mr. Fett will be able to collect his children there. Will you be arriving this evening?

Rex was just starting to be able to sort through his thoughts as he felt Cody’s warm hand suddenly tense up on his shoulder. Rex looked up at his brother, whose tan face was quickly draining of color. His brother felt his gaze and looked down at him, flashing a quick, sad smile before responding to the CPS worker.

“We can be there in 45 minutes,” Cody looked over to Rex for confirmation and received a small nod. “Thank you. Have a nice night.”

Cody hung up the phone before the woman had a chance to respond, turned to his brother, and wrapped his arms tightly around him.

After a minute Cody pulled back to look at Rex. Rex’s tears had remained unshed, and he quickly blinked them back, “Cody, I—”

Cody held up his hands, “I know, Rex. I know. It’s alright.” Then, only after seeing Rex relax a little, “Let’s go bring them home, okay?”

Rex nodded, “Okay.”

Sending organics through a space bridge without the proper shielding wasn’t just dangerous or deadly, it was simply reckless. They could pop or worse and spread their bacteria across the universe in a single second, so why did it keep happening? Greed primarily. It was handled in time by some intergalactic agency somewhere, but those things took time and the organics weren’t getting anymore dead or alive in that moment. Reports like those were shuffled to the bottom of the stack with ease. Cybertronian technology should be watched over by the cybertronian’s, especially when the incidents are happening so deep into their space.

Besides, no one should be entering intergalactic space without the proper shielding for radiation, organic or not.

With the first few hours, hours? None of their watches were working anymore and they all had removed the internal digital clocks from their suits, a waste of energy and something that caused unneeded anxiety during a fight. Those first few hours were spent getting nowhere as exhaustion tried to take them down. Feet dragging and sliding along the solid but damp ground, unable to really get the typical footing that they’d have in dirt or sand, where their feet would just about sink in. The choice to return to the Odyssey had been made after around four hours, they hadn’t made much progress and the exhaustion was weighing them down literally. It hadn’t taken long at all really, Hound made up his mind when Sideswipe had to prevent Sunstreaker from falling over for the fifth time; they’d needed to rest and recharge before making the trek to the town or whatever was causing the artificial lights.

They were drained, they were sick, and just that morning when they’d been in space; they’d been fine so whatever brought them close to this planet had likely caused it. Sitting back against the Odyssey, Hound powered down his visor and closed his eyes; they’d been walking for hours even before they had gotten back together and now they were all almost too weak to move. His head was pounding painfully and even though there was nothing in his stomach for the moment if there was, it wouldn’t be sticking around. Everything on the ship had reset not long after they’d entered the atmosphere and now was giving them fits, or more specifically Breakdown as he had re-attached his suit to go inside and get some sleep not in his piloting chair. The twins had slumped down together and fallen right to sleep, so even though Hound was technically on watch he had his scanners going with proximity alarms set up to go off should anything other than the mechs around him show up, it would wake him.

Dreams or more so nightmares plagued them all, of Jazz and his mutilated corpse, of his destroyed mech filled with blood and the damned aliens laughing their horrific laugh through it all. It was gruesome and grotesque, but not abnormal. Part of becoming completely compatible with the suits was to hand over part of yourself to your government, company, or even just a hand full of scientists to prepare you to drift. It left its scars and one of those scars was the connection between you and your suit, sometimes between you and your suits network.

Hound woke with a start, jumping up as an alarm went off, alerting him to something approaching and fast, above them. Standing on shaky legs, his gun comes up as his visor comes back online, desperately trying to track the supersonic object above them. One second there, the next gone, “What the hell.” It certainly didn’t resemble any of the objects that had the capability to fly supersonic on Earth, looking around, there was a glow to the horizon that resembled a sunrise. Taking slow and deep breaths, Hound looks to the twins, who were still sound sleep and leaned against each other. Activating his comm, he connects to the shuttle first, “Breakdown, you up?” Pacing a bit, he walks a bit away from the Odyssey before walking back, no answer. Switching to the common channel of all mech suit users, Hound sighs before queuing his microphone, “This is Pilot 1124, Harold Jackson, callsign Hound. Anyone listening out there?” Hound’s hand shook slightly with nerves, waiting.

