Miguel: when you was sick Miguel would act like you couldn't do anything and you was as fragile as a flower so you basically wasn't allowed to get out of your bed unless you needed the toilet. He would get his mum to make you some soup and he would watch your favourite movies with you.

Eli/hawk: He would be super soft with you and buy you all your favourite things at the store which made you super happy , when you was sick he would hold your hair back for you.

Demetri:When you told Demetri you was sick he would absolutely not go near you and he was really sorry because he wanted to take care of you but he didn't wanna get sick and when you threw up he would gag and run away but he would make up for it after by giving you all his attention and affection.

Robby: He would have to force you to take your medicine and hold you down because you absolutely hated it (it's disgusting) ,when you fell asleep he would put on something he liked and would braid your hair for you.

Young Daniel Larusso:He wouldn't stop cuddling you no matter how many times you told him he'd get sick ,would get mr miyagi to make you some soup and would read to you until you fell asleep then he would eventually fall asleep to.

Young Johnny Lawrence: He would cancel all his plans and keep asking if you was okay and when you threw up he would hold back your hair but would be fake gagging to , when you fell asleep he would play with your hair and go to the store to buy your f/choc and f/snac which made you super happy and he felt super proud of himself.

“How do you like it, huh?” Is heartbreaking sure but genuinely, it’s kinda what I’ve been waiting for.

I love that Demetri accepts Eli back immediately. I think at the time it was what was needed for both of them. But at the same time Hawk put Demetri through a lot and we never see them actually discuss that aspect of their relationship. Yes, we can assume they talked about it off screen but that moment from Demetri makes it clear they didn’t.

Yes it was said in a moment of heated anger and I don’t think that Demetri would have ever said that otherwise but it at least shows that he still is dealing with that. That he has some residual anger that he hasn’t let himself really feel because he wanted to be a good friend.

I’m all about the fluff of their relationship (i mean look at the fanfics i wrote about them lmao. It’s my fave) but I really wanted more angst between them especially in s4. I hope that even if they don’t go the route of really diving into that aspect, that they continue to acknowledge it. Acknowledge that Demetri absolutely can be holding onto that anger.

I think this disagreement between them could absolutely be a catalyst to a genuine discussion surrounding what Hawk did to Demetri. I want, NEED, it. Because Demetri got Eli back sure, but now he has to deal with the fact that he might lose him again. Demetri probably is thinking along the lines of “He’s ditched me for something else before, what’s stopping him from doing it again” At least in my perspective. That yeah Eli can promise they won’t lose what they’ve got but again, it’s happened before. And that’s so INTERESTING.

Now, whether the show actually goes that route is an entirely different subject. All I have is speculation and hope.

i really just think cobra kai would be a more interesting show if eli and demetri got together at the last all-valley tournament

like up the tension of them becoming friends again in s4 and navigating that their feelings are actually MORE than friendship

like hawk going to miyagi do to fight after his head is shaved for demetri would be so much sweeter if it was also charged with eli's feelings for demetri

imagine it's demetri who kisses Eli to get him his confidence back right before his fight

the entirety of season 5 is charged with "established relationship" vibes from the two of them

and them both helping miguel with his love life would still make sense but suddenly their reference for relationship advice is each other (and they're entirely dysfunctional so it makes sense why their advice ends up sucking)

season 6 divorce arc would be even more painful with demetri thinking that eli not applying to MIT means he's dumping him....

...and eli being like "no dipshit i want to explore other options" "oh other OPTIONS? like date other PEOPLE?" "demetri no-"

and like just add another relationship crisis to the list with the sekai taikai that's pretty much what had everyone else off their game.....

and then the locker room apology would've obviously ended in a kiss

Johnny and the kids all begged Daniel to go to the Erotic Museum in Barcelona for the ENTIRE trip and did not stop until he finally gave in.

Everyone had a fantastic time.

