I'm intrigued by the Mexican style restaraunt, "Casa Bonita" in Denver, Colorado. Despite who its investors might be it seems virtually Meow Wolf'esque in its level of theming and immersive interactivity that it seems like loads of fun and very aesthetic to me!
Tumblr media
This picture hints at who was involved in funding the renovations for this restaurant experience although thankfully it's inclusion is minimal..
Tumblr media
The girl here did the same thing I did when I went to visit Meow Wolf in my town one time. Went dressed up as American McGee's Alice!

Discovering the Artistic Legacy of Clyfford Still: A Visit to the Clyfford Still Museum
Tumblr media
Clyfford Still Museum is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts who are interested in discovering the work of one of the most prominent American abstract expressionists of the 20th century. Located in Denver, Colorado, the museum is dedicated to the life and work of Clyfford Still, who is regarded as a key figure in the development of the Abstract Expressionism movement. In this article, we will take a closer look at the museum and the legacy of Clyfford Still.
Background and History
Clyfford Still was born in North Dakota in 1904 and grew up on the Great Plains of North America. He began his artistic career in the 1930s, but it wasn't until the 1940s that he started to gain recognition as a painter. His work was characterized by bold, sweeping brushstrokes and large, abstract forms. Still was a pioneer of the Abstract Expressionism movement, which emerged in New York in the 1940s.
Tumblr media
In 1961, Still withdrew from the art world and moved to a remote farm in Maryland, where he continued to paint until his death in 1980. Still's wife, Patricia Still, inherited his estate after his death and worked to preserve his legacy. She donated his entire collection of paintings and papers to the City of Denver in 2004, and the Clyfford Still Museum was established in 2011 to showcase his work.
The Museum's Collection
The Clyfford Still Museum is home to over 3,000 works of art by Still, making it the largest collection of his work in the world. The museum's collection includes paintings, drawings, and sculptures, as well as personal papers and archives. The collection is arranged chronologically, allowing visitors to see how Still's style evolved over time.
Tumblr media
One of the most impressive features of the collection is the sheer size of Still's paintings. Many of his canvases are over 10 feet tall and 20 feet wide, and their large scale is a testament to the artist's bold and confident approach to painting. Still's use of color is also striking, with many of his paintings featuring a limited palette of dark, moody colors that evoke a sense of drama and intensity.
Visiting the Museum
Visiting the Clyfford Still Museum is a unique and immersive experience that is designed to showcase the artist's work in the best possible way. The museum's building is a work of art in itself, with a design that is both modern and elegant. The building is made of concrete and features a series of skylights that allow natural light to flood the galleries. The museum's architects designed the building to be as unobtrusive as possible, allowing the focus to be on the art.
Tumblr media
The museum's galleries are arranged chronologically, allowing visitors to see the progression of Still's work over time. The museum's staff is knowledgeable and passionate about the artist's work, and they are always available to answer questions and provide insights into Still's life and art.
In addition to the museum's permanent collection, there are also temporary exhibitions that showcase the work of other artists who are related to Still. These exhibitions provide a broader context for Still's work and allow visitors to see how his legacy has influenced other artists.
Tumblr media
The museum also offers a range of educational programs and events, including lectures, workshops, and tours. These programs are designed to provide visitors with a deeper understanding of Still's work and the context in which it was created.
Conclusion
The Clyfford Still Museum is a unique and inspiring destination for anyone who is interested in art and culture. The museum's collection of Still's work is both powerful and beautiful, and it provides a window into the mind and artistic legacy of one of the most important figures in 20th-century art.

"Next Monday [6/17/24] is the start of National Pollinator Awareness Week, and one Colorado advocacy group is hosting a flower planting drive to rewild Colorado’s meadows, gardens, and just maybe, its children too.
Created by constitutional amendment in 1992, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) is a state-funded independent board that invests a portion of Colorado Lottery proceeds to help preserve and enhance the state’s parks, trails, wildlife, rivers, and open spaces.
This year, GOCO’s offshoot Generation Wild is distributing over 100,000 free packets of wildflower seeds to collection points at museums, Denver Parks and Rec. offices, and libraries all over the state to encourage kids and families to plant the seeds in their backyards.