Sunstreaker was the next up, groaning slightly as he turned down the volume on the main channel, “Hound, not so loud, please.” Shoving Sideswipe off him less then gently, it took him a second to gain his footing, slipping slightly on the damp ground. “Damnit,” his mech stretches as he does, looking far too human for any non-pilots comfort, “I forgot where we were for a second.” Sunstreaker looks around slowly and sighs, rubbing his jaw carefully, “Feeling any better?” His gaze turns to Hound, who was still looking towards the glowing horizon, “Hey, Earth to Hound.” Walking over, his hand lands on the older mechs shoulder, “You listening to me?” “Huh, uh, yeah. Yeah, sorry.” Hound clears his throat a bit, shaking his head, “I’m feeling more alive if that’s what you mean.” Sunstreaker smiles a bit, patting his shoulder, “Yeah, me too.”

They both looked at the horizon as, whatever star they were orbiting on the planet began to rise in the distance, “Any word from home?” Sunstreaker kept his voice quiet, watching the sun rise, “None, but I haven’t check in the Odyssey, wanted to wait for Breakdown to be up before attaching.” Sunstreaker nodded, watching as the gently glow turned to a shine on the somewhat metallic surface of the planet. Though a great deal of it was orange and red, as if rusted, “Beautiful sunrise.” Hound hummed, staring at it for a while.

Breakdown was in fact the next one awake and quick to contact Hound, “You might want to get in here.” Words you never wanted to hear from anyone, especially in that tone.

Stumbling out of the tunnel into the Odyssey, Hound made his way over to Breakdown at the comms terminal, resting his hand on the mans shoulder, “I’ve got Sunstreaker keeping watch.” Breakdown grunted, “Watch, while we’re being watched maybe. There is so much overhead traffic, I can’t tell if it’s satellites or space debris.” He sighed and knocked his knuckles on the terminal, “That’s not why I called you in here though. These are.” It worried Hound, looking to the comms logs and staring at the screen there, their out going messages to Mission Control on Earth were not getting a shorter receiving range, but a longer one. Ticking over the seven years mark already and still counting up, wherever they were, it was far from Earth; “Fuck.” Nodding, Breakdown clears the screen briefly before pulling up received audio logs, “My thoughts too, then I found these.” The dates ranged, with the largest bunch being from five years ago. Sharing a glance, Hound pulled up the first one.

“1061 on the comm. In case there’s any way you can hear me… ah shit. You guys wont believe what happened…”

They stood there together, listening to the first log for over ten minutes. Looping it at least once, just listening to Jazz’s voice as he talked about finding other mech suits out here. Hound’s hand lightly covered his face, staring at the screen, he was alive, he was alive as recently as a year ago. He could be alive right now.

Then Hound’s blood began to boil, whoever Jazz had run into was probably what brought them here, for who knows what reason and sharing a look with Breakdown said enough. Whatever those people were, they certainly weren’t defending Earth and had hold of Jazz, whether he really realized it or not. “Load these into everyone’s suits and get supplies, we’re heading for the artificial lights, if it’s a civilization then we figure out where we are and where Jazz is. Then what direction we need to head to finish our mission.” Breakdown nodded, saluting briefly before pulling the main comms drive and heading for a different part of the Odyssey. Hound moved over to their make shift kitchen and got out water pouches along with food packets, they had enough for a significant amount of time but their mission just had a wrench thrown into it so who knows how long it would actually last.

Turning around, Hound moved to climb back into his suit as Sunstreaker and Sideswipe climbed from theirs, faces red with anger.

There would be hell to pay and it would be paid in spades thanks to four pissed off mecha pilots.