So the writing and overall timeline of season 6 part 1 is weird to say the least, but there’s one plot point that stuck out to me. If this is the choice the writer’s intended, then great because it makes the drama a lot more dramatic if addressed. And if it wasn’t intended then the writing was kinda stupid and still unintentionally good.

So Eli didn’t apply for MIT early action like Demetri, which significantly lowers his chances of acceptance should he apply later on, as addressed by Demetri.

But MIT’s early action “isn’t single-choice, binding, or anything like that.” This is verbatim from the admissions website. So then why would Eli not take the chance of MIT if he’s so undecided?

Or is it that he’s 100% decided he doesn’t want to go to MIT and the “I’ll apply later” is another lie?

But of course, if the writer’s room didn’t know this then that’s on them because I got this from one Google search.

Miguel: Miguel loved when you played with his hair when you cuddled and he would always lay on top of you and you loved it.

Eli/hawk: You both loved cuddling and hes the biggest spoon ever so you was always so comfy whem you guys cuddled. and when you did he would tell you about his day and you would fall asleep to his voice.

Demetri: Demetri isnt very affectionate so when you guys did cuddle it was the best , he would always hold your hand and just look at your face(not in a weird way) just to admire your beauty the entire time.

Robby: He loved cuddling you it was a must in your relationship and he would always have his head in the crook of your neck he loved it , he would also play with your hair and make weird shapes with the ends.

Young Daniel Larusso:He loved having his arms around you whilst cuddling and kissing your face all over , and he would always fall asleep once he got comfortable.

Young Johnny Lawrence: Johnny would always spoon you and have his head in the crook of your neck or resting on your shoulder and would randomly place small kisses on your neck/shoulder.

I know that we don’t have the full season yet so we could potentially get more but I doubt it.

I really and I mean REALLY despise how they handled the Eli/Demetri fight and that’s even outside of shipping.

They set up a really interesting fight. They call back to one of the worst moments in their relationship and do nothing meaningful with it. Demetri gets one line about how worried he was about losing Eli and that’s it. And as much as I love this show, there’s something infuriating about how they drag on the most overdone conflicts and breeze past the more interesting ones.

They afforded more time to the new catty female villain because apparently any girl from a rival dojo immediately has to be vindictive while the male character is afforded more depth. But they can’t give that to their characters that they’ve had since the beginning? They can’t just let these two friends have a genuine argument and actually talk through what happened between them?

And I’m not saying they had to be the main conflict. I recognize that Johnny, Daniel and co. are the main points. But I just wished they gave more time to let them argue. Not about who smelt it dealt it, not with a ridiculous cheating storyline. With actual care and consideration about their relationship.

Their relationship has consistently been swept under the rug. They could’ve done it in s4, arguably the perfect time to do so but they didn’t. They could’ve done it here but they didn’t. I’ll wait for part 3 but it seems that they’re once again relegated to a simple reconciliation when it’s anything but.

Again, I know that they’re not the main selling points (well maybe Hawk is but his presence and his fighting has significantly diminished but that’s a different conversation ) but I think they deserved more than what they got.

a binary boyfriends au where the house fight on December 19th never happened, demetri and eli never make up in high school, and the universe keeps pushing them back together (Boston college au)

aka I wanna gage if anyone would read this fic..... (UPDATE: it's written!)

Demetri is having a shitty morning, so he can’t catch a break. 

Maybe he was moving too fast. Maybe he was in a rush to get back to his apartment and finally attempt the other nine pages of the ten-page essay he should’ve already finished. Maybe the whole thing could be blamed on his long limbs or his natural clumsiness, but Demetri is fully convinced that this guy ran into him. Not the other way around. 

And there goes his second coffee of the day–all over his sneakers, the cafe floor, and the guy who shoulder-checked him at full force. 

“Shit!”

“C’mon, man!” the guy barks at the same time. 

The guy has the hood of his green sweatshirt pulled up over his head, likely doing very little against the weather outside. He’s got wired earbuds in–like all pretentious douchebags do–and Demetri bitterly thinks he must have his music too loud to be aware of his surroundings, hence the collision. His worn utility jacket may have saved the hoodie from the spill but it looks completely ruined now.

