•Denji would get super confused if you confessed without any conditions, example would be like Makima enticing Denji to kill the Gun Devil for her affection. He would have a straight face and ask "And?".

•Denji loves being held by you. He may fall asleep if you hug him too long.

Aki

•Usually if you tease him he won't react but if you constantly tease him he'll start teasing you to for payback.

•He's not really affectionate but he'll start becoming more touchy with you after a while.

•It's really hard to break his composure. One time you just gave up and just laid your head on his chest. He asked "What do you want?" Which you responded with "Your too damn cute" which he responded "Your cuter.".

•He is only mainly relaxed if he's with you. He kinda just uses you as a pillow at times.

•So he can't be flustered, it is only at rare moments where he gets flustered but he does like you despite at almost every time. Unlike most people he is around with he doesn't act annoyed around you. He mainly just acts dreamy around you. Overall he loves helping you out with things.

•When he first told his coworkers that you were his lover he got confused when you asked him "Wait you haven't even confessed yet?" Which he responded with "Do I even need a confession".

Power

•She'll obey every command you do if promise either food or hugs.

•Power would get really protective around you.

•Everytime someone asks her to go somewhere for a mission or an occasion, she always asks if you would be there to the person requesting/ordering her.

•She'll be super touchy around you and always entertained with you.

•She laughs hysterically everytime you make a joke no matter how unfunny it is. She always says "You are the perfect example of comedy!" Even though she doesn't even understand your jokes, she just laughs at them because she does think you are a perfect example of comedy.

•She always drags you around places she likes. And always holds your hand.

•She's basically hates every other human except you, Aki and Denji.

Reze

•If you ever try to fluster her, she'll competitively start to try to fluster you aswell.

•If you do manage to flatter her, she will just cover her face in defeat even tho the same time she wanted it to happen.

•Everytime she tired, she'll complain about and use it as an excuse to sleep beside you.

•She is almost never serious around you. Unlike with the people she killed.

a gruff voice asked you while you sobbed into your now wet palms. you looked up slowly at him with watery eyes and trembling lips, hoping you didn't look so pathetic, like you didn't just get stood up on a date you waited a whole week for.

you sniffed back your snot and blinked away your hot tears as you realized it was that blonde kid in your class, hayakawa, asking you what was up with you–his pinky finger gracefully shoved away in his nostril, picking his nose, while he looked down at you with his amber colored irises.

you didn't know what was more pitiful, the fact you got stood up by someone you really liked and were left alone after waiting around for them for nearly 3 hours at this point, or the fact that you were being sort-of-but-not-really comforted by a stranger, who wasn't exactly a stranger, from your class, picking his nose for a sizeable booger.

with a shaky breath, you looked up at the color of the setting sun–the deep, fiery red, orange, and yellow hues in the sky reminding you of how long it had been since you arrived in this damned park, only to be made a fool out of when nobody arrived to take you to the date you really, really looked forward to going.

"...i got stood up." you muttered, wiping away your tears as your gaze fell down to your bright, shining shoes that you bought specifically to impress your date. denji let out a small, 'huh' sound, and sat next to you on the bench; flicking away a small booger he caught, then wiping his finger on his shirt after.

"well, what if we went on a date?" he asked you nonchalantly. your eyes widened at his suggestion, but a part of you felt a little grosses out by it. "us?" you asked in sheer confusion. "yeah. what, don't wanna go on a date with the one and only chainsaw man? too scared ta do it? i bet you are." he said with a mischievous grin and a devilish tone of mockery in his voice as he challenged you.

this boy always said he was chainsaw man, not like anyone–nor you–believed him, but at this point, you were too broken up to really give a damn about anything else he was saying aside from the fact he was more than willing to take a pretty girl who's been disappointed and heartbroken out for the night of her life.

you sighed, leaning your head against the bench's backrest and shrugged. "okay." you murmured, making denji chuckle and stand up. he extended his clean hand towards you and gave you a sharp, toothy smile. "i've got a game of uno waiting for us back at my place, and a little devil to take care of, but she's not gonna give a shit. maybe."

you find yourself chuckling ironically at how sweet his gesture is, offering to take you to his place to play a game of uno, maybe get some takeout from that chinese place he's been mumbling to himself about craving their food for, and maybe brewing you some tea even though he hates it–all because he's heard you like it.

"ya like tea?" he asked you when he turned to you, not realizing you two were holding hands this whole time. you snap out of your inner thoughts and look him in the eyes. you nod and raise an eyebrow in surprise. "how'd you know?"

"dunno, y'seem like the type to like tea. you're like... all pretty and sweet and shit, y'know? and i heard you talkin' to yer friends once about this tea house y'really wanted to go to someday, so... yeah, if i get the money, i'll take ya there. but fer now, yer stuck with the denji hayakawa special brew." he joked, making your cheeks feel a little warm at how thoughtful he was being without even trying.

Chainsaw Man, or: The Myth of Third-Party Consent

This is gonna be more a stream of consciousness than a properly-written piece btw. Love me some CSM and had some thoughts on the recent chapters

It finally happened! Denji got molested. Unfortunately, this is probably the absolute worst way bro could've got his first nut off. After a series of literal months of his life being sexually harassed, assaulted, manipulated by older women in his life, and then ultimately coming to the conclusion that his dick, as the embodiment of his sexuality, was his ultimate demon, and that the stick gotta go. Maybe the balls too. They make the testosterone, so they gotta be the problem, right? And Yoru offers to assist him, by cutting his dick off in the back alley between some nearby buildings. They go back there, he changes his mind, they argue over it for a bit, and then she forces her hands into his pants- Yoru, not Asa, forces herself into his pants. One tally on the "ummm, I don't think this is appropriate" score.