It was raining when they got back into their mechs, adjusting the setting to keep the cameras and scanners clear, preparing their weapons and adjusting comm frequencies to avoid the disturbances from the rain. Hound’s suit was the first to alert to the fact that the rain was not made entirely of water, a rather small amount of it actually, “It’s acidic.” Sideswipe was holding out a hand, sensors and scanners checking over the rain, “Oh that’s just great, acidic rain.” Sunstreaker puts his hands on his head and paces away for a second before untying his parachute from his mechs shoulders, “Think this will protect my paint job?” He sounded so hopeful, turning to look at Hound, who was using his chute to cover the Odyssey, “I doubt it, but it would be better suited to protect the Odyssey, since it will be sitting out here in the wet.” Sunsteaker clutched the chute, like a small child holding a blanket before groaning and moving over to help, “It’ll be fine Sunny, I’ll fix the paint later.” Sideswipe tried to sound reassuring, hiding his laughter, “Better your mech than your own body.”

Once the Odyssey was covered, they fell back into position DC-19, one on point, two just behind to the left and right, then one at the back. Hound was on point, gun up and splashing through the acid rain puddles. The surface of the strange planet was smooth, though as the rain continued to fall it felt more brittle with each step. It was rather obvious to them at this point that wherever they had ended up, it was not like Earth, not at all.

Out of all their suits, Breakdown’s was probably the best equipped to deal with the worsening conditions, the dense armored plating was less painted and more sealed than anything else so a great deal of the acid rain was slicking off. The others weren’t as lucky with their fancy upgrades and lighter armor, streaks of where paint was coming away went down the arms and shoulders, leaving marks of green, red, and yellow in the puddles. Their feet were experiencing the worst of it unfortunately, but tread replacements were stored back aboard the Odyssey, along with printers for temporary replacement parts. Hound kept throwing his head, to get the worst of the rain off his visor and visual feeds, the entire area turning into a hazy red mess as if caught in a dust storm instead of a rain storm.

“I can’t see a thing.” Sideswipe shifts his sword some and wipes at the cameras nearest his face, “How far have we traveled Hound?” Light conversation was good, important even, “Right around 43 miles,” Sideswipe hummed, “So we’ve been walking for around an hour or so?” Hound glanced up at the sky, but the sun was no longer visible with the dense clouds, “It’s more than likely, yes.” There was a pause, “Our systems are out of alignment, it took you hours to walk thirteen miles yesterday and now it’s fine?” It hung in the air for a moment, “The Odyssey’s trajectories are fried.” Breakdown’s voice almost wavered, “Hound, check to see how far you actually walked yesterday. Whatever sent us here might have messed with the cockpit systems.” So Hound checked, swearing once the actual number came up, “That bad?” “Worse.” They walked in silence for a minute, “We need to get our suits on the same page, we can worry about the Odyssey later, it’s not going anywhere any time soon regardless.” “But the systems in the main bay seemed to be working fine, the comms array,” Sunstreaker looked to Hound, “Is better shielded, better tech than the shuttles navigational systems for certain.” They all sighed, Sideswipe worried his lip, Sunstreaker rubbed his jaw, Breakdown looked up at the sky and Hound shook his head, “We need to stay on focus, finding answers.” A hum went through the comm line in acknowledgment.

It was still incredibly hazy, orange and red, but the rain was starting to finally let up. 93 miles of walking, almost two and a half hours, roughly, as a best estimate. When the first signs of the artificial lighting appeared. Sideswipe was the first to trip on it, a strip inlaid into the ground before a field of shifting solar panels. They were dusted in a red paste, that would be the best way to describe it. Hound frowned down at Sideswipe’s prone form, “You are in a several ton, multi-million dollar mecha suit. And you’ve fallen over.” Sunstreaker found it the funniest thing in the world, laughing almost painfully loud, bet over and nearly falling onto more of the solar panels. “It’s not funny! Help me up!”

Gun fire erupted from over head, “Take cover!” Hound was quick to grab hold of Sideswipe and pull him back towards the dense haze, raising his own gun while his targeting systems came online. Breakdown was directly behind him, his mounted canon going from a hum to a deep whine before firing through the haze, the advanced targeting system seeming to tag something through the fog, Sunstreaker was right on their tail, grabbing hold of Sideswipe, “Hound, I’ve got Sides, you help Breakdown.” Nodding, Hound was quick to join Breakdown at the line, his targeting system coming online.