The Save the Bees! initiative aims to make the state more beautiful, more ecologically diverse, and more friendly to pollinators.
According to a new report from the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, 20% of Colorado’s bumblebees are now at risk of extinction. Even in a small area like a backyard, planting wildflowers can make a positive impact on the local ecosystem and provide native bees with a healthy place to live.
“The Western Bumblebee population has declined in Colorado by 72%, and we’re calling on kids across Colorado to ‘bee’ the change,” said GOCO Executive Director Jackie Miller.
Tumblr media
Named after Generation Wild’s official mascot “Wilder,” the Wilderflower Seed Mix was developed in partnership with Applewood Seed Co. and packets are now available for pickup at designated partner sites including more than 80 Little Free Library boxes.
By distributing 100,000 Wilderflower packets, Generation Wild is providing more than 56 million seeds for planting in every nook and cranny of the state. All seeds are regionally-native to Colorado, which is important for sustaining the living landscape of bees, birds, and other animals.
Additionally, by using flower species adapted to the Mile High climate, landscapers and gardeners need to use less water than if they were tending non-native plants.
“Applewood Seed Co. was excited to jump in and help Generation Wild identify a seed mix that is native to the Colorado region and the American West, containing a diversity of flower species to attract and support Colorado’s pollinator populations,” stated Norm Poppe, CEO of Applewood Seed Co. “We hope efforts like this continue to educate the public on pollinator conservation and the need to protect our native bees and butterflies.”
Concluding her statement Miller firmly stated that children grow up better outside, and if you or a parent you know agree with her, all the information on how to participate in Save the Bees! can be found here on their website, including a map showing all the local pickup points for the Wilderflower Seed Packets."

Time Changes People (Pt. 2)
Read Part 1 by @exploratorytfs here.
Tumblr media
Over the past few months, Carol's transformation into Matthew had been nothing short of extraordinary. Every day, she followed the rigorous routine her son had set up, waking up at the crack of dawn for heavy lifting sessions, followed by intense cardio workouts. Her dedication to weight training, HIIT, and Matthew's meticulous diet plan had paid off. Her social media presence had exploded, attracting a growing follower base and the attention of fitness brands. Despite her initial reluctance, she had become a social media sensation, much to Matthew's pride and slight envy.
One evening, as Carol sat on the edge of Matthew's bed scrolling through her latest posts, Matthew barged in, his face alight with excitement. "Mom, you won't believe this!" he exclaimed, practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. "I got noticed by a top sports modeling agency. They want me to move to Chicago and sign a contract."
Carol's eyes widened in surprise. "That's incredible, Matthew! But are you sure about this? What about the swap situation?"
Matthew waved off her concern. "We haven't figured out how to swap back yet, but I know we will. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The agency even offers an apartment in Chicago. You have to go. You know how important this is for my career."
Carol bit her lip, feeling a wave of anxiety wash over her. "I don't know, Matthew. This is a big step. I've never really moved away from home."
"Trust me, Mom. You'll do great," Matthew reassured her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Just keep up with the gym and social media. I'll coach you through it. Plus, think of the opportunities when we swap back."
Carol sighed, her mind racing. "Alright, if you're sure. I'll do it for you."
A few weeks later, Carol found herself in a sleek, modern apartment in downtown Chicago. The city buzzed with energy, a stark contrast to the quiet suburbs of Denver she had always known. Despite her initial reservations, she embraced the challenge, determined to succeed for Matthew's sake.
On her first day at the gym in her apartment building, Carol met Lucas, her new neighbor, who was taking a mirror selfie in the elevator. He was a friendly and outgoing fitness enthusiast who immediately struck up a conversation. "Hey, I'm Lucas. Just moved in?"
Tumblr media
"Yeah," Carol replied, a bit shyly. "I'm Matthew."
"Great to meet you, Matthew. Need a gym buddy?" Lucas asked with a grin.
"Sure, that would be awesome," Carol said, feeling a bit more at ease.
Lucas quickly became a regular part of her routine, pushing her to new limits and offering support. They bonded over their shared passion for fitness, and Carol found herself looking forward to their sessions.