Tally two comes after she grabs his penis, and this is where the weirdness comes into play. She remembers as she grabs his dick that this is not, in fact, the first time that these two have "gotten intimate". The first time was Asa and him at his apartment, at her behest- before she was turned into a dog by Nayuta, and had her memories wiped. She remembers that they kissed, and leans in to kiss him again. Denji's face screams confusion, but ultimately, he accepts, leaning in to kiss as well after her second go at him. And she begins to jerk him off, to completion, and he finishes in her hands.

So, here we are. Denji finally got his nut off! But instead of celebrating, he slumps to the ground in the alley as Yoru cleans off her hands in a puddle. Her immediate first response is, at first calm, then panicked, to cut Denji off when he asks why they kissed to tell him that she only kissed him because it felt good. And absolutely no other reason. At all. And that she harbors no feelings for him. At all. In any way at all. In any way shape or form. And in fact, that any and all feelings that she felt or has only came from the "other her", Asa.

Way to clear things up, Yoru.

Asa bitch smacks the absolute fuck out of Yoru on her way out the alley, hurting both of themselves, punching and beating on herself even after she gets her body back, crying into the wall that she did, in fact, like Denji, and now he's just gonna think she's some slut cause she literally gave it up to him in a back alley.

And on the train, they both look like they've gone through shell-shock, and to varying degrees, they both have.

Asa was forced to become a rapist. Despite Yoru being the one to "act", it was her body, her hands, her feelings that were Yoru's own one and the same. She, to some degree in her own mind, bears enough of the responsibility here to feel shame on herself, not just if at all for what she did for Denji, but the age-old shame that all women, but especially women Asa's age are forced to bear for being at all sexual with another person, especially another young man like Denji. She's soiled herself, in her eyes, and Denji wouldn't want her. She holds no value to herself, as much as she thinks she holds to Denji.

There's a mix of other feelings in there, of course. Potentially, there is jealousy that Yoru was the one who used her body for the "real" kiss from Denji, that she was robbed of the opportunity to actually get to perform the acts of both love and intimacy that her body was puppeteered for. There is also more than just a small chance that Asa is too caught up in these mixed feelings in the moment to understand that what just happened to her AND Denji was nothing short of sexual assault by Yoru.

And this is almost definitely what happened to Denji. When he has been manipulated like this for the entirety of his life at this point, with no real autonomy or ownership over himself, starting as a young boy and ending with the collapse of Makima's reign over his life, Denji is almost used to these feelings. But when this... "thing"... happens with Yasa, this on-and-off relationship the two of them have shared over the past few months, his immediate concern is the one thing he's truly focused on when it came down to it for his relationships- Does Yasa really feel a way about him? Or did she, just like those before, simply use him?

First the mafia. They owned his body as a tool to pay off his father's debt. Then, Makima, and Himeno, and Reze, Power, and even Nayuta. Himeno used him to try to get off, then vomited in his mouth, then utilized him to try to get what she wanted from Aki. Sure, she became a friend, but only after nearly forcing herself onto the conflicted and young boy.

Reze, who claimed to have fallen in love with him, and wished to run away. Who helped teach Denji to do math, and read, and to play and think for himself, before ultimately revealing that the love had been staged, and that she was a powerful devil sent to either kidnap or execute him. She kills some of his friends, allies, whatever- and still, he wishes to run away with her. He hopes that, perhaps, although staged, the flower of love had still actually bloomed, and could grow even further were it planted somewhere else. And Reze, in fact, reveals that it could have blossomed even more beautifully- before being cut down at the stem by Makima.

Power is Denji's first real experience with the female body. And it's... not at all what Denji had it cracked up to be. First time bro copped a feel on a pair of titties, and not only were they padded, but he still didn't enjoy it nearly as much as he imagined he would. In fact, this was enough to get him to re-think his goals, and what it was he wanted out of life. It got him to almost remember...

And then Makima got her hooks back in him. She ruined not just his relationships with women, but people in general. Got him to kill Aki. Got him to kill Power. Got him to forget his initial dream, his dream to just find a girl to hang out with and play video games with, a girl to just fall asleep with in his arms. She might, in fact, be one of the primary reasons that his perversion went beyond just standard perversion. By making herself the object of his desire, she could shape his activity, shape the very desire itself. And she did- he needed a mother, and she gave him the idea of that and a lover in one, the shelter he needed through the girl he could fall asleep with. She made herself his goal, and dangled it, constantly. Every woman now compares to Makima, and now with every woman Denji must go through the same hoops.

One of those hoops being: "Do you really love me?" Not only if they truly love him, but if they love him. That they aren't still just there for chainsaw man. That they aren't still just there for his body, aren't there on some secret agenda, that they're there for him. And Asa? Denji enjoyed his time. And perhaps, Denji thought that Asa was there for him, even if she flip-flopped so hard. Even through her emotional issues and diabolical amounts of autism, she was fun to be around, and enjoyed the time she spent with him for him.

And here, stripped to his barest, literally slumped to the ground in an alleyway after being sexually taken advantage of more directly than any other time in his life, is the first girl who's really, truly, unabashedly brought enjoyment to his life in a way that Nayuta simply couldn't, there is- nothing. There is just the idea that, once again, Denji has been used and cast aside.

He's still reckoning with all that. The aspersion of his autonomy is already ingrained into who he is. There is no need for Denji to reconcile with being taken advantage of in the alley, because in order to do that, Denji must reconcile with his entire life. And I'm not even sure if Denji has the mental faculties to reconcile with the idea that this is an issue he has to deal with. Not even taking into account that one of his immediate stress responses is still, after all this time, putting his finger in his mouth, and thinking of Makima.