There were several targets within his range, more gun fire came over their heads, he leveled off his gun and started firing.

Wow, the last few days have been actually insane with this story. Never in my life, or all my years of writing have I gotten responses like this. Whether in comments or tags, it’s been such a motivator for me.

Now, I plan to write my little section for Arcturus Two soon, I promise, but I’m so invested in Arcturus One at the moment.

AU: Escaped, as well as Human Caine + Bubble

In this alternate universe Caine was actually the first human trapped in the digital circus game by his own brother, Able, because he wanted their company all to himself. But Caine figured out that if you twist the ear piece of the headset then you could leave the game. But to make sure Caine would not try to escape they trapped his six year old daughter Bethany (Bubble) in the game as well. They manipulated Caine and Bethany’s minds to make them believe they were AI, and so when new victims were trapped and were confused why Caine was an AI but could not do anything they gave him admin commands. They also made sure Bethany (Bubble) had no arms so IF Caine did end up remembering he would not leave because he would be leaving his daughter behind.

Caine and Bubble do end up remembering that they are real people and not AI thanks to all the members of the circus glitching into what we see Pomni enter in episode two with Gummigoo. They then leave thanks to Caine and enter the human world…

That’s when we learn that when one day passes in the digital world it is only an hour in the real world, so they haven’t missed much… if you don’t count Caine, Bethany and Kinger, as well as the rest which have been abstracted (and we also learn that when a human is abstracted they actually leave the digital world). That’s when we get everyone’s real names:

• Caine the Ringleader is actually Caine Eden, co-founder and head game designer for C&A, as well as a single father to his now (whatever age) year old daughter Bethany.

• Bubble the Assistant(?) is actually Bethany Eden, only daughter to Caine Eden.

• Kinger the Chess Piece is actually Kenneth King, AI specialist for C&A (thanks to the 7 years of computing science in episode 3), husband to Quinn King and father to Paige King.

• Queenie the Other Chess Piece is actually Quinn King, curator of insects (because she likes bugs), wife to Kenneth King and mother to Paige King.

• Pomni the Jester is actually Paige King, algorithm developer for C&A, daughter to Kenneth and Quinn King.

Someone may have made a comprehensive blog post on absolutely everything to do with Luo Binghe's harem somewhere, but I haven't personally seen one. This is the wiki's list of his known wives:

(I keep thinking to myself that it might be worth looking into a wiki contribution week or something so that SV fans can have these things for reference in full detail. Part of the difficulty with naming all of Luo Binghe's wives in PIDW is that there are only rough estimates for how many he had exactly and it's unclear what statuses they actually had in the harem. And I believe that he also had love interests he never actually officially married in any way.

I'm going to list off wife / love-interest characters off the top of my head here in vague summary. I'm going to request that people add on or correct me here if I'm missing anyone or straight-up wrong about anything (relevant direct quotations are always welcome). I have digital editions of the novels now, so I may control+F for "wife", "wives", and "harem" after work, then copy-paste the relevant quotations into a big document, because I'm curious now and I want to see what results that I get from that. Yusei is the lurker who nevertheless responds immediately when tagged. The guy will never hop in and voice his opinion, but the second you @ him he has replied the nanosecond you hit send. He is, however, the biggest organizer of server movie nights, voice chats, and meet-up when multiple members of them are in the same city. This au is set after his series ended, after all. He's already keeping up long distance friendships with Jack, Crow, Akiza, and the twins. He is hardcore about keeping on top of online friendships. Sometimes he'll just pop into the vc while he's working and leave it open while he tinkers.