One morning, after an intense workout, Carol received a call from the modeling agency. "Matthew, we have a shoot scheduled for next week. We'll send over the details, but we need you to maintain your current physique and continue with your social media engagement."
Tumblr media
"Of course," Carol replied, trying to sound confident. "I'll be ready."
As she hung up, she couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nerves. The thought of being in front of the camera was daunting, but she knew she had to push through for Matthew.
Later that day, while preparing her meal prep, Matthew called from Denver. "Hey Mom, how's Chicago treating you?"
"It's...different," Carol admitted. "But I'm managing. Got a shoot next week."
"That's awesome! Just remember to stay focused. You've got this," Matthew encouraged.
"I hope so," Carol said, a hint of doubt in her voice.
"You will," Matthew said firmly. "And remember, we're in this together."
The day of the shoot arrived, and Carol stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the sportswear the agency had provided. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. The doorbell rang, and she opened it to find Parker, the mentor assigned to her by the modeling firm.
"Matthew, great to see you," Parker greeted with a charming smile. "I'm Parker. I'll be helping you navigate the modeling world."
Tumblr media
Carol was immediately taken aback by how cute Parker was. He had a charismatic charm, with piercing eyes, curly dark hair, and a warm, encouraging demeanor. "Nice to meet you, Parker," she managed to reply, shaking his hand and feeling a slight blush creep up her cheeks.
Parker was supportive and understanding, guiding Carol through the shoot with patience and encouragement. "You're doing great, Matthew. Just relax and be yourself."
By the end of the day, Carol felt a sense of accomplishment, proud of how far she had come. Parker's charm and support had made the experience enjoyable and less intimidating.
Back at the apartment, she collapsed onto the couch, exhausted but exhilarated. Matthew called from Denver, eager to hear about the shoot. "So, how did it go?"
"It was intense," Carol admitted. "But I think it went well. Parker was a huge help."
"Parker? Who's Parker?" Matthew asked, puzzled.
"Oh, he's the mentor the agency assigned to me," Carol explained. "He's been really supportive and helpful."
"Well, that's great to hear," Matthew said, though still curious. "As long as you're getting the support you need."
As the weeks turned into months, Carol's life in Chicago became increasingly busy. Parker had taken on the role of mentor and more, guiding her through the modeling industry and supporting her in ways that Matthew used to. She found herself contacting Matthew less and less, caught up in the whirlwind of photoshoots, social media engagements, and rigorous training sessions. Parker was always there, offering advice, encouragement, and a comforting presence that she had come to rely on.
Despite her growing enjoyment of this new life, Carol occasionally felt pangs of guilt when she remembered Matthew back in Denver. He was still stuck in her body, living a life that was not his own. She tried to push these thoughts away, but they always lingered at the back of her mind.
One evening, after a particularly grueling training session, Carol and Parker found themselves squeezing by some equipment in a small corner of the gym. The space was tight, and as they moved past each other, they ended up face to face, close enough to feel each other's breath.
Parker's eyes held a look of intensity, and Carol felt her heart race. The air between them seemed to crackle with tension. Without thinking, Parker leaned in and kissed her.
Carol's mind spun. The kiss was warm and gentle, but it also felt strange and wrong. This wasn't her body or her life, and she knew her son was definitely straight. She pulled away, blushing furiously.
"I—I need to go," she stammered, quickly making up an excuse. "I just remembered I have something to take care of."
Parker looked taken aback but nodded. "Of course, Matthew. I'll see you later?"
Tumblr media
Carol nodded, avoiding his eyes as she hurried out of the gym. Once she was outside, she took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. The kiss had been unexpected, and the emotions it stirred were confusing. She felt a mix of guilt, anxiety, and something else she couldn't quite identify.
Back in her apartment, Carol sank onto the couch, her mind racing. She picked up her phone, hesitating for a moment before dialing Matthew's number. He answered on the third ring.
"Hey, Mom. How's everything going?" Matthew's voice sounded distant, and she could hear the background noise of the Denver suburbs.
"Everything's fine," she replied, forcing a smile. "Just had a long day at the gym."
