Umbrella Academy s4 Klaus episode if we lived in a better world

A cooking show where every episode, the chef gets possessed by the ghost of a random person of another era, who then proceeds to cook something that they personally enjoyed as a meal while they were alive.

It remains unclear how, regardless from the historical time and place, every single "guest star" seems to have a full understanding of what a cooking show is, and also how to operate a modern kitchen. While there is no overarching plot, different context clues heavily imply that the host chef is somehow a very easy person to possess, and there are so, so many souls from all eras of human history who would love to hop in to experience the pleasure of getting to cook one more really nice meal.

the umbrella academy already loved to treat diego with very limited dignity but i think the thing that single handedly contributed to s4’s downfall is when they decided that he did not know how to spell screw. “did you s-k-r-e-w my wife” will forever live in infamy bc he literally completed the same rigorous courses (academic and otherwise) as the rest of his siblings growing up there is no logical explanation to him fucking that up other than the writers just straight up nerfing him

I saw this meme going around so I gave it a go. It reminded me of my PJO as Gods!AU where Percy and his friends are gods. And of course this meme made me think of Tyler.

I’ve been waiting for a week to see these results lol

The general consensus is that Five would win the games, followed by Klaus and Lila tied for second, and Diego in third.

(Analysis below cut)

🥇 Five: I think Five would have a very good shot at the games. He’s smart, willing to do whatever it takes to win, and agile. He’d be able to outsmart other participants and would not have any shake in tricking them into getting eliminated. With his teenage body he’d be a lot more agile too. However, if he was in his older body, he probably wouldn’t do as well. I don’t think his powers would make much difference either apart from games like Green Light, Red Light and he could probably just blink home. Even without his powers though, he’d do really well.

🥈 Klaus: Klaus kind of shocked me at joint second but after seeing everyone’s opinions I can see it now. His powers would come in handy; he literally cannot die. But he’d also be able to have the ghosts cheat for him and find out what the next game is in advance (like 067 in S1). He’d probably pull a main character style and constantly have his ass saved by everyone but be on of the last with his humanity in tact which aids him in winning.

🥈 Lila: Lila wasn’t a big surprise lol. She grew up with commission training so she’d be a great fighter and very agile. She could also use everyone’s powers so she’d be unstoppable. However, I think she’d falter if Diego was in danger which could ultimately be her downfall. But she’d 100% be an unstoppable force.

🥉 Diego: Diego was also a bit of a shock but, out of the others left, he’d be one of the strongest. He can literally bend the bullets away form hin if he were eliminated, but he’s make it quite far before he would be. He literally spent years as a vigilante- however successful he was is trivial- but he’d still have the extra training. He’d falter if he had to eliminate somebody else though, unless they’d done something bad beforehand, which could be his downfall. Alike Lila, he’d hesitate if she was in danger too, which could also give him a disadvantage.

TLDR: Basically I’m merging my obsessions and now have a very strong urge to make a Squid Game AU for TUA…

you're laughing. The umbrella academy's final season destroyed every character's personal growth and semi-healed traumas, left huge plot-holes, completely abandoned some of it's most beloved side characters that were crucial in previous seasons and you're laugh-oh. You're crying. My bad. Go ahead. Let it out. Understandable.

au where delores is actually a ghost that klaus told five was following him around when they were young, five didn’t believe him, but out of desperation, he began to talk to her in the apocalypse

every once in a while when he was feeling particularly hopeless he would get a sudden chill, or something would seem to be slightly out of place, and he would believe it was her and get the motivation to keep surviving

and then when the family was reunited, klaus would see a young woman lovingly following five around and trying to show him that she was there, guiding him down the right path

and five would never know if she was real or if he’d imagined her all along, but she’d been there with him his entire life.

do you ever think about how the siblings died in the house where they were abused, that they were never able to reclaim from that abuse

how luther died still stuck in that house, having failed to live outside it and failed to make it a home

how diego valued the people more than the house, and yet he dies without his mother or children, with a wife and brother who cheated him

how allison spent her life building new families with new homes, but was dragged back to the house she was abused in to die there

how klaus spent almost every day there high or drunk, but once he was sober he died there

how five spent 45 years longing to go home, to feel safe there, but home was where he died

how viktor ran as far as he could from that house but ended up dying there anyway

how lila searched her whole life for family and comfort and belonging, and instead died in a strangers home