Arguably, Demetri is much better off, notably not covered in hot coffee. But, this is his second spilled coffee in a single morning, and the universe is out to get him, so this guy isn't going to hear the end of it.

“You ran into me!” Demetri protests, fuming. 

The guy flicks both his arms a few times, trying to wring out any dripping coffee from his coat sleeves.

Demetri’s never been good at biting his tongue and right now he’s too pissed to hold back. “Maybe if you were actually paying attention to the world around you, and not just plowing in here without a care for other customers or your surroundings, you wouldn’t have ran me over! You know, that’s my second spilled coffee today. I have half a mind to demand you get me a new one-”

The guy finally looks up seemingly to find who is responsible for dumping a medium-sized hot latte all over him. His face is half covered by his hoodie and Demetri can only see an intense side-eye of annoyance as a response to his lecture on the important or personal space. Then, he straightens quickly and narrows his eyes, leaning slightly in to the limited space occupied by a puddle of cooling steamed milk and espresso between them.

“And truly it’s blatantly a matter of safety–”

They lock eye contact and the guy’s eyes widen comically and his eyebrows shoot up so high they disappear above the overhang of his hood.

His voice cracks a little as he interrupts Demetri’s rambling.

“Dem?”

Demetri’s words die halfway through his sentence. Does he know this guy?

The stranger shakes his head roughly and clears his throat. “Sorry, it's just- I…” He looks Demetri up and down and narrows his eyes again. “Is your name Demetri?”

And that's… odd. Demetri inspects the guy’s face as best he can under the sweatshirt hood. He seems sort of familiar, but Demetri can't place it. 

Demetri shifts from one foot to the other, suddenly unsure of how to hold his weight under this guy’s intense gaze. “Um. Yes?”

“Oh my- holy shit!” The guy lets out a laugh of disbelief and pulls out his earbuds, letting them hang out of the top of his hoodie. “This is crazy.” 

He roughly shoves his hood off of his head, and Demetri’s heart drops into the bottom of his stomach. 

He rakes his hand through a thick mop of shaggy light brown hair. Hiding under the hood was a pair of startling blue eyes that Demetri really should’ve recognized. As the not-so-stranger pats the hoodie down behind his neck, Demetri has a clear picture of his entire face. And just before Demetri can come up with a plausible theory on doplegängers, his eyes land on the faint scar rippling from the guy’s upper lip to his nose.

There's just no goddamn way.

So, since Demetri really can’t catch a break this morning, his childhood best friend, Eli Moskowitz, is standing in front of him, covered in his second latte of the morning. 

And Demetri wants to say fuck off or what are you doing here or get out of my city or honestly just walk away, but he’s rendered completely frozen. Demetri feels a little like a cartoon character when their jaw completely unhinges and hits the floor with a comical clang. He’s left buffering like a YouTube video being played with a shitty wifi connection.

He hasn’t seen Eli since high school. Hasn’t talked to him in even longer. It’s probably been four years since they last spoke. Not that Demetri is counting. What the hell is he doing in Boston? What the hell is he doing this close to MIT? Just… what the hell?

Eli’s excited expression falters when Demetri doesn’t respond. He scratches the back of his neck sheepishly. 

“It’s uh- It’s Eli. Moskowitz?”

Demetri notes first that he introduces himself as Eli, not that ridiculous nickname he coined in school.

He says it as if Demetri doesn’t know. He says it as if Demetri wouldn’t recognize him faster than the back of his own hand even all these years later. His hair is long, too long. It’s curling over his ears and nearly touching his shoulders, and Demetri is pissed because it still looks good. He looks older, he looks better, and all Demetri can see is the tiny Eli he met in first grade who was missing both his front teeth. 

Demetri doesn’t know what to make of any of it. This feels like some cosmic joke. 

“Uh, no, yeah. Yeah. What- What are you doing here?” Demetri finally manages. His voice sounds a little strangled, but the question comes out bluntly and a bit harsh. 