I understand if you’d prefer not to talk about this bc, like you said, it’s a very emotionally fraught topic, but do you think Fujimoto is handling the topic of SA well in CSM? I ask bc I’ve seen a lot of negative reactions to this chapter in a way I’ve never seen about Makima’s, Himeno’s, and Fumiko’s actions

It’s OK. I’m sorry that the response I’m gonna give is somewhat of a nonanswer, but I think dumbing it down to a simple “yes” or “no” might be worse given the subject of discussion anyway, so whatever.

I think a lot of people are horrified by the chapter, and rightfully so, both because I contest Fujimoto wanted this sort of response and because 167 has gone further than either Makima, Himeno or Fumiko have gone in terms of physical sexual assault. Like, he was actually molested in this chapter. Himeno was drunk and vomited in his mouth, Fumiko felt him up above clothes, Makima groomed him into the mentality that this sort of behavior is permissible, but Yoru went “all the way” for lack of better term. Even if 167 is narratively consistent and unfortunately fulfills what Denji’s chara and Chainsaw Man have been leading up to since part 1, this doesn’t make that any less horrifying. Makima and Fumiko and Himeno’s respective attacks on Denji, while terrible in their own rights, just were not as grossly severe.

NTM that him and Asa’s relationship development was actually framed in a positive light for a while, unlike any of the former, so this happening may seem like a sort of “betrayal” from Fujimoto to people who perceived their hypothetical relationship as a source of catharsis for the both of them.

So I think a lot of people saying it was handled badly are just caught off guard and sensitive to having had to see it, which makes sense, because I was too. There are also a lot of people who have valid criticisms of Fujimoto given that he’s treated sexual assault against men as a joke, as something attractive, etc, before. Even knowing this was an inevitable there can still be criticism made of the way it was delivered.

But going into that realm of subjectivity also opens up the discussion of WHAT depictions of sexual assault should look like to be “accurate” and “respectful” to the survivors experiences. How should a victim be portrayed feeling during the assault? How, if it’s in comic form, should the pages lay out? How explicit should it be? Where should the focus lay? What demographics should the victim and assailant belong to? When you start asking these sorts of questions with the intention of concocting a “well-handled” sa depiction, at least for me, you begin to realize that there aren’t any—barring its large scale framing as negative, ofc. Every victim and every act of assault are different, with different reactions and feelings and circumstances leading to it. Every artist and author has a different style of storytelling that may or may not lean into depicting acts of SA in more socially acceptable ways (e.g., completely expunging it, or fetishistically, or with delicacy and care).

Denji is not the type of victim we most commonly see depicted in fiction at all. He’s a boy, he’s hypersexual, his assailants are all women, he doesn’t display much (TYPICAL) sorrow/pessimism and he actively pursues further sexual contact during and following his abuse. I think looking to more common archetypal depictions as a frame of reference to how Denji’s sexual trauma should be handled is asking to be frustrated and confused as to why his is the way it is, instead of illuminated onto whether it’s quote good or bad unquote.

So, if I’m asked to whether it’s well-handled, I would say that it’s clearly horrifying and uncomfortable and unforgiving enough to be a clear reflection of the kind of person Denji is and how he would react to such a thing happening. I think, given Fujimoto’s goriness and tendency to sexualize his women characters, the chapter is very tame. It only shows what it shows to communicate what happens and trigger your revulsion. 167, in it’s entirety, is about as respectful a depiction of SA as you’re going to get with an author like him. But nobody reading csm has to suddenly conform to Fujimoto’s weird fucked up standards, so if you think it’s badly portrayed, then it is. SA is a widespread issue, but it’s also deeply personal, so you are entitled to your feelings towards the chapter as much as Fujimoto is entitled to representing this atypical character’s trauma in an atypical way.

personally with this new chapter, I’m not mad that Fujimoto included a scene like this in the manga. Csm has done situations like this time and time again. While as much as I think they’re handled horribly, most fans look past it so I just follow the fellow sheep and keep reading. But GODDAMN this chapter man😭

Ik Fujimoto is most likely going to make a payoff in the next chapter, but my main thing here is why didn’t we do that as the exact same chapter that happened here. For me, what makes these scenes uncomfortable and what makes me feel the characters pain is showing less. When it comes to sexual scenes, less genuinely is more

I’m gonna use punpun as an example so bear with me for a sec lol

In the second book of punpun (I forget which chapter forgive me) punpun’s uncle Yuichi I think his name is has sex with his girlfriend in front of a minor that he almost had sexual interactions with. This chapter is deeply disgusting, but it doesn’t take up the entire chapter. It’s really only a few panels, but you can still feel the guilt and fervor Yuichi feels during and after the event. You wanna know why? Because it goes away just as fast as it comes. And it’s drawn and written so beautifully you can’t take your eyes off it. It also just feels like a hazy dream in a way, which is what I’m sure both Asa and Denji felt like it was, which is why it confuses me why it’s so drawn out. We then focus on the aftermath of the event, which is exactly what I think chapter 167 should’ve focused on.

we don’t need 11 fucking pages of the sexual assault, I’d rather have a page or two and then see how this affects the characters. We already know because of going through exactly what he had a breakdown about, Denji will start to reject humanity more and give in to the chainsaw devil (if I’m not sounding delusional rn) I want to see more of that, I want to see more of Asa’s reaction, I want to feel the tension. But I don’t feel that. Not at all.