"That's good. I'm glad you're keeping up with the routine," Matthew said. There was a pause, and then he continued, a bit more softly, "You don't call as much anymore. Is everything okay?"
Guilt washed over Carol. "I'm sorry, Matthew. Things have just been really hectic here. But I'm always thinking about you."
"I know," Matthew replied, his voice softening. "Just don't forget about me, okay? I miss you."
Carol's throat tightened. "I won't, Matthew. I promise."
After they hung up, Carol decided she needed to clear her head and get some advice. She made her way down the hall and knocked on Lucas’s door. A moment later, he opened it, smiling warmly when he saw her.
“Hey, Matthew! What’s up?” Lucas asked, stepping aside to let her in.
“Hey, Lucas. Can we talk for a bit?” Carol asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
“Sure, come on in,” Lucas said, leading her to the couch. They both sat down, and Carol took a deep breath before starting.
“So, something happened at the gym today,” she began, hesitating as she tried to find the right words. “I was with Parker, and… he kissed me.”
Lucas raised an eyebrow. “Oh, really? How did you feel about that?”
Carol sighed, running a hand through her hair. “I like him, but I just don’t have a lot of experience. And I guess I’m a bit insecure about it.”
Lucas looked at her with genuine surprise. “Really? But you’re so hot, man. I would've thought you'd had plenty of experience.”
Carol blushed, feeling a mix of flattery and discomfort. “I’m not used to the attention,” she admitted. “And I don’t really know how to handle it. Plus, there’s a lot I can’t explain right now.” She realized she couldn’t tell Lucas about the body swap and the guilt, which was her real hesitation, even if the other reasons were true.
Lucas nodded, understanding. “So, what do you want to do about Parker?”
“I don’t know,” Carol said, feeling frustrated. “I was hoping you could give me some advice on how to let him down gently.”
Lucas gave her a supportive smile. “Look, if you like him, just go for it. Don’t overthink it. You’re a great guy, and you deserve to be happy. If Parker makes you happy, then give it a shot.”
Carol smiled, feeling grateful for his support. “Thanks, Lucas. You’re a good friend.”
As she walked back to her apartment, Carol couldn’t help but reflect on Lucas’s words. Maybe he was right. Maybe she needed to stop overthinking and just let herself be happy. But the guilt about Matthew and their situation still gnawed at her. She knew she had to find a way to balance her new life and responsibilities while never losing sight of her son and their ultimate goal of finding a way to swap back.
As the movie played on, the tension between Carol and Parker grew palpable. When Parker placed his hand on her thigh, it sent a jolt through her, making her heart beat out of her chest. She turned to him, her eyes meeting his, and he looked a bit surprised. Without thinking, Carol leaned in and kissed him deeply. Parker responded eagerly, and soon they were making out fervently on the couch.
The intensity of their kisses grew, their hands exploring each other's bodies with increasing urgency. Unable to hold back, they moved to the bedroom, where they began stripping off their clothes. Carol's hands trembled slightly as she peeled off Parker's tank top, revealing his perfectly sculpted pecs and smooth, tan chest. Parker's fingers worked at the buttons of her shirt, their movements quick and sure.
As they lay on the bed, naked in the dim light, Parker reached into his nightstand and handed Carol a condom. She took it, her hands still shaking slightly, and tried to open the packet. Fumbling with it, she struggled to put it on, unfamiliar with the mechanics. Parker watched her with a mix of amusement and growing desire.
"Here, let me," he said, his voice thick with urgency. But then, he said, "You know what, fuck it. Just go in raw. I want you now."
Carol's breath hitched at his words, the raw desire in his voice igniting something deep within her. She nodded, tossing the condom aside, and climbed onto the bed, positioning herself between Parker's legs. The moment felt surreal as she lined herself up, feeling a mixture of nerves and anticipation.
As she slowly entered him, Parker gasped and arched his back, his hands gripping the sheets. Carol paused, looking down at him with concern. "Are you okay?" she asked softly.
Parker's eyes were filled with a desperate hunger. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just fuck me, Matthew. Please."