“Uh,” Eli starts, glancing around, and letting out a confused laugh. He raises an eyebrow and shoves his hands in his pockets, gesturing with his coat around the cafe. “Getting coffee? What are you doing here?” he teases.

Demetri really doesn’t have time for this. He rolls his eyes. “Not here. What are you doing in Boston?” he demands. 

Eli’s playful expression falls. He furrows his eyebrows. “I live here.”

And that’s- that can’t be right. Demetri lives here. Demetri just started his second semester of his junior year at MIT a month ago. He certainly would’ve noticed if Eli Moskowitz lived in Boston. Right?

“You live… in Boston?”

“Yeah,” Eli shrugs, looking much too nonchalant for Demetri’s liking. “I go to BU.” He cocks his head slightly to the side and earnestly says, “I thought you knew that.” 

Demetri did not know that. That’s the thing about no contact. Demetri’s had Eli blocked in all forms of communication since their junior of high school. It’s sort of hard to keep tabs on someone when they’re pretty strictly out-of-sight, out-of-mind.

kg's notes - i just wanted to make something that was cute, fun, and overall a new layout of how I would present my headcanons. so here are the Cobra Kai characters sharing their favourite sweets with you, because they love you!

Demetri Alexopoulos - he would really love to share a Whatchamacallit or Cherry airhead with you and tear off small pieces and feed them to you. he goes from doing that to having it in his mouth to 'feed' you like that when you know the truth is he wants a kiss from you which you happily accept with chocolate on your face from the Whatchamacallit.

Miguel Diaz - he would love lots of Spanish candy and would tend to bring you back a lot of it, especially since he makes frequent trips to Mexico to visit family. the different varieties and textures make you both excited (and nervous) to try them and he'll make sure to take note of which candies you prefer so the two of you can enjoy them together, even if some of them aren't in his personal preferences but he likes seeing you happy.

Robby Keene - he's definitely spicier than anything actually sweet, but he tries to get something not so spicy for you to try, which makes you scoff and say you could handle it. he looks at you funny knowing that you're either lying to him or telling him the truth, either way he's intrigued about how motivated you are to try his "spicy" candies. if he doesn't eat candy he shares the corn nuts with you and you say the ranch flavor is your favourite.

Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz - he's the type who really appreciates sour candy and if you don't like it he's willing to share his dark chocolate with you. he wasn't raised eating candy, so you two would share a slice of fruit like: watermelon, apple, orange, or whatever kind he has in his pantry the moment. you actually started his love of chocolate (he would never admit this to your face but he would tell Demetri and Anthony) after telling him to get you some during your period since it helped you with the cramps, even though he retorted with a banana when you asked for the chocolate.

Anthony LaRusso - he would get the little variety packs like Kit Kats, Buenos, or anything chocolate related. he's not a big fan of regular-sized or larger chocolate (like King-size Hershey bars), since it now makes him uncomfortable to eat so much chocolate again. he would unwrap it and feed it to you instead of allowing you to make it yourself, although he would only allow you to take a couple of pieces of chocolate before hiding it in his room. he got better at hiding candy because you were sneaking around while he was trying to hide it once.

Samantha "Sam" LaRusso - similarly to Eli, she would rather eat fruit than real candy, but she sometimes eats real candy and it normally comes from Italy instead of here, America. she's not a fan of chewy or gummy candy, so the cappuccino candy she likes comes as a hard candy to make it last longer, plus she says it's better than the coffee you might get at a coffee shop. you're on the fence about that. it's not your favorite thing while it's hers and you offered her yours to see if she would like it and that is to be determined…

Tory Nichols - she's used to sharing a lot of things especially with her brother (Brandon) because that's all she knows, so it's no surprise when she offers you pieces of her chocolate. she's more on the bitter side of things like something rich—an espresso or a cappuccino if you will for her chocolate, although there are rare times when she would eat Sour Patch Kids or Jolly Ranchers (blue raspberry and watermelon are her favorite flavorus).