I wanted a story, if I wanted to see two people get assaulted, I’d go to twitter. I don’t feel the disgust Asa is feeling. I don’t feel how confused and how much in a daze Denji is in. I didn’t even feel whatever that man wanted me to feel the other chapters where gross shit happens. I feel like I’m reading some comic an edgy 14 yr old made whose favorite YouTuber is turkeytom. I feel like I’m reading Fujimoto’s poorly disguised fetish comic every fucking time this shit happens. Sometimes the payoff to me isn’t fucking worth it either.

I’m gonna keep reading because it genuinely is a good manga, just not when Fujimoto tries to be edgy and different, because it’s not entertaining or funny or interesting to me it’s just gross.

denji wished he met you earlier.

he wasted his first kiss on himeno, who not only made his first kiss experience terrible but also vomited in his mouth to make it worse. whenever he thinks back to that moment, his mouth goes dry and he thinks he might cry.

he thinks he might die of humiliation when remembering her vomit's chunky, gross taste. "bleugh!" he groans to himself, and aki turns to look at him confused. "what's wrong?" aki was in the middle of discussing something with someone that denji didn't bother to learn their name.

"nothing, i'm gonna go get water!" he excuses himself and power jumps on his back, "ooh! ooh! let me come! ponytail boy is boring." she sticks her tongue out, which aki ignores. "no, you're both in trouble. power, you need to stay. denji, hurry up." he replies, which makes power frown. "see, boring." but she just walks away and sits in a chair.

denji leaves the room, quickly shutting the door and holding his stomach. he feels like he might throw up. as he walks up to a water fountain, he bumps into a girl holding a bunch of papers in her arms.

"oh, sorry. wasn't watching where i was going." you say, bending down to pick them up. denji can barely form a word, and he thinks you're one of the prettiest people he's ever seen.

"oh- uh," he's not good with words so he just shuts up, bends down and helps you pick it up. "sorry, i also wasn't watching where i was going." he blurts out, scratching his head.

you just chuckle and reassure him that it's fine.

that's how you two first met.

over time, you and denji (and power), have gotten much closer. he comes over to hang out during the weekends or when you're back from school.

today, you're just chilling in your room watching an old show while you finished a new lego piece that you saved enough money to buy. (why the fuck is lego so expensive bro i just wanna build)

power got in trouble again so she is not here as denji knocks on your door. "coming!" you call, pausing your show and putting down whatever part from the lego you had in your hands down.

when you open the door you smile widely when you see a certain blond-haired boy in front of you. "oh, hey denji. wanna come in?" you ask, opening the door slightly more for him to enter. "yeah.. thank you.." he says, looking a bit flustered.

and over time he learned to be more neat and clean when coming over. he never listened to aki when he told him to put his shoes away nicely, so when he first stepped foot into your house and saw all the shoes neatly lined up, he couldn't help but want to please you and do the same.

you lead him to your room, which every time he steps into, he feels nervous. he fidgets with his fingers, not paying attention to where he is going and almost falls down.

"holy shit!" you cuss, trying to muffle your laughter. "are you okay, denji?" you help him back up on his feet, and you watch his face get red. "yeah.. i'm okay." he yells at himself to get his shit together in his head.

holy shit i just embarrassed myself like crazy!! he imagines power laughing in his face.

"here," you let him sit in the chair where your lego was near, "i'll get you ice." quickly, you rush downstairs and come back with and ice pack. when you hand it to him he mumbles a quiet, "thanks." and puts the ice on his little injury.

he turns the chair around to face the table in front of it, "hm? what's this?" he points to the lego. you tilt your head, "that's my new lego set! i jus' bought it!" you exclaim joyfully.

"woahh.." he looks at it closer, "what does that mean?" he asks, confused. "hm? have you never had lego before?" you ask him, "well i mean, i was basically homeless my entire life, and was on the verge of death like every other day trying to make money.. so, yeah.. never had one before." he shrugs, as if what he said literally wasn't crazy.

you cough awkwardly, "oh.." he just nods, still paying attention to the lego set, trying to understand what it is, "well, want me to show you?" you ask, trying to lighten the mood.

"yeah!" he exclaims, "okay, stand up," you shoo him out of your chair, "see this?" you show him the instruction book, "you need to follow what they're saying. so this page is where i'm on right now, you basically need to look for the pieces the page is telling you, and put them where the picture in the page has them. like this, see?" you show him.

“But thats not everything that happened..” Denji chimed out from behind the two of you . Two heads turned to face Denji , one set of eyes were curious and confused , the other set were daggers .

“Denji , fuck off.” Aki spat , something sinister in his voice.

“Shut the fuck up , topknot. Did you think that I was gonna let you feed her that bullshit without stepping in ? “ Denjis sudden raise of tone felt like a bullet tearing through your brain , causing you to pull back from the railing but not before Akis hand shot to grip your wrist tightly. That look of confusion turned to a look of fear that teetered between Aki and Denji.

“Aki..stop, please..” You plead as your heart beat against your ribcage as if it were trying to escape , and the more you resisted his hold the grip would get tighter like a boa constrictor strangling its prey. 

It took probably a minute for the realization to set in; you weren’t going anywhere. When it did, you stopped moving and Power came to stand beside Denji . 

“Y/N.. have you noticed that you were always one of the most kick ass Public safety devil hunters until recently?” Denjis arms came to cross his chest as he spoke .

“Well.. OUR very own Aki Hayakawa has intentionally put you in these situations just so he could be your savior.”

“Tis True!” Power chimed in , Meowy letting out a raspy noise atop Powers shoulder.

“W-what..” You were in disbelief and your gaze could only drop to the concrete beneath your bare feet , the color drained from your face as your brain began running through everything that happened recently.

