Daily Comic Journal: August 25, 2022: “Is It Normal For The Same Recruiter To Call Two Days In A Row?”
Not only was I surprised to hear back from the same recruiter to call me back, I mean it’s been my experience that recruiters almost always disappear, but to hear back from her the very next day. Add to that that she was very upbeat and confident that I’d be hearing back for an interview seemed so very unusual. Well, we shall see… I guess.

Grandpa's Cheese Barn, Ashland, Ohio
Each time I travel to see my brother’s family in Butler, I pass the large white barn of Grandpa’s Cheese Barn in Ashland, Ohio.  Just off of the interstate, I think about stopping, but I always seem to be in a hurry arriving to either one place or the next.  This time I decided to stop for lunch and to pick up a couple of items for gift baskets. “Grandpa” Yarman began the business with cheese,…

'The Fugitive' Movie and 4K Review
The following review was written by Ultimate Rabbit correspondent, Tony Farinella. It’s rare I use the word perfect to describe a film, but it certainly applies to 1993’s “The Fugitive.”  Now, when I say this film is perfect, I’m not saying it is one of the greatest films in the history of cinema.  It is perfect because it is a film that is exactly what it needs to be for its genre in terms of…

Links & Quotes
Some links and quotes that caught my eye this week.
God made you uniquely YOU! You have been made on purpose and for a purpose. I have lots of new content every week, which you can check out on my YouTube channel. This is an exciting archeological discovery: the first Koine Greek rendering of a psalm ever discovered inscribed on stone rather than on parchment or papyrus. “The wise recognize before the fight that adversity will come and therefore…

NBC Sports: MLB 1980- World Series Game 7-Kansas City Royals @ Philadelphia Phillies: Full Game
Source:NBC Sports– Philadelphia Phillies closer Tug McGraw. “Kansas City Royals 1 at Philadelphia Phillies 4, F — With the Phillies just one tantalizing out away from a Championship, Tug McGraw got ahead on Willie Wilson, then struck him out swinging at a 1-2 fastball. McGraw threw his arms up, his teammates jumped all over each other, and the franchise had its first baseball…

Faerie Tale Theatre Reviews: The Emperor’s New Clothes
“The people care not one whit for the inner workings of government. They only care that I look the part. If I’m to appear as a slovenly, disheveled ragamuffin, the subjects would assume that I am as common and ordinary as they are and unfit to rule this vast kingdom. No, they want to look up to me. They need to admire me. They demand I oppress them! And I shall.”– The Emperor’s raison d’etre that…

♫ Auld Lang Syne ♫
I’ve played this one a couple of times on this date, December 31st, most recently last year.  I suppose it might become my annual last-day-o’-the-year song.  Last year when I played it, Clive also played the same song, but a different version that he likes much better, and since I like both, I decided to include that one by Mindy Smith this year, so you get a bonus!  Wishing you all a peaceful…

Catching Up with Coney
Originally published in 2022. July 5 is P.T. Barnum’s birthday and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate it then by spending a couple of hours with Dick Zigun, Coney Island’s unofficial unelected mayor, who just so happens to be from Barnum’s pet city of Bridgeport! Dick recently separated from the organization he founded, Coney Island USA as we reported here, but he now has an excellent…

Black Dick's Temple, Whitley Beaumont, West Yorkshire
Many follies have lurid tales attached telling of wicked acts and/or ghostly goings-on and a classical temple, high on the Whitley Beaumont estate near Kirkheaton, doesn’t disappoint. It is known locally as Black Dick’s Temple, after Whitley Beaumont’s owner in the early seventeenth century, Sir Richard Beaumont. Local legends tell that Sir Richard ran up such huge debts gambling that he had to…