In ascending order of activity, Yusaku probably chats the second least. This tempered though, by the fact that they are always online. 4am in the morning? Yusaku is there. Yusaku's actually more vocal in the discord than in real life, after years of growing up raised by message boards an forums. If everyone sees it's been like 25 hours since they logged off, someone will shoot a message to Kolter, or they'll just log into vrains and hunt him down like it's the most dangerous game (getting Yusaku to log off and go the fuck to sleep)

Yuya took a while to warm up the the GC, but every day gets more bold with just kicking down the doors of the chat and going off about something or another. Also he's in a minecraft server with all his brothers and the bracelet girls, so if he's online but not responding, it's probably because he's griefing Yuri's dirt house for the third time this week.

Yugi's really active in the chat, a fact that never fails to blow Yuma and Yuya's minds. He'll be at a global release sponsored by every important duel monsters company under the sun, and he'll send pictures of Kaiba caught mid sneeze with the caption 'LOL'. He will be on NATIONAL TV AND TEXTING THE GROUPCHAT. His memes are legendary.

No one knows how to quantify Yuma's activity, because there's like a 90% chance most of the messages he sends are him???? He fights by switching between modes specializing in mobility and offense. A single swipe of his huge sword can knock several foes off their feet at once. Some of his abilities also allow him to take the fight to the air.

Barret Wallace (voiced by John Eric Bentley in English, Masato Funaki in Japanese)

“This is the planet we’re talkin’ about! Y’all know she’s gonna pour her heart and soul into this fight!”

The leader of an independent Avalanche cell, Barret spearheads an operation to take down Shinra’s mako reactors. He pays a hefty price for this, however, when the company retaliates, and his comrades die in the crossfire. Armed with the memories of his lost friends and the newfound knowledge of Sephiroth’s plans, he departs Midgar in hope of saving the planet and safeguarding a future for his daughter Marlene.

What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in both sturdiness and strength, converting his anger toward Shinra into raw firepower. He employs a variety of ranged attacks, from rapid-fire salvos to powerful explosions, which allow him to strike foes high in the air or across the battlefield.

Tifa Lockhart (voiced by Britt Baron in English, Ayumi Ito in Japanese)

“Ever wish you could just snap your fingers and forget the worst stuff?”

Though a loyal member of Avalanche—an underground organization that opposes Shinra—Tifa nevertheless questions the group’s extremist tactics, struggling to reconcile her cause with her conscience. This internal conflict reaches a fever pitch when her group’s actions effectively lead to the fall of the Sector 7 plate. Racked with guilt, she leaves Midgar in search of a new path to tread.

She strings together swift combos while utilizing a variety of martial art techniques. Her ATB fills quickly, allowing for the use of multiple abilities in rapid succession. She also boasts several skills that deal more damage to airborne or staggered foes.

Aerith Gainsborough (voiced by Briana White in English, Maaya Sakamoto in Japanese)

“Just look at it all… A living, breathing planet. Even after everything we’ve done to it, it’s still going strong.”

A flower seller who lives in the Sector 5 undercity and the last remaining descendant of the Cetra, a people known for communing with the planet. Shinra takes her prisoner in their efforts to reach the Cetra’s foretold “promised land,” but Cloud and company come to her rescue. She escapes Midgar and embarks on a journey into the outside world of which she has long dreamed.

Utilizing the power of magic, she casts spells from a safe distance and launches attacks that home in on her foes. She can also conjure beneficial wards and warp between them, as well as restore the party’s HP with her limit break.

Red XIII (voiced by Max Mittelman in English, Kappei Yamaguchi in Japanese)

“I may be clad in fur…but that doesn’t mean I’ll purr.”

Red XIII is a beast with a flaming tail, crimson fur, deadly claws, and the ability to speak. Cloud and company help him escape Professor Hojo’s clutches, and he decides to join them on their journey. His species is known for their long life spans, and he is no exception. As this Cosmo Canyon native is the eldest member of the party, he offers its members words of wisdom from time to time.

He sets upon foes with an unrelenting assault, laying into them with a beastly ferocity. Guarding against incoming attacks will feed his Vengeance gauge. Once it is full, he can unleash his inner beast, but sufficient skill is required to maximize its potential.