”Y/n .. I swear I didn’t mean for it to be like this … I just… had to get your attention , gain your trust. You never would have given me the time of day otherwise.” Aki loosened his grip on your wrist as he began stuttering , words coming out choked and panicked, having lost their venom that they contained when directed at Denji . The unfinished , incoherent rambling wouldn’t stop until he felt the sting of your palm across his cheek, and then he let go of you. 

Tears burned in the corner of your eyes , everything in your vision becoming a shaky blur until the tears dripped down your cheeks . How did one of the people you had pined after , respected, and fucking said ‘I love you’ to end up being the one who risked your life on several occasions ? The rapid rise and fall of your chest was accompanied by the drumming of your heart , as if you had a symphony playing inside you.

“Perhaps if you hadn’t been such a narrow-minded bastard you could have seen that I have been in love with you for a long time , Aki !”

Fists at your side were balled so tight that your knuckles were white, it took every ounce of restraint to not push him over the edge of the balcony 

“Instead you risk my life , and lessen my reputation.” The sentence you intended to shout only came out shrill and broken .

Aki stood there with a blank expression yet his eyes told a different story . Denji sighed as Power leaned her head against his shoulder. All you could do was shake your head in disbelief.

“Fuck you , Aki . I’m going home.” Was all that left your lips as you went back inside and began collecting your clothes , taking them into to the bathroom to get dressed before you left and headed home.

The Next Day

You kept fidgeting with your fingers, the tv playing on the wall completely forgotten as you stared at the 2 empty bottles of wine that were next to you on your couch. Today was the first time you had called off of work , well technically you had just ghosted work , you were sure your ‘boss’ would understand why . The couch felt like a message chair from the constant buzzing of your phone before muted it.

Your phone had been getting nonstop messages from Aki , and Denji. The only one you responded to was Himeno , who was already on her way over with a few more bottles of liquor. 

20 Minutes Later

“Maybe its time to become a civilian devil hunter?” your upper lip trembles as it curls in disdain at the words you just spoke as you popped the cork on the fresh bottle of red wine , handing it to Himeno before repeating the same for yourself. With a sigh you plopped down on the couch next to your friend, her free arm snaking across your lower back to pull you closer.

“Maybe we can partner up . Ya know , Aki and I used to be partners , we are still friends but I agree that what he did was fucked up , like ‘really’ fucked up..” Himeno said before taking a few audible gulps of the bitter tasting liquid. All you did was respond with a grunt , and then opened your phone to read the newest spam of messages from the two roommates . 

“We’re going out tonight .. and you’re gonna get revenge , easy revenge.” With a cock of her brow Himeno proceeded to elbow you lightly before you glanced at her mid-sip. “I dont know…” 

“Well lets atleast get you out of this dark ass room , be around people who actually care about you”

A sigh was breathed out, the fight in you was fleeting.  “fine”

Later That Night

You , Himeno , and Denji were sitting at the bar with a tray full of limes, a bottle of tequila , and a shot glass for each of you.

Unlike Himeno you weren’t much of a casual drinker except the last 2 days. But when she had invited you out for a bar crawl with a couple of the others, you decided that it would be just the right amount of socialization you needed for a slap of reality in the face. You hadn’t expected, however, for Aki to be accompanying them granted he was keeping his distance . You just knew it was Himenos doing , she didn’t want to see either one of her friends miserable.

In an absolutely unsurprising turn of events, you just ended up getting shit-faced.

Denji was near tears with laughter when you threw back your eighth tequila shot with a sour expression. You’d placed a warm hand on his chest , twirling Pochitas tails underneath while attempting to say something but you were simply unable as soon as your eyes locked with Akis.

 There he was, across the room just staring . The entire past two days had been spent trying to erase any feeling of love , or adoration from your brain and heart , yet his eyes seemed to call to you. 

Shit you still had feelings for him , of course you did. 

Denji had noticed and grabbed a lime , offering it to you between his fingers. As small of a gesture , it was enough to bribe your attention back to him. Perhaps it was the lighting, or perhaps it was the alcohol, but you felt a tingly sensation in your stomach. Denji was really handsome, and it was the smallest flicker of affection you’d received that felt genuine since the other night with Aki. 

Denji and Aki were really close . “Easy revenge” Himeno whispered in your ear from behind as she spectated. And so you surged forward, dodged the lime and kissed him. 

You hadn’t consciously pulled away from him, but were suddenly made aware of a screeching bar stool. Aki loosened his tie as he beelined straight toward all of you. 

Just as quickly as you’d dodged that lime , you felt his hand grab your forearm and tug hard causing you to slide off the chair. Himeno continued to spectate in her drunken state , Denji was drunk as well and now was smiling lost in his own world with a starstruck look on his face. 

Aki dragged you outside towards his car , your heels clicking against the ground , the entire building shaken with the force of him closing the door.

“Get in the car.” Aki swiftly opened the door and pushed you inside before you could even react. 

“Fuck.” You whispered to yourself while stifling a laugh as Aki walked around the car, got in on the drivers side , started the car and pulled pulled off at an already high speed. A squeak sounded from the pressure of Akis fingers wrapped around the steering wheel , and you slouched back into the seat due to your inebriated state with apprehension and fidgeted with your fingers in your lap. 

The smell of Akis cologne ignited your drunken senses as he leaned over to buckle you in while his eyes remained on the road. It was silent for a few minutes as the two of you drove before Akis grip on the wheel got impossibly tighter. 

“Do you wanna explain what the fuck what that was back there?” His voice was clearly an octave lower than usual. 

Stunned by his question you blinked and pressed your lips together as if to seal them shut. Aki pressed on the accelerator harder, the engine revving as the car sped up . You were suddenly jerked back and forth as he pivoted between cars , outside the windows everything was just a blur to you. The tasted of blood filled your mouth as you bit down on your lip nervously. 