She moved carefully, pushing in deeper, feeling an overwhelming sensation that was entirely new to her. The warmth and tightness of Parker's body around her was unlike anything she had ever experienced. It was so much better than jerking off, a level of pleasure that left her breathless and almost dizzy.
Their movements grew more frantic, hot and heavy as the desire between them mounted. Parker wrapped his legs around Carol, pulling her closer, urging her deeper. "Harder," he whispered, his voice raw with need.
Carol, driven by the sheer intensity of the sensations coursing through her body, complied. She thrust faster and deeper, each movement sending waves of ecstasy through her. The feeling of Parker's body beneath hers, the sound of his moans, and the heat of their shared passion drove her wild.
"I'm close," Parker gasped, his fingers digging into her back. "Don't stop."
Carol felt the tension building within her, the pleasure reaching an unbearable peak. She moved faster, her rhythm becoming erratic as they both neared the edge. The intensity of the moment consumed her, and she felt a powerful surge of pleasure rising within her.
Finally, the tension reached its peak, and Carol felt herself climaxing, her body trembling with the force of it. She couldn't hold back and bust inside Parker, who gasped and clung to her tightly as he came too. They both lay there, panting and sweating, trying to catch their breath.
"Are you okay?" Carol asked softly, brushing a strand of hair from Parker's face.
Parker nodded, a satisfied smile on his lips. "Yeah, I'm more than okay. That was incredible."
Carol smiled back, feeling a mix of relief and satisfaction. They lay together, basking in the afterglow, and for a moment, all her worries and guilt seemed to fade away.

Colorado was admitted as the 38th U.S. state on August 1, 1876.
Colorado Day
Colorado Day is celebrated annually on August 1. The holiday commemorates the admittance of Colorado as a state of the Union on August 1, 1876, thanks to an Act of Congress signed by President Ulysses S. Grant. Before the Spanish started settling in Colorado as far back as 1598, Native American tribes had inhabited the area for about 14,000 years. In March 1907, the state legislature officially passed a law designating August 1 as Colorado Day; thus, the holiday started holding on August 1, 1907.
History of Colorado Day
About 14,000 years ago, several Native American tribes, including the Ancestral Puebloans, Apache, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Comanche, Shoshone, and Ute nations, inhabited Colorado. The first European contact was by the Spanish conquistadors, one of whom — Juan de Onate — founded the Spanish province of ‘Santa Fe de Nuevo Mexico’ on July 11, 1598. Eventually, Colorado became a part of this province, and the regular trade between the Spaniards and Native Americans who lived there became known as ‘Comercio Comanchero,’ meaning ‘Comanche Trade.’
In 1803, the United States made a territorial claim to the eastern part of the Rocky Mountains, which the Spanish, who claimed sovereignty over the territory, contested. In 1846, the U.S. went to war with Mexico, winning and claiming the Southern Rocky Mountains for American settlement. However, it wasn’t until a few years later that settlement began in earnest due to the ‘Pikes Peak Gold Rush.’ On June 22, 1850, a man called Lewis Ralston discovered gold in a stream flowing into Clear Creek; he immediately named the stream ‘Ralston’s Creek.’ In 1857, gold seekers began flooding the territory to search for gold — this led to the beginning of the “Pikes Peak Gold Rush.” Three years later, an estimated 100,000 people had come in search of gold, which caused a population boom. However, they settled for silver, hard rock gold, and other minerals when the gold eventually got exhausted.
On February 28, 1861, Colorado became a U.S. territory by an Act of Congress signed by President James Buchanan  — this happened during the infamous secession of the Southern States that led to the American Civil War. On August 1, 1876, President Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado to the Union as the 38th State, 28 days after the Centennial Celebration of the United States, earning it the moniker “Centennial State.” ‘Colorado Day’ was first celebrated in 1907.

Colorado Day commemorates the state’s history
Colorado Day is for celebration
Promotion of tourism
Colorado Day commemorates and reflects on the state’s history. It’s also an opportunity to educate those who know little about Colorado’s origins.
This day also allows Coloradans to celebrate their state — whether native Coloradans or foreign residents. Embracing our roots is vital!
State days promote tourism, which boosts the local economy. Publicizing the beautiful attractions and natural sights in Colorado encourages more people to visit.