Yuffie Kisaragi (voiced by Suzie Yeung in English, Yumi Kakazu in Japanese)

“If I win, you get the honor of serving yours truly!”

A member of Wutai’s elite corps of ninja operatives, Yuffie infiltrates Midgar on a mission to steal the “ultimate materia” from Shinra. Her plan ends in disaster, as she fails to claim the materia and loses her partner Sonon in the struggle. Just as working alone begins to take its toll on her, however, Cloud’s group comes into the picture.

Using her throwing star and ninja skills, she excels at both long- and close-range combat. Elemental ninjutsu allows her to exploit enemies’ weaknesses without relying on spells. She also keeps opponents on their toes with a variety of aerial attacks and tricky techniques.

Cait Sith (voiced by Paul Tinto in English, Hideo Ishikawa in Japanese)

“Alright, everyone! By popular request: a fortune or two to steer you true!”

A wisecracking, feline-shaped robot often seen poised atop his big moogle pal. One of the Gold Saucer’s most popular mascots, he is well loved for his fortune telling—a service he also offers to Cloud and friends. His adorable appearance also belies access to a surprising amount of insider intel on Shinra.

Sephiroth (voiced by Tyler Hoechlin in English, Toshiyuki Morikawa in Japanese)

“Don’t be afraid. It’s not death—it’s a homecoming.”

A former SOLDIER: 1st class of legendary renown, he is said to have died in the line of duty in Nibelheim five years ago. This is proven untrue when he appears at the Shinra Building and absconds with a research specimen known as “Jenova.” He now toys with Cloud at every opportunity, seeking to change the course of destiny and rule the planet.

Zack Fair (voiced by Caleb Piece in English, Kenichi Suzumura in Japanese)

“I dunno—hopes? Dreams, maybe? Something like that! So long as we’ve got those—and hold on tight and never let go.”

Zack may have worked with Sephiroth as a SOLDIER: 1st class, but he trained under a different operator, and it is from this man that he both learned to take pride in his work and received his iconic buster sword. After a grueling battle in which he overcomes the odds and cheats death, Zack returns to Midgar—where he hopes to see his love Aerith—with a mako-poisoned Cloud in tow.

Summons

A horse-riding swordsman who brandishes an enormous blade known as Zantetsuken. He gallops toward foes and sends them flying with a single, sweeping slash.

“This is the second title of a trilogy, and covers between the start of the journey outside Midgar to the midpoint of the original Final Fantasy VII. If Final Fantasy VII Remake was an introduction to the world and a preparation for this journey, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth serves as an illustration of the incidents that started the journey, an exploration of the people tied to it, and the journey itself, heading toward its climax. Many elements were carefully selected for this title and because this is a series, we have the unique opportunity to review and incorporate feedback from the previous title, such as by increasing the number of characters. I am sure that the bar for the next work will be raised even higher now that we have included so many spectacular elements in this work, but even so, the entire team continues to work diligently and without compromise on its development.

Sharp-eyed huntress whose torch glows with silvery light

Star-crowned maiden who runs trough woody hills in the dead of night

You bear a golden bow, for the chase is your greatest delight

You shoot forth true-aimed arrows, goddess most high

Of beautiful countenance, I see you everyday

For you are in every little bit of nature that happens to come my way

In the moon and the constellations that dance around her path

In every lovely flower and in the trees who stand tall

You are in the bushes, in the rustling of leaves

You are in the sprouts and you are in the seeds

The rocks overgrown by moss, the mushrooms hidden among the grass

The roots that peek from under the ground and the wall-climbing vines

Wood-throned queen, you rejoice among the nymphs of the wilds

They share with you their company and their smiles

Their lips are like soft petals, their eyes glitter like twin gems

They rush alongside you when you hunt , your ever beloved friends

And you all sing and dance in a wonderful choir

Spinning and leaping to the tune of a tortoise-shell lyre

And you all bathe in fresh streams, rejoicing in the cool water

And you frolic trough the fields, weaving into crowns all sorts of wildflower