Okay , this was going a bit too far.

“Pull over , Aki!” Screeched from your chest , throat feeling suddenly raw. You swallow, even though your mouth is well past dry. 

Aki must have realized that his actions would have consequences. He had been struggling with conflicting emotions, feeling anger towards Denji for outting him , but also feeling immense guilt for the dangerous self serving stunts he had pulled that put you in harm's way. He pressed down on the brake pedal, making a sharp turn onto a secluded road surrounded by trees on both sides. The sun was beginning to set, casting warm, orange beams of light through the trees as he continued to drive, albeit at a slower pace.

“First you repeatedly put me’n danger on missions , ‘n now you drive s’if you want me dead.” The words came out slurred as your blood alcohol content was peaking . 

Aki tightened his grip on the steering wheel once again. "I would never let anything happen to you, especially not something as terrible as death." You had hit a raw nerve, causing his emotions to surface.

The car gradually came to a stop and Aki shifted into park, turning his gaze to you. He felt his heart leap ,starting to ache as if it had become encased in broken glass as he saw you, with your head hanging low and tears threatening to overflow the dam that held them back.

Hesitantly, he placed his warm hand on your rosy cheek, his thumb gently tracing your bottom lip. Once again this man managed to make you feel safe. Despite your current state, you were still breathtakingly beautiful to him. You leaned into the security of his touch, allowing your teary eyes to meet his, which still held a powerful allure for you. Wiped your tears away with the sleeve of your hoodie, attempting to give him a half smile.

“This is the place I wanted to take you to on our first date, maybe have a picnic set up before I even brought you here…” Aki reminisced on his prior plans , ones that had only existed in his mind . ”Guess I fucked that up , huh?”

You locked your gaze ahead and let out a gentle exhalation at the stunning view, it was positively breathtaking. A colossal lake was encompassed by a forest of trees, their darkness mingling with the sun's rays as they shimmered on the water's surface. You were momentarily at a loss for words, but Aki didn't seem to expect a response from you.

“I would’ve said yes , Hayakawa.” You admitted . Easy revenge must also mean Easy backfire.

"Is there anything I can do to turn things around? Is there still hope for redemption?" He tilted his head and his thumb gently caressed your lower lip. The alcohol had finally taken its toll on you, causing your willpower to crumble despite your valiant efforts to hold it together.

Your eyes crossed as they fixated on his perfect lips , he noted this and his fingers crawled from your cheek to the back of your neck , threading into your loose locks of hair gently. The two of you moved in tandem , the heat of your lips meeting set fireworks off inside of you . 

Your crossed gaze fixed on his impeccable lips and he took notice, his fingers moved from your cheek to the nape of your neck, delicately entwining in your soft locks. The two of you moved together in tandem, the heat from the meeting of your lips ignited a surge in your chest . His tongue slid across your bottom lip before it poked into your mouth. Aki tightened his grip on your hair as he tasted the alcohol in your mouth , you let out a sweet groan at the sensation.

The two of you were lost in eachother yet Aki used his free hand to press a button on his dashboard , allowing it to begin playing one of your favorite songs. Your lips curved into a smile , breaking the kiss as you let out an airy kiss.

 “How’d y’know thi’swas my favorite song?” 

“Because I really do pay attention , y/n..”

All your could do was smile , were you truly considering forgiving him?

“Think I could get another chance? When you’re sober.” Aki asked whilst tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. 

Just like a drug , you didn't realized you had become addicted until it was too late.

❦ Denji

❧ When you first blew a kiss at Denji he was confused, not sure if it was for him or the person behind him. Definitely wasn’t for Power or Aki, since they was beside him & you was looking directly at him when you did it. Turnt around; no one was behind him so it was for him.

❧ My boy was amp tf up, like a hawt girl blew a kisss at me ? He was acting like a whole circus, jumped out his chair & buss his ass. That made him stopped & think for a second, to get it together.

❧ Power just gave him the look, she felt like that reaction was unnecessary (she was jealous asl). Aki on the other hand just scolded Denji, cuz he don’t have no good table manners what so ever. Just causing a whole scene.

❦ Aki

❧ You happened to blow a kiss at him at the wrong time, he was walking over to a table with food in his hands.

❧ He looked over at you for a quick second, that’s when you blew him a kiss and he couldn’t looked away from you while he was still walking.

❧ As he was walking & staring at you he was not paying attention to the chairs in front of him, which caused him to bump into the chair and hit his knee so hard he threw his food at someone head💀 and they cuss him tf out (look at all the mess you caused…) all you could do is just watch & feel bad. (Orrrr in another scenario you went over there and help him)

❧ By the time allat was over embarrazzed was a word that he couldn’t used….he ran out that mall so quickkk & never looked back

❦ Power

❧ when you blew a kiss at her she just made a scary face at you cuz that’s a Power thing, then she just sat there in silence and thought about it.

❧ even though it was a quick gesture it made her feel really happy and she wanted you to do it all the time to her, so she walked up to you and asked you to do it again and that was the start of a brand new relationship.

❧ Like she want you to blow her a kiss at her every damn day or else she’s gonna get mad and not talk to you.

❦ Kobeni

❧ Her body instantly frozed up, she didn’t know what to do but she felt happy it just didn’t looked like it on her face though.

❧ She was very nervous and wanted to go talked to you but you was with your friends and that made her even more nervous. She was STRESSED.

❧ Once your friends finally left you alone to go to the restroom she went over there to strike up a conversation but she was stuttering really bad so you had to do most of the talking which made her calm down a little.

❧ She managed to ask for your number and ran away once your friends came back. It was too much for poor Kobeni :(

“if i’m ever not here,” aki begins, and denji’s brow twists in confusion, his head cocking slightly.

“what is that supposed to mean?”

aki sighs, loaded with something more than his usual exasperation, and turns away. “never mind.”

denji doesn’t really want to linger on it. the thought of aki leaving, the idea of being alone again causes a rather horrible twist in his chest that he elects to ignore, but something is pushing at him to say more. “where are you gonna go? are you thinking of quitting, or something? cause you know, that’s kinda mean to miss makima, aren’t you supposed to give a notice or something? it’s like…” he scrunches up his face in concentration. “two weeks! two weeks notice! where’s your two weeks notice?”

he looks back up at aki just in time to catch his expression—a gentle smile, just barely quirking the corners of his mouth, and that familiar fondness in his eyes mixed with something so sad denji has no word for it.

“never mind,” aki says, again, much softer this time. he stands, turning to walk back down the hall. “i’m not quitting,” he calls back, louder this time. “you two clowns would probably keel over the second i left the city anyway.”

“hey!” power squawks from down the hall, overlapping denji’s offended “excuse me?” as they both move to follow him, and aki’s smile only gets wider as he turns away to hide it. denji pretends not to notice.

The new freak saw chapter was sooo cringe to me but I had to post from a burner …all the posts I’ve seen not really any talking about the actual plot rn . Fucked up as it is yoru did that for the plan to try and manipulate him to fall in love with her. She’s gonna try and turn him into a weapon so they can fight like she did the first time she just went and kissed him. Shes said she’s gonna do /anything/ to kill chainsaw man.

I think she probably doesn’t have actual uncontrollable feelings for denji she just thinks like literally sa is gonna make him fall in love with her and when he’s “hers” she can create a powerful weapon. When I read it it looked like denji kissed her back in the drawing in the new chapter which isn’t too far fetched bc they’ve been dating so idk in the next chapter he’s like in love or traumatized ? I knoww asas just mortified holy shit. Personally freaksaw man is getting a little too freaky I love and miss part 1 can’t wait for there to be more animated I’m really just waiting for the blood devil to show up in the manga as promised to me.

Chainsaw Man Chapter 107 Thoughts

When I say Tatsuki Fujimoto wastes no time I most definitely mean that in the literal sense because oooh the adrenaline rush I had gotten while reading through this chapter of Chainsaw Man was something else. It was one thing to end off on a cliffhanger to a battle between Yoru  and Yuko.  That said, it’s a whole matter when  Fujimoto dives us straight into the heat of battle between these two characters  The War Devil vs The Justice Devil. 

Let me just make it absolutely clear here that Yuko is doing all of this to make sure her best friend is safe.  Yet, the very actions she is  partaking is in contrary to her statement. The adversary in her line of sight might be Yoru with the simple fact that it is Asa’s body. It goes back to something the War Devil mentioned it in the previous chapter.  Killing her would also mean putting an end to Asa’s life in the process. Even so,  a fight between these two devils which draws the attention of the students and various faculty members. One calling for an immediate evacuation from the building due to the Justice Devil being within the vicinity.  Some question whether it is drill, but Yuko clarifies that it is not a drill.  

A single glance is all it takes for them to try and flee from the fight.     During this whole procedure, Yuko is able to scout out the three bullies that have messed with Asa throughout her academic life. Luckily, Yoru formulates a spear like trident that’s made of pencil to lay a hit on Yuko, but the latter states how predictable that move was since she was able to read her mind and uses the same weapon to eliminate two of the three school bullies. Only one was left to be saved thanks to the arrival of some unwanted guests for The Justice Devil.  An organization within the academy known as The Devil Hunter Club which was already established since second chapter of Part 2.

  There are only 3 members that partake in the battle against Yuko which left Yoru disappointed if she was gonna be taken out before Chainsaw Man arrived onto the scene. Much to her dismay, The Justice Devil made work of those three members and took them out after they attempted to take her out.   The tables turn almost instantaneously when Yuko taunts Yoru about all the tactics she up her sleeve throughout The Academy.  This doesn’t faze Yoru in the slightest because of one final failsafe cogency plan she kept in check.  “The Leave It To Asa Plan” which comes into play once Yoru swaps places with Asa and thus it left Yuko in confusion as to why such a call was made in the final page before bringing an end to the chapter.

All in all, this chapter of Chainsaw Man gets an Amazing rating. There may not have been much on story progression, or the fact that Denji has yet to reappear again in this chapter yet it almost doesn’t matter. The sole highlight of this chapter is really the action that comes between these two devils throughout the  chapter, but most importantly seeing that Yoru solely was the focal point of the whole chapter against Yuko just before switching with Asa at the end.  It was really interesting to see Yoru have some struggle against The Justice Devil in her battle and even with the assistance of The members from The Devil Hunter Club it still wasn’t enough. The way Tatsuki Fujimoto carefully layered the battle to showcase that Yuko isn’t just an average devil who easy to defeat makes me really curious to see what’s gonna occur within the following chapters now that Asa has been given control.  I can definitely feel that at the pace I’m currently taking that it won’ be long for me to be fully caught up to the manga’s latest chapter, but that’s just only gonna add more for what’s to come with Chainsaw Man.Until then, I hope you all take care of yourselves out there.

Himeno/Reze: *having a non-alcoholic drink at the kitchen counter*

Angel/Power: *enters the kitchen and sees Himeno/Reze* Why are you up?

Himeno/Reze: How am I supposed to sleep? I’ve been married less than 24 hours, and my husband isn’t speaking to me.

Angel/Power: *walks to the refrigerator* Perhaps you can think of this in a more positive light. In one day, you’ve managed to do what it takes many couples decades to achieve. *opens the refrigerator to get a water bottle*

Aki/Denji: *knocks on the doorpost and enters the kitchen* Hi.

Himeno/Reze: Hey.

Aki/Denji: You couldn't sleep either?

Himeno/Reze: *leaves the kitchen counter* Of course not.

Angel/Power: Me either. B-but I just had a tickle in my throat. *presents the water bottle* Not profound martial problems. *opens water bottle*

Himeno/Reze: What are we gonna do?

Aki/Denji: I don't know.

Himeno/Reze: Please tell me how I can fix it.

Angel/Power: *walks towards them* I'm glad you asked. As I see it, there is a simple solution. Your lips had a dalliance with the lips of another man. It seems only logical that to restore balance to the relationship, *points at Aki/Denji as he/she approaches him* you should find another man/woman and dally with him/her. And by dally, I mean some hardcore mouth on mouth action.

Himeno/Reze: Okay, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Aki/Denji: Actually, I think he/she is onto something.

Himeno/Reze: Y-you can't be serious. 'Cause I messed up and made out with a guy, you're gonna do the same with a random guy/girl?

Angel/Power: *turns to Aki/Denji* I'm currently single.

Aki/Denji: That's true. You are. *awkward silence*

Himeno/Reze: *confused silence* What is happening?!

Angel/Power: I will tell you what is happening. I am saving my best friend's marriage! *kisses Aki/Denji*

Himeno/Reze: *wakes up from her nightmare in her bed and gasps*

Best New Anime of 2022

so i had cancer this year! which apparently means i actually watched enough new anime last year to do a top ten list? so i guess this is my first anime top ten! pretty neat! i’m only gonna cover shows that premiered this year because it would be hard not to put stuff like Mob Psycho and JoJo on here and there was so much great new stuff that i wanna focus on. here goes!

10: Love Flops: this show… this fuckin’ show y’all. the first few episodes are…. A Lot. some of the horniest anime bullshit i’ve seen. it takes over half the season to really show its hand. and look, i really don’t want to spoil anything, because it has some truly great reveals, but goddamn is it an incredible fucking hand. a show that is both absolutely demented and very touching

9: Aharen-san wa Hakarenai: translates to Aharen is Incomprehensible. just a really cute, chill little romcom about a couple of goofballs and their even goofier friends. was a very nice thing to look forward to during a pretty hard summer!

8: Urusei Yatsura: i originally had Spy x Family here, but y’know what? fuck that. Lum’s Back Bay Beeee and she looks better than ever. David Productions outdid themselves here

7: Bocchi the Rock: the most i've related to a character in ages. great music, great animation, great pals

6: Chainsaw Man: not typically my vibe, but it's so good i can't help but appreciate it anyway. i have trouble with “misery parade” stuff but Chainsaw Man takes it so far that it becomes hilarious. i really love its exploration of intimacy and control, very nuanced and looks at a lot of different aspects of it. Power and Denji’s friendship is super refreshing, Makima is scary as hell, and Himeno is… unfortunately very hot. don’t @ me

5: Ya Boi Kongming: time travel is always my jam, and this is one of the best. it subverts the whole "the character is dumb bc they're from the past" thing by making the MC a master strategist from the Three Kingdoms period. there's initial confusion, but he picks up quick, and it's more about him using his stratagems to help a girl become a famous singer. it also has one of the best OPs of the year too

4: Birdie Wing: it's the Lesbian Mafia Golf anime, what do you want from me

3: Akiba Maid War: legit one of the most buckwild first episodes ever put to film. absolutely has to be seen to be believed. all i'll say is that the title is literal, and it’s majestic. #1 fuckup gang of 2022

2: My Dress-Up Darling: immaculately crafted romcom, incredible characters. more or less a perfect show, would have been my top spot if the next one hadn't come to eat its lunch a few months later. the scene on the train after the con is one of my favorite scenes in anime period

1: Call of the Night: feels like a show made specifically for me. it's a romcom, but it's moody and there's philosophical shit and vampire fights? sign me the fuck up. then there’s Anko Uguisu, who is a fucking Problem 🥵 and to top it all off, it's the most gorgeous show i’ve seen in a long time. something like Demon Slayer has really fluid action sequences with amazing effects, but it looks pretty standard otherwise. but the composition and color and detail of every shot is so carefully considered in Call of the Night, it’s really something special. truly, absolutely cannot wait for season 2. i picked up the manga and am around chapter 100 now, it’s going in some really fascinating directions

and that’s my list! i was going to make this an honorable mentions section but ended up just mentioning basically everything else new i watched lol. so here’s that:

Ranking of Kings is a show i really loved but it just didn’t quite make the cut. the ending felt a little rushed and it started getting a bit predictable, but still great if you need a good cry

Shikimori Isn’t Just a Cutie was sweet and fun but felt a little thin

Spy x Family is really well-made and totally adorable but i have to take it in small doses for some reason

Reincarnated as a Sword i had no real issues with and i’m looking forward to season 2, but it just wasn’t a top 10

Eminence in Shadow: love the farce, fuckin’ hate the MC. still not sure where i come down on it tbh

Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting: liked it, didn’t watch enough of it

Do It Yourself! is really cute but it never quite hits the highs of something like Laid Back Camp. still worthwhile if you like that kind of thing tho

Lycoris Recoil: i really enjoyed it while i was watching it, but i keep forgetting it exists tbh

and as far as returning stuff goes Mob had such a great ending, i’ve really enjoyed the Stone Ocean adaptation, i just got into Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun this year and i’m having a great time with it, reminds me so much of that 00’s Soul Eater/HxH/toonami-type shonen but much less fight focused. and of course, Uzaki-chan was fucking incredible, as expected
